look, you might think it's all fair and square to toss around that word however you want, but that kind of thinking only shows you haven't felt the real weight of trauma that fractures a mind. our terms come from actual pain, not from a textbook definition or a casual debate about fairness. if you haven't experienced the gut-wrenching reality of memory loss and identity disruption, then don't try to rewrite the language of those who have. stick to what you know, and leave the heavy stuff to the ones who live it.
i think that attempting to gatekeep the term "system" to only CDDs is a pointless endeavor.
particularly because, it's been used SO much in so many different contexts and is still commonly used in those contexts like in the fields of science and health for example. which to me as an autistic person, if I was someone without a CDD and I was told to stop using the term "system" it just wouldn't seem fair. i would ponder over why IFS is allowed to use the term but im not??
rules and regulations need to be fair and just. if things about them do not make sense or have holes in the reasonings - there are going to be objections. and that's completely fair, after all if a rule doesn't make sense it doesn't make sense to follow it?
make up your own term and use that! that way you don't have to deal with the muddied history of the term "system" and there will be FAR less objections for using it as a CDD exclusive term.

oh nooo not the "luh mao" attack. whatever will i do. guess i gotta pack it up and go home now. you really got me there.
listen, if you want sources, try every medical professional who's ever studied dissociative disorders. DID and OSDD are trauma disorders. they require trauma. you don’t get to just decide you have a system because you like the idea of being quirky and unique. that’s not how it fucking works.
but hey, keep making up words like "systrender" if it makes you feel better. meanwhile, real systems will keep dealing with actual memory loss and identity disruption while you play make-believe on the internet.
listen up you fucking newbies. i'm here to set the record straight. this whole "everyone's a system" bullshit? yeah, that's getting old. real fast. like, do you even know what you're talking about? probably not.
if you haven't got years of trauma, actual documented amnesia, and a therapist who's seen you switch so hard it makes their head spin, then shut the fuck up. you're not a system. you're just quirky. you're just "having a mood". get over yourselves.
i'm tired of seeing these "sysmed" and "plurality positive" debates. there's no debate. there's reality and there's your delusional bullshit. if you're not suffering, you're not a system. period.
i'm here to call out the fakers, the trenders, and the attention-seekers. if you don't like it, block me. i don't care. i'm here to protect the real systems from being diluted by your bullshit.
you want to be part of something? join a fucking book club. stop appropriating a disorder you clearly don't understand.
and yeah, i'm gatekeeping. someone has to.

oh wow, a dark souls analogy. you got me there, buddy. real original.
except, here’s the thing, this isn’t a game. this isn't some fun little club where everyone gets to join in and say "teehee i have alters too" just because they like the idea. this is a fucking disorder. it ruins lives. it breaks people. it’s not some fun little internet identity to collect like trading cards.
if you can't handle that, maybe you should go play a video game instead of shoving your nose into shit you clearly don't understand.

"everyone has parts" yeah, and everyone has lungs, but that doesn't mean everyone has fucking asthma.
compartmentalizing your emotions isn't the same as having a disorder that literally fractures your sense of self. people like you love to water this shit down until it means nothing. if you really cared about "promoting autonomy," you wouldn't be so fucking insistent on making real, diagnosed conditions into something anyone can claim just because they relate to it.
there's a difference between "relating" to something and having it. but i guess that line gets real blurry when you're desperate to be part of something you were never meant to be.
