What’s your most self-indulgent wip?

I have one that I'll probably never finish that was also created in the same "I don't want to post anymore" funk that MiT came out of. It's for Daredevil and it's Matt/Vanessa/Fisk soulmarks AU.

In this world (which I didn't do in MiT but could be a fun AU for MiF) when your soulmate is injured you feel the burn of it without knowing what's happened. So Vanessa and Fisk felt Matt's training with Stick and then felt when he took up being Daredevil - they're totally frantic to find their third and have no clue where he is but they've been looking for years. Then Fisk orders the Man in the Mask to be killed S1 and they realize that he's their soulmate. Matt's general feelings are No and they're sort of stuck wooing from afar while dealing with Fisk and Matt being on opposite ends of the criminal spectrum and with lots of bestfriend!Foggy running interference.

I haven't written any Daredevil in years but I still open that one up to read what I actually have written sometimes, lol. I don't know how much of a market there is for M/F/V and I've mostly lost my Daredevil muse so I don't foresee ever finishing it but that one was literally started just for me to enjoy myself which is pretty self-indulgent I'd say.

Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

I have people press their foreheads together as a silent gesture more than is necessary, lol. Across fandoms, across fics. I just love the intimacy and connection of it.

What are your favorite fics at the moment?

Same answer as before on the "at the moment" part of that question but here's another fic I love:

These Breaths We Breathe series by kayura_sanada

Merlin/Arthur series that starts with Merlin and Arthur beginning their relationship secretly and then Uther finds out about Merlin's magic. He tries to quietly execute Merlin by putting him in a section of the castle walls undergoing repair and covering him over. Arthur won't have that though and it sprawls from there in this amazing epic of their devotion to each other as they work through what's happened between them and all the truths that are revealed.

I've read this so many times, I love it, I daydream so many of those scenes. Arthur in particular is just amazing. Perfection.

-  this blog will be canon divergent from the netflix series in that fisk was not arrested after the events of the season three finale,  but he has lost the faith of the public after being brought into scrutiny again.  he still has some federal agents of various rankings either being blackmailed into turning a blind eye or on his payroll.  it is common knowledge in new york city that wilson fisk is a criminal. 

-  mixing canon often drains my muse so i will primarily be writing fisk as he was in the netflix show.  this doesn’t mean i am not willing to write with comic book muses but my interpretation will be that of vincent donofrio’s in the series.  i have not seen fisk in any of the disney+ shows and don’t really plan to but i’m not opposed to writing with those muses either! 

-  my fisk is autistic.

-  i plan on keeping this blog low formatting but you can do whatever you want.  when i do use icons,   the psd will be greenleaf from unseenmockingjay. 

-   wilson is either single or with vanessa marianna/fisk,  there is no in between and its unlikely i will be shipping outside of that  ( save for the occasional james wesley )  but for any vanessa / fisk interactions i won’t be assuming that they are in a relationship prior to communicating with the admin.

The sting of the hot water over his latest series of cuts was a painful necessity and easily ignored. His mind was elsewhere, anyway, at least until his peace was interrupted. Pausing, tense, at the softest pad of footsteps, nearly indecipherable, and the creak of the bathroom door, nearly drowned out by the shower, he exhaled slowly as he recognized the heartbeat and the scent. It still wasn’t particularly a good thing. The Black Cat shouldn’t be in Matt Murdock’s apartment, after all.

He’d been poking at her lately, a few run-ins here and there, investigating outside of the mask. Her connection with Fisk had always seemed tenuous at best, and he couldn’t imagine that the Kingpin would outright reveal the connection between Daredevil and Matt Murdock, not when Vanessa was at stake. Yet, he couldn’t come up with another plausible reason why she was here.

And in his bathroom, for that matter.

Switching off the water and reaching out for the towel rack, he made a show of grasping around for his towel, despite knowing exactly where it was. His senses told him she had currently sat herself on his toilet, lid down, all prim and proper, as if she was supposed to be there. Irritating. He waited until the towel was firmly wrapped around his waist before pulling back the shower curtain.

“Is someone there?” he called, tone suspicious, head turned slightly to her left, towards the bathroom door, away from her though his body stayed pointed in her direction, tense with readiness.

DD AU IDEA NO. 2

Medusa!Vanessa Marianna

Since Vanessa is very fond of art, she makes a bet with the nine muses.

She gets cocky and they curse her with the ability to make eye contact with anyone and turn them into Stone.

She uses this ability to her advantage and makes people pose and then make eye contact with her so she can keep them as statues and sculptures.

Vanessa has always wanted to sculpt and create but never had such abilities. She takes advantage of her curse because of this. The nine muses now have no control over how she uses the curse.

Eventually Vanessa has multiple statues that she hads made people into and brings them down from Mount Olympus for everyone to see.

Nobody knows who these people are that were turned into sculptures nor do they know that they were turned into stone..

Eventually Karen (who would be Athena. I will further get into that one in another blog. This will most likely be a series) would find out that Vanessa is making these innocent people into stone and takes action

Karen takes Vanessa’s eyes so she can no longer look at anyone and turn them to stone. Vanessa is sent down from Olympus to spend to the rest of her days with hades (Wilson Fisk)

The men and women within the office do not have the gall or the bravery to look at her in the eye unless Vanessa herself grants them that access. They all know her, they all sense her presence. [ 💸 ] if your muse had no shortage of money, what would they buy?

This already sorta came up with New U, because God knows Ben didn't have any shortage of money or power in that instance, considering that his face-to-face with the Kingpin ended with a Vanessa clone laying dead on the floor of Fisk's office and Fisk himself being ejected out of it by the Rhino at Ben's behest. Even in the damaged state he was in during that, the answer to this was the same as it'd ever be. Scientific equipment, scientific advancement, and helping people. If there's anything else worth sending money on for him, it'll be on the back burner comparatively.

//I can see the appeal of Fiskley. However, I ship Fisk and Vanessa so, Fiskley isn’t really my favorite. But I can totally see the giant man crush they have on each other or the bromance. If Vanessa wasn’t in the picture I’m sure either would have loved to just be bros for the rest of their lives. I’ll write on their deep bromance though!

Wesley is like Fisk’s mother. He tends to his needs, makes sure he has food in his belly, that he sleeps (as much as James can get him to without the nightmares) and he dotes on him.

Fisk in turn, always is sure to make James understand how much he cares and is grateful. He thanks him and compliments him at any opportunity he gets.

Both of them won’t say it out loud but they enjoy when the other will speak their mind just to keep them both thinking. They are willing to share whatever they want without feeling like they’d be judged.

Wesley found out about Fisk’s father the first night he had a nightmare in front of him. He had no idea what was wrong, and when Fisk woke up in a rage/overwhelmingly sad state Wesley almost had a panic attack with thinking he wouldn’t be able to help and calm him down. Fisk trusted him after that night wholeheartedly.

For every anniversary of the date that Wesley started working with Fisk, he gifts Wesley with a new pair of cufflinks. Wes’ favorites are ones of tiny silver fox heads.

Wesley in return, without telling Fisk, that same anniversary, will cook him a home meal, usually something Fisk’s mother use to make him when he was younger. He will make it and then leaves before Fisk arrives home for the night, leaving a surprise for his employer. Fisk of course knows who does it, but he respectfully keeps quiet.
