The Culture and Traditions in Pangasinan

I chose the province of Pangasinan because this is the place where my mother is originally from. Although I didn’t grow up in Pangasinan I still know a lot of things about it because we regularly visit during school break and my mother talks about it too. And in this blog I am going to share what are the culture and traditions in Pangasinan that I have experienced when visiting my relatives on my mother’s side.

The province of Pangasinan is most known for its Hundred Islands a tourist spot that offers stunning views for pictures and a lot of water activities. Even though we visit every summer I still haven’t experience going to Hundred Islands but from the stories my cousins are telling me I think it is a really great place.

They are known for their food such as Bangus, different types of Bagoong and Tupig a native delicacy from Pangasinan which is made with ground glutinous rice and coconuts strips wrapped in banana leaves. It is then cooked over charcoal, which adds to the delicious flavor of the chewy rice cake. The word “tupig” means “flattened” in the local dialect, referring to the sweet treat’s shape when cooked. It is also common in the province to celebrate festivals such as Bangus festival and many more.

From what I stated above the people who lives in Pangasinan are called Ilocano and the language they speak are Ilocano and Pangasinense. Just like my grandfather who is a farmer the most common livelihood of the people there are farming and fishing.

They are also known for their wedding tradition called pasabit o pabitin where the guests attaches money to the clothes of the groom and bride. This event is even featured in Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho where the brides dress accumulated Php 200 000 and if combined with the money attached to the groom's suit, the total amount reached Php 400, 000 +. Lastly Ilocanos are also known for being thrifty and as they call it kuripot but not being selfish they just want to save money.

Utah Hospital Helps Couple Marry Before Baby’s Premature Birth

The staff at a Utah hospital host a wedding ceremony so a couple can get married before their baby’s premature birth. Chelsea Mueller and Jeff Bradley had been together for years and always planned to get married before they had kids. The couple had a wedding planned for early 2020, but then COVID-19 delayed it and they rescheduled for July of 2022.

That date would have worked perfectly with their plans to get married before the birth of their first child, but then Chelsea went into pre-term labor on May 27th, so the couple decided to get married in the hospital. They asked the staff at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, Utah, if they could have their nuptials at the facility, thinking they’d have a small bedside ceremony in Chelsea’s room, but the staff had bigger plans.

Labor and delivery nurses transformed a hospital classroom into a wedding chapel, kitchen staff brought a wedding cake and sparkling cider, and the hospital’s chaplain officiated the ceremony. The bride and groom were blown away by the staff’s thoughtfulness. “The nurses here really turned it into a whole event,” Chelsea recalls. “I was just shocked that they were able to pull something off and actually make it really cute.” Then three days later on June 1st, the newlyweds welcomed their daughter Rheya to their family. The couple says the hospital will always be a special place for them: where their family truly began.

Maji Battle Wedding Event

This June Bride story was released in 2020, from May 4th to June 30th. The screenshots were shared by kituneno_botan. It reminds me of the “Yume Yume Hakusho” OVA and the first Yu Yu Hakusho movie: a nice short story with a funny ending.

“PURSUING THE TRUE IDENTITY OF THE DREAM!”

-STORY- Yusuke wakes up from a dream in which Botan was getting married. He’s been having unreasonable and mysterious dreams lately, and everyone has been experiencing the same phenomenon. Apparently, this is not a trivial matter. They got suspicious, visited Genkai, and...

(ringing sound of a temple bell)

Jorge: Ugh.... Sniff .... Ugh...

Yusuke: Oh … What? Why are you crying?

Koenma: Uhg...I never thought this day would come...

Yusuke: Even Koenma! Hey, what the heck going on?

Yusuke: ...hmm? A bouquet?

Botan: No! My bouquet toss. I'm surprised that Yusuke caught it.

Botan: I'm sorry, Keiko-chan! I intended to throw it at Keiko-chan!

T/N: Omiai (matchmaking) is a Japanese traditional custom which relates closely to Western matchmaking, in which a woman and a man are introduced to each other to consider the possibility of marriage.

Yusuke: What was that dream about Botan's wedding yesterday? It's just like that night after night...

Keiko: Huh?

Keiko: If it's a dream about a wedding, I had one recently too.

Yusuke: What! Seriously? That's a hell of a coincidence!

Keiko: But, my dream was about Shizuru-san getting married to a very wonderful man.

Keiko: Shizuru-san was so beautiful in the dream.

Yusuke: They’re similar dreams, right...?

Genkai: Since you're all here, that means...it seems you all came to consult me about the same thing!

Kurama: Yes, no doubt about it.

 Kuwabara: Wait a minute! I don't think that means…

Genkai: Yes, it means that everyone here has been having some strange dreams lately.

Yusuke: What … for real?!

Kurama: Although he's not here, Hiei seems to be suffering from the same phenomenon.

Kurama: It's unusual, because he fell out of a tree.

T/N: If Hiei fell out of a tree while sleeping, he obviously dreamt about Kuwabara and Yukina’s marriage.

Botan: It's hard to imagine that Hiei would fall.

Yusuke: Hey, Botan! I had a dream about your wedding!

Botan:  Eh...my wedding!?

Yusuke: That's right, Botan tossed the bouquet and I caught it!

Botan: Jeez, you've got to be kidding me! I can’t believe, my marriage...!?

Kuwabara: Oh, Botan-chan, are you embarrassed?

Botan: ...I'm not embarrassed! Besides, I had a dream just like that too!

Yusuke: Oh, what was it about?

Botan: I dreamed of Yusuke and Keiko getting married!

Keiko: Eh....?

Yusuke: Whaaat...!

Kuwabara: Hey, hey, Urameshi's face is suddenly turning red!

Botan: In my dream, Yusuke was saying pretentious things.

Yusuke: Mo, you moron!

Genkai: You guys, enough of chitchat!

Genkai: Recently, I heard a rumor that there is a youkai who makes mischief while you are sleeping. Probably, this case is due to this youkai.

Genkai: I'd say that unless we defeat the main culprit​, the current situation will continue.

Botan: We'd better check with Koenma-sama as well. Let's listen to what he has to say about it, here and now.

Yusuke: Aye!

Koenma: You're all there.

Yusuke: Hey, do you have any idea what's going on here?

Koenma: Don't worry, as too many people have been affected, I've already identified the place where the youkai is hiding.

Koenma: Apparently, it's a youkai who likes to get into dreams and confuse people while they are sleeping.

Yusuke: Oh my, it's quite a bother. I can't believe it has broken into my dream and played a prank!

Kuwabara: Pranking in a dream...it kind looks like that, that's it.

Botan: What's is it?

Kuwabara: That's it, that's, that's! Err … that's a baku, a baku!

Kuwabara: Baku show you nightmares, right?

T/N: Baku are youkai that are said to devour nightmares. Legends say that if a child having a nightmare wakes up and repeats three times - "Baku-san, come eat my dream" - the baku will come and devour the bad dream, allowing the child to go back to sleep peacefully.

Kurama: Baku devour nightmares, or so it seems...

Botan: Tsk, Kuwa-chan, that’s just unreliable!

Koenma: Anyway, it's lurking in the nearby forest. It'll start to move gradually from the time when the sun goes down.

Koenma: I'm counting on you.

Yusuke: Heck, I don't know if it's Baku or what, but I'm gonna get rid of it quickly!

Yusuke: Keiko, you should go home first. We'll take care of it on our own.

Keiko: Uh, yes...! Be careful.

Yusuke: Alright, let's head for the forest!

At the forest:

Botan: Uh....It’s dark, I can’t see very well.

Botan: Even though the sun has just set, it's like midnight.

Kurama: This forest doesn't have a very nice atmosphere. Let's get this over with quickly!

Yusuke: Wow, it's so dark here, we're at a disadvantage.

*THUD*

Yusuke: Hmm? What's that noise?

Kuwabara: *zzz*...*zzz*...

Yusuke: What...!? Kuwabara, what the hell are you doing sleeping at a critical moment!

Yusuke: Wake up!!

Yusuke: Hey, he's not getting up at all…

Botan: Yusuke, isn't Kuwa-chan looking strange?

Kuwabara: zzz...uh! *puff puff*...*puff puff*...!

Kurama: That's not normal. It's like he's having a nightmare...

Genkai: Maybe it's the work of a youkai.

Yusuke: What!? Is it closer than I thought?

Genkai: That's a possibility.

Yusuke: Fuuuuuuuck, for real!? If we don't defeat it soon, this is going to be a mess, man.

Genkai: We have to kill it anyway. Yusuke, hurry up!

Botan: I'm worried, so I'll keep an eye on Kuwa-chan. We'll meet up later when he wakes up.

Yusuke: Ok, be careful Botan!

Botan: Good grief, we're in a big trouble...Kuwa-chan is still having nightmares...

Botan: wha, what?...Wh...at...

*Botan collapses*

Yusuke: *puff puff*...where the hell you are you, youkai!?

Kurama: Ah, Yusuke!

???: Damn...

Hiei: Yu, suke...?

Yusuke: That’s Hiei!

Genkai: It looks like you're terribly exhausted...To think there was such a youkai!

Yusuke: Hiei, what's the matter?! You're staggering!

Yusuke: In such a small land, no way, the Black Dragon Wave...!?

Hiei: Hmph...

Hiei: If I had shot a Black Dragon Wave, this land would have been blown to bits!

Hiei: .......

Yusuke: Hey, Hiei!

Kurama: He's fine, he's just sleeping.

Kurama: But, it's a troublesome youkai. Just getting close to it, may induce drowsiness.

Genkai: As soon as you find it, you have to kill it immediately, or everyone will collapse.

*rustle*

 Yusuke: ...ah?

 Youkai: .......

Yusuke: There it is, don't run away, heey!

Yusuke: I'll kill you with a single blow!

Yusuke: Spirit Gun!

Botan: Aaah! I'm back!

Kuwabara: Oh, there's Hiei too. He's sleeping like a baby!

Yusuke: You idiot, you were just sleeping too!

Botan: Are you all safe?

Genkai: It's a very weak youkai in terms of combat power. It was quickly killed by a single shot of Yusuke's spirit gun.

Genkai: But it could make people drowsy. It was a troublesome youkai, that's for sure.

Botan: Drowsy? I guess that's why I fell asleep too, right?

Yusuke: Hey, Botan was asleep too? You're hopeless.

Botan: Ahaha, I'm sorry...

Kurama: Anyway, we were able to get rid of the youkai. I don't think we will have any more mysterious dreams from today.

Kurama: We can sleep in peace!

Yusuke: I can finally sleep well from today! I haven't had enough sleep!

Kuwabara: Ah, it feels like a peaceful night after a long time!

At Botan’s place (where does she live? lol)

Botan: *sighs*, it's been a hectic day!

Botan: Even so, a dream about my wedding...

Botan: A cute dress and a beautiful bouquet.

Botan: I'm sure it'll be a great memory to have a wedding surrounded by everyone!

Botan: Someday, I'll wear a dress too. I wonder if the day will come when I''ll have a bouquet toss, like Yusuke said.

Botan: Koenma-sama! Jorge-san! Thank you for everything!

Botan: I'm quitting the spirit detective assistant job!

Botan: Hey, what am I thinking...! Koenma-sama and Jorge-san would be surprised!

Botan: *chuckle*, but I wish I had a nice dream today, since the youkai was also eliminated!

Botan: *sighs*, good night...

Botan: Koenma-samaaaaaa!

Jorge Saotome: Please don't go! 

Koenma: Ha-ha-ha-ha (laughing loudly)

For my inbox full of people being nasty and questioning why people are mad about the way tour announcements were handled. Let me give you an example to compare this scenario too:

Imagine your friend is getting married in Hawaii June of 2020 and invites you to her big wedding in November of 2019. You’re excited, a chance to go to Hawaii and you love your friend so you agree to go. You budget out the cost of flights, hotel, etc. Then the pandemic hits and your friend says she, unfortunately, needs to push back the date to 2021.

You get it, everyone’s stuck at home, COVID is spreading and there’s no way you’d feel comfortable getting on a plane (much less be able to even find a flight) to get to the wedding. She sends out new dates in August 2021 and tells you her wedding planner and her will keep you posted on everything that’s going on. 

You agree to go, I mean a year from now things could be better, we might have a vaccine, things will be open. So you go about the rest of your year, you have the week marked off of the calendar, you’ve called off work for those days and you’ve booked your hotel room and flights. It’s a month before the wedding and the news on tv keeps talking about this new covid variant that’s spreading across the world and while you may be vaccinated, you’re still worried because 1000+ people at a wedding reception with no mask requriement that can really be enforced seems like a risky move. You reach out to her wedding planner that tells you that you should mark your calendars as the wedding is still on, but you’re not too sure. 

After weeks of back and forth emails with no real answer you see a post on Instagram from your friend (the bride) saying that for the safety of her guests she postponing her wedding until November 2022.

Now you’re stuck with a flight and hotel you can’t get refunded, the work days you already called off and a new date she wants you to accomodate for. 

Now take this scenario and triple it. You’re a Harry Styles fan that BOUGHT TICKETS (you weren’t invited you fucking paid to go) in 2019. Tour was pushed back from 2020 to 2021 and you haven’t heard any information about whether it was still happening or not for over a year (YES A FUCKING YEAR). You’re shows a month a way so you say fuck it plane tickets are getting expensive and so are hotels I need to book ASAP. You book your accomodations and flight and two days later you get an email from Ticketmaster saying your show is changed and a random tweet from Harry saying they’re trying their best and care about you (and new music is coming so hey don’t worry). SO now you have a $100-1000 ticket that you don’t know what to do with and the airline and hotel company won’t refund you without a hefty fee because they don’t give two sh*ts that your event was postponed. 

So why are people upset and angry? Because as much as it may seem that many of us spend all of our time on tumblr/dedicated to Harry, the majority have other obligations and things to do that we can’t just drop everything for a show. For some its work, others its school, some people have kids or other committments, and some can’t even get into the US cause of travel restricitons. I’ll repeat it again for those in the back:

James Middleton and his fiancée Alizee Thevenet are red carpet-ready!

The animal-loving couple traded their usual casual country style for chic ensembles to attend the Bvlgari Magnifica Gala dinner at Spencer House in London on Thursday. They were all smiles as they posed for photos at the event, with James sporting a stylish navy velvet jacket while Alizee was pretty in a pink floral dress with long sleeves.

The couple got engaged in September 2019, but their wedding plans were delayed. Kate Middleton's younger brother shared in May 2020 that he and Alizee had planned to get married that month but changed plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

James and the French financial analyst - who is trilingual and grew up in Germany, Indonesia, Chile, France, Belgium and England - celebrated one year of being engaged in September 2020 with a trip to Italy.

"It's a year since I asked Alizee to marry me 💍 … what a year it's been!" James wrote on Instagram. "Two homes 🏡 lockdown 🔐 two attempts at a wedding🤵👰❌, a litter of 🐶, launching of new company @ella.co 🐾 a beard shave 🪒 and much more but the best part is that I get to share it with you @alizeethevenet and I can't wait to take on whatever the future holds for us ✨."

He added, "We managed to escape to Italy ⛵️for a quick dip in the the sea, lots of 🍝&🍷 and now ready to face the world again."

James is known for his beloved pack of dogs - and even credits his cocker spaniel Ella with introducing him to his bride-to-be! According to his interview with The Telegraph, James's pup approached Alizee in the South Kensington Club, where they were both having meetings, in the summer of 2018.

"I'm truly so thankful to Ella for bringing me so much happiness into my life," the entrepreneur behind the dog food brand Ella & Co. said in an April 15 Instagram post. "She was the one who introduced me to Alizee, she supported me during my experience with clinical depression, she has kept me young & active and is the driving force behind my motivation to launch @ella.co."

Happy Birthday Riddle and Ortho!

Riddle and Ortho's birthdays are in August! To celebrate their birthday, we have a special feature on their affiliated dorms. Let's take a secret peek at the student life in the Heartslabyul and Ignihyde dorm!

Riddle Rosehearts/VA: Hanae Natsuki

He is the dorm leader of Heartslabyul. He fervently protects the laws of the Queen of Hearts and harshly punishes those who break them, making him feared by the students. 

The Heartslabyul dorm is inspired by the worldview of "Alice in Wonderland." They are guided by the rules of the Queen of Hearts, the dorm leader decides to hold an "Unbirthday party" on the days when it's no one's birthday according to his mood, so at a first glimpse, they seem to be a dorm with a showy and peaceful atmosphere. However, it's an imperative rule to strictly follow the strange laws made by the Queen of Hearts. Riddle, whose birthday was on 24/08, is a powerful person who became the dorm leader in his first week of entering the college. Compared to the past dorm leaders, he is particularly respectful of the laws of the Queen of Hearts, and thoroughly enforces the rules on the students, cracking down harshly on the lawbreakers.

There are few students who know all 810 laws exactly, and even for those students who break the laws unintentionally, Riddle is unforgiving. Ever since Riddle became the dorm leader, there have been no students dropping out or staying back a year in the dorm, all thanks to his strictness. Even though the vice dorm leader Trey Clover and Cater follow up, the results-focused Riddle undoubtedly guides the dorm students. However, it can’t be disputed that there's a considerable number of people who are displeased. It would be fine if that displeasure never erupted but…. Riddle's unique magic

Riddle's unique magic, Off with your head, puts a collar on the victim so they can't use magic. Someone who cannot use magic at a magic school like NRC, cannot go to classes normally…

His growth period is still going on!?

He's the smallest of the 2nd years introduced thus far, with a length of 160 cm. He is bothered by his height, and gets angry when Floyd makes fun of it. During the limited June event "Ghost Marriage, Destiny's proposal", he was one of the first people to "rush" for Eliza, but his height excluded him.

Dissecting Riddle

Eye: Because he's so serious, he's unfamiliar with trends, and it’s quite obvious he doesn't understand street topics. The person himself insists on saying that "It isn’t an inconvenience to be unaware of such things," though…

Heart: At Riddle's strict personality lies a peaceful base, however there are many things that can press his buttons. One can often see his face grow red in anger.

Hand: Riddle can also cook if there's a recipe, even though it isn't his speciality. However, he's aware that his sense of proportion when it comes to measuring ingredients is lacking.

Brain: Because of his diligence, he gets amazing grades and is ranked 1st in his year. On tests he gets full marks in every subject. He can also accurately remember the 810 laws of the Queen of Hearts.

Mouth: Riddle actually has a sweet tooth and loves the strawberry tarts of his childhood friend, the vice dorm leader Trey.  He especially favors the latest pie slice (TN: A slice of an unspecified cake). Adversely, he dislikes foods with a strong taste and that are bad for your health, which explains his dislike of junk food. It seems he prefers mild flavours.

Leg and waist: Because he has few muscles, he's below average when it comes to physical measurements, but his reflexes aren't bad. One can see him skilfully manoeuvring a horse with high techniques in the equestrian club.

Absolutely adhere to the rules!

This is a dorm based on the strict attitude of the Queen of Hearts. Students have to live their lives accordingly, adhering to strict laws such as "Do not eat the tarts without being given permission by the Queen" and "Stand up from your seat within 15 minutes after eating lunch".

4 patriots of the redness of Heartslabyul!

Ace Trappola/VA: Yamashita Seiichirou

He's a 1st year student like the main character. He knows how to swim with the tides and has a bright personality, but he can also be a bit malicious. He's rivals with Deuce, a fellow 1st year from Heartslabyul.

 He's afraid of nothing!?

Ace says exactly what he thinks without fear. He always makes his statements without any hint of cowardice. He doesn't hold back against the dorm leader Riddle, and says the things he wants to say without reading the atmosphere, and makes slightly malicious remarks.

Deuce Spade/VA: Kobayashi Chiaki

He's a 1st year student like the main character. He enrolled in NRC to become a splendid magician. He's serious but he's bad at swimming with the tide.

He gets full marks on seriousness

Deuce cannot remember all the laws of the Queen of Hearts, but fundamentally he's an honest and exemplary student.It seems Riddle approves of his serious personality if only "He was a little bit more thoughtful"…

Trey Clover/VA: Suzuki Ryouta

He is a 3rd year and the vice dorm leader of Heartslabyul. He has a gentle personality and has a guardian-like presence for all the dorm’s students. He also backs up the overbearing Riddle.

He's good at backing up but…

As Riddle's childhood friend, he frequently backs up the overbearing Riddle. He plays the role of lubricating oil towards Heartslabyul and he's indispensable. However, he almost never rebukes Riddle.

Cater Diamond/VA: Kobayashi Tatsuyuki

He is a 3rd year of Heartslabyul. He's a communicator who can read the mood. He's well informed of things like popularity rankings, food and crazes. However, sometimes he shows his heartless side…

A cheery moodmaker

Cater is the moodmaker of Heartslabyul who is good at communicating. He has built a good friendship with the feared Riddle. Together with Trey he deals with Riddle and his environment and backs him up.

The high-tech younger brother's birthday!

The Ignihyde dorm is inspired by the worldview of the world of Hercules. There are many students who are good at magical energy engineering and digital related things, so both the lounge rooms and the corridors have many monitors installed. The main story picturing Ignihyde hasn't been distributed yet, and there have not been many appearances of the general Ignihyde students until chapter 4, so even now, many parts of the dorm remain shrouded in mystery. In the midst of that, there's one person with a lot of mysteries to him, the dorm leader Idia's "younger brother", Ortho. He's always lightly floating, because he's a robot. Furthermore, Idia made his body himself, with the latest and newest features, and is packed with maniacal functions that Idia even forgot he equipped him with. The nature of Ortho’s existence hasn’t been revealed, but his relationship with Idia is genuine. While they might be awkward, the feelings they have for each other aren't lies. The next 14th of August, Idia will surely celebrate Ortho's birthday from his heart!

Ortho Shroud/VA: Aoi Shouta

Idia's "younger brother". He's always seen with Idia, and he cares a lot about his brother. In contrast to Idia, he's lively and  honest, and brimming with curiosity.

Dissecting Ortho

Flame: He can shoot a beam with strong fire power from his chest by charging magical energy. He's not good at regulating his strength, and sometimes overdoes it, and sometimes has to be stopped by the principal.

Body: His feet have anti gravity apparatus installed, so he's always floating. His sports body grants him the wish of "Wanting to walk on the earth" and has springs installed in his feet so he can run.

Brain: Recollecting his brother, all his thoughts and actions center around Idia. He can even hack into a GPS to search for him!

Eye: He's equipped with the cutting edge of medical tools, and can also read the vital signs of his subject. He can also do things like see through lies by sensing the variation in their pulse.

Mouth: He differs from Idia who is bad with social dispositions in a way that he can talk to anyone without care. He's one of the few people Idia can talk to face to face.

Is he too coddling?

Ortho loves his older brother Idia, who is a shut in and attends the dorm leader meetings by tablet, while Ortho carries out preparations for assemblies and ceremonies in his stead. If he keeps getting coddled by Ortho like that, he might never get cured from his bashfulness!?

Unusual means

During the Ghost Marriage event, he was about to annihilate the school building in order to save his older brother from the ghost bride who fell in love with Idia at first sight. He was by no means careless and it's terrifying how he chose that method by thinking calmly about it, but that's all because his brother is dear to him.

Idia Shroud/VA: Uchiyama Kouki

The dorm leader of Ignihyde. He's shy and gloomy, and is a shut in that doesn't like being in contact with people. However, it seems that's not the case online.

Both the dorm leader and the students are reserved and quiet

It is a dorm based on the diligent spirit of the ruler of the underworld. There are many docile students, who don't appear often before others. According to Cater they're the total opposite of the cheery people from Heartslabyul.

Older brother and "younger brother"

One would think that Idia and Ortho are siblings based on their blue flamed hair and golden eyes. However, Ortho's whole body is a robot, and it hasn't been revealed yet if they're real siblings or if he was originally a human to begin with.

As this quarter comes to a close, FeudalConnection will be taking a short hiatus. This time is always spent reviewing the process and seeing what can be revamped for the next quarter. 

During this time, there are a couple Inuyasha-inspired events going on. 

InuKag week will be hosted June 8th to June 14th!

The Inuyasha Fanfiction Book Club, created by @lemonlushff​, will have its first meeting Saturday, May 30th, from 9-10pm EST. For June, it will be a Queer-centered piece for Pride Month!

We will officially be back in full swing starting July 1st! We will still be around in case you have questions or concerns, but please take this time to read new fanfiction and find new fanart. We strongly encourage for everyone to nominate different writers and artists for the next quarter, so to spread the love of this fandom around.

Additional information:

The anime team worked closely with Takabayashi sensei and GEG at the beginning, this is why the earlier drama cds that came out with the anime dvd boxes were so closely connected to the novels. Once the anime team started writing their own canon, the connection to the novels was lost. THE STRANGE THING is that the screenplay for most drama cds from the very beginning were assigned to a Takahashi Makio(高橋槇生); which can’t be found to have done any other work anywhere, which means it is most likely a made up pen name to hide the real authors. The author appears throughout most of the drama cds including novel canon and anime canon (excluding game related cds).  Speculation dictates that this is either GEG-san herself, or a combination of Takabayashi sensei and GEG-san. Meaning that even the drama cds that are anime related may have been written by them. It is however, impossible to confirm. The confirmed involvements were clarified in short interviews by Takabayashi sensei and/or GEG-san.

Royal Event: Wedding of Crown Princess Victoria & Prince Daniel of Sweden

On June 19th, 2010 Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria married her true love, Daniel Westling in a ceremony in Stockholm. The wedding was a huge event since Victoria is Sweden’s heir to the throne, so naturally there were around 1100 guests at the ceremony. The couple’s family, friends and fellow royals joined them in the festivities. Now the couple have two children- Princess Estelle (b. 2012) and Prince Oscar (b. 2016).

The bride wore a gown by Par Engsheden, the Cameo Tiara and earrings and Roger Vivier heels.

i gave a year each to them so now they’re both here LMAO also trigger warning for two brief references to suicide in this post below

for the record, i think that kliff in his gaiden and sov incarnations introduces an interesting discussion on the nature of fire emblem endings, which inevitably comes up when bringing up either version getting married post-game. after all, in sov, we know he at least ended up with a son due to his character ending — and i’m assuming said son is genetically his due to the talent in magic plus fire emblem tends to be very clear when a character is adopted. whether or not this means he got married is still up in the air, but he was likely involved with someone at some point post-game. meanwhile, in gaiden, his ending is much more ambiguous, ending at how he was never seen again, which i’ve taken to mean the worst considering how his gaiden characterization is very hopeless and self-deprecating (plus no gaiden adaptation likes keeping him alive u___u) and thus makes it unlikely he ever was wed, but i’ll also admit that, yes, there’s a possibility he lived but just faded into obscurity post-gaiden even if that’s not my headcanon.

in general, i don’t see either version being the most likely to get married, what with what i’ve said about gaiden and then in sov, kliff is characterized to always be yearning for something more and likely wouldn’t make much of a home with his wanderlust, but it’s not impossible! it just does add an additional hurdle to gaining a partner who’d want to be with him i feel, but hey, he could always eventually mellow out and choose to settle down — likely in archanea based on his ending.

but what’s more interesting to me admittedly doesn’t really have to do anything with the theme of these june bride themed posts. it’s how character endings in the franchise have changed. older games, like gaiden, were very fond of character endings that had characters simply disappear never to be seen again. gaiden in particular also wasn’t shy about having downer endings, especially influenced by which characters you let die and which you let live. taking these same characters into a newer age of fire emblem and the writers choose to make the endings have happier tones. gray overcomes his alcoholic depression after tobin dies now, and kliff’s ending gets entirely expanded to reveal he went on across the sea and had a son. 

this reflects how there’s been a shift in more recent games to wanting to know more definitively what happened to characters post-game and also letting the player be able to feel like, yes, this is a happy ending for all their units after the final battle. i haven’t seen many downer endings or even endings that are just ‘they disappeared, never to be seen again’ after the gba games. the only ones i can think of off the top of my head is henry’s single ending in awakening and a number of lysithea’s endings? and the awakening trio in fates but they’re implied to have returned home so those three are accounted for, and as for lysithea, a lot of those endings where she dies young always make sure to try and comment how she did a lot or lived a fulfilling life beforehand. they still follow the pattern of wanting the player to feel comforted and at ease reading the ending cards. i find this evolving focus in the character endings very interesting, and it’s just the easiest to study this change when you have an NES game and then its remake to be able to compare and contrast as a result.
