🌙⋆。°✩ -- Send ❓ and I’ll tell you a plot idea I’d like to explore with our muses!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i tried looking over hol'li's about page for reference , but i am unable to access it . so lets go with wild cookie lore
i'm very inclined with t.abaluga on this one . little one's role as child protagonist means him clashing with another world's issues is both possible and honestly , a bit of a world-ending threat . i mean . . . they're all cookies .
luckily for them , a little dragon would most likely feel guilty eating sentient cookies for the most part . i can see a bit of a cat and mouse dynamic where the cat is that one friendly feline who chooses NOT to consume his little friends in spite his nature . plus the image of dark choc riding this ball of sunshine of a dragon would be adorable .

ok i finished that t9s "part" or whatever last night and i did watch the entire thing while high so dont ask for much but one thing about me i WILL have opinions SO i will say the show is just not good and it isnt just the writing like many claim. the acting isnt there, the chemistry isnt there, the line deliveries are all terrible. and even the og cast isnt doing a good job if im being fr (could indicate it is in fact just the script that's the issue but i just cannot sit here and pretend i think the new leads are strong enough actors REGARDLESS)
jay and leia have the chemistry of two rocks. i think leia is a character with potential, i can see they are trying to make a mix of eric and donna, i think my main issue is the acting. having a redemption arc for jay without even showing us what he's being redeemed for is boring as hell. yes you told me a million times he was a player. i didnt get to see it though. so this redemption does nothing for me
i think people are underestimating just how much the acting is hurting this show. i dont necessarily think t7s is a show with good writing but i can assure you i will have fun lol. and the acting was excellent like at least 95% of the time... at the very least....
jay and nate are the best characters and the only two decent actors but can you really compare them to say kelso and fez? i dont care if you people dont like kelso and fez as characters, the acting was good, the body language was good and their chemistry was good.
i think nikki and nate are an interesting dynamic there's lots of potential there, again, not trying to be rude but the actress doesnt really sell it though.
gwen has to be a lesbian like i cannot read this girl as straight im sorry. i do love the character but i dont think the actress is selling it either🙈 less comparing her to hyde (she's too put together imo!) and more comparing her to fez (straight?)
ozzie is like a gay stereotype but i dont necessarily think that's a bad thing? like if they want to have a character be unapologetically gay that's cool, my main issue is again, the acting. ALTHOUGH ive heard this actor is particularly young so i feel extra bad saying it lol.
as for the adults. red and kitty both seem very odd to me, kitty is TOO crazy and red is too.... all talk no action. however i try to rationalize both because i think people start changing when they age, your crazy grandma does get crazier and your grandpa will probably be nicer to you than he was to your dad. but idk if this is enough of an explanation lol
first half had no plot but it picked up on the second half with shenanigans such as the shoplifting, the unplanned party, that kind of thing
which brings me to another point. this type of show doesnt work in under 20 episodes. this is a sitcom you NEED filler. give it AT LEAST 20 episodes or you're doomed to fail im sorry. i'd say 25 is a perfect number but let's aim lower baby (expectations on the ground)
the tone is completely different to t7s, i feel like t7s has very crude humor and sometimes i would even call it dark comedy. t9s is how many people have pointed out before, too disney channel, with the shocking contrast of characters talking about sex alcohol and drugs. which just makes for a weird experience lol
there's lots of jokes thrown in there that feel SO t7s. but like i said before, everything inbetween is so disney channel, it's a very odd contrast and the acting isnt good so the jokes are funny and all, but very out of place. and it's like. trying to eat just the marshamellos out of your cereal..... like.... you gotta get through a lot of boring to get to that one fun thing
the timeline doesnt make any sense and also it ruins canon even more, but i have chosen to ignore this as canon like this just doesnt exist. i always say i havent watched s8 and dont count it as canon, so no obviously t9s is not canon for me either, im literally just bored out of my mind lol
did it improve from last season? yes, it just wasnt enough. and like i said, we're looking for gorgeous not cute!

@chasersglow said : ✔ For any muse you like honestly! gimme ↬ a quick and easy plotting guide
My muse(s): dr. ratio ( bold ) & dan heng ( italics ) & caelus ( underlined ) — i’ll keep it to hsr muses but there is always the possibility of expanding to genshin or others
Do I know your muse(s): yes | no I a little | tell me about your muse
Setting: our verse | my verse | your verse | modern | alternate universe | other
our verse can also apply to mine and yours as well — i could see modern for all 3 but ratio might need more establishing — they could be teachers or something perhaps ? in a modern context
Pre-established relationships? yes | no I depends on the relationship
i do think veritas and himeko will interact in 2.1 which im so excited for but we can always discuss potentials like how they might have been students in the past
Possible relationships: friends | ( former ) classmate | co-worker | roommate | family, real or adopted | dating or blind date I married | friends with benefits | unrequited love | lending a hand | teacher - student | rivals | allies | partner-in-crime | enemies | protecter - guarded | business partners | spy - infiltrated | manipulator - manipulated | star-crossed | first meeting | other
i would love to explore any of these sections despite it mostly already established in hsr but i think there’s definitely aspects where we can weave it into our own dynamics — that being said veritas and himeko are a blank slate and if anything comes to mind lmk and i’ll do the same
I'm in the mood for: fluff | angst | horror | romance | humor I crime | hurt / comfort | action | supernatural | slice of life I crack | dark threads | light threads | any genre | multi-para l shorter para | one-line | any length | plotted threads | unplotted threads | other
honestly we could spin it however you feel like — veritas is just fussy but dh and caelus are flexible and up for any quality himeko time
Feel free to: message me ooc l message me ic | tell me your ideas | write a starter | answer one of my opens | send a meme I reblog this with your preferences - let's find common interests!
if you want to talk or anything my ims are always open and if you need my disc feel free to ask !

Character Opinion Bingo - GA characters:
Ruka
Hotaru
Narumi
(Idk if I can request multiple characters but hfnkks here they are 😬)
Tumblr media
Ruka:
he quite obviously, especially at the beginning (of his story), has issues communicating with and talking with people, finding more comfort and familiarity with animals until he meets natsume, who is basically a human cat and his first friend. i almost highlighted “works best as part of a dynamic” bc of this but hes a compelling character on his own so i decided against it. his social anxiety (yes) is easy to project onto but he was done dirty in the manga itself bc his storyline of feeling useless and helpless was entirely unfulfilled. he deserved to rly feel like he was capable of making a difference instead of just filling a head count for the main four. natsume rly tried to make him feel useful but ruka shouldve played a larger role in the end to cement how important he is
Tumblr media
Hotaru:
i have complicated feelings abt this girl. i love her potential but the characterization that zoe and i talk abt all the time between ourselves is rly only half canon. i kinda resent her sacrifice and role at the end of the story bc it was all done at the expense of mikans own character development and im ngl i hate that. this might be controversial of me to say but hotaru for most of the story feels more like a catalyst than an actual character. she has pretty static character development and mostly just keeps the story moving (reason mikan goes to alice in the first place, reason mikan goes after z, reason for mikan to return to alice) instead of being more active in the plot. nothing wrong w that kind of character but it just leads to me not being as invested. my fav of her relationships is actually w her brother bc the most growth and change and activeness is visible when she interacts w him, so i think more couldve been done w that maybe 👀 i understand that my feelings abt hotaru are maybe underwhelming but alas. i rly dont dislike her its just that what i love most abt her is half speculation on me and zoes part rather than actual content from the manga lol
Tumblr media
Narumi:
ive said a billion times already that narumi is an enigma to me. on the surface he seems campy and silly and friendly and thats usually what fanfics run with (my own fics are no exception) bc hes great for humor and adds an air of ridiculousness. but the truth is he is DARK! i dont know how i feel abt him half the time bc i dont even get him! hes deceptive and manipulative and even laughs at the abuse happening at the school, esp at the beginning. his relationship w mikan and yuka do humanize him but initially he uses mikan as a device to get to yuka almost like the esp does and he does force himself on yuka at some point. yes he grows to care abt mikan more but the darkness in his character is kinda understated. i think were underselling how fucked up he can be. which doesnt make him a bad character, just a frequently misunderstood one.
and send as many of these as u want! theyre a blast to do!!

ok time to break my silence caused by the fact that i spent all day making this lol too many feels
so.. palm springs thoughts !! and there are manyyyy so buckle up and feeel free to hit me up with either matching or contradicting thoughts or whateveer!! i would LOVE to nerd out about this movie with someone:’)
here comes thoughts and pictures!!
we basically start off with a mr. samberg sex-scene okAYYYYY the mood is set. we love the view
nyles aka. mr. samberg is the most gorgeous man alive and it was a true pleasure to admire him for 90 minutes straight
Tumblr media
CURLS!!????! THEY ARE UNREAL. i shall dedicate an entire post to them
Cristin Milioti is perfect for her role. her acting? *chef’s kiss* I love that she’s not the stereotypical female rom-com lead.
Her chemistry with Andy? Gosh.. Can’t believe Nyles x Sarah is my new main movie-ship!! They play off of each other SO. WELL. Their characters are equally stone cold and bitter, but then again not really, and they both portray it so well!!
“You don’t ned a leg up.” *moans* “Hold my leg up!” i SCREAMED
“Don’t you kiss me.” “Don’t you tell me what to do.” hoW DARE THEY!
Tumblr media
Ok ur basically on love already stop it
The fact that they were just gonna fuck on a blanket on top OF ROCKS?!
Tumblr media
but then again in this movie’s already insane universe it’s prob pretty normal:)
The overall dark, existential humor?? This is what I live and breathe for on a daily basis. Basiaclly both main characters are a BIG MOOD
Nyles not giving a shit vs. Sarah severely freaking out in the beginning is an iconic dynamic
“I am the antichrist” and then the rock falling? For a hot sec I literally thought the movie was gonna take a turn with Nyles being some magical/scientific creature that’d created the timeloop or something idkkk ahhha
Nyles in the suit... ridiculous(ly hot)
Tumblr media
The torture methods Roy uses on Nyles and the fact that he’s not mentally scarred?? How??
On that note I love that Nyles and Sarah keep their memories even if the day starts over. Would’ve been a completely different concept if they had to “meet each other for the first time” every day and it wouldn’t’ve allowed their relationship arc to evolve as it did
Darla is the fucking shit
Nyles in the baseball cap, amirite?
THE BARTENDER TALKING ABOUT HITTING A GUY WITH THE CAR SHE’S CURRENTLY GIVING NYLES A HANDJOB IN IS COMEDIC GOLD
“You fucked Jerry Schlieffen?” “Well he fucked me.” Yes SIR. Andy Samberg’s characters are all bottoms and we’re here for it
Sarah’s tongue click and “nice try” when Nyles asks her about her sex life??
Tumblr media
IDK WHY BUT SO GOD
Randy is hella annoying. That’s it. That’s the tweet.
THIS ENTIRE SCENE:
Tumblr media
the fact that they both start waking up smiling because now at least they have each other 🥺😭🤯
uhm i love a good ship that’s like... best friends to lovers and the montage of them basically becoming besties killed me
this outfit Y E S:
Tumblr media
sarah falling off the car and nyles laughing it off is relationship goals
the crashing plane I LOL’ED
okay so... big moment... the DANCING AND MATCHING OUTFITS? THEY ARE MY DREAM TEAM. Also how excited they are running away from the bar 🥺
IM POSITIVE THIS IS THE MOMENT NYLES KNOWS! LIKE HE DOESN’T ADMIT IT TO HIMSELF COMPLETELY BUT HE KNOWS
Tumblr media
the bomb in the cake and french pirate-skit? so fucking random but i lovee it because it’s so them
*DRUM ROLL* PERHAPS MY FAVORITE MOMENT IN THE ENTIRE MOVIE:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
STORYLINE WISE AND VISUALLY A++++
the deep talks by the fire were SO well written. they were actually deep and genuine, allowing the characters to grow and opening up to us as viewers but also remained fun and witty
sarah trying to get nyles to admit he cares for her and him joking it off??? the flirtinggg
really wish we’d gotten to know more about what nyles meant with “it drifts away: just like they all do.” because it really seemed to trigger something within him. Like WHO “They”???
the dinosaurs lmao no comment but at least they got a cute cuddly moment
from the very first millisecond inside the tent you can CLEARLY tell Sarah is just dying to do something about them!!!
the disbelief on nyles’ face when sarah says “lets just get it over with” because she’d clearly stated he didn’t want to and even though he obviously did he’s respected it and not done anything further about it oh babey
we love some good making out:’)))
NYLES HALTING TO TAKE IN THE MOMENT EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO SCREAM INTO THE VOID
Tumblr media
i will die for a post-sexy timez cuddle and how sarah is trying to staying awake to be besides him is just *explosion*
Tumblr media
this has to be *the moment* she realises
and they’re both sooooo fucking happy when they wake up after damn love me like that pls
THE GROOM BOOO FUCK OFF CAN’T EVEN BE BOTHERED TO REMEMBER HIS NAME CHEATING SCUM
THIS FACE:
Tumblr media
Baby is trying so hard and is so cute and nervous about it. SARAH LISTEN TO HIM HE LOVES YOU.
HE FELT GOOD WAKING UP BECAUSE OF YOUUUU, GIRL. DO NOT CALL IT “FUN”, SARAH
“Going to bed maybe just got a little better” 😭😭😭😭
The entire cop scene is just pure insanity, very Lonely Island and I’m here for it even though I just want Sarah to rEALLY LISTEN TO WHAT NYLES IS TRYING TO SAY
“Pain is real” oh babey that means SO MANY THINGS 🥺💔
“I followed you into that cave because I liked you!” like jake would say: don’t love how we got here but we’re going where i want
“pretentious sad boy” me
not shocked that they’ve hooked up before because c h e m i s t r y but don’t like how it got out :)))
why is nyles’ one sleeve shirt rolled up? im triggered
drinking pure vodka? oh babey its gonna be okay
WE LOVE A SMART BOI WHO RECOGNIZES HIS GIRL’S PERFUME
Sarah’s parents singing:)) i would cry too, nyles
"I love her.” “I see... That’s interesting” lmao savage
I actually really love Roy’s character. It turns out to be very humble actually and he has some insightful and lowkey poetic that lines i love. Besides that he’s hilarious.
SO the whole time i was wondering how they’d get out of the whole “same day forever”-thing, if they were to. and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they had such a logical way out of it: science. Not anything cheesy like “a true love’s kiss” or “you learned your lesson”. Pure logic and Sarah’s hard work to get there. Huge fan of this.
I will never get over how good Nyles looks waking up and Sarah is xtra pretty in that scene:’)
Nyles just wants to stay in a loop forever because it means for sure that he gets to stay with Sarah forever and I’m lowkey into it but also like lowkey LISTEN TO HER AND GO WITH HER PLAN, NYLES
“I wanna stay with you” *sniffles*
“I love you. How about that?” PRETTY FUCKING GOOD
I love Nyles’ character development. He started off so nonchalant and cold, closed off and by this point he’s the softest, smiliest in love fool I’ve ever seen and Andy does it so good. SAMBERG HEART EYES!!
Tumblr media
“Nothing is real in here” YES SARAH UR LOVE IS
I’m taking Sarah’s asking Nyles to believe in her and leave with her as her first “I love you” because it’s very clear that she wants to leave with him rather than without.
just- this entire scene i ugh <3 <3 <3 <3
BREAKING. UP. WITH. MISTY ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
glass of wine filled to the brim? sarah’s my type of gal
the speech was really beautiful and sweet without being too cheesy and kudos to cristin for really delivering it like a pro! especially her “abe, don’t fuck this up” like yes girl kill him, chop him to pieces with your eyes!!! also camila is such really pretty bride
nyles looks like a cockatoo here :
Tumblr media
nyles taking the shot and smashing the glass into the ground got me 🤭😵😏🥵
“I’m your son” I SCREAM
GIVE THE MAN A WHITE HORSE DAMNIT
Gotta admit Sarah looks like a bomb (lol nu pun intended) ass super hero in her bridesmaid dress and C4-gettup
The sentence ending up being total grammatical gibberish but Nyles trying so. damn. hard is the sweetest thing ever and should and will go down in rom-com history. It’s super romantic but also well-balanced by humor and I just.. so good. This is the kind of characters and relationships I love and wanna write myself
“you’re my favorite person that i’ve ever met” 🥺🥺🥺
“i’d rather die with you than live in this world without you” WHY AM I SO SINGLE SOMEONE LOVEE ME LIKE THIS
okay so idk but “what if we get sick of each other?” “we’re already sick of each other. it’s the best.” is so so so soft, the way nyles says it like it doesn’t matter and is honestly another key moment for me: they’ve experienced basically everything imaginable during their time in the box/loop. they’ve liked, disliked, loved, hated each other and still: he loves her. the fact that nyles knows no matter what happens it won’t stop that because it’s them?? ouch my heart.
this chaotic mess of a pairing?MESSY BOMB BRIDESMAID AND CURLY-HAIR HAWAII SHIRT-BOI!! MY OTp
Them dissing Nyles’ mom on their way into potential death? that’s love, baby
the fUCKING KISSSSSSS MANNNNNNNNNN!!!! SO ICONIC AND THE EXPLOSION IN THE BACKGROUND AND JUST WE DESERVE THIS THEY DESERVE THIS EVERYONE DESERVES THISSSS!!!
Tumblr media
NEVER OVEER THIS EVER FOREVER NEVER
Ok so I was SURE that when it faded to black that it was done and I grew super ficking frustrated because it would leave us with this “the ending is up to whatever you chose”-kinda thing kinda a la Celeste and Jesse where it just feels unresolved and I WASN’T OKAY WITH THAT. So I’m so happy we got to know that it worked and the bebes will live happuilly ever after with Nyles’ shaggy dog:’)
Their hands on each other’s knee >>>>>

ENTM Tumblr Cycle 11
Round 2: Faithful Steed
For Round 2 I brought back our classic “on (or with) a mount” round, in which our models were asked to go and take a shot with their favorite mount in land, sea, or sky.  This cycle, we took out all the color to make it a bit more of a challenge.  The model who showed us how faithful their mount is in black and white or sepia this round was:
Adam Evershot
Congratulations! That’s the second week in a row for a win, so this is a strong start this cycle for returning competitor Adam!  The judges and the community were nearly unanimous this week -  all the elements of this image came together, and the night sky made your sepia colored bird really pop out.
Our guest judge this week was Vederah of Aetherflow Media, who was a primary judge for Cycle 10 and a rotating judge during Instagram Cycle 1. Thank you, Vederah!  Check out her blog, The 13th Deity of Glamour, if you haven’t read it before.  And be sure to visit Aetherflow Media dot com, one of ENTM’s community partners via Hydalaen International.
For all of our models, and their beautiful steeds, the judges have some feedback below the fold.
Judge Vederah
Halia:  I love the sense of regality this shot portrays- tells a story about the character through the glamour and mount choice alone. I do feel like the shot is a touch too dark.  While I like the spotlight type effect, I think the lights could’ve been spaced out just a touch more so the details of the horse’s face aren’t lost in the background.
Adam: This was a very smart mount choice here. I love how the particle effect of the mount melds nicely into the starry night sky in a way that makes them look like constellations. The only thing is I wish the image was a touch more moved to the left- allowing the moon to move into the right portion of the shot. It looks a bit heavy in the lower left hand corner. Having the moon up to the right would tempt the eye to glide across the entire image more.
Ni’ko: This image reminds me of the last shot of an intro from a 70’s sitcom in the best sort of way.  Like I expect someone to come up with some sort of clever theme song about a guy and his mischievous chocobo counterpart. Just makes me smile. I think I just wish a different expression emote would’ve been used on the character- something with a bit more personality to really capture the dynamic of him and his bird.
Yojimbo: I’m a sucker for sunbeams- so I find the lighting in this shot to be quite nice. There was so much potential here, but I think some of that got lost by being so zoomed in on the bird. I think if the camera was moved out more so we could really appreciate the wingspan of the bird (and potentially see what  the character is looking at) this picture would’ve been much stronger.  Careful with overly centered shots as well.  Centered images are great for showcasing glamours, but for most other screenies tends to make the picture feel really cramped.
Kota: I really like how cohesive this shot is- everything from the glam, mount choice, and backdrop all look like they belong together. I just wish the picture was zoomed out some more and panned a bit to the left. That would prevent from clipping the mounts wing and would keep the eye moving across the entire image.
Bria: I know some people prefer high levels of contrast in their black and white images, but I’m the kind of gal who just loves that greyscale. So the coloring of this image is really a treat for the eyes.  My only complaint is that the shot should’ve been zoomed out or moved much lower. When the prompt is for a duo mount/character shot, I prefer to see most, if not all, of the mount.
Yomu: I really like the backlighting effect of this shot. Typically Im more of a fan of seeing all the details and wanting them lit, but this just really works for the image. I just wish there was more happening in the background. The dense fog helps the contrast, but also makes the shot feel very stagnant.
Peaceful: I enjoy the level of greyscale here, as well as how the glamour used matches alongside this mount. However this image does seem very busy- mostly because of the background choice. Not only is the character in the center of the image, but so is a large building in the background and taller trees in the foreground. It’s just a lot competing for the eyes attention. A quieter background would’ve drawn more focus on the roe and his steed where it should be for a prompt like this.
Luma: I like the sense of humor in this shot- cat looks like it’s struggling to hold on for the ride of its life. I just wish that there was a bit more to the image. The background is very dark, and flat- so it removes some of the life and brightness that your characters movements are showing.
Judge Kusuh
Bria: I love how elegant your shot looks this week! Your black dress combined with all the frills and flowing mane of your horse makes it seem like you are a part of some great royal procession or something similar! Normally I’d be hesitant to use another photo in a winter landscape after it being last week’s theme, but I think that for this shot it works! I’m excited to see you outside of the cold environment next week though! Your head facing the camera is what makes the shot for me this week. This is a very simple and straightforward shot, so it’s the little details that are going to stick out! Can’t wait to see what you’ve got next week!
Luma: you instantly get points to uniqueness and making me laugh. I’ve seen many version of the “Noble Steed” theme and I must certainly say you’ve taken a very different approach to it! Now, let’s move on to the actual composition of the shot. Your expression alongside leaning back on the dodo really fill the picture with a sense of triumph and valor; a real juxtaposition of what we the viewer see! My main critique here is of two mall things: lighting and setting. For lighting, black and white can be tricky to ‘color balance’, but I notice your shot has a little bit too much brightness on the left hand side of your model. You can tell this my how the border between your white shirt and the background tends to get a bit fuzzy. Just play with the light balance a bit and see what happens! Next is setting: yes the joke is funny and I love it, but afterwards I have to ask, what else is going on here? With the way the shot looks, I can’t tell where you are or what you’re doing, you’re just kind of in a nameless void. Basically, I feel like I could be slotting out your background for anywhere, be it the fringes, Foundation, Kugane, or the like, and nothing would be lost, or gained. When the main theme of the shot is so simple and readily apparent, then I’m going to start looking at other things to keep me interested in the shot, and without any context given via a specific location, it just leaves me kind of lost. Those are only minor things, though, and I still know I’m going to remember your shot for quite a while!
Peaceful, if I was asked what your theme was outside of the given one, I’d say it was “Metallic”. The metal armor and wings on your mount alongside your own plate armor really tie you and your mount together, which I think is a very important thing; if you are with another photo subject, I like the idea of you all matching. The Shire Gear also matches the setting of the Hinterlands which is another thing that ties your picture all together. Here’s my main suggestion for you this week: you appear to be in motion, given that you are both flying and your mount is moving forward. However, you are centered in the shot, which actually cuts out any feeling of movement for me. This is where the Rule of Thirds comes in quite handily actually, as having yourself either to the left or right would preserve the sense of motion; it would look like you were either just entering or leaving the shot. As a rule of thumb to remember: center  balance is good for portraits or still subjects, while off-balancing the photo is good for dynamic and mood shots. You’ve shown marked improvement already from last week’s shot to this one, so I can’t wait to see you go further!
Yomu: I’d like to start of by saying that you’ve really nailed the ‘menacing silhouette’ look here, both with your armor, and the way you’ve set up your lights! This plus the perfect placement of where you’re standing makes me imagine that I’m out on a dark and stormy night, I hear strange sounds in the distance, I’m all alone, and I look off into the distance to see this image! It’s spooky, but in a way I really enjoy and want to see more of! I’m sure I sound like a broken record at this point in the critiques but I feel my suggestion for you is one that I’ve found applies to few pictures here: the background doesn’t add to the picture. The theme of being on/near a mount is a very simple one, and to balance that simplicity, every other part of the picture needs to be a deliberate choice. I will say, for this one, the clouded background does feel very deliberate, but I’d need some sort of confirmation on that. If the stormy background was by choice, then my main suggestion would be to zoom out a bit so can see if you’re in the air or just on a really high hill, I feel like I need that knowledge. Either way, wonderful shot this week, and I can’t wait to see more!
Kota: Honestly, I didn’t think of the Manta Ray as one of the first things that comes to mind when I think “faithful steed” but you really convince me! Every element here plays into the tying the whole picture together: the Sui-no-Sato attire, the underwater elements, and the palace glowing in the background all remind me that in this setting, this guy is the typical faithful steed! The fact that your mount also takes up most of the frame also really conveys the size of this sea pancake. Here’s my main suggestion for this week: I know from experience that sepia is a filter that can be really hard to work with, and there are some parts around your face and body that are kind of dark. Having a softer light (like...type 2 or 3) closer to you would balance some of that out! My suggestion is pretty minimal this week because I’m really happy with what you put forward, and I can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned for the next shot!
Judge Terrini
Adam: You have really nice framing for this shot and I love the looks of this Sepia tone to keep things in with a sense of heaven and earth. Your glamour keeps you popping for the most part, but one down side is you legs don't stand out much and your bird fades into the rocks below you. If you had a little more distance between yourself and the rocks you would have avoided the blending from making the shot sepia.
Bria: I don't get much meaning out of this shot except a lady out for a leisurely ride in the snow. You look very striking, but the grayscale makes your mount fade into the landscape and I do not get a sense of comradery that the theme of "Faithful Steed" makes me think of. The Elemental does give a nice illumination for the composition but it doesn't add much for the story.
Haila: This is a very nice use of the Sepia tone by making the Underwaterscape look like it might be on land. The glamour choice connects you with your choice of setting and the coloring helps you keep a stark contrast to your background. The framing gives an impression of a Lady escaping from home but looking back with worry and concern, as if leaving something important behind.
Kota: Your appearance here makes me think of a warlord to rival Yotsuyu. Your lighting is used well to highlight yourself and your horse, but the glamour choice at this angle isn't the most flattering with the clipping. Still a nicely striking image.
Luma: The simplicity of your background is a bit underwhelming, but the expression and playfulness in riding the Dodo is just delightful. The story you're spinning just warms my heart with all the details on your glamour and lighting used to highlight in the monochrome.
Ni'ko: I love how you really brought home the idea of just starting out here in the Shroud, wearing your starter gear with a starter chocobo in the starter zone. Your framing is spectacular, but I think you might have been able to play with the lighting a bit more to pop out in the sepia. Still a lovely shot that plays with the nostalgic monochrome beautifully.
Peaceful: You look awesome with this regal bearing, but you still need to watch your composition. Pay attention to the flow of the picture and ask yourself about everything you see. Are you trying to frame something with the raised wings and do you want to do that? Make it meaningful. Does the dome add to the picture or should you angle the shot so that it's not in frame? Are there any elements of yourself that aren't standing out from the background? If there are, you can add lighting our adjust the angle so that element changes to have a contrasting backdrop. Keep improving!
Yojimbo: The shadowing outlining with the lens flare of light is a lovely effect here, but the pillar of rocks directly behind you ruins the effect a bit and detracts from your style. The left of the image is fairly empty and the framing would have been nicer shifted to the right with that pillar to the left of you than directly behind you.
Yomu: You are a striking figure in your dark glamour on your dark horse against the light backdrop on the light ground. I love the image of you climbing up from the right of the image but I would have liked to have something to the left to imply where you're going and give me a bit more to enjoy here.
Judge Ona
Haila: I am in love with this image. Your composition is spot on. Normally, I don’t like images that are super centered but this one works perfectly. I love the spotlight effect on this, highlighting your face and the horse. I love the shine across the top of his (her?) mane and the draping of the barding.
Your dress matches fantastically with the flowing barding of the steed. It compliments the other beautifully. Your headpiece may blend a tiny bit too much with the background, however it does not detract from the overall image. I love how you are not looking at the viewer. Its almost as if you are sitting on top of this noble steed, proud and wondering where the day will take you.
I would have loved to see a different background. I do not know how this location adds to your image, and although it does not necessarily take away, I feel as though a different location could have added more depth and told a larger story. It looks like it is outside of your home, but I cant quite see enough of it to tell.
Overall, however, I absolutely love this image! Amazing job Haila!
Adam: If someone asked me to capture a bird in flight, I immediately think of outstretched proud wings soaring into the sky. You have captured this idea in this one image! It is fantastically lovely and I am utterly impressed that you somehow managed to make the bird look, well, proud. Smug may be a better word!
Adam, this use of sepia tone is fantastic! It really helps to accentuate the moon and stars and provide a lovely warm feeling to the image. If this was done in a b&w color it would have definitely felt colder and less carefree. I absolutely love how the bird’s body follows the same curve as the mountain range. My only real nit-pick I have is that the birds right wing seems to be paper-thin at this angle. I don’t really know how to fix this, other than to rotate the image, but that may have ruined the composition altogether.
Your depth of field plays to this images’ strengths by sharpening just enough to have the small crisp stars, while causing the aural blur of the bird’s effect. I would have liked to see the tiniest bit of light or separation between the ridge and the underside of the bird, as they tend to blend together the littlest bit. Keep up the stunning images!
Yojimbo: Yoji! That sun flare is beautiful! I love playing with them myself! I love the use of them in JJ Abrams films, and I think that is why they are of special significance to me! Regardless, I love how the flare peaks through the space between Heaven on High and the bird’s wing. Its great placement! I would have liked to see more light on your face and the bird, however. I also would have liked to have you looking at the camera, or just not away from it. Don’t get me wrong, the sun flare is smexy and all, but this competition is about YOU! Next time, try spinning the camera around to throw a light on your face and the breast of the bird!
Final thing, when taking images of a bird in flight, it is important to capture them looking like they are actually flying. When the birds wings and pulled up as you have in this image, it appears to be landing, not necessarily taking off. If you pause the wings when they are outstretched more, it will appear more graceful and less constricted. Overall, I love your placement of the bird in the image, and I absolutely love the contrast in color. I look forward to seeing your next image!
Peaceful: You look so stoic in this image. Your glam and the armor on the horse, both heavier and more battle ready, pair well together.  I imagine that you are flying to a battle on your faithful steed. I do love how the wings are outstretched, however they are clipped at the top of the image, and I would have liked to see the entire wing, especially with how centered the image is, to really put the focus of the image on the steed and you, not just you.
I am wondering why you chose this location, as it is a very busy location. With so much going on behind you, it almost causes your facial features to blend a little too much to the building behind. I love the Gubal Library for screenies, however, I think a different angle or a different location would have worked better for this image. I would like to see you play a little bit with the depth of field in your images. Everything is very clean and crisp, and I know too much can be just as bad as none-at-all, so I caution you to go all out and blur the entire background. However, if you play with it a bit, it might work enough to your benefit to give a slight blur to your surroundings and allow for you to shine a bit more.
I look forward to seeing your image next week!
Judge Nadede
Halia Wetyios:  This is a nice image from you this week Halia and like how it is lit. However, your image this week is too centered and feels very static. Wish that you would have turned the steed towards the audience so we could get a profile of your mount instead of a side view. Also would have liked for you to maybe do an emote or have your mount moving so that the overall image not feel very static. I would suggest to find ways to make your image interesting and find a way to tell a story with it instead of just a pretty shot. I look forward to what you come up with for next week.
Adam Evershot:   Adam your image this week was one of my favorites. I do wish that you had put a lil bit more light to bring out your face more and along the bird’s underside so that it did not blend in with the rocks in the background. Look into examples of rim lighting to get an idea of what I’m talking about. Keep up the good work and can’t wait to see what you come up with for next week.
Ni’Ko Shae:  Another one of my favorite images for the week. It is a very cute, almost candid shot that you have taken. I do like how you and your chocobo are interacting with each other. The only thing that I found distracting in your image is the baby choco at the bottom of your shot. Always ask yourself if there is anything in your image that might even seem remotely out of place, and if so, should I chance it or take it out. Overall, good job.
Yomu Kazul:   Yomu, another one of my favorites this week. When I think of black and white images, I tend to think of stark contrast between the lights and darks within the image, which you have going on here. Only thing I can think of that I would have liked to see you try would be figuring out how to bring out rim lighting casted onto you, especially on your face to bring it out just a bit more. Keep up the good work!
Kota Tumet:   And yet another favorite of mine for the week. Good job Kota. I like this a lot more than what you had submitted last week. I actually like the use of space within your image. Only thing that I suggest working on is lighting, especially close to your face to bring it out just a bit more. I also like the fact that you were the only one that did a mount suited for underwater and have an underwater shot. Good job and keep up the good work.

Shipping Info!
answer the following for your muse so people know how shipping works on your blog.
Tumblr media
WHAT IS YOUR OTP FOR YOUR CHARACTER?:
AkuAtsu & DazAtsu ( help I love them so much )
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO WRITE WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?:
Mmmm pretty much anything goes? as long as both me & my partner agree to it beforehand / talk it over before anything happens. I am guilty of writing toxic dynamics & other horrible stuff for the muses I write. But I’m also a firm believer of fluff / angst / dark / humor & most things under the son. ( except maybe for r*pe because I won’t actually write that with anyone ).
HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?:
I would say for muse-wise, anything that exceeds 5 years is a bit much for me as there is too much going on there. Atsushi is 18 so he can be paired with older characters but that all depends & I have yet to encounter that. But overall? the max has to be 10 years, unless i happen to roleplaying a supernatural muse then it gets kinda blurry.
ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?:
Maybe? But not at all. A lot of times I get invested a bit too early in a ship & never really bring it up to the other person in question. I will ship with most people granted that we talk OOC & throw headcanons at each other or something. But again it just depends, sometimes I am selective, other times, Im not.
HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY ARE CONSIDERED NSFW?:
the second the muses are feeling each other up without any clothes, then its NSFW
WHO ARE THE CHARACTERS YOU SHIP YOUR CHARACTER WITH?:
Lucy Chuuya Junichirou Kyouka ( only platonically ) Gin ( Help I love Gin & Atsu together so much )
DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?:
I mean??? it would be nice if someone told me they wanted to ship. I don’t expect people to tell me though, in most cases I just throw my muses to the void & see what happens lol. If Im told then fully expect me to go from 0 to 100
HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP?:
I like to ship a lot lmao. It can be platonic ( sibling, parental, co-worker, ride or die, friends who are confused for lovers ) ships or romantic* ( toxic, abusive, mutual pining, one-sided / pining, first crushes etc. ). Im a sucker for all of these.
ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE - OR - LESS?:
Ship more or less. Shipping is never the point of me roleplaying, but if it happens then expect me to be on board immediately.
ARE YOU MULTISHIP?:
Yes.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SHIP IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM?:
AkuAtsu / DazAtsu / GinAtsu ( I can’t choose. Send Help. )
FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU?:
Punch me in the face. Im kidding. Please just talk to me about a potential ship ! I love talking to people about the possibilities! Heck even send in a shippy meme & I will answer it as best as I can. I literally love talking about muse dynamics even if nothing comes out of it because that’s the fun part of it all.

(this is just my own opinion dont get angery or feel personally attacked)
idk why i just dislike reverse edgy AUs so much
i just feel an aversion to them like “ugh boy this again” underfell is Bad and reverse falls is Bad (from a worldbuilding standpoint at least) because i just …it ruins the what makes the characters loveable and unique? and the evil guys they are made into in the AUs share all the same old cunning lawful/neutral evil tropes and it’s just so bland they have no real depth theyre evil Jus Becaus. like in the reverse falls au the pines family are now the gleefuls and work the tent of telepathy. even gideon gleeful himself in the actual show has more of a personality than rev dipper and mabel remember scanty and kneesocks from paswg?? thats all i can think of. but in paswg it worked because it fit with the anime trope satire humor of the show
basically what im saying is evil alter-ego versions of characters people make in reverse or dark AUs are just really two dimensional and they’re just OCs at that point because they have drifted that far from the depth and charm of the normal characters.
what i look for in an AU is the same characters but put in different situations, but they retain who they are at heart and any derived characteristics are a result of events that happened within the AU that changed them as dynamic characters (not static)
stan falls into the portal instead of ford. That is interesting. the series of GF but it takes place in the florida keys instead of oregon. that is lighthearted and has a lot of potential. au where dipper accepts ford’s apprenticeship and weirdmageddon doesnt happen. how would mabel change without her brother? how would dipper change without his sister? do stan and ford ever reconcile?
i feel like having such a strong opinion about this would make me a critical writer but i’m not really sure

February Wrap Up
Despite being the shortest month of the year, I read 7 books and 10 graphic novels, or 17 things in total. It was also another month where I read a lot of diverse genres: I read 10 contemporaries, 4 of which were thriller/mysteries, and 6 of which were romance; 4 sci-fi, 1 speculative historical romance, 1 fantasy romance and 1 historical fantasy. Instead of doing highest to lowest, since I have so many graphic novels and some are part of the same series, I decided to group them by the date read, so without further ado, let’s get into it.
Fence vol. 1-3 by C S Pacat and Joanna the Mad (3, 4, 3 stars)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wanted to read this series for a while, and I finally binged it this February. Fence follows Nicholas, a young fencer with a complicated past and poor background who comes to Kings Row, a school with the fourth best fencing programs in the country. There, to his shock he finds Senji, a junior champion with Olympic aspirations; and the two can’t stand each-other.
This series is just a whole lot of fun. It’s written like a Western style sports anime/manga, and Joanna the Mad’s artstyle is very reminiscent of manga, with lots of action line, pretty boys and expressive, large eyes. The first volume is a fine set up of Nicholas’ first confrontation with Senj, and arriving at the school, while the second and third volume deal with the qualifications at the school for who will make the fencing team. As Nick is on an athletic scholarship, he has to qualify or he gets kicked out, but like many of these series go, he has some stiff competition, and develops friendships with said competition.
I really enjoyed the dynamic between all the characters, especially Senji and Nicholas, and if you’re a fan of sports anime, cute queer comics, or painfully slow-burn enemies to lovers stories, check this out.
Check, Please! Year 3 by Ngozi Ukazu (4 stars)
Tumblr media
The first thing I read in February was the third volume of Check, Please! This was as cute as the previous 2 volumes, as it follows Bittie’s third year in college. What struck out to me upon rereading this specific year, is that it actually has way more angst and conflict than I remember it having; there’s a lot here about Bittie and Jack coming to terms with not just their long distance relationship, but also coming out and finding acceptance within the confines of a major sports league like the NHL. It also deals a lot with Bittie coming to terms with the hockey team changing as Ransom, Holster and Lardo graduate. Overall, a good continuation of the story.
Deadly Class vol 1-2 by Rick Remender and Wes Craig (3, 2, 2 stars)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Deadly Class is a series that if I had started reading when I was in late high school, early college, I know I would have loved. However now, as an adult, I find it grating, pretentious, and far too extreme for no real reason. The story aspects that I liked the most, I’ve also already seen or read in far better works; it doesn’t help that up to volume 3, there are only 2 characters left that I remotely care about, and one of them just got introduced in that volume.
The series follows a group of kids who go to an elite training school for assassins. We mostly follow Marcus, the son of a Nicaraguan expats, who ends up at the school after he meets Saya and a few of the other students during a stick up. Though the first volume started out promising, volumes 2 and 3 kept getting less and less good, and unless something drastically changes in my life, I can’t see myself continuing on with this series.
Contagion by Erin Bowman (3 stars)
Tumblr media
This is a sci-fi book set in the near-distant future, and it follows the crew of Odyssey, a research vessel that is sent to Black Quarry to investigate a distress signal. Once there, the crew realizes that something bad has happened, as they find bodies and a potentially deadly thing haunting them; and the mysterious ‘young boy’ the engineer of Black Quarry warns them about is not making matters any easier.
This was a rather mediocre sci-fi, but I still enjoyed it. As it’s part of a duology I will definitely be finishing the story out, but as is it doesn’t do too much with this well-tread premise. Bowman does have a good grasp on action and suspense, but a lot of the character decisions in the novel were akin to ones characters in Blumhouse horrors make, and considering most of them are some form of scientists, that wasn’t an ideal route to take. Still if you enjoy stories about aliens, sentient viruses, isolated space incidents and horror, it’s worth checking out.
Prince Charming by Rachel Hawkins (4 stars)
Tumblr media
This is the first book in a series of contemporary romances, all centering around the fiction crown family of Scotland. In this first novel we follow Daisy, the younger sister of Eli, who gets engaged to Andrew, the Crown Prince of Scotland. After an incident in a parking lot with her ex, Daisy gets blackmailed into spending the summer in Scotland with her sister and fiance, and get acquainted with the royal family; cue shenanigans, romance and lots of sisterly yelling.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book; it was very funny and entertaining, and I haven’t related to a characters quite like I did to Daisy, since Princess Mia Thermopolis. While there are some tropes these stories tend to have, Hawkins manages to avoid a lot of the cliches, and she actually has some really good commentary on the economy of the royal family, the outdated and outright sexist traditions, the close-mindedness, and the prejudice that both sides are steeped in at the start. I found the romance very cute, the shenanigans were funny and entertaining, and I will definitely be reading the sequel.
Heart of Gold Part 1 by Eli and Viv (4 stars)
Tumblr media
This is an webcomic that I stumbled onto by complete accident, but it blew me away. It follows Ionel, a concert pianist who is slowly losing his sight, and Kasper a priest with the power to heal people. Ionel moves to the small town and starts attending mass, in hopes that Kasper will heal him, but every time it gets close to, or his turn, Kasper refuses to help him. Through his attendance, the two become close, with Kasper seeming to have a crisis of faith, all while people from the town start dying; and they might be connected to Kasper.
This comic drew me in almost immediately. The art is absolutely beautiful, and it’s hard to believe that this is a free web comic. The story too is very mature and interesting; it deals a lot with religion, faith, and sacrifice, and the slow build of Isonel and Kaspar’s relationship feels very natural. I can’t wait for Act 2, and I’m really hoping the answers to what is happening in the town deliver on the build up we’ve gotten so far.
Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson (3 stars)
Tumblr media
I heard about this book a lot when it came out, and I decided to check it out, since it’s a mystery following a girl who wants to become an FBI agent, coming to Ellingham Academy, a Montessori type private school, to solve an old cold case; that of the founder, Albert Ellingham’s daughter’s kidnapping.
I won’t lie; this book did not live up to the hype for me, though it was entertaining. I have a much longer and more detailed review of why, but it mostly boiled down to a few things. First, I didn’t like that it ends of a cliffhanger, and we get no answers; this is a bit odd for a mystery, especially a series which has more than two books. Second, I thought the way the past and present mystery connected wasn’t very well done, and I kept losing interest in the past, because of the way the book was written. And finally, I found some of the writing dry and lacking in proper atmosphere.
However, I still enjoyed the story, and the main character of Steve, and I will probably read the sequel, since I still want to know what happens.
S.T.A.G.S. by M A Bennet (3 stars)
Tumblr media
S.T.A.G.S. is a British thriller, set in Saint Aidan the Great’s School or STAGS, a private boarding school with a long tradition. When new student Greer gets invited to a weekend of huntin, shootin, fishin at the estate of the leader of the most popular clique in the school, Henry, she accepts, not knowing what waits for her; and what does is a nightmare that might turn deadly, where the hunting, shooting, and fishing, might be a little too real and dangerous.
I really enjoyed this thriller; I thought it was entertaining, fast paced and had a plot that kept me invested to the end. I also weirdly enjoyed the subtle romance between two of the characters, which isn’t often the case.
However, this book isn’t without it’s problems. The ending is a bit predictable, and having seen the Riot Club, I knew what I was getting into, in terms of what the weekend actually entailed. I also found that the book lacked a lot of tension, because we found out early on who lives through it. However, it was still enjoyable, and if you like these types of thrillers set in boarding schools or private estates, I think you will enjoy this one.
Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson (4 stars)
Tumblr media
Like Prince Charming before, I was genuinely surprised at how much I ended up enjoying this book, because when I started it, I was really caught off guard by the humor. However, once I got used to it, this became one of the funniest things I read this month.
Undead Girl Gang is a horror/comedy that follows Mila, a Mexican-American teenager who practices Wicca. After her best friend Riley supposedly commits suicide, just a week after a double suicide of two of her other classmates, Mila decides to perform a spell and bring Riley back; but instead she brings all three of the girls back. The problem? They can’t stand each-other, and if they don’t want to be walking zombies, they need to stay within a 100 steps of Mila.
This book was hilarious and very dark. I really enjoyed all the relationships between the girls, and I found the look at grief very well done and moving. The ending was climactic, and the conclusions Mila comes to worked well for me; if you enjoyed the Craft, Mean Girls or Heathers, check this out, you will probably like it.
Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi (5 stars)
Tumblr media
This was by far my favorite thing I read this month. I struggled writing a review for it, because I just didn’t know how to talk about it without just relegating to spoilers and gushing about the characters and the puzzles. It’s a book that follows a group of thieves, who steal magical artifacts, each with their own motivations and goals. When they steal a magical Chinese compass, the discover that it leads them to a Horus Eye; an artifact so powerful it can show them the way to the fabled Fragment of Babel.
It’s the Mummy, mixed with National Treasure, mixed with Ocean’s 11. It’s fun heist story, set during the Exposition Universelle, and if you are like me at all and like any of these things, you will love this book.
Sleepless vol. 1 by Sarah Vaughan (4 stars)
Tumblr media
This was probably my favorite of the graphic novels I read; it’s a fantasy that follows Poppy, the illegitimate daughter of a King, and a famous star reader. When her father the King dies, Poppy is forced to navigate court life, as his brother takes the throne, but things become increasingly hard as several assassination attempts are made, and her Sleepless protector Cyrenic starts drifting.
There’s just something about this series that ticks all my boxes. The art is absolutely gorgeous, the story is interesting and a bit different from the usual fantasy I read, and the Sleepless vow is a very unique type of magic. To top it off, I really like the two leads, Poppy and Cyrenic and I’m curious to see what turn the story will take after the ending we get in issue 6.
Motor Crush vol. 1 by Brenden Fletcher (3 stars)
Tumblr media
I’ve been meaning to start this series for a while, and I finally did in February, and man was it a great time to do this, fresh after seeing Battle Angel Alita.
This follows Domino, a bike racer, who is trying to make it big and qualify for the world circuit. However, to survive she needs Crash, an illegal substance that is used to fuel the bikes in this universe, but she needs to inhale it. Through the first volume we find out a bit about her mysterious past, her ex-girlfriend Lola, and a man who seems to either want to help her or kill her; all while she races to win the qualifications and the Crash.
This series was a fun, fast paced ride, but it’s not without its problems. The art is beautiful, but the story needs some more polishing; there’s too many plot threads and not enough time to develop them. I can’t imagine how things will resolve in the next volume after that climax, but I will definitely be continuing it; the world was gripping enough to have me enjoy it, and Domino was a character I definitely rooted for.
Umbrella Academy vol. 1 by Gerard Way (3 stars)
Tumblr media
Since the show is all anyone talks about, I decided to finally start this series and boy is it cooky. We follow the Umbrella Academy, a group of 7, who were adopted by a crazy millionaire savant Reginald Hargreeves, after being born in a spontaneous event all over the world where 48 mothers gave birth. Hargreeves trains the kids to stop the apocalypse, and now 10 years after his death brings 6 of the 7 back to his house, unaware that the apocalypse is here; and it’s a direct consequence of their reunification.
There is a lot of good and a lot of weird in this series. The characters have glimpses of interesting personalities and the idea of 7 kids being raised from birth to be superheroes by a man who is a British version of Ra’s al Ghul is interesting. But unfortunately the series doesn’t fully explore this, and the ending is really abrupt. The humor is quirky, and sometimes it works, but more often it makes the tone weirdly uneven, as we swing from graphic, albeit cartoon violence to slapstick. I think the show does a much better job with the tone, and while this first volume gets a lot right, it’s by no means perfect.
Sadie by Courtney Summers (4 stars)
Tumblr media
This was by far the hardest book I’ve read in a long time. It’s a mystery that follows Sadie, a girl who disappears after her younger sister is brutally assaulted and murdered; and West McCray, a podcast host who is retracing her steps, trying to find her. It’s a book about grief, assault, pedophilia, violence and the lies we tell ourselves so we don’t have to think about what happens to girls in this world, and it’s dower, dreary and oh so real. It made me feel things I don’t normally do when I read, and if you can stomach the content, I recommend it. If you can, get the audiobook; it’s a full cast and the podcast bits are done like a real podcast, which makes the story feel that much more immersive.
The Disasters by M K England (5 stars)
Tumblr media
I needed something light and fun after the last two things I read in February, and this was the perfect way to end my month. This was my favorite book I read so far, maybe even more than the Gilded Wolves. It’s a sci-fi that follows a group of 4 rejects from Space Academy who have to work together to survive a terrorist attack, and prevent another one from happening. It’s fast paced, incredibly entertaining, and I fell in love with all the characters.
I absolutely cannot wait for whatever else M K England publishes, and I loved this to pieces.
