Maybe Curly was a being of Daisuke’s subconscious now…becoming a mental manifestation happened enough with Jimmy’s mind, so this wasn’t entirely out of the question. But then why not Swansea? Surely an imaginary Swansea had more to say to Daisuke.

Or…maybe…it had to be the Captain, because the Captain was grief, and the Captain was guilt, and the Captain was the one thing that knew both feelings enough to relieve them.

That being said, Jimmy was different. He deserved to feel the guilt of abandoning the option to Take Responsibility. But Daisuke was a kid.

since this feels like an unpopular sentiment, i just wanna say officially that minors are welcome on this blog. i think it's important minors have a place to grow and develop their art and skill and the chance to find a community in the rp sphere. just because you're under eighteen doesn't mean you don't deserve a place to express yourself through roleplay and i want to support that as much as possible.

hello everyone!!! for those who may not know me, i'm calie and in the last year i have dedicated myself to making resources for rps whenever i can. i've been unemployed and for over 13 years relying on my meds that currently cost between $190 (R$1,000) and $240 (R$ 1,300) per month, taking in consideration that minimum wage per month here in brazil is $261 (R$1,412) and i rarely get any freelancer job, that won't cover even 15% of my meds. so with a lot of shame, i depend on my parents to keep up my treatment that cannot be discontinued. my city is broken, has no jobs, and i currently have no conditions to move and start over somewhere else. besides, my city had been once of the cities hit by the big flood in brazil for over a month, which made finding a job even more difficult, since establishments are trying to recover from losses. in these last few months, despite needing money, i've been feeling emotionally exhausted and worried with the situation (of expenses and the tragedy in my state), that i simple cannot focus in any project, therefore not being able to take in commissions (that helped me a lot). with all of that being said, i decided to come here, very ashamed, and expose my situation to offer packs of all my sources that i've done in my time as a creator. if you can help me buying any pack, or a ko-fi (source link), that would immensely help in my situation and i'd be really REALLY grateful. under the "read more" are more details about the packs and pricing.

Surprise little starter for @eclipsedevune

Few things could leave Jaheira speechless. One of them had happened at Last Light Inn, when a strange band of tadpoled-yet-not-enthralled people barged in, and she locked eyes with Rowan for the first time, and saw...

"Evune...?"

The name slipped from her lips in a whisper, like a prayer. Her heart lurched, a tight knot forming in her throat, and for a brief, dangerous moment, the vines she had just conjured nearly withered from her distress. But she was quick to recover, quick to school her expression. The High Harper, the Commander — those were the mantles she wore, and she could not falter.

But now… now, she was simply Jaheira.

Perched as a crow atop the Inn’s roof, she watched as that same band set up camp near the lake, right at the edge of the moon barrier. Did the Shadow Curse have taken its toll on her mind? Or age has caught up and she was finally losing her grip? Rowan and Evune were nothing alike. She knew that. So where had that foolish thought even come from?

With a sigh, the crow took flight, descending toward Rowan before shifting back into her humanoid form.

"Don't use water from the lake."

Ah, brilliant. A fantastic way to start a conversation — stating the obvious. Just excellent, Jaheira.

She pressed on, voice firm, composed, detached. "Have your cleric create fresh water, or provide me with enough containers, and I’ll fill them for you. If your group needs soap, towels, or anything of the sort, there’s a dispenser beneath the stairs."

All business. All control. As if she wasn’t quietly unraveling over emotions she couldn’t even name.

She needed more information about this one. And with no Harper's Hold network to rely on, she would have to dig the old-fashioned way. And pray for it to work.

"One of your friends mentioned they were in Baldur’s Gate when the nautiloid took them. Was it the same for you?"

It was a simple question. An innocent enough probe. But depending on Rowan’s answer, Jaheira might just get a clue — a birthplace, a history, anything to quell this gnawing feeling inside her. Or stir it even more.

The beloved of Arceus, what a destiny he was naive about, if only wanted to take a walk on one of his many trips (rarely leaves Sinnoh as he stays in the library most of the time), what would happen to him later. Had spent centuries, millennia, to end up marveling at a world he did not recognize, caressing that peach, one of his first contacts with the environment, those crystalline eyes reflecting a genuine sparkle, so ephemeral.

If only he could stay a little longer like this.

He should be used to calling it that by now, but the name always felt wrong on his tongue. It was essentially the difference between a coffin and a sarcophagus: both meant similar things, but were vastly different in various ways.

He hadn't been there in a long time.

Last time he'd seen it, he had sworn to never return unless he had no where else to see. But nostalgia had called him back. Or maybe it had been Arceus playing some vicious prank on him, toying with his impulse or planting the seed in his brain to return all to see—

"Akari?" The name, like Sinnoh, felt poisonous and wrong on his tongue as it escaped him in a gasp as if he'd been punched in the gut. He wished he'd been able to stop the shocked utterance from escaping him in the first place, as the name felt cursed the way he'd said it.

There was no masking the conflicting emotions crossing his face as the color drained from it. Confusion, shock, discomfort.

That damn kid—

—Why was he there?

Why? Why?! You should be dead! Dead of old age, buried or propped up in some museum, heralded as the great hero, Arceus's Chosen! Not here! Maybe... maybe this is a descendant... ?

He opened, then closed his mouth, uncertain as to what he wanted to say or what he was even supposed to say.

Yeah. Yeah, that has to be it. It can't be him.

Finally, the shock fell away from his face, and he forced a tight smile. "Ah— sorry, haha, you just looked familiar. Need some help there?" He offered, despite every nerve in his body telling him to run and not look back. Maybe he would get lucky and the other hadn't heard the name at all.
