my only and biggest gripe with When The Phone Rings is that the show is basically waxing poetic about how sa-eon is so dramatically in love with hee-joo that the ONLY thing that calmed his nightmares as a kid was watching her practice sign language in the mirror and yet this man NEVER LEARNED KSL???? He didn’t know she could speak and he NEVER LEARNED SIGN FOR HER? IS HE AN IDIOT?

and don’t say “oh he wanted her to keep a distance and live a free life” YOU MEAN TO TELL ME HE DIDNT EVEN LEARN IN SECRET? HIM PRETENDING NOT TO KNOW KSL TO GET LESSONS FROM HER AND WATCH WHAT SHES SAYING AND THINKING WOULD BE MORE IN CHARACTER THAN HIM NOT KNOWING IT AT ALL

like you mean to tell me that control-freakazoid baek sa-eon let it slide that he couldn’t understand what the love of his life was saying? the baek sa-eon that arranged his own marriage and trapped his wife in it? the baek sa-eon that freaks out over his wife talking to her university sunbae? that baek sa-eon？

same with the deaf sister wdym you never learned sign when you were deaf? not that it’s a requirement for deaf/hoh people to learn, but how is your mute sister supposed to translate for you if you still had to communicate with everyone the same way you had to communicate with her? what’s the point of a translator at that point?

No, it's bad. This is terrible.

The 3 day old monster stomps on the ground and glares at the dark haired teenager. Choi Han sits patiently next to the poor, dying monster, one arm pinning its neck down.

"Kill it."

Is this guy really the protagonist? He's making a baby that's three days old hunt a monster. Is this sensible? Kim Rok Soo disagrees. Babies don't do work.

He can't even speak to Choi Han without revealing his Korean identity.

So Kim Rok Soo turns away from the monster.

He discovered the 2nd time he woke up that he has wings. They're decently sized. He still doesn't know what the strange feeling in his blood and the air is, or why he can control it, but he can sort of understand the basics of it due to the instructions written in this body's genetic code.

He turns away from Choi Han and flaps his wings continuously.

As expected, nothing happens at first. The two flimsy things are delicate and not strong at all. When he twists the air, however... he creates lift.

Gusts of wind erupt from underneath him and circle his tiny body on the ground, creating ripples in the grass and flora that spiral out and push against the trees. The whipping of the air hits his ears and creates illusionary thunder, pounding and waiting for him. His heart beats calmly despite this and he focuses more intently as his surroundings grow chaotic.

The powerful current curls under his wings, and he is thrown into the air by the sheer force of it. He makes it above the trees, flapping his wings again and again.

... and he falls right back down. Into Choi Han's waiting arms.

His seventeenth attempt is another failure.

"Really... you are stubborn." Choi Han, the man who survived a hundred years in a forest with monsters and no human contact, mumbles. Kim Rok Soo turns his head away from that judging gaze.

After three days in this world without being able to speak, he had gotten used to Choi Han's one-sided commentary. Usually they were about Kim Rok Soo. The 3 day old monster would reluctantly respond in some way or the other to Choi Han's comments. It seemed to make the words feel less lonely.

Kim Rok Soo settled his head on Choi Han's arm, letting himself go limp. He has no bed, no blanket, and no pillows. He doesn't even have a roof above his head, only the trees. Worse yet, he can't fly and lead Choi Han to Harris Village, either. But honestly, who knows how far Harris Village is. All he could do for now was lead Choi Han to the south.

"Baby?"

Kim Rok Soo pointed his nose in the air to look at the sun's direction but stopped.

Choi Han waited patiently. Kim Rok Soo turned to look at him.

"You are smart." Rok Soo didn't move when Choi Han complimented him. "I thought that could be your name."

He shakes his head vigorously. No way! Baby? He's 3 days old!

"You don't like it...?" The teenager wilted. Still, Kim Rok Soo stares at him and doesn't relent. Choi Han sighs. "I'll come up with another one."

This was the fifth time Choi Han had tried naming him- but every time, without fail, he had received a bad review from the infant in his arms.

Choi Han had no idea that monsters had the capacity to be so intelligent, but the forest is massive, and he's never seen an egg like this one's, so he simply assumed it was another species that he hadn't encountered yet.

The infant makes a cute cooing sound, one it had made numerous times at this point.

It's complaining. The baby monster has complaints and was vocally expressing them. The monster felt more like a person than a pet as he spent time with it, and it was becoming more apparent by the day that it was starting to understand the words that he was saying. It knew immediately that Choi Han was referring to it when he simply said the word, "baby."

It was a startling rate of growth.

Not only was the baby like a person, it seemed to be drawn towards the south of all places, unlike any monster he had seen. Normally monsters naturally sort themselves out, but this one has a mission. Any time Choi Han strayed away from that direction, it would stubbornly find ways to make him continue south.

If it could fly, and if it weren't so lazy and dependent on Choi Han, perhaps it would've left him behind by now.

It's a sobering thought. Choi Han hugs the small red monster closer to himself. He had thought that by keeping it, he would be taking the monster with him. However the reality is that the monster is bringing him with it.

Maybe he'll find the baby's mother in the south.

He didn't want that.

It had already been abandoned in the middle of the forest- the mother, or father, forfeited their rights. Not to mention the fact it was almost eaten right after it had been born. What parent would let that happen to their newly born child?

Choi Han also couldn't imagine that its parent would be so far away. If they didn't want the baby, why would they go so far as to leave it miles from the nest?

The more he thought about it, the less it made sense. So he strokes the red monsters back and stops thinking.

"If you don't like any of those names, shouldn't you come up with a name yourself?"

The monster makes a cooing noise again. It seems to be too lazy to name itself. Choi Han, expecting this, rolled his eyes up and looked out into the vast forest.

The despair had been overwhelming just days ago, and it still is, but he feels his emotions calming down the more he talks to the wine-red creature. Every time he receives a response, his heart swells. It's a strange sensation that he could no longer place, but it feels warm and cozy, and gives him the urge to hug it.

The creature was apathetic towards hugs, it turns out. The first time he wrapped his arms around it and truly let himself curl around it, the monster tensed, then went limp. Every time Choi Han did something similar to a hug rather than the simple act of holding it, the baby would coo, complaining, but go limp in his arms. It could resist but it chooses not to.

It's a tsundere, basically.

Unbeknownst to Choi Han, Kim Rok Soo is simply too tired to fight it.

At some point during the past three days, Kim Rok Soo stopped relying on Choi Han to hold him constantly and instead laid over his shoulders. They were not broad shoulders like a body builder, but they were not small shoulders either, and it let Kim Rok Soo comfortably balance on them as they went on their way.

Why did he decide to lay on his shoulders instead of the easier option of being held?

Because Choi Han's arms are scary. There would be times that Choi Han wrapped himself around Kim Rok Soo and stayed like that. A threat that, if he really wanted to,  Choi Han could kill him in an instant with a simple squeezing motion.

It was incredibly scary but Kim Rok Soo relaxed into it as much as possible. If he could convince Choi Han that he wasn't a threat, he could live, right?

Choi Han never killed him so it must've worked. The never ending warmth of Choi Han's body was nice too, but Kim Rok Soo didn't want to risk his life for a blanket.

So he thought that maybe if Choi Han wasn't inconvenienced by holding Kim Rok Soo all of the time, he wouldn't threaten him as much. So Kim Rok Soo climbed onto the teenager's shoulders and draped himself over them like an expensive fur scarf, except minus the fur, and minus the dead animal.

Choi Han pets his head a lot now that Kim Rok Soo is on his shoulders.

Being a pet can also be a way to getting his slacker life...

No! Choi Han is meant to be the protagonist. Kim Rok Soo will do his job of delivering him to Harris Village and then he's going to find a nice cave and sleep there for a hundred years.

... what?

Well, sleeping for a hundred years does sound nice. Though, the cave part, not so much. If the cave had a bed, then that's better.

He has to get lots of money too.

Gold is good.

yall I’ve decided I want to do a redubbing of the ENTIRETY of voltron!!

This would obviously be a big project, so anyone who wants to be involved in script editing, placing audio, voice acting, etc. PLEASE reach out to me! Most importantly, I am LOOKING FOR VOICE ACTORS!! I imagine the male characters will be the hardest to find voices for, so lmk if you have the voice for that! doesn’t have to be exactly the same as the og as long as it fits the character, of course.

we would probably go episode-by-episode, my best way of communicating would be Instagram dms since I don’t have discord but we would also send emails/google drives of the files needed. Please dm me either here or on Instagram (same username) if you want to be involved!! Voice actors, I would appreciate a voice sample as well so I can properly cast you but we can wait until necessary. EVERYONE WILL GET CASTED!! I imagine we won’t get enough actors to fill each tiny role individually, so if you don’t get the role of paladin you’ll certainly be able to voice multiple side characters, so please stay on standby throughout the entire thing in case you get another opportunity to participate.
