About

Main

Maia grew up in a closed community, the regular world report them to be a cult but in truth they’re a collective of alien human crossbreeds, their species comes from the moon. They live in the closed and protected community for their own protection, the government is aware of their existance and is using them to try and create a new species of human. But Maia hated it, she always wanted to visit the human world, to have that freedom she read about in books, to feel unrestricted and it didn’t help that she didn’t find her own kind attractive. She would much rather find an ‘untainted’ human she likes, one not given to them by the government.

Shortly before she turned 18, Maia had managed to escape with a group of others from what was effectively a compound and they stuck together, acting as family, which they were to an extent and setting up a laundromat where they were mostly open in the night time, never too fond of the sunlight as their eyes and skin were sensitive.

Stranger Things

The group settled in Hawkins and took over the laundromat, due to Maia's more abnormal traits (her eyes and freckles that twinkled in moonlight) they try to keep her away from humans as much as possible. But she kept sneaking out by climbing out the window and when Hopper kept coming across the strange girl with no shoes on he confronted the elders, convincing them to allow her to attend the school, (in verses where she's still school aged of course), as long as she wore contacts that covered the moons in her eyes and she was forbidden to be out after dark so her freckles wouldn't show.

Mike’s breath hitched, exchanging an alarmed glance with Will. “The names they had used to call themselves.”

Dustin nodded grimly. “Exactly.”

“And here I thought Vecna only had a creepy obsession with spiders, not horses,” Hopper grunted dryly, pinching the bridge of his nose.

“But why use this horsemen concept?” Steve rubbed his face wearily. “It’s kind of out of nowhere, plus I didn’t really take Vecna to be a religious guy.” 

“I don’t think it has anything to do with religion or the horses themselves…” Nancy pursed her lips, wincing slightly. 

Dustin had a feeling her thoughts had drifted back to what Vecna had…shown her while she was cursed for a short time. He honestly couldn’t — didn’t want to — imagine it, but… 

He glanced at the window and beyond it. 

Seeing the gray ashes falling outside, maybe he didn’t have to. 

The apocalypse was already looming over them, after all.

Dustin’s eyes widened.

Oh. 

Oh shit.

Nancy suddenly took a sharp intake of breath. “What’s Vecna’s main goal?”

Robin frowned worriedly, but answered nonetheless, “He basically wants to kill everyone and everything by making the Upside Down swallow up our…world…” She trailed off, the same, sudden realization in her eyes.

“The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.” Dustin felt his mouth drying up at the last word as he ran a hand through his hair. “Vecna’s plan involved four chimes. Four victims. Using them to open up four gates for the Upside Down to invade Hawkins.” He looked at everyone’s faces, seeing their quiet, horrified understanding of what this exactly meant. “Essentially the end of the world as we know it.”

Silence descended in the room.

“Judgement Day is here…” Lucas broke the silence, murmuring almost emptily as his eyes seemed to flash back to something. “...and the Horsemen are leading the charge.”

YES LITERALLY!! that’s what it is ! it’s just people not being able to see found family as found family. instead there has to be labels put onto it and everything! and because of that teenagers are being seen as parent for no reason other than to make a nuclear family.

the scoops troops erasure is just insane at this point fr. yes like the parents are so interesting in st! it’s just the whole thing of them not being able to understand their kids gets to me and how they just don’t know who their kids are despite trying to know them/thinking they know their own kids. same about headconing things about steve’s parents! yes like the whole parents make the world feel full and realistic. like it kind of just takes me out but it could be just because i love dissecting all the nuance and complications in media. and having the parents is definitely interesting!!!

it really is funny for the people who don’t acknowledge steve’s importance because they just try to erase a main and it’s like wow. no literally about the max relationship like she’s not close with robin and nancy yet somehow that’s more important than steve? dustin has a positive relationship with steve where he feels confident and can be his nerdy self and have someone also be nerdy with him? nope let’s just make dustin have eddie who and will just be bland. yeah it really is just so weird how people will take out any importance and personality that steve has and just slap it into another dynamic/character. like that’s not how it works!! different people/characters have different dynamics and to just copy and paste is sooo lazy.

yeah, people get really crazy about making sure a found family a nuclear one and it’s exhausting. don’t get me wrong, i do love a good father figure, but only when it makes sense, and the two characters aren’t really close in age. like, hopper makes sense as steve’s father figure, but steve doesn’t really make sense as dustin’s. he’s literally four years older than him.

scoops troop were literally the best group in s3… how quickly we forget our history.

but yeah, admittedly i don’t care that much about the parents in st. the parents i think the most about are probably steve’s, because he’s my favourite character and i like thinking about his childhood. and it is easy to forget about the parents because they really don’t pop up that much, but i feel like it’s different to just kinda forget their presence, verses actually saying that teens are parental figures to younger teens that are at most four years younger.

max and steve are so important to me, literally breaks my heart when people toss them aside. they are siblings. they are so important to each other. when people forget to write max as one of steve’s favourites, or when people just leave steve out of max relationships, i die a bit inside.

and yeah, i just don’t see the point in trying to replicate dynamics instead of just coming up with your own.

Stranger Things X Country Music

Okay? Here’s the thing, stranger things is in small town Indiana, most of the teens there know how to use a weapon, and the Byers were taken hunting on their birthdays, that’s a hicktown. As someone from small town south, everyone is raised a little on country and has a soft spot for at least one song, regardless of main music taste. Our “before he cheats” if you will. So here’s my list of 80s-early 2000s country that I think would be the stranger things characters’ (from Hawkins so no Max and Billy) favorite country song with lyrics and an added headcanon type thing

Will is someone still heavily attached to the wild feeling of not having worries as a child because of losing the tail end of his childhood to the upside down, the idea of comparing that to the beauty of flowers brings him comfort

I’d like to believe that at some point (probably post season 2) Johnathan began to see Jim as some sort of father Figure, thinking of him comforting himself and his mother when they thought will was dead and how he put himself into caring for will after the upside down. He idolizes the way he cared for their family when he didn’t have to because Lonnie never did

Nancy definitely associates the song with Steve and her season one self. Unsure of if she really misses who she was with Steve or just who she was before the upside down tore her understanding of life apart

This song has a lot of energy of a man trying to cling to his own masculinity in insecurity which I think Ike relates to a lot. Especially in this point where he can only tell people he loves that he loves them when they’re in danger, he relates to this concept of clinging to what makes a man a man like his father does

Dustin associates his adult freedoms and his love for people who surround him as this new breath of air after basically parenting his own mother. The love he finds in adulthood feels like coming up for air, breathing that first deep breath when you come out the water

Steve truly does believe that his brush with death in dealing with the upside down found it’s way to bettering him. despite the trauma he gained he sees himself for having a new love for life and the people in it from how easy it was to lose people to the monsters of that other world, he finds it relatable

Hear me out, Eddie would NEVER admit to actually liking this song or any country of that matter. But I think he tends to take on guilt for things that aren’t his fault and he’d find something really relatable in a sad away about Alison’s verse. Also I believe in the country music to emo music pipeline, so this is a song that would be on the list to getting him into darker lyrics in my opinion

Heaven Remix

I had the bright idea this morning that a potential new song for Season 5 could be Heaven Is A Place On Earth by Belinda Carlisle.

I low-key think we have a chance of this being a synths heavy music season... for reasons... Reasons are named Mike Wheeler.

Okay so why could it work?

I'm not sure that they'd have the full song. It's too upbeat for the general tone of the show. However, having the song as an epic remix is… a higher possibility. Let’s look at these lyrics.

I’mma skip a lot of the repeating sections and look specifically at the chorus, the verses, and the bridges. (I also recommend listening to it, if you don’t already know it.)

IDK if this needs to be said BUT. While I do think that this could be an epic end battle sequence song, for the fight with Vecna in the end, I am also going to make this clear. This is a HEAVY Byler centric song in this theory. 

Verse 1:

When the night falls down I wait for you, and you come around And the world's alive With the sound of kids on the street outside

Other than the obvious fact that there are some fun S1-3 references here that could be made, let’s look at this for the main group. They always battled at night. They waited for each other before they acted. The world’s alive, with kids outside? I mean… The main cast are kids (were kids). Like from a ST stand point this pretty much well establishes the dynamic of the characters for the majority of the seasons. 

Out of all the lyrics, without even needing to twist this from a love song in general, this works really well to describe any number of people in the party.

Bridge 1:

When you walk into the room You pull me close, and we start to move And we're spinnin' with the stars above And you lift me up in a wave of love

IMO this is a weaker bridge to try to force to a symbol for the whole group. However if we look at this from a Byler lens, they are always hovering around each other. They uplift each other and make the other feel a lot better in general. And it’s not a far stretch to say that their love for each other is going to be part of what makes them powerful.

Verse 2:

When I feel alone I reach for you, and you bring me home When I'm lost at sea I hear your voice, and it carries me

Please see: Mike’s whole speech about Hawkins not being the same without Will in S4. 

The first two lines: Will and Mike find solace in each other, this is obvious. However this also tends to be the case for a lot of the relationships in the show. They rely a lot on each other. Joyce just brought Hopper back to the states. We can assume that El is going to bring Max back. I could go on, but you get it. Home is Hawkins but Home is also each other. 

Second two lines: now I think that these really work for the whole Vecna’d aspect. “Lost at sea” (in their minds), “hear your voice” (music) “and it carries me” (to safety).

It also plays right into the idea that Will speaking to Mike (if he’s Vecna’d like I think) or Mike’s Will voice to Will (if Will is Vecna’d) will be a part of them breaking out of the control. (CauseINeedU has a video about Mike’s Will Voice, if you don’t know what I mean by that).

The second lines in specific I’m like, those really work well for the plot in general. However the real kicker is the last bridge and chorus.

Bridge 2 + Chorus:

In this world, we're just beginnin' To understand the miracle of livin' Baby, I was afraid before But I'm not afraid anymore Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth They say in Heaven, love comes first We'll make Heaven a place on Earth Ooh, Heaven is a place on Earth

I bolded a few specific lines and I’ll get to them, but let’s start at the top. The first lines “in this world, we’re just beginnin’ / to understand the miracle of livin’” is such a tie into the coming-of-age theme of the story in general. That’s what they’ve been learning through the whole show.

Next lines are about fear. Our characters are scared. Everything is falling apart and Vecna is winning. As I suggested in a few of my other posts (Upside Down and Defeating Vecna Part 2) I think that they learn to accept that the unknown exists, but they don't have to fear it. And they must reject Vecna’s ideology of terror. These lines hit that concept dead center. How do they reject the terror? 

The chorus finishes the message. Now that the Vecna is making hell on earth (through opening the portals to the Upside Down), they need to make heaven on earth. How? Love. We already know this is the case. We know this show is about growing up and accepting yourself, and a whole lot of love. Love of family. Love of friends. Romantic. Platonic. Love is the way to win.

The last bridge + chorus just works really well with the general themes of the show as a whole, and IMO I don’t see them just using the full song. It will be adapted in some way, if this happens. 

If they use the song: I see the possibility of this being a part of the last episode in the last fight. I could see us getting parts of it earlier on in the episodes (the two verses specifically) in Byler scenes or other moments. But I really think that it would be a good last fight song. Specifically from 2:53-end, in the link I set above. You could even go back as far as 2:25-end. 

Is this a guarantee. LOL no. Do I think it would be a really fun thing to have this love song as the end fight song in a horror tv show? Yes.

It’s also essentially the summation of the themes, isn’t it? That love will save the day? That them being united and supporting each other, will defeat the big evil?

Personally, I think it is.

It would also just be fun.

Dustin’s main identifier is his collection of wacky tees. Always seen with a science or nerdy shirt, Dustin has a rather colorful wardrobe. Button ups, cargo pants and sneakers are his go to clothing choice, often accompanied by a trucker hat.

Though, what makes him stand out most is his teeth. A visual disability called cleidocranial dysplasia, which is a rare genetic condition that affects teeth and bones, such as the skull, face, spine, collarbones and legs. He isn’t downtrodden over this disability however, even in the face of bullying he uses it to his advantage and embraces his differences.

Backstory:

Dustin Henderson was born May 29th, 1971 in Hawkins General Hospital To Claudia and Micheal Henderson. Being a miracle baby after 3 failed attempts, Dustin grew up with a very loving mother but distant father.

Due to the struggle of raising a child and the failed attempts at creating one, Micheal grew heavily distant to his wife and newborn son and eventually left once Dustin was 5.

Becoming the man of the house, Dustin swore to protect his mom from anyone trying to hurt her again. He became his mom’s light in the dark times and thus, she became a helicopter parent.

When Dustin reached 8 he met Lucas, Mike and Will. The party immediately was formed and the boys bonded instantly. Becoming close friends, they shared many sleepovers and campaigns over DND.

Mike’s older sister Nancy even joined in and played with them until she grew distant with them.

1983

Will goes missing.

Dustin, Mike and Lucas set out to find their missing party member and encounter a strange child in the woods. Taking her back to the Wheelers, it’s revealed there’s more going on than meets the eye and quickly the boys are dragged into a real life campaign.

They are momentarily stunned and horrified at the fake body dragged from the quarry and attend a funeral for their friend, though, they knew the truth.

Will was still alive and trapped.

With the help of Eleven they find Will and soon, are surrounded by the bad men and the monster that has been stealing lives around Hawkins.

The boys help fend off the monster, a demogorgon just long enough for El to sacrifice herself to stop it and for Joyce and Hopper to bring Will home.

1984

The boys frequent the Palace Arcade and soon stumble upon a new player for the game DigDug.

MadMax.

Curiosity strikes them and they deduce their new classmate, Max, is their mysterious DigDug champion. Wanting to recruit her into their gang of adventurers, Lucas and Dustin invite her to trick or treat with them on Halloween.

Once Will has an episode, the boys split on Halloween and Dustin returns home, with a bountiful loot and finds a strange creature eating through his garbage.

Dustin is immediately in love with the creature and decides to adopt it, naming it D'Artagnan and taming the creature with a Three musketeers bar. However, Dustin is unaware his new pet is from the Upside down and immediately plans to show his friends his new discovery.

Dustin immediately comes to Dart’s defense and fights Lucas and Mike on the danger of keeping Dart around. Though, it’s short lived as Dart runs and Dustin finds Dart. But Dustin lies to the party and says he doesn’t know where Dart went.

Though, Dart had eaten his pet cat. Witnessing Dart open his mouth in a flower-like shape, Henderson realizes that his pet is a baby Demogorgon who is in the earlier stage of its transformation.

After trapping Dart in the sewer, Dustin went to the Wheeler residence to find Mike, but instead ran into Steve. Asking Steve for help, the two quickly bond on their own solo adventure.

Lucas reaches out and tells Dustin to come to the junkyard. Working with Lucas and Max, the group fortified the abandoned bus in their preparation to fight and trap Dart. By night, they were attacked by Dart and several Demodogs and were nearly killed, but the creatures stopped and left to the Hawkins laboratory.

At the lab they reunite with Will, Mike and them and learn Bob was killed by the Demodogs. They return to the Byer’s home and quickly begin working on a plan to stop the mind flayer and save Will.

As they split up, Billy shows up looking for Max, not taking no as an answer. Steve and him get into a fight and Dustin and the kids load him up into Billy’s car once Billy is incapacitated.

They drive to the tunnels and together, with Steve, flambé the tunnels and help eleven close the gates. Though, Dart makes a brave sacrifice in the tunnels and Dustin is left to pick up the pieces of his pet.

Will is recovering, El is back and Dustin is alone at the snow ball.

1985

By the end of the school year of 1985, Dustin was sent to Camp Know Where, and remained there until the end of June. At the camp, Dustin befriended a girl named Suzie Bingham, and the two began dating. While developing his relationship with Suzie, Dustin started to invent several gadgets, the most notable being cerebro, a device intended to keep in contact with Suzie.

Once he made it home, he was thrown a welcome home party and tells the party about his new girlfriend, most of which don’t believe him.

Traveling up the hill to set up his communications device, Dustin is left alone once the party gets tired of the trek and goes home. As Dustin attempts to locate Suzie, he accidentally picks up a Russian message.

With his discovery, he immediately goes to Steve at the mall and explains his discovery. With Robin and Steve working to solve this, they quickly figure out the code. Steve deduces the message came from Starcourt and After stalking several Russians disguised as delivery men, the Scoops Troop ask for Erica Sinclair's help in finding the Russian's base. Managing to convince her with an exchange for free ice cream, Erica goes through the air ducts and lets them in.

Then they get locked in an elevator for a day and scamper through the Russian base once discovered.

Steve and Robin are captured and Dustin and Erica escape via the vents. The two bond over being nerds and quickly locate Steve and Robin and bust them out.

Dustin, though, kills a man to do this.

As they escape, Steve and Robin share a moment alone as Dustin attempts to talk to Mike to explain their situation. Though he has to stop as the Russians find them and attempt to kill them.

They are saved by the party and they form a plan to stop the Russians and the mindflayer. Using Suzie to help, Dustin gives Hopper and Joyce Planck's Constant and helps the crew get the keys to shut the machine down.

Once they do so, the mindflayer reveals itself and the battle begins.

Dustin watches Billy go down, watches the mall burn and then it’s over.

They help Will and Jonathan and Joyce pack up and move and soon, their party is down to 4.

1986

Starting Highschool with Mike, Lucas and Max, Dustin and Mike and Lucas join the Hellfire Club, run by Eddie Munson. Dustin becomes attached to Eddie quickly, Seeing the super senior as a big brother figure similar to Steve.

Their friendships with Lucas and Max have become distant and strained. Lucas has joined the basketball team to stop himself from being bullied by his peers, and Max has distanced herself from the others after the death of Billy.

Dustin has done his best to let Max have distance but he worries for her.

On the day of the final game of the campaign, Dustin and Mike are tasked with finding a sub for the Cult of Vecna. They do this with Erica and soon, the club has another honorary member.

The game goes by without a hitch and it was spectacular.

Then, a cheerleader is found dead in Eddie’s trailer.

Dustin immediately comes to Eddie’s defense over the allegations and quickly turns Max to their side, ruling this as a upside down issue. With Robin and Steve’s help, they locate Eddie at Reefer Rick’s and explain the years of torment and hell they’ve shared to him.

Eddie becomes a party member.

As they investigate the killings, Max is quickly labeled as a victim. On borrowed time, they seek to find a way to save Max as she’s determined to say goodbye this time. Respecting her wishes, Steve and Him make sure to help Max in whatever she needs.

Dustin hauls ass to save her with music and holds her close as he’s shaken from the experience.

Learning of gates being opened once again, Dustin locates where a gate is and watched as the older party members dive into hell as they are captured by the police.

Being questioned, Dustin, Lucas and Erica learn they went into the upside down and quickly establish communication via a lite-brite from Holly. Running from their parents, they make it to Eddie’s trailer and help the others cross back over.

Nancy is taken momentarily and once she’s freed tells the crew about the apocalypse that’s coming.

Forming a plan, they go and get weapons and teams are formed.

He and Eddie will be the distraction.

Things go perfectly, until they don’t.

Eddie plays his guitar and the bats come swarming with blood thirsty vengeance and Dustin and he quickly enter the trailer as they slam against it.

Eddie runs.

Eddie sacrifices himself.

Dustin holds his brother in his arm while he dies.

Dustin walks home with a broken ankle and tells Wayne Munson his nephew died a hero.

Then Hawkins rains ash.

Post canon

Now, I write this as season 5 hasn’t come out yet so things may change here once it does.

I have 2 verses for Dustin regarding Eddie.

One, is where Eddie does die and Dustin is the new leader of Hellfire. He dons Eddie’s rings, his chain and thus shapes himself into Eddie.

As the years go by he’s become the new target for bullying, leaving a rift between him and Lucas and Mike and Will.

He’s more jagged and sharp around the edges once Eddie dies, he’s more brash and scary. He protects the freaks like Eddie did and makes sure they always have a place in Hellfire. He stands on tables, gets into fights to keep other’s safe.

Dustin grows his hair out, gets into metal and tries to live up to the expectations Eddie left to him.

He’s still Dustin, just…stronger.

Route 2

Eddie lives and Dustin is pissed, relived but pissed.

Helping Hawkins rebuild what it can, he keeps an eye on Max and Eddie and helps Steve patch up what he can. Dustin forms any and all plans he can to fix this as Eddie sleeps.

As months pass, Eddie wakes up and Max still remains in a coma. The crew band together to finally defeat Vecna once and for all and succeed.

Dustin makes it out with his family and Max wakes up. Dustin finally gets a government assigned therapist and talks about his experiences and starts to heal.

WHAT ARE DIMENSIONS AND UNIVERSES?

I’m sure you all have been asking this question: What even is a ‘dimension’ and ‘universe’? Well, today I’ll be going over the formal definitions of them both. (Note: I discovered that how my fictional world works is a little similar to the concepts in the spider verse movies. I CAME UP WITH THIS BEFORE THOSE CAME OUT.)

What’s a ‘universe’?

Universes are basically fictional worlds! Think of the entire Disney franchise. That would be considered the Disney universe. Generally, a universe in the fictional world is the same as our universe in the real world. Except instead of planets inside of the universe, we have dimensions! Imagine a universe like a bowl, and the dimensions inside of it is like the food inside the bowl.

What’s a ‘dimension?’

A dimension is the ‘planets’ inside the universe that I was just talking about. Dimensions are like their own mini-universes inside the big universe. Let’s use Disney as an example again. The Disney franchise is a universe, right? Well, an individual piece of media under the Disney franchise like Turning Red would be considered a dimension. Turning Red would be called the ‘Turning Red Dimension’, in basic terms. Sometimes, dimensions also have their own scientific names that they are referred to when talking about them in a educational or professional context. Turning Red might be called D.TR-0 (Disney. Turning Red-Zero).

Teenage Mutant Misfit Gang AU

Heyo! Like many people in the fandom, I came up with my own Fan Iteration of the TMNT, and I even posted the first oneshot on Ao3, but I realized I haven't exactly explained shit that's happening!

So I'm here to do so now!

(I'm also including my ROTTMNT oc, Duck because they're basically becoming a multiverse hopper in the TMNT-verse

Basically, my thinking is this is going to be a slightly more grounded approach to the turtles, taking inspiration mostly from Richard Chen's vibes on IG and some story beats from the comics, but everything else is original thoughts. If you wanna just hop in on blind and watch the story unfold as I write it, go for it! But for those of you who want a rundown of the background, I'll put it below the cut.

Due to various circumstances in their lives, the Misfit Gang (consisting of the main turtles and Duck) end up living on their own for most of their life. The turtles have been together since they mutated a little over 10 years ago and they picked up Duck a bit over 3 and some change years ago. They all share a two room apartment in New York having been forced to flee the sewers in a massive flood that happened, and they all work either work from home jobs (taking art commissions, fixing tech at home) or night jobs that leave them alone the whole night (night stocker, night janitor) to make ends meet and only really fighting people if they get looked at wrong.

The Mutant Gang we follow are:

The Older Twins

Raph and Leo are twins in this world, immediately coming into consciousness at 8 years old after mutating and they both end up parentified by necessity. They're the ones who initially make the decision to live in the sewers after gaining consciousness after a horrible attempt to go aboveground leaves the injured and Raph concussed. They're the main providers and don't really develop their own personalities until they get the apartment at age 13 because they're so focused on keeping everyone alive, they don't think about much else. They bounce the title of Oldest Twin around day by day to help with the stress of being basically the parents of the group.

In the beginning, they both have hairpin triggers and more violent tendencies since their main focus is keeping everyone alive, but they're able to develop more distinct personalities when they get the apartment.

Leo develops a massive nerd streak and his tempers out to more of a stereotypical older brother/stereotypical high school bitch personality. He's arguably the most high strung of the pair and he's adamant about keeping the Youngers safe, even if it means kinda of hovering. He's the family medic because he watched a lot of action movies at the time and didn't like how it seemed the action hero rarely seemed to have the medical knowhow to keep his comrades safe and didn't want to risk that with his family. (plus they'll likely never receive any other type of medical treatment otherwise.) He's less likely to go off for an offense, but if he needs to, he'll throw hands. Either that, or his temper bubbles and festers until he blows up seemingly at random, it really depends on the day. He currently works as a night stocker for a local chain grocery store.

Raph, on the other hand, still retains a good portion of his hairpin trigger, but he's learned techniques on how to manage and got himself mellowed out (until he's not able to remain calm anymore). While he also has a stable job, he comes to learn he loves the domestic parts of life, cooking and mending clothes to accommodate their inhuman physiology and cleaning and whatnot. He's more willing to let the Youngers have their freedom within reason, but still puts up hard barriers to keep them safe. He has a hold on his temper, yes, but there are still some things he'll throw hands over without warning. He currently owns his own industrial cleaning businesses and has a contract with a school district to deep clean schools at night. (He also sells homemade stuffed animals on Etsy)

The Younger Twins

Donnie and Duck are twins by mutual agreement alone since Donnie is a turtle and Duck is an axolotl, but they took it to heart and became inspirable. Felons in the making when they're together (arguably, the reason they're not already felons is because they haven't got caught), often referred to as the Chaos Twins by their siblings. They're the other's biggest enabler and like the Olders, they can talk without talking and often bounce a sentence back and forth as they're talking. Donnie claimed the title of Oldest Twin and Duck allowed it.

Donnie came into the world with the functionality of a 6 year old and he knew immediately he hated everything going on. Too many sounds (Mikey crying, the sewer system in general, the people above), too many feelings (Mikey on him, the slick air of the sewer), too many smells (sewers). He hated it, but eventually grew accustomed to everything out of necessity. He also got into tech mostly by necessity because they needed working appliances in the sewers, but then he found he really liked doing it. Once they get the apartment, Donnie drinks any information he's given and often borrows April's textbooks and homework to keep himself busy. That being said, he's also down to clown and will enable almost anything his siblings want to do so long as it's funny. He currently works as something of a maintenance man for the building, being allowed to go into empty apartments when an appliance breaks to fix it or have small appliances dropped off at April's down the hall for repair.

Duck was picked up when they were 13 after the turtles were established in their apartment. They had been homeless for at least 2 years at this point and spent most of their life being experimented on to harness their innate axolotl regenerative abilities. Because of this and their time spent homeless, they have severe agoraphobia and become volatile and prone to violent outbursts when triggered. They mellow out while they're with the turtles and eventually agree to be Donnie's twin after it was determined by Leo that "eh. they look about the same age." They're still figuring out who they are at this point since they were never really given a chance to do so up until this point, but they're always down with creating chaos and committing crime. They're currently unemployed to mitigate risks to the safety of any human that might stumble across them, but they do occasionally tag along with someone else to do theirs.

The Youngest

Mikey is the baby of the group and mutated with the functionality as a 3 year old. He doesn't have a twin, but he's never left out of sibling shenanigans, often tagging along with the Younger twins whenever they go out until they call Twin Time (very sacred) or they deem the task too dangerous. Like all of the Mutant Gang, he's mature for his age and keeps his needs and wants to a minimum to mitigate the living expenses, but he is the most free to express himself because of how he's been raised. He's the most boisterous, the most excited, the most willing to put himself into the world despite the risks, and all of the Olders do their best to keep him safe and keep his wonder and joy for life. He's the creative of the group and is spoiled with various art supplies to give him various avenues to express himself. That being said, he's very reactive to the feelings of others and does his best to keep himself and everyone else calm. He currently sells art commissions online. Fun Facts!

During the main story, Raph and Leo are about to turn 19, Duck and Donnie just turned 17, and Mikey is on the verge of 14.

All members of the Mutant Gang display vague animal traits and often communicate in clicks, chirps, churrs, hisses, and other turtle sounds when they're feeling big emotions or are too tired to vocalize properly. Duck picked up on it through them, and their old friend.

All members of the Mutant Gang have very flexible morals due to their upbringing.

Splinter will be around later, but for now, just know he's looking for the turtles, playing vigilante, and working as a night postman to help his roommate pay rent.

None of the turtles remember Splinter in the slightest, but they do have vague anxiety inducing dreams about escaping somewhere that feel like shared memories.

April and her family took the turtle boys in after the sewer flood and helped them get their apartment. She becomes an older sister to them and is a year and eight months older than the Older twins.

Both Raph and Leo have human friends outside of April. Raph has Casey (met during an alley brawl) and Leo has Wallace (nosey manager met during a shenanigan). Casey knows about the entire family, Wallace only knows about Raph. The whole family knows about both.

I have a lot more information I'll sprinkle throughout the one shots and lay out in the story proper once I buckle down and get to writing the actual story, but I'm working on a bunch of one shots that take place before the mainline story, so look forward to those and the mainline when I get to it!
