Why couldn't she simply be forthcoming? Confess as to what she'd truly been up to? Because one truth would unlock others and there were some secrets Daphne just wasn't quite ready to share. "We're still supposed to meet up with Max, Ali, and Danny, right?" Plans with friends. Their attempt at falling back into the mundane workings of the world. It was a necessary evil, but one she'd rather hold off on if she were being honest; which sadly, she wasn't.

Closing the distance between them, she's swift to greet Auggie with a kiss, delicate hands lifting to cup his face. "How are you feeling?" It had been months since their ordeal at the resort, but they were both still on the mend, especially August. "Are you up for a little excursion?" //- @bluejeanbaby

About the wicked letters of horrors and affections being left on their doorstep. "Your spinach puffs will still be immaculate if you turn your attention away for five seconds." She attempts to assure him, her petite frame shifting enough to block the oven door. "This is serious! They- Th-They sent us a gift!"

The clock ticked well past midnight, and hooting owls and haunting crows were the only company that stayed hidden in Fox Forest. "Thank you for meeting me here." The pair remained above ground, the wide opening to Doiley's bunker calling out to them.

"I wasn't sure who else to call…" Another tragedy she was going to share. Another secret they'd have to keep. It was a cruel, toxic web she was weaving them into. Hauling them into her bloodstained chaos as if their hands were tarnished with crimson. "…Now's your opportunity to back out." To escape before becoming involved. "I wouldn't condemn you if you left." And with that, she began the lengthy descent into darkness.
