Honestly (as someone who left the Clans because I had a mate in the twolegplace), I haven't seen this to be as true as you're saying. I've seen one cat who "abandoned" his family to become a kittypet, if you count his abusive ex-partner, but for the most part, the cats we leave behind are understanding and okay with the fact that we have to move on. Example 1: You follow “microplasdick” and you filtered “orange”; if the OP is called “orange-fishburne” your filter will hide that post; if the person microplasdick reblogged is “orange-cucumber” your filter will hide the post. Doesn’t matter if the word “orange” is not within the post itself

Example 2: You have filtered “orange” and a post goes “I also ran getting to my bus” – that post would get filtered because it contains “o ran ge” in that sequence

So “#tumblr is my safe space” and for that to stay true, you’re most definitely allowed to block out current events/ world news

speaking of, i saw old oti’s letter & it had me going insane imagining a grieving sunday and what acting out of line could/will do, considering the control (a key component of sunday’s when we take his leaked personality into accoumt) over his emotions is fraying, but such only emphasizes that he wants to take control of the situation regarding robin’s death. now, i saw this in between loading screens in-game, and they’re mentioned, but the dreammaster is the true mastermind behind penacony, and old oti warns sunday to act with caution. actually, i wrote a little something to help me summarize old oti’s letter:

The Dreammaster, being higher in rank, is the one who is displeased with his actions. Sunday is the head of the Oak family, but from what we’ve seen, this role does not exert his control over things; it only exerts control over him.

honestly… perhaps i’m reaching for the moon, never mind that i don’t know how to articulate this properly so if anyone’s out there, please help me make sense of this or clear away the “yapping” spectacle i’m about to showcase here.

but looking back at this summary, this kind of bears a resemblance to ena the order and their assimilation into xipe (aeon of harmony), who the family follows. we already know that xipe is comprised of many entities, ena being “enormous in size” as a part compared to the others xipe has assimilated yet nevertheless “swallowed”. in relation, sunday is only one of the local leaders of penacony as robin said, and oti warns he could get impeached, right? he’s still a part of the whole despite his notable influence. . . . i can’t stress how much i feel i can explain this better.

matter of fact, ena has similar traits to sunday (albeit initial personality leaks) as it is. mentioned to be a “control freak” (herta tells trailblazer, “they could not tolerate any disorder”), to be “absolute, just, and magnificent” (tying this back into sunday being halovian, how they “seem born into the love and admiration of other species and peoples”), to be all-seeing (both have eye motifs, sunday knew about firefly’s death).

even more of a stretch, but ena is a puppet and if we go back to sunday taking after them. well. are you picking up what i’m putting down? (hint: it’s a death flag. after all, to be controlled…and for the family to be fixated on a collective ambition versus an individual’s desire that’s interfering with such ambitions. this isn’t their harmony. his dedication to robin can be considered self-serving, and so doesn’t align with their goals . . . mind overloaded. no more can be said at this time.)

tldr: “it’s all nonsensical! / what is it saying! / i can’t make sense of it either.” the skeptic in me loves looking for nothing …

This reminds me of this theory I saw (I encourage everyone to read it bc it’s so incredibly thought out and all the connections made by op are insane).

The person who made that theory noted that Ena is probably way more involved with The Family than we thought. They also came to three conclusions, one of which is Sunday being used as a sacrifice.

honest question: how does one make friends on tumblr?

so obviously everyone is different and you can totally just dm a person and strike up a conversation but i am way too awkward to do that and tend to just do this elaborate courting ritual that i subconsciously developed after spending a decade on this fucking app

hit people with those “prev tags” and maybe add a little comment. “prev tags i thought the same exact thing omg” “prev tags how does it feel to be the funniest person on this website” you know that kind of thing. show your personality a little bit, establish what you have in common with the person, all good friendship tips

once you feel comfortable use their name. “prev tags hey claire what the fuck” etc. using someone’s name in the tags is like. like if this was a victorian courting using someone’s name is taking it from dancing at a party to calling upon their house. also people like it when you use their name it makes them feel special

like their personal posts! just in general like their posts even if you don’t want to reblog it. show you pay attention and care

reply to their posts! to use the victorian courting metaphor again, this is like. promenading with someone. like this is the precursor to proposing

proposing here is dming them. once you feel comfortable just take the jump. i would recommend waiting until your potential friend follows you back but you know your situation better than me do what feels right

everything above are behaviors that slowly stack on top of each other until the friendship achievement unlocks, but there’s also a few behaviors that are not part of the courting ritual but are pretty useful

make your own personal posts! it doesn’t have to be about your daily life, just make sure your entire blog isn’t reblogging other peoples content. this a) gives people a reason to follow you and b) gives them a way to reciprocate all the courting behaviors shown above

About clicking someones name to see the post: I had the same problem until i found out that you can still do it by clicking the white to the right space beside their name ! :D

That's true! Several people have pointed this out to me ever since I made my post about it, and it is correct. But !!!! now you can only go back one reblog in the entire reblog chain, whereas you used to be able to infinitely click reblog after reblog until you get to the OP.

Let's say I follow Person A. Person A reblogged a post from Person B. I can still see Person B's reblog by clicking the white space as you said. But now let's say Person B reblogged from Person C and added the tags "#prev tags" but didn't copy over the tags.

I am now curious, and want to go to Person C's reblog from Person B's reblog so I can see Person C's tags. But I can't. The chain stops there. There is no clickable white space. I can either go to Person B's blog, or I can visit the OP (who we will call Person Z in this scenario). There is no way to go through the rest of the reblogs to get to Person F, or Person M, or Person Q, etc. My only options from there are B or Z, when I used to be able to go through the whole alphabet.

This site was built on reblog chains. I don't understand why @staff would remove a feature that is so fundamental to its functionality.

Hi. I never intend to cast myself as an "anti bully saint". I try to be thoughtful about what I reblog and post, but I have absolutely come up short before, as we all do. I think we can all try to do better and be more thoughtful all of the time.

I make fun of stans, yes—including at times Dean stans and JA stans (who are very adjacent to my space). I find SPNblr and its many various little segments fascinating to explore in their depravity and complexity and everything. Sometimes SPNblr is hilarious, sometimes it's embarassing, sometimes it's toxic, sometimes it's utterly unhinged. I like to explore it with my telescope and my compass and my map. Speaking about all our various groups in general and certain elements in them (with no names, no identifying info) is very different from targeting individual specific people and their posts by screenshotting them to mock them behind a person's back in a circle, or sending people hate mail. Wincest shippers have received a lot of hate in the SPNblr space, but that does not make them a protected class who I am not allowed to talk about in a general sense when they Do Things™️. Among some wincest shippers, there is an extreme amount of cognitive dissonance about what exactly some of the other people in the space are like and a naive belief that conduct is always appropriate in that community, and that is simply not true.

All of that said, let me tell you what happened in the christ-figure bracket, because I was there, Gandalf—before OP erased the evidence of what was going on. OP made a single post expressing discomfort, which I thought was funny. I reblogged it because I thought it was funny. It seemed to me based on their tone, that OP was approaching the situation with humor. I may be wrong about that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ However, the reaction to what they said was over the top from some individuals. I think a lot of people didn't see what went on however because OP deleted it pretty fast, but I did see it because it was still there on my first reblog.

In the notes of that post, there were, in fact, several wincest shippers fucking with OP trying to get themselves blocked on purpose. There were 3-4 reblogs with gifs and/or text referencing wincest including something to the effect of, "I hope Sam got Dean to fuck him on Easter Sunday". These things were stated in an attempt to mock and upset the OP and bait a block. I reblogged the same post again talking to my friend in tags, and said, #prev#there were so many wincest shippers on that post when I reblogged it. OP blocked them all now. Pretty funny.#but also sorry op RIP inbox/notifs. When I said that, I did not mean wincest shippers just existing on the post and reblogging things and getting blocked for it. I meant some wincest shippers intentionally trying to upset the OP with what they were adding to the post. By that point, OP had blocked those accounts. Then someone sent OP some fanfiction. I'm not sure if that occurred on the previous post or was DM'd to them. This got Sam kicked out of the christ-figure poll entirely. This is both extremely funny to me, and also I think a deserved outcome for the people who were being Like That™️, who did happen to come from the wincest community.

no one asked but I’ve had this blog for 10 years and I actually don’t mind prev tags, but it is absolutely not a REPLACEMENT for screenshots. here is my rule of thumb:

if the tags are about a personal/private experience, I’m more inclined to use prev tags. yes if they’re posting their tags online then technically anyone could view them, but it’s like…. the difference between someone sharing something to a class of 25 people during a discussion and saying “good point so true” vs filming what they said and posting it to tiktok.

if the tags are an inside joke and only me or a couple other people would get it, I’m using prev tags or a “SO-AND-SO YOUR TAGS” (and in the same breath adding a response)

if the tags are blorbo related and maybe it’s a fandom I know my followers like, but is far from generally liked, and I don’t want to derail op’s post, I’ll use prev tags (or repeat them)

if the tags would derail op’s post in general. maybe the post was about something important, and the tags are also important but a bit irrelevant, and would do better on their own post. prev tags

if the tags are A Lot, like maybe a bit Too nsfw for what I typically like to have on my blog, but reading them suckerpunched me and I want to inflict them on anyone who’s willing to look, I may use prev tags (case by case)

if the tags add NECESSARY CONTEXT or ENHANCE THE PUNCHLINE, they are getting screenshotted

if it’s a conversation, and it’s better if people can see the full thread rather than just @‘ing people in the replies, I’ll screenshot

if I was browsing the tags and found multiple very funny ones, I will screenshot my favorites

I DO screenshot tags like 80% of the time. They are still my preferred method of tag peer review.

I think what people are forgetting is why we like writing comments in tags in the first place. it’s because they are impermanent. if every prev tags situation was screenshotted and added to a post, it would actively make a lot of posts worse. No one wants unfunny additions tacked on,or two people that keep reblogging your posts over and over to rp their omegaverse rpf or whatever.
