i made this post on my old blog about what touch is like for my ocs and by some miracle i just realized i saved it so i’m gonna rewrite it here 😁

#and pretend to be normal #also using this day to organize pins and dynamic tags specifically for ‘postmortem’ and werewolf oc #until uhhh 4 i think and then i’m unfortunately busy #i think i’ll be a lot busier for the next few months until fall ? although i still have to register for classes for the fall semester #found an online school since i can’t afford transport to the community college here #i’m hoping to be moved out by then so that works out perfectly #oh! and the summer job i said i was gonna get 😭 i cannot work with other adults i have a temper and also extreme anxiety so i’m basically #doing more babysitting #but at least since it’s summer i won’t be getting up early to get kids ready - it’s mostly a lot of late nights and overnight nannying whil #*while #the parents work long hours #anyway! yeah random update on life right now. in terms of moving i’m either gonna do a trip with my sister or best friend later in the #summer/beginning of fall to look at places and explore a bit #i’m remaining positive that things work out for me this year or at least trying to be. it’s been way past time for me to move on and live m #own life #especially now that my siblings are grown minus my brother but he turns 18 this year and he’s made some plans for his life #and i’m happy for him :) feels good to know he knows what he wants to do and has goals especially with how hard these past few years have #been for him #trying hard to ignore all the guilt settling in the pit of my stomach when i think about leaving but i know this is the best thing i can do #for myself. and for them i think. hopefully also for my mom #okay anyway. rambling my bad #t

Just met the McElroys, and I died a little bit inside. But in a good way.

I did NOT manage to ask them about the Fanny thing. Instead I just mentioned all the combat classes I was taking over the weekend hfkshdkd

But in the end, I did it!!!! And they were very nice and worked to make conversation with me, even though I was probably clearly nervous. Sweet guys, all around.

I got my copy of The Suffering Game (that I got from their book launch panel on Friday) signed.

I will treasure this greatly.

it would be really cool if goodreads and storygraph could do custom goals. like you could say '10 nonfiction books' and only the books you tag as nonfiction (gr) or that are tagged as nonfiction in the system (sg) would count. or '20 books in translation' and only the books where your shelved edition has a credited translator would count. etc

#i want a progress bar on my 25 books in translation goal to be alongside my normal reading goal #i'm at 5 for the year so far & cr a 6th #i do think there's imperfections to this goal. bc i'm using it as shorthand for 'reading more internationally'#but the book i read in february by a nigerian author and set in nigeria was originally in english. so where does that fall? it isn't #translated but it definitely is international!#(it was my sister the serial killer by oyinkan braithwaite! veryy readable and i wish i'd read it in the summer instead of the winter #—i wasn't perfectly in the mood for it bc there was a little more family drama and a little less murder than i wanted but it was still good #talkin #reading tag

Of course, when she could actually use some heroes popping out, no one shows. Typical.

It wasn’t Blackfire’s first time of running from hunters, and she really hoped it wasn’t going to be her last. What it was though, was a lot more persistent and aggressive than most her experiences had so far been, and she hated every moment of it. Especially now, as her hunters had managed to disable her flight and she had to actually run through the paths in hope to evade their search.

A sudden pain in her back promptly made it obvious that her hopes of escape were all in vain, though, and she screamed as she fell forward, unable to brace herself for impact before crashing into the ground face-first.

Once on the ground, she did her best to struggle to a standing again, but it was getting painful to even continue pushing her body.

This was not going to end well.

I think something went wrong there.

I mean, I'm pretty sure the blood there is coming from the fight that just happened before with those Gith, but uh... interesting coincidence then still. I don't know what borked his trance-position/animation here, it was fine all the other rests before.

Thinking about Yuuya's pendulum and Yuuto's lock necklace currently, and brain immediately went (with reference to how the bracelets work... kinda) somewhere between "that's where Zarc's soul is for them" and "if you held onto the pendulum or lock itself then it would cause them pain on a soul level"
