Hey, so I've decided to just keep this as a pinned post until I update the old one/make a new one.
Hi, I'm arson and I sometimes make, draw, and write things. I also reblog things here.
My requests are technically open and I have one request that I haven't forgotten about and plan to finish at some point, but writing just isn't fully where my brain is at the moment and this is a hobby for me, not a job. I'm still working on fics that I have spoken about and am passively thinking about them, but the best way to describe their state at the moment is that they are meads that I am fermenting and they are also things I am lettibg simmer in the back of my head like soup. I occasionally start oneshots aswell, but none have been posted yet since I've realised I dislike posting things concretely until they're done because of the possibility that I'll abandon them/change them completely. I'm slowly getting better in regards to being creative, as you might see from my recent(and hopefully continuing) influx of original fanart posts, but I have been struggling to write and be creative in general for a while due to dysphoria being yucky and my disabilities making it hard to think/be productive sometimes.
I try to keep a pretty accurate tagging practice, but I've been here a while and need to sit down at some point and do a backlog of editing posts' tags to my system. If you are looking for/would appreciate a tag index, it'll be under the cut. The cut is here for blog accessibility. I will update this post to be accurate as time continues
Currently, if you're looking for an original post of mine, this is the category I especially want to look back on and change the tags of. So apologies that this is a bit hard to source at the moment.
From now on, I want to start tagging my posts this way so that you can differentiate between when I posted something I made/did vs when I reblog something from someone:
_My creative stuff/own posts_
#original post - used to group together all of my original posts, including: talking about things that wouldn't fully fit within my arsontastic rambles tag, text posts that aren't writing, writing, any jokes/memes I post, and my art!
#arsontastic original - used to just generally make all of my creative posts easy to find. For general original posts, the previous tag is used. This tag is specifically for my fandom-centered original posts where I show off things I made/wrote/etc
#arsontastic writing - Generally all of my writing content. If you are looking for my fics and headcanons, etc, this is where you'll be able to find them
#arsontastic fanart -all of my artistic, non-writing, content. This is a bit more general than the writing tag. You'll be able to find things like traditional and digital fanart I've done and also any other artistic stuff I've done!!
#arsontastic ocs - not currently a tag, but I've realised I want to add a tag where you can find info/ posts about my ocs. (For eg. Massacre) without having to look at their individual tags.
_Important Blog Navigation_
This post has made me realise I also don't have a tag for blog updates/talk, which is something that I would like to be easily found, so I'll start adding this one:
#blog updates and Shenanigans
Up until recently, I've only had one tag for everything I reblog and then fandom tags, but I've realised that that kind of prevented me from reblogging as much as I want to because I would be worried about something or another relating to it, so I'm going to, from now on, try to reblog with the following tags:
I do have a tag that I use for when I'm talking about things, which this post also has:
#arsontastic rambles -this is used to indicate my rambles/posts about varying things. ( For eg. I don't remember if the post has the tag, but I want to add it to it; my post where I talk about how I love fictional up languages and you can tell my parents are interpreters by how I engage with fandom. This is evident from my currently being worked on on and off elder scrolls language index
I'd also like to add tag for all of my own, and other people's resources for various things.
#useful resources is what it'll be for now, but it might change/gain section in the future
_Reblogs_
#reblog - still will be used for all reblogs, mostly for ease of movement
#reblogging other people's art - as the name suggests, this is the tag that I use to differentiate between textposts, memes, and other reblogs vs art/fanart reblogs(including writing) this tag is subject to change.
I'm debating whether or not to add a small index of fandom tags, so if that is something people would like, I'll add it.
Here are my oc-specific tags. I've only really talked about Massacre on here so far, but there are more and they will gain tags when I do talk about them. (I am putting tags here for characters that have names already and stories but I haven't talked about yet, too): (worth noting: almost all of my characters are trans, and all of my mcs are)
_Original Character section_
#Skyrim oc -for grouping together all of my skyrim characters
#Massacre the Last Dragonborn -Massacre's tag. Although I am considering also just tagging them as Massacre gro-shub aswell. Anyway, important info: Urag gro-shub's kid and is also a skyrim oc, paired with Taliesin, nonbinary, a sucker for kids even if they do dislike/not trust most people. They/them
#Lorne the Dragonborn -Lorne's (who is currently being developed but I have basic ideas and notes for her story already.)'s tag. Important info: is an oc for a skyrim fic, is a follower/ chosen of Lorkhan, trans, straight, paired with Teldryn Sero, and is technically an isekai! She/her
#Stardew Valley oc - not used yet but will be the grouping tag for all of my stardew ocs
#Grass the Farmer - Grass's tag. Haven't really talked about him at all yet. Important info: stardew valley farmer oc, is for a crossover fic, paired with Eskel from the witcher, unhinged (tm), trans, mlm, and is on year 6 with the average of 2 hearts with villagers. He/they
There are two other characters that will have tags at some point, but I don't really know how to phrase their tags yet so I'll just tell you about them here: Wiryar- my silmarillion oc. They're paired with Maglor and their story is meant to touch a lot on how religion can be used for bigotry and the original generation of elves/elf culture wasn't a fun time to be different in their version of middle-earth Their name is the verb for changing and they named themselves after that specifically because it is one of the things they value most. They're also an opportunity for me to be proud of ny country's foliage and environments because Tolkein wrote Middle Earth with South Africa in mind and my goodness, if I have a chance to be proud of my country and share my love for it, I will take it!!! Then there is also Kikyomatsu - they are an oc for the anime Demon Slayer and they're paired with Muzan. They, and their story in general, are an opportunity for me to explore the topic of disability and how that has affected me and how it can impact you as a person. This will kind of have two versions, both being similar and yet different. The main aspect is reincarnation. In one version, Kikyomatsu doesn't remember their past lives. In the other, they do. Both are going to be fun to write and share some key elements, but they will have different timelines and the method of connection is different. In the one where they don't remember, they are consistently running into Muzan by chance and it's something that Muzan has to grapple with(but doesn't) on his own for the majority of their lives. In the one where they do, though, they are actively seeking him out once they realise he's still alive and they won't allow him to push away the things he has to work through.
I might make Lore guides/story-specufic guides in the future because I tend to add a lot or change some things for every story I write. (Eg. I will be making an entire version of pop culture for Stardew Valley in Grass' story because why not :))) also because I find it fun to do silly world building like this!)

Made a new Flight Rising iceberg and also wrote an explanation.. man, this took way longer than it should have.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy :D
Iceberg explanation
( If there are any mistakes please let me know and I’ll edit this asap. Also, English isn't my first language so please forgive me for any grammatical errors)
EDIT 28/06: Added some new info! Thanks to everyone who tagged and responded with new stuff to add, I really appreciate it!
The Sky
Naomi
Back in the day, whenever you bought or sold something on the auction house a message would show up in your inbox confirming the transaction. These messages were sent by one of the dragon couriers: Pearl, Spitfire or Edgar.
On January 2016, a strange glitch occurred that replaced the images and names of couriers with the ones of a female fae named “Naomi”.
It goes deeper than that, though: if you looked up her name in the user search menu, a clan would pop up with over 15 million dragons.
It was quickly discovered that all exalted dragons had somehow become part of her clan. Naomi herself apparently didn’t exist, and clicking on her page redirected to an error page. This was later fixed and the original Naomi page can be now visited.
What exactly caused this glitch is still a mystery and today Naomi is still a well-known piece of Flight Rising history.
Missing Tidelord
In the official lore, the deity of the water flight disappeared in early 2018, as described in the short story “Hear Today, Gone Tomorrow”.
In the follow up story (Mixed Elements) posted in April of the next year it is confirmed that the Tidelord is still missing, but alive. This coincides with the fact that the Tidelord account hasn’t made any forum posts aside from festival announcements.
Emperors
Emperors are a type of unobtainable dragon that are formed when several Imperial corpses are left in close proximity to each other, which then fuse forming a multi-headed chimera.
Emperors are described in the lore as having an animal-like behavior and destroying everything in sight. They are extremely difficult to kill, which is the reason why in-universe Imperials have such strange burial rites.
An emperor named Luminax is first described in the Raising a Family short story, and their sprite can be seen walking around on the world map.
The Surface
Old color wheel
Originally, there were only 67 available colors for dragons. On June 8th 2016, 110 more colors were added, meaning that currently there are a total of 177 colors available.
When making a custom progenitor dragon, it is only possible to choose among the 67 original colors because it would be otherwise unfair for those who made their account before the new colors were added.
Imperial breed scrolls
Imperial breed change scrolls are one of, if not the most, rare type of item on the site. They were given only to those who pledged 30 dollars or more on the original Flight Rising kickstarter.
At the time, this was the only way of obtaining an Imperial dragon, which meant that the breed as a whole was pretty valuable. Now that Imperials are abundant this is no longer the case, but First generation Imperials are still extremely sought and probably the most expensive type of dragon on the site.
There were also other items that were only given to Kickstarted backers, namely Skycats, Bonefiend, Golden Idol and Cogfrog familiars, and those are also pretty much impossible to obtain.
Baldwin breed change
When Baldwin was introduced in 2015 he was originally a Pearlcatcher. On September 14th of 2016 however his site art started to gradually change, until his transformation was completed five days later.
In-universe, Baldwin started to change after a lightning strike hit his cauldron during an experiment, which made him slowly mutate into the breed we now know as Bogsneaks.
Trans Fiona
When Fiona was added as a trading post dragon people speculated that she was trans, because the female pose for Skydancers only displays two antennae, while the male one has four.
Since Fiona has four antennae in her site art, many wondered whether it was an oversight or actually intended. Aequorin later confirmed in a forum thread that Fiona is indeed trans.
Boolean
Speaking of rare items, the Boolean familiar was only given to a handful of Flight rising beta testers and as such is extremely rare and valuable.
Plaguebringer coli team
On the Plaguebringer’s page she is listed as being part of a coliseum team.
As of now we have no clue as to why this is, and even more strangely she is the only deity that does this.
Boston & Hope
This story is a bit complicated. I’ve scoured the forums in search of info but it seems like there are still some pieces missing. I’ll try my best to explain anyway.
So, for a long while the Lightweaver was the only deity that had other dragons aside from herself in her lair: these dragons were a Spiral named Boston and a Tundra named Hope. Strangely, they were both Earth dragons and apparently have been there since the beginning (?). When asked why (this happened back when deities would interact on the forums) the Lightweaver responded that they were having a dinner party together.
In August 2014 during a pretty heated dominance battle between Shadow and Light Boston and Hope disappeared from the Lightweaver’s lair.
The Shadowbinder now had them, and both their elements were alsochanged to Shadow. The two deities acknowledged this and changed their broadcast messages accordingly.
If I had to guess this was some kind of inside joke that the admins had, although some people got angry that the Shadowbinder now had both Hope and Boston. Some time later(?) Boston was returned to the Lightweaver and for some reason his element was changed to wind.
I don’t have any more info on the matter but if some of you do I would appreciate it if you tell me.
Shallow Waters
Eyepocalypse
On June 8th 2018 eye type variants were introduced. This update was pretty controversial for a bunch of reasons, and the topic is still discussed today. The majority of people(?) seemed to be upset by the fact the “best” eye types (primarily goat, primal and multi-gaze) could only be displayed on dragons that were born with them, and the fact that every dragon born prior to the update couldn’t have these eye types at all displeased a lot of users.
Another problem was the fact that most of the non-special eye types (i.e the only ones that could be applied to already existing dragons using a vial of Scattersight) were not clearly visible on the grand majority of adult dragons.
A smaller(?) complaint was that two of the primal eye types, Shadow and Plague, were seen as kind of disturbing by some people.
Three years later staff attempted to fix this issue by adding Eye type vials for every available eye type. This resulted in a market crash for special eye typed dragons, as now these eye types could be applied to any dragon. The value of Scattersights also tanked, and the people bought them and hadn’t used them yet lost money as now they were infinitely less useful.
EDIT 28/06: Goat isn’t actually obtainable via breeding, faceted is. Bad mistake on my part.
Also, Scattersights were given away freely by Galore on Flight Rising’s fifth anniversary in 2018 and could not be bought afterwards. I admit that I thought people could be able to buy Scattersights due to how upset people were that the value went down, but whatever.
Courier Breed
The courier dragons (Edgar, Spitfire, and Pearl) are part of an exclusive dragon breed that is currently unobtainable. Even though their eye color still reflects the flight they were born in, in-universe they are considered to be “neutral” and they are granted free access to all domains. This raises the question as to which deity created them, as every other dragon breed (Bogsneaks being the only exception) has been created by one of The Eleven.
Multiaccounting
According to the site’s terms of service, no one is allowed to have more than one account. This is pretty standard for pet sites, as having multiple accounts grants unfair advantages and can mess up the site economy. This doesn’t completely stop people for having more than one account, and the practice as a whole is called “Multiaccounting” or “having multis”.
Some people only do this to have multiple clans or reboot their account without deleting their old one. They mostly do no harm but it is reasonable that the site wouldn’t allow this because of how easy it is exploit.
The real harm of multis comes from a practice called “funneling” which is when someone creates multiple accounts only for the purpose of giving items to their main account. This practice violates the game’s rules and can result in a ban. Funneling is not limited to multiaccounting though, and having an account only to feed another is against the site’s rules whether or not the account in question belongs to another person or not.
Some people fear of being banned for multiaccounting even if they haven’t done so, especially if they share a computer with other people.
Purble
“he purble” is probably among the most famous Flight Rising memes.
In 2016(?) a rant was submitted to the original Dramarising blog by a very angry user that wanted to buy an XXX Purple Ridgeback back when triples were pretty expensive, but got beat by someone else.
I’m not going to copy paste it here because in my opinion it’s one of the funniest Flight Rising related posts ever and I don’t want to spoil the experience of reading it for the first time. You can find it pretty easily by searching it up.
Tert Picking
This is something that refaced recently, even though I’ve seen people talking about this for a while. Some people vividly remember being able to pick their custom progenitor’s tertiary color, even though the developers have made it clear that such thing would be impossible. This is without a doubt just one of those weird situations where a lot of people somehow remember the same thing wrong.
Still, it’s fascinating just how many people claim to remember doing picking their tert.
Swiftwings
Swiftwings were a dragon breed that was scrapped in development. The design was rejected because it didn’t fit the 2 arms 2 legs 2 wings format that every dragon design had to follow before the introduction of ancient breeds.
The reason for this rule is that otherwise it would mess up apparel placement. Although the concept was scrapped, echoes of the design were scattered throughout the site: for example, the empty dragon slots that were present prior to 2019 had the silhouette of a Swiftwings dragon. They are also mentioned in the April Fool’s update of 2018.
“Real” Lore dragons
Most people don’t know that some of the dragons featured on the lore stories are actually real, and you can visit their pages. This is the case for Tetra, Cracklinne, Velya, Liefa, Garote and Mirth, which are currently chilling in Aequorin’s lair.
All of the other dragons in the developers’ lairs are not canon and are used to test bugs and features on the site.
The Middle ground
True deity names
When the site first started the deities used to have actual names instead of titles. Some of these names were based off of the site founders’s usernames on other sites.
The names are the following:
Amogayvhi - Gladekeeper Xhaztol - Arcanist Rhenik - Tidelord Akiri - Flamecaller Thrage - Stormcatcher Undel - Shadowbinder Jhortanas - Plaguebringer Ghurab - Windsinger Artaios - Earthshaker Rhiow – Lightweaver
As you can tell, Xhaztol, Akiri, Thrage and Undel are the usernames of some of the admins of the site, and the flight they are a part of corresponds with the previous name of their deity.
No leg coatls
On January 16, 2015 an iconic thread was posted in the flight rising discussion forum, which displayed a photoshopped image of a coatl with its legs removed. Quickly the thread devolved into a general photoshop thread were people took official site art of dragons and modified it.
The thread was eventually locked due to spam and quote pyramids, but spiritual successors of the original “phoatlshop” thread still exist today.
Dress slot unlocking
A thing that a surprising amount of people don’t know is the fact that when buy an additional apparel slot, the slot opens for every dragon in your lair and not just the one you bought it on.
This is something I also discovered very recently and it’s kind of funny that so many people that have been on the site for very long don’t know this.
Clanbound scatterscrolls
I think the wiki explains it best, so I’ll just copy paste this here:
“Tri-Color Scatterscrolls suffered from an issue where they would only scatter a random range from colors 1-47 (white through sunshine) rather than 1-67 (white through rose). They have been fixed and are now functioning correctly with a random range within the 67 color set. The affected timeframe was from August 15th, 2013 until September 22nd, 2013. The admins allowed users who were unsatisfied with their bugged Tri-Color Scatterscrolls to receive the same amount of them back in the form of Clanbound Scatterscrolls to try scattering their own dragons again with the full color range.”
Beta Mirrors
Ever wondered why they’re called Mirrors?
According to Undel, the main artist of Flight Rising, mirrors originally were supposed to have every part of their body “mirrored”, meaning they had two sets of eyes, two pairs of wings, two tails, and so on.
This design ended up being too cluttered and looked weird shrunken down. The name was kept the same, even though the only mirrored part of the design are the eyes.
Dragons are evil
If you read the “Beastclans on the rise” lore bit, the dragons come across as… very evil, stealing territory from the beastclans when they have been living on Sornieth way longer than the dragons have and killing them for loot.
Furthermore, in the Bounty of the Elements lore bit the Beastclan rebellion guided by Talona is seen by the dragons as unreasonable and wrong even when in canon Beastclans are framed as the innocent party.
The Depths
Scroll of Divorce
In the alpha stage dragons were supposed to be monogamous and could only breed with the dragon they were “paired” with. To break their bond you had to use an item called “Scroll of Divorce” which even featured broken marriage rings in the art.
If I had to guess, this item and the concept as a whole were scrapped because the idea of dragons having “weddings” and needing to divorce before breeding with another dragon felt kind of weird, especially in a game targeted towards teens.
First Festival
The first Holiday festival in Flight rising history was the 2013 Brightshine Jubilee. The items that were available for this festival only are incredibly rare, particularily the Light Sprite which is one of the most valuable items on the site. Apart from that and the fact that the skincent contest only had 6 winners, not much is notable about it.
Offsite drama
Flight Rising has had its fair share of drama both on and off site, but due to the fact that it’s against the site’s rule to discuss user drama on the forums most of the notable drama happened off site (mainly tumblr).
Egg rot
Egg rot was a very early mechanic that was pretty quickly removed from the site. If you forgot to incubate your eggs, they would “rot” and no longer hatch.
It’s the reason why in the nesting grounds the text reads “Eggs healthy” and also the reason why on the stats section of the Account settings it says “Eggs discarded”. The mechanic was removed because it heavily punished casual players and the frequent downtimes of the site meant that even if someone logged in every day they could still have their eggs die.
Also, the images of egg rot look extremely cursed.
Pablo
From what I could gather, Pablo is a dragon which became somewhat popular after user “Desmondtiny” wrote a very long and detailed backstory of them being the Arcanist’s lost boyfriend.
I’m pretty sure it gues deeper than that but I couldn’t find any further information. As usual, if you know something more let me know.
Latest News
On November 12, 2014, a glitch(?) occurred that let anyone post in the Announcements thread. Anything that was posted went directly to the front page, which resulted in quite a bit of chaos.
This was fixed only half an hour later, but the screenshots people have from that time are extremely funny.
Lameforger
On the 2014 Flameforger’s festival announcement Undel accidentally misspelled “Flameforger” as “Lameforger”, which prompted the official account of the Flamecaller to respond aggressively. Lameforger is still jokingly used by users, even after the typo was fixed.
Festival of one (1)
On the first day of the 2014 Greenskeeper Gathering a glitch occurred which switched the site banner for the Starfall celebration banner instead of the Greenskeeper one.
It didn’t end there, in the coliseum Magical shards dropped instead of Bladed Flatleaves, even though skin chests dropped as normal(?).
The weirdest thing about it all was Joxar’s Space inventory, which didn’t display any items at all and had glitched dialogue.
The event was nicknamed by the fanbase “Festival of 1” and even the deity’s official accounts acknowledged the incident.
Vape Juice
As far as I know the original forum thread as been lost, but the vape juice fiasco will always remain cemented in Flight Rising History.

A company called Vape Daugz was making vape juice with Flight Rising dragons plastered on their packaging, completely violating the site’s policy.
The company’s site still exists, and browsing through their products I found that the products that previously had Flight Rising dragons on them still exist, but now feature completely different packaging.
I have no idea whether they changed the packaging spontaneously or staff did something about it.
I think there’s a potentially interesting story buried down there, but we’ll likely never the truth behind the Flight Rising vape juice.
The Abyss
Humans
There’s been some speculation over the years as to whether or not humans are canon in the Flight Rising universe. Some people believe that the “Mages” of the second age in the official lore are actually humans, but we can’t be sure because they are depicted with long robes that cover their whole bodies.
The idea of humans existing in canon has spawned a couple of memes, most infamously Thomas.
Plague healers
Again, I think the wiki explains this one better:
“According to Aequorin, Plague healers are an interesting bunch because rather than administer treatments that counter illness, they use a mixture of magic and contagion that stress the affected dragon further, allowing them to reach a stronger, healed, and resistant state faster than other elements. Plague healers will treat physical injuries with sutures, bandages, and braces, but they won't clean the wounds or apply ointments."
Akitla
As described in the original thread, Akitla was a dragon that user “qunii” saw on the front page, but noticed that she wasn’t accompanied by the username of the person owning them.
After clicking on her, an error page loaded. It was discovered that putting her color combination or ID in the search bar would result in an error page. This was later fixed, and both Akitla and her mate were now displayed as being exalted to the Arcanist. T
here are some theories as to what happened to the Akitla’s user, some think that she belonged to a deleted account, others that it was the result of an incomplete account creation.
As with a lot of things on this iceberg, it will likely remain a mystery forever.
Arcane sprite book
“what is the arcane sprite reading??” is probably one of the oldest still active threads on the forums.
On September 25, 2013 user “Kaadashi” started a joke thread were they wondered what exactly is the arcane sprite reading, and playfully suggested that it could be erotic fanfiction. People went crazy of course, and started to wonder what kind of juicy secrets were hidden within the pages of that book.
I don’t want to say too much because I really don’t want to spoil the experience of reading through this very cursed tread.
Sunshine
Sunshine is one of the most… interesting lairs on the site, and certainly one of the most well-known.
They(?) have a lair (almost) completely full of triple basic sunshine dragons, most of which are Tundras. So far they have collected about 320 triple hundred Sunshine dragons, almost all of which are also named “Sunshine”. They’re not all the same, some of them have apparel, some of them are gened and some have unique art and descriptions.
They’re dedicated and I respect that.
EDIT 28/06: Apparently some people seem to think that the sunshine-dedicated lair is based on a meme concerning the announcement of the color wheel expansion, which became so discussed that the itself site broke. The two things are unrelated however, as the Sunshine lair has been around for much longer.
The announcement of the color wheel expansion was cryptic, with only a few post showing off differently colored coatls and then 3 pages of reserved posts, with no explanation whatsoever.
Simple Farmer
Another very famous thread is the “I am but a simple farmer” thread started by user “someKindOfGenius”. It’s not really about anything specific, it’s just a rather silly thread were people photoshop flight rising dragons onto various crops.
Still, this thread is iconic so I had to include it.
Dragon Deaths
Way back in 2014 former flight rising programmer Thrage revealed on a forum thread that way back before the beta, dragons could actually starve to death if left unfed.
Yep.
Obviously they had to remove this mechanic because it would have been extremely harsh to casual players and make people frustrated with the game.
Zalvador
User “manojalpa” became fairly well-known for the extremely dark lore they(?) had written for their Clan, it was so dark in fact that every single one of their dragon’s bios had to moved to their tumblr where they couldn’t be easily seen by the site’s mainly underage usebase.
Their lore centered around their progen dragon, a tundra named Zalvador, which behaved and had the same powers as a flight rising user: buying dragons off of the action house, having “breeding projects”, exalting dragons, etc.
These things seem pretty normal when done by a player, but when taking them as actual real things that happen in universe… yeah, it was way too morbid for the site.
The Pit
Black linen neck wraps
For some weird reason, the apparel piece “Black linen neck wrap” when put on a male pose Coatl wraps around the dragon’s throat instead of it’s neck. It’s kind of subtle and hard to see, but if you compare it with the female pose the difference is clear. This is probably just an art error, although it’s weird that it hasn’t been fixed yet, since linen wraps are a very old piece of apparel.
Another weird thing about linen wraps in general is that the wing wraps just sort of… go through the membrane? This is not possible. These dragons are in pain.
Icewarden ears
Another very remarkably popular thread is the Icewarden ears thread.
In 2014 user “Llanai” simply makes note of the fact that the Icewarden has teeny tiny ears.
As we have come to expect from these threads, it quickly devolved into nonsense.
Forbidden Snapper lore
Snappers used to have a way different lore section that was changed because it deemed too similar to the lore of another petsite.
This is what the original section read:
"Snapper dragons do not sleep, but exist in a constant state of reverie. They receive and catalogue all experiences and stories told within their dreams. This persistent state of awakened dreaming awards them the longest memory of any dragon species. They are living encyclopedias, and any dragon who is seeking difficult-to-obtain information will have the most luck unearthing it from a Snapper clan - provided they have the patience for it. If you want two dozen quick answers, talk to a spiral. If you want a fully developed answer, camp out around a Snapper. These dreamers move at their own pace, which varies from dragon to dragon. For some, the awakened dream can prove to be more interesting than their surroundings. This leads to a focus upon the dream, and the waking world as filtered background noise. Interacting with these sleepwalkers can be a trying and repetitive task. Other Snappers may be fairly lucid, with a focus upon their surroundings and the constant hum of the dream pushed aside."
Bee movie script
I’ve seen this story around the forums a few times but I’ve never been able to learn the details.
From what I’ve heard someone copy pasted the entire bee movie script into their clan bio in a drop down text format, which completely broke the page for anyone who visited it. This was fixed, apparently, although I have no clue as to who this user is.
EDIT 28/06: Zeus
Zeus is an XXX gold g1 permababy imperial that used to belong to user "happywing".
Their account is now locked because Zeus was created with the use of a duplication glitch on an imperial breed change scroll, which is obviously not allowed (although I've heard some people say that the dragon was hacked in altogether). Before the account was locked, people speculated that Zeus was the most valuable dragon on the site, because an XXX g1 imperial is impossibly rare.
Wegg shaming
On July 2017 user “Dreamnorn” made a thread were they(?) claimed to have a dream where everything was the same except people used the term “wegged” when two dragons would lay only one egg in a nest.
Ex. Aw man! I’ve been wegged again! = Aw man! I bred two dragons and they only had one egg!
The dream ended up being prophetic, as the term catched on and people started to use it unironically.
The practice of “Wegg shaming” I think refers to the trend of people posting pictures of the dragons that “wegged” them in order to “shame” them.
Plague nest skull
The site art of the plague nest features an unique dragon skull that doesn’t match with any currently existing dragon breed or creature: It appears to have two sets of eyes, like a mirror, but also long and curled horns.
It’s probably just for decoration and it likely doesn’t have any significance whatsoever, but personally I believe it would be pretty cool if when they eventually release plague ancient it at least somewhat resembled this skull.
EDIT 28/06: On second thought, the skull doesn’t seem to have two pairs of eyes, It just has the generic shape of a carnivore.
Rock bottom
CAPTAINPLANET
…this is CAPTAINPLANET. Somehow, user “Decres”' managed to overlay a Fae skin on top of a Tundra, creating this horrifyingly fascinating abomination.
I have no idea how she did this, and she seems pretty adamant to tell.
EDIT 28/06: People have pointed out that this skin overlay glitch was actually somewhat common (although I still haven't found another dragon like CAPTAINPLANET). What you had to do was breed change a dragon while attaching a skin to them in another tab.
This glitch has been patched and such thing is no longer possible.
Lair 46264
A cursed lair.
Dreams
I’ve seen a lot of people, both on forums and on Tumblr, sharing dreams they had about Flight Rising.
A lot of people dream of just being on the site, while occasionally weird things happen.
I’ve read of people who dreamed the distribution of a new breed, buying an exclusive item, a new Fiona feat or Swipp trade, or just browsing the forums.
The most common type of Flight rising-associated dream I’ve seen however is being caught multiaccounting and having their account banned.
I’m no psychoanalyst, but I think it’s pretty clear that these nightmares stem from the paranoia of being banned from their beloved petsite instead of showing any actual intention of doing the “crime” in question.
Anyways, I think it’s fascinating how so many people dream about this site, and it reminds me of the dreams people claimed to have about Mario 64 where completely new levels were added or a scary monster appeared.
Dragon Slime
Dragon Slime was an infamous thread which was supposed to be start off point for an ARG.
It was deleted because it was considered too “spammy” and also because ARGs are banned from the forums. The thread has been lost, unfortunately.
EDIT 28/06: Thanks to @randompurple-fr for providing screenshots of the dragon slime tutorial! You can find them here
Cucumber
Cucumber is the only dragon ever to have been exalted with a skin, which is something that should not be possible. This raises some questions as to what exactly did the person that exalted them do to achieve this, but we have no way of knowing who Cucumber belonged to.
EDIT 28/06: Actually, we do know who used to Cucumber belonged to! Its owner was Osiem: an official flight rising artist. I couldn’t find the thread where they(?) acknowledged the glitch though, if someone has it please let me know!

Title: This Tornado Loves You (link to AO3)
Author: @rabbitcrimes | FeelsForBreakfast (link to AO3)
Fandom: MDZS, The Untamed
Length: 8 821 words | 52 pages total
Hanguang-jun is dating a mild mannered, non-cultivator named Wei Wuxian. The Yiling Laozu rolls up to a nighthunt on a motorbike, no relation at all to the previous statement.
The author made a post for the fic here on tumblr, so go check them out!
.
Fonts used:
Lora
a Agreement Signature
Spartan
Art credits:
Lan Wangji landing the Pizza Hut was photshopped by @rabbitcrimes,
rat swarm by Vojislav Vasiljevic on ArtStation
Motorbike pictures from Silodrome article
The swirly pattern background from Rawpixel
.
Another short fic bound pamphlet style!
I knew before I even started reading that this fic was going to be fun -- the first thing that caught my eye while scrolling down AO3 was the tag ‘Dark Rataouille show me the forbidden rat cultivation’. I was not disappointed! It was great! I also had a lot of fun typesetting and designing the cover for this fic.
I really wanted to incorporate the author’s picture of Lan Wangji landing on the Pizza hut and found that it worked well as a silhouette. The red coulour was inspired by the roof of the Pizza Hut from that picture. And of course the swarm of rats from the story. To fill up some empty space I added a fake sticker (a sin, I know. I’m not sorry despite myself) to the back cover with some of the fic’s tags. I chose the swirling pattern seen on the background of the cover because it reminded me of clouds. And at the end of the Author’s Note I added pictures of the of model of motorcycle Wei Wuxian drives. All of the images I used are credited in the colophon at the back, and I added QR codes alongside the links for easy access. The story itself has a QR code on the page with all of the info from AO3. (I just really hate typing out the full URLs. Scanning a QR code is so much easier!)
I had a hard time choosing a font for the title (nothing new there) but in the end settled with a Agreement Signature (link to Fontspace) for the title and headings, and Spartan (link to Google Fonts) for sub-headings and other non-body text. Spartan is a thin font, and it might just be my printer, but it did not print well at regular weight. Especially at a small font size. In the future I’ll try it out as medium or semi-bold. The main body of the fic is in the font Lora (link to Google Fonts) size 10. I like this one a lot, it’s up there with Crimson Text on my shortlist for serif body fonts.
ALSO! I figured out how to avoid the issue of disappearing Blank Pages when I exported to PDF from LibreOffice Writer! Instead of doing page breaks with the Right Page style, I inserted the empty pages using a break with a page style without headers, followed by one with Right Page style. (And there was much rejoicing.)

🎈 Happy birthday to us! 🎈
In other words, it's our 6 year anniversary. While I don't have flashy new art, I have something that will hopefully make up for that. Several things, actually!
Short version: significant theme quality of life updates, guest artist program is back, date for hiatus end, and new merch!
Long version below the cut
Updated Redbubble store!
Some old, some new, but I'm sure you'll find something to your liking! There's some other stuff in there as well, unrelated to AtF8 or TTTE. Shop link here!
Site Update
Overall, the blog/website should be more accessible to newcomers and easier to navigate in general. Your feedback has been great and I've done my best to implement most of it. The biggest addition of that nature is the Beginner's Guide to Ask the Famous 8. This is a combination of FAQ, general information, and links to additional websites. It also covers whether the series is suitable for children, since I've had at least one for-sure instance where a guardian has reached out to me in lieu of their child. Even if you're an AtF8 veteran, do give it a read.
Easy sorting: Letters • Art • All Posts
I thought I'd add some common tags to the front page so you don't have to dig to find art or character responses. My hope is that this will make navigating easier for newcomers, and more convenient for long-time fans.
Cosmetic Changes
The color theme has been adjusted to be slightly lighter. The banner's font has been changed to be more legible. The old font was taken directly from the official Thomas & Friends website, but it wasn't the easiest to read, so I think this is for the best. The stamps on the banner no longer link anywhere and are faded so as not to draw too much attention. I've added the description nest to the official T&F logo to make the site easier to consume. Now it's very clear what this is right from the front page. I think it adds a nice professional touch, too.
Percy's icon has been changed and is no longer animated. He also no longer links to a page. Trust me, this is for the best, the old one didn't fit the style of the site anymore. Maybe one day I'll make this one animated as well... 🤔
The little copyright tag is brighter so you know who's running the show.
Updated social media buttons!
From left to right: Tumblr (I know this seems redundant, shoosh), Twitter, Instagram, Youtube playlist, Redbubble, and Fandom Wiki. Patreon will be coming soon 👀
Guest Artist Program
The guest artist program has returned! You can apply here https://forms.gle/kgKLr2bURX6XSv977. Before the hiatus ends, I'll be reviewing these in the meantime. Once the hiatus is over I'll start reaching out to people. To start off I'm aiming for one guest a month, but if we have enough applicants and I can stay on top of things, this might increase. I'm going to be implementing some new experimental features, hence why I'd like to take things slow rather than dive head in.
Back from the dead: some pages have been updated and returned!
Taglist - Comprehensive list of the tags used on this blog, with a few exceptions Romance - List of couples
Character Pages! The character buttons no longer link to the character's tag, but rather a brief introduction page.
After some great feedback, they should be much easier to digest, now. They're nice and simple, most of the info there provided by the characters themselves, and if you want something more in-depth you can check the wiki!
Official date for the end of the hiatus
February 1, 2022
I finally have some trips back home lined up for this month and December and I'd like to enjoy those without worrying about this series. When I get back I'll need to start seriously looking for jobs, but also my current visa expires in January and I really gotta get that sorted. However, that doesn't mean I won't be drawing anything! It's more that I want to continue improving non-ask aspects of this series before I resume them since asks take up most of the time I spend here. But if you want to see new content ahead of the curve, you can join my Patreon when it goes live- hopefully by the end of the year.
And that's it! I hope you enjoy these new features and I look forward to seeing you when we return from hiatus! Thanks for 800 followers and thank you for 6 lovely years!!!!

FAQ
What is the purpose of Fanexus?
Fanexus was originally conceived as a way to make it easier to organize fandom content. The founders are fans who have followed fandom activity as it has migrated across many different social media platforms, and found that none of them quite suited their needs. After spending years thinking about how each of these platforms could be altered to better support fandom activity, we eventually realized that we’d amassed the money, skills and connections to make a platform ourselves.
Fanexus is also open to use by original creators; original works are where fandom begins, after all. Enthusiasts of non-media fandoms, such as people who are passionate about interests as broad as cooking, crafting, interior decorating, brewing, extreme sports, rock collecting, history, model-building, archaeology, philosophy, etc, are also all welcome to use Fanexus as a place to post about and discuss their interests and ideas. Fanexus can be used for any type of interest so long as it doesn’t violate our rules regarding legality, harassment and hate speech.
While we originally wanted to create Fanexus as a means to better organize our content, as we’ve watched toxicity in fandom grow to increasingly alarming levels in the last few years, we’ve decided that making Fanexus a space that actively opposes this toxicity is a goal of equal importance to us. We want Fanexus to be a place where people can explore weird, complex and dark things in art and fiction without being accused of endorsing those things, and can have nuanced discussions and debates without things immediately devolving into insults and dogpiling.
You can read more about the philosophy driving Fanexus here.
Why an integrated wiki?
We would like to go over some of the issues we’ve faced as fans that inspired the inclusion of the wiki:
There are a lot of fandoms that have very complex fanon worldbuilding/terminology/characterisations/etc, and this can be very confusing for a new fan. The way we have the wiki set up means that users will be able to go straight from a post that mentions those concepts to the wiki page for those concepts (we’ll elaborate on how this works in a later post dedicated to this feature), instead of having to search through other parts of the internet for an up-to-date fanon wiki for this fandom. We feel like people will be more likely to keep these wiki pages updated than they would if it were an external wiki, because once they have accounts on Fanexus, it will be very easy to quickly go and update a wiki page on the site, rather than going and creating a new account for a separate wiki.
In a similar vein, fandoms can produce very interesting AUs that many different fans contribute to. We’ve had the experience of coming across a piece of artwork or fiction based on one of these AUs and wanting to know more, but then finding it very difficult to track down information that explains what the AU is about, and people’s various different takes on it. We thought that by providing a wiki feature, people could create pages for each of these AUs and then update them as they develop. The AU itself may not be complex enough to justify the creation of an entire wiki for it, but having a page or two dedicated to it could certainly be helpful. The same logic applies to things such as OCs.
People develop their own personal headcanons which can be very complex, and it can be tiresome to have to explain them over and over. So if users can create wiki pages for each of their headcanons (or AUs, OCs, etc) and link them whenever they’re necessary to understand the context of say, a fic they wrote or a piece of art they made, it could save them a lot of bother. Personal wiki pages won’t be available on launch, but we’re endeavouring to add them as soon as we can.
Can you tell us more about your other features?
Details of the features we’ve announced so far can be found here.
We intend to add new features to Fanexus to improve our users’ experiences for as long as we have the funding to do so. We endeavour to add features that are highly demanded by our userbase, so long as the features in question are within our legal and technical capabilities to implement, and align with the philosophy of Fanexus.
How is this being funded? Will it be free to use?
Right now the beta is being paid for by the founders. Once the beta is online and in use, we plan to have a Kickstarter to fund the development of additional features we couldn’t afford to include in the beta. Fanexus will be freemium, which means it will be free to use, with premium features such as added customisation, that will be used for the ongoing funding of the site.
Will there be a mobile app?
Currently we have a responsive web app, but a mobile app is one of the first things we intend to develop should we get the required funding via the Kickstarter.
What kind of customisation options will Fanexus have?
In the long term, we hope to introduce in-depth customisation options to Fanexus, some of which will be premium options. We will take feedback from our userbase to decide what customisation features we will prioritise implementing first.
Are all ships welcome on Fanexus?
Yes. We understand that the reasons someone may enjoy a ship can be very complex, unexpected and/or personal, and have nothing to do with a belief that the ship is healthy or a desirable relationship to have in reality. So long as a person understands the separation between fiction and reality, and knows what a healthy real life relationship is like, we maintain that they should be able to ship what they like. We just ask that they tag their content for people who wish to avoid it. This extends to the shipping of real life people, with the provision that if Fanexus gets a direct request from any of these real people asking to have shipping content of them removed, we will remove content containing them specifically, out of courtesy.
Is NSFW content allowed on Fanexus?
Fanexus welcomes NSFW content, simply requiring that it be tagged with an adult content warning so that it is hidden from underage users.
Our servers are currently hosted in Denmark, so content posted on Fanexus must abide by Danish law.
Further details of what sort of content is and isn’t permitted on Fanexus will be outlined in our TOS, which will be shared prior to launch.
How old do you have to be to use Fanexus?
Fanexus will be 13+, with adults-only spaces. On sign up, users will be asked if they are over 18, and anyone who indicates that they are a minor will be required to enter their DOB. Posts and blogs that are marked as Adults Only will then be hidden from minor users until they turn 18. Minors found to be lying about their age to interact with adult content will be banned. We looked into ways we could have people prove their age on sign up, but we couldn’t find any practical, reliable method. People were uncomfortable with providing personal information, and given that many adults don’t have credit cards, while many minors borrow their guardians’ credit cards, having people make a credit card deposit to prove their age wasn’t a viable solution.
Will Fanexus be doing anything to protect minors?
We believe that the best form of protection against online dangers is education, and so we’re in the process of compiling educational resources to be made available on the site so that people are aware of what sort of red flags to look out for when it comes to a variety of online threats. We also want to provide information about the separation between fiction and reality, so that minors (or anybody impressionable) won’t misunderstand or be manipulated with fiction into thinking that unhealthy behaviors and attitudes presented in dark/complicated/self-indulgent fiction and art are acceptable in reality.
We currently have the following ideas for distributing this information:
We’ll have a staff blog that provides site updates, and also periodically posts articles containing this information.
We’ll keep a compilation of this information available on a page on the site, which will be easily accessible via the navigation bar.
Eventually we want to introduce a feature where if a user searches for particular keywords, a banner appears above the search results, linking to helpful/education information relevant to the keywords. The banner will be able to be hid so it doesn’t show up again in subsequent searches.
We will of course also have a mod team watching out for any reports of suspect behaviour that may be endangering minors (or any of our users), who will take action to neutralise these threats. Another feature we are planning to develop to help our mods protect minors is a keyword detector for comments and DMs. This will scan the comments and DMs of minor users for any keywords that suggest they may be being targeted, and send a warning to our mods to check up on them.
What is your affiliation with the Prostasia Foundation?
The Prostasia Foundation is a child protection organization that adopts an evidence-based approach to child sexual abuse prevention, that respects human rights and is sex-positive. Being evidence-based means that their positions are based on scientific research. Fanexus reached out to Prostasia because we agree with these tenets, and wanted to find ways to create a safe space that doesn’t resort to censorship. Prostasia proved to be extremely helpful in this respect, offering us information on legality, the impact fiction actually has on reality, and effective methods to protect minors, all based on research. They have also offered to help us develop our keyword detector feature.
Prostasia has an Advisory Council made of voluntary, unpaid experts from relevant fields. These advisory members do not carry any vote or authority on deciding Prostasia policy, and the views that they express on social media or elsewhere are not necessarily representative of the views of the Prostasia Foundation. Fanexus’s point of contact with Prostasia has been with the Foundation’s Executive Director, and we have no affiliation with the members of their Advisory Council.
Similarly, Fanexus has no vote or authority in deciding Prostasia policy, nor do we sign off on anything they publish, unless it directly references us. The reverse is also true, while Prostasia provides us with advice, they don’t sign off on all the decisions or statements made by Fanexus.
Are you trying to replace Archive of Our Own?
No. We love Archive of Our Own and we have tremendous respect for the Organisation for Transformative Works, but we can’t affiliate with them due to the rules that govern not-for-profit organisations. You will definitely be able to host fanfiction and original fiction on Fanexus, but we’re currently more focused on covering the areas that Archive of Our Own doesn’t already have great features for, such as providing a space where people can host art, have discussions, role play, and document information about their headcanons, worldbuilding, original characters, etc.
Will Fanexus be open to all or invite-only?
We want Fanexus to be open to all eventually, but we also anticipate that the sort of people who promote and thrive on fandom’s toxicity will sign-up with the express purpose of breaking the rules we put in place to protect people from them. To avoid that happening en masse on launch, Fanexus will initially be invite-only. Once we have an established community of fans who can report trolls and other troublemakers, we will open Fanexus up.
In order to get an invite to Fanexus, you will need to apply via this form. If you are accepted, you will be emailed an invite (please check your junk mail) to our Forum and Discord. Users of the Forum and Discord will be given priority invites to the site.
When’s the release?
As of the 29th of August, most of our initial features are finished, and are in the process of being bug-tested. We plan to start allowing users of our Forum/Discord on the site within the next month. Fanexus will open up to the public after the Forum/Discord users have thoroughly tested the capabilities of the site, and we’ve implemented any further features required to cover weaknesses they’ve found.
Are there other places I can follow Fanexus news?

FAQ
Posting this as a post to replace our previous “page”.
Feel free to drop us an “Ask” if you can’t find what you are looking for here!
Hey, I’m kinda new in town, can you tell me more about Alpha/Beta/Omega // Omegaverse?
Oh boy, can we! We could probably talk about it all night! But the best way to discover more is to read some fics, because everyone has their own take on the A/B/O AU and some writers even write several stories set within completely different A/B/O societal structures.
The basics you need to know: Society is usually split into two genders (male/female) and three secondary genders (alpha/beta/omega) which come with a variety of anatomical differences as well as societal norms and dynamics. Biologically the most important aspect is the heat/rut mating cycle that drives alphas and omegas to mate. You will notice Mpreg, yes male omegas can get pregnant! And also see the word “knotting” a lot, and there’s no way we can address this without confirming - yes, knotting, like dogs. This whole thing rose out of Supernatural fandom werewolf fics so… what can we tell ya? But the most important aspect of many fics is the societal dynamics. You will find lots of parallels drawn within fics with feminism and gender and sexual equality.
If that sounds like something you’re interested in, then dive right in! If you want to know more, do check out this awesome Alphas, Betas, Omegas: A Primer by norabombay
How does the Library work?
On a weekly basis we trawl tumblr and AO3 for new content.
Then on a weekly basis (usually Sundays and occasionally Wednesdays or both), we reblog and crosspost everything we’ve collected, along with anything you have submitted to us or @ at us.
We will crosspost from AO3 (with an @ to the author if we know their tumblr handle). However we always try to reblog from tumblr if there is also a tumblr post, so that the creator gets the blog traffic.
Where can I find things?
Originally we started out by logging everything in Pages. Which was not only time consuming but also it turned out that tumblr hadn’t made the pages function available on Apps - which is how many people access tumblr. As such we discontinued updating these pages, but instead have now set up this MASTERPOST.
The Masterpost links through to tags on the blog so that you can click a tag/pairing/theme/dynamic you like and scroll through everything we have so far reblogged. The Masterpost is constantly updated (so do always check back), as new tags/pairings/dynamics, etc are added.
NB: In the future we may reformat the pages to host all completed fics from AO3 that fit out remit, but this is going to be down to time constraints of the mods.
Can I link you my own fic/art/gifs/etc?
Yes absolutely! We will blog your own work or any recommendations you have, as long as they are Hannigram/rarepairs/AUs etc and A/B/O in nature. Feel free to send it as an Ask, submit it via the blog, or @ us in your tumblr post so we don’t miss it.
What about where only a single chapter in an ongoing fic is A/B/O ?
You are more than welcome to link it to us, but where possible link us the specific chapter(s) and/or make clear which chapter(s) are A/B/O so we can make this easily accessible for the readers.
Tagging on Tumblr
On a weekly basis we search for various Hannigram and A/B/O related tags within tumblr to find your posts and reblog them.
To help up find you, please tag your posts as Hannibal and/or Hannigram and include at least one variation of an A/B/O tag - such as omegaverse, alpha hannibal or omega hannibal, etc.
Important Note: This is not fool proof. If your blog is marked as private it may not come up in the searches. Also - we know from experience that tumblr tags do not always work regardless of the settings and searches we use. For example the posts of almost all our Mods never show up in searches despite being tagged correctly, Overcoming fic updates show up only 50% of the time, many ongoing fic and art series that we know of rarely show if at all. Please tag anyway because we still do find a lot that way!
I linked you/posted/blogged some a fic/art/etc but it hasn’t been reblogged yet!
Our current schedule is that we run a queue of reblogs and AO3 crossposts every Sundays (and occasionally on Wednesdays). However, there will be times this might not be possible due to life constraints of the mods.
If Sunday has come and gone and you were not reblogged please feel free to send us an Ask to double check we saw it. As always, we’d always prefer to get things more than once than not at all.
Regarding Asks - we tend to save these up and answer a few in one go (usually not on a Sunday). So replies to Asks may get posted any day. If we anticipate a long delay in replying to an Ask one of our Mods will possible message you to let you know that we are on it!
Canon, non-canon, AUs and Rare Pairs!
We will reblog all of these as long as they fit out remit of being A/B/O in nature. As always, to ensure we find them on tumblr please do let us know about them in our Ask box or @ us.
On a weekly basis we search the Hannibal (TV) and Hannibal Extended Universe tags for A/B/O fics. We strongly recommend you include your rarepair fics under Hannibal Extended Universe. See this info post for more details.
We also encourage creators to also tag as Hannibal and/or Hannigram on tumblr so that it isn’t missed by us or other readers.
What about reccing non-con, underage, specific kinks etc?
It isn’t going to be to everyone’s taste but we won’t censor submissions/reblogs/crossposts. We only ask that they are clearly tagged where appropriate (including AO3) so that readers know what they are getting!
Can you link my tumblr name in the library pages or crossposts?
We’re can’t @ tumblrs in the library pages, as unfortunately they don’t work the same as posts. However, where the tumblr name is known or given we will include them in any crossposts from AO3.
What if I see something mistagged or logged wrong in the library/Masterpost?
Please do get in touch with us via the Ask box if you think there are any errors, or with suggestions how to make this more user friendly. We are totally not infallible, so we welcome any and all feedback.
Is there anything you won’t reblog?
For the sake of our Follower’s dashboards, we will not reblog overly long tumblr posts that do not include a “keep reading” page cut.
We also don’t currently reblog works inspired by Overcoming (only the fic and podfic updates) as it has it’s own blog that we would just be duplicating - see post here for details. The only exceptions being works tagged specifically for one of our infrequent fests.
We reserve the right not to reblog or crosspost from AO3 anything from creators who have abused or harassed this blog directly or any of it’s mods. We’re sorry to have to add this, but based on events that occurred we don’t believe we should be compelled to cater to anyone who has behaved poorly, harassed, abused and/or threatened this blog or anyone associated with it.
Can we link work from anywhere?
Yes! Link us the AO3 or tumblr no problem! If it is on another website please be sure to mention if it is your own work or who should be credited/source if it isn’t clear.
This is awesome! How can I get more involved?
The first stage of this library is to fill it, so the best way you can get involved right now is to read, write and rec the ABO to us. Just drop them into our Ask box so we can reblog and add them to the library.
We also run occasional events/fests that we welcome participation in.
Who the heck are you people and what is this all about?
Just like you, we are readers, writers and lovers of A/B/O. We decided to set up this blog after seeing something similar (non- A/B/O) in another fandom and thinking “why don’t we have one of those for Hannigram A/B/O?!”
Our aim is to create a user friendly and interactive resource in the form of a library of A/B/O works in easy to find categories, as well as a blog dedicated to reblogging A/B/O works and recs. In the long run we hope to do more to encourage more A/B/O writing in this fandom, which is so excellently suited to it!
This blog is administrated by @desperatelyseekingcannibals / TigerPrawn and @VictorineB / Victorine with assistance from @tcbook / TCbook and @Slashyrogue / nightliferogue
Feel free to say hi to us!

WoD Prelude: Vampire end-game review
World of Darkness Preludes: Vampire and Mage on steam, ios and google play store
This review is about the game in a vacuum. I will make another post about the authors, the meaning behind it, and WWP as a whole. This is, let’s say, a drama-free, spoiler-free review of the game as a game, ignoring everything else.
Thanks to @abadbadman (whom I can’t tag for some reason… thanks again so much <3) I’ve been able to play the VtM/Mage preludes. This is a spoiler-free game review now that I finished it! I also recommend this very well made, spoiler free steam review.
I have liveblogged it and with the tag “secrets liveblogs” you can avoid spoilers. I try and put the most heavy stuff under “read more” but sometimes shit happens sorry :p
What kind of game is it?
It’s a choose your own adventure text-based game. You’re texting your contacts and have, sometimes, options to “fill in the blanks”.. So you have “some” leverage to how you “did” things as you tell them to your contacts. So your game system is just your mouse (or your finger if mobile version) to choose the options. No QTE, no skill involved. There’s no stats, you don’t know what you’re good at, or bad at, and you don’t really choose who you text or what you choose to not tell them. You cannot rewind, but you can restart any chapter.
Except there’s little to no “choose your own adventure”, and more of “pick the right choice”, which can be incredibly frustrating. I died so many times xD
So, it’s a very linear game. Which in and out of itself defeats the purpose of licensing a RPG...
The music and sound effects, which I didn’t mention in my first review, were fine and nice. I usually play soundless, this is why I didn’t mention it previously.
The characters. Some of them are really well developed, but the protagonist (Case) is just uninteresting af, is it a self insert by Zak? And for many, my question is “why are they even here?”. They’re all insane, though, nobody texts “like a normal person”. I mean, it’s full of rambles and trips all the time, there’s only very few people who have a normal, believable text conversation (even taking into account the vampiric aspect of it). Everyone’s drugged out of their minds, how am I supposed to sympathize, feel a connection, or get into the character’s mind? Nothing anyone does is remotely rational (again, even taking into account the whole vampiric stuff). Why isn’t there a block option? Or ignore? And the “high end characters” just.. lack elegance, to say the least.
The art. the whole aesthetic of the game, I just don’t like it, I dislike modern art, I hate how sometimes the author(s) added in a “oh, I drew this” to jerk off and show off their artz. They serve no purpose, they give no clues that can be read and tbh they’re just useless for me as a player. If they were more accessible and not just a splash of ink on paper, I’d actually be able to have them be “in game” and use them. Most of them are sent from the other main character, who has “dreams”, they are supposed to be important! But I can’t even read them. Am I that dense? Am I not working hard enough to get in the artsy mood? Blah. What I really did like, was the interface of the mobile, the name, the color coding. That was really well done. So, good job on UI!!:)
The story. It’s not a terrible story; it’s just pretty nonsensical, some decisions are very out of character, or at least out of context; so you know you’re being hunted down, but you accept an invite to a random high society house for a drug-party. Why do I want to go there? Why am I not doing X or Y instead? Why didn’t I keep contact with whatever? But there are moments where your “battery is dying”, that’s nice. Too bad that’s the only thing i can really salvage. There is a hint of a Bloodlines character being there, though! And a few real names are used as well.
The writing. There’s clear research on wording, phrasing, and characterization through dialogue; I can differentiate most characters easily. There are great lines in there, but overall it’s drowned in the clusterfuck of spam that gives me no real information to make any decision, everyone uses weird non-factual wording, and you just go along with the drug-high. Maybe, again, I’m too dense to “see the vision of the author(s)”? I had a few laughs, and I really enjoyed most of what wasn’t a drug ramble of random stuff (”and this is how I’m here in the gutter dying but I wanted to say goodbye” for instance, or “but I’m weak and an idiot and now [killer] has a new shitty phone”), but there are really a bunch of misses “but he was too strong I knew it would fail” while you’re being killed is just bleh. What I absolutely cannot accept is that “hey, use voice to text to be stealthy” few aspects that happen mid-to-late-game. Do these people know who voice to text work? Also, the writing of those texts is terrible (they really look typed, instead of “computer heard and typed for you”, aka, there’s no “god damn autocorrect” moments, cuz you all know how voice to text, hushed and fast, can do shit). That’s just poor research/work, or at best, it’s plain laziness.
Mechanically speaking.
The game is sometimes broken because when you “retry”, you often have no choices in your options (like there’s only one option and it kills you), which means you need to restart the full chapter (which is long sometimes).
Unlike Princess Makers, where you really need to restart the FULL GAME at each death (no rewind, but considering how short and easy to skip these games are, it’s only enhancing replayability), this ability to “try again and pick the right option ;)” is a bit annoying; not because I get to try again, but because of the god damn dead ends that force me one way, which is shitty for a choose your own adventure game. Being able to read back the texts and so is nice, though.
Sometimes the game goes black “you died” before you even had the time to read what happened. That’s poor coding as well.
Choices were sometimes weird; just “turning around the corner” gets you killed without any explanation, but other totally random shits nope. Why? I mean, there’s no reason. At least Ming Xiao explains you stuff and while you’re fucked, the ending feels satisfying to the player (you had it coming though lol). What about non-death end-games ? Like “And you finished as a slave of [person] while texting lobotomized shit to your friends”. That would have been fine. But no, nothing like that.
The fact that I knew almost nothing about my character and what they know of other characters is just stupid. There’s also no instance where I can choose who to text, the game forces me one way and tough luck, I fucking hate that when I’m being told it’s a game about choices and agency. I felt I had almost none. I felt railroaded to the “right choice” all along, and because the game didn’t carry on despite my failure (like a good visual novel does 95% of the time), it was a frustrating experience.
As a game, it’s a failure. As a story, it’s a failure. In terms of progressiveness and bringing something out there, it’s a failure, it’s worse than that, it’s a step back. There are far better choose your own adventure games, and apart from dropping some names, this has almost nothing to do with VtM ; many twists of the lore, way too many exceptions... Everyone’s a special snowflake and I hate that. No surprise there.
I felt I was playing Damsel (in a very, very bad way). “Fuck off” or “you’re disgusting!” isn’t a choice, you dense assholes.
You might not want to buy it because of the controversy about the authors. I say don’t buy it because it’s bad. We deserve better.

Eris
Eris is a portfolio theme from Themes Kingdom, one of my favorite theme makers and it’s simple, efficient and lovely. Simple to use too, which is always nice, especially if you’re a beginner. It seems like more and more theme makers are creating more complex, difficult to use themes. In my opinion, some of the designs are great and if you’re an expert with WordPress, you can make something unique and beautiful. However, the learning curve can be pretty steep, so sometimes a simpler solution is a better solution. That’s where a theme like Eris comes in. All of Themes Kingdom’s themes are simple to use and beautiful. If you need a clean, modern WordPress theme for your portfolio, it’s certainly worth considering this responsive, modern and professional portfolio theme.

We have spent the last week traipsing around the apocalyptic world of Ubisoft’s Far Cry New Dawn. The question is, should you prepare for this apocalyptic journey as well.
Read our review to find out
When we last visited Hope County in the world of Far Cry 5, preppers were everywhere and the bad guys were pretty much gone. A few years later, nuclear war breaks out and the world is in chaos. The preppers were ready and head down into their bunkers, ready to ride out the death and destruction that they prepared for. Years pass and they emerge into this new world, ready to rebuild society and create a place for their children to live. Of course there are always those that don’t want to actually work for their survival, and use their strength and weaponry to take what others have created. These are the Highwaymen, and they are Far Cry New Dawn‘s bad guys.
Hopeless County
We enter this world 17 years after the apocalypse, and it is up to us to help defeat the Highwaymen and their leaders, a sadistic and formidable set of twins that take what they want with force. The twins are daughters of a violent past that is told through only a few short cut scenes, but these few scenes are enough to show us how they turned into these violent women. They arte strong and were taught that the strong can rule the weak and take what others have worked for, with no regards for human life. They are a pair of villains raised and reared just for the apocalypse, and they are a pair of tough adversaries.
The story for Far Cry New Dawn is well written, and told through not only cut scenes but also notes, letters, and diary entries found throughout the open world and within the unique Expeditions. You could just play through the game and ignore these items and still have a good story, but these items are worth the time to stop and read and add a depth you might not expect. There are some that tie back into Far Cry 5, so make sure you keep an eye out for them as there are quite a few lying all over the place with some adding a nice touch of humor in a rather vicious and deadly world.
Prospering in Prosperity
Game play is centered around building up your home base, named Prosperity, in order to build better weapons, vehicles, and have better folks or animals to help you in a battle. For those returning to the franchise from Far Cry 5, you’ll feel right at home with the mechanics of the game, and for those of you new to the series, the game is easy to pick up and play. Once you’ve reached the Elite level of weapons, you’ll be able to start upgrading these with crafting material. The game has a bit of an RPG feel to it and that’s not a bad thing. Upgrade material is found everywhere and maps for these items can be purchased using ethanol, which is also fairly easy to obtain. These maps also give you plenty of fast travel points for easy navigation around the vast open world, so unlocking at least a couple of these maps can aid you on your journey.
Another point for fast travel are outposts, once you’ve captured them. These outposts are also a great way to earn ethanol, as you can scavenge them them and allow the highwaymen to come and take it back. Once you do that, you can then proceed to capture it again, with the difficulty level increasing from a I to a III, with each successful recapture earning you more and more material. Capture it three times and it becomes liberated, but locks in at a Level III difficulty. As long as you have it captured, you can fast travel to it and have access to a garage or boat dock, along with a work bench for crafting weapons, ammo, and turning in any items you have found along your journey.
Help is almost always just a radio call away
As you progress through the story missions, you’ll unlock different specialists needed to help out around camp, as well as assist you in your journeys as a Gun For Hire. These specialists are perfect for those that want to play the game in solo mode and each one has their own skillset. There’s a sniper, a berserker, a heavy machine gunner, a rocket launcher dude, a stealth master, your trusty attack dog, and then there’s Horatio, the awesome attack boar. Depending on what kind of help you need, should determine which one of these folks you call upon. You can switch out at almost anytime, with the exception of Expeditions, so trial and error comes in handy.
Each one of these folks also improve their own abilities as they rack up their own personal kill count, so be sure to give them all plenty of work. Personally Timber is my ride-or-die since he not only is an excellent weapon, he can also highlight those much needed resources and bad guys. You can command your specialist to attack bad guys for you, and Timber seems the best for this. He can single-pawedly capture an outpost, with you just pointing at the bad guys to take out. Now that’s a good boy.
Alcatraz looks like a Beautiful Hell
Expeditions become available once you’ve upgraded Prosperity and Roger Cadoret’s chopper. These are 7 unique locations that are outside of the main game world and are in places like Florida, Louisiana, and Alcatraz, to name a few. Your goal is to find a marked back pack, travel to an extraction point, and then survive until Roger returns with the chopper. These places are jam packed with resources and can earn you some much needed material in order to craft Elite weapons. You can also find a special outfit and easter egg from Splinter Cell‘s Sam Fisher awaiting you, if you can unlock the mystery to its location.
You can bring one of your specialists with you, but they have to already be called before you launch an expedition and can’t be brought back from the dead if they die within the expedition. They can only be revived if you fail, or once you completed the expedition and return back to Prosperity. Expedition difficulty goes up automatically as you successfully complete them, and just like outposts they go from Level I to Level III, with Level III expeditions becoming more random as far as where the item you have to extract is placed. Each Expedition is its own game world, so the developer was able to pack in a large quantity of bad guys for you to kill and be attacked by, and create a large area for you to explore and hunt in.
A World of Things to Do and See
The game world is very much alive with plants and animals galore. It’s a colorful place one wouldn’t expect to find in a post apocalyptic landscape. Some time has passed since the bombs dropped, so some color should be expected. Some plants have medicinal value and can be picked and stored for later use. You can create medicine packs once you have enough materials, so keep an eye out for those plants with a visible shimmer, as they only take a second or so to pick, and can be found just about everywhere in the world.
Animals can also be found all over the place, and there are some that are huge. The Monstrous animals are much harder to take down and have glowing red spots that are their weak points. these animals are worth more and can be used to craft Elite weapons and vehicles, so taking them down is worth the effort. There are plenty of smaller animals for you to hunt and how you kill them will determine how much material you obtain from them. using a bow is generally the best way to insure maximum quantities, but throwing knives work as well. Taking out a small rabbit with a .50 cal handgun isn’t going to leave much for you to harvest, but it does the job.
Perks for your Character
More RPG like elements can be found the game’s Perk system. These are items and traits that are unlocked through perk points that can be earned by completing tasks within the game, like capturing outposts, completing expeditions, and saving hostages. These perks include a grappling hook, a wingsuit, fishing improvements, and the ability to fix or sabotage a vehicle, to name a few. Some of the traits are stackable, so just unlocking one doesn’t mean you are done with it. You can keep stacking the light ammo perk to keep increasing how much ammo you can carry for weapons, giving you more and more ammo capability. You can also stack the medkit perk giving you a crazy amount of health available, as well as the throwable perk giving you more and more Molotov cocktails and grenades to chunk.
Limited co-op Saving
The one main gripe for the game has to be the fact that when playing co-op, only the host’s gameplay is saved. While resources can be earned for non-hosts, if you and a buddy want to play the game start-to-finish, you’ll have to play through it twice in order to give each player credit for all of the missions, with each player taking turns hosting. This includes capturing outposts and even completing expeditions. While the game is fun to play, having to do everything twice can become very repetitious. Games like Ghost Recon Wildlands don’t have these limitations, so it’s disappointing to find that here. While this shouldn’t be something to turn you away from a great game, it is something you should be aware of if you are planning on playing some co-op missions.
Ubisoft’s Far Cry New Dawn is a gorgeous game with a colorful world that is full of many things to see and do. The story is well written, with a cinematic feel at times, with one scene reminiscent of Martin Sheen’s epic journey up the Nung River in Coppola’s Apocalypse Now.
Priced at only $39.99 in the US, the return to Hope County is well worth its price tag. Don’t hesitate to see what a post apocalyptic world may look like, and do your part to insure the bad guys don’t prevail.

Exciting new paper stocks for your next print project
Leapin’ lizards! The last time there were so many new, uncoated paper stocks introduced to the graphic design community was probably the same week that fire was invented. It’s been a long time coming, but there are great new finishes, textures and hues now available for printing and packaging projects.
With the addition of these beautiful new paper stocks design potential is growing exponentially. Coupling the new stunning colors and finishes with outstanding graphic design can yield breathtaking results. In this article we’ll introduce you to some exciting new paper options and what you can use them for.
But, first some background on uncoated paper stocks.
What are uncoated paper stocks? —
For the past several decades, there have basically been about a half-dozen finishes and textures manufactured which fall under the uncoated paper umbrella.
Non-embossed, uncoated paper stocks
This business card gets a lot of character from uncoated paper stocks. Design by Ian Douglas.
There are several types of non-embossed, uncoated paper finishes. Vellum paper has almost an eggshell appearance and a somewhat rough-hewn finish. Its name is sometimes confused with translucent paper, which is correctly known as ultravellum. Chances are good that paper manufactured for stationery usage, letterheads and matching envelopes is wove paper. This typically has a semi-smooth surface and no real distinguishing characteristics. Smooth and ultra-smooth paper has been repeatedly flattened during the manufacturing process. This finish is commonly used in copying machines and for digital printing.
Smooth and vellum finishes are often available as opaque paper stocks. Generally, these are low-priced “work-horse” paper stocks that have reduced show-through and are most suitable for reports, workbooks, journals and other lengthier publications. These are perhaps more for function than for design.
Embossed, uncoated paper stocks
Among the embossed, tactile, uncoated paper finishes, laid paper gives the feel and appearance of a very traditional (some would say aged), hand-crafted, high-quality paper. It has a series of continuous, fine lines on its surface that run parallel to the paper’s grain direction. A linen paper is a more complex version of laid. Linen stocks are reminiscent of fine linen napkins or tablecloths, featuring a crosshatch pattern on both sides of the stock. Felt paper has a coarse, grainy texture, which appears as a series of hills and valleys on the paper surface when magnified.
Exciting new paper stocks you need to know about —
Now, let’s explore several of the new and exciting print and packaging paper options available to art directors and business owners looking to make their print projects shine.
I’ll take cream and two sugars with that paper
Kona Paper by Monadnock Paper Mills via JetPens.com
Monadnock Paper Mills, based in leafy New Hampshire, has been manufacturing fine printing and packaging paper since way back in 1819. Despite its old age, it has introduced some truly rad, new products to the market.
Taking recycling to the max, Monadnock has created Kona Paper, which is produced from fiber derived from used burlap coffee bags. Saving these bags from eternal life in landfills, they have been repurposed into paper stock used for labels, tags and folding boxes/packaging. Manufactured in two caffeine inspired hues, Light Roast and Medium Roast, Kona can be appropriate for offset and digital print reproduction.
It’s rewarding to be part of a solution where you divert packaging from the landfill.
- Lisa Berghaus
“It’s rewarding to be part of a solution where you divert packaging that was made from natural fiber from the landfill, and make something new and really beautiful,” explains Lisa Berghaus, Monadnock Paper’s Director of Marketing Communications. “We’re helping to close this loop in the coffee supply chain.“
In a nod to the ever-expanding signage market, Monadnock earlier this year announced the introduction of their Ultrahide Blockout Poster stock. This is a 100 percent opaque cover stock (meaning no show-through), ideal for two-sided signage, window signs and other retail, point-of-purchase, event and hospitality uses. It is most suitable for offset printing and Latex or UV inkjet.
The key to kolour
Keaykolour by Mohawk
New York State’s Mohawk Fine Papers has very recently been named the sole US distributor of Keaykolour. Long established outside the US and manufactured by Arjowiggins Paper, Keaykolour has been revamped by Mohawk; actually transforming the brand to better serve the US graphic community’s needs.
Among the changes made to Keaykolour: it is now available in 43 hues, including three shades of white. The beautiful color palette works individually or combined, with hues ranging from Cappuccino (notice a coffee theme here) to Blackberry to Lipstick to Steel.
Using colored paper has never been so easy and accessible.
- Chris Harrold
“Using colored paper has never been so easy and accessible,” says Chris Harrold, Vice President and Creative Director for Mohawk. “Simply choose from 43 colors in text or cover weight.“
Keaykolour has a vellum finish, and is manufactured in 80 lb text and 111 lb cover weights. Keaykolour can be the right choice for a wide-breadth of projects, and is compatible with both offset and HP Indigo digital printing. Matching envelopes can also be provided.
All that glitters is paper
Glitter you can print on! Diamond Print by Harmony Papers.
Looking for a lot of glitter with that design? Harmony Papers has created Diamond Print, which they describe as printable glitter paper. Certified for HP Indigo digital and offset printing, Diamond Print can provide a truly memorable background for everything from invitations to pocket folders to envelopes to displays to packaging.
Diamond Print is made in Crystal (white) and Champagne (natural white) colors, in text and cover weights.
So classic, yet so radical
Neenah Paper’s Classic Paper has been a go-to brand for the design community for decades, but it has recently become a whole lot more interesting. In 2017, the Neenah mill added three totally unique, completely unduplicated, new finishes to the Classic family, collectively known as Classic Textures.
For designers and brands seeking a paper texture that gives off a warm, homey vibe, Classic Woodgrain provides the aesthetic charm of a wood finish. Neenah’s Commercial Sales Manager Holly Kirby says, “With an organic feel and complementary color palette, Classic Woodgrain was developed specifically because designers requested an environmental, organic touch to fall in line with current trends.”
Designers requested an environmental, organic touch to fall in line with current trends.
- Holly Kirby
Last, but not least, is Classic Techweave, a finish that embodies the texture of fabric, but with a high-tech twist. Kirby describes Techwave as “high touch meets high tech with this new texture.” She adds that, “It is the feel of finely woven fabric, with one-of-a-kind surface, inspired by the movement of digital data.” Both of these are available in six shades of white, plus ten additional colors; manufactured in weights ranging from 80 lb text to 165 lb double-thick cover.
Neenah has also expanded its Cotton brand of 100 percent cotton paper that’s ideal for letterpress, engraving, embossing, foil stamping and digital or offset printing. Three new hues in the Letterpress finish—blush, gray and mint—join three shades of white. Neenah Cotton, also manufactured in wove and smooth finishes, is a great fit for invitations, letterheads, envelopes and professional documents.
Versatility matters
by George paper via ArcherMalmo
Crafted in South Carolina by International Paper Company, by George is a new family of fairly smooth, cover weight only stocks perfect for a potpourri of applications.
Manufactured in 11 point and 18 point thicknesses, suggested uses include hang tags, table tents, invitations, book covers, menus and posters. There are seven colors in the by George family, ranging from bright white to deep black. Ideal for various finishing processes, by George can be embossed, foil stamped, die-cut and folded.
The right paper will do the trick —
Keep these stocks in mind for your upcoming design projects. Between the vast array of unusual new textures and finishes, along with the introduction of new colors to the marketplace, the design possibilities are endless.
Chances are good that paper samples and/or swatch books can be obtained from your print vendor, or from the above-mentioned paper mills. Check them out to find the perfect paper for your next print project.
