5. What piece of art are you still proud of to this day? (Show or describe)

Honestly, I'm still happy with most of my work from the past 1-2 years. There's a few older pieces but as a general note, the quality (imo) drops off if you go earlier than 2022 </3

7. Who are some artists that have inspired you?

For this I'm grabbing my dear friend Sphor (on tumblr, just don't want to ping them). While we have very different techniques, I know I specifically stole was inspired by their detail/texture lines, cream bg, and more muted colours. I could have sworn the brown lines were also from them but I guess not, no clue where I got those xD

8. How would you describe your art style?

Let's see, dunno if I can say much about shapes/proportions, but otherwise... Muted/warm colours, brown lines with hard pixel edges, usually abstract colours/shapes instead of backgrounds, and fairly low res square canvases (my standard is 1000px²).

This is less me knowing how my art looks and more just having a formula for certain things xD

7. Favorite animal? why?

Nibbles of course! No but in reality I think... this wouldn't have been something Vince ever put a lot of thought into actually. He has favorite cars, favorite tech brands, favorite films and games and all that, but he's not necessarily a very outdoors-y, nature-loving guy. I think the topic of "I want a pet" would've come up at some point when he was younger, but his parents didn't see this as a wish worthy of pursuit. Even though his family was well-off when he was a kid, a cat or dog as status symbol wasn't really a priority either, and so that remained unfulfilled. I think Vince would've always liked cats though due to their resilience (given the convo with Takemura on that topic during Gimme Danger), their sneakiness, elegance, their free will and attitude. All that applies to Nibbles in a way, too, she has been fending for herself on the street pretty well despite not really having a steady home, and I think in that aspect Vince can see some of his own struggles as a young adult reflected. So yeah, Nibbles XD And overall probably cats, cause they're the only animals really present in his world as he grew up.

12. how long have they been around? do you know their birthday? Is their birthday the day you made them or another day? what do they think of celebrating birthdays?

His in-universe birthday is the 10th of June (at least that's the one he celebrates and will give as reply if someone asks "when is your birthday?"). He's born in 2049, making him 27 going on 28 by the events of the game (although originally I had him a little bit older than that even, early 30s, but meanwhile I've built everything around him being born in 2049 though, so here we go xD).

His "real" birthday, as for, the day he was actually born on, is in September, but when he ran away from home, he aged himself up (with Viktor's help) a bit to gain a couple more freedoms. He doesn't really care for the date anymore.

And his "day when I made him" was the 27th November 2022 (at least that's my oldest savegame that I still have, within the Arasaka Tower lobby, so yeah). So he's turning 1 soon :D And I cannot believe what kind of a journey that last year has been and I'm getting all emotional thinking about it cause yeah.

He does like celebrating birthdays, and has grown to like celebrating them even more as soon as he wasn't living with his mother anymore. And I think the most important birthdays he's ever celebrated was his 28th, because with the Relic and all he wasn't sure if he'd survive long enough to get the chance to see it, and then his 30th, to stick it to Dex one final time and look back on one hell of a journey so far and looking forward to what's to come.

The party doesn't need to be huge or particularly extravagant (although it needs good music, good food, and getting dressed nicely cause what's the point otherwise?), and he makes sure that all the people he loves and cares about can attend.

13. what languages do they speak? how fluently?

He grew up bilingual with English and Japanese, although in the age of auto-translators his Japanese is getting a bit more rusty as time goes on. In the case of a complete and utter failure of his tech though he'd still be able to hold a normal conversation and understand his conversation parter(s). Since his parents had a corporate career in mind for him, he went to pretty prestigious schools and over the course of his school education learned a few other languages, but those were never super interesting to him (cause, y'know... auto-translators). He's retained some basic knowledge in French, Mandarin, and Russian, and with how multicultural of a city Night City is he also picked up a few phrases here and there that he understands without translator, but none of that is fluent speaking material.

27. If applicable, do they have a favorite sport? do they play any sports or prefer to watch?

I think in the furthest sense of the term "sport" that would probably be anything in the category motor sport XD Street racing, maybe even professional racing, but he's not deeply invested in any tournaments or rankings and that. He likes fast bikes and cars and is interested in them on a technical level, and that's how he got in contact with the street racing scene a little bit here and there in his early 20s, pre-Arasaka. He would've probably attended some races as a spectator during his time working for the corp, but couldn't have afforded participating... so Claire approaching him when she was looking for a driver was a little bit of a dream come true, even though her motives were in the end somewhat ulterior. I think, given the chance, he'd love to participate in more races like that again the future, for the rush of adrenaline!

Unorganized thoughts?

1. Felt quite on top of things during work tonight to make up for being lazy all week. Either that or hormones. Blaming period XP

2. Doodled during work felt good, too. I doodled another (human) Dratica head that made me realize that I need to practice drawing heads again. Tried to remember my proportions on the next doodle. Almost elongated the face again 😅 Lastly, doodled from a nicely rendered face of Cloud. Got the head/face shapes right, but the eyes = yikes? Could've done better on the eyes, ngl.

3. Made me feel nostalgic about how I used to draw from pictures on my PSP so often X3 (I miss it)

4. Summers this decade have been quite eventful.

2020 = COVID-19 Pandemic

2021 = Chris' gaming lovestreams + the start of my KH journey XD

2022 = online drawing sessions + shiny watercolors

2023 = successful summer plans >X) (+ Gensin)

7. So glad I'm not going to the beach tomorrow. It's usually an uncomfortable time bcuz of the heat, mosquitos, feeling worse about my belly in a bathing suit, the sand 🙃, ofteb awful timing bcuz of period, socializing XP, + not fond of going in the water (hydrophobic maybe?).

8. If DaArk's human name were to be Derrick, what would Dratica's human name be? 🤔 One time in Acting for Animators, one classmate thought he'd look like a "Blake." Dumbfounded, + yet, it's been lingering in my head since.

12. I pretend to be a viewer reading this. I ask myself, "Is this interesting?" Sometimes. Like a pen that writes, but then skips or like a light bulb burning bright but dims, flickers, or glows again.

13. I'm feeling more conscious about the top of my back + the back of my neck. Conscious of how I recline, how I lay in bed (side sleeper, i am), slouching, + bending over to doodle (to the point my whole face is up close to the paper 🙂).

14. Ew. My mind's imagining how much heavy breathing I've done while I painted. *thinks back to the last one I made* 😐 Thank goodness I did not get covid! (Maybe I did but didn't know).

15. Quite the physical toll on me this year. From January to March, I went to the gym. But wasn't feeling it + would feel quite sickly (like sneezing, constant runny nose, + got stomach flu for the 1st time?). From late March to early June, sitting on my butt for 2 months straight, doing two two-minute animations for a semester. It was such a wise decision to leave my main day job bcuz that was a lot of work for those animations. Noticed gray hairs for my bday. (I'm a 29yo lady!) Got super lazy after the semester until late June. Went back to kickboxing. July was a better productive month. Currently, August, where my period's sucking up my energy. Nah, I'm just being lazy again?

It's 11:48 pm + I can feel myself drifting off to sleep. Imma end it here. If they're going to the beach + the weather is favorable, then I can go out to the backyard to do something.

It's drarry, rated E, currently sitting at 54k with two more chapters to go. It's a Canon Divergence (or rather Detour, you'll see) from the events of Book 7 with Harry and Draco being stranded together after the escape from Malfoy Manor.

Your drarry fic series 'Arthur and the Lust Leaks' is seriously one of my all time favourites, they're just so hilarious! I love the dynamic between Daphne and Draco, Arthur (of course!🐣) and the general concept is just wonderful on its own XD

The concept of magic folk getting "Lust Leaks" when they're extremely horny is actually GENIUS!! Like what, how on earth did you come up with such a clever idea!?!?

My question is how would you feel about others using the concept? So long as you're credited for the inspiration, of course!

How I came up with the Lust Leaks. When I joined the DTH fest, I'd only published one drarry fic that I'd written non-stop and obsessively over a few weeks; a fic which had poured out of me in a torrent. With The Full Monty I was more deliberate. I had a prompt, which gave me a direction to follow, but I wanted to do more. Now, my favourite author is Astolat and one of the things I love about her work is that she always has some cool magical element in her stories. I'm a fantasy author at heart, and her inventiveness and worldbuilding truly resonates with me. So, with this new drarry fic of mine, I wanted to create a magical element that would be new and interesting and would fit with canon.

I thought of developmental stages for children. How magical kids' magic appears when they're young. I can't remember the exact age it's supposed to happen, but in my mind it was linked to the stage where kids develop ego (around age three) (ego meaning the psychological theory, not selfishness). And then I thought what's another big stage of development (adolescence, lots of hormones) and what happens then? (sexual maturity). And what if, during that tumultuous time of their life, their magic goes haywire too?

I can't remember if I came up with the concept first and used it in the story or if I came up with something embarrassing happening to Draco and decided to dig into that idea and develop it. Either way, it went: idolise astolat-> magic appears when toddlers turn into children -> adolescents have raging hormones and this could affect their magic-> lust leaks when horny.

I wanted to write more in that 'verse myself. Back in spring 2017, I'd started writing a Lust Leaks Hogwarts-era fic inspired by a throwaway line in the fic about Blaise and how everything he touched grew wings and flew. I also began a sequel of the Full Monty with the title Saving Arthur. But I had a few big fests coming up and a birthday fic to write, and they got abandoned.

Finally, to answer your question: If you wish to use the concept in your fanfiction, then I'd be happy for you to do so. The credit would be much appreciated, and perhaps even a link to Full Monty for anyone curious to see the origin? That'd be brilliant.

However, this is only for fanfiction. If you're interested in using the concept for original fiction or any kind of work commercially available, then my answer is no. But I'm assuming you want to write drarry/ HP fic :)

Ten years of passion and enthusiasm and love for drarry and the HP world; ten years of spreading joy to other fans; ten years of astounding writing (gods, I envy her so!); ten years of invaluable contributions to the community.

Lqt, the fandom is blessed to have you as a member and I feel honoured to call myself your friend. I thank my lucky stars I joined drarry when I did and got to meet you 💖

Here's a few things you should know about Lqt:

1. She's a phenomenal writer. No, I don't use this word lightly. If you haven't yet sampled her work, you're missing out. If I were you, I'd rectify this asap. Lqt's craft is a masterclass of its own: strong sentences, beautiful prose, thoughtful characterisations, scorching sex scenes, lots and lots of feels. Her writing sizzles. She's so quotable too. I can't think of another writer who has such a strong gift to write lines that the whole fandom imprints on and can remember years later. For instance: "I've fucked you in that shirt." I'm still losing my fkn mind over this line. Mention Blood and Fire, one of Lqt's masterpieces, to a reader and they'll immediately go "omg I've fucked you in that shirt!!!!!!"

2. She's a supporter of queer and trans rights in true Gryffindor spirit. Passionate and tireless, Lqt actively tries to make fandom a more inclusive, safe and welcoming space for everyone. She's an example to emulate.

3. She's a fierce, generous friend. I don't know what I've done to deserve her, but her generosity and kindness and support seem never ending. She's been there for me, esp during a tough period last year, and has listened to me vent when I felt like getting things off my chest; she's given me advice when I asked for it; and has been a relentless cheerleader when I needed a boost. She's the kind of friend who reads my fics even when they're in fandoms she's not familiar with. She might know nothing about wangxian but she will read my fics and she will comment with some lovely praise, and--I don't know if I ever told you, @lqtraintracks, but that floors me every single time. That you read and comment on my wangxian/hualian/non-HP fics. I'm a bit choked up about it, ngl

My first LQT fic was Entropy to Ecstasy (drarry/ 4k/ E), a stellar example of second person POV and, er, rimming. Is this the most delicious combination or what? The longing in this fic is tangible; the UST through the roof. I adored it and still do; what a marvellous introduction to a great writer.

My latest LQT fic was Heart Like Neon (drarry/ 41k/ E) and it was one of the highlights of 2021. It's got enemies to lovers and hate sex and UST to-die-for but also excellent new magic (the Reaching! how amazing and such a Harry magic!), a large cast handled deftly, and a fantastic relationship progression. And again: so many wonderful quotes! "Being good… it’s not just one choice. It’s a thousand different choices. And that’s just one day." How do you do it, LQT????

But the fic that has carved itself in my heart is Blood and Fire (drarry/ 45k/ E). (The banner above is a realistic depiction of the state of my mind and body while reading the fic.) It's a story of second chances; of regret and mistakes; of making amends; of forgiveness. It's got agonising pining and excruciating longing; palpable tension and hot hot hot hot sex. It includes the most emotional hug of all times. It's a fic that makes me feel like "a bundle of kindling who invited fire over for dinner". (see what I told you about the quotes? She's fkn killing it!) It's a drarry classic (yes, I went there) and it's a fic that I will never, ever forget. For me, this story is up there with Donna Tartt and CS Pacat.

LQT, happy anniversary!!! May you enjoy another 10, 20, or more years in fandom! I'm so happy to know you 💖

So, uh, meeting my boss’s wife got me thinking back to my old manager. Both found veganism like the light in the dark, religious-like. That got me thinking about the vocal vegans I came across in my life and there seems to be a common thread between them that always rubbed me wrong. 

The issue I have with some  militant vegans is that they rarely consider the environmental cost of a 100% plant-based diet. Very often, abstaining from eating meat/diary is understood as this amazing thing one can do for their environment and the planet in general, and some such.... because plants imported from halfway across the world can fill dietary holes left by animal-based protein and lack of variety it poses - avocado, bananas, chia and quinoa, citrus and so on. All easily available.

In general, being vegan is not in any way anymore environmentally friendly than not-being one (vegan leather, etc). A vegan milkshake form nestle is in no way 'friendlier' to the nature than the milkshake standing next to it. Same with vegan cheese. Vegan burgers. Nut milks. Every 'vegan' product pumped out by a company halfway-across the world.

It's a moral choice and should be recognised and respected as such. The only genuinely environmentally-friendly diet is local - and thus limited to seasonality of greens and fruit. It's a diet that usually contains meat by the sheer force of the lack of options.

And modern humans hate not having options. The ideal weekly menu serves something else every couple days at least. The ideal diet is ‘varied’ and ‘full’ and ‘providing all vitamins and micro-elements we need’ and that means all the vegetables and fruit all the time. We are convinced that we need everything and get used to having everything available at all times, fresh and clean and beautiful. It’s hard to give it up.

My #1 post of 2022

Started feeling towards Ranni recently.

How lonely she is. How her family fell apart and now all she has is her scheming and 3 companions. Out of which she knows one has no loyalty. How she knows that her protector will stand against her and how inevitable it is - she knows the end of her plan will result in losing Blaidd, the one person left to her.

How both of her brothers and mother fell to madness and how her own mission sometimes seems just as mad. How she wants revenge on those responsible, but those turn out to be further from her grasp than Queen Marika.

How did she feel discovering that her family was destroyed as a collateral of someone else's bid for freedom? That all the misery that befell them turned out unimportant? That her father is the key to revenge - a puppet in the hands of Others.

What sort of anger carried her through the ages on her impossible mission?

I’ve talked before about England being possessive and I do think that’s true... but I do imagine, that after hearing all his life about England’s romantic and sexual relationships with so many others all the while he himself was pining desperately, America is prone to intense fits of jealousy as well.

okay. whether usuk or ukus, America being tsundere/respectfully trying to hold himself back, trying to get England’s attention, trying to show he’s romantic partner material and being hopelessly, utterly desperate about it, sanity fraying at the edges because he just wants England so bad, and he’s always about two seconds from slamming England against the wall like “notice me, damn it!!!!” is choice. That’s good shit. One of my favorite dynamics for them.

Better still if England is rather oblivious to it... until America finally cracks.

I’ve said this like a billion times but sometimes I just think about little feral child England... no one to care for him, having to do everything for himself and constantly fight for his life... and just never wanted America to have to go through such hardships and then, from his point of view, that upstart brat throws it all back in his face when all he wanted was to give America what he never had and of course that would make him angry, break his heart... even if he wasn't listening and what America really wanted/needed was independence. So, America will never fully understand how hard it was for England to be so small and alone in a hostile world, just like England will never really understand why America would reject his care and protection when he wishes he'd had it when he was young and I think about that and my brain goes wibbly and I stop making any sense and write run-on sentences and I just...

In total? Over 100, but 93 of those are from October challenges, so I don’t think those count xD 

Full lenght, or multi chap ones; 25

What is your total word count for the year?

1.3 Million 

What fandoms did you write in this year?

One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Harry Potter, MCU, Teen Wolf - I think those are the main ones.

Did you write more, less, or roughly about what you expected?

More, a lot more. I kept getting attacked by my muse and couldn’t just leave well enough alone.

But I enjoyed every moment of it, and am very rpoud of the things I did pyblush this year.

What’s your favorite story of the year?

I can’t believe this is how I fell in love

It’s a sugar daddy/suger baby MarAce fic that just popped up and wouldn’t let me go. I loved writing it, and going from reviews people loved reading it too. 

What is your most underappreciated story of the year?

I don’t know to be honest, I think I’m doing rather well overall. I think my stats are amazing, so I don’t think I have one really.

Biggest fanfic-related disappointment of 2021?

Spelling mistakes, I have this annoying habit of reading over my own mistakes and as such don’t always notice that I left glaring errors in my fics.

People are pointing them out to me, and I go and correct them. I also have someone who is looking over the fics for me, even if I don’t know if I need a beta-reader per se (I just need someone who points them all out).

Biggest fanfic-related surprise of 2021?

The amount of writing I got in, and the suprising easy way I could get them in.

Not to brag or anything, but if I put my mind to it I could get a chapter finished in about an hour. Given that I write at least 2 hours idea, it isn’t that much of a surprise that I can hit 2.5K words a day, on avarage.

Something you look forward to working on in 2022?

My prompts, I want to explore more about what I can do. With they way there are so many prompts lists out there, as well as the option of readers to send some ine I feel like I’ll accomplish a lot this year!

ok for the ship game: well because it’s u we have to start with ladrien

XD well. obviously I ship it. As you know I'm working on another Ladrien oneshot as we speak.

What made you ship it? - I mean I never didn't ship them, because from the beginning of watching the show I shipped the love square and...obviously they're part of that. And actually, when I first watched the show I think ladrien was my favourite side because they were so smitten and blushy and akjsfbkjd. Then I started reading fic and my opinion on which side I liked best went back and forth for a while. I didn't start getting like...obsessed with ladrien the way I am now until maybe 7-8 months ago? And @ck2k18 gets most of the credit for convincing me of that. I also just...really vibed with the 2022 ladrien june prompt list. None of the other love square prompt months last year really had much I resonated with. So in May I started writing a lot of ladrien...and iInever stopped 😂

What are your favorite things about the ship? - SKJDBFKBSDJ you know, I don't know? There's so much I could say. It's the whole I love you I would die for you but I can't tell you how well I know you thing. It's the understanding each other thing. The commiserating about having so much pressure on them thing. There are too many things. And then there are the vibes, and the vibes are immaculate. Yeah, maybe it just comes down to the vibes.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? - Hmm...I don't think so?

36: Tell us something about your OC that doesn't make it onto the page.

At times, Ben is mildly haunted by the question of if he might be Basil's dad.

Basil's parents were Spooks. Ben used to be a Spook. He's ace and uninterested, so he's not exactly hopping merrily from bed to bed, but he has slept with people for various reasons in the past, and he's also gotten his memory redacted a time or two, for Spook-related reasons. He could have slept with a lady Spook in one of those periods of time he can't remember now, at about the right time for her to have Basil later. He occasionally wonders, and then firmly pushes the thought away again. He's not set up to parent anyone, and he feels like he'd have to say something if he ever found out for sure.

Meanwhile Basil also wondered as soon as he met Ben at like thirteen, immediately went about sneaking a DNA sample to do the requisite testing, found out Ben's definitely not his dad, and moved on with his life. It never occurred to him to mention it; it's not like Ben wouldn't know for sure, right?

Weirdly Specific Asks 5. favorite form of potato?

Tossup between mashed potatoes and hash browns. Mashed potatoes are easier to attain at home, but I cannot pass up hash browns when they are available when I'm out and about.

22. do you have an emotional support water bottle?

I'm not exactly sure what this would be. I have one water bottle that is almost perfect for my needs (easy to clean, doesn't leak, and is a pleasing, translucent green-blue). The only issue with it at the moment is that it is difficult to use in situations when I'm wearing a mask.

26. how’s your spice tolerance?

I like things more on the mild to medium (depending on the scale). I don't like it when it is spicy for spicy sake. There's gotta be some good flavor going on.

hey, what's the etiquette when it comes to commenting on old livejournal posts?

there's this fic I love that's about 13 years old, and the community it's in hasn't had any new posts in over a decade...is it still cool if I go comment on that fic?

I know with ao3 and ff.n it's always good to comment on fic of any age, but I haven't been active on LJ in a while, and I don't remember what the general rule is on there re: commenting.

hey, question about your tags on the braille post: wouldn't you have to get braille books to do that? why didn't that tip your mom off that you were reading at night

oh! I got them from the library, which was close enough geographically that I could go there by myself, and my mom didn't really notice what books I was checking out.

(and don't worry, I only checked out the ones that didn't have a wait list for them. I think I probably confused some librarians, though.)

For some reason, ever since I became a Streber Kinnie, the Universe started hating my left hand and arm.

1) I had a chronic ache in my left arm a whole day.

2) My Hand has been getting cut and bruised lately out of nowhere.

3) I just tried to pet my Cat and she flipping mauled my left hand.
