A censored version of Nu: Carnival is coming to the app store... Which is not good

When this was first brought to my attention, I honestly didn't believe it at first. I mean, why would I? Nu: Carnival has advertised itself as an adult-only game since it's release. I rarely go on Twitter since it's a total shithole, but that's how I found out that the rumors were true. Nu: Carnival - Bliss, they're calling it. The overall plot, events, and gameplay will be the same. But many crucial changes will be done to the dialogue, CG, and audio. Long post ahead, but I'll be ranting about it below

Why is this a bad move?

There are multiple reasons as to why making a censored, teen friendly version of Nu: Carnival is a horrible decision. I might not get them all, but here are a few I can think of off the top of my head:

It is literally impossible to separate the nsfw from the source. Whether the devs like it or not, they made an nsfw game. After the first half of the prologue, the game opens with porn. You are introduced to two characters at the time — Aster and Morvay. That right there is already an issue. Morvay is an incubus. He is a sex demon who wears leather lingerie. While there is certainly more to his personality, his is very existence is sex. Sex is what keeps him alive and fed. Morvay is very open about his sexual desires and the topic of sex as a whole. He doesn't find it shameful or taboo. So... What are they going to do with Morvay? He can't be removed since he's bonded with Aster. Censoring him will have him take a MAJOR hit. Now that leads me to the second part of this bullet point: sex is a crucial part of the plot. Essence is what keeps Klein stable. Eiden and his clan's job is to use their essence to fix the gem altars so said altars can keep the essence regulated throughout the continent. While there are several ways to replenish one's essence, the most effective way is through sex. Sex also plays a crucial role in expanding on the plot and the characters. Sex scenes aren't just there for entertainment, there is genuine lore within the dialogue. Through sex, Eiden bonds with his clan members in the most intimate and personal ways. He sees his clan members at their most vulnerable moments, and through that they share a deep connection. You can see when sex scenes go from Eiden and whoever the clan member is having sex just to have it to having sex because they genuinely care for each other and want to physically bond. I could delve deeper into this topic, but I'm sure you all understand by now what I'm trying to say. Sex is not just an accessory or perk. It's part of the worldbuilding

Minors will not be able to escape nsfw within the fandom. Since the game's release, the fan base has been entirely made up of adults. Since we are all adults, we freely talk and post about the nsfw parts of the game. You go on any social media platform where Nu: Carnival is discussed, and you will see nsfw. It's a very casual topic in the fandom, and in a way it's something that bonds us together… As weird as that may sound. My point is, making a censored version of the game is pointless, because the source itself in inherently nsfw and the fan base is full of adults making nsfw content which is usually uncensored since the artists expect for anyone in the fandom to only be adults

Minors in fandoms often bring drama... Hear me out on this one. Not to sound like one of those "grr minors dni I hate minors" people, but kids in fandoms often bring drama and discourse. As aggravating at it is, I have to admit that it isn't entirely their fault. When you're in your early teens, you're starting to discover yourself. You become very opinionated and defensive over your beliefs because you're trying to figure out who you are and where you stand in life. You're trying to gain independence and autonomy. It's normal... But it's very draining. Since Nu: Carnival has an all-adult fandom, there isn't a lot of drama at all. Sure, you're going to have stupid people saying stupid shit to start drama, that happens everywhere, but those people are typically ignored because it isn't too common. With kids coming into the fandom and starting unnecessary drama, it'll be so much harder to avoid. Not only that, but kids don't have as much media literacy as adults do. It's not an insult, but simply a fact. Nu: Carnival delves in a LOT of heavy themes in the game. Some of which are stated outright while others require you to read in between the lines to pick up on them. Since the fandom is all adults, it's easier for us to handle these topics and discuss them maturely

Why are the devs doing this?

My guess? Money. The devs are part of a company after all. At the end of the day, all companies want to make money. By making a game they can put on app stores, the game becomes more visible to a broader audience. People who have never heard of Nu: Carnival before will see what appears to be an innocent anime game when it's far from that. All it will take is a simple google search for people to see the the game is very much nsfw and not something minors should indulge themselves in. It's dangerous for both parties involved, both the minors and the adults

It has always been said in political circles that SJW leftists are the most vicious nasty close-minded hateful people who accuse you of what they themselves are capable of. If you react to their antics with any other than a perpetual thousand-yard stare, then you get accused of being a 'potential right-wing domestic terrorist', even though incidents of right-wing shit-stirring are almost non-existent. Even when conservatives protest, they are less likely to leave behind piles of trash and property damage.

We're fighting a war that only the left is allowed to participate in. Everyone else has to stand around passively and endure whatever violence and browbeating they choose to hand out. Any pushback gets you labeled a violent bigoted Nazi (again, them accusing you of being what they are). In my personal experience -maybe it's just me- women are more likely to harass you in the workplace. They are the ones making the snide comments or engaging in outright bullying. I've only ever been sexually harassed by other women. It's true I have a workplace stalker, but he has never ever made an inappropriate comment to me sexual in nature. None of them have touched me, but a few have gone into graphic detail about their sex lives or made lewd jokes, all the while giving me knowing looks expecting some sort of reaction. I'd stare at them deadpan like....I can't even guess what I'm supposed to say about this.

That pretty much sums up the leftwing experience. You can't even guess how to react because they believe that both morality and reality are fluid -the way they perceive gender- so there's no reliable sense of right and wrong or justice and fairness or concrete reality. We're held hostage by the whims of the Narcissistic dominant culture made up of emotionally driven toddlers who might say they are 3/4 male and 1/4 female on any given day.

In that context, it makes perfect sense to make a mockery of how Hamas murdered some random people at a music festival who were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Republic Records has wanted Lauren since 5H went on hiatus. I've known that for a while now.

Now, we know that the industry is a treacherous shithole that will always seek to screw artists, but the key here is knowing how to play their game.

That means, seek the greatest benefits from a contract knowing that they do too.

I can't say what Lauren will do. It is possible that she signs with a mainstream, it is possible. They have the money that Lauren would need to get her music out, but the point here is that she can get a deal where she doesn't have to owe the record company as much and keeps all the liberties that she can keep and that is if she gets to have a good legal team backing her up. Not only a good manager, but also a good lawyer and a good accountant.

There are three people who make up the triad of an artist. The manager, the musical lawyer and the accountant, the person who can handle the numbers of all the earnings of an artist. If Lauren has that on her side, she'll be on the right track, because if what happened with Taylor Swift and her music helped, it's that now artists have more options regardless of the label they sign with.

Now the big question is what does Lauren want? And that question only Lauren herself could answer it.

And about what happened with Hailee, I think it has been resolved because she released music again and hasn't changed record companies.

In regards to fandom behaviour: Volbeat.

I'm utterly disappointed and disgusted with how a lot of the fandom (I suspect newer, younger fans are the bulk of this group) have acted towards Volbeat, you're not cute or special being disrespectful towards them, and with news they've had to pull out of the next show due to covid, you lot have become next level disgusting, hoping they'll pull out of more shows 'because I only care about Ghost!'

Look I'm not a fan of multi line up shows, but that's because I'm disabled and can't handling being up and active in a concert for hours and hours (I've done it once, I sat underneath a bench while the main act played bc my chronic pain killed me).

You are showing this fandom in a bad light, you are acting like fucking kpop stans with the lack of manners and respect.

I'm not asking you to become Volbeat's no. 1 fan, I am just saying you need to stop with the mocking, as it will effect the two band's relationship with each other.

You do realise the only reason we have a Ghost tour is because the two bands put their finances together? Do you honestly think you would've gotten a solo Ghost tour? Ghost is an Expensive band to tour with all the set pieces and gear, I 100% believe they teamed up with Volbeat to off set venue costs during year 3 of a fucking pandemic.

Also the ageism, who the fuck cares if Volbeat has an older audience, it's not cute to make fun of older people enjoying things? Ghost is a band of people all ages, and let me break your ageist hearts, Aether is in his 40s, are you gonna mock and bully him for being cringe too since he plays around on stage? You do realize that none of the ghouls, apart from Rain, are young right?

What may be the worst part is that if a Volbeat fan turned around and said we were cringe, I know the exact same people would be yelling and crying on twitter about how mean Volbeat fans are.

I just want to say for the show, if it does turn out not all Prequelle ghouls return, DO NOT go onto their social media and get angry at them, to not go there a guilt bait with “aw I’m gonna miss you!”

Hired musicians move on all the time. They have a right too and with covid, they have every right to do what is right for their health, psychical or mental.

Also, if there is any new ghouls, you DO NOT go on their social media and yell at them for “replacing” your favorite, they did nothing wrong.

You know what I love right now? the idea Copia is OBSESSED with being better than Papa 3

Imagine it, as a lowly cardinal helping Nihil he watches Terzo, he's confident, flirty, charming, handsome, everyone gets along with him, Nihil doesn't hate him. The siblings of sin swoon over him and his 'stupid' jawline (as Copia calls it).

Copia has had to watch this, while he's had to work his way to the top, and what did that even get him? Nihil hates his guts, sure Sister likes him, maybe even a little too much, but many in the Clergy sees that as a negative.

But then, Sister informs him, "it's your turn Copia". It's not an easy road, this hasn't been done before, many object, including Nihil, many are shocked, shocked that the Papas are dead, and even more shocked that Copia is now in charge, they would rebel, but if Sister says it's ok, then what choice do they have?

He finally becomes Papa, over time people grew used to him being in charge, maybe some liked it, in some ways the old Papas become a memory.

But soon it's not enough, he still sees that awkward cardinal in the mirror, he wants more, he wants to be the handsome papa, the one that swoons the clergy, the one that his flock dreams about at night, he wants to be obsessed over.

A little self care is in order, suddenly that once stupid jawline isn't such a bad look, it just had to be on the right person.

He changes his skull paint, get rid of the rat bone nose, no more rat boy, soon it becomes cleaner, almost like his, but it's not, he swears he wasn't inspired at all by him.

Don't dare mention him.

He needs more attire, we wants to look his best at all times, too look confident and sexy. He has intricate suits made, gold lining, flowing fabrics, it suits a man as powerful and attractive as him. His clergy notices how the once awkward rat man walks, with power and weight in his steps. They begin to adore him, or fear him, he can't tell the difference anymore.

As long he is all they think about when they think about Papa.

As a MacRiley stan I have never felt welcomed into the MacGyver fandom and I never will. We’re always blamed for things yet, the other sides of the fandom can hate on Tristin for no reason at all and that’s somehow the MacRiley fandom fault. And when this happens no one even says anything.

I literally don't know what to tell you. The MacRiley fans make up the biggest subset of the fandom. Every other group is in the minority (usually by a lot). If you don't feel welcomed, that sounds like a problem within your own community, not a fandom issue. Twitter is a toxic shithole and should not be counted, but the fandom community here on this (surprisingly less hostile) hellsite is very kind and welcoming, so long as you don't encroach on people's space or try to force your opinions on others.

Likewise, people spewing hate is a phenomenon of the Twitter fandom (if it still happens on tumblr we've all blocked those people and they're just screaming to themselves at this point). "MacRiley stans" are the most visible part of the fandom, so when y'all pull bullshit we all see it (or at least hear about it), which is why you take the brunt of the blame for issues. You're just louder than everyone else.

Also, there is a distinct trend among the group you identify with to justify your own shitty behavior by saying other people do it too. Y'all need to knock that shit off. It's not a good look.

I can't fix Twitter culture for you, anon. Idk just encourage people to be kind to each other. Fix yourselves and other people will hopefully follow suit.

For those who can't be arsed to read a long-winded explanation, I will be deactivating my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts on New Year's Eve.

I am letting you know, so you don't think I committed the cardinal sin and unholiest of all unholies by "de-friending" you. I may be back online at some point, but probably not for a while. I believe my connections will still be intact if I do decide to return; if sense prevails and these platforms are finally subjected to proper policing for the spread of lies and ever-more obscene ways to serve quinoa and avocado in a bowl fashioned out of frozen puppy puke.

I have also decided to make it a top priority to quit the UK in 2020. So, I bid you adieu here and now, in case our connections were solely on social media. It's been a blast!

No, it hasn't!

Over the last decade, it has become apparent that social media has been the leading cause of human decay, planetary annihilation and the spread of a pathogen more destructive than the most apocalyptic virus know to man: stupidity, spread through misinformation and vanity. If you think this is an extreme, over-exaggeration of where we are today, please try harder and look again.

Bullshit spread about immigrants, sexualities not openly accepted in a book about a bearded dude in a dress (who insisted on going by his über-hetero drag name of "The Fisher of Men" and has been the poster-pup of plenty-o-paedo priests over the centuries), climate change and the dim-witted cry of "sovrinteeeee" has been swallowed willingly by the idiocracy. A bitter pill that will serve as a cyanide tablet for those that have been so willing to lap it up.

The world has lurched so far to the right through populism and bitter resentment of difference, that staying on these platforms would be hypocritical, as I denounce their existence.

The UK, soon to be remembered as the Kingdom formerly known as United, has sunk so low in a mire of blind, extreme conservativism, hatred and racism that it has, in an extraordinarily short time, become unrecognisable. The decision to leave our home has not been taken lightly, and I have been fighting as valiantly as possible to slap those of a more-persuadable disposition to realise how our country was being attacked by the wealthy, corrupt zealots we see in power today: grotesquely vile puppet-masters and their extraordinarily cretinous, backward, self-serving puppets.

I'm reasonably certain the referendum and subsequent elections were stolen from the sane, using vast swathes of illegality; so, don't let all the blame fall at the feet of those unwilling to believe such politics could play out; with their staunch, once-centrist political leanings. But they have, and I trust the pain of realisation in the coming years will serve as a lesson to pass on to their children (the lesson all those history classes should have taught them, back when what brand of anti-acne wash to use before their first snog was the largest of their troubles).

I am saying goodbye, because I have made a concerted effort to utilise the better aspects of social media; to inform, create, entertain or just vent my spleen. I have cemented some firm eFriendships along the way and used it to good effect, in order to remember people's names after meeting them at the pub. Next time you see me scribbling something unintelligible on the back of my hand with an old fashioned thing we used to call a pen, you'll know why.

The harder aspect of relocating will, besides finding a job to enable this expatriation, of course, be the distance to the elder younglings. But, with the reactions of "wha'evah", "cool...foreign holidays!" and "once I'm done at uni, I'm joining you and leaving this Nazi shithole!" have helped somewhat. Their reaction to me leaving Facebook was an impertinent, but expected, united sigh of relief, to say the least. I don't expect any move to be in the next six months, but hope it will be within twelve; as I can't handle another year of Katie Hopkins threatening to suck-off Nigel's Fromage if he plays a game of soggy biscuit with Jacob Greased-Hog and Piers Organ over a blue passport.

So, without further ado, I tip the cap that I uselessly use to cover my balding pate, try to do a click of the heels, fuck it up and fall arse-over-tit and embrace you all in a weird and clumsy virtual way, as I set the timer for the deactivation to T-minus 31st December 2019.

It actually has been a blast, and I love you all.
