What made you ship Scotta with Gil?

I can’t pinpoint the exact moment I began shipping them, because I’m not typically into the opposites attract trope, which is exactly what Gilotta is. To be honest, I originally shipped her with Jay.

But to actually answer you’re question, I think it’s the way they balance each other out while still being similar enough that they could easily get along. Gil can be overly kind and naive, and seemingly let’s people walk over him a lot, while Scotta can be overly blunt and cynical, and is kind of lacking in genuine ally’s and friends because of this. Gil could help Scotta learn to let go a little, teach her that not everything is political, while Scotta could help Gil stand up for himself more and perhaps be more confident in his own abilities.

They could also bond over a particular fondness for exercise - as they’re both at the very least body builders - and some childhood angst from not-so-ideal parenting. What’s more, I feel like they would also share a strong sense of justice, even if they don’t always express it in the best ways.

Scotta stands at 4”9.5

The legal height to be diagnosed with dwarfism is 4”10 or shorter.

Scotta’s dwarfism is caused by a medical disorder known as Turners Syndrome. Her limbs are still in proportion with her torso and head, but this does not discredit her as a little person.

This isn’t a diagnosis I chose to give Scotta because it would be ’interesting’ or ’quirky’, it came from how the character naturally developed her as I was writing, and has been a part of her character since before I ever roleplayed with her on Tumblr.

With October being Dwarfism Awareness Month, I wanted to make a post about this. Not to show off how ’accepting’ I am, but due to a quote from Peter Dinklage - “Dwarves are still the butt of jokes. It’s one of the last bastions of acceptable prejudice.”

I’m not a little person, nor do I know any personally, so maybe I’m the last person who should be addressing this, but it is an issue and it needs to be addressed by somebody. It’s something that we see often, especially in films and on TV, but never really notice.

That needs to stop.

I’m not involved with any charities, so I’m not here asking for money or donations, all I’m asking for is a voice. And what better voice than the Descendants fandom? A fandom for a series based around the descendants of famous Disney characters, including the 7 dwarves. Of whom we’ve only met one, who certainly isn’t a dwarf. What’s more, there are two major characters who, as far as I’m aware, have been described specifically as being short (although I doubt short enough to be considered little people), those being Uma and Mal.

I know that posting on Tumblr isn’t exactly the best way to help - it’s like liking a picture on Facebook to try and cure a child’s cancer. It just doesn’t work. I hardly have the largest following either, but if I can get the word out in some way, and that word spreads, then maybe we can do something.

That’s all I’m asking. Spread the word, and spread awareness.

This is going to sound weird,but Scotta reminds me a lot of Adelaide Kane's portrayal of Mary,Queen of Scots in the TV show Reign from CW

I’ve actually never seen that! The snake is actually an animal I’ve kind of associated with Scotta before (you’ll see why soon ;) ), but that’s a super interesting interpretation!

Ambition I definitely get, but I’m wondering where you got the idea of rebirth from? It’s not incorrect - there are definitely connotations of such that have seemingly slipped through without my noticing - but I’m simply curious if there’s any one thing that made you think of that trait in particular?
