so this story also has me in a chokehold now along with my gareth emerson one. i have major plans. this is going to serve as my foray into writing the actual canon events -as close as I can, maybe with changes as needed. This came to me almost the second I hit post on the first part so I figured that since I was up and it was on my mind I might as well get it out.

You guys have seriously blown me away because I never post anything with any intent beyond getting it out of my head, so all the comments/likes/reblogs/reblogs with tags are just ahhhhh.. I'm so blown away every single time because it means the world to me.

Reader is the same age as Steve. Both are 18+ here. Reader has her own place / is independent from her family, thus making this also a found family fic eventually (ie, the gang adopts her, haha). – later that night

“Carol and Nicole are still bitchy, I see.” you muse as Robin laughs and shrugs. “Mhm. They still think they run Hawkins too.” and you laugh about that. “Yeah, I got that vibe from Carol earlier. They were saying shit about Steve working in Scoops Ahoy, I think? Then they noticed me and started that whole fake nice thing they’re soooo good at.” you turn into the parking lot behind the bar and pull into the parking space with a big yellow 02 spraypainted in between the lines. 

Robin’s gazing at the building hesitantly. You giggle softly. “Look, I know it looks sketchy but.. The guy who owns the bar actually gave me a huge deal? Especially when I told him I’d do most of the legwork in painting and stuff in my unit. He takes off like, ten or fifteen percent of the rent? And he didn’t ask too many questions when I came in to look at the place, so.. I’m not complaining, honestly.” you take a drag of your cigarette and thump it out of your window, stepping on it when you get out of your car, crushing it beneath your shoe. You shut the car door with your hip and Robin shuts the door on her side. “Aren’t you gonna lock the car?” she asks.

You palm your face and double back, opening the door and locking it, then reaching across to do the same with her door. She’s lingering close, shuffling her sneakers against the pavement. You catch up to her and the two of you make your way up the back stairwell quickly. Not quite quick enough, as you happen to come in on the tail end of a fight that spills over into the little hallway, one of the bikers who frequents the bar settling in a drunken heap at your feet. You smush yourself against the wall and Robin does the same and the two of you make a break for it.

“Is it always like this?” Robin asks as you turn the corner and start up the second flight of stairs that it takes to get to your apartment. She spots the bright red door from the top of the stairwell and smirks, nodding to it. “Your door, I’m guessing?”

You laugh and nod. “Gus, he’s the owner. Said he’s gonna let everybody paint the  door whatever color they want. Gonna let ‘em do their own thing because he can’t be bothered to hire anyone.”

“And that one contractor in town only takes on high paying jobs. Apparently, he’s the one who put in Steve’s pool. I know because he came in and asked Steve how the heated pool was.” she’s telling you all about it as you unlock your door. Robin steps in behind you and her eyes are darting around as she grins. “Yeah, this is definitely your apartment.”

“Oh yeah?” you purr as you reach down and slip a finger down into the back of the heel you’re wearing, lifting your foot to let it settle on the floor. You take off the other heel and flex your toes, glaring at the shoes. “I am.. Not entirely sure those were the best purchases I’ve ever made.”

Robin’s snickering because you’ve got Richie Sambora front and center on the wall over your second hand couch. “Richie? Of all the men you could’ve put here, you have Richie Sambora?”

“Look at him!” you gesture at the framed print. Robin laughs when she turns and finds herself faced with a piece of leopard print cloth you’d gotten from the general store downtown and tacked up as a curtain to separate your bedroom and bathroom from the front of the apartment and the clear beads tacked over the top of it.

“Oh that. That’s where the magic doesn’t happen. Yet.” you laugh and wave a hand at the area dismissively as you start to take out the groceries you’d stopped to get on the way back from picking up Robin in preparation for the weekend ahead of you both.

“Wow, since when do you cook?”

“Robbie, c’mon.. Since we were eleven, at least. Remember?” “I remember a lot of visits from Hawkins Fire.” Robin retorts, making you pout. “Yeah?” you poke out your tongue, “Well, I got into it, it’s actually kinda relaxing. Still set shit on fire though, bite me.” you pout a little as you admit it to her.

“I thought so.”

“Hafuckingha, Robbie.”

“You’re painting a wall red?”

You glance over at Robin as she peeks into your bedroom and bathroom. You laugh and nod. “Mhm. I found some of that peel and stick leopard print drawer liner, that’s gonna go up too.” you drag a hand through your hair, “Unless I buy a huge frame and frame it.”

“Woman, what the hell?” Robin gestures to the chair sitting at your crowded vanity that’s loaded down with clothes. You laugh. “Gotta fix the hanging rod in the closet, apparently, it was not equipped or prepared for my clothes. I uh..Err.. I may have a problem?” you laugh it off sheepishly. You flip the light switch and Robin turns in a circle in the small bedroom that’s mostly taken up by your king sized mattresses. The bed frame pissed you off so it’s currently propped on the wall next to the bathroom door. She nods to the door. “That’s the bathroom, huh?”

“It’s tiny.” you warn as she disappears inside. Robin calls out through the closed door, “It’s the size of a closet!”

“I know!” you laugh as you flop down onto the bed, taking off the stockings you’d worn with your outfit for the day. After that, you took off the earrings and all your bracelets, the necklaces and your leather jacket, tossing the jacket at the chair. You’ve just started grabbing your favorite satin pajama shorts and the matching top and robe when Robin steps out. “I’m glad I’m not claustrophobic.”

“That’s what I said. But..” you step into the bathroom to change and take off your makeup, the door cracked so you can still talk, “It’s my space. At least now I don’t have to deal with Bob and Melanie and their excuses. Now they don’t have to bother making excuses, either. It works for everybody. Honestly, I’m surprised, “ you wet a black washcloth and pour some astringent into it, squishing until there’s a bit of foam coming through the rag, “That they said they’d help out with money if I need it?”

You step out of the bathroom and into the bedroom and Robin’s made herself at home, flopped across the bed, reading one of your issues of Cosmopolitan. “They did, huh?”

“Yeah, when they won that money and we moved, they really surprised me, they were very free with the money.” you shrug it off, grimacing. “Anyway, that doesn’t matter. How’s Hawkins High? What’s been going on since I left. I mean, I was shocked when I found out they were opening a mall here.” 

Robin laughs, raising to sit. “Yeah. Well, the highlight of the moment is the mall. It’s still boring as hell. Oh.. That note I said I’d give Tammy?”

You smile, your face lighting up only to fall when Robin frowns. “I didn’t.”

“Why the hell not, woman?”

“Well I mean… We don’t exactly live in a friendly place for… ya know.. My kind.”

You sigh and nod. “Yeah, makes sense I guess. Did you at least talk to her?”

Robin cringes and you groan quietly, shaking your head. Robin pouts. “I tried, okay? I tried.”

“Yeah, I know. Didn’t she move to Tennessee or something to try singing?”

“She did.” Robin laughs and you cringe about it. “Why, I’ll never know. I know you were in love with her but like.. Your girl could not sing.”

“Yeah, she really couldn’t.”

“Okay, so what about new prospects?”

Robin shrugs. “I’ve been busy between work and school and band.”

“Yeah.” you smile, nodding.

“So what’d you and Steve talk about earlier during your smoke break?”

You shrug. “Nothing, really.”

The lights flicker and the two of you share a look, your breath catching in your throat. You hate blackouts, the dark in general. And you hate it so much more when there’s bad weather as the cause. “I hope this storm doesn’t get as bad as they were saying on the radio on the way in.”

“Me too.”

The sounds of rowdy hard rock music and laughter and swearing drifts up through the floorboards and when the power goes out entirely, you can just faintly hear the patrons of the bar below raising hell about it. Thunder rattles the window and you and Robin jump a little.

“It’s fine, it’s fine. I’ve got candles and a flashlight.” the two of you make your way out into the kitchen and living room of the apartment and you find your flashlight and the box of matches. You and Robin go around lighting as many candles as you can and sink back down on the couch with the box of pizza you’d brought on the way sitting on the table in front of the sofa. And the topic of conversation turns back to school and people you knew or people Robin’s met in your absence.

“There’s a guy who lives in Forest Hills. He’d love you so much, holy shit, I mean.. You’re probably just his type. His name is Eddie.”

“Wait.. Eddie Munson, right?” you ask, laughing softly.

“Yeah! Wait, when did you meet him?”

“Well, you know I’ve always been nocturnal. We used to uh.. Wander around at night when everybody else was asleep. He’s sweet but like.. That spark isn’t there.”

“You mean the spark you feel around a certain dingus?”

“Hey, whoa.. He’s pretty, okay? Let’s not..” you take a bite of your slice of pizza and swallow it, “Let’s not go saying anything that serious. Besides, isn’t he dating that girl? Norah, Nelly… Nancy, that’s her name…”

“No, that ended last year. She’s dating some guy named Jonathan now.” Robin takes a bite of her pizza and shrugs. You laugh. “Then he’s got girls on top of girls on top of girls. Y’know I’m not his type.”

“Yeah, that’s what I told him earlier when he was asking a thousand questions.” Robin’s kind of giggling when she says it, searching your face for a reaction of some kind. You bite your lip and you try to stay quiet, you try to act casual, but in the end, your curiosity wins out. “What’d he ask?”

“I knew it!”

“Hey, I’m just curious what he’s asking about me.” you shrug it off and finish the slice of pizza up to the crust, sitting the crust in the box to grab another piece. You take a bite and wait.

“He was asking who you were. Then I told him and he remembered? And he was asking if you were dating anybody, stuff like that.” Robin’s smirking when you nearly choke on your pizza, reaching out to hit you between the shoulders. “Don’t die on me, he’s just a mere dingus.”

“Ha ha.” you gasp the word out, laughing. “What’d he remember?”

“More than I would’ve ever given the guy credit for noticing, truth be told.” 

“Such as?”

“The red cardigan you always wore? The way it covered your fingers? You doodled on your test papers, too. He remembered that.”

You giggle. “Yeah, I think that day the teacher let us grade each other’s papers, he got mine. I covered the one side in leopard dots and little hearts and stuff.”

“You’re not over him, are you?”

You shrug. “Maybe? Maybe not? I..” you trail off, biting your lip as you try to figure out the answer for yourself because you’re not really sure yet. “I dunno, to be honest. I mean I thought I was over him but then I saw him today and even in that stupid fucking uniform.” you fan yourself and Robin pretends to gag.

“He’s not that bad. I got the feeling when we talked the little bit we did talk earlier while we were smoking out back of the mall that he’s kinda like… Lonely?”

Robin groans and palms her face. “Be careful, you know how those guys are. I know he’s not that bad, but.. He is a dingus.”

“I know how they can be, but like… I dunno” you lean back into the sofa and let out a dramatic sigh. Robin nods to the Richie Sambora picture and laughs. “You kinda have a type.”

“Huh?”

“Well, Richie kinda has the hair situation Steve’s got going on. So do half of these other guys you have hanging up all over, come to think of it.” Robin’s teasing you and you pout, sticking your tongue out at her. 

“So he was asking about me, huh?” you mumble, mostly to yourself. Robin laughs and whacks you with one of the throw pillows you’d covered in black velvet fabric. “Hey! It was just a question, I’m not thinking about doing anything…”

But you kind of are. You just don’t know what exactly.

Friends. Maybe you could try being the guy’s friend. He certainly seemed like he needed those if the shit Carol was whispering to Nicole about him earlier were anything to go by.  

“I know that look, ___. You are.”

You shake your head, despite knowing damn well that yeah, maybe you are. “Maybe you could cut him some slack too?” you give her the smallest pleading look. “He just looked down earlier? Not himself, I dunno. Like Steve was always a mile a minute, Mr. Smooth talker and tonight he just… Wasn’t?” you look at her and she grumbles. “Fine. I’ll try.”

You smile a little.

“You.. do not go diving headfirst though, alright?”

You nod. Her advice makes sense.

“Yeah, yeah. Okay.”

“I mean it.” Robin repeats, firmer.

“Okay, alright! I swear. I’ll even pinky promise.” you hold out your pinky, linking with Robin’s.

–( steve’s house )

The phone rings and it cuts through the combination of big empty house and loud noisy mind. When he picks up and he hears the pop and hiss of static from the Camp Knowwhere payphone, Steve chuckles and grins. “Henderson, hey buddy.”

“Hey! How’s it going?”

“It’s going, man. You know me, always busy.” Steve says it, but in reality, he’s flipping through old yearbooks. He spots the picture of you in the 83 year book and he’s biting his lip. Trying to figure out which version of you he prefers. He remembers you a lot better now than he realized. He actually had a little bit of a crush on you at the beginning of the year, but then Nancy Wheeler caught his eye and he just kind of shoved that out of his head.

Carol always used to pick on you and it always used to piss him off.

To be fair, it always bothered him when Carol would start picking on anyone, but he remembers you specifically because it was one of the first times he ever voiced how it made him feel before he could stop himself from saying it.

“Steve?”

“I’m here, Henderson. Just ah..” he laughs and stands, pacing the living room with the phone in his hand and the cord near to wrapping his tall and muscular frame. “Just looking through yearbooks.”

“Ah, so you miss Hawkins High already, hm?”

“No, no. I was looking for a girl. I saw her earlier today in the mall? She used to live here but she moved or something and now she’s moved back.” he rubs his forehead. “Anyway, I just wanted to see something.”

“Uh huh, sure.”

“It’s not like that, Henderson.”

“Sure. You’re Steve Harrington, buddy. I know you. I know it has to be something. Did you talk to her? What’d she say?”

“Hey, whoa.. How about you tell me about how camp’s going so far, huh? I wanna hear all about it.”

Steve falls back against an expensive sofa and reclines his legs over the back of it. Laughing as Dustin starts to tell him about his camp girlfriend Suzy and the fact that they’re letting them build robots and they’re going to launch rockets on the last day. And Steve is smiling, laughing. Listening to Dustin because he feels a lot less lonely.

He has somebody to talk to right now, when his mind just won’t shut up.

He can talk to Dustin and the house doesn’t seem so big or so empty. And the kid’s fast become like the little sibling he never got to have.

He’s hesitant to tell Dustin this, of course, but it goes without saying.

As soon as he hangs up with Dustin, he’s flipping through the annual again, looking for a sneaky candid. Anything else that’ll give him another glimpse of you. And towards the back, he finds it. It’s a picture of you and Robin at a school carnival, in the face painting booth. The smile on your face makes him smile a little and as soon as he realizes it, he slams the yearbook shut and places it back into the cardboard box.

BEST EXPERIENCE: honestly? the VERY first interaction i had with @resiliency-in-starlight​ has been the best experience since last year. the first threads we ever did were a start and i LOVE them so much.

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS:  personally, i’m not someone who has a lot of pet peeves or dealbreaker type things? but i have two main things: constantly remaking blogs & drama. the first one is if it’s every few months to where i CANNOT track you or find you. im not gonna waste my time to find you after remaking your blog for the 6th time in a year. and for the second? it’s both with people and with anons. if you are constantly posting anons that send shit to you, i’m not gonna stick around to feel empathy. i only have so much sympathy for people, and im not gonna waste my energy seeing angst on my dash like that. and im sorry if it seems like a sore spot for people, but i have little tolerance for people who abuse anon; you add onto it by responding over and over in a consistent way. i’m not gonna stay for it.

FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT:  fluff and angst are MY absolute favorites. i will eat that shit up EVERY DAY! equally speaking bc they both play SO well together. as for smut, that is ONLY if both me and my partner want to go with it. i dont do smut that much because it generally takes me a lot to make it sound right. im a perfectionist when it comes to smut and it comes once in a while.

PLOTS OR MEMES:  MEMES! I LOVE MEMES! personally, unless you’re someone who i actively talk to, plotting is almost never happening UNLESS its an idea we both can agree on. other than that? memes are THE easiest way to do threads.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES:  it depends on who i’m writing with! i tend to write out a lot, but i match often with my partners. short or long players can go either way!

BEST TIME TO WRITE:  night time SPECIFICALLY for drafts. morning time is for inboxes and dash commentary stuff. i tend to space between times during the day when i write and what i write. but i tend to pull late night writing sessions to get stuff done. sometimes, if i have enough brain rot, i insta-reply to stuff. but it depends on the time of day usually!

     Canon       Having been a part of Ozias’s Gunner crew, he was also       made to wear their design - and in recreating him as a Synth,       they were replicated effortlessly. Given their origin however,       it’s part of why Quade typically tries to keep his arms covered.       At the same time, he’d refuse having them removed, because      he’s accepted his past and how it’s shaped him. Besides, when       he gets to kill Ozias, it’ll be all the more satisfying while still       wearing the man’s brand. |

🍒  +  @vortexparadox  lexi has so much love for so many characters & a talent to writing them all! specifically on this blog, i love that they are giving attention to several less popular characters from doctor who. like, i’m into classic and eu who and i didn’t even know all of these muses, and alas, now i am into even more eu who just because? wanted to learn more about, say, josie! all thanks to lexi’s portrayal! they are immensely awesome ooc as well. one of the few people i feel like i can fully trust with more sensitive private things, and also someone who i don’t feel the need to be scared i’m gonna lose when i have long stretches of time where i feel so overwhelmed by social interaction i just don’t talk ooc to anybody. that’s genuinely rare.

Okay, to completely derail all this right from the start, but can I just say how this was my immediate response to seeing myself referred to by they/them pronouns?

Now, on to the continued lovefest, because OMG, HELI!!!!!

I love that, of everyone on this blog, you singled out Josie, because she is seriously one of the most underrated companions in Doctor Who, especially since Eight never got a proper televised run, and then so many people just... ignore the comics altogether, which is a damn shame given how many great characters (and characterisations of more well known characters) come out of them - especially from the Titan Comics’s side of things.

Josie’s run only lasted five issues, because they never gave them a “Year 2″ or further like they did with many of the other Doctor & Companion(s) combinations (like Ten with Gabby and Cindy). So beyond that and a handful of panels in some of the specials, there’s not a lot to go by past her initial travels with the Doctor as he learns just who exactly she even is. Add to it that she’s one of the non-human companions that is also forever removed from her place in time and space, and one of the few companions that, insofar as canon has been concerned with, doesn’t die or nothing horrible happens, so she just... keeps living in the Doctor’s cottage in Wales for the foreseeable future? A truly rare “happy ending” for a companion, even when forced to stay behind due to the Time War? Yeah. It was impossible for me not to fall in love with her.

Plus all of the expanded universe stuff is always... a bit harder to gain traction with, especially outside of their tiny niche fandoms. Part of the whole reason I decided to focus so heavily on the EU and Classic side of things is because there’s so little of it on here, especially in the rpc side of things. Plus having more than the same core cast of characters, when there are literally hundreds of main cast characters in the DWEU, yet more often than not, you can only find the same handful of characters in terms of both rp and even fan works?

I can only really speak for myself here, but I thoroughly enjoy variety, and having a wider range of characters, all with varying personalities (which, let me tell you, can be a bitch to manage at times, especially when they do share some traits between a lot of them [hi, my name is Lexi, and I enjoy writing snarky little shits]) is not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination. Especially when so many people aren’t even aware some of these characters even exist - like Josie, Gabby, Cindy, or Noobis (the last of whom actually existed before his appearance in the comics, but through one of the Faction Paradox audios, but he didn’t get as much of his backstory explored until the comics).

So yeah, it means a lot to me that these muses are appreciated, and I love you dearly for getting into their source material so I have someone to scream excitedly about them (especially Josie) with because there’s not many people who even know them beyond my writing, edits, and such. (See also: reasons why I typically don’t share hc’s unless I’m really excited about something without being specifically asked for them...)

As for the ooc side of things... 

I can’t even begin to tell you how relieved I am that you realise all that. You’re damn right in that - you don’t have to worry about ever losing me just because we don’t talk for a while. It’s always baffled me when people perceive friendships as having... expiration dates, I guess? Or maybe subscription end dates would be a better analogy? Like “we’re sorry, you didn’t use your friendship for 30 days, so now we’re ending your friendship”. Seriously? 

I have friends who I only speak to every few months because their schedules are just that hectic, but I don’t love them any less for not being able to talk to me regularly. I know that I can always message them - and even wall of text them - at any time, and they’re able to do the same with me, and it’s never been awkward. These are friends I’ve held onto for damn near 20 years now from when I was fresh out of high school, and I’m confident that they’ll still be there in another 20 years.

And I look forward to being able to say that about you (and Dean) too, many years down the road. You’re stuck with me now. And my inevitable sappiness when I end up all “aww, you guys! I love you~” because I do. Love you, that is.

You’re a dear friend, and I’m just so glad we managed to stumble across each other on this hellsite. It just wouldn’t be the same without you. 💕

Who the heck is my muse anyway?

   Arthas Menethil is the Lich King of the Scourge, which means that he is the tyrannical god-emperor of various undead creatures (zombies, ghosts, wights, vampires, and Frankenstein-esque monstrosities just to name a few). He was originally a heroic, benevolent man before falling to evil and deciding he liked it down in the dark.

   In addition to his Scourge, he is worshiped and obeyed by an assortment of organizations of various living beings, and even a certain pack of werewolves. He is the most powerful necromancer in the world, and has aspirations of killing everyone to raise them as subjects for his kingdom of the dead.  

Points of interest:

Fall of the Lich King happened, wherein he died after Frostmourne was shattered. Bolvar was the Lich King for a while. Kel’Thuzad eventually found and stole Arthas’ body before resurrecting his lord, and they gallivanted around Azeroth during the Cataclysm, trying to find the shards of Frostmourne and stay out of public sight. Eventually (in MoP) they make their way back to ICC, kill Bolvar, and Arthas is the Lich King once more.

My portrayal of Arthas borrows heavily from Rise of the Lich King in addition to Warcraft III and Wrath; I more or less ignore what Chronicles says about him, because I prefer the way that Rise explored his struggle between humanity and inhumanity and it gives me a bit of content to work in regards to building up an idea of who Arthas was in life, and how that stays with him in death.

The Lich King is a god(ish) and Arthas has the ego, power, and cult to back up that mentality. He can and has murdered dozens of heroes with little more than a wave of his hand; is capable of resurrecting ancient, powerful entities to serve him in undeath; grants “blessings” upon those who earn his favor; and possesses an empire of slavering monsters chomping at the bit to do absolutely anything he says. ‘Human’ is not the word for what he is anymore.  

And Arthas was once a man; no matter how hard he has ever tried, no matter what he’s done to himself or to anyone else, Arthas is still plagued by the vestiges of his humanity, which often manifests as him taking a special interest in certain individuals: Jai.na, Andu.in, adventurers, and (negatively) Syl.vanas for instance. As a result, his reactions to people are sporadic: he might show surprising lenience or tolerance for acts of defiance and opposition should the perpetrator tug on the right heartstring.

Arthas has a daughter whom is generally his Deathlord in the pertinent verses. Her status as his daughter is relatively common knowledge post-Wrath of the Lich King, and is a contentious spot for him.

What they’ve been up to recently:

WARCRAFT: Arthas has been (quietly, quietly) aiding in the repulsion of the Burning Legion from Azeroth, for he despises his old demonic masters and has no intention of losing his world to them. He is also busy reestablishing the Scourge as a power to be feared, and returning Northrend under his control. With the conclusion of Legion, he is now focused upon rebuilding his kingdom after the Burning Legion trashed it again and also I’m paying zero attention to what’s going on in Battle of Azeroth so idk any way to really integrate him!!! Also we’re gonna just ignore everything that kickstarted Shadowlands because fuck that noise.

SWTOR: Darth Necrolis, once a promising Jedi Knight, now an insidious Lord of the Sith, seeks out the eldritch knowledge of Darth Nihilus and even the Emperor, Vitiate, in his quest to obtain immortality. Although, gifted with the frightening ability to bind Force ghosts to himself, one wonders if his search is redundant at this point.

Where to find them:

WARCRAFT: Northrend in general, and Icecrown in particular, are the Lich King’s usual haunts, along with other Scourge strongholds such as the Plaguelands or Naxxramas. He may also wander through areas of present note because he’s a curious lad. (Aka the current expansion’s region: Broken Isles for Legion, Pandaria for Mists, etc., etc….)

SWTOR: While Necrolis can generally be found nearly anywhere in Imperieal space, Dromund Kaas and Korriban are perhaps the safest locations to catch him. He may also be within his citadel on the wintry planet on Northrend.

RESTORE THE SCOURGE: We trashed his kingdom last time we took a gander through Northrend, and he’s hard at work not only repairing what we broke, but reinforcing it. To that end, he seeks to otain new resources and sources of power. Azerite, for example…

CORRUPT THE KNIGHTS OF THE EBON BLADE: Particularly from Legion onward, the Lich King has his eye on Acherus and its denizens, subtly setting in place plans to turn the world against him and leave them no recourse but to return to the Scourge.

KILL EVERYONE: Self-explanatory.

SWTOR:

CRUSH THE REPUBLIC: Jedi are nerds and he WILL stuff you into a frozen space locker.

OBTAIN IMMORTALITY: He’s going to end up devouring a planet a la Vitiate, I feel.

BIND MORE FORCE GHOSTS TO HIMSELF: More ghosts = more power = good.

BECOME THE NEW EMPEROR: You’re not a real Sith Lord if you’re not trying.

ALIVE: I don’t write a lot with or about Arthas prior to his fall, and I really should. It’s a fun exercise in trying to show those hints of the boy who will be king, and the boy who might not have.

Soooo heads up on what I’ll be doing over the next few days:

I’m gonna...start moving most of my muses over here. Not sure if I’ll archive that sideblog just yet, but I know that since I have a few threads going over there, I might be still reblogging those there or here.

So for those wondering who I’m adding, well....I’m going to have Shadow again (I’m gonna have to redo his....backstory about stuff), along with a few OCs that were here before like Sandy and J. Can’t really add Bonnet because she ended up over on the SFF blog for the most part, but she’ll probably be over here when she has to deal with her brother or my other OCs antics (at least she’s used to Shard....kinda).

Let’s see...I’m actually trying to test out Tails but...with the sideblog being pretty much inactive, might as well try and test him out here.

tldr: I’m basically adding a bunch of OCs to the blog, some that were on the blog before, some that were not and a couple of canon characters. I’ll...hopefully have this done over the next few days.

there’s parts of this series that’s probably hella offensive, so i put it down first to get it out of the way. but the concept of a geass, a world war, and territories. plus the endless opportunity for muses of all ages to be involved. it’s good on paper, to be honest!

ohhhhhh this is perfect for y’all that love witch rps that have been coming up! ssr is the story of two girls who are both in the running to be the next queen in their dimension, so they go to earth to ‘harvest’ / acquire crystal hearts produced by humans’ feeling emotions of any kind, each color corresponding to certain points. in the series, there also the ogres’ side who want to harvest as much black hearts (resulting from negative human emotions) to take over the world. it’s a cute af series (both manga and anime) and it has cute worldbuilding stuff in it like makeup infused with magic, certain items that need to be bought if you wanna do a particular spell.

this was a long time coming and im literally shaking as i type this because this. series. is. my. shit. honestly, the next few lines is what i’d do as admin if i bring this rp to life. asian faceclaims only/faceclaims of color only. ninja world - probably taking place after both of the series’ timelines because boruto is still going on and it might affect rp events if you try to write with it, instead of away from it. you could also do an au, but the seeds of the world’s history is within canon and there’s just so much to it unless you can come up with a way to start from scratch, but still make it...a ninja world, i guess, with justus and clans in place.

i suggested this on a previous ask here but it’s a mere mention of the soul society, and honestly? that’s a good starting point. it all depends on which part of the series you wanna zero in on! i honestly have not updated myself with anything bleach (besides the live action movie that s c r e a m s ichiruki and i cried) so im not exactly..sure..how things are. (i know ichiruki didnt become canon n im a lil pissed) but you could read up on the series and see if it’s something you’d like to tackle!

Preferably yes. Normally if I feel there is a potential for a really good ship and the mun is giving me all the right signals, I will proceed with said ship without needing to be asked first, but I do usually try and ask if I’m not certain.

FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU?:

The best way to ship with me is to NOT approach me for the sole reason of shipping. I’m here to write stories and craft some amazing world building and character arcs. That’s what’s most important to me, not the shipping aspect itself, that’s just the icing on the cake. If you’re gonna approach me for a ship, my best advice to you would be to disguise it in the form of a story hook.

The best stories are made when there is conflict. It doesn’t have to be something big like both characters are on opposites side of the war, but there needs to be something that puts them at odds with each other or the goal ahead of them. Maybe one needs the others help, maybe one is keeping a secret from the other, maybe they have the same goal but can’t tolerate each other at first. My point is, don’t just throw a whole bunch of fluffy domestic stuff the two can do together because I’m not that kind of storyteller. I’m not good at slice of life stuff or episodic storytelling.

I need you to give me a plot hook, not a happy ending.

I also don’t care if you’re rping for 10 years or started 5 minutes ago. I’ll give you a chance but I reserve the right to not rp with you. Sometimes writing styles or characters just don’t work. It has nothing to do with you or your worth as writer/rper.

OOC drama and hate will be deleted upon sight and the person behind it will be blocked immediately. I’m here to have fun. (I don’t mind IC drama, though.)

I answer strictly chronological. First come first serves. It’s how I keep things organised and I’m not gonna change that, so don’t try to make me favour a certain thread. The only result you’ll get is a dropped thread and a block. (Possible exceptions: I reply to an open starter I consider interesting or a reply didn’t appear in my activity. Otherwise they’ll disappear in my drafts.)

Exceptions to the point above: New threads will get some priority over already established and tracked threads so I can add them to my tracker quickly and they don’t get lost to the void. After the threads are added to my tracker, they’re part of the first come first serves order.

I’m fine with nsfw stuff (fighting, violence etc.), but I’m NOT going to rp smut. Also considering the source material, fighting, deaths, injuries and the likes will be present on this blog.

Romantic ships will only happen when we already did rp for a while and there’s chemistry between our muses. Also please tell me if you ship our muses, I’m dense at that topic.

Most of the time, I’m rather slow with answering threads. English isn’t my native language, I need time to find the proper words for my answers. Depending on various things, it might take me a month or more to answer a thread.

I’m horrible at one-lined rps and don’t like them to be honest so it’s unlikely that you’ll see one of those. I usually write about two to three paragraphs, though it can be longer – if I have something to work with. If you give me something to work with, length is of second rank. But please don’t answer with one or two sentences if I wrote three paragraphs.

If you willingly stretch my muse’s patience, don’t be surprised when she snaps and reacts violently. She’s neither the most peaceful nor the most patient person.

I’ll happily rp with multiple interpretations of the same canon character. Give me all the duplicates!

I don’t mind if my partners take their time for answering our threads. No matter if it’s because you simply have no inspiration or your RL is too busy for the moment.

I don’t mind my partners using icons and cool formatting, but personally I use it very little. Formatting is mostly used to enhance the meaning of something.

Please don’t use fonts that are smaller than 1 size smaller of the standard Tumblr font! I have trouble to read anything that’s smaller than that! Also please don’t do double or triple blanks between words!

Reblogging the answered ask to continue our rp is fine by me. If you prefer to move it to a new post, that’s fine too. 

I’m willing to change certain things about my headcanons or ignore some of them but I’d prefer to talk about it beforehand. However, Arawynn being imprisoned by Morgoth is an extremely important part of why she has become who she is so it’s highly unlikely that I’ll abandon this one.

how did you get the idea for your url: initially i had the url of tattooeyes, which was just some rando shit i came up with in 2008. But after i saw btvs i became so in love with it, started following buffy blogs, and started making original content for the first time in tumblr. i basically became a buffy blog and i wanted to reflect that so i settled for bisummers because... its true? Buffy Summers is canonically bisexual and I love her so... WHO THE HECK IS MY MUSE ANYWAY:

dr. henry jekyll, the titular character of strange case of dr. jekyll and mr. hyde, is a wealthy, well-respected physician living in edinburgh* in the late 1800s. outwardly, he’s seen as a generous, intelligent, and kind-hearted man, if a little arrogant, and he’s known around society for his charity. however, in his forties, he begins to become obsessed with the idea that every person is really two people: a pure good half and a pure evil half. he starts attempting to concoct a potion that will separate out these two halves --- not to obliterate the evil, but simply to give it a separate and autonomous form so that it doesn’t drag down the good half’s intentions and so that the good half’s inhibitions don’t hinder the evil half’s desires. he eventually creates a drug that he believes will separate out these dual halves; however, it only works halfway. when he drinks this elixir, he becomes a purely evil version of himself who is unrecognisable physically. although his mind state is altered, he is still jekyll, and he still remains conscious and aware the whole time he’s in this second, purely evil body. he can easily turn himself back into the usual dr. jekyll by taking this drug again, and, vice versa, when he wants to become his second self, he does so by taking that same drug. he notes that although he has created a purely evil version of himself, there is no purely good version, as he remains ‘the same old henry jekyll, that incongruous compound.’ 

instead of continuing with his research and experimentation until he finds a way to split out both halves, as was his original intention, he simply decides that the appeal of living a double life is too enticing not to take. he gives himself a new name in his second body --- edward hyde --- and sets about living his life in perfect disguise and self-indulgence. as henry jekyll, he presents himself as a model of respectability, hard work, and virtue; as hyde, he indulges in horrific, violent, sadistic crimes to satisfy his own desires. because he’s totally unrecognisable as hyde, no one ever has a chance of pinning the crimes on jekyll. 

it’s important to note, as stated above, that jekyll REMEMBERS everything he does as hyde and takes active pleasure in it. a lot of films imply that he doesn’t remember anything he does as hyde, or that the transformations are totally involuntary, but that’s not the case in the book. jekyll knows everything he’s doing, and he sets up this double life very meticulously so that he can get away with doing whatever he wants with no chance of consequences. 

*the book originally takes place in london, but after reading a lot of analysis and talking to a lot of my professors, i made the choice to set it in edinburgh instead, as most critics agree that the city stevenson describes is far, far more like edinburgh than london.

POINTS OF INTEREST:

henry’s very tall. he’s not overly muscular or fat, but he is described as ‘large,’ overall --- in addition to being tall, he’s quite stockily built. 

when most of the book’s events take place, jekyll is fifty to fifty-one; when he dies, he’s fifty-one to fifty-two. don’t believe the films that show him as a sexy 25 year old. they’re lying to u.

he has a habit of being extremely manipulative. it’s subtle, but very definite throughout the book: he tends to use leading phrases like ‘confident as i am that you won’t fail me’ or ‘you know how much i did for others’ or ‘if you fail me you’ll have my suffering on your conscience,’ so on and so forth. he likes to guilt people into things, which is extremely shitty.

he tends to throw lots of lavish dinner parties for his friends. expensive wine, expensive food, the works.

he has two law degrees, although he never seems to use them in the book. they’re mentioned once, when utterson is listing off his credentials, and never brought up again. why does he have them? what does he do with them? illuminati confirmed?

in the book, his canon wealth is the rough equivalent of around thirty million pounds in today’s money. to say he’s loaded is an understatement, honestly. 

his house is enormous. it’s so big. it has three floors in the main building, and two floors in the laboratory, which is an entire separate building. he’s a bachelor. he doesn’t need this much space. what the fuck.

WHAT THEY’VE BEEN UP TO RECENTLY:

in canon verse, he mostly tends to just be living his double life. he’s content with that. in modern verse, he’s usually planning for whatever next big scientific conference he’s gonna go to.

WHERE TO FIND THEM:

usually in edinburgh. he travels around a lot more in the modern au, so he can sometimes be found in america, london, mainland europe, etc. it depends on the interaction.

anything in canon verse, honestly?? it feels so rare that i ever get to write interactions in canon verse, so i’d love to do that. just anything is good. 

ngl, i love the premise of ‘mary reilly,’ i just hate how it was executed. i’d love to do a plot similar to that, where your muse is jekyll’s servant and starts noticing the really shady shit that’s going down in his house. 

i know this is a long shot, but i really want to write with characters closer to jekyll’s age. i bitch about it a lot, but it feels like there are no characters in the rpc over 30, let alone over 45 / 50, and that limits so much. i want jekyll to get to talk to characters his own age. there are so many things we could do with that, y’know?? i’ve gotten super tired of him always having to be the mentor / uncle figure to young characters.

As a matter of fact, I have, though thankfully it wasn’t in this fandom, but one I only recently trundled back to, and one from way back that I don’t think I’m ever going to be going back to for a number of reasons.

Oddly enough, this person from the very old fandom wasn’t even a part of the fandom I was in. It was a crossover type thing, and the first crossover I’d ever written. But there was a lot of vagueblogging on her part whenever I did anything they didn’t like. And by that, I mean the dash was flooded with posts saying that ‘this person’ didn’t ship things like they thought they did, TAGGED WITH OUR CHARACTERS, and going on to complain ON THE DASH to her mutuals that ‘some person’ (still tagged with our ship) was making their anxiety and depression worse. My crime? I didn’t have my muse kiss theirs within thirty in-reply minutes (tops; probably less) of them first meeting. I ended up fanmailing them saying it wasn’t that I didn’t ship them, it’s just that I wanted to take it slow, and after that they went back to acting like we were best friends while spamming my inbox with messages about their wedding.

I wish I was joking.

It’s also worth noting that I was a teenager, and the other person was, according to their rules page, in their twenties. This only happened one or two more times before I blocked them, but the more I thought about about it, the more I kind of wished I got out sooner, but at the same time, I’m just glad I got out at all.

The other person was in a bigger fandom, and they were writing with some other people I know and consider friends. They introduced themselves by messaging me right after they followed, saying, ‘Hi, I’m [person I’m still good friends with]’s friend! [They] recommended your blog to me, so I thought I’d say hi! My name’s [name]!” … Or something along that vein. Introduced themselves, added that they’d heard about me from a mutual friend, and that was the last normal conversation I had with them, outside of a few attempts at plotting. 

This person would come into my IMs at odd hours and just complain to me. I didn’t even really know this person’s name, and they would just dump their life problems in the IMs. Like how their best friend was stressed in college, so they were not gonna contact her by their own choice, but now they were sad and missed her and anxious and yeah, I get that that sucks, but I was a complete stranger? And they’d go on and on and I could hardly get a word in edgewise. Whenever I did manage to say anything and try to comfort them or offer advice, they’d shut me down, give lists of reasons why my suggestions wouldn’t work, and go back to complaining at me. This happened literally all of the time, it was all they’d talk to me about. They also really liked hounding me about being agender, too? I’ll give an example of this in a bit.

I feel like I should clarify, here, that I enjoy helping my friends with their problems. I like being a shoulder to cry on. But the emphasis is on ‘my friends’. People I am comfortable with. I would also appreciate some warning? Even just a ‘hey, can I vent to you for a sec?’ at least lets me get in the right mindset to be able to deal with this sort of thing. I got no warning from this person. It’s also nice to talk about something else from time to time? But, no, it was just a constant stream of negativity from them. I’m being completely serious when I say I couldn’t make a single post on either of my blogs without them messaging me. It was actually kind of terrifying, to say the least. Had to start developing a routine based on when they were usually offline to avoid being harassed. 

It didn’t take me too long to consider blocking them, because of the outpouring of negativity, but also because they kept dropping threads without telling me, then talking about how I was ignoring them, to me, and THEN requesting starters and completely ignoring ALL THREE OF THE STARTERS i’D JUST WRITTEN THEM, and THEN saying they were too lazy or kept forgetting to look the starters up? But I was the one who was ignoring them. The day I was first about to block them, they message me about how their friends are all blocking them. I briefly wonder if they’re a telepath. They say, after a very long rant, something along the lines of ‘but at least I have you, Jay. You’d never do that, you’re my best friend. I’m lucky to have you’. And on the one hand, I’m thinking, you know, what the hell, since when were we best friends? And I know that sounds mean, but I’d barely spoken to them, both because they never listened and because I was super uncomfortable talking to them; we barely interacted IC because they kept dropping threads and outright ignoring things I’d write for them; I never made an effort to contact them since the conversation was always focused solely on how bad their life was; We’d only been in contact for a month or two, tops, and it took about a year for Rodi and I (or my irl highschool best friend, Hannah, and I) to get to True BFF Level; Never once did they show any concern for me, or really anyone aside from themselves; Honestly, I’m kind of surprised they even knew my name. But I’m their best friend, apparently, and now of course I feel super guilty, because I was about to block them, and now I was the bad guy.

Oh, and to add on to all this, they forced headcanons on my muse. Once again, I feel like I need to clarify: I love people bouncing headcanons off me. If you think Braig would like XY thing, tell me; If you have an idea of a scenario for our muses together, send me it, I’d love to hear it. I’ll even reblog that ‘tell me your headcanons for my muse’ meme. I love it.

What this person did was different. This person, without asking, conferring with me, or even giving me any warning, they decided my muse was a child abuser. I don’t think I need to elaborate on why that was a bad thing. This went against my headcanons, contradicted canon at some points, and made no sense to me, but apparently my muse was now a child abuser. Eugh.

Oh, and before I give a brief run-down on what finally prompted me to block this person, I feel it’s worth mentioning that when we’d first started talking, I’d just turned eighteen, and they were twenty-one. 

Anyway, so the straw that finally sucker-punched the camel in the jaw was when they messaged me after A Day. I was tired, hungry, had been in class all morning and in line at the campus book store for half an hour, and my arms were loaded down with textbooks. I was sort of struggling through tumblr for something to do, but typing was pretty hard. This person swings into my IMs and starts a suspiciously normal conversation - Actually asks me about school, what my major is, etc etc. I’m giving one-word replies for the most part, both because I’m not in the most social mood (and I’m not comfortable with this person to begin with), and because I don’t have the hands free to type long sentences anyway. But I’m starting to think that maybe, just maybe, this person has turned over a new leaf. Maybe I was right for giving them so many chances. And then, in the middle of the conversation, zero warning, they say:

“Are you out to your family, yet?”

And I’m just stunned. I had no idea how to respond. After a minute or more of me just staring, not answering, they add, ‘can I ask that?’, and I had no idea what to say in return aside from something like ‘no, I’m not, and I don’t know if I ever will be’, hoping to end the conversation. This person then starts complaining at me for not being out, because they wanted help with getting their family to remember their pronouns. I offered some suggestions anyways, those were all ignored, and out came more rants about how terrible their life was. 

I blocked them not long after, after speaking to two close friends who agreed that I probably should’ve done so earlier.

So, yeah, those are the two instances that come to mind. I’m a bit more careful with who I chill with, now, and I’ve learned to be pretty blunt when shutting this stuff down, so it hasn’t happened since. \o/
