Amai's Fantasy Noble Houses

^^ The Courthouse of Nouveau Thuille

So yesterday, I went on a big info dump about Nouveau Thuille itself, but its most important aspect is its people -- the Noble Houses of Nouveau Thuille. Factions are one of my FAVORITE PARTS of worldbuilding, so please indulge me as I gush about how COOL all my Houses are <3 <3 ,3

**House d'Magnia**

^^ The Manor d'Magnia

House d'Magnia is Arlasaire's House, my protagonist! Well, kinda. See, House d'Magnia sigil is a winged serpent and its words are "Eshew Axiom for Ascendancy" which basically means "We break the law to win." They are known for being the most brutal and underhanded in their tactics -- Giluniques, the heir, had his eye cut out as a baby with the hopes that he would become a mage. (He did.) And one of the House's favorite things to do is take in society's undesirables and turned them into hitmen. Arlasaire was one such person -- she was effectively Gil's human pet, growing up. He got to teach her to read and write and murder people and stuff. His father probably did this because Gil's mom died in childbirth with his stillborn sister and Arlasaire was a burned orphan child whose village was destroyed in a Dragonstorm. Who was going to say "No"? It wasn't a great environment for her, despite her pride in her upbringing. It really messed with her head. House d'Magnia is known for its Ysse engineering -- though Arlasaire never took to the House's art

**House d'Aramitz**

Ah, the good ole House d'Aramitz! This grand old House has controlled the military since House d'Solais ruled a united North. Their sigil (or maybe they're coats-of-arms?) is a gold sword with two shields on each side. They also are in charge of military production and were probably some of the earliest adopters of the assembly line. They value tradition and typically, their members most staunchly believe in the notion that they are keeping order and fulfilling the will of the long dead Emperor.

As of the start of my World Letters, House d'Aramitz is led by Silvestre and he has two or three sons (idk, doesn't matter) -- the eldest of whom is a sweet gay guy named Cleiv who really wishes his dad would stop trying to make him get married.

Oh, and I think their art isssssssss Martial Arts? Or maybe textilesssss? Idk, I'll roll with it now lol

**House d'Fealtoire**

House d'Fealtoire is currently being run by a young woman and her sisters are all women, but gender isn't the reason it's sometimes called "The House of Wh*res" -- that's because the House's ongoing political strategy is just to suck up to whoever is in power and keep them there. They're considered to be charming but duplicitous -- but hey! It's working! They're extremely rich and they typically end up funding the plots of the other Houses and their many, numerous smaller houses. Their sigil is a bowl of blooming Tobacco violets with vines dripping out on either side.

Lucienne d'Fealtoire is currently running the House, with her two younger sisters, Celia and Derecina. Luce has a sorted history with House d'Magnia -- she was engaged to Gil as a child and they grew up quite fond of each other. But then, her dad tried to poison every other noble at Court. Arlasaire dropped a chandelier on him to stop him. Lucienne and Gil's engagement was technically cut off at that point... except when his dad died of a heart attack a few years later, they promptly picked up where they left off. And you can imagine the kind of relationship two ambitious, horny teens have...

Anyway, House d'Fealtoire is full of musicians and dancers. Performance arts. Unfortunately, over the 5 years since I started Yssaia, I didn't always remember this and I did this whole portrait of Lucienne painting Arlasaire (below). Not that there's anything WRONG with her being multitalented, but she should definitely be an excellent actress and dancer. It just WORKS with her characterization.

**House d'Romanach**

House d'Romanach is a fan favorite because they're the House of the People. They're only three generations old, run by Lady Isaurala d'Romanach, and they're basically a factory and farmer's union that became a noble house. Isaurala's #1 priority is the well-being of the people -- but this puts her diametrically opposed to many of the Houses in the war, who are interested in fighting for independence and sovereignty, where she would rather just surrender to the seemingly less-corrupt South. Of course, she also knows when elections come, she'll keep her power and privilege, even when the others don't, so like... you know... Their sigil is a hammer and anvil, and their artform is painting.

**House d'Solais** (Gone)

House d'Solais -- or actually, just House Solais because grammar worked differently 400 years ago -- died when Riavh d'Solais, the Once and Future Emperor, the Sun King, etc. etc. died in a civil war with his son. Under the justness of his rule (and very nice, Dragon-summoning sword and amazing propaganda machine and a wife who could see all the possibilities of the future to pick the best one), Riavh united the North 400 years ago. He rose to power at age 14, when he pulled a sword out of an anvil at the back of the last king's Trialhall. He married a fairy for his wife. And his champion was the strongest and most charming fighter in all the land. But the world was not ready for a man so pure and kind. And so, he was killed by his own, wicked son in a revolt. (It was definitely the son's fault. Definitely. And Riavh was definitely not a depressed, young father with incredible military advisors who could only unite a culturally diverse North for barely a generation under the threat of force.) Their sigil is a radiant sun-shaped crown. Riavh did not leave behind a Trialhall for a next Emperor -- instead, he is allegedly sleeping until such a time arises that he can rise again and bring about a world without war. And the Noble Houses hold his crown until this inevitable return.

Pairing: Robert Capa x Reader

Summary: The walls around here are too thin, and Capa can't seem to mind his own business.

A/N: In the words of Jayne Cobb... I'll be in my bunk. This was the winner of my "Bad Summary WIPs" poll. I had originally intended for "Gravity Wins" to be a working title that I would change later, but uh, it did win, so I'm keeping it lol. Happy Capa Month! 🥰

Life aboard Icarus II had its charms. The views were unlike anything else; the oxygen garden was truly breathtaking; and the ship itself was pleasantly quaint, in a close-knit kind of way. Most of the time, at least. Sometimes, that same pleasant quaintness had a habit of dissolving into claustrophobia; the tight quarters and lack of privacy suddenly surrounding you on all sides. 

That’s why it was important to find small moments of joy where you could, to pass the time. And that’s why you were currently in the canteen, with Cassie and Corazon squeezed in on either side of you, passing around a bottle of contraband vodka. 

It was cheap stuff; strawberry flavored. Not necessarily what you would have picked to drink, but beggars couldn’t be choosers and Cassie - god love her - had always had terrible taste in booze. Still, it got the job done. And getting to spend a night gossiping and getting a little tipsy every once in a while was just enough to break up the daily routine and keep the three of you from going mad.

Only three months into the mission, and your one bottle was already two-thirds empty. It was going to be a long flight.

“Y’know what I miss?” Cassie sighed, shoulders loose as she passed the bottle over to you. “Pizza.”

You took a swig - the cheap, artificial taste of fruit mixing terribly with the burn of alcohol - and passed the bottle on. Corazon slouched forward on the table.

“Don’t talk about food, Cassie. Please,” she whined. 

It wasn’t as if you were starving, but the bare-bones, monotonous rotation of meals you all ate while onboard the ship left a lot to be desired. You could feel your mouth watering just at the thought of something besides the same old efficient, nutritionally-dense meals you’d been eating for weeks now.

“I miss ice cream,” you jumped in.

Corazon groaned and took a sip of the vodka, rubbing her head.

“Enough already,” she begged.

“Fine then, Cora - what do you miss?” asked Cassie, reaching across your little circle to take the bottle back. She tipped it against her lips, taking a quick sip.

“My vibrator,” answered the biologist.

You and Cassie burst into laughter; high-pitched giggles bouncing off the walls of the cramped space. 

“I’m serious,” laughed Cora, nudging your shoulder.

“Oh, I believe you - I miss mine, too,” Cassie admitted. 

You hummed in agreement. It was a long journey, and until you’d stepped foot on the ship, you really hadn’t anticipated all the small comforts of home you would miss. If getting off could be considered a comfort.

“Here’s the real question though,” said Cassie, pointing the bottle at each of you in turn. “Would you fuck any of the guys?”

“On the ship?” you asked.

“You see any other guys around?” Cassie laughed. 

You joined her, feeling the hot flush of alcohol rise on your cheeks.

“What about Mace?” Cora offered.

“Too angry.” Cassie scrunched her nose.

“Sure, he’s hot-headed - but with guys, sometimes that means he’s a good fuck.”

Another round of laughter echoed after Corazon’s remark.

“Harvey?” you suggested, narrowing your eyes. Watching to see if either of the other women’s faces betrayed a genuine reaction.

“Kind of stuck-up,” Cora commented.

The group agreed, and lapsed into silence. The bottle made another round, and you felt yourself starting to tip past the point of a slight buzz.

“How ‘bout Capa?” Cassie asked.

“Maybe if he wasn’t such a dick,” Cora scoffed.

You snorted, then scrambled to control your expression.

“I think he’s kinda hot,” Cassie ventured.

A chorus of oooohs made their way around the table; Cassie waving them off.

“But I wouldn’t sleep with him,” she insisted. “Seems like the kind of guy to make himself come and then roll over.”

Corazon laughed sharply and then turned to face you.

“What about you, huh?” she asked, voice lowering. “Would you let Capa teach you all about physics and where he can stick ‘em?”

Before you had a chance to tease Cora about being so buzzed that she couldn’t even come up with a half-sensical sex joke about physics, the party was broken up by the arrival of a fourth person. Speak of the devil himself.

Capa glanced over at the three of you as he walked in, pausing to quietly open a cupboard and pull something out. Cora ignored him. Cassie took a swig of the vodka. And you quickly averted your eyes, looking down at your lap as your face burned.

“What are you all giggling about?” Capa droned.

“Nothing,” Cora snapped, a little harsher than was necessary.

Capa’s eyes narrowed, landing on the vodka. There was a moment of rigid silence.

“You know there’d be trouble if the captain found out about that,” he commented.

It wasn’t exactly a threat, but it wasn’t exactly a harmless observation either. Cassie stood up and slouched over to him, pressing the bottle against his chest. You were watching out of the corner of your eye, still too embarrassed to meet anyone’s gaze.

“But you wouldn’t tell on us - right, Capa?” Cassie asked sweetly. 

She was a little too drunk for her own good, and you felt a quick bolt of tension in your stomach. Capa gave each of you a questioning look, impossible to tell what he was thinking as he backed off and walked out the way he’d come in.

“Just keep it down in here,” he muttered.

Once he was out of earshot, Cassie sat down, and the three of you shared a shy laugh of relief. Corazon instantly broke the tension.

“See? What’d I say? He’s a dick.”

The next morning, you woke up groggier than you should have. After Capa’s interruption, the vodka bottle was quickly put away, hidden in Cassie’s bunk for another night. You hadn’t really had too much to drink, but the minor shame of getting caught mixed with the shitty vodka was enough to make you feel thrown off.

You shuffled out of bed, slipping into a pair of sandals after pulling on your pants. You shrugged into a shirt and ran a tired hand over your face.

On your way to the bathroom, Harvey stopped you. You only had the energy to listen to about half of what he was saying, still feeling grumpy and with a sour taste in your mouth. He was talking to you about some report; asking why it hadn’t been submitted in triplicate. You clenched your jaw, really not having the patience to deal with him right now.

You promised Harvey you’d re-file your report, and walked away before he could rope you into any more conversation. Cora’s assessment of him was accurate, you thought. Stuck-up.

As you walked, your thoughts wandered back to how the night had ended. Or, more accurately, to what had happened just before you’d been interrupted by the very topic of your conversation. Capa. You had been about to open your mouth to answer Cora’s question about him… or, not answer. You had actually been planning to make a joke and shift the attention away from yourself, specifically so that you wouldn’t have to give a straight yes or no. Because, of course, you didn’t want either of the other girls to know-

“Hey, wait up!” 

A voice behind you caused you to jump. You turned to see Cassie, already catching up behind you, oddly chipper considering that she’d been the one drinking more of the vodka than anybody last night.

“Hey, Cas.”

She fell into step beside you, easily keeping up with your sluggish pace. You tried to straighten up and match her energy, but it was hard to when all you wanted to do was crawl back in bed.

“Harvey just stopped me in the hallway,” Cassie told you. “Said something about getting you to file a report? I just wanted to warn you; he seemed pissed.”

Great - now Harvey was sending your friends after you.

“Yeah, we already talked about it,” you muttered. 

“You okay?” Cassie asked. “You look miserable.”

You felt miserable. And not just because of last night. For the past few weeks, you’d felt off. Moody. Unfocused. You'd been trying to push through it, but you felt yourself losing ground, and you were frustrated. 

It was partly to be expected - at least according to Searle, the ship’s de facto therapist, who you had talked to about your problems a few days ago. Space travel was taxing on the body, and sometimes doubly so on the mind. You felt cooped up, and getting mildly drunk with Cassie and Corazon only provided a temporary distraction.

“Cabin fever?” Cassie guessed.

“Something like that,” you agreed.

Cassie sighed. “Cora was right. We all really need to get laid.”

“Cassie!” 

You hissed her name, spinning around to check that no one was behind you eavesdropping. The last thing you needed was a repeat of last night.

“Relax - I’m not saying I’ll fuck you, so don’t get all excited,” Cassie joked. “But she is right. It gets to you, after a while.”

It certainly did, and you could attest to that fact. Last night it had seemed almost funny; giggling with your friends over missing your vibrators. But the truth was, three long months into your journey, you were already starting to go stir crazy from a life of near-celibacy.

“Maybe you just need to blow off some steam.” Cassie prodded, not letting up.

“Cas, no offense, but can we not discuss my sex life until I've been awake for at least twenty minutes?”

“What sex life?” Cassie laughed, a little too loudly, and you hurried to shush her again. “I'll shut up,” she promised, continuing on, “but all I'm saying is you look like you could use it.”

With one more conspiratorial giggle, she left, walking ahead of you down the bright hallway. You groaned inwardly, knowing she was right but also that there was nothing you could do about it. 

You went into the bathroom and splashed cold water on your face.

The day seemed to drag on worse than it ever had. You tried to remind yourself to be grateful; that you were lucky enough to have been selected as a member of the small crew in the first place, and that your mission was important to the fate of mankind. But it all felt so trivial when you couldn't focus on anything other than the building feeling of dissatisfaction that ached between your legs.

Talking about Capa last night really hadn't helped things. He was all you could think about as you tried in vain to get your work done. Twice, you caught yourself making mistakes in your calculations as your mind started to drift elsewhere.

What gave him the right to walk around in those tank tops, showing off his perfect arms and chiseled shoulders - that's what you wanted to know. And why did he even have such sexy arms to begin with? He was a physicist, for god's sake. He sat in his lab all day doing nothing that should have given him such infuriatingly noticeable forearm definition. 

Capa had a habit of putting his hands on his hips or in his pockets while he talked, and of running his fingers over his lips when he was thinking. Somehow, everything he did seemed to make a couple of thin veins poke just below his skin, as if to tease you into thinking what he'd look like holding you up against a wall. These were all little things you had noticed - found it impossible not to, actually - and they drove you crazy. Being cooped up was one thing, but being cooped up with Robert Capa was a whole other problem.

Cora was right, though. He was unapproachable at best and actively self-isolating at worst. Capa was the pariah of the crew, and whether or not he intended to be, acting that way made him come across as kind of rude. But to you, that only added to the appeal. The idea of getting with a guy who was so aloof made your fantasies run wild.

That night, you decided to take matters into your own hands. You slipped into your small room, dimmed the lights to thirty percent power, and shrugged out of your shirt and pants. 

This was nothing you hadn't done before; it wasn't exactly groundbreaking stuff to masturbate when you were horny. For weeks now, though, it hadn’t really been enough to scratch the itch that seemed to grab hold of you whenever you were around Capa. But it dulled the ache, and for now that was the best you could hope for.

Your bed was more of a bunk, recessed partially into the wall. You laid down on the springy mattress and sighed as your fingers slipped beneath the waistband of your underwear. You were still in your panties and bra, feeling self conscious about stripping all the way down even though you were alone in your room. 

It felt like everybody was living right on top of each other, although luckily your dorm was at the very end of a row, so you only had a neighbor on one side. Unfortunately, that one neighbor just so happened to be Capa. 

Knowing that he was so physically close only added to your frustration as your fingers swept over your clit. But still, it wasn’t like you had a choice about Capa being in the room next to you, and you certainly didn't have anywhere else to do this. Your fingers trailed lower, over your core, and you gasped.

You were already wet. Of course you were; after doing nothing but daydreaming about Capa for practically the entire day, how could you not be? You pictured his face from last night; how he had briefly looked at each one of you as you’d sat around the table with your two friends. The rush that it sent through your veins was electric. Your cheeks felt hot as you imagined him, his eyes holding slight disappointment while he looked at you. 

You weren't sure why that turned you on, but it did. You wanted him to look at you with that soft little frown; his blue eyes piercing through you as if they could see every dirty fantasy that played out behind your own eyelids. 

You sped up, using your fingers to collect some of the wetness that eagerly pooled between your legs, and then bringing them back up to rub at your clit. Slow circles at first, and then desperate with more pressure. Your mattress squeaked, and you hissed, bringing the hand that wasn't touching yourself down to grab at the cotton sheets.

“Fuck,” you whimpered, careful to stay as quiet as you could.

The only sound in the room aside from your moans was the wet noise that greeted you as you stuck two fingers into yourself, not bothering to warm up with just one. You needed this. You needed more, but this was the best you were getting. You curled your fingers, arching your back and daring to let a whisper of his name cross your lips.

A few seconds later, you were stopped by a knock at your door.

You barely had time to pull your fingers out, scrambling to sit up and cover yourself with a blanket as your door slid open. There were no locks, which usually wasn't a problem, except of course at times like this when it really reminded you that you had absolutely no privacy.

You were expecting Cassie - she had a habit of barging in, instead of waiting for you to answer her knock. But instead, you were greeted again by the very face you had been picturing only seconds ago.

“Capa?” 

Your voice felt strangely small in the cramped space. Capa stepped through the door, letting it hiss closed behind him. His face was expressionless, except for the barest hint of that pout that drove you so crazy.

He didn’t answer right away, but took a step closer and leaned up against the wall that separated his room from yours. Then, his lips curled into a smile.

“You really don’t realize how thin these walls are, do you?”

The implication of his words crept up on you, until finally your face was frozen in a look of sheer horror. 

“How much did you hear?” you asked, voice just barely above a whisper.

“Enough.” Capa shifted his weight, pushing himself off of the wall to stand up. “Enough to figure out the answer to that question Corazon asked you last night.”

“You heard that, too?” you groaned.

Capa walked over and sat down on the edge of your bed. Not touching you yet or getting too close, but hovering just out of reach in a way that made your skin tingle and your heart do flips. You had no clue if he was torturing you or inviting you to make the next move.

“D’you always think about me when you touch yourself?” Capa asked, bringing the volume of his voice down to match yours.

He sounded so sexy like that. He must have known what he was doing to you; his eyes were practically glowing with mirth and his lips were still curled into that smile. You shifted uncomfortably.

“I’d… rather not answer that,” you choked out.

Capa’s eyes darkened. No answer was as much of an affirmation as admitting it.

“You should have just asked for my help,” Capa teased. “You obviously need something. And it’s not like I’m twiddling my thumbs over there. Cumming into my own hand got old weeks ago.”

Your whole face burned hot with embarrassment at what he was admitting. And yet, at the same time, you shivered. The blanket you’d haphazardly thrown over yourself only covered your waist, and your bare shoulders were suddenly prickled with goosebumps. 

Finally, Capa reached out and put a warm hand on your shoulder, then dragged it down the side of your arm, taking your bra strap with it.

“Want me to touch you?” he asked.

His voice was low, and you could feel yourself getting pulled down with it. You knew that it would be stupid to do this; sleeping with Capa could only open a Pandora’s box. If it was good, you wouldn’t be able to get off on your own fingers for the rest of your time on the ship. If it was bad, you still had years to spend cramped up together. Your room right next to his in the already-tight quarters. It wasn’t as if you’d be able to avoid him after an awkward hook-up.

Suddenly, though, you realized that you were thinking way too much.

“Yes,” you whispered. 

Capa’s hand trailed farther down your arm; grabbed your wrist. You bit your cheek, wary of making any more noises after his earlier comment. All the crew’s quarters were laid out close together; if you were too loud, the whole ship would hear.

“Tell me what you want me to do to you,” Capa hummed, bringing you close as he leaned in, his lips practically brushing against yours. That seemed like a good enough place to start as any.

“K-kiss me - please,” you whimpered.

Capa’s lips found yours, and the rush that surged through you was almost overwhelming. It had been months since you’d kissed anyone, and the press of his slightly chapped lips against yours was doing more to you than it should have. 

Your mouth opened, and his tongue instantly pushed in. He was moving slow, but with a hunger that sent your mind racing with thoughts of what he could do to you if you asked. You felt Capa’s breath against your face; heard the low moan that vibrated through both of you as it came from the depths of his chest.

“What else?” Capa urged, pulling away. “We both know that’s not all you want.”

You could hardly think straight, much less put together a sentence. Instead, you guided his hand to your chest, and felt as his fingers squeezed. As he did, he leaned back in for another kiss.

You had put Capa’s hand over your bra, but he quickly slipped it under the fabric to rake over your bare skin. His fingers pressed into you, kneading at delicate flesh. You moaned, opening your mouth against his kiss again, and he bit hungrily at your lips.

“So soft,” he murmured, flicking a thumb over your nipple. “But that’s not where you really want me to touch…”

His voice was airy, even as he gripped at you with an intensity that almost hurt. He lowered his rough hand from your breast, and pushed past the blanket still draped over your legs. Teasing at the hem of your panties for only a second, he deepened the kiss as his fingers pushed lower and lower. Finally, he reached the wetness that was still pooling between your legs.

“You’re fucking soaked,” he groaned. You felt your cheeks heat up again. “You really want it that badly?”

“Fuck, Capa,” you whined.

“Want me to touch you like this?” he teased, voice still husky as he pressed one finger into you.

He had barely pushed in the pad of his fingertip, and you were already sinking into the mattress, unable to hold yourself up. Capa added a second finger, then repositioned himself, squeezing into the too-small bed with you to hover over your frame as his fingers roamed deeper. 

“Yes - just like that,” you begged. “Don't stop.”

Capa curled his fingers inside you, and you opened your mouth in a silent gasp. Your eyes had squeezed shut, and when you opened them again, you saw him looking pleased with himself, gazing down at you as you lost your mind over his touch.

“Bet you've thought about me doing this,” he whispered. “Isn't that right?”

“Yes-” Your voice hitched. “Yes- ah- thought about- cumming on your fingers.”

Capa smirked and brought his lips to your ear.

“You're not gonna cum on my fingers.”

He pulled them out of you, and you groaned at the loss. You felt his stubble scrape your cheek as he got up off of you, and you watched, half in a trance, as he took off his boxers. You hadn't even noticed until now, but he was just in his underwear and a t-shirt. He pulled the shirt off, too, and then went about removing the last of your clothes. 

You suddenly had the urge to cover yourself; like you now had too much on display even though Capa had already been watching your face twist in pleasure while he was knuckle-deep in you. You brought your arms up to cover your chest, but Capa gently brushed them away.

“Don't be shy; it's nothing I haven't already imagined,” he winked.

Again, the implications had you almost slack-jawed. You had no idea if it was true or if he was just teasing you, but you really didn't care.

“Let me show you what I've thought about,” Capa went on.

He took your hand and brought it to his hard cock, wrapping your fingers around it. He sighed a little as you touched him, softly, and the sound sent another shiver down your spine.

“C’mon - wanna feel you,” Capa said, his eyes half-hooded. “Use your hand. Squeeze me.”

Your heart fluttered as you followed his instructions; tightening your grip on his shaft until he was groaning above you. You gave him a few tentative pumps.

“So good,” Capa groaned.

The dull ache had returned between your legs; you were still missing the touch of his fingers. Even though you were happy to touch him as well, you needed the friction. You started to squirm, rubbing your legs together.

“Impatient,” Capa laughed. “Don't worry - m’not gonna tease you too much longer.”

His mouth dipped to your neck, pressing a kiss along your collarbone. Your hand flexed, and Capa groaned deeply again. The sound was enough to send you reeling; you thought you might come from his voice alone if he didn't hurry up.

“Stop teasing,” you begged. Breathless, and fully aware of just how desperate you sounded.

“I guess we've both waited long enough, huh?” Capa chuckled.

Your hand relaxed, and Capa’s came up to guide himself, hovering right at the space where you wanted him, but not pushing in just yet.

“Be quiet now,” Capa reminded you, and he kissed you as he started to press in. “Wouldn’t want anybody to hear you.”

“I’m not upset or anything,” he said. “And besides, your friend over there knows it’s not true, so…”

He left, taking with him all the air in the room. Cassie and Cora stared at each other, eyes wide in disbelief, and then pointed their gaze at you.

i immediately went back to rewatch ep 1 for the third time because i just love it 👉🏼👈🏼

i love that we didn't keep the pace of ep 1 but instead got more into establishing all the moving parts (even though i'm not sure i've pieced them together yet)

- pavel's acting is insane. his microexpressions, his voice, his EYES. my attention is 100% on him whenever he's on screen

- his fond exasperation when it comes to charlie is SO endearing. he's already fallen for him so hard. i'm bracing myself for the inevitable downfall but that preview........ my HEART

- that flashback was painful as hell but now we know tony's babe's abusive foster dad so this isn't just about a conglomerate wanting power in the field but about tony wanting to take revenge (?) on babe or wanting to get him back "home" so. this situation is fucked

- i've already adopted jeff. if anything happens to him, i'm gonna burn it all down. i'm 👁️ re: his tension with alan (mainly bc of the intro and preview) and i'm here for it. they could be cute-cute

- not sure what charlie and jeff are plotting (not sure they fully know either lmao) but i'm not convinced charlie is working for tony anymore. or maybe he is, but not as his end-goal. i feel like he might be playing both sides for a yet unknown goal

Olivia Rodrigo's shortlisted for an Oscar for Best Original Song. LFG!!! TS is gagging for that thing, imagine if she gets nominated and wins lol. The meltdown incoming. That girl could easily down the line go for an EGOT. She can make a documentary, host SNL or write a song for a TV series to win an Emmy and girlie pops has enough vocal and acting chops to star in a musical and go for a Tony. She's only gonna get better with time. I think Billie's gonna take it though. It would be the 2nd one for her. And Taylor's probably gonna go ahead and try to campaign her tour DVD for the Best Documentary next year (the eligibility period for this year ended on Oct. 2 and it also doesn't fall into eligibility rules).

The Special Rules Section, Part B, states: “Works that are essentially promotional or instructional are not eligible, nor are works that are essentially unfiltered records of performances.” -Variety

Wouldn't be surprised if the Academy caves in and changes current guidelines so the ratings go up. If they do, Beyonce's film also becomes eligible. I'm no Beyonce fan but I've seen both hers and Taylor's films and let me tell you, if there would be only 2 options to pick a winner, I'd blindly go for Beyonce's. The performance level is better, the cinematography and editing were better, sound was better, visual effects and lighting were better, styling was better, there was behind the scenes footage and a new song during the end credits. Taylor's film looked like it was done last minute and edited in a hurry on your mum's old laptop. No offense, babes but it wasn't your best work.

Ugh, the lady is so desperate for an EGOT that it's funny. You're no Viola Davis, JHud, Barbra, Liza Minelli, Rita Moreno, Helen Hayes or Audrey Hepburn. Those women are/were TALENTED. Well, Viola, Audrey and Helen Hayes don't/didn't sing but they won for spoken word aka voice acting. The only way for her to win a Tony would be writing a musical or a play. But to do that you have to have multiple writing tropes for more than 1 perspective. Her short film dialogues were trash, let's be real. I wonder what's gonna happen with her directorial Searchlight project. Sure, it'll make lots of money if we even see the day of its release but I doubt she'll be considered for any awards for that. The only options that'll happen are a. to get the ratings up b. for shits and giggles. The only theatrics she can pull off are her childish tantrums in the media and shocked expressions at award shows/TK's throwball games. And even for that she has to have some liquid courage in her system otherwise she's as bland and pasty as they come. Poor thing, even with all that money and fame she still has no rizz.

Anyway, 2024 is new gen's pop girls' year and you can't convince me otherwise. Dua and Billie have new albums coming, Olivia's going on tour, Tyla's on the rise. Hoping for the OR sweep at the Grammys as well. LFG!

Ooh this is a good question! I did talk about this very briefly when I was on episode 40 of Kick Out 2.99 which you can listen to here, I don't actually recommend an entire 2 hour podcast for like my 30 second answer when this question came up but I have to plug it if I can lol.

I'm honestly not sure I have a strong pick this year? I said in the podcast I knew people were saying Utami, and my answer at the time was, I guess that's conceivable? I'm still not saying I think it's like, impossible, but I've since seen people's actual arguments for why they think Utami is the obvious winner and now I mostly just think people on twitter can't follow a story.

I'm trying not to predict anything too strongly bc I'm already too emotionally invested in Tam's title run, and also bc I have a tendency to fantasy book my whole preferred story, and then even if what happens is really good I'm just bummed it's not what I wanted.

So I guess my firmest pick for a win right now is maybe Mayu? The 5 Star is less of a focus this year then it has been historically; they're not stopping their regular big shows while it's going on and lots of people, even people with belts, aren't in the tournament at all. I went into it feeling like this year the winner isn't going to be the person who beats Tam for the title, and the low-keyness of the 5 Star has kind of furthered that feeling for me. Which is fine, I don't mind a more relaxed tournament watching experience at all, but it doesn't really feel, like, the 5 Star is THE thing happening during the Summer, it's just one of the things happening during the Summer.

But anyway I'm kind of feeling Mayu bc being the first person to win the tournament for a second time would still be a big accolade for her, and the match with Tam would be a big one, but then Tam could beat her and that would be a big step for their story that wouldn't involve a belt change. Also could see Suzu doing well, maybe making it to the finals if not Mayu just bc I feel like they'll want to push her at least a little since they finally signed her. Also maybe Anou, in story she seems to want to challenge Tam but can't quite say it, and irl she's a huge get for them, but she isn't quite signed yet so idk they'd want to give her quite that much. Anou vs Suzu would also be a very emotional finals matchup given their history. Basically I have a lot of people I'm like, "sure, I could see it" for, with no one I want to write off completely and also no one who feels like a clear frontrunner.

As far as stories to watch out for, for individual matchups I think the big ones are pretty easy to spot this year. On house shows they've got them pretty spaced out acting as the main events, so that the main is usually at least a medium-big match and the rest are the matches just happening bc it's a round-robin tournament. I think there are two Korakuen Hall shows scheduled with tournament matches that are set to be more top to bottom big matches, and of course on the night of the final block matches it's all big matches that will either be important for the characters, the standings, or both. I won't get into every individual big match bc this is going to be long enough as it is.

As for individual stories, you can read my translation of the 5 Star press conference here, and I am who I am so here is my read on everyone's story based on the 5 Star press conference and their first few matches:

Red Stars

Hanan: She just wants to win any match, and maybe even not finish at the bottom of her block. She's not really a rookie any more but having just finished high school she's very much at the bottom.

Mariah: Wants to prove that despite being a foreigner, she still belongs in Stardom.

Mina: Mina's moved on from the white belt and is now aiming for the red, and wants to take it from Tam specifically. Winning the 5 Star would be all about getting to Tam for her. She already has what should be a big win for her over Mirai, but described her feelings as mixed bc she knows it should be big but she's moved on and doesn't care about the white belt now, that's how focused she is on Tam and the red.

AZM: Always puts on good performances with lackluster or middling actual results. She... doesn't seem particularly driven to do any more than that this year? She said she wants to build her conviction, which does feel like what she's lacking, but we'll see how it goes. Promised Tam she would earn a title shot against her, so she is aiming for the red belt, but definitely an underdog in that "division".

Mirai: Having won the Cinderella Tournament this year, she has the opportunity to win both of the year's singles tournaments, something that's only been accomplished before by Toni Storm. She doesn't seem to be totally prepared for the target on her back that the white belt represents and I suspect she'll end up in a bit over her head.

Momo: Hates everyone, wants to hurt you.

Anou: Being in the 5 Star is extremely meaningful to her bc she loves Stardom and loves the tournament; she said she's watched it every year. Also wants a match with Tam but can't say it out loud, and a tournament win would help with that. Doesn't have many personal connections outside of CA, Giulia, and Suzu, so a lot of her matches will be building those up. I think she could go far.

Maika: With Himeka's retirement, and the rest of her faction holding the Artists belts together, she sort of needs to prove herself as a singles competitor. Says she wants to win the red belt AND the IWGP belt and then get a singles match against a big name mens' wrestler, but setting goals bigger than what's gonna happen isn't exactly something new for Maika. Her matches should be pretty much all good to great though.

Utami: Finally figured out how to be a good leader (maybe) and then went to find herself in America. But she's also trying to turn back the clock, recreating her look from when she won the 5 Star in 2020. Just last November she already tried to turn the clock back to when she was champ against Syuri and failed, so the question this time is is what she's found since then enough to make up the difference? Is she just harkening back to when she was on top to make a statement, or is she actually trying to go back to how she was back then and possibly dooming herself to failure?

Giulia: As she won last year, has the chance to be not only the first person to win the tournament twice but the first to win it twice in a row. However between being Artist champ and NJPW Strong Women's champ and seeming to have been relatively content to drop the belt to Tam she doesn't seem super motivated to actually earn a title shot from winning the tournament, and it would just feel weird to give her one this soon as well.

Blue Stars

Ami: In some ways Ami has progressed since she swept the qualifier tournament to get in last year. She's won her first title, she didn't have to earn entry into the tournament this year. However in other ways she's also stalled out a little, spending lots of time playing the third member of God's Eye and struggling to maintain the momentum she had last year. Ami is less aiming for the total win than aiming for that next step to level up.

Natsuko: Absolutely furious and aiming for a singles match with Utami in the finals more than an actual tournament win. Not even remotely over losing Saki from Oedo Tai and completely unwilling to place the blame on the one person whose fault it is, herself.

Hazuki: Came in wanting to prove herself as the definite successor to Mayu and get a strong record throughout the tournament, having set a new record for longest 5 Star winning streak last year and then choking in the bottom half. She immediately lost to Mayu in her first match though, and is now confused and trying to figure out what she's missing as a singles competitor.

Natsupoi: I expect really big things from Natsupoi out of the tournament, and sort of didn't list her as a possible winner only bc 1) she faces Tam on the last night of block matches so the timing and booking would be a little clunky and 2) her goal is still the white belt, not the red. I think Poi is someone who will show a lot and have a lot of significant individual matches and maybe earn some title shots despite not actually winning. She wants the white belt so, so bad still, and doesn't want to be outshone by Tam, but also kind of loves her so much she doesn't really want to fight her right now, so she's very focused on just the white belt. Also, outside of the story, her popularity is white hot right now so it just wouldn't be surprising to see them give her a lot.

Starlight Kid: Pissed off for the same Oedo Tai reasons as everyone else, she's kind of in the same boat as AZM of always performing well and not really getting the results to match. She's another one who's more aimed at the white belt than the red.

Suzu: Did extremely well in her first 5 Star last year, this time she's signed with the company to boot. The question is really if she can do that little bit better than last year to actually make it to the finals. A lot of her individual matchups are still about building relationships and rivalries. Has stumbled a little bit out of the gate but is still determined.

Syuri: Is focused on earning a shot at "a certain belt", which is probably the red or the IWGP. Pretty focused but honestly not feeling particularly fired up to me, I'd be a little surprised narratively if she actually wins. I sort of suspect her focus will end up being more on Saki and God's Eye stuff.

Mayu: I already laid out why I think she's a solid frontrunner earlier, and she wasn't at the press conference and hasn't cut any promos about the tournament so there... isn't really any more info than that to be gleaned, story-wise. One additional aspect is that in the past she had talked about wanting to retire at 30 and she turned 30 in February, so maybe that got extended because of her movie, and of course I'll always hope joshi wrestlers just decide to actually wrestle into their 50s, but there is a chance this is one of Mayu's last chances if she's still thinking about hanging it up soon.

Tam: Is, of course, in the tournament as the red belt champion. Wants to improve on making it to the finals last year and actually win this year. The red belt champion has never won before, so she would be making history, and no one's ever even made it to the finals two years in a row, so if she makes it that far even that would be big. However she hasn't really indicated there's anyone in particular she wants to choose to challenge her, and, well, the red belt champ never wins, so. There's also the aspect hanging over her entire run with the belt of her saying she'll probably retire after she loses it. I certainly hope it's just a work, but it could be the truth, so that sort of. Hangs over everything she does at this point, being bad for my mental health.

Phew, okay there, I think that is like, all of my 5 Star takes, at least for now. Also, knowing Rossy, it's just as likely he goes with one of the options I already said I really don't think is happening bc the booking would be clumsy bc he just is a shitty booker and is perfectly happy to once again let the wrestlers pick up the pieces and figure out how to turn it into a compelling story, it wouldn't be anything new.

Despite how that sounds though I am really excited for the tournament as a whole; I kind of think the winner this year isn't really the most important part, and I'm really looking forward to all the stuff that'll happen before we get there.

I'll be honest, I have one (1) char with an animal (not a special one) and I am already annoyed because I keep forgetting the dog exists. Nah, gonna stick to found family here. I can leave them outside the door without getting accused of animal abuse.

Horror or Romance

I guess if I HAD to - romance. Because I am easily scared. But the thought of a pure romance without any fantasy elements (and let's be honest, without a disproportionate amount of blood) is not very exciting.

Now the romantic subplot between angst, drama and the world ending? Gimme gimme.

Hard Magic System or Soft Magic System

Soft magic system, mostly because I am so over worldbuilding, and I just cram in whatever I need in the moment. Oh, I need a healer who can't control his magic? Done, because I said so. Next!

Stand-alone or Series

I love stand-alones that tie together. In the same world, perhaps with recurring chars, either in a major or minor role, but each story stands on its own.

That kinda solves the problem of barely finding the motivation to read one (1) book without subscribing to a series, but also having more if I love it.

I guess setting, because I don't know how to describe characters. Most lists of "words you can use! :)" make me wanna cry. He has a... face. A human face. And hair. Let's move on.

For the setting, I can at least sneak little details in, and sometimes people get distracted and don't notice I have no idea what I am talking about.

First Draft or Final Draft

First draft here, because getting that done is an amazing feeling - editing, not so much. Especially because I never feel like I have a real, final, never gonna touch again draft. There's always... something.

Also, since I ignore all the advice about not editing while drafting, my first drafts aren't that bad. I rarely change content, just fix the prose.

eden's last hockey game | cutter and eden

this is a mix of angst and fluff so I hope you guys enjoy!

so cutter and the boys won gold in Germany and he managed to get a flight to wisconsin that just barely gave him enough time to get to the rink for the start of eden's game.

she has no idea.

luckily, he flight is not delayed and actually lands in wisconsin early giving him a little extra time to get there. he gets there with about ten minutes to spare and sneaks in (only after stopping to get flowers for eden), covering his face as best he can to stay hidden and not alert people that he's there.

he walks in as the puck is dropping and applauds himself for the epic timing. he sits in the back corner of the rink and smiles every time eden goes on the ice.

she manages to score 2 goals and helps secure the win for USA hockey.

cutter smiles seeing them celebrate and is so proud of eden. he's also a little sad for her bc he knows that this is her last ever game. he finds ellen and Jim in the stands shortly after the team leaves the ice. they both smile seeing cutter approach them. ellen gasps, "cutter! you're here!"

"I had to make it back. it's her last game."

Jim smiles at his only daughter's boyfriend, "she's gonna be so happy to see you. congratulations by the way!"

"thank you. I'm gonna go wait by the locker room to surprise her." cutter says. they nod and he walks off towards the usa locker room. he leans against the wall, smiling to himself, as he awaits his girlfriend.

a few of the girls smile at him as they walk by knowing that eden is gonna be so happy to see him. he pulls his phone to text rutger and Brady, "they won! I'm so proud of her. I'll see you guys when you get back."

he hears the door open so he puts his phone away and looks up to see eden, with her face buried in her phone. he smiles and says, "hey angel."

she looks up and sees her boyfriend of 4 months standing in front of her with flowers. she shrieks and runs into his arms. he picks her up and holds her tight to him. she says into his neck, "I can't believe you're here!"

"of course baby. I wouldn't miss your last game for anything."

"I know it just doesn't feel right because jack thinks I'm a disappointment for hanging up my skates." a sob rack through her body again. cutter can feel her shaking and it makes him so sad for eden. "I know eden but what jack thinks doesn't matter. it only matters what you think. are you proud of yourself for everything you accomplished while playing hockey?"

oh now that dragula s5 is over i can do my writeup on that too. spoilers for the whole season (and probably show) below the cut

i guess i'll kinda go episode by episode for this.

ep 1: fun way to start off, love when they make them walk around in the woods n shit in full drag. everyone meeting for the first time was fun as well big personalities right off the bat. correct winner and correct bottom 2. i loved the extermination challenge on this one, hardcore as fuck.

ep 2: i will say i am not a fan of contestants (of any show) returning for no real reason. however i very much enjoyed jay kay on the show so i can't say i'm too mad about it. VERY correct winner, throb nailed that floorshow. i do not remember if cynthia deserved bottom2 off the top of my head but correct extermination. unfortunate because onyx is a cool performer just a little too... shy/quiet/etc for the show. there is no amount of money you could have paid me to do this extermination i do NOT do bugs </3 but i do love a gross one.

ep3: this was the ghost episode which was fun. by this point this season had already surpassed s4 for me. loved jay kay's bellhop look, deserved the win especially after the rough start. i remember throb doing really well this one too. as for the bottom 3 this ep. clearly there is something about orkgotik's drag that i just do not get. the entire time i thought their looks were messy and i didn't get the concepts but they were PRAISED by the judges (up until here) for it all. like ep1 when they were called to stay on stage i legit thought they were bottom 3 not top 3. obviously this is just a me thing bc other people online seem to really like them too. i forgot about satanna so i'm assuming her going home here was right. another good extermination with the rats but fuck that looked miserable. i would do it but i would not be happy about it LOL

ep4: ok it seems like the fanbase doesn't care for monsters of rock but i LOVE monsters of rock, and having this broken up into 2 episodes felt like a bonus for me. fantasia absolutely deserved the win here, she really is an excellent performer. i know a lot of ppl thought the whole time she wasn't giving monster (myself included at a few points) but you cannot deny her stage presence at all. jarvis and jay kay definitely did deserve bottom 2 and jarvis did lose that lipsync which was unfortunate but jay really beat his ass lol. jarvis's death scene may also have been one of the best in the show so far.

ep5: part 2 of monsters of rock. ok so i enjoyed this half less LMAO i do not care about songwriting on the show/rpdr, most of the time its mid at best; but i do get that its also how a lot of artists make money. but then again not every drag performer should be a recording artist lol. ANYWAY on to the actual floorshow. orkgotik's band NAILED it and they def deserved the win. fantasia's band was for the most part pretty good (or at least fantasia herself was good LOL) but man... you could tell niohuru had never performed like that before. i also forgot anna was on this season and it was way past her time to go. i like the tattoo exterminations, but it is pretty clear they use those to get rid of whichever contestant they want to get rid of. i think anna held her own in this extermination comparatively speaking between the two tattoo designs. i liked the tattoo challenge from s3 the best where they got to pick a tattoo for the other competitor.

ep6: i BARELY remember this episode oop. had to go to the wiki to get the synopsis of what happened. i thought it was strange the boulets said the floorshows weren't "what they were expecting". ok if everyone "missed the mark" then clearly your instructions weren't good enough. i remember the looks being cool but the actual "selling" being kind of.. forced? idk. not as much fun as i was hoping it would have been. i do not remember anyones looks this episode, but i do remember blackberri's win being deserved. i do not remember if fantasia deserved bottom but jay kay definitely did, and he gave up in the extermination! so yeah! its just pregnancy simulators that shouldn't be that difficult especially when you have contestants bungee jumping and eating maggots.

ep7: oooohhhhhh mygod. this was a great episode. i know they also said the runways "weren't what they were expecting" again but like i said before that's on them. i thought these runways were cool as fuck. blackberri and throb had really cool looks but hooolllyyyyyy shit niohuru. niohuru blew me the fuck away with that floorshow. i literally sat there eyes locked on the screen jaw open. she deserved to win the season on that alone. holy fuck. cynthia and orkgotik were definitely deserving of bottom 2 but man i loved cynthia she was so much fun even if her runways weren't the best. personally would have sent orkgotik home here but like i said i'm clearly missing something about their drag that everyone else loves.

ep8: this one i didn't care for but it certainly wasn't a bad episode. i think i'm just unfamiliar with the floorshow theme and that's probably why it didn't impact me the same. again i would not have given orkgotik the win here, i would have given it to throb. the extermination challenge for this one was fun i like it when they let them straight up fight. this was unfortunately fantasia's time, but i think she did better than a lot of people expected, i think she showed she has the versatility to be any kind of performer.

ep9: last supper, which is always a good time. loved whoever it was pulling a vape out in the middle of the episode fgfhjdsk i do not care for on-screen relationships but i know a lot of people wanted a clearer answer wrt niohuru/orkgotik.

ep10: ok so finale. i have to say i did NOT like final 4 last season and i did NOT like it this season. there is no reason to have 4 out of your 11 contestants as potential winners. i would have cut orkgotik or blackberri (but really orkgotik) and made it a final 3. i also hate that they went in a different order (filth/horror/glamor as opposed to glamor/filth/horror) bc seasons 1-3 went in the same order. i also have to say i wasn't particularly blown away by anyone's finale looks. i thought throb did a good job overall, if we were picking a winner based off the final floorshow alone it would have been throb. i thought niohuru's and blackberri's looks were all around kinda mid, niohuru's takeout look was very good though. i actually liked orkgotik's horror look for this one! only took me to the finale to get on board with them then the boulets immediately turn around and say they didn't like that one dfgfhjdksa either way, niohuru was the clear winner of the season and she definitely earned it. its also nice to have a non-american, asian trans woman in the winner's circle.

overall, i would rank the seasons 2 > 3 > 5 > titans > 1 >>>>> 4 at this point in time (i had a lot of issues with season 4) but its also been a minute since i've watched season 1. not ranking these on performers but in terms of how the season was produced. i think they've improved a LOT since season 4/titans alone, let alone season 1, but i think there's still some room for improvement. and now i'm getting bored writing this so i'm ending it here lol

🔎2. I absolutely love all of the FIB missions, I Fought the Law, Hood Safari and Bury the Hatchet, but if I had to pick one it would be By the Book. It is super controversial and shocking, it's unique, all my favorite characters come together, it reveals the essence of Michael and Dave’s deal and the plot of the game. This is the most memorable and interesting mission for me.

💬9. There are a lot of short funny memetic quotes in the game, they always make me smile. I love when Devin does a super evil thing and then says "Namaste", it's sooo funny, he's so awful with his fake spirituality.

As for the "deep" quote, I won't be original and say that "Surviving is winning, Franklin". This quote fully reveals the reasons for Michael's morally terrible actions, allows us to better understand him and maybe justify him. As opposed to the heroic position shown in films and imposed by morality, where you have to die for the sake of something, or you are a coward and selfish, where love or friendship is worth dying for, or where it is fashionable to live brightly and die young, this sounds more realistic and beautifully complements the deceitful world of the Vinewood dream shown in GTA V. Michael tells us that life is actually more valuable than we think, and the fear is stronger than we think when we are safe. We can condemn him and think that we would definitely have acted differently, but when we find ourselves face to face with death, the will to live can be stronger than all our beliefs, we do everything to survive and be safe, and only then do we realize at what cost this was given to us. Also this kind of philosophy is closer to the primitive order of society or the wild, where it doesn’t matter how terrible the things you’ve done, as long as you survive and can have children, you are a winner of evolution, and this is quite unusual for a person who likes to sit on the couch and watch movies, and also tries to be a good family man. This reveals Michael's wild nature, which may have attracted Trevor. This quote makes Michael a more complex and interesting character, whether we agree with him or not.

But I would say that I am very similar to the typical Los Santos resident. Lol, saw someone answering a long ass ask where they detailed why they dislike Max and it's honestly so funny. The only valid reason they had was Max winning, which is fair. People always hate a winner so I understand but the other reasons were funny. One reason was because "Max always makes up excuses for his fans behaviours and never calls them out". Like Lewis does? This was the funniest to me that "Max can never be happy for someone else when he has a bad race". There's literally a compilation of Max congratulating other after his bad race. When Charles won in Austria, Max was the happiest person in the world, even more then Charles. There were other points but I don't remember them.

Arriving together and leaving separately was Deuxmoi's initial report, a submission from an anonymous source published on her IG.

In the podcast, of course, Deuxmoi leaves out the "leaving separately" part, because her modus operandi is to publish completely unverified and anonymous rumors, spin everything in the most sensationalist way possible and see if she can start a feedback loop in the social media echo chamber. She thinks she's covering herself legally by posting regular disclaimers that nothing is verified, that a lot of the information on her site is outright fiction (some of it malicious plants), that she doesn't stand behind anything on her site, and that it's all "just for fun" -- whereupon she then publishes the most sensational gossip she can come up with, some of it potentially quite damaging to her targets.

Sooner or later, she's going to get sued and shut down. Before that happens, she really ought to clean up her act. She shouldn't publish anything for which the source is not willing to go on the record. Short of that, she should at least pick up the phone, run a story past the people involved, and publish the response with her original story. But she almost never does that. She's totally irresponsible and toxic. She does real harm to people who don't deserve it. Anyhow:

I do have an interest in movies and had an eye on the SAG nominations. Evan and Haley were both at the SAG Awards dinner. They were both nominees and did the red carpet thing for that. If you glance at the SAG Awards on various social media, Evan has a small number of other photos and short videos at the main event with other people, but none with Haley. I.e., he was a typical guest, a very pleasant seeming guy and a nominee who didn't win.

Haley's footprint is much bigger. In addition to being a nominee, she was a winner as part of The White Lotus ensemble cast, so she got to take home a statue. Back to the red carpet and numerous photos and video interviews for that. (None with Evan.) In addition, she was a presenter: more photos. (None with Evan.)

Bookending all of that, she had also been named a "SAG Ambassador," which means she was part of the official meet and greet team. She got there early and was glued to the red carpet area even when she wasn't on it, as well as doing behind the scenes stuff. She was doing her job, working the crowd instead of mostly hanging with her own friends, and is all over the SAG Awards social media. I wasn't there so I don't know, but I have been involved on the planning and staffing side of more events than I want to remember. (Not Hollywood or other entertainment industry events; think business and politics, but big events.) It would be very typical at an event like this for HBO, which sponsored one of the afterparties, to run a small shuttle bus from the main event venue to the afterparty venue, which in this case was 3-4 miles away. This is a good idea if alcohol is being served. It's also a good idea if you are hoping to get a lot of people at your afterparty. A lot of people will just want to go home after the dinner. Or just go down to the hotel bar with a couple of friends. Transportation and/or parking at the afterparty will be an issue, and you will lose a lot of the crowd if you don't provide a shuttle. So for all we know -- and more importantly, for all Deuxmoi knows -- Evan and Haley "arriving together" means arriving on the same shuttle bus with ten other people. Or maybe they got to talking at the main event, were enjoying themselves, and shared a cab to the afterparty. In DeuxmoiWorld, this would be "hooking up."

Did Haley and Evan hang out enough at the afterparty to catch the eyes of the gossips? Well, they're both adults, they're both single, they're both entitled to a private life, and if they hit it off at a large event and afterparty and enjoyed each other's company, that's fine. Did they know each other before the SAG Awards? I have no idea; I've never seen them linked. Did they enjoy each other's company at the SAG Awards and the afterparty? Apparently, and that's fine. And then, per Deuxmoi's initial report, they left separately.

Deuxmoi will try to fan this into something big, but be aware that, at least at this point, she has absolutely nothing to report except that two people were seen in friendly conversation at a crowded event (again, the afterparty) attended by many other people. In Deuxmoi lingo, that's "hooking up."

I feel like they barely won omg! That was crazy! I know someone has to win and someone has to lose but it always makes me sad hearing how hurt they are to lose because they really gave it their all and tried their best. So it really sucks when your best isn't enough.

Oh, the blue team put the barrel in...I wonder if it will work this time. If they aren't smart about it, it could cause them to lose. Yep...dang I wonder if they can turn it around? I don't particularly have a favorite so I'm just rooting for both teams each time haha.

I mean...okay that's one way to do it lol but stopping them isn't gonna necessarily mean you win if you can't fit enough bags in there with the barrel in the way. Bruh, see you wasting out the clock and can't even get any bags over there lol. It's good when you can work as a team, I like that they are all working good together and feeling camaraderie.

Another school story I have:

In English we had a debate and I was put on a team of like three other kids, Levi, Chioma, Ryder, and Corbin, and I know none of these kids and Levi was the only other one there the first day of the debate and neither of us are very. motivated with school stuff like I have an essay due on tuesday and i haven't even picked a topic (it's thursday)

so chioma and ryder show up the next day and we fill them in on the assignment and stuff. Corbin comes in and he is Sick so we're all like ew get the fuck away. So since we banned corbin and the other two have only been there for like half of the assignment we decide to just wing the debate

The debate in question: should the legal drinking age in the US be changed I was on the no side (i don't actually care lol) and a group of girls who I sorta know were on the yes side. my group's arguments were about underage drinking levels, violence, and drunk driving. Theirs were that keeping it the same diminishes the thrill of breaking the law, that kids will find a way, and that it's lower in other countries

And those girls are LITERAL DEBATE STUDENTS. they are IN debate class. They have gone to STATE. Our group was "you could not make me do schoolwork if you tried" 1 and 2, has-never-talked-in-class-before, and Sick Child, and Ryder, and we were all winging it

The day comes for the debate and the group of girls (i dont remember their names uhh emily, kaitlyn, shaylee, and someone else) have everything done and ready they look confident i'm like whatever the prize for winning this debate is a hi chew i hate hi chews. My group has a pack of gum and a crumpled script, and i'm like alright im ready let's make a fool out of myself it won't be too bad

AND WE BOMB the WHOLE thing. Levi starts, he's talking about abuse, he says "they'll get domestically violenced" and im sitting across the other group with a finger gun to my head because emily thinks im funny and that's all i rlly care about. as long as someone thinks im funny

Corbin goes next, and he can't get through it because he keeps forgetting his lines and stumbling through it and coughing and shit and im supposed to go last so all i have to do is sit there and quietly pass away

Ryder goes third and he does an alright job. I'm thinkin we could win with the help of Ryder Not Sucking

The other group goes to say THEIR points and they're BEAUTIFUL. They have statistics, they speak clearly, make a joke here and there, it goes great

Then we have the counterarguments and I'm shaking my head at emily because we do NOT have those written and I still don't have to talk until the conclusion. fifteen minutes left in class i wanna GO HOME before I have to talk

So we don't have counterarguments and so Chioma who has to say all of them sort of just makes shit up for a while and at this point i am genuinely smacking my head against the table because i can feel everyone not part of that particular debate staring at ME who hasn't said anything yet.

Their counterarguments go wonderfully. I WANT them to win.

They say their conclusion the teacher gets out his little notepad and then it's my turn and im like Fuck It we're already losing so I ignore the paragraph I had written and said "in conclusion underage drinking is bad" and chioma looks at me like THAT'S WHAT YOU WROTE??? like gorl at least i had something. i just didn't say it. we're losing anyway

So the teacher goes around the rest of the classroom to the other kids that were watching us and he's tallying up the votes for either side and while he's doing that the other group was laughing at us for our shitty debate and tbh yeah that was fair actually

my teacher finishes taking the votes and goes to the front of the class and does a drumroll. I shout out "WHAT ARE WE DRUMROLLING FOR. WE KNOW WHO WON" and while the class is drumrolling he announces the winner and he fucking points at my group so for half a second it went DEAD fucking quiet

and i'm the one that goes "what the fuck." and then i swear to u the class blew up. imploded. it was like woodstock '99. the other group was flipping chairs. levi was dancing on the table. Ryder was hiding under the desk like it was an earthquake drill. Corbin was coughing because he was a sick victorian child who spent his life working in the mines. I could see the question marks around Chioma's head. The other group and I were SCREAMING demanding a recount, pounding on the desks and everything. the teacher is cackling. he quiets us, we go quiet again. the vote was a 20-1 on our favor. room implodes again. end post

my completely biased and official rating of every keyblade ever:

Kingdom Key: absolute classic. excellent design for the like, mascot keyblade. very simple, vaguely key shaped. i hate the mouse head though it's so stupid and makes no sense. and i hate mickey. 9/10 minus a point for the weird mickey keychain

Oathkeeper: wonderful. amazing. never boring. excellent design love the heart and wings and all the significance. and that the keychain is kairi's charm? terrific. 10/10

Oblivion: brilliant. awesome. phenomenal. again excellent design the wings and chains and purple crystal are absolutely perfect. love the crown keychain. 10/10

Ultima Weapon 1: literally just a sword with some filigree on it. nice. too much yellow and i don't like the weird cyan gradient on the guard. 7/10

Kingdom Key D: d for disgusting. i don't have any other comments i just hate it. 2/10

Keyblade of Hearts: yeah that sure is an anti-keyblade. love the simplicity and the heart in the negative space of the teeth. and that it doesn't have a keychain, that fueled a lot of theories for 12yo me 8/10

Lady Luck: i think i don't like this one bc to get it u need to use a white trinity but you can't do that until near the end and i have way cooler blades to use. the design is pretty ok, don't really get the card keychain tho. 5/10

Olympia: oh the sight of this one makes me irritated because the kh1 strategy guide uses this in one of the pictures for the fight against possessed riku. it did not help me win. and i hate short keyblades. love the clouds and columns though 7/10

Jungle King: kinda ugly but i appreciate that it looks kinda handmade. also like the butterfly keychain bc it doesn't look like it fits but it Does. also the first good alternate blade u get in the game so. 8/10

Three Wishes: not bad but it doesn't stick out to me either. also doesn't scream agrabah to me but also it does? 6/10

Pumpkinhead: NICE. very long and very cool. the teeth looks like bat wings and a pumpkin so very epic. 9/10

Wishing Star: so pointless i already have pumpkinhead. also short. cute design though i like the gears. 5/10

Crab Claw: i never used this one because it stuck out so ugly in Halloween Town </3 i love blue and crabs though so 8/10

Fairy Harp: I HATE YOU DIE. short and stupid. does NOT remind me of neverland at all. 1/10

Divine Rose: pretty nice but short and lategame. always thought its existence was kinda weird?? like thanks belle but why. i have oblivion. 7/10

Spellbinder: for some reason i really don't like it. i like blue and the circles are neat. the handle looks really painful though. 4/10

Metal Chocobo: kinda ugly lol. love the holes and chocobo keychain. 8/10

Lionheart: oh i am so biased by recoded. absolutely excellent keyblade. design's kind of weird tho where are those lions going. 9/10

Diamond Dust: so i was really confused because i thought this was khux-only or maybe bbs keyblade but apparently it's kh1 final mix only. you know what i got as a reward for fighting the ice titan? sephiroth. you know what i got for fighting sephiroth? NOTHING. it was my favorite khux blade though so grrrr 7/10

One-Winged Angel: grr bark bark final mix again fuck you. kinda weird design though like what is the teeth? a meteor? should've been a wing. nice guard though there's not enough hand room. excellent keychain obviously. 8/10

Ultima Weapon 2: very similar to the first but blue and symmetrical. very good learn from your mistakes. 9/10

Way to Dawn: YEAAAHHHHHHH BOY HERE IT IS PERFECT EXCELLENT GREAT DESIGN WONDERFUL LORE. HAS WINGS. THE EVOLUTION FROM SOUL EATER. THE LACK OF THORNS ON THE HEART. 10/10

Destiny's Embrace: very cute!! my favorite part is the name. i wish it wasn't so like. stereotypically girly though. like you look at the destiny trio's keyblades and can immediately pick out which one is The Girl's. 9/10

Star Seeker: i wanna hate it because it's mickey's/yen sid's but honestly it's so nice. the stars and moons and comets and gradients and colors... wonderful 9/10

Rumbling Rose: oof. weird and ugly and gross. keychain looks like a ladybug from far away. 3/10

Hero's Crest: bring the clouds back. i don't really get the design but i like columns. 5/10

Monochrome: super cute!! i don't like Timeless River but this fits it so well and has cute hit effect. 8/10

Mysterious Abyss: i always get this one way late in the game so it's always pretty pointless oops lol. also the design doesn't really say atlantica?? 3/10

Follow the Wind: another weird miss but i like this one more. nice wheel shaped guard, and that the keychain is a cursed coin. 6/10

Wishing Lamp: now THIS is the agrabah keyblade. very nice and elegant. looks like the palace! 7/10

Decisive Pumpkin: THIS ONE 😭😭 it's so ugly but it's so strong so i have to use it but it's so ugly. it does look like jack's idea of christmas so points i guess 😭 4/10

Circle of Life: also pretty ugly. and short. sorry simba. 3/10

Sweet Memories: shrek voice it doesn't even have attack. i don't like winnie the pooh so that's definitely influencing me. makes cute noises iirc and looks pretty cute. 4/10

Photon Debugger: this one should look pretty cool but my brain is saying it's bad. i think the giant red ball by the teeth are throwing me off. love the neon blue tho 5/10

Gull Wing: why the weird space in the name. anyway. i really want to love this keyblade bc i love X2 but it's really bad. i'm so sorry YRP kh did you so wrong. excellent keychain choice though. 2/10

Guardian's Soul: MUCH better thank you. auron my beloved <3 the lines are very appealing and i like how simple it appears. also looks like auron's swords. 8/10

Fatal Crest: lol i was so mad when i first saw this because it looked like one of my oc's keyblades. i like it now though, it's a dragon!! pretty neat bro 8/10

Wayward Wind: none of ventus' blades look very ventusy to me. this one looks like an extra training one they had sitting around. cool shape though 5/10

Frolic Flame: NICE. looks like lea's frisbees! i like fire and fire designs so but it's a little awkward looking 8/10

Lost Memory: ok so first off WINGS. EXCELLENT. love that the only color is the heart. very cool and epic but i don't understand why it doesn't have a reverse grip handle. or the pointy bit at the tip. but still 10/10

Void Gear: hiii vanitas :) so anyway in my totally unbiased opinion this is the best keyblade ever obviously. love the gears and red accents and it's just super cool. the eyes and chains... vanitas character development keyblade when <3 10/10

Void Gear (White?): still very cool, love the simple contrast going on. 10/10

No Name: i didn't know this one was also called no name which is kinda lame. but i love the keyblade it's very cool. super glowy and i love the time design. 9/10

Crown Unlimit: I almost really like this one. very neat design, love the crowns and twists and glow. 7/10

Master's Defender: literally so plain and boring. i don't care if that's the point give it some frills. nice design though :/ 7/10

Broken Xblade: love the broken bits and the weird rust color. wish one of the kingdom keys was more broken and i think the top bit should be broken too. 7/10

Wooden Keyblade: sobbing and crying and tears. this is literally so cute and good and i love that it looks like Ends of the earth. or the kingdom key i guess. 10/10

Treasure Trove: i never expect to like this one but it's actually pretty nice :) wish the gems looked like they were spilling from the top and not leaking from the bottom. 8/10

Stroke of Midnight: also surprisingly nice! the guard kinda looks like a pumpkin which is cute. just a very cute design. 8/10

Fairy Stars: rad as hell. absolutely love this design very appealing. like how point the stars are. 9/10

Victory Line: i hate this one. maybe bc i don't like the world. kinda ugly and the teeth look awkward. 3/10

Mark of a Hero: ok we brought the clouds back but the weirdly buff trophy arm fucks this up. the blade is also just kind of a column, nothing going on there. 4/10

Hyperdrive: super cute!! love how the blade looks like laser fire and engine streams. the teeth are weird again though, and the handle looks like a bee 8/10

Pixie Petal: SO much better than fairy harp. this one is very cute and these teeth actually fit with the rest of the design. kinda short though >:/ 7/10

Sweetstack: oh this is so cute. a bunch of ice cream scoops!! why are the teeth oranges and what are some of those flavors. why are cones on the guard soft serve. 8/10

Ultima Weapon bbs: NICE. A SWORD WITH SOME FILIGREE BUT ALL IN BLUE. LOVE the wayfinders on it, very good for them. wish it wasn't just blue since it seems so aqua-centric but it looks nice soo 10/10

Skull Noise: LITERALLY SO PERFECT. THAT'S SO TWEWY. INCREDIBLE. the headphones and mr mew keychain... wonderful. only thing is that the name is kinda weird. like it makes sense but sounds weird. 10/10

Guardian Bell: i like it more than i think i would. elegant looking, and i love the gargoyles on it. hate the sentient gargoyles tho. 8/10

Dual Disk: VERY cool! looks like it has a reverse grip. the teeth are really cool and i love the bright blue. 9/10

Ferris Gear: eh. pretty cute but i think my pinocchio bias is acting up. the gears are nice, reminds me of wishing star. 5/10

Knockout Punch: SO COOL. really love the spikiness and colors and that the guard looks like the monkey. unfortunately for it, i don't like monkey. 8/10

All for One: the design's nice and it matches the world... but eh. 5/10

Counterpoint: so fun!! the violin guard is great, and the blade looks so cool. the teeth are a little awkward looking, it goes up too much. 9/10

Divewing: RAD!. just a sword with a heart on it and i love it. just so fucking cool. and the guard looks like a wing so 10/10

Sweet Dreams: so cute :) in love with the meow wow on top, but the teeth go up too much again. and i think there should be some komory wings on it. 7/10

Ultima Weapon DDD: NICE. almost identical to the kh1 blade, but blue and BETTER. the wings above the guard and the crown coming out of dream eater sigil... brilliant. 10/10

Unbound: not a hit 💔 just kinda weird and unfinished looking? and the lime green bit is off-putting. the hear at the top is nice. 2/10

End of Pain: ok mood shift hello. looks like it should be one of terra's evil blades. at first i was thrown off but looking closer it's so cool. the wings and eye at the top... the horns above the guard... the butterfly and gazing eye (buttereye) keychain... magnificent. the blade reminds me of x2 dark knight paine's sword. 10/10

Ocean Rage: looks pretty cool at first but the monstro mouth guard is literally horrifying i don't want to look at it anymore 1/10

YMX's keyblade: apparently has no name and is different than the one in bbs. nothing new really to say since it looks pretty similar but the goat head on top is super interesting. how much did No Name (luxu) influence young xehanort... 9/10

Mirage Split: absolutely perfect. i can't think of anything that isn't positive to say. the stained glass, the heart by the teeth, the thin lines, the gradient, wings, pointy, the keychain, literally all perfect. 10/10

Nightmare's End: also utterly perfect. i don't like yellow but it works here and looks great. the cyan gradient is startling but matches MS so i love it. all the colors in the stained glass are wonderful. 10/10

Starlight+: a little guady. but i love how the stars look like comets. the twisted blade looks neat too, but what's the point of the pointy bit on top. 7/10

Treasure Trove+: love that it looks golden and gem encrusted. very rich looking, but the cart is still leaking gems. 8/10

Lady Luck+: NOW the card thing makes more sense, i love how its incorporated throughout the design. more more interesting than the original. 9/10

Three Wishes+: looks like fire?? which is way cooler but why??? i like it more but where's the agrabah. 8/10

Olympia+: CLOUDS. like that zeus is in the clouds, but they took my columns. and the cyan handles are really weird. 7/10

Divine Rose+: excellent. what it should've been all along. the iridescenty guard is suuuper pretty and all the leaves and vines are great. 10/10

Moogle o' Glory: a lot happening here but i love smacking shit with a moogle head. there's so much happening and i don't really get it. 7/10

Fairy Stars+: i didn't know it could get better, the teeth is super cool looking but i wish the twisty blade was more visible. 9/10

Sleeping Lion+: love that it turns that metallic light blue color, very pretty. and the handle looks more like the gunblade! very nice looking and i used it a lot but the top is very weird. 9/10

Counterpoint+: let's take all the fun and exciting bits from the original and crANK IT UP TO ELEVEN. wait. stop. go back it's too much. very pretty still i love colors. 8/10

Fenrir+: my car key recovered from that fight. looks wayyy cooler and looks like ff7. hate the cyan glow though it feels weird. 6/10

Darkgnaw+: took me forever to find an image bc i keep calling it dreadgnaw. much cooler than the original, it looks like it's gonna bite you. the purple is also very nice. 9/10

Missing Ache+: POINTY. super cool but how does ventus twirl it around without poking himself. the colors are fun and it looks rad. 10/10

Diamond Dust+: i used this one the most <3 very pretty i love shades of blue and purple :) looks kinda icy but the top is weirdly flat. 9/10

Bad Guy Breaker: there's so much happening calm down 😭kinda nice but there's a lot to look at. also this world irritated me. 4/10

Gula's Keyblade: #leopardus4ever. as you can see, this keyblade is perfection. fun and spiky and lightningy. i think the whole blade should be lightning tho. 10/10

Aced's Keyblade: do any of these have names. anyway what a dreadgnaw ripoff 🙄 it suits him but guess what. i don't like him. 5/10

Ira's Keyblade: i don't like ira either but his blade is fucking great. love the teeth so much, and the colors. very pretty and cool 8/10

Invi's Keyblade: absolutely gorgeous. i love the flowing lines and little vines. love the colors and also it's super long. 9/10

Ava's Keyblade: girl this hurts to look at on a white background. very pretty though, i love how wispy and cloud-like it is. looks delicate which is great considering she'll kick anyone's ass. 8/10

No Name: unfortunately, this is absolutely wicked. look at it. it's wonderful. the goat head looks so much cooler than the other animal heads somehow, and i love the hollow center of the blade. and the teeth look like a claw, a little. just so fucking cool but i hate everyone who uses this. 10/10

Shooting Star: super pretty, i love how this one flows. i wish the blade went down to wrap around the guard though, instead of cutting off. 8/10

Hero's Origin: they took away my clouds again. i like that half of it is just. zeus. the lightning bolts are cool, but the handle and guard don't really match. 6/10

Favorite Deputy: you are not my favorite deputy fuck you. i don't like toy story but i do like cactuses. 3/10

Ever After: this one's nice :) the guard is super pretty, but i wish there was more going on with the blade. 7/10

Happy Gear: this one's kinda ugly but i like it soo. the energy canister guard is cute. 7/10

Crystal Snow: i hate it so much. it's boring and the keychain is olaf and i don't like frozen. 1/10

Hunny Spout: pretty cute :) the honey jars remind me of sweetstack. i like the wooden handle. 7/10

Wheel of Fate: cool as hell that's my boat. love that the blade looks like a mast that's so cool. wish it wasn't so gray though. 8/10

Nano Gear: ah, here's the color. i like everything except how the nanobots look at the top. it's just kinda gross. 7/10

Grand Chef: oh this is so cute. but why is remy the teeth. poor rat :( but it looks very nice i like how the Tower goes into the guard 8/10

Classic Tone: fuckyoufuckyoufuc. i hate this one. pretty ugly and i don't like it. 2/10

Starlight: SO GOOD. very simple but i like that. looks mysteriously similar to the kingdom key? i love it but it needs a little more going on. 9/10

Ultima Weapon 3: LOOK AT IT. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE THEY CAN'T MAKE A BETTER ULTIMA WEAPON. the silver and red look so good and it's spiky and cool. and the red is glittery!!! why? i don't care it's phenomenal. the spiky heart teeth. that it looks like it's moving. i wish i could break my rating scale. 10/10

Braveheart: riku kingdomhearts stole my fucking car key. we've all heard the complaints i'm not repeating them 1/10

Star Cluster: it's really nice >:( mickey switch with riku pleaase. the star theme is really cute and the colors are nice but why does it look so similar to the kingdom key. 8/10

Flame Liberator: i don't like the name but ok i guess. the keyblade is so fucking cool though. it's what bond of flame wanted to be. i love fire and it looks like it moves so hell yeah. 9/10

Xblade: still can't decide if i like this or not. How do you hold it comfortably. Love the glistening spiky bits. 8/10
