#“will update in a day or two..” and yah 3 weeks later

Text
So yes I am back and I'm writing up my little story as quickly as I can because my insomnia is real and I feel I may loose focus here 🫠
Here is the quick life update in chronological order!
I got married on 01/13/18; while my husband and I drive each other nuts I love him dearly. He is my best friend and after going through old posts and seeing how desperate I was to find someone who loved and understood my nerdy self I can happily say I've found him.
We tried for 3 years to get pregnant (started in November of 2018 when my IUD came out) and it was a very difficult time emotionally and mentally for me. In the end I had to take a ton of oral meds and we tried literally every other day for a month at a time.
In October 2019, my husband and my mom + 2 aunts went to Disney World. My husband and I both threw quarters in the wishing well at Magic Kingdom and we both wished to finally get pregnant. Two weeks later we found out I was pregnant, two weeks after that we found out it was twins.
06/25/20 my beautiful, wild, rambunctious identical girls were born. It hasn't been easy especially with the pandemic but they have been what's kept me going.
Learned in quarantine that I 100% have ADHD and maybe a drop of the spectrum (though therapist doubts it) so now I take Adderall I don't feel like my 17 year old self who was mentally screaming while her brain fought to just brush her teeth.
I've started writing again which was one of the reasons I searched out my old tumblr, I figured I needed a place to store some of the more risqué things I wouldn't want anyone to stumble apon.
I work in Healthcare, which is such a 180 from what I had always said I wanted to do with my life. Does it drive me insane some days? Yes. But do I like my job? Mostly.
I'm still just as nerdy as always so someone slip me some people to follow, the dash is so quiet now I need more people lol
So what's the plan for my humble tumblr? I'm just going to do what I had always done before and shitpost, post fanfic, and find new fandoms to follow.
Also someone told me the porn was coming back so obviously yah girl had to come crawling back.

hi! i'm (y/n)
hello, my name is heeseung!
and we're together
we're couples!
[you guys were invited here today as couples for a fun little drinking game, you guys were aware of that right?]
yes
we are
[okay, for this game, questions will be asked and if you refuse to answer, you drink, it's that simple. should we start?]
let's go, i can't wait to drink
so you won't be answering the questions?
i mean, it's free alcohol
*hee shakes his head in disbelief
[how long have you been together?]
we actually just had our 3rd anniversary last week
so 3 years now <33
[how did you two meet?]
pffft- *(y/n) laughs
can we just choose pass
shot!
*hee offers the shot glass to (y/n) and both take a shot, laughing after
we're drinking this early on damn
we met through a mutual friend
i was brought as a wingman
i think you can guess how it went
[but how did you guys become a couple?]
we got closer after meeting and i think it was obvious to the both of us that we were interested in each other
yeah but it still took a lot in me to ask you out
he stuttered the first time he asked me on a date
did i?
*(y/n) laughs at the memory
you went "hey, so uh you wa-"
*hee cuts (y/n) off by squishing their cheeks
we don't need a reminder
*(y/n) swats his hand away
but it was cute, don't worry
*(y/n) pats his head making heeseung smile
[okay, how about we officially start the game now?]
*both nod and played rock paper and scissors to determine who gets to ask first, (y/n) wins
*(y/n) reads the card and chuckles
[was it love at first sight?]
it wasn't
like i said, i was supposed to be a wingman so in my head, they were already off limits
i don't believe in love at first sight so *(y/n) shrugs
[do you have/did you have doubts with us being together?]
goddamn *(y/n) drinks
*heeseung is wide-eyed
no honey, not like that, i will answer, it's just that i need the alcohol boost
*the shock goes away
i was about to shed tears not gonna lie
*(y/n) rolls their eyes
when i agreed to becoming heeseung's significant others, i had no doubts, i knew what i felt was true and i knew his was too. the doubts were mainly on myself?? like "what if he just wakes and he doesn't love me anymore" but everyday heeseung proves to me that that will never happen
*(y/n) smiles at heeseung
*heeseung looks away trying to hide the smile and blush appearing on his face and he takes a shot refusing to meet (y/n)'s eyes
*(y/n) picks up a card and laughs
[if i become a zombie and had to eat people to survive, would you stick by side?]
heeseung gets scared easily i don't think he will
but if it's you...
*(y/n) raises an eyebrow
wait let me think about this more clearly
see! *(y/n) laughs
*heeseung continues to think
omg just say no!
but it's you !!!
i know it's me but baby we both know you'll run the other way once i start to eat people
...... you still love me right?
yes heeseung, i still love you
*hee :D
okay! next question!
*he picks up a card and laughs
oh i like this one.
[would you date any of my friends?]
*(y/n)'s mouth drops in shock
*(y/n) ultimately decides to play with heeseung
i mean.. *(y/n) reaches for a shot
*the grin on his face disappears
yah!
*(y/n) bursts into giggles and takes a shot
yah~ !!
[would YOU date any of my friends?]
*hee's eyes narrows and takes a shot for revenge
*both laugh at their antics
the answer is no guys, i love his friends but they're pretty much like annoying siblings
sorry (y/n)'s friends, (y/n) is the only one for me
but i'm pretty sure someone who used to be in my circle would jump at the chance
really ?? who ??
*(y/n) gives the look
AH! -
*scene cuts as he says a name
moving on.
*(y/n) picks up a card and laughs
[do you wish i offered to pay for more dates?]
MAN I WISH I COULD PAY MORE ON DATES
i like paying for our dates, but arguing with them is hard
yeah there was one time we spent 10 minutes bickering about who will pay, so we just made an agreement
we take turns per month, like for this month i'm the one paying for all the dates, then on the next month (y/n) will be paying
but everytime it's his month, he always tries to go out a lot, and when it's my month he opts to stay in
hehe
hEHE ??
*heeseung picks up a card and reads the question intently
*he is in deep thought
what is it?
[will you agree to an open relationship?]
ohhh
open relationship is when it's okay if you see other people right?
yup and i don't think i'd agree to it. you?
me as well
sorry im selfish, heeseung is mine, i do not share ;)
*heeseung laughs
yeah, sorry it's not for me, i don't think i can stomach seeing another one hold (y/n) , find your own
*(y/n) raises glasses to cheers and both take a shot
[it's okay not to drink if you answer]
yeah we know
but it's free alcohol
and drinking makes it more fun
*they hi-five
okay! next question,
[if i had to move away for many years, would you wait for me?]
yes.
wow no hesitations
yes i would wait for you
*(y/n) :O
yes
okay we get it
*they laugh
but i will, you're worth waiting for
your patience says otherwise
are you doubting my ability to wait?
do you hear yourself when you're playing?
that's with games, you're not a game, you're not something i play
*(y/n) blushes making heeseung laugh
shut up okay i get it
i also do not actually trust my patience
SEE ?!
*heeseung bursts out laughing
so instead of waiting i'd probably just go to them and/or visit them a lot
or just move in with me
*(y/n) avoids heeseung's stare
is this still related to the question or the present
huh? *(y/n) acts clueless
WAIT-
*camera cut
*we see both of them sporting a blush with big smiles on their face, and the alcohol evidently lessened
[freestyle! ask any question you want]
wah, i don't know what to ask
*he is thinking, everybody shut up
just keep it simple
no i want it to be hard
i can just actually follow the rules and drink instead of answering
*hee pouts
no you won't
*(y/n) :P
okay!
[did you like ... when we first met?]
oh the 'friend'?
yeah
*(y/n) drinks
*heeseung :O
*(y/n) xD
no heeseung, i did not like them, i really just saw them as a friend
ohh ouch sorry buddy
*they share a laugh
oh it's the last one
[question for both: what does loving each other feel like?]
awww that's a cute one, i'll go first
loving heeseung feels like the comfort your favorite songs bring you. it feels like the excitement you get whenever your favorite show releases a new episode. it's the deep sigh in content you release whenever you smell your favorite scent. it's just, loving him feels like everything your favorites make you feel.
*heeseung is not tearing up, definitely not, that's just sweat, he is also 100% not blushing, it's just hot
*he takes a shot and (y/n) laughs at his antics
now how am i supposed to beat that?!
let me be more romantic gosh
respectfully, no.
*both laugh
okay uhh, loving (y/n) feels like riding a rollercoaster. from all the emotions while waiting in line to exiting the ride. loving them is like the feeling of hitting a high note you previously couldn't. it's winning multiple prizes at the arcade. loving (y/n) is like the softness of a sunrise and the absolute wonder in staring at a night sky.
*(y/n) takes a shot not even bothering to hide their blush
why are we so cheesy and poetic when we're intoxicated damn
*heeseung laughs and agrees
forgive us if we're cringey
not our fault you're single
heeseung! :O
*he stays unapologetic
and that's it!
thank you for having us~
bye~

The chains of familial obligations and expectations were suffocating, to say the least. For as long as you could remember, your parents expected you to be the perfect student, smile for the camera when you got an award, and exist for the sole purpose of becoming someone they could brag about. When you first discovered the Eggy Cafe, you didn’t quite know just how much of an impact it’d have on your life. You visited with the sole purpose of finding a place to study in peace and quiet. It first started off as you going every few weeks, usually before a test or when you wanted to be alone in a place where no one knew you.
Never in a million years did you’d think that you’d become friends with Jieun, the owner, or that she’d offer you a part-time job. You weren’t looking for one nor did you need the money but for some reason, you accepted it. And so for the past year, you’ve been working as a barista for the Eggy Cafe, enjoying your job more than you should be. The scent of coffee beans and freshly baked pastries became embedded into your clothes, the sounds of conversations from customers you chatted with became music to your ears, and in the Eggy Cafe, you found the constant warmth you’ve been longing for your entire life. Just a few months ago, the Eggy Cafe started gaining attention from students on campus due to the school’s basketball team star player, Min Yoongi talking about how good your drinks (mostly the Americanos) were. You became known as a sort of fairy of caffeine, supplying people with their caffeine fix and pastries that tasted better than the overpriced Starbucks on campus.
It was nearing midnight and there were a few people still in the cafe, studying and working on homework but you could handle it on your own. Your coworker of 3 weeks, Jay had to leave a few hours before his shift ended for a reason you’d didn’t care enough to remember. You were currently making a drink for yourself when suddenly,
“Uhh, hey,” a voice said somewhat unsure of themselves. You looked at where it came from and saw someone standing awkwardly by the side of the bar counter somewhat of a distance away from you.
“Hi, do you know what you want to order yet?” you asked. He shook his head and looked around. There was an air of loneliness that surrounded him, he looked familiar for some reason probably because you’ve seen him around campus.
“Take a seat and however long as you need,” you said with a smile. He sat down by the bar counter, two seats away from you and you continued making your drink. A silence befell the two of you until finally,
“Why are all the drinks named like potions?”
“Because this place is magical and I’m a witch,” you joked.
“I heard from Jay-hyung that a fairy working here,” he said, causing you to smile,
“What kind of potion do you want?”
“Got a potion for making friends?” he asked. You knew that he was only joking but you could feel a sliver of truth in his words. Working in the Eggy Cafe for so long allowed you to get to know various types of people and how to help them out, even if it was for a few brief moments.
“Give me a sec, I’ve got just the thing.” It didn’t take long before you placed a cup in front of him and you leaned on the other side of the counter to start a conversation.
“Drink this,” you said. He looked at the cup, then back at you in confusion,
“Tea?”
“What’s on your mind, babe?”
You learned that the practically 6 feet tall guy’s name was Nishimura Riki but people often called him Ni-ki. You realized that the reason he looked familiar was because he was a dance major and you saw him practicing by the quad sometimes. Throughout the next few months, you started noticing him more and more after that day, saying hi whenever you passed by each other and smiling at him when you couldn’t say hi. One lunchtime when Ni-ki came to the cafe his order was in a to-go cup, you figured he’d be leaving. As he waited, you gave him a plate with some mochi on it.
“I didn’t order this,” he said, looking at the plate of mochi.
“Try it out for me, let me know if it tastes good. I made it this morning and I’m thinking of asking Jieun to sell it.” He took a bite, eyes lightening up as the taste settled on his lips. He had had lots of mochi and desserts throughout his lifetime but this was unlike anything he’d ever had before.
“What is this?” he asked, looking at you in pure amazement. You made a mental note to yourself that food was something that made Ni-ki smile.
“Smores mochi, it’s good, yeah?” he nodded,
“You should sell this. Definitely.” As you handed him his drink,
“Great, it’ll give you a reason to come by more often.” You got back to work, not quite noticing the tinge of red that was starting to show on his cheeks or how he muttered,
“I already have a reason to come by more often,” to himself, just out of earshot from anyone else.
Ni-ki came to the cafe later that week with some people, one of them included Jay who also wasn’t working. The only thing was that when he saw you, you weren’t behind the register with an apron. Instead, you were sitting in the booth by the window with a laptop in front of you and what seemed like hundreds of papers on the table. Your hair was brought up in a messy bun with strands of hair around your face and you sported an oversized hoody.
“What’s up?” a voice asked, turning your attention away from your laptop and whoever it was.
“Jay-hyung, don’t bother her,” Ni-ki said as he went to your table. A guy whose name you later found out was Jungwon sat next to Jay while the other 4 guys were in line at the register.
“It’s not a bother, I’ll always welcome your company Ni-ki,” you said. He knew damn well that you were saying it out of friendliness but he couldn’t stop the heat that rose to his cheeks. You were introduced to the 5 other guys and learned that Ni-ki and Jay were a part of a group that put out performances.
“Y/n-ah, you work here?” the one whose name you found out was Sunoo asked already comfortable with you. Sunoo was bright and cheery at the first meet, the opposite of Ni-ki but you realized that the two complimented each other.
“When I’m not studying I’m either sleeping or supplying caffeine,” you replied with a smile. As everyone settled into their own conversation, you started eating the chocolate chocolate chip muffin you baked earlier. Even though you weren’t working today, Jieun still let you have access to the kitchen and coffee. Seeing Ni-ki eyeing your plate, without thinking much of it, you ripped out a piece and brought it up to Ni-ki’s mouth. As he accepted the bite, his arm reached over behind your shoulders to get his cup of tea which was by the ledge of the window.
He returned the cup back to its original place but his arm stayed around your shoulders. You didn’t mind it, if anything you were glad for Ni-ki and his presence lately. Somewhere down the line, the once 7 guys you were with became just Ni-ki by your side.
“Can I walk you home?” Ni-ki asked as you started packing up your things.
“Well, if you’re offering to be my bodyguard tonight I won’t refuse” As you and Ni-ki walked to your dorm, it didn’t quite register how much you enjoyed being with him until he had to leave. Once at your doorstep,
“There’s a dance showcase happening at the festival tomorrow, I’m performing with everyone else and solo. If you’re not busy, do you wanna... come?” Dancer Ni-ki was a part of him you had yet to see and you heard so much about it from everyone else. Over the past few months, his closed-off persona was slowly fading and little by little he was letting you into his world.
“I’ll be there, we can celebrate your win at the cafe after!”
“Yah, what makes you think I’m going to win?”
“If you lose then we can celebrate the fact that it’s over.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow then?”
“Mhm.”
The next day came by quicker than you were expecting, the only part you were looking forward to was the showcase. You were able to be close to the front of the stage with a few of your friends and you cheered as loud as you possibly could when it was time for Ni-ki’s performance. In awe of how he commanded the stage, you couldn’t believe just how powerful Ni-ki was, practically leaving you more breathless than when the two of you were next to each other. He was definitely going to win. And if the judges thought otherwise you were going to throw a riot.
Later that night, the Eggy Cafe was full of chatters as the group and solo dance performance trophies were set on the counter. The boys were clearly tired but still happy nonetheless. While Jay was teaching Jake how to make a puppuccino for Layla, Sunghoon was washing the dishes that you guys used since it was after closing time, Jungwon and Sunoo taking selcas, and Heeseung asleep on the couch, Ni-ki was sitting across the counter from you.
“Y/n?” he asked.
“What’s on your mind?”
“You updated the menu names?” he asked, looking behind you. They were still as crazy if not more as they were originally.
“Which potion do you want?”
“Got a potion that’ll give me the courage to ask you out?” Unable to stop yourself from blushing, you set a cup of tea in front of him. He took a sip,
“Are you free tomorrow?” Nodding as you took a sip of your own drink,
“I am.”

Note: Set around Year 2019
────────── ♔ ──────────
Waking up to a quiet dorm was something Minyoung would have never expected to experience when she moved in with them but that is what she woke up to this morning. They were given their usual holiday after promotion period, only this time they were given a whole week off which the members took advantage of to visit their family.
Minyoung didn't have any close family in Korea which is why she's remained at the dorms. The members did ask her if she wants to go with any of them so she won't be alone but she declined saying she'll be fine at the dorm and making an excuse that she made plans with her friends. She actually didn't have any plans since most of her friends are busy during this time but she didn't want to intrude on the family time of her members.
Jongho was last one to leave this morning as he was living the closest and was very hesitant to leave Minyoung alone. "You can just come with me. Mom would love to have you over. She’s been asking me when you’ll come to visit anyway. You'll be alone for a few days. Are you sure?"
"Don't worry about me and just go. I'm sure they're already waiting for you back home. I'll contact you if something happens, or better yet I'll just update everyone in our chatroom." Minyoung let out a giggle as she was trying to push Jongho out the door, the latter not budging from his spot.
"Then make sure to message okay? If you change your mind, tell me and I'll pick you up." Jongho sighed before smiling.
"Mhm! Don't worry and just enjoy the holiday. Tell your mom that I’ll visit her next time." Minyoung hugged him before seeing him off.
Having the dorms to herself, Minyoung looked around for something to do before deciding she could clean up the place a bit. They've been so busy that they barely had time to eat and sleep, much less clean. It wasn't as messy as one would expect a group of their size would have but there were some that needs cleaning mainly the shoe cabinet and the couch that sometimes doubles as a hamper. She lost track of time only to realize how late in the afternoon it has gotten, when her stomach made a sound.
"It's time for lunch, I guess. Do we even have anything I can eat here?" Minyoung looked through the fridge and found it empty except for bottled water and kimchi. "Guess not. I'm ordering in and maybe go for groceries tomorrow." She picked up her phone and decided to call the Chinese restaurant near them.
"Yes. Please leave it by the door. Yes." She said finishing up the call. She was then reminded of how she couldn't even call for delivery, worrying if they could understand each other.
Tumblr media
(Flashback)
ATEEZ was in the middle of practicing for their showcase when Hongjoong decided it’s time for them to take a break. Most members lied down on the floor catching their breath.
“So tired and I’m hungryy.” Minyoung whined as she sat down legs stretched on the floor.
“What do you want to eat?” Seonghwa asked already getting their manager’s phone to order.
“I want chicken.” Yeosang answered with Mingi agreeing to it
“Pizza” Jongho and Minyoung answered at the same time, grinning at each other when they realized.
“Should we get chicken and pizza then?” Hongjoong looked around if everyone is okay with it.
“Let Minyoung order it.” San laughed as he noticed Minyoung whipped her head, shocked and confused why he’ll even suggest that. “For practice. Don’t you want to learn how to be able to do that on your own?” San added.
Minyoung nodded, biting her lip“But..what if they don’t understand? Or I don’t understand.”
“You’ll just have to tell them. We’ll guide you anyway then later you’ll be used to it.” Mingi patted her head chuckling as Minyoung took the phone to order.
Minyoung called the shop and waited nervously for them to pick up the call. “Ah. Hello. I would like to order. Yes. The address is KQ Entertainment. I’d like 4 orders of chicken and 3 boxes of the pizza special. I’ll pay with my card. Thank you.”
“We have a special promo for today..” as the staff went on to explain Minyoung looked towards Jongho for help in a panic as there were a lot of information being relayed in a short time. The other members let out a laugh, particularly San and Wooyoung who were laughing as if they were having the time of their lives. Jongho decided to step in and finish the order for the girl and patting her back after.
“You did well Youngie-ah.” Mingi chuckled patting her head “That was good.”
“The look on your face!” Wooyoung who was still cracking up at what happened managed to say in between his laughs
“Yah yah. Stop it. She did well.” Mingi defended her “I’d imagine the same would happen to us if we were abroad.”
“Should we not let them eat?” Jongho said grinning. Minyoung looked as if she was thinking about it, evoking laughter from everyone other than San and Wooyoung who suddenly stopped and argued that they can’t do that.
(End of Flashback)
Tumblr media
It has been six days since the members left for their family homes, six days since Minyoung had the dorm to herself. She had already done everything she could think of to stave off boredom. She was able to talk to her family through video calls, meet up with some of her highschool friends who didn’t have a busy week, and managed to watch dramas and movies that she wanted but unable to due to their packed schedule. She never knew that a week could be a long time when you don’t have anything planned.
The quiet dorm, although Minyoung appreciates how relaxing it is, makes her miss the members and their antics a lot. It was to the point where Minyoung even thought that she wouldn’t mind Wooyoung and San teasing her about the most random things.
“How should I spend the kill time tomorrow?” Just as she thought that, her phone dinged indicating a new message.
(ATEEZ groupchat)
San: Minyoung-ah, are you home? Minyoung: I am. (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ Minyoung: Why? Did you have something that will be delivered today? (・・ ) ? San: Can you open the door for me? There’s a lot for me to bring up. Seonghwa: San, you went back early? San: I did. Mom scolded me when she found out Minyoung spent the holiday alone and told me I should have asked her to come with me. Wooyoung: My dad told me off too. He even said I should just go back after spending a day at home. Jongho: I asked her to come with me but she didn’t want to. Minyoung: How could I? It’s a rare holiday, I didn’t want to intrude on your time. |・ω・) Minyoung: Hold on. Let me open the door for San-oppa. Jongho: I told you my mom has been asking me when you’ll come visit. Seonghwa: I’m also on the way back already. Wait for me and let’s eat dinner together.
Minyoung went to get the door and helped San place his bags on the kitchen table.
“My mom packed a lot of food for you. She said you should come with me next time instead of staying here alone.” San handed one of the bags to Minyoung with his mom’s note for her
“Omo. I should thank her. I definitely want to come see where you grew up oppa. I’ve always been curious about it too.” Just then, the chime of their door being unlocked sounded making the two look at each other as if asking who else returned early “Oh! Welcome back. Yeosang-oppa, you also returned earlier? Why?” Minyoung gasped in surprise as both Yeosang and Seonghwa walk in together.
“I didn’t have anything else to do at home so I figured I should just go back and accompany you. Then I saw Seonghwa-hyung outside the door.” Yeosang explained as he went to his room to arrange his stuff.
Seonghwa patted Minyoung’s head as the girl gave him a hug “Yunho said he’s almost here too so let’s wait for him so we could eat together.”
“What is this?” San bursted out in laughter as he was checking his phone
“What happened?” Minyoung asked trying to take a peek
“Everyone’s returning today.” San showed Minyoung their group chat
(ATEEZ groupchat)
Yunho: I’m almost there. There’s some traffic but I’ll get there in 15 minutes Seonghwa: Have you had dinner? If not, we’ll wait for you Yunho: Not yet. Alright, I’m almost at the intersection. Hongjoong: What is this? So is everyone returning today? San: I’m already here with Yeosang and Seonghwa-hyung. Mingi: Did you guys talk about this? Hold on. I’ll get ready and go too. Jongho: Already on my way when Seonghwa-hyung said he’s returning today Hongjoong: Okay. I’ll head straight to the dorms then. I’ll just finish this song. Jongho: You’re at the company Hongjoong-hyung? Hongjoong: I am. I didn’t know how else I’ll spend the rest of the break and I had an idea for a song so I might as well work on it as soon as possible. Wooyoung: Wait. Σ(□_□) Wooyoung: Everyone’s back? Wooyoung: I’m going too! ε=ε=┌( >_<)┘
“Everyone’s going back today? Wahh” Minyoung exclaimed glad that she’s finally have some company. She has to admit that even if their dorms could be as chaotic as could be, she missed spending time with her members. All of ATEEZ realized how glad she is with how bright her smiles are and how she plays along with all the jokes and teasing.

Outtake:
“So? When will she visit again? It’s been a while since I last saw Minyoung. Bring the others with you too.” Jongho’s mom asked for the nth time during their dinner the first night of his holiday
“I already asked her. She said she’ll visit next time.” Jongho shook his head laughing “Are you sure I’m your son? You’ve been asking about Minyoung this whole time!”
“It’s just she’s still a kid. She’s the same age as you and I can’t help but worry for her. You even said she didn’t have any close family in Korea. So I’m worried.” His mom laughed as she explained trailing off before his younger brother suddenly piped in “Mom is always talking about Minyoung-noona with the other aunties.” and his Dad adding in “They all want to see her. I’m surprised your mom hasn’t visited your dorms to see Minyoung.”

your type (pt. 6)
Tumblr media
Hiiii friends, it’s only been like two weeks! Pretty good in terms of posting for me lol. I don’t know what it is about this story in particular, but I feel so self-conscious about posting new parts. But I’m also not someone who likes to leave things half finished.
I hope you’re all doing well :)
BIPOC recs: I actually have a few! Two books: Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 - Cho Namjoo (basically follows a woman’s life in South Korea and all the micro-oppressive things that women face in their personal and career lives); Winners Take All - Anand Giridharadas (a non-fiction about how billionaires create such a disproportionate world for us all; I love listening to Anand’s talks about this subject. I find it fascinating). Music: Cross Country - Breland (excellent country song); Boyz II Men - Kirby (I love this woman’s energy)

pairing: jihoon x OC/reader
pt. 1; pt. 2; pt. 3; pt. 4; pt. 5
The summer semester has her in the research lab 8 hours a day. Luckily, Jihoon is also on campus for just as long. His professor got him a gig working on music for a few groups in various companies. It helps get his foot in the door, and while the deadlines are tight, he genuinely enjoys working.
They take their lunch breaks together, wandering the green or just wandering hallways if it’s too warm outside. But since he doesn’t have other classes, Jihoon’s been chatting with a few girls he’s met.
And he’s told her all about them, so she isn’t blindsided if someone else decides to share it with her.
“How was your date last night?” she asks at lunch.
Jihoon shrugs. The girl had come over since Seungcheol was at Jihyo’s. “She was whatever.”
She lifts an eyebrow, eating the sandwich that Seungkwan made for her lunch. She’s now taken to spending the night at Seungkwan and Hansol’s when Seungcheol visits.
Jihoon sighs. “Jiwoo was uninteresting.” When she has no response to this, he pouts. “She didn’t really have any opinions on anything, so we couldn’t find anything to talk about.”
“But you didn’t just go for dinner.”
“She was fine in bed.” Jihoon shrugs. “Didn’t really tell me what she liked, so hard to say how she felt about it.”
“Ahh.”
“What does that mean?”
She pops the rest of her sandwich in her mouth. “I don’t really know how to continue from that.”
Jihoon snorts. “Well, you’re the one who asked.”
She thinks for a minute. “Are you just saying she was uninteresting?” She kicks him lightly under the table. “Did you listen to her?”
“Of course I did!” Jihoon sips his coffee. “You said that I need to look at people more,” he makes a point of staring at her, “and to be aware of my body language because it comes off as standoffish.”
“And still?”
“All she talked about was her dog. I love talking about people’s dogs, but not for two hours.”
“Dinner was two hours?”
Jihoon shakes his head in frustration. “The kitchen kept getting the order wrong. Anyway, enough about my failed date, how’s your research going?” He pushes a napkin towards her.
She pulls out the pencil she was using to hold her hair up. Her hair cascades around her and she begins sketching out her reaction. While Jihoon hasn’t quite learned all the chemistry terminology, he recognizes various things, specifically the compounds she’s working on. She’d taught him some basics about catalytic testing, using drawings to help him follow along.
Multiple times she’s insisted that her research is really boring, especially for people who aren’t in science. But Jihoon likes listening to her talk, and her research lets her dominate the conversation. He asks questions and clarification, and she’s always great at simplifying things.
Jihoon has learned that her amazing attention to detail translates well to analyzing his songs. And she’s always very honest about the parts she likes and doesn’t like.
“I have some finished works I want your opinion on.” They start to clean up their table.
She glances up at him. “You don’t have a date tonight?”
Jihoon waits for her to fall into step with him. “I do, but I also have deadlines. So, if you’re not tired later, meet me in the studio?”
She waves goodbye to him. “I’ll let you know where I’m at.” She waits for him to exit the building before going to put her earphones in. As she’s heading to the stairs, she sees Seulgi heading towards her. They cross paths in the chemistry labs, but have never been on real speaking terms.
She smiles at Seulgi, about to go around her like normal, when the woman asks, “Are you and Jihoon dating?”
Despite her earphones in, she does hear the question. She turns. “Uhm, no.” She pauses and Seulgi says nothing. “Why?”
“I just…” Seulgi gives her a once over. “You seem too nice to be dating Jihoon.”
She’s taken aback by that observation. While Jihoon has given off the hot-cold vibe, player energy, and a slight lack of communication skills, she can’t say Jihoon’s ever warranted a comment like that. “We’re just…” She tries to come up with a word. “We’re just friends.”
“You’re smart.” Seulgi seems to mull something over. “But smart girls like you have fallen for his charm.”
“Like… you?”
“Once, but I’m not talking about me here. I’m talking about my friend.”
This piques her interest more than she wishes it did. Jihyo has warned her against listening to all these testimonials of women dating Jihoon.
“Maybe you just need to give the man a solid chance. If you’re gonna spend all your time with him anyway.”
Against Jihyo’s advice, she asks, “What happened to your friend?”
“Jihoon broke her heart. He doted on her and from the sounds of it, worshipped her, but then all of a sudden, he went cold. Stopped answering messages, stopped picking up the phone, avoiding her in the hallways. Then he said—”
“‘I’m ignoring you now, please leave me alone?’”
Seulgi tips her head. “Have you talked to Wendy?”
She runs her tongue along her bottom teeth. “No. I haven’t.”
“So how did you—?”
“I met another girl he’s dated. And… he’s a creature of habit, so… figured he’d say something similar.”
Seulgi hums. “Well, Wendy refuses to see any other man now. But she’s fine, mostly. We just can’t mention Jihoon around her. So, just…”
“Be careful?”
Seulgi chuckles. “So you’ve heard the warnings before?”
“A couple times.” Under her breath, she mutters, “Maybe I should heed them more.” She gives Seulgi a friendly nudge as she walks away. “Thanks for the warning.”
Tumblr media
“Is everything okay?”
Jihoon received her text around 4:30, saying that she wasn’t feeling well and would go straight home after she was done in lab.
“Yeah, I’m just… I think I’m getting sick.”
She had seemed fine when he saw her.
“Okay, I’ll walk you home then.”
There’s a long pause. “I actually caught up with Taehyung, Jungkook’s boyfriend? He said he would walk me home.”
Jihoon turns in his chair at this odd development. “Oh. Okay. Well, I’ll… see you tomorrow then.”
“Bye.” Almost like an afterthought, she adds, “Sorry.”
Jihoon turns back to stare at the pieces of work he has open in the task bar that he wanted to show her. Instead, he closes them and goes back to work.
Time passes without him realizing. Before he knows it, it’s time for him to meet up with Ara. He glances at the clock, thinking.
Jihoon (19:14)
Meet me at the gym?
Jihoon (19:14)
Hey, don’t think I’ll be able to make it tonight. Caught a cold.
Soonyoung (19:15)
Sure. See you in 10.
Mingyu (19:15)
I’m in.
Ara (19:15)
If I didn’t know better, I’d assume you have another woman in mind.
But okay.
Get well soon, babe.
True to their word, Mingyu and Soonyoung meet him at the gym near their homes. Soonyoung leads the way inside and they go stretch while Jihoon disappears to change.
When he reemerges, Mingyu asks him what’s wrong.
“She cancelled on me.”
“Who?” Soonyoung is stretching on his right.
Jihoon crosses his right arm across his body, feels the stretch in his upper delt and across his arm. He updates them on what’s happened in the last 7 hours, from lunch, to her saying she’s sick, to Ara.
Mingyu frowns. “I didn’t realize you two were still going on dates. I thought you’d already gotten to the… dating part of dating.”
“Wait,” Soonyoung seems to realize something, “are you seeing other women right now? We cannot win this bet unless you commit!”
Mingyu observes Jihoon in the mirror. He has a dazed look in his eye, as if he’s thinking hard about something. “You actually like her.” He turns to Jihoon. “You’re genuinely upset that she didn’t come to the studio.”
Jihoon wasn’t really frowning before, but he is now. “No. I’m not.”
“Wonwoo hyung said that he thought you were seeing other women again.” Mingyu turns back to the mirror. “I said that couldn’t be possible, because you don’t like to lose.”
“Can we just work out?” His tone is harsh, but his friends hear a small plea in there too. They exchange looks over Jihoon’s head and shrug.
“Yeah, let’s go.” Soonyoung nudges him towards the free weights.
Tumblr media
It isn’t until after their gym session on their way home that Soonyoung and Mingyu begin grilling him.
“Are you seeing other women right now?” Mingyu asks.
“Well…” Jihoon adjusts his bag on his shoulder. “Yeah.”
Soonyoung and Mingyu’s jaws drop.
“Dude. The bet.” Soonyoung gives him a push. “What if she finds out?”
Jihoon watches his feet move beneath him. “She already knows.”
“She knows? And she still goes out with you?” Mingyu demands. “Are you guys just friends?”
Soonyoung groans in frustration. “Seriously, Jihoon, bets are serious business. We went all in on this bet. You can’t just let Seokmin win a bet like this.”
“What happened, hyung?”
The question seems to release something in Jihoon. He throws his hands up in frustration. “I don’t know. I really don’t. She just… holds herself at a distance from me. I can’t seem to…” He makes grabbing motions in the air. “Get anything out of her.” He shakes his head. “Maybe we should just give up here. I don’t know if I can win this bet.”
“Yah!” Soonyoung throws an arm around his shoulders. He squeezes his arm. “I am not losing to Seokmin and Seungkwan on a bet that I know that we can win. You are the best at this.”
“She’s just as good at keeping me at a distance. And apparently she’s also had men castrated before.”
Mingyu and Soonyoung blink in surprise at the sudden information.
“Okay, well, we’re not going to let that happen to you,” Mingyu states.
Soonyoung agrees. “But you’re going to have to start pulling out al your moves. You—”
Jihoon shakes his head. “Listen to me. I have been at this since February. The girl won’t even let me kiss her.”
Mingyu scoffs. “You haven’t even kissed her yet? You guys are just friends.”
Soonyoung holds a hand up in Mingyu’s face. “You are not being encouraging.” He readjusts his grip around Jihoon. “Look. We’ll help you then. Lee Jihoon doesn’t tap out like this.”
“You said she canceled on you.” Mingyu tips his chin in Jihoon’s direction. “Why?”
“She said she was sick and found someone else to walk her home.”
Soonyoung’s eyes widen. He releases his grip on Jihoon to get a better look at his face. “That’s it?”
Jihoon scowls. “Did I not tell you that I haven’t even kissed her yet? I eat lunch with her every day and then I walk her home.”
“Are we in the 1700s? What the fuck?” Mingyu demands.
“I can’t work out what makes her tick. She tells me stuff about herself, but nothing I can use. All I’ve learned is that she’s one of the smartest people I know, reads a lot, paints, and can give me actual feedback on my music.”
“Oh, come on, that can’t be all you’ve learned.”
Jihoon sighs, racking his brain for more information. There are obviously little things he’s noticed, like that she drinks a shit ton of water; that when she thinks something’s amusing, she lets out a little breath of laughter; or that she presses down on her fingers with her thumbs when she’s nervous. But he can’t share these things. They aren’t useful.
“I’ve learned she hasn’t really dated anyone since Byunggu. That she doesn’t even count that guy as a boyfriend so Jungkook is the last man she dated.”
“Byunggu… why do I know that name?” Soonyoung looks to Mingyu.
“Because he’s the guy who’s either been threatened, murdered or castrated,” Jihoon grumbles.
Soonyoung waves him off. “No.” He reaches behind Jihoon to hit Mingyu’s arm. “Isn’t he that guy who debuted last year?”
Mingyu’s brow furrows.
“He stopped coming to parties because he was filming some show or something, remember?” He pushes Mingyu, as if that will jog his memory. “He was one of your girls’ friends. Remember? She wouldn’t stop talking about him? That’s why you dumped her?”
“Oh! Yeah!” Mingyu pulls his phone out and looks something up. When he turns the phone to Jihoon, Jihoon squints at an article about this man who is currently doing small roles in various dramas. He doesn’t recognize the face. But until this point, he’d never seen any photos of this elusive ex. A debut would explain why he disappeared into thin air.
“What am I supposed to do with this information?” Jihoon pushes the phone away. “She clams up as soon as he comes up.”
“Okay, okay. Forget trying to replicate the men of the past.” Soonyoung says. “Just… be you.”
Jihoon stares at him in disbelief. “She doesn’t like me.”
“She must, because she’s spent a lot of time with you, hyung.” Mingyu sips from his water bottle. “Noona only gives certain people her time, if you haven’t noticed. Her girls, Hansol, Seungkwan, Wonwoo hyung these days.” He shrugs. “If you’re spending so much time with her, she likes you at least a little bit.”
Jihoon bites his tongue, annoyed that they’re right. “I’m only going to give this another month. If I can’t get this girl into my bed, then there’s no way she’s going to say ‘I love you’ first.”
Tumblr media
“Don’t you think you’re being a little harsh?” Jihyo asks.
The two roommates are having a night in, watching a movie but talking the entire time with take out on the table.
She came home looking preoccupied, so Jihyo forced her to put on her pajamas, pick what sort of take out they would eat, and to bundle up on the couch. Then she forced her roommate to tell her what was wrong.
“I don’t know. Do you think it’s a sign that two different women have told me I should be careful?” She pouts. “I don’t want to feel like I need to tread carefully.”
“I don’t know what Jihoon was like with those other girls, but he likes you. I know what a guy looks like when all he wants is to get you into his bed. That look on Jihoon’s face when he sees you is pure adoration.”
She carefully breaks apart a cookie before popping a piece into her mouth. “If anything, Jihoon’s just a friend.”
“A friend who adores you. Who you also seem to like.” Jihyo nudges her with the back of her hand. “You can’t go around thinking every boy is going to hurt you like Byunggu.”
“I don’t think that. Why would I think that if I don’t even give them a chance to try?”
Jihyo snorts, both amused and frustrated. “Jihoon is putting in the effort with you. You didn’t even give him your number for like a month and a half. And he still made it work.”
“I did that to keep him away from me.” She rolls her eyes, a slight smile on her face. “So, thanks for helping him out with that.”
“You still hang out with him.”
“You know, he’s seeing other girls now.”
Jihyo pauses. “Really?”
“He tells me about them. He had a date yesterday. He has one tonight.” She shakes her head. “I think it’s just better for me if we stay friends.” She notices Jihyo on her phone. “What are you doing now?”
“Asking Cheollie if Jihoon’s home.” Jihyo turns her phone her way, grinning. Seungcheol had sent a picture of Jihoon next to him on the couch. The two seem to be playing video games. “Give the man a chance. You don’t know what kind of boyfriend he can be if you don’t.”

I’m missing you //

A/N: This is my first time taking part in a writing event, hopefully this is not boring
{04:45 pm}
I tried to focus, on making new music beats; since I decided to complete it by tomorrow, I have to do this because I know if I don’t then I will miss him like crazy and my overthinking will kill me. While making music, I was occupied by Chan’s thoughts
 {6 days ago}
08:01 pm
I opened the door and saw Chan standing, he was holding rose bouquet. “this is for you” he gave it to me, I took it and hugged him tight, he lifted me up, and brought me inside. “I missed you so much, so so much that I my mind couldn’t stop thinking about you.” I told him
He put me down and we settled on the couch, I looked at him, he looked adorable. He suddenly pinched my cheeks, “Awwww I missed you too baby”
“Chan I wanted to ask you something” he nodded “You didn’t forget about our date right? I wanted to take you out… I just… wanted to spend time with you… you told me you’re free” he looked at me with his loving eyes.
“How can I forget Y/N? It’s been three years we are dating but till now we couldn’t spend our Valentine's Day because of my schedules and this time I got chance and how am I supposed to forget? Of course, I remember. I can’t wait” and pecked me on my lips, I looked at him, he leaned closer and kissed me. My hands were securely wrapped on his neck, he pulled me closer and my breath hitched but he didn’t stop kissing me. We met after two weeks and he is on a break now, it’s very difficult to meet him because of his schedules; and I missed his touch, I missed him.
He let me go after he was out of breath; our breathing was uneven. He was about to kiss me again, but I stopped him and he pouted; I gave him a peck since he was cute.
“Wanna go out for dinner?” he asked me and I nodded,
“Let me go and get changed, give me 10 minutes” I told him and went back to my room.
I got changed into peach colour dress and wore black cardigan, applied very light make up. Took my sling bag and went downstairs, Chan was playing with his phone.
“Baby” I called him.
“huh?” his eyes diverted towards me. I walked towards him and he was coming towards me, soon he was standing infront of me. He pulled me closer by my waist; he was leaning to kiss me again, “Not now, or else we might get late Chan. Let’s go” he pouted again and his hands left my waist and held my hands.
“As you wish madam” he said cutely and I smiled at him.
I locked my house, and we went towards his car, I sat inside. He got seated and was about to start driving but his phone started ringing, it was Hyunjin. I don’t know why but he was staring at the caller ID for too long instead of picking it up, “Chan, Hyunjin is calling pick it up” I told him and he snapped out from his thoughts. “Huh? Huh hmm” he said and was about to pick up the call ended. Hyunjin called again, he picked it up.
“Something happened? Jinnie?”
……………….
“Now?”
………………
“Okay, I am coming” he looked at me while talking.
“Yes, I am going there straightaway, don’t worry. It won’t take long for me to reach. Bye” I had a hunch that he is going back to his company.
“I’m sorry.” Chan looked down, I didn’t want to make me feel bad or apologetic, “It’s okay Chan, go and we can meet later.”
“I’m really so-
I cut him off by pecking his lips, being with Chan for 3 years; I know him how he always feels sorry for me when our plans get cancelled but I always understand him because his work is important and dating an idol isn’t easy, I trust him with everything and I don’t want to make his life harder; I am here for him as his support and love; I will never ever come between his work.
“Now go and let me know later, okay? Take care” he nodded and I got off his car and waved at him. I saw his car going and I went back home; I changed into comfy clothes and cooked something for myself, I wondered if he ate something or not. I miss him.
 {1:00 am}
I was battling with myself should I text him or not, I wanted to ask him if he ate or not but I didn’t want to bother him. I was about to text him and a text popped up from him.
‘Y/N but I am going to Australia for work, I am on the way to airport right now. I really wanted to spend my whole week with you but I am sorry, I am really sorry. Sometimes I wish I could love you more than you love me.’ I closed his text and without thinking twice I grabbed my jacket, phone, car keys and wallet. I went running downstairs. My head couldn’t think straight, he was leaving and he doesn’t know when he will come back. He is on his way to airport right now and how am I supposed to stay calm knowing that?
I was driving my car, my tears started falling, I don’t know why it started hurting me a lot. I know he was feeling sorry but I can’t leave him like this. I had no idea then when did he left his dorm and I had no idea when will he be reaching airport and when is his flight. I tried calling him but being Chan, he won’t pick up. I was going crazy, how can he leave like this without a goodbye,
“Chan, Chan, CHAN, are you thinking you’ll leave me without a goodbye right now? I am not letting that happen when you always inform me about your schedules and always tell me to wait so why now? I am not letting that happen” I was talking to myself and crying. It took me 40 minutes to reach airport and I had no idea about him. I wanted to call everyone else but I had no guts inside myself to talk to anyone. I parked my car and went inside, I was running and searching for him. I tried calling him again, but he didn’t pick up. I went towards the “check in” area with hope, I was running and my eyes were searching him. I went around the airport for good 15 minutes, I tried calling him again, “Chan pick up, Chan please, uh please pick up” I was murmuring.
“Y/N”
“Chan” I broke down, I missed his voice.
“Y/N” I looked back and saw him standing. Without thinking twice I went and hugged him tight. “Y/N don’t cry” his words made me cry more, for some unknown reason I didn’t wanted to let go of his warmth right now, everytime he went out of country, I felt sad but this time I don’t know why I felt worst. I wanted to hug him because I was sad.
“baby, I am here. Don’t cry.” I looked at him.
“I’m so-
“Stop saying sorry, it’s not your fault. I missed you and how can you leave without a goodbye. How can you? Tell me” I started crying again.
“I felt sorry, I know how much you wanted to spend these days with me but because of my schedules-
“Chan don’t be sorry, I am proud of you. Schedules can’t be helped and I can only wish you all the best and take care of yourself. And it’s okay, and don’t feel sorry, ok? It’s not your fault and I love you” he wiped my tears away.
He hugged me, “I love you too and thankyou for being so supportive and understanding me always”
I looked at him and smiled.
“Hyung, we need to go and do our check in right now, others are waiting.” I heard Jisung say, he came towards us.
“Y/N, you’re here?” he looked confused but understood. “This time too, Chan hyung is going with us, don’t worry we will try to complete our work and will try to be back as soon as possible. And don’t cry too much for him, do you know how sad he was while informing you and he kept ignoring your calls because he didn’t want to make you sad and it was Hyunjin who saw you and told him to find you.”
“Yah, why are you telling her everything like this- Stop Jisung” Chan shut him up.
“Chan, don’t be sad and I am really okay. Just be ok and take care of yourself. And Jisung take care of yourself and be safe.” I let him go, my heart wanted to cry out again but I stopped myself and held my emotions from an outburst.
“Chan go, it’s time. And have a safe flight, I love you” I told him. He pecked my lips, “Love you too and don’t miss me too much” I waved at him. He was smiling and how could I cry. I turned back as soon as he was out of my sight and my tears started falling.
 {Present}
{06:00 pm}
I sighed and kept my headphones on the table. I wanted to make this song for Chan and wanted to give him today as a gift. I miss him again. We talked 4 days ago and till now there’s no update of him. I miss him and I really want to meet him, it’s not even possible. He’s not here.
My phone started ringing, I went to pick up in a hope it can be Chan. I looked at the caller id it’s my bestfriend.
“Tina”
‘Y/N you’re free right now?” she asked
“Yes I am”
‘Let’s go out for dinner and have some fun.’
“Huh? Now? Suddenly?” I asked. I wanted to turn her offer down but then I thought it’s better to go out somewhere rather than staying at home and missing Chan and crying over him.
“I am coming, send me the address” I got excited
‘Wear something pretty, I’ll be waiting there. Be there in 30 minutes. Bye’ she hung up.
I went back to my room and started choosing one outfit. Something told me to wear white and red. I took out white dress and red sweater. I put on light makeup and didn’t forget to wear my favorite pendant and the couple ring with Chan. Somewhere deep in my heart, it told me to wear the ring because it’s a symbol that I am taken by him. I took my sling bag, my car keys, wallet and my phone and went downstairs. I wore white heels and went out.
I started driving to the address, Tina texted me. It took 20 minutes to reach there. I went there, it was a beautiful place. I looked at the view and it was decorated with red roses and different flowers, because it’s 14th February.
I started missing Chan, I wanted to meet him and started craving for his warmth. I went inside and sat on the vacant table. I called Tina but she didn’t pick up my call. I was waiting for her and then something caught my eyes. I was looking for Tina but I saw Chan coming with a bouquet of red roses; I thought I am day dreaming and I stood up because my eyes can always betray me. I could hear his footsteps and he was getting closer and closer.
“Happy Valentine’s Day baby”
He said, I blinked few times, my eyes started getting teary. I don’t know but it was teary. He gave me the bouquet, I took it.
“Awwww baby don’t cry. I am glad I made it here and how’s the surprise?”  he looked at me and I was still amazed. I hugged him tight and he hugged me back.
“I missed you Chan and thankyou for everything. For everything” I could feel he was smiling. I was just holding him too tight, “I missed you too” he said.
“I love you Chan” I looked at him.
“I love you too” he was smiling.
I tiptoed and kissed him

Chapter 23
Promotional month embarked the start of everything.  Hectic schedule, unreasonable amount of sleep time in a day, the most would be 2 hours and not to mention the studios and practice rooms would be their second home for the time being. The boys had been practicing non-stop these past few days until their official comeback early in February. This time their popularity soared higher than their previous comeback. It felt like a dream, but the boys did it. Their album sales make it digital or physical had risen drastically in comparison to previous sales.
The impact of Bangtan Sonyeondan to the industry was no joke. More people showed their support and their fanbase grew two times bigger than before in the blink of an eyes. Phenomenal indeed. Overwhelmed by the support, the boys promised to work harder this year to repay Armys’ love. Entering the last week of their You Never Walk Alone promotion, the boys were ready to start their Wings Tour around the globe. Unlike before they went to few continents depending on the demand of the respected country however this time their schedule was utilized for the first half of 2017.
Seul massaged her aching muscle and sunk on the couch with sulky face. The dorm was quiet and cold since none of the boys were home at this time.  They would only be home around dawn to get short nap before heading to their next schedule early in the morning. Following the change of their schedule, Seul would take an evening shift and went to their place right after her shift. So, she could prepare advanced breakfast for them. It became her routine to come around 2 in the morning and stayed for two hours or more, making sure the boys got a proper breakfast despite their busy schedule.
Mrs Hwang on the other hand was well informed pertaining to Seul’s unusual activity and she would make Hoon, more like force his son to pick her sister up every day from work. World is a scary place, she did not want to risk Seul’s life though that girl was the one who insisted to change her caretaking schedule out of sudden.
Glancing on her phone screen, she decided to call it a day since it was already 3 A.M and surprisingly she managed to pull her work within an hour. Seul had informed Hoon in advance so the younger guy would not pick her up considering he had exam the next day. She did not want to be blame for his bad performance later on.
“Should I watch Tae’s drama to kill time?” grinning to herself, Seul made up her mind to catch the latest episode. As she expected, the boys had recorded every episode up till the latest one.
What a supportive boyfriend!
It took Seul a moment to remember the last episode she watched, then it came to her realization she was following the drama diligently every week. Seul never missed any episode since she watched this with her mother. Of course, her mother would watch it, we were talking about her so-called adoptive son on screen.
Satisfied with her choice, Seul sat with her leg cross on the couch gleefully. She was excited to see different side of Taehyung on screen. A side which could only be seen on screen. Indeed, BTS V nailed it so perfectly. There were times Taehyung would give her a call as soon as his drama aired that particular day just to hear her opinion. She couldn’t understand why her opinion matter in this anyways.
“Seul-seul! Did you watch?” Taehyung’s voice croaked in happiness. Apart from his members comment, Taehyung anticipated Seul’s point of view every week caused him to automatically give the girl a call after a new episode aired.
Seul laughed softly at Taehyung’s weird antic “I watched it Tae” he hummed. “So how was it this week?” he chewed his lower lips knowing how bluntly honest she could be. Taehyung valued her honesty even though sometimes Seul would never leave her sassiness behind, he didn’t care. He basically grew up with Min Suga’s sarcasm so to hear something similar from Seul, he was already immune to it.
“Hurm.. do you want to hear the good one or the bad one first?” she poked fun making Taehyung pouted in his seat.
“I want to hear good one first” Seul could imagine Taehyung’s pouty lips as a protest whenever he was forced to make a complicated choice.
Pressing her lips together to suppress her laughter, Seul regained her composure to have a decent conversation with him “You are certainly better if we were to compare with the episode which you first appeared. You look natural and comfortable with your character now. As I mentioned before, I like how you portray your emotions through your deep eyes. It is not a joke. How did you do that?” she professed earnestly.
Her compliments flustered him “Urm…Thank you..You are flattering me”
“I am not..You really did well Tae. Don’t tell me you are blushing” she teased.
“YAH I AM NOT! Alright, I am ready to hear the bad one” Taehyung murmured under his breath with hope it was not as nasty as her first comment back then. “Listen carefully Kim Taehyung, I am about to say something that might hurt your heart” the tone of her voice was stern and cold.
“Ji Seul you are scaring me! Stop sounding so serious”
“I am trying to, okay give me a moment” he heard her heavy breathing at the end of the line as if she was in the middle of night work out. What was on her mind?
“Tae-ah..I think you are too adorable for me to handle. Shouldn’t Hansung be manlier?”
Taehyung gasped “Is that an insult?” her small giggle tickled his heart. “Or is it your way complimenting me?” he pressed. There were times he craved for this kind of attention from Seul, made him feel normal guy around his age. To have a simple conversation with a friend gave him tranquillity.
“Will you take that as an insult since you really hated cutesy stuff nowadays?”
“Armys think I am cute. I will live with that if it comes from Armys and you. Yah, I am serious. Tell me right now what is my flaw?” he insisted.
Seul shook her head “Couldn’t find it. You are a rookie, but you are doing great. My mom thinks your acting is real and she really into it. Don’t ask me who is her favourite character, because she is choosing you over Minho. Aren’t that too much that she’s giving extra attention on you?” Taehyung beamed.
“Why? Are you jealous that Ahjumma favours me more than you?”
“I am used to it, Bangtan boys this, Bangtan boys that. You can take my mom’s love, I have Eodeng and Eomuk to love me” he cringed at the response. “Ew, that simply means you have Jin hyung’s love. Those two brats are the mini Kim Seokjin” she rolled her eyes in process.
She retorted sarcastically “Who are you calling brat? You are the brat!”
She found herself smiling at the memories, being with Taehyung made her comfortable. Something that she could feel whenever she’s with Jin and Hoseok. Returning her attention back to the screen, Seul watched the drama and clasped her hand excitedly.  A silly smile would appear on her face every time Taehyung appeared on screen along with small awe in between.
Few months ago, she ridiculed the power of Bangtan Sonyeondan on her now as time passed it slowly turned her into a fan. Guess, she was being supportive of her friends.
Yes, supportive sounds fitting.
 ------------------
“Sejin hyung quick quick my bladder is about to explode” Jimin whiney voice filled the emptiness of the hallway. Other members stood sleepily behind him. Meanwhile, Jimin was getting impatient to finish his business inside. “Gosh, why are you so whiney” he pressed the button hurriedly, entering the password.
As soon as Jimin heard the beep, he squished his small body between the door and Sejin and ran inside ignoring the older guy that were already pressed against the wall.“That kid!” Sejin hissed while shaking his head. He gave a soft pat on Jungkook back, making the maknae moved inside with a big yawn “Get some sleep everyone, you need to be ready in 4 hours” he ordered.
Jungkook screeched softly feeling his muscle stiffened at the sight before him “Seul?” he stared in disbelief. Sleeping peacefully on the couch was Seul with Hwarang still running in the background. A soft smile spread across his face since the last time he saw her was two weeks ago. He almost lost his balance when he felt someone crashed against his body from back, Kim Taehyung groaned in frustration.
“Yah, Gukkie why are you blocking the way” his bangs were poking his eyes making it hard for him to see the obstacle in front of him. Furthermore, in this sleepy state everything appeared irrelevant to him except for his comfortable bed. Confused, Taehyung’s eyes followed Jungkook and upon it landed on Seul’s figure, his eyes widened in sheer surprise.
“Seul? Seul is here?” he spoke lowly fully aware that their manager was still there.
“What should we do? Sejin hyung is here!” Jungkook started to panic. The hyungs made their entrance with questionable look but soon they gawked at the scene in front of them. It would be a huge trouble if their manager found out about Seul. The chances of her being fired was high.
It is 5 A.M why is she not home? Yoongi cursed, taking a glance at Sejin whom thankfully still at the doorstep gathering bags in process. Everyone was trying to come up with ways to hide Seul or to face Sejin’s wrath in a minute. Without wasting any time, Taehyung marched forward taking Seul in his arm casually surprising everybody in the room.
“What are you doing?” Yoongi inquired with concern look.
“We need to hide her”
“Yes, but where?”
“Lets just bring her to my room” Taehyung suggested earning a low protest from Yoongi and Jin. Nonetheless, they followed him afterwards.
Seul stirred in her sleep a little and snuggled her face at the crook of his neck, liking the familiar smell and warmth. Even in her sleep, she knew how to play with his heart. Taehyung tried to control himself from smiling foolishly as his main concern right now was to hide Seul from Sejin.
“I will distract Sejin hyung” Jungkook blurted out and quickly dashed to the main door followed by Hoseok behind. Namjoon and Jin assisted Taehyung to his room, opening the door for him so he could move Seul to safer place.
“Hyung I forgot my headphones!” “Me too I forgot my-my game console!” Hoseok and Jungkook hollered in unison causing the older guy to eye them suspiciously.
He wiggled his finger to his headphone which hang loosely around his neck “That is your headphone Hobi and as for you Jungkook, I didn’t see you play any games today let alone having your game console with you” closing the door behind him, he placed the bags on the floor.
Hoseok gulped nervously exchanging nervous look with Jungkook “Urm…Sorry I seem to forget, but really I forgot something in the van!” he tried his luck one more time to convince Sejin. They knew it was not easy to lie on his face since he could read them so easily. Their manager knew when the boys were hiding something, like right now.
“I smell fear and lies. What are you hiding from me?” he quirked his brows prying answers out from the two boys before him.
“Nothing, nothing” Jungkook palmed his hand against the wall awkwardly with a sheepish smile. He heard the commotion behind him meaning the hyungs were doing something about Seul, though he had no idea how much time they needed for him to stall their manager.
“If it is nothing, why are you blocking my way? Is there something that I shouldn’t see?”
Hoseok held both his palm out while cracking a nervous chuckle in between “Jimin.. I mean Jimin peed in his pant and it is disgusting. We have to clean the floor first. It is dirty, you can’t walk” Hoseok facepalmed at his idiotic ideas. It sounded ridiculous.
“YAH WHO PEED IN PANTS?” clueless Jimin exited the bathroom as his eyes threw daggers at Hoseok way. Hoseok grinded his teeth together chasing Jimin away from the scene but of course he would not budge even an inch. Park Jimin was persistent to begin with. He never let anyone taint his name.
Jungkook rubbed the back of his head in frustration ‘Jimin-ssi, can you be a little cooperative. Why out of all time’ the manager did not buy the boys lies so he forced himself inside. Being tall giving him advantage to dominate the boys. His eyes scanned the empty living room with suspicion whilst Jimin, Jungkook and Hoseok were having their secret banter behind.
“The caretaker came to clean the place?” he noticed the cleanliness of the place as he made his way to the kitchen. “I guess…” Hoseok murmured silently.
“Jimin-ssi, Seul is here we are trying to stall him! You are ruining the plan” Jungkook whispered under his breath making the shorter guy gasped realizing his own mistake. When he dashed inside, he didn’t catch a glimpse of anyone in the dorm. If and only he realized it sooner this thing could be prevented. The three musketeers kept their eyes on the manager hyung whom busy inspecting every corner of their place.
Namjoon, Jin and Yoongi exited Taehyung’s room as their eyes spotted the three boys stood in line with their hands neatly together, they shot them a bewildered look “Yah are you crazy! Don’t act suspicious, hyung might find out!” Namjoon scowled lowly afraid that the older guy overheard him.
“Get into your room now and act naturally” Jin mouthed them. The three musketeers scurried off almost bumping into each other before each of them got into their room without trouble. The sound of heavy footstep alarmed the remaining members, and they decided to avoid their manager at all cost.
On the other hand, Taehyung had already changed into his pyjamas in order to appear more convincing in case their manager decided to appear magically in his room. From time to time he threw a nervous glance at the door feared to witness an unwelcoming sight. Judging from the message in their group chat, Sejin was inspecting every nook and cranny of the dorm started from Jungkook. Taehyung’s room is a room away from him that scared the shit out of him.
He stared at Seul while trying to find perfect way to hide her from their manager. “Screw this” caressing his fluffy hair out of frustration, he turned off the main light and slipped under the cover beside Seul. Taehyung bit his lower lips, apologizing non-stop since he was about to initiate something inappropriate. The girl was unconscious, and he was literally touching her without her consent.
She will understand, she will. Taehyung prayed in his head that Seul would not wake up until this nerve wrecking scene ended.
“Fuck” his eyes rounded upon seeing the shadow behind the creak of his door. Using his long hand to reach the lamp on his night stand, he switched off swiftly. Taehyung pulled the cover under his chin, wrapping one of his arm securely around Seul’s waist. His heart pounded due to the proximity and it doubled when he heard Sejin’s footstep approaching his room.
His body froze when he felt Seul making a slight move in his embrace. On the bright side, she’s not awake however her face was buried deeply in his chest. The heavy lump on his throat caused his breath to hitch.
Ji Seul, what are you.
“Taehyung-ah, are you asleep” Taehyung snapped out his thought, and brought Seul’s body closer to him. He shut his eyes tight pretended to sleep with hope they wouldn’t get caught by their manager today. Not today, they couldn’t risk losing Seul.
Sejin twisted the door knob, poking his head inside. He squeezed his eyes to adjust to the darkness “Guess, he is asleep. That was fast” he mumbled. Taehyung’s mind overloaded with negative thoughts and his heart thumped crazily that he swore the eerie silence in his room adding the tension. The sound of the footsteps sounded so close yet unclear. He was sure it was just few steps closer from his bed. Like a reflex, Taehyung tightened his arm around Seul’s keeping her close.
Exasperating a soft sigh, he was relieved when the sound of the footsteps faded away. The soft slam came from the door convinced Taehyung that his manager had left the room, yet he did not want risk getting caught, so he stayed like a statue for few minutes. Taehyung grinned upon hearing Sejin’s faint voice behind the door “Park Jimin, I told you to sleep. Why are you still standing there?” Sejin frowned.
Jimin cleared his throat awkwardly “Is..Tae asleep?”
“Yes, his room is dark, and I bet he is asleep”
“D-d-dark what?” Jimin continued to curse something vulgar in his head. After finding out Seul was in Taehyung’s room he couldn’t help but to worry. It triggered his protective instinct and jealousy. He couldn’t let his guard down just because Taehyung is his best friend even though Tae was never vocal about his feelings for Seul, his man’s instinct could not be wrong. Something bloomed whenever they were together.
The older guy snapped him out from his deep thought “What is wrong with you? Go sleep and stop worrying about Tae. Clock is ticking Jiminie, you don’t want to miss even an hour worth of sleep” he exclaimed.
“Fine, I am sleeping” his lower lips puckered out of habit.
“I will be here around 10, make sure everyone is ready by then” Jimin nodded obediently and threw a final glance at Taehyung’s door. Everything will be fine, Jimin convinced his racing heart.
 ----------------
Groggily, Seul forced her heavy lids to open and that when she realized the unusual warmth behind her. Seul squinted her eyes one last time in order for her foggy brain to function properly. A small light from the curtain illuminated the dark room but was not enough for Seul to get a clear view of it. On top of all, she was beyond relief that her outfits were still intact, remain untouchable. Meaning no funny business happened. At least, she was not kidnapped by some sasaeng fans, she hoped.
‘I swear I was in the living room watching Hwarang’ she grew frustrated of her failure in retrieving her memory. Seul couldn’t recall whether the boys were back home or not. Shrugging her unimportant thought away, Seul fisted the sheets under her gathering her courage to face the individual behind her.
Seul, move slowly don’t wake up the tiger.
Shifting under the sheet, she changed her position slightly to face Taehyung. In 3,2,1 she was ready to see whoever beside her but to her surprise, someone was cradling her head halting her earlier intention to catch the culprit.
“Seul, you awake?” his voice trailed off. She recognized that voice.
Seul touched his hand “Jungkook?” she whispered in daze.
His low yet squeaky chuckle made her smile “Yes, it is me. Come on let’s get up quietly. We don’t want to wake Tae hyung” Jungkook stroked his hand down to her waist, slowly sweeping her off from the bed.
Setting Seul down on the ground, she inquired “Tae? I am in his room. How?” Jungkook let out another adorable giggle, embracing her tight. “You fell asleep while watching hyung’s drama. Let’s talk outside” while keeping Seul in his embrace, they exited Taehyung’s room at ease.
She pulled away making an abrupt stop facing the giggly maknae, why was he in good mood today. “Tell me why I am in Tae’s room? I thought I was kidnapped!” she pursed her lips in annoyance.
“Sejin hyung was here, so we had no choice but to hide you”
“Hiding me in Taehyung’s room? How clever” she wheezed.
“Then you wish to be in my room instead?” Jungkook look amused as playful smirk spread on his handsome face.
She squirmed under his intense gaze “I didn’t mean it that way, you could wake me up. I can hide in the closet and leave afterwards” he sent a disapproval glare at her way.
“No way we are making you walk alone at that time, now stop complaining” he took few steps forward, pulling the sulky girl into another tight hug. Jungkook nuzzled the top of her head, exhaling a low sigh “I miss you” he murmured.
Her heart did the weird dance again, “You woke up early today, I thought you were not an early riser” she wrapped her arms around him, returning the hug with equal passion. “You think I can sleep knowing you’re sleeping on the same bed as Tae hyung?” he said sulkily.
Seul giggled “Are you jealous? Then, I blame it on you for letting Tae got into the way” her tease making the visible frown on his forehead two times thicker. She looked up “Aigoo, you may develop wrinkles at this age” her hand smoothed his eyebrows, giving it a soft caress along the shape.
Closing his eyes with a soft hum, Jungkook let himself drown under Seul’s magic touch “You are losing your baby fat again. I don’t like that” she gave his cheek a soft stroke with a slight frown.
“Don’t worry I will earn that back after our promotion ended. Besides, I had a good breakfast every day thanks to you. Did you come late at night for your work just to prepare those meal for us?” he pecked her fingers, interlacing it with his.
“You guys are barely home so I thought it is wise to change my caretaking schedule a little. On the bright side, I can prepare breakfast for you guys. I bet Jin had no time to prepare proper food for all of you, I don’t want to wear him out” her eyes glimmered in concern. The mere thought of filling seven empty stomach washed away the worries in her.
Jungkook protested “But that’s mean you will be walking home alone, and it is not safe”
“About that, my mom made Hoon picked me up from work every day. Don’t worry, I will be fine. Worry about yourself, you need to eat healthily. Stop skipping meals” she cringed. “I saw your Vlive, all of you look dead tired. And, I am sorry I couldn’t make it to your Wings tour last week. I had to fill in for Sera” she sighed.
His hand skimmed, featherlight, over her shoulders “It is okay, it is just the opening tour this year, I will make sure you attend the next one. Hobi hyung and Jin hyung were not happy that you couldn’t make it to our concert. However since you bribed them with food the day after, they lowkey claimed that it was okay for you not to attend as long as you prepared yummy food to make it up to them” she chuckled at their silliness.
“As expected, how easy it was to persuade those two. Don’t remind me the long ass text that they sent to me showing off their protest and resentment” Seul’s face scrunched a little at the vivid memories. Jungkook laughed along and the couple continued their conversation in the kitchen. Seul reheat the food for the boys to savour when they woke up with Jungkook’s help.
“I think I need to go before your manager come. Oh, say hi to everyone” she hung her apron carefully and gathered her belongings. Meanwhile, Jungkook continued to sulk behind, “Can’t you stay for breakfast? It is still early, hyung will be here around 10” his voice was a little more than a whisper but in cutesy way.
She flashed him a soft smile “I can’t Jungkook maybe next time. I have an errand to run” he watched her back as she made her way to the entrance. “I want to meet you again before we fly off to America next month” Jungkook leaned against the wall with one hand inside his pocket.
She saw the disappointment in his eyes, so she walked up to him. Dazed Jungkook set his eyes on Seul as the girl tiptoed a little giving a soft peck on his lips “There. I will see you around, don’t miss me too much” a sweet rush of embarrassment coursed through Jungkook.
“O..kay..” his eyes sparkled causing Seul to chuckle. Jungkook might be a little blunt in showing his affection towards her, but whenever she initiated the skinship first, the guy would turn into a total baby.
Seul was about to push the door getting ready to leave but only to be greeted by Sejin’s confused face. She felt an extreme fear in her system, was she caught for real now? Fuck, she muttered.
“Who are you?” he pushed the door wider to see Jungkook stood frozen behind Seul with an extremely disturbed face.
“Hyung…You are urm.. early?” his voice broke into a small shriek.
Quirking his eyebrows, the older guy stepped inside closing the door behind him carefully “You have a long explanation to do Jeon Jungkook. To the lounge now. I want everyone in the room. 5 minutes” his voice was rough and Seul felt like pissing in her jeans.
Seul swallowed a heavy lump on her throat “When I said everyone, that includes you Miss” he pushed the glass back on the bridge of his nose, leaving astounded Jungkook and Seul behind. Jungkook made eye contact with Seul and they exchanged looks of panic and questions.

Jin Scenario| He realizes he’s fallen for you while on tour
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You better text me every day while you’re gone!”
“Ah, y/n quit treating me like you’re my mom! I’ll be fine! This isn’t the first time I have left and it won’t be the last.”
“I know but.. I just worry about you Jin. You fly all the time, you’re traveling all over the world. You’re my best friend how am I not supposed to worry about you?” You’re waiting at the gate with the guys, waiting for their flight to leave. They have begun boarding but Jin had insisted on spending time with you until the last minute. The members already in their seats and ready for take off.
“Umm. Excuse me Mr. Kim? We’re ready to take off now but we just need you in your seat sir.” The flight attendant bows and walks away hurriedly back onto the plane. Jin is still standing with you at the gate entrance. The realization that he has to leave you now is making him feel more sad than normal, his skin feels like it’s itchy and he doesn't want to leave you.
“Have a safe flight. Let me know when you land okay?” You step closer to him and wrap your arms around him, hugging him tightly. Jin returns your hug and tightens his grip when you try to pull away. You chuckle and settle into his embrace.  “What’s gotten into you, Jin? You’re never this clingy with me.”
“I don’t know. I just feel like I am really going to miss you.”
“And you didn’t miss me the other times? I’m offended.” He pushes you away playfully, laughing as he does.
“Shut up you know I miss you more than anything when I’m gone. It’s weird not having your incessant pestering and nagging.” You smack his shoulder and he laughs at you again, the flight attendant is back, looking rather impatient at the two of you.
“Alright get going, Jin.” You kiss his cheek and he feels his ears turning red, he’s thankful his hair has grown out and covers the tops of them.
“Bye y/n. I love you.”
“I love you too. Bye!” You wave as you are walking backwards away from him. Jin continues to watch you until you are completely out of sight. The moment he steps onto the plane all of the members are staring at him.
“What?”
“Whipped.” Yoongi says with a smirk on his face.
“Show some respect to your elder you brat.”
“Whatever you say whipped hyung.”
“Why I oughta-”
“Mr. Kim please take your seat we are ready to go now.”
“Okay okay! Sorry!” He takes his seat and settles into the chair, pulling out his phone and seeing he already has a message from you.
Please don’t forget to text me when you land. Miss you already. Jin feels butterflies surge in his stomach when he reads the message.
I won’t forget. We’re leaving now so it’ll be a few hours.
He puts his phone down and stares out the window, trying to figure why suddenly his chest hurts when he’s away from you, why your kiss on his cheek sent a shock through his body, why your hug made him feel like butterflies were going to erupt from his stomach. Deep down he know why, but he wasn’t about to admit that to anyone. Especially not to himself. He pushed his feelings for you deep down into the recesses of his heart, never to see the light of day.
Except the longer he’s away from you the harder it is. He texts you every day, just as promised and tries to video call with you at least a few times a week. He gives you updates often, telling you how his shows are going, sometimes he video calls you when he has time off and is out and about in the city just being a tourist, claiming that he wants to feel like you are there with him enjoying the sights too, because he knows how much you love to travel. Not because he misses you to death and wishes you were there with him, of course.
It’s a month into their tour now and Jin feels like he’s going to burst if he has to be away from you for a second longer. He’s becoming more irritable, snapping at the members for stupid little things. He becomes more reclusive, staying in his hotel room while everyone else goes out and has fun. His energy level has been down on stage too. Some of the fans are beginning to notice something is off but he can’t bring himself to put that fake smile on his face. He misses you too much.
He’s laying down in the hotel room now, the rest of the members having gone out for dinner and promising to bring something back for him as they have been recently. He’s staring up at the ceiling when there is a knock on his door. He opens it and finds Taehyung standing out there.
“Uh, Tae? Is everything okay? I thought you went to dinner?”
“I need to talk to you.”
“Sure thing.” He steps aside as Taehyung makes himself at home and immediately flops onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling and letting out a heavy sigh.
“What’s going on with you hyung? You aren’t acting like yourself. Everyone is worried about you.. did something happen between you and y/n?” Jin tenses up when Taehyung mentions your name.
“What makes you think this has anything to do with her?”
“Because I saw how sad you looked when you were hugging y/n goodbye. Something changed between the two of you when you left this time.” Jin is usually thankful for how easy Taehyung is able to read peoples’ emotions, but this time he’s finding himself a little annoyed that he saw right through him so easily.
“I guess.. yeah it does have something to do with her.” Jin lays down on the bed too.
“You want to talk about it?” Jin takes a deep breath as he lets all of the emotions and feelings he has towards you bubble to the surface, unable to keep them away any longer.
“I love her. God I’m such a cliche in love with my best friend. I didn’t realize it until after we left. I miss her, I always miss her but this time it’s way worse than normal because I feel like I missed my chance with her. I should have told her before I left. Now while I am gone what if she finds someone else? I won’t be back for another month that’s plenty of time for her to fall in love with another guy..” Jin let’s all of his worries and fears out in one breath. Taehyung just lays there and listens, like the good friend he always has been. When Jin finally finishes Taehyung opens his mouth to say something but snaps it closed, pulling out his phone instead. “Taehyung now is not the time to be on your phone when I just confessed my crisis of being in love with y/n!”
“Shh wait a minute Jin hyung.”
“Don’t you shush me what are you even doing?!”
“Have you checked y/n’s instagram lately?”
“No??? Why??” Taehyung tosses his phone at him and scrolls through your recent photos. In one you’re pouting at the camera with a caption that reads When your soulmate leaves you. In another post you’re laying down on your bed, clearly sighing in frustration. When your best friend is gone and you don’t know what to do with yourself. The one from this morning is a photo of you, cuddling with the RJ plushie he had given you for your birthday last year. Missing you <3 Guess this plushie will just have to do for now until you get back and I can cuddle you all I want.
Jin nearly drops his phone in shock at the last one.
“Still think y/n is going to forget about you? Because it sounds to me like she misses you just as much as you miss her.”
“She might not be talking about me..”
“She’s holding the RJ plushie you got her for your birthday what the hell do you mean she might not be talking about you?!”
“Okay! Okay you’re right but I won’t be back for another month. I don’t want to confess to her over the phone or text message that’s just stupid.”
“Then think of another way, hyung. You’re smart I’m sure you’ll think of something. But! From now on no more cranky Jin! He doesn’t leave this hotel room you hear me?”
“Sure thing Tae.” Taehyung gets off the bed, walking towards the hotel room door.
“Hey Taehyung?”
“Hmm?”
“Thank you..”
Taehyung nods and then walks out of the room and Jin is looking at your posts again when suddenly he has an idea. He grabs a pillow and hugs it close to his chest, snapping a selfie, but deciding it isn’t good enough. He spends the next half hour trying to get the right angle and lighting for the photo. When he finally finds one that he is happy with he posts it to their official twitter account. He leaves the caption vague, hoping you’ll realize it was meant for you. I miss you! I’ll be back before you know it. Please wait for me. The comments flood in from army, saying how sweet Jin is for missing them and that they’ll always be here waiting for him. A few moments later Jin’s phone chimes with a text message from you. He’s too nervous to read it though, afraid of what your reaction will be. Jin presses Taehyung’s contact number in his phone.
“Hyung?”
“Tae! Come back here please.”
“What? Why did something happen?”
“Y/n texted me but I am too nervous to read it. I want you to read it for me and tell me if it’s good or bad?”
“Yah you’re crazy you know that? Just read the damn message!”
“I can’t Taehyung please..” He hears a sigh on the other end of the phone and moment later he’s knocking on his door again. Jin opens the door and practically shoves his phone into Taehyung’s face. He reads the message, and Jin sees a smile slowly spread across his face.
“What? What does it say?!”
“Hmm I don’t know Jin you were soooo nervous are you sure you want to know what y/n said?”
“Is it good or bad?”
“It’s good.” He hands the phone back to him and Jin reads the message.
I’ll always wait for you.
He feels his heart absolutely soar reading your message. He doesn’t respond, just knowing that you understood his message is enough for him.
Tumblr media
The next few weeks pass by in a blur. You two continue to talk after that like nothing had changed. Jin still video calls you while he is going around the cities, he still texts you every chance he gets. He’s now on a plane back home, anxiously waiting to land so he can finally confess to you properly face to face. He isn’t expecting you to be there waiting for him when he steps off the plane. You told him you had to work until the evening but promised to go out to dinner together. Seeing you standing there catches Jin off guard.
“Y/n?! What are you doing here I thought you had to work?”
“I wanted to surprise you. You really didn’t think I would schedule myself to work on the day you were coming back did you?” Jin smiles at you and immediately tugs you into his arms for a hug. He doesn’t care that there are paparazzi snapping photos of the two of you. He’s been waiting to have you back in his arms for months now and he isn’t going to wait a moment longer.
“Welcome home, Jin I’m glad you got home safely.”
“Me too.. Can we go somewhere and talk for a bit?”
“Sure. Where?” Jin glances around the airport and quickly realizes it’s not going to be here. He grabs your hand and tugs you along with him, he doesn’t stop until he reaches their cars and pulls you inside with him.
“Um.. am I being kidnapped?”
“Temporarily yes.” You laugh and settle into Jin’s side and lay your head on his shoulder. The other members are smiling fondly at you as the van pulls away and heads back to their apartment.
“Hyung, we’ll go out to eat and give you and y/n some time alone okay?” He nods, thankful that the other members are willing to make a sacrifice like this for him. He knows how tired they are and that they probably would rather just lay in bed and eat takeout.
“So what did you want to talk to me about that’s so important everyone else had to leave?” You smile shyly at him before sitting down on the couch. Jin takes the spot next to you.
“Well.. I just.. Okay I saw your posts..”
“Yes?”
“And I realized something while I was gone..”
“Okay?”
“I missed you a lot.”
“I missed you too.”
“But more.. than how a friend should miss their friend. I found myself wanting nothing more than to hug you, hold you, and it made me heart hurt to be away from you. Like, my chest physically hurt when I had to leave you at the airport. And it wasn’t until I was in the air already on my way to another country I realized something.”
“And what would that be?”
“That I am hopelessly in love with my best friend. That I want nothing more than to be here with you, kissing you, cuddling with you, keeping you safe in my arms.” Every word that comes out of his mouth you find yourself smiling wider and wider until you feel like your cheeks are going to fall off. “Please tell me you feel the same way and I wasn’t reading your posts wrong.. Please tell me I didn’t just ruin our friendship.” You lean in and capture his lips in a quick kiss.
“I do feel the same way. I love you too. I have for a while now but I was too afraid to confess outright. But then when you left I found myself feeling like I couldn’t wait months to tell you how I felt so I made those posts hoping you would be able to see the feelings I was trying to show.”
“I did see them. Although I gotta admit I was a little jealous of RJ.” You laugh and Jin smiles, loving the sound of it.
“You were jealous of a stuffed animal?! You got him for me!”
“I know that! But he got to cuddle with you every night and I didn’t!” You continue to let out giggles and Jin finds himself laughing along with you.
“Well you know I would have much rather had it be you.”
“Well I’m, here now. And you can cuddle me all you want that’s what these broad shoulders were made for.” Jin lays back on the arm rest of the couch and pulls you to lay against him. You lay your head on his chest, listening to the quiet thumping of his heart.
“I’m glad you’re back.”
“I’m happy to be back too. There’s no better feeling than being able to hold you in my arms, just like this.” You nuzzle into his chest and before long you start to drift off to sleep, finally in the arms of the man you love.

Maze of Miroh- Chapter 19: The Battle for The Under Pt 2
I have a somewhat long announcement guys so bear with me here.
Ahhh hey guys. I got a lot of reasonings as to why this chapter is so late. First, I started Uni again, and its been an adjustment. Two, some internal issues at work caused me to break down in a complete depression spiral. For about 3 whole weeks I cried at work at least once a day haha. Finally, and this was more recent, but the rumors regarding Woojin.  I started this story of May 2019, before Woojin left, and afterwards I vowed I would continue to write him in my story despite no longer being in the group. But this issue it totally different in its entirety. Regardless if they are true or not (and we don't know that they are or not) the way he has handled the whole thing did not sit right with me. This topic hits close home for me as it is and I contemplated removing Woojin from my story all together to avoid making you guys feel uncomfortable as well as myself because it is such a serious trigger. As more rumors came out about his treatment towards the others members and what not I suddenly got a sick feeling in my stomach about him in general. When news first broke out I just wanted to go on in the story, never writing his name again and just totally drooping his character. I thought about telling everyone to not think of these characters as stray kids members and keep him in. But as I've had time to calm down and come to my own decision about the matter, I've decided that I will write him in this story for only this chapter and possibly next. I will be removing him from this story in a plot driven way and I would like you all to respect my decision on this matter. If it comes out later on that he is innocent of all his has been accused, then hey, *shrugs*. But I would rather that than me continue to write such a compassionate and kind character for someone who has lost their way in this regards. I just personally do not feel comfortable at this moment writing him in. Which really sucks because he was such an important part of this arc lol. Anyways, If I have offended you all by my way of removing Woojin from this story I am truly sorry. Again I thought about just totally pretending his character never existed in the first place. But as a writer, it didn't sit right with me.
With that, I have to tweak the story a bit, but I hope you enjoy this little update. Next update is nearly done (Actually this chapter was originally like 3 times longer, but I decided to cut it up.) Have a good night!
The Under:
To say Jisung was in a bad mood was a complete understatement.
All they were supposed to do was get down here, get the information they needed from Dowoon and get the fuck out.
There weren't supposed to be any psychotic speed demons, nor an emo Legolas wannabe with a stick up his ass. And there CERTAINLY wasn’t supposed to be any Virus.
Jisung furrowed his brow as their group ran towards the outer city limits. He looked behind him to see Minho straggling a few feet to the side, the older boy's eyes focused on the road in front of them. Jisung clicked the roof of his mouth with his tongue in annoyance before he turned back around to look at the buildings in front of them.
If only the others knew what they were going through. Jisung almost laughed  imagining the raging meltdown both Changbin and Seungmin would have had in reaction to their current situation. They both are used to Chan’s more risky judgments, being in the group for as long as they had. Oh, if they could see us now….
He let out a long-winded sigh of defeat. They should have left when they had the chance.
But alas, he was being the selfish one here, and his other members had to be heroes incarnate, risking their lives for a group of people who they barely knew…Woojin hyung aside.  And in return, it would be up to Jisung to protect them all since they were all so infuriatingly reckless.
Nope definitely not annoyed....
Jisung’s ears perked as he heard a voice call out to them as they moved closer to the edge of the city. His eyes adjusted forward to see Wooyoung looking back at them, mouth moving as he voiced a command to them. Right away, the team came to an halt as they reached the first signs of buildings, and Wooyoung turned to look back at them, his eyes dark and hard with determination.
“Since some of you don’t know how our city is set up, we will split up in groups.” he explained “Mingi will go with Minho to the eastern section of the city, while Jisung and I will head to the north… Jongho, you'll be in the west.”
Wooyoung’s voice faded from Jisung’s mind as he felt his blood run icy cold at Wooyoung’s words. Now his annoyance was being overwritten by fear. This was exactly what he was afraid of… they were splitting up.
“Hyung,” Wooyoung seemingly continued, looking towards Woojin “since you know the city, can you head to the center? Our 3 teams will have to work fast, ushering the people back here towards the southern part of the city where the bunker is.”
Jisung shook himself back to the present and looked to see that while his eyes were hard with determination, he didn’t miss the way Wooyoung’s hands trembled at his sides. He regarded the older boy with a wave of understanding and sympathy.
No matter how you look at it, we are working in a helpless situation… At Least he has the good sense to be scared…
But that begs the question. What about him? Was he scared? He was annoyed, that was for sure. But it didn’t take a genius to know his annoyance was just a mask, trying to hide his own fear.  No matter what, the odds did not look favorable.  5 of them trying to evacuate an entire city on their own? Working with a timer that they didn’t even know what it’s set at?
No thanks, I want a refund.
Woojin must have sensed Jisung’s negativity, for he set his eyes on the younger, giving out a small, knowing cough to gain his attention. He looked up and  locked eyes with Woojin, seeing the elder boy give him a half smile, like he was trying to reassure him.
“It won’t be easy,” he said out loud, tearing his gaze from Jisung’s and towards the party. “It will take all of our best efforts, but remember what Hongjoong said. No one has permission to die here and I am seconding that.”
The younger boys all stared at the older boy, their gaze turning hard with determination. Only Jisung looked apprehensive as he stared at his two teammates, and he found himself looking particularly in the direction of their green-horned Minho, who was still very much a novice in this world.
Jisung thought back to just a few hours ago in their shared room and Minho’s words caused Jisung’s brain to short circuit.
__
“Jisung, no matter what obstacle, what problem and what path leads in front of you, I believe with every fiber of my being that you will come out on top.”
__
God I really hope he is right….
If he was going to save the city and keep Minho alive he was going to need all the luck in the world.
Minho’s words replayed in his mind as he caught sight of Mingi making his way over to the brown haired boy. It was then that Minho himself seemed to feel Jisung’s gaze, and looked back, staring evenly. Jisung noticed with a twitch in his face, Minho’s soft eyes showing the slightest of fear to him. But before Jisung could do anything, Minho quickly covered it up with a misplaced resolve.
The younger grit his teeth in annoyance, knowing that look all too well. He saw it enough in his brother when they were kids and enough times in Chan and the others to last him a lifetime.
I swear to god he wants me to hate him...
Nothing made Jisung madder than a beautiful idiot with a death wish....
And Minho was all three.
There were a few exchanges between Wooyoung and the others, but all too quickly it was over and Jisung felt an arm ripping him from the circle, and thus tearing him from Minho’s gaze.
“Come on” Wooyoung muttered quickly “We have the furthest distance needed to travel. There is no time to waste.”
Just like that, Jisung was pulled from his fellow members, his stomach churning at the thought of being separated from them in a situation like theirs. If he isn’t there to stop them from being complete idiots, then who was?
Yep. Definitely annoyed.
“Fuck...” he cursed under his breath as he turned his back around, leaving the group behind as the both picked up speed. Jisung closed his eyes, sending a silent prayer to whatever god lived above to listen to his plea.
“Keep the idiots with a deathwish safe….please…”
Minho
Minho watched as Wooyoung dragged Jisung away, an uneasy feeling in his stomach starting to make its way upwards. He hated being separated just as much as Jisung probably felt.  But he couldn’t argue with Wooyoung’s logic, nor could he back down from the task at hand.
He was going to save as many people as possible and show The Order that their time of winning was over.
Minho jumped slightly as he felt a hand on his shoulder, turning to see Woojin give him a comforting smile. “Jisung will be alright Minho,” he said, as if he knew his thoughts. “If anyone can take care of themselves, it’s Jisung.”
“Yah.” Minho agreed with a quick nod of his head.”You’re right.”
“Minho!” Mingi called “You ready? We need to get going!”
Minho turned to the taller boy who was standing next to Jongho and nodded  “Ready”
Woojin took a step forward, brushing his shoulder with Minho’s as a form of comfort. “Take care of him Mingi, he is our important member and friend...lord knows what Felix would do to me if I lost him on this mission.”
Mingi snorted playfully “I don’t know who that is, but as long as he can keep up we will be fine.” He then turned towards Jongho, placing two hands on his shoulders “Be safe little one.”
Minho almost laughed as he watched Jongho look up at the taller boy with a mildly annoyed face, “You know I can kick your ass right?” he asked the taller boy.
Mingi was unfazed as he waved a hand in the air. “Details Details” he said with a smile, motioning for Minho to follow him. If Jongho had heard his comment, the youngest made no notion of it, and turned back around, heading in his own direction.
As they ran further and further from the others he couldn’t help but shake a deep feeling of dread. Minho turned his gaze backwards to look at Woojin’s fleeting figure and he felt his heart tightening in his chest. Something didn’t didn’t feel right.
“Tch!” Minho growled to himself mentally “No. I won’t psych myself out this time!”
This was it. This was another chance to do good, and prove to himself that he CAN do what is needed to be done. No more hiding. No more cowardice. Minho had to make a difference here or his promise to Jeongwoo would be meaningless.
The two of them went on for a few minutes in complete silence, but eventually Minho could feel Mingi’s gaze on him and he turned his head slightly to glance back.
“What?” was all he asked.
“How new?” he asked.
Minho's eyes widened in confusion, turning to get a better look at the bigger boy “Excuse me?”
Mingi chuckled, his gaze turning back to the road in front of them “I mean how new are you to this harsh world of fighting?”
Minho felt his cheeks warm in embarrassment at the question, and he quickly looked at the ground in front of him, sheepish. “Is it that obvious?” he mewed quietly.
Mingi laughed louder this time, throwing two hands in the air in kindness “Not really.” he chuckled “I mean just the fact that you beat San shows you have skills.” He said encouragingly. “I just ask because your members treat you like you're fragile… something you only really do when you are new to this world.”
Minho nodded, trying to calm down from his mild dose of embarrassment. “You can say that again….” he mused.
Mingi smiled at him and gave him a toothy grin “Well the others might not say it, but just the fact that you are against The Order makes you a friend to me!”
Minho’s eyes widened and he nearly smiled at the boy’s pure words. “I thought The Under were neutral when it came to The Order…” He said with a puzzled look. ”You neither give them support but neither do you fight against them… isn’t that right?”
But the younger boy shrugged rather casually, “That is the standard” he explained “But it doesn’t necessarily mean we all agree with it. Hongjoong hyung...” Mingi trailed off, like he was contemplating saying his next words.
“Truthfully….” the taller boy continued more slowly “If it were up to Hongjoong Hyung… We would have liked nothing more than to go the surface, to make The Under more than just a lawless city, that in which is suffocating in the mud and dirt down here.” Mingi turned and gazed at Minho, with the first sense of intensity he caught all day “He wants a better future for the children born down here, something we didn’t get.”
Minho looked at him, pondering his words for a few seconds, and trying to understand the underlying problem. Suddenly Chan’s words flashed through his mind.
“ If we even wanted a chance at overthrowing The Order, then we needed allies. Strong allies at that... “
Minho looked towards Mingi, face pure and honest “If given the chance... Would you fight back? And I mean seriously fight back...”
Mingi gazed back at him, noticing the serious expression on his face, nodding once. “Aye.”
Minho felt a wave of weight being lifted from him and he gave Mingi an earnest smile “Then maybe one day we will.”
It fell into a comfortable silence after that, but Minho couldn’t help but smile now as they ran. This was his first real interaction with another member besides San, and it left him hopeful that they could work together in the future. If they were all like Mingi and Hongjoong that is…
But before he could romance the idea any further, Minho’s smile dropped as he began to hear yelling in the far distance. Screams began to fill his ears and Minho realized with a thump to his heart that they were finally reaching an area with people. As they rounded the corner his eyes widened wide with alarm at the sight of crowds of people rushing forwards, carrying their young ones and belongings as they pushed towards the center. There was no order to it. It was chaotic and messy.
Exactly what Zico wanted.
Minho looked to Mingi who was also looking at the sight with a grim expression on his face. No matter how you looked at it, just two of them controlling this crowd was nearly impossible. It wasn’t going to be easy whatsoever.
But they had to start somewhere.
Mingi rushed forward then, aiming towards a herd of people, easily outpacing them and stopping at the front of them with his arms stretched wide as a blockade. There were a few shocked gasps but also a few who recognized the young boy almost immediately.
“Mingi-ssi!?” Minho heard a voice from the mass call  “What are you doing?! Why are you stopping us?!”
Mingi looked at the crowd, his face dead serious. “Despite what Zico said, protocol calls for all evacuations to take place in the southern bunker!” he tried to yell over the chaos “I’m going to have to ask you to turn the other way!”
Hushed murmurs ripped through the crowd and Minho perked his ears forward to listen.
“That's true…” a female voice said.
“But why would Zico send us to the center if it wasn’t the safest…”
“No matter what it looks like we have orders…”
“Well I trust our leader!”
Please, Please… Minho pleaded.
But Minho’s plea was crushed as the crowd began to push Mingi backwards, choosing to continue on their path. He watched as Mingi was quickly shoved to the side by the masses and he ran forward, pulling him back up as the crown sprinted forward and away from them.
“Mingi-ssi!” he called, helping the boy off from the ground. “Are you okay?”
“Tch!” he spat. “They are choosing to believe Zico over me!”
“Well” Minho reasoned “They don’t know about Zico so of course they still trust him…”
Mingi punched the ground in front of them, his anger rising “Dammit!” he cured “If only Hongjoong hyung was here...”
“Mingi-ssi?” a voice called.
Minho turned to see a taller, older man with worn out blond hair looking at him from across the rushing street. He quickly made his way over to them, holding out a hand to Mingi.
Mingi looked up, taking the older boy's hand, a tired smile on his face. “Inpyo hyung!” he cried “Thank god you are here!”
The one named Inpyo nodded, his face grim “Once the alarm sounded my boys and I set out to help with the evacuations but we are having a bit of difficulties” he admitted. He then turned towards Minho, eyes narrowing in mild interest “Who is this?”
Mingi waved a hand in the air, “This is Minho. He and his group are helping us. Minho-” he turned, waving a hand at the taller man “This is Inpyo. He and his team are one of the best of our police force down here.”
“- Was ” Inpyo corrected, holding out his hand to Minho in greeting “We all retired a few years back when we couldn’t stand by Zico any longer.”
Minho nodded in greeting, taking his hand for a quick shake “I don’t blame you..”
Inpyo smiled at that and took his hand away. “Mingi,” he asked, turning back towards the younger “Why would Zico have the city evacuate to the center of the city?”
Mingi shook his head “I can’t explain right now, but it is all wrong hyung, the center of the city is the focal point of what's to come, and we need to get everyone to get away from there. But no one is willing to listen to me...”
Inpyo placed a hand on his chin, deep in thought.
“Asking them to believe in someone else over their trusted leader is a bit much for most people....” Inpyo mused.
“I understand that” Mingi agreed “But we have to convince them somehow…”
They were all quiet as chaos erupted around them, trying to think of a plan. Suddenly a thought came to Minho’s mind and he looked up at them with wide eyes.
“Inpyo-ssi?” Minho asked “When you say you were one of the best, how much did the people of The Under trust you? Did you have their respect?”
The question caught the older man off guard for a second but quietly nodded “Ah.”
Mingi scoffed “Didn they respect him? They practically worshiped the ground they all walked on…”
“Then why not have Inpyo and his team tell everyone where to evacuate?”
“As much as they trust me Minho,” Inpyo started “I’m still asking them to go against Zico’s orders...most won’t be willin-”
Minho held a finger up in the air to interrupt “But what if we don’t tell them to go against his orders?”
Mingi tilted his head in confusion “Okay, now I’m lost”
But Inpyo seemed to understand what Minho was getting at and nodded once “We tell them something different. Something they would believe came from Zico himself...”
Minho smiled, a small bode of confidence sparking in him “Instead of telling them the evacuation site has changed, we tell them that the center bunker is too full and overflow needs to evacuate to the southern bunker.”
Mingi’s eyes widened in realization while Inpyo nodded “It might work, especially if it comes from our mouths.”
“Hyung” Mingi suddenly turned and looked at the elder boy “Where’s Jiahn and the others? Can you get in contact with him? Have them help?”
Inpyo nodded, pulling out a small phone “I scattered them all to various districts. But I can call them and update the plan.  Jiahn should be in the center of the city right now...”
Minho looked at the elder boy, chewing his bottom lip in worry. “If I can ask Inpyo-ssi. One of my hyungs should be arriving in the center region any second now to help with the evacuation. Maybe your friend could meet up with him.”
Inpyo smiled softly and nodded, “Better as teams than opposing forces. Who is your friend?”
“It’s Woojin hyung” Mingi answered. Inpyo’s face widened in mild surprise and he looked at Mingi with curiosity in his eyes “Woojin? Woojin is in the same group as Minho. Wooyoung is in the North with another of their teammates and Jongho is in the Western quadrant.”
Inpyo eyed him with a mildly disappointed look “And Hongjoong? Where are the rest of your teammates Mingi?”
The taller boy shook his head “Not enough time hyung. Just know they are all doing their part in this. Please hyung….We could really use your help…”
Inpyo nodded looking at the two of them. “I’ll get in contact with my team. Don’t fret Mingi-ya. The Under won't die here is I have anything to say about it.”
They stayed quiet as Inpyo opened his small phone and quickly dialed a few numbers. There was a few more heartbeats of quiet as he put the device to his ear, but soon enough they heard a click and a muffled voice on the other line.
“Jiahn hyung-yes yes I'm okay. Listen, plans changed” he started “We were right. Something is fishy with the center evacuation. We need to evacuate them to the sou-oh?” he stopped midstence as the voice spoke to him and Minho watched as he nodded in response “I get it. You met Woojin already and he told you. Okay. Well tell the people that the center is full and Zico has ordered the overflow to the south. Can you pass the information to Isaac and Yeontae’s groups? Great Thank you. Tell them when their sections are done and they have done a sweep to report to the southern bunker.”
And like that, without even saying goodbye the elder boy quickly shut the phone and turned back to look at them.
“For trusting sake, Mingi keep Minho with you as you work your ways inwards. We have a lot of ground to cover and not a lot of time.”
Both boys nodded and stood up from the ground, pounding their feet on the ground as they began to run into the crowd. A familiar sense of dread suddenly filled Minho to his core and he swallowed hard, his heart beat racing.
Why did he feel like something terrible was about to happen?

Saving Them (Chapter 1, Part 3)
Summary: After the brutal murder of her found family, Gemi loses years of her life to grief, leaving her remaining family member, Chaim, to suffer alone. Gemi is too late to save him from the spiraling path of hatred and revenge against the killer(s), but the Fates are on her side.
Start from the beginning
___
If you've never been to physiotherapy, let me tell you; it's frustrating as hell.
The physiotherapist who makes the trip all the way to our house daily praises me greatly, like now with the, “You're regaining your strength much more quickly than I had anticipated!” But it doesn't feel like I'm doing enough.
Chaim, who was watching from the other side of the living room, but kept flinching forward to help whenever I looked like I was struggling, explained, “Well, it was only a period of about two weeks that Gemi had stopped moving completely.”
“Oh?” the physiotherapist looked at me, puzzled. Lady, I'm more confused than you. “I thought you said you were bedbound for years?”
“I was. Wasn't I?”
We both looked to Chaim. “Well, yeah, for the most part. But, you did get out of bed and walked around sometimes.”
“Really?” He nodded. As hard as I tried to comb through my memories, I couldn't recall anything but the horrific scene of my family, then waking up to 16 year old Chaim. “I don't remember that at all.”
Chaim somewhat deflated, his expression disapointed. “I figured. You were always out of it.”
“So, I wasn't in a coma?”
“What? No, not at all! You even talked to me sometimes, just... you were a lot more lifeless than you are now.”
It was weird, and uncomfortable, knowing he had memories of me I couldn't access myself. I want to replace those memories with better ones, full of joy and comfort.
As the weeks went on, and I regained my strength, I developed a routine in sync with Chaim's. He'd wake up earlier, and stay up and out for longer than I could, but we managed to eat all meals together. Though he was significantly more mature – too mature for his age -, he still resembled his younger self with a sweet tooth, and sweeter personality.
Even when he reeked of alcohol, affection poured out of him in the form of cuddles and communication. “I'm so glad you're alive,” was said far too often before he fell asleep.
Around two months after regaining consciousness, I met a friend of Chaim. A young man with gray hair and an awkward smile.
He purposefully avoided looking in my direction because of my glare, but the guard dog inside of my heart could do nothing further to intimidate him. Still, sweat formed on his brow the louder my thoughts aimed at him were; who the fuck are you?
“Ah, Gemi, you're awake!” Chaim exclaimed when he was moving aside to let the gray-haired man inside. “This is my friend Grayson. Grayson, this is my sister Gemi.”
I came out of hiding, from behind the wall that divided the bedrooms from the living room and kitchen, while Grayson awkwardly nodded in my direction.
“Are you going out? Isn't it already late?” I rubbed my eyes, and continued with the questions. “What time is it?”
Chaim scratched the back of his head. “We're just going out to a bar with some friends.”
My glare returned, and my arms crossed unconsciously. “Oh?”
“I- I won't be home too late, don't worry.”
“Mhm.” I uncrossed my arms, and sighed. It's better to have his trust by supporting him, than have him sneaking around and getting in trouble, feeling alone and scared. “Make sure you have your phone with you, and call me if your plans change, okay?”
“Ah!” he exclaimed, and ran towards the bedrooms. “I knew I was forgetting something. Give me a second, Grayson!”
Grayson was looking at me indirectly. Despite being a tower compared to my stature, he wafted off the meek energy of a little lamb, and I was an angry mama wolf.
“So you're the one giving Chaim alcohol,” I pointed my finger up at him, and he responded by putting his hands up to surrender.
He looked me in the eye. “N-no, I mean- yes, but by the time we started hanging out, he was already an alcoholic.”
I lowered my finger. “... He what?”
Grayson slowly lowered his hands, along with lowering his voice. “He... can't sleep without it. Not since...” I reprimanded myself internally. “I'd rather he get regulated alcohol in my presence than the alternative.”
“Yah,” I hugged myself loosely, suddenly being the one who couldn't look at the other directly.
Grayson opened his mouth to speak, but Chaim cut him off at the inhale of his breath. “Okay, now we can go.” Chaim quickly pulled me into a hug, and placed a kiss on top of my head. “I'll see you later. Get some sleep.”
When Chaim and Grayson retreated from the house, I announced, “Chaim? When you get home, can we talk? Even if it's late, wake me up, okay?”
Delicately, Chaim responded, “Yeah, of course.”
“And, um, Grayson?” I gave him a smile. “Thank you for being here for Chaim.” Grayson returned the smile, and headed with Chaim to his car. “Stay safe,” I said, even though they couldn't hear me. I watched them from the doorframe until the car left my line of vision; an old practice I could put into use again.
It's a strange feeling, being alone. Even when the others had lives outside of the house, there was at least someone here to keep me company.
At this time, Gorka and Bayar would be wrestling because Bayar sat on Gorka's couch with their outdoors clothes, which he claimed was transferring stranger germs from the bus to his face while he slept. Obi would storm out of our room with my pillow to throw at them, then yell at them to keep it down so he could focus on his homework.
I'd get Obi back for stealing my pillow by grabbing a lewd manga, and insinuate loudly that he was was actually reading smut instead of doing homework. Thus, sparking a fight between us, only to be saved by Tiho, who would announce dinner being ready. In an instant, it would be as is we never fought at all.
Tiho would save a big portion of rice for Chaim, and stay up with him at the table to hear about his day.
As a group, we were predictable enough that I could envision our night with ease. But now, those seven years together have been reduced to a memory. Reduced to a nightmare I couldn't wake up from, soaked in red.
I miss them.
I recalled fond memories with them as I moved throughout the house, brushing my hand along the wall, and stinging my own heart. I traced the height chart on the doorframe of Bayar and Tiho's bedroom. Last update was when Chaim was 12, and significantly shorter than the rest of us. I'm sure he's closer to Bayar's height now...
When I opened the door, I was confronted the colour of hatred; red.
When I opened their door, I was confronted the colour of hatred: red. It's funny, I've always hated that colour. It was overwhelming to see Bayar and Tiho's old room had been converted into a mess of red string and pin boards littered with paper.
“What the...”
I approached a clustered spot of string, and pulled it off the pins holding it altogether. Underneath was a punctured piece of paper with a list of names in pairs- none that I recognized. My eyes followed the strings around this one board to blurry pictured of people- very obviously taken at a distance, zoomed in as much as possible. I couldn't comprehend why Chaim would have all this information gathered, until I caught a familiar bloody image with the corner of my eye. My family.
I could feel the vomit rising in my throat, but I couldn't look away. They were crime scene photos, taken with flash. How did Chaim get these?
It wasn't just our family, it was dozens of photos of victims murdered in the same fashion; pierced with metal pipes by the front door. One had words written in blood on the wall behind the victims- Welcome Home.
I couldn't run out of there fast enough. Even when I tripped on my own feet, I pulled myself up and limped to the home phone to dial the only number I knew.
“Hello?”
“Chaim, wh-why do you- why is that- how long have you been-?” I couldn't get my thoughts sorted enough to form a proper sentence.
“Woah, Gemi, slow down. What's wrong?”
I stuttered in a panic, with the flashing images of family's mangled bodies haunting me once again. “Their room, why... why do you have all that stuff?”
Chaim sighed on the other end of the phone. “Shit, I didn't want you to find out about this like that.” In the background, I could hear him talking to someone else about bringing me somewhere. “Gemi? Grayson's going to pick you up in about 20 minutes, okay? I promise I'll explain everything, I just... I know you're anxious, just hold on, okay?”
“No, Chaim, come home. Please.”
He muttered on the other end, “We'd be down two people,” but didn't comment further.
“What?”
“Grayson is already on his way.”
I stewed in my own sense of doom and panic for what felt like an eternity. My mind couldn't release the image I had worked so hard to erase from my memory. Only now, Chaim was there too. I couldn't stop myself from lingering near the phone, desperate not to be alone. I called Chaim again and again to hear his voice, to have him reassure me that he was okay, and I'll be okay too. “I'm sorry for worrying you, Gemi,” he repeated every time before I let him go and hung up.
Though I had made an effort all these years, steering myself away from the allure of self-medicating, I was unable to deal with the stress. I dipped into our medicine cabinet with a trembling hand, and down all the bendryl I could get my hands on, for the slight sedative effects.
As I swallowed the last available pill, there was finally a knock on the door. I threw the door open, and skipped the pleasantries to run past Grayson and get into the passenger's seat of the car.
Grayson shut the front door before following me to the car. When he opened his side, I grumbled, “You couldn't bring him back early from drink for one night?”
He sat down, and started up the car while answering, “Well, we haven't gone out for drinks yet.”
“What? Then where the hell is Chaim?”
Grayson turned out of our subdivision, and onto the eerily empty main road. “He's at my house, with my roommates.”
“So why couldn't he come home, then?”
He hesitated with his answer, and sighed. “Because... he's trying to catch the killers.”
“What?” I didn't understand, and yet my heart painfully pounded inside of my ribcage, threatening to burst. “What do you mean he's 'trying to catch the killers'? What killers? You live with murderers?”
“No! Of course not! We're just... trying to set up a trap for the people who,” he took his eyes off the road for a  moment to look at me with pity. “The people who murderer your family.”
The panic officially set in, the Bendryl wasn't strong enough. I started yelling incoherent sentences at Grayson between my hyperventilation.
He attempted to calm me with the wrong words. “IT's not like- it's just a theory! The trap probably wont ever work, we've been trying it out for two years now and have never been in danger!”
“Two years?!” I hit his shoulder with my fists, and the car slid in response to the unexpected attack. “What the fuck is wrong with you?! How could you put a child at risk like that?”
Grayson didn't raise his voice to match mine. “HE would've tried to do this on his own regardless.”
“Then you should be protecting him!”
“That's what I'm trying to do!” he shouted out, and then pulled the car off to the side of the road. “Gemi, I know you're concerned about him, I am too. But Chaim- he... he can't move on from what happened. We're trying to help him, but what are we suppose to do when he' stuck on revenge like this?”
I hugged myself as I felt the vomit rise in my throat, as my tears were pulled down by gravity. “You can't let him walk into danger like this... He's all I have left,” I sobbed.
Grayson looked at me with a pained expression, and reached out to comfort me, but I flinched away from his touch. He recoiled, an hesitantly put the car back into motion. We stayed in a relative silence, Grayson occasionally glancing at me while I sniffled, and resisted the urge to wipe my snot all over the dashboard of his car.
When we finally arrive to the medium-sized estate, with a manicured lawn, I leapt out of the car, ready to drag Chaim home whether he would resent me or not. Grayson wasn't too far behind me wen I reached the door, and soaked in the strong scent reminiscent of a public bathroom. I was ready to judge his hygiene practices until I noticed the unlocked door.
I froze in my tracks.
Grayson told me I could go in, but I was too afraid. He was confused and reached for the doorknob, until he realized it was improperly shut too. He shakily pushed the door open, and there is was. The same colour fro my worst nightmare.
My knees buckled before giving out, smashing against the tiled floor. The pain felt like electricity up my legs and back, but the adrenaline drowned it out along with the sound of Grayson retching behind me.
“Chaim?” I called out, but how could he respond with a pipe pierced through his neck?
“How did this happen? This wasn't suppose to happen,” Grayson said to himself, with tears spilling from his eyes. He shakily typed 911 into his phone, before describing the horror before us. His voice broke as he said, “I think all four of them are dead.”
Dead? No, Chaim can't be dead. I crawled towards his cold body in a pool of blood. “Wake up, Chaim,” I pleaded. I gently held his face, but his jaw fell open as if he had no muscles to hold it together anymore. “No,” I whispered. “No! No! Chaim, no! Not you!” My throat burned from misuse, and my voice kept cracking. “Please, Chaim! You can't die!”
Grayson fell down and dissolved into tears. “I'm so sorry,” Grayson told me on repeat, before I began gasping for air, as the last bit of life in me began to fade away.
Now, I know I'm treasured by the fates. Because when I opened my eyes, Chaim was alive.

[TRANSLATION] Singles Magazine January 2016 issue x GOT7
[INTERVIEW] GOT7 for Singles January ‘16
Going to the airport at least once a week, Going up on stage a few times in a day. A day without schedules is very rare. Idols GOT7 who have debuted for 2 years spend each of their day busily like that But not even once did they frown.
Tumblr media
When you don’t see idols on TV, they’re even busier. GOT7 who has debuted for 2 years has had a hectic 2015. Junior who was the hero for <My love Eundong> has taken steps as an actor. Through his unique variety skills, Jackson is active as various program MCs and guest. Leader JB personally composed a song for GOT7’s album. All 7 of them have a lot of work to do with regards to their stage. From summer to winter, they have released two mini albums, and a repackaged album. From lively and cute charms (Just Right) shown, shortly they transformed to be powerful and gruff (If You Do). For the year end, they allowed us to listen to their sweet voices through gentle and warm ‘Confession Song’. 2015 was a year GOT7 used fully to show their charms. Is it due to them working without stopping? For the first time after debut, they won their first #1 on a music show and they’ve become singers that you absolutely can’t miss out on at year-end award ceremonies. Even when GOT7 are not on TV, on portal sites they update on their overseas performances and sides of them participating in events.
The day we did the photoshoot, GOT7 had just returned from Singapore. The first person who turned up at the studio was leader JB. During the group shoot, when the members’ focus are scattered or disorderly, he says one phrase. ‘Let’s focus!’. The sound of the members’ laughter die down and the camera that stopped for a while continued with the shutter sounds. Junior, who was given the fishbowl with goldfishes inside was asked if he could catch the fishes with his bare hands and he replied ‘I can do anything’ with his eyes twinkling. Youngjae will always be at the place where sounds of laughter that are running out of air are heard. Youngjae was also the first to be curious about the goldish placed at one side of the studio. He knocked on the fishbowl and went ‘Fool! Look over here!” teasing the fishes. Looking at BamBam who definitely grew taller since the previous time, I was shocked. “Look at this” he said while pointing to shoes that had heels more than 7cm. Smartly dressed BamBam in black jeans and black boots will probably not even look awkward if he was to stood as he is in front of the camera. The word ‘college entrance exam’ looks like a taboo word to maknae Yugyeom who is a senior in high school. “The exams? I probably sat for it ‘well’” smiling shyly while answering and then moving with buzz feigning ignorance. Mark, the man of a few words, when he’s talking with his members or standing in front of the camera, he’s quiet. With his gentle eyes, he picks out his pose and does his part. Glancing at the monitor, Jackson looked at all the members’ photos, he mumbled to himself ‘Apart from me, all the members look cool/good’. When said Jackson is handsome too, with a playful expression he smiles. With that, the 7 people filled up the frame fully and completed one cut by one cut.
Is it because they have yet to get rid of their fatigue.. Even when seven men are gathered, from time to time, it becomes quiet. Starting at 6o’clock, it only ended after 12o’clock. After 3 days, we met up with the members again for the interview. The members were continuously laughing. For the first time I realised, this is the real GOT7.
Tumblr media
While waiting at the filming venue, I see JB is reading. Isn’t the bookworm in GOT7 Junior?
Junior: Jaebeom hyung too likes reading a lot but it’s just that people don’t know about it.
JB: When I was bboy-ing, the hyung I danced with read a lot so I was influenced by that. Just like Jinyoung, whenever I get time, I’m the type to read.
What kind of books do you like?
JB: I used to read fictions or self-help books in the past but now I read books like essays or poems – things that can be read when I’m on the move to nearby places.
Junior: I tend to generally read classics but lately I want to see a dramatic love story so I’m reading a fiction, ‘This Very Instant’, written by Guillaume Musso.
As we filmed for the photoshoot, we realised this. Seems like there are many members who have “crying mole”.
Yugyeom: When we do make up, we purposely put it on. Previously, during ‘A’ promos, the person who did the makeup said to try having a mole once and the fans’ response to that were good.
Youngjae: My mole is real but we’re always covering it with makeup. My mom doesn’t like seeing it and she said to have it removed.
Mark: What is a “crying mole”?
BamBam: If you have a mole under your eye, it’s said that you’ll have many tears. I don’t have much tears though. Even at concerts, I haven’t cried even once.
Jackson: (referring to his cheeks) I have a mole too. If the mole is here, what kind of mole is it?
BamBam: There’s not much meaning to that one (laughs)
Yugyeom is a senior in high school. When you were sitting for your college entrance examinations, did the members cheer you on?
Youngjae: We had a different schedule on that day. Of course we told him to do well but we weren’t able to do anything special.
Yugyeom: I just wanted to and do it quietly without causing a hindrance to the other students taking the exam. I’ve not checked my results too. I hope I’m able to attend college often.
Two members (BamBam, Yugyeom) are turning 20 next year.
BamBam:  When I become an adult, I want to drink with the hyungs but on 31st December, we have a year-end show and when that ends it’ll probably be around 1AM. As soon as the recording ends, I want all the members to get together, have a meal and drink together.
In one of the broadcasts you did, it seems like if it’s just Mark and Youngjae together, it’s awkward. How is it now?
Mark: We’re not awkward now.
Jackson: That line in itself means they’re awkward (laughs)
Youngjae: In that case, we’re awkward. Hahaha.
Jackson: To be honest, if it’s with Mark hyung, I get awkward too.
Youngjae: Previously, we recorded some show in which 2 members talk with one another. Being with Mark hyung, people would call it ‘completely no fun’. Mark hyung doesn’t talk at all so it wasn’t interesting (laughs).
Jackson: Mark hyung doesn’t talk but even just looking at him, it’s good so they called it ‘enjoyably no fun’. When I’m talking to hyung, at some point, I tend to forget there’s even someone next to me. It feels like I’m talking alone.
Mark: Jackson has always talked a lot so it seems like he could feel that way (laughs).
For people like Jackson who are bright/cheerful on the outside, they’re unable to show when they feel upset on the inside.
Jackson: The dorm is the place I’m most comfortable in. At that place, since I’m with people I’m comfortable with, if there are any difficult things I tell it all to the members. That way I release all my stress.
Youngjae: When hyung talks lesser, the members will all ask (each other) “Did something happen to Jackson hyung today?” and find out.
Yugyeom: When we ask “Hyung, is there something going on?”, at first he’ll say “Nah, nothing much” but if we keep asking, he will open up like he was waiting for it. Hyung is feeling upset but if we don’t initiate conversation, he gets a little angry.
Jackson: The members are all kind and great but at times it’s troublesome. One person will come and ask if I’m alright and I have to say the same thing six times over. Yugyeomie will come and ask “Is there anything going on?” and I’ll tell him and a little later Youngjae will come and ask the same thing..
Yugyeom: When Jackson hyung tells me something, there could be moments when he wouldn’t like it if I conveyed it to the others so everyone will go and ask on his own.
Mark: If Jackson doesn’t say it and all of the members know, he will ask “Who said it?” (laughs)
It seemed like BamBam suddenly grew so tall so I was surprised but it seems like it is the power of the boot’s heels!
BamBam: I usually wear shoes with 8cm heels. Although I did want to look tall but if I wore shoes with shorter heels, I’m always overlapping with shoes that someone else is wearing. Up till now, I’ve not seen anyone wear men’s shoes that has 8cm heels. Therefore, I’ve been wearing it since. I like shoes that are from collections but what’s important is that I have to wear boots with heels when I’m standing on a large stage.
Jackson: Even when BamBam doesn’t wear shoes, he already has a great proportion but now it’s pretty much ‘God-sent proportions’.
Yugyeom: He already has long legs but now (wearing shoes with heels) his legs look s~~~~~~o long. At first it was awkward but now it’s fine. On the contrary, if he uses sneakers, it looks weird now. Lately Jackson hyung uses (that kind of) shoes too.
BamBam: There was once when I lent hyung shoes with heels and after that, he stopped wearing sneakers. Jackson: I really liked the basketball Jordan shoes but now they’re collecting dust.
Even amongst the idols, Yugyeom is known as “hot body”.
BamBam: Yugyeom is the shoulder and chest gangster (wide shoulder and chest)
Yugyeom: My body isn’t that great. I don’t have abs, only my build is huge. Actually Jackson hyung and JB hyung bodies are great.
Jackson: Eyy, nah.
BamBam: Each member has a different portion of his body that is good Jackson: (Towards BamBam) I’m being humble now, aren’t I? Just stay quiet (laughs)
Yugyeom: Mark hyung and Jinyoung hyung are the type to have small muscles. Even if the sizes don’t match well, the body looks pretty so even the dressing style turns out great.
Jackson: But I have short thick legs and even my face compared to these people..
Yugyeom: No! We’re all similar
Jackson: Yah, let’s be honest. Are you comparing yourself to someone who is 173cm? Anyway, that’s why when we’re taking airport photos, I don’t stick with the other members.
The members tell Junior that he looks like Kim Soohyun and Yoo Seungho?
Yugyeom: Don’t they really look alike? Those men are cool too but just looking at hyung’s face, he has the face of an actor
Junior: Ohew. Just being mentioned together with them is an honour.
Lately, there are a lot of idols who are acting. Junior and JB started the acting activities first. Do the other members have greed for acting?
Youngjae: If anyone asked for me, I would gratefully do it but I won’t go out looking for it on my own. Since I debuted as a singer, I want to focus on music.
Yugyeom: The members all have experience acting in web-drama “Dream Knight”. Even so, I like being on stage more.
On the internet, pictures or gifs of your past come up. Are there any photos you’d like to erase?
BamBam: I want to erase all the photos before the ‘SSI’ era. The hair and the outfit, really..
Jackson: Don’t be like this in front of me! In the past, I even pushed all my hair (laughs)
Mark: I want to erase the photos I took when I was in the States. Compared to now, I was definitely more tanned and there are even photos of me in swimsuit. It’s such a different look from me now.
Yugyeom: I want to delete the videos of me acting.
Youngjae: Me too. I know the fans like it but I cringe at it.
Junior: I want to delete all the selcas I took when I first debuted.
JB: I don’t really have a dark past or memory I want to erase. The past are also sides of me.
Tumblr media
You’re the only member who doesn’t have an IG account. Is there a special reason for that?
JB: I saw a side of me that was only obsessed with IG. In that time, I could be watching another artist’s stage or watch dance practice or listen to music. Spending that time going on IG feels a little of a waste.
You’re raising a puppy ‘Toto’ in the dorm?
Jackson: (Referencing to the name the Editor used) Isn’t ‘Toto’ a brand name you’ll see in the washroom? (laughs) It’s Coco.
Youngjae: A coconut is white in colour so we call her ‘Coco’. Together with Mark hyung, we wanted to raise a puppy so we adopted one that doesn’t shed much fur.
Mark: At first, we called her ‘ssalddeok’ but the pronunciation was too hard so we changed it (laughs)
Yugyeom: At first Jaebeom hyung raised a cat in the dorm but since Youngjae hyung has a fur allergy, he was not able to raise the cat. At the hospital, we asked if raising a puppy was fine and after getting the other members’ approval, we’re all raising it together.
Youngjae: When we have overseas schedule, we leave it under the care of some place, but when we have local schedules, it doesn’t feel great leaving her alone at home.
BamBam: Because there’s a puppy at home, the atmosphere is much better.
Fans sometimes have requests that are unreasonable. You love the fans but if you had to choose (a request) that you cannot fulfil, what would it be?
Jackson: I know it’s a joke but when they ask to marry them? If they ask to date them, I could think about it but marrying.. (laughs)
JB: Isn’t marriage something you have to be extremely careful about? I’m really thankful that fans like me but something important in life like marriage isn’t something you talk about lightly and there are times I get worried.
Youngjae: I try to grant most things but at fansigns, fans will ask for me to write my first impression of them. When that happens, I don’t know what I should write so I just end up writing their names.
BamBam: When fans ask for those requests, you can just write what you see. Like if he/she comes with a red scarf, just write ‘red scarf’. Jackson: Even so, we know fully that they love us.
Yugyeom: That’s right. In the event I went to today, the fans practiced and memorized our choreography for ‘Just Right’ and ‘If You Do’ – I’m touched seeing that. If the fans had no pride in being a GOT7 fan, dancing like that in front of so many people would be a difficult task.
At the end of this interview, you’re heading to China. Airport, stage, lodging. It’s quite a waste going to just these 3 places.
Jackson: That’s right. Apart from the difference in the person doing the room service, and the language we use with that person, our pattern is exactly the same every time.
BamBam: That’s why in the hotel room, doing whatever we can do (within that space), we try to enjoy it as much as we can. I mostly use the room with Jackson hyung so we put on good music, look at the view, eat delicious food and pass time like that.
Youngjae: For me, I just rest in the hotel.
Junior: I read books, soak in the tub, listen to music. I pretty much do the things that I’m not able to do leisurely in Korea. Ah, when we go overseas, I’ll definitely head to their convenience store to get a local cracker and drink each to try.
Yugyeom: Even though we live busily due to our schedules, I really like this life. Although sometimes we tend to fight even without remembering the reason, if I’m with the members, it is always fun.♥

Three year anniversary of MLTS!!
Guys, do you know what this means? Not only is my baby turning three years old, but I’ve been writing this story for three exact years!
Tumblr media
Isn’t that crazy?
I’m really sorry for taking such a long ass time with this, but I have a life that I need to get invested in so I won’t get into trouble all the time, but I am doing my best to bring as many updates per year as I can. And oh boooy, this year was certainly a good year to write! From this day forward, until I run out of written chapters, I’ll be updating once every two weeks; as I have promised. I would also like to add that I will no longer update it on Tumblr. I know there are people who discovered the work here, but frankly it’s a pain in the ass to edit the whole entire chapter and it doesn’t get nearly the amount of notes I wish it did, so from now on I’ll just link the new chapters here to my AO3 so you guys may read it there instead.
Thank you all so very much for sticking around and read this mess of a story that I created. <3 It means so much to me that you guys are actually invested in what I have to share, and I sincerely hope you guys can stick around some more till the end. Seriously, thank you so much for all the nice comments you leave on the chapters, I reread them nearly every day to keep motivated; and for the beautiful fanart you guys created – I honestly don’t know what to say or do to show just how thankful I am for all this, you have no idea. Like, saying “thank you” doesn’t feel enough to express how delighted I am, and I wish I could do more.
Chapter 17 is coming out later today, I hope you guys enjoy it! Don’t forget to check out the official playlist as well, and hop on by my inbox once in a while to leave a message or just simply talk if you want to.
I appreciate each and every single one you. I’ll see yah all later! ;)

Christmas miracle - Taeyeon scenario
Tumblr media
[a/n] The prompt was “Sometimes I wish I could just fall asleep and never wake up.”
[also this was one of the hardest and longest to write and sorry for the errors it’s so late and I’m tired okay? Go on read it, enjoy :) ]
24th December 2019
You received a few strange texts in the lead up to Christmas from one of your close friends Taeyeon but after conferring with Sunny you both put the sad texts down to it being that time of year. Christmas time was always tough since the 18th of December 2018, tough on every shawol and idol in the community but especially Taeyeon struggled to cope during the winter months.
Tumblr media
Shortly after this text, she left you on read; of course you worried and fretted over Taeyeon but you also had an entire extended family to visit for Christmas so it couldn’t be helped that you had little time to spare to try and do a manhunt of Taeyeon. You drove back to your family home in Ulsan for the holidays, cousins from all over Asia and Europe flocked in with Aunts and Uncles and all your time was spent cooking, catching up, entertaining kids and visiting old friends. The lead up to Christmas you’d been manically shopping with some of your friends in Seoul and tying up loose ends there, you gave your presents to the members of SNSD you were close with and hid Taeyeon’s in her flat so she could find it on the 25th of December. Normally you went home for the festive season so this wasn’t anything new but this would be the first year Taeyeon would be alone in her flat instead of the family home in Jeju; her mum had been insistent that Taeyeon join them on the family trip Hayeon had organised to Australia but since that would mean leaving before Jonghyun’s death day Taeyeon was reluctant to go. Every single year since 2017 Taeyeon had always gone at 11 pm on the 18th of December to sit with Jonghyun for a while, the SHINee members and fellow SM label mates knew of this and out of respect for the senior singer they left that slot of the day exclusively for Taeyeon to sit without disturbances and just pay her respects and it had become a sort of routine for Taeyeon now, one which she wasn’t about to break.
Sunny unfortunately also went to California during Christmas for the first time in years which meant that Taeyeon truly was alone. Taeyeon had seemed happier this year, over time wounds close even if they leave a scar they'll be a bit less painful than they once were and for Taeyeon this was true. She'd thrown herself into concerts and variety shows as well as finding new hobbies to entertain herself and it was almost as if the pain could be suppressed for her; the last time you'd caught up for coffee (just the two of you in your favourite Starbucks) she had been smiling and had put on weight which made you glad that she was healthier and happier. It seemed surreal the improvement she’d been able to make in such a short time and especially seeing how fast paced her life was, not only was it amazing for you to see this progress as one of her close friends but also because you were very much caught in the feels for the petite blonde. Sunny had noticed it when Taeyeon first introduced you to her members and she’d jumped on the chance to DM you later about it; in fact the friendship had bloomed from there and Sunny soon became your go-to life guru. From meeting Taeyeon you’d gained two best friends and a huge ass crush but you were so thankful (maybe not so for the crush) since beforehand you hadn’t been the most outgoing girl in the city.
Five minutes of rest. That was all you got, after scrubbing the house clean and then taking a nap you had five minutes before the chaos returned and so reaching for your phone you sent a message to Taeyeon.
Tumblr media
You hoped this little message would reassure her, even a small text could do wonders when you felt truly miserable and it wasn’t long now at all until the 25th of December after which you would head back to Seoul for the New Years celebration with some city friends. Taeyeon only really had to hold on for two more days until boxing day given it was currently the 24th and after lasting the past week and a half alone it didn’t seem much more to you until at least one of her friends would be back to spend time with her. No more than 2 minutes after the text was delivered, the front door thudded open and little feet padded towards you in a horde; this had to be the best part about returning to your family home, when you saw all the little kids. You could vividly remember when they were all born and how small they had been then and now looking at how mature they’d become and how much they’d grown since you last saw them. It felt like a mother’s pride and for a brief second you wondered what it would feel like with your own children one day, images of Taeyeon with your baby cousins flashed through your mind and try as you might to forget or dispel them it seemed they were super-glued to the idea of future children. Insistent hands pulled your sweater and tugged you back into the snug living room, your mind fully focused on the kids you rose from the chair and followed the rest of your rowdy bunch to the table leaving your phone in the armchair.
Dinner was a lively affair as always; hands would tangle over one another to reach various dishes along the long glass table and small mouths chewed noisily, in a way the children reminded you of the shikshins you’d come to be familiar with. Sooyoung and Yoona had the same vivacity and enthusiasm to gobble up plate after plate as the little ones, even the way they grinned as they shoveled food in was eerily similar. That pang came back of wanting to see all of your Seoul crew again but looking around the table at the old and young who all bore shining faces, it became harder to want to leave this haven. Your childhood had felt much like a bubble; surrounded by the theme parks and awe-inspiring landscapes it had been a thriving environment. Both you and your younger brother had visited the mountain and caves, hauled your tiny bodies through museum after museum and spent most of the summer at the beach which in hindsight was a very idyllic lifestyle to grow up (especially in compared to some of the children you’d seen in Seoul). Seeing the difference had made you grateful for the childhood you’d had and you felt it was only right to maintain visits with your parents consequently, your parents had given you an amazing childhood and the least you could do was pay them back by not being an absent child as an adult. It was so quiet without the little ones here and there were no doubts in your mind that your mother and father must get lonely at some times of the year, your brother came as often as he could but being a firefighter it was rare for him to be able to get long holidays so you became the torch bearer so to speak.
Dinner evolved into coffees and after eights, the children were headed to bed by now and you closed their door and headed down with your aunt, excusing yourself to grab your phone before joining the adults in the dining room. The phone lay in the armchair buzzing repeatedly, your brothers contact name flashed on the screen and once the name had stopped flashing a series of frantic texts were sprawled across your baymax lock screen. You dialed your brother back and put him on speaker so you could scroll through the possible hundreds of texts received while you were gone, his gruff voice chimed through greeting you.
“Noona, I was trying to get a hold of a you. Taeyeon-noona was sitting on the roof edge of her flat block, well she still is. We’ve been here for over 3 hours trying to talk to her and help her, policewomen tried also. Could you possibly drive over here and help us?”
Without even replying you hung up on him, texting a quick :
I’ll be there Jaejin. Xx
You rushed to grab your coat and the KIA car keys before unlatching the front door. Hearing the latch slide across bolt alerted your mum and she practically teleported to the hallway to confront you about where you were going not even 12 hours before Christmas Day.
“Jaejin needs my help to get someone off the edge of a roof eomma, I can’t refuse that because then what kind of noona would I be? You raised me to always be good to others and to lead by example.”
“It’s Taeyeon isn’t it?”
“How..is this a parent thing or like..”
“Sweetheart, you don’t need to lie to me. Okay so she couldn’t survive one holiday alone but I won’t hold anything against her for it. She is one of your closest friends and besides she deserves a Christmas miracle I guess. Go get your girl tiger.” Whispered encouragement and a sneaky wink pushed you over the threshold.
“ You’re not..mad or even..upset by who I am?” Choked words fell out of your mouth.
“ GO Y/N Y/L/N! WASN’T THIS AN EMERGENCY? YAH. I AM STILL YOUR MOTHER AND I DEMAND YOU GO HELP HER INSTEAD OF FAFFING OVER THESE TRIVIAL MATTERS PABO!”
Cold slender fingers opened the door and bundled you in, warm kisses on your cheeks before the ignition started and the KIA rolled out of the driveway. Even halfway down the road you could still see her small form waving at you and with newfound determination you stepped on the acceleration pedal. The entire drive to the airport you’d spent singing with Urban Zakapa through all of their second album then occasionally calling your brother for an update on Taeyeon and before boarding you’d texted your brother to pick you up in precisely 1 hour and 50 minutes.
During the flight you’d napped and tossed and turned around in your seat, horrible scenarios ran through your mind and you forced yourself to focus on photos on your phone instead. Dorky photos of your family and friends showed up one after another and you eventually scrolled onto the day you and Taeyeon had gone to an aquarium. That dork had worn her nemo onesie the whole day and the two of you took the weirdest (but for Taeyeon adorablest) photos as you walked through the tank exhibitions. Even now on the flight the flurry of happiness and giddiness rushed through you from that day, such vivid memories were always there on your day trips and in your 1 hour and 40 minutes you mentally gave yourself a pep talk. Her life was filled with all of these wonderful memories, scrolling through your KaoKao talk chat it was obvious from the many selfies with others that Taeyeon was the object of many of her friends endless love. Not only amongst friends and family was Taeyeon adored but by men and women and children alike all over Korea; despite her protests she was the nation’s idol and their shining star.
Fuelled by the desire to keep the one you loved alive and to prove to Taeyeon that she wasn’t alone and that people loved and cared for her you eagerly headed to passport security once exiting the plane before virtually running to your brother at the arrivals lounge.
Both of you hopped into his slightly larger Hyundai and headed to the flat block. The drive over felt solemn and rap reverberated softly throughout the car until you reached the tall grey building. Firemen and officers greeted you as you walked through the hallway; the elevator ride was smooth and Mamamoo’s “Taller than you” was played through speakers. Your brother and you lost composure the minute the diss track started playing, any calming and respectful atmosphere that was created evaporated in that elevator. The level before the roof opened and you stepped out, Jaejin waited before the doors to the roof and gave you and Taeyeon some space. For that you were thankful because it was going to get heavy and deep real quick.
Stepping out on the roof was a slap to the face, you thought you were past all the suicide scares but here you are. Her thin legs were resting on the concrete, arms wrapped around herself as one would before dropping down a chute and the slightest breeze would sway her form.
“boo” you whispered with a chuckle,
she laughed back. It was hollow and short, clearly your crappy joke wasn’t gonna fix this.
You walked over to the edge and stood next to Taeyeon and slightly behind her, one hand swung back to greet yours and soon she was gripping onto you for life. The way she gripped so tightly made you reconsider whether she actually did want this or whether it was a desperate plea for help, it felt as if even if she dropped she would float. Paper Taeng as she was known and now you saw why, lithe legs and arms looked weightless but Taeyeon treated them like dead weights. Hunched shoulders and a droopy frame was how she sat and you thought that must be how you look when you walk given how much your mother scolded you on posture.
“Yeonnie, I- well, there was a call. You were in danger and I know you needed help so I hopped on a plane to help except now I’m here I don’t really know where to start. Do you want to- Only if you’re comfortable, to talk things through? Is it better to just drag you away from here or what works best?”
“Serenity, remember my tattoo? That’s what I want, I’m a walking hypocrite you know? I want to be with you all, I want to hang out with you lot. I don’t like being excluded but I also want to be alone, sometimes the darkness hits and I can’t face being around people no matter how much I crave for it.”
“Why don’t you try forcing yourself out, I know its tough bu-”
“It’s so tough, y/n you can’t feel it or know it unless you’ve been there. I cant just force myself out of my flat heck sometimes I wish I could just fall asleep and never wake up.”
You unfolded your fingers and pulled her back into your arms, she sighed deeply and unevenly. Your hands ran soft soothing circles on her thighs and exhaled too; both of you sat there for some time. Traffic and street vendors hustled below and you both listened to the unaware city goers down below; you hummed a lullaby in her ear still softly drawing circles on her thighs. Her soft body relaxed against your front as the familiar lyrics drifted into the night sky.
Taeyeon closed her eyes and hummed with you, the traditional melody floated off and the two of you just rested on the rooftop for a while. The atmosphere was calm and serene,
that was what Taeyeon had wanted. Serenity.
You hauled her off the edge and she helped by swinging her legs round too. Arms looped around your neck and your hands fell to her waist to support her standing, bless her she didn’t look like she was warm enough to stand after all this time on the cold roof. Your hands around her waist and her hands around your neck but neither of you could look the other in the eye. Awkwardness crept in and Taeyeon started humming baby shark, it was a defense mechanism you knew but in that moment after the drama of the whole evening it made you laugh. You threw your head back laughing and heard Taeyeon’s ahjumma chuckle echoing too, your heads pulled back to normal height at the same time and as you looked at her babyish face you became sucked in. Possibilities of universes where she’d kiss you or tell you that it she’d be yours ran through your mind and you got lost in the contours of her face but a brief kiss on the cheek and a hand tugging yours soon brought you back to the reality.
“Wait, this hand-holding, is this gonna be like permanent? Because I don’t know if you realise Miss Kim but this is bad for my heart and-”
“Shush Miss y/l/n, not everything fits in a box.”  Her dorky grin was back on her face and for now at least she would be okay.
Christmas day was shaping up to be the best one of your life you thought.

Tel Aviv 2019: Straight outta Hungary to Eurovision with yet another father song apparently
youtube
Hungary, I love you, but you're bringing me down...
Never in my life have I wanted to fight a NF as much as A Dal 2019. The lineup was considerably less engaging with me than the previous year's one (but in the end it turned out to be even MORE engaging than the previous year's one), the design update (to which I got used to like 10 minutes later anyway) happened, the jury exterminated a handful of favourites, and a common Eurofan's worst fear apart from not having at least one glitzy-schlager-fiesta-wrapped entry a year occured yet again - the under/over-staging of songs with potential. What could've been a smooth sailing sweet ballad sung by a man with all his heart turned out to be a confused fisherman's piano boy tune with little to no emotional connection with the televiewer; a killer electropop soundscape piece sprinkled with intensity, fragility and neon-like colors was supposedly performed by a lost-on-stage housewive who probably has 2 kids and 2 cats at home; and that one folksy melody set to campfire suddenly lost all its fire with a snow backdrop behind. Truly a wrong time to become a full-on Hungary stan.
And yet, out of all this hot savaging and rampaging mess, entangled with fan-fave losses and one eliminee too late thanks to a common ESC song's worst fear (plagiarism accusations), emerged one gloriously victorious soul in the shape of a brave man of gypsy 'origo' who once has been elected to Eurovision to make his country proud with his killer ethnic track 2 years ago, and he nailed that right to the T, with the help of an onstage dancer and violinist (both female) to create some space for the song to breathe and exhale the passion of what he sang out of his heart by then - Joci Pápai. Yes, him again! Who did you expect, András Kállay-fucking-Saunders??
Anyways, his song this year is titled “Az én apám” (My father), written by him and partially co-written by a man hiding himself behind the name Caramel (and I prefer caramel candy more than the actual raw caramel tbh), who is probably finally lucky enough to see a composition of his go to Eurovision after he himself couldn’t quite make it as himself right back on the very first A Dal. This year he also wrote a cute little harmless ballad for a 16 year old girl but we’ll discuss her later (maybe), because it’s Joci’s time. Again.
As the title already indicates, it’s another song about a father, and unlike for AWS’s lead singer, Joci’s father is... alive and well, surprisingly, considering Joci is 37 and, at the time of his fatherly loss, Örs Siklósi from AWS was approximately 24-25. That definitely does not mean the parents’ loss can’t come in at any time of your year - A Dal 2019 had a contestant whose mother was murdered when he was NINE. 0_0 Not to mention that some mothers die during childbirth, too. Or even maybe some fathers die before children were born because all they need to be in part of babymaking is to give her satisfaction at the right time and boom, 9 months (or even earlier/later) of wait. But I digress. This is much different song from “Origo” as “Origo” had this ethnic upbeat rhythm to it, with violins included, and was mostly a captivating song with a little bit of rapping because Joci couldn’t fit so many words in all of the other verses he could have thought of for this song without having to extend the song for A Dal submission, so he had to do the rap, sorry “Origo” rap bit’s haters. “Az én apám”, meanwhile, has him project his feelings against a musical backdrop of a little bit more softer, acoustic, chill tune with a little poppier arrangement (and add some violins during his live performance on two of the A Dal shows, that are now a permanent part of the ESC version of the song!). And instead of the Romani onomatopoeia we’re getting “na na na, ya ya yah” in the chorus, which is as nice, but I’d rather “jalomaloma” out some bitches than have this.
For this one, he’s all alone, on his own, except for the other songwriter’s aid (dare I say that this personal song’s lyrics weren’t even written by Joci himself??? Not even a microscope??? Caramel you mastermind you). But mostly on stage, he’s alone. And shoeless. And with a starry-ish backdrop. Simple enough staging for a simple enough song, right? As it’s proven that simplicity can work in the past Eurovisions (see Sobral), and maybe, just maybe, Hungary does stand a chance for once again for being just simple, like Boggie was (but mostly she was more inoffensive and singing about a topic that’s still beaten to death every now and then, although this topic has fizzled out lately, which paved the way to all the love songs dominating NFs now, as well as the Latino craze). Though I doubted it was gonna remain so “simple” after it was revealed the Hungarian team is looking for everyone’s fathers’ pictures to be submitted to them. Yes, it was supposed to be one of THOSE kind of backdrops. I don’t even know what kind of use did Michael Schulte have of the fatherpics people sent HIM! Most of the backdrop focused of his lyric video aesthetic on the choruses, and I remember more of THAT, not the photos... so I doubted it was gonna work out on this one either. But in the end Joci wasn't satisfied with how all of those pics looked, so he will go for only showcasing his very own papi now.
Oh shit I forgot to talk what I feel about the song myself... well, safe to say that I didn’t warm up to it when I first heard the snippet ahead of every other A Dal snippet, but as in full, it just so happened to be nice enough, although I preferred “Origo” because reasons - not to mention that looking back at the A Dal 2017 state that I’ve seen from, I’d probably have had Joci as a legit fave to win it! And I already found Tótova to be too strange at first, unsure if it’s worth it to give them a second shot (post-2nd-listening-note: I did and it wasn’t that... bad?). And so, with low enough expectations, I didn’t even look into his chances all that further, especially with him being sick on the heat 3 day and only managing to barely tie-win in his heat just so he could dominate further rounds. But man did it turn out to be a beast later on.
So let’s, for now, say that I like it, but it’s just one of those artist return expectations that let you down because you really wanted to maybe see them again, but there would never be another song like the first one. Time will probably make me forget it all happened though and I’ll be able to enjoy it as much as “Origo”, as the “na na na” chorus part is really lovely enough. The song though, it is bafflingly too much reliant on too long verses in order to make the song just only have 2 of them and 2 choruses, and for the person that is biased for ‘2 verses - 3 choruses - bridge somewhere in between’ kind of songwriting that I am, it’s lowkey a glaring problem (as I'm finishing this weeks later than initially planned I actually got used to this structure and it even slightly compliments the song, but only slightly), as “Origo” has not only an engaging song but an engaging structure - nothing seems throwable out, nothing seems needed to additionally to be added. This one, however, is just there with its structure, and although hearts and minds are swayed by this, I don’t think I’ll get used to it this as a whole easy, unlike, like I said, time makes me forget the NF messfest and focus my love and support towards those that ARE going, not those that COULD’VE BEEN going. For now, I am not sure if I finished my review rant this properly, but for now, I’ll just wish Joci the best of luck, eventhough he’ll 1) never read this and 2) never understand this :( But still ^_^ Don’t let your nation down, big man and a father of two!
Approval factor: Despite reasons I’ll detail a little later, I’ll approve this entry, as I can’t be mad enough at Joci, for the humble man that he exists as, and the message he’s spreading, and the man he teamed up with. I approve of him but not of the background things.
Follow-up factor: From substance things, let’s just say it’s a bit of a yes and a bit of a no. No because ‘omfg it’s too soon for him wtf!!’ and I agree but if that’s what the juries initially wanted after seeing him in the lineup, and this return of his is now a bit more unnoticed and anonymous... but yes because it’s not a bad choice after AWS, because it was to be expected Hungary will send something softer after going out hard the last time, and they delivered the softness.
Qualification factor: depends on how does the audience feel for this emotionally, if Joci transmits his love for his father and that other supposed message as well well enough to the audience, in this simple staging of things (well if the fatherpic concept is still considered as ‘simple’ and nothing too cheesy or creepy). For now though I’ll be optimistic enough for Hungary - they won’t break their streak this year. If this simple-ish enough staging with just the singer on it doing his best worked for our lovely Ieva last year (despite these two not being a comparable songs), this would as well! And then settle around in top 15 provided enough people are there to give Joci just the right amount of love and patience that he needs (jury is a different question but since it’s not ethno-aggressive I think they might warm up to this as well, despite this being Hungary). Or even 16th-20th.
NATIONAL FINAL BONUS
A Dal 2019, with all things considered, needs to immediately die in a hellhole. Mainly because of the juries doing their dirty work by drowning the public favourites yet again, and especially the good ones (I've mentioned some of them earlier in the first paragraph by description). Let me demonstrate two of my favourites to the unsuspecting audience:
• Let’s get the elephant out of the room first. LEANDER FUCKING KILLS. Would you even think they’d have had any sort of victory of a NF potential?? Well, not off the AWS’s heels, considering both them and AWS play metal music. But their 2019 entry, "Hazavágyom", was something else. It’s if your dad went out with a couple of his friends to start a campfire somewhere in the woods, and then he took out a guitar because he remembered that he wanted to play something new he learned after listening to a lot of Irish folk music. And they all go off together - one rhythm drum, one guitar, the others jam out to the rhythm and create a fully-fledged campfire song, and a mysterious violinstress appears out of nowhere to help keep the party going. No really, it’s in the music video. Them being the most positive surprise of the lineup 2019 really melted my heart as I didn't expect so many people siding with another shade of their music. And even I started to draw myself into that song more and more, of how dancy and heartfelt it sounded with them decent lyrics about some sort of personal affection (maybe??), hoping that the jury will listen with their hearts and minds open to this Leander’s change of things and let them win the selection that way. But in the end... you know that Assi Azar quote. That’s right. And even so guess what - their first hurdle was their last. Sure, you can say they had a flawed live performance (no violinstress :( too rough vocals at the last chorus :((((((), but if you crush a future of good potential ahead, you’ll never know what might have you lost and how much would you have liked it better if things were slightly improved according to what you thought that needed to be changed in it. As it is for now, both "Hazavágyom" and Leander Kills ended up being robbed of Tel Aviv 2019. Hats off for trying, though.
youtube
• And then we have this fantabulous guy down here, with the name of Gergő Szekér and his journey-like legendary folk-tale, written for us guys, to let the past go, just like a (little) bird, and keep what matters only - “Madár, repülj!” mesmerized me from its first snippet (with me additionally commenting on that he’s a nice guy somehow), and then the full version came - with some rapping, wavy electronic bassline (that we haven’t seen striving since last days of dubstep’s relevancy), great choice of instruments, THAT gorgeous way of singing this whole song - I was ready to run away from the disappointment I had from Leander’s flop and immerse in this song fully knowing that it’s gonna be ‘such a jury darling!’... but a-MOTHERFUCKING-las! The boi missed the mark by 4 points in the superfinal vote-up in order just to tie with the unexpected new jury darling that was even BEATEN by Gergő in the semi, Bogi Nagy (the 16 year old I mentioned earlier)... the last juror thought that shooting up Bence Vavra to the superfinal spot was a good idea, and I can’t blame him as Bence deserved to go to the A Dal final for the little that he has participated in, but NOT AT MY BOI’S EXPENSE. ;_; I truly doubt that at this day and age there’ll be anyone capable of filling in the Gergő shaped hole in my heart... well, I can certainly TRY cutting him out of me, but the pre-NF-hype-build, his song’s remix with his X Faktor’s friends and my imagination of him dancing in the Telavivian postcards and engaging with his new Eurofandom fam through live interviews will haunt me from here on end... ugh.
youtube
And normally I hype up the NF participants that I supported last time previous year but then they become just artists for me and I wanted more of their song but not of the actual performer in Eurovision and therefore I don’t want them to ESC anymore, but if both of those above artists go to Eurovision at some point, I’m likely stanning both the hell out of their songs AND themselves, for who they are and who they stand for (hopefully nothing too controversial, we already have had a fanfave oppose gay marriage once so imagine a Hungarian A Dal winner doing the same at some point :O). Leander for his overall talent, Gergő for everything he is (and plus a little bit of mutual acknowledgment I’m gonna talk about later UwU bias is strong ahahaha).
Now with my sorrows out of the way, let’s highlight some more of this shit-fest:
• How the fuck wasn’t Dávid Heatlie’s staging a big meme during the season?? At least nationwide?? Seriously. “La Mama Hotel”, his actual entry, might not be too much of a standout (considering it’s just some by-numbers-synth-heavy song with its only major saving grace being a kickass guitar solo), and he did not perform all his best, BUT THE LAMPS. THE FUCKING LAMPS. Too many of them, and they’re slightly too oldfashioned, but so aesthetically-satisfying out of nowhere. If I were a moth, I’d immediately run to his lamps at any given time, and even stay with them after they’re eventually returned to MTVA’s stage props garage or to a Hungarian IKEA. Yes I know the moth meme is dead btw but so what?
Tumblr media
Not to mention the guy himself is a bit of a meme in my eyes.
Tumblr media
• I already discussed about this on my only one-time “Fanwank Assimilation” bulletin and I have no intent to reiterate all that I said from there on this one word-for-word but let’s go on anyway. Olivér Berkes, the hipster friend of Zävodi from A Dal 2017, returned on his own to win many more hearts with a soft piano/acoustic ballad “Világítótorony” (lighthouse), which couldn’t have been staged more... disconnectingly. To summarize, it’s somewhat of a love song inspired by a lighthouse symbol (quite literally lol), staged as if it was like fisherman taking care of one lighthouse himself, coming and going to do his thing. And like, there was no click with people that made Olivér stand out with something else other than just this ballad, like he did by constantly tele-qualifying with Ádám Szabó’s current girlfriend back in A Dal 2016 and being put in the superfinal with aforementioned Zävodi in 2017. His song itself was just a nice song and kind of a lot people liked it it seems, but I wasn’t really getting it until too much later on after Olivér’s heat was over, so I was surprised with his elimination, but my feelings I got from this song off my first impression weren’t disappointed over this. Check his performance here.
• Can I call Rozina Pátkai a highlight? You might have not heard of her unless you’re Hungarian and/or THAT into their jazz scene, as she’s big on there. This year though she has had a “noisy electropop” song through to the chosen 30 of the A Dal selection, and it was of the name “Frida”. Nothing was too bad until she also ended up having some unfortunate first-hand mis-staging. I did say at the beginning of this post that she kinda looked like “lost-on-stage housewife who probably has 2 kids and 2 cats at home”, and that’s just me not being fond of the outfit she got, though I don’t really imagine in better clothes, or do I? Nevertheless, the Rubik’s cube visuals of her pictures and bright pink lighting (where visible) looked great on her staging somehow (and the on-screen effects), just not the visual aesthetic of the singer’s. Witness it here. Also witness what I meant with the visual parts of things:
Tumblr media
Triple woman?? now I’m scared
Tumblr media
who’s this shocked gal in the background that got cubed???? UwU
Tumblr media
curious woman telling you a bedtime story on TV
Sorry, these captions are a little too silly, but still. The jurors were alright with it except for one (and that’s also the one who killed Olivér’s chances too a little) and the televote was harsh (5 points, yikes, the lowest ever telescore of this A Dal year). Well, if it was studio, we’d probably see her through, but me personally, I saw it as a semifinalist at best when I first heard her song. Now I think it would have been decent enough for a final too maybe? As at least the chorus of this is good but I was never too hooked on the first verse as it always reminds me of the annoyingly soft indie pop that dominates the current music trends... well alas.
(Sidenote: maybe her moterly styling was dedicated to her future child she’s currently carrying? Yep, turns out Rozina is currently pregnant, just like one other A Dal contestant this year!)
• A personal highlight for me, besides that one time Gergő Sz. spoke out to an ESCBubble interviewer that “there’s this, like, a guy or a girl from Lithuania, and [he] said “yeah, I’ve some re-LAH-tivs [sic] ... in Lithuania and she was like *exasperated gasp noise* “Lithuania! Oh my God! We love you so much!”” (and for a matter of fact, it was me :) I’ve been only acknowledged once ever but the acknowledgement still exists!!), was discovering Fatal Error (and USNK but mainly just Fatal Error) before they entered A Dal 2019 with THE EXACT SAME SONG I FIRST HEARD OF THEIRS. Yeah. “Kulcs” music video featured Örs Siklósi, your favourite Hungarian screamer/singer, as a presenter rather than a part of the song, and a good-ass metal song did he present. And as the A Dal 2019 season rolled on at the beginning, Fatal Error were on my hyping target until some better songs came on and I didn’t feel like stanning Fatal Error’s song as much as I only stanned them because they’re here for the fans even more at even more times than I expected them to be - liking their comments on the band’s Instagram and Youtube posts - nothing against other contestants though (Leander included), if they have their lives to carry on and only sit down to check Instagram twice a week or so, it’s perfectly fine. :) I am quite sure Joci is probably like this also. Nevertheless, Fatal Error totally rocked, despite coming off AWS’s heels, and they’re at least encouraging other rock acts to come over to A Dal to open themselves to the world of many eager people discovering new artists every now and then. Just like the victory of AWS sort of did. Also one of the guys from that band said that their mother was delighted to see his band live, which brings us to...
• ...The Middletonz, a fresh new band for András Kállay-Saunders to leech on through next few A Dals now that the band of his name is no longer a thing. They, and yesyes, were the first ever fan favourites to emerge, mainly for sounding modern and having these artists people hate seeing back to A Dal only because of so many tries in the show, but happy to see back in hopes for them finally taking A Dal by their hands (and for András it’s a ‘finally AGAIN’ moment), but problems arose when the juries weren’t fond of both Middletonz AND yesyes, so much so that the frontman of the latter band spoke that he’s not coming back to A Dal again (unless he lies to us by coming back in 2022 or so). What amuses me more about The Middletonz, other than the song (which is fine for the most part, the D’n’B + acoustics mix is neat and catchy, but the beat drops harder than my will to live, and it IS bad (okay further listens later it’s not THAT bad but still... you gotta have had tried harder, men), is their nationality. Besides the hidden phantom member of the group that we never heard on any interview but appeared to be present (at least on the heat stage of the NF), here we have András, which is Hungarian-American, and his friend of the (nick)name of Slashkovic, which is Dutch-Iranian! That’s a colourful palette of double nationalities. And not to mention, despite it being a minority language, therefore a perfectly fine addition, some Russian language is heard in their song, courtesy of Slashko himself. That and on the A Dal 2019 final night Slashko had his parents watching him perform live for the first time... and based on the amount of years he has hidden that from his parents, it took him SO DAMN LONG somehow to reveal himself. Damn. Anyways, anyone up here to bet we’ll see András again, especially after him being reminded to “never give up” by one of his fans? Well, now that he has definitely seen Joci win A Dal twice on his both attempts, it’s highkey positive. Now with or without Slashko? We’ll see.
• The infamous plagiarism incident, which actually hung like a shadow on one of the contestants and those accusations probably scared him for life, and then the scandal outright knifed out a completely different contestant, Petruska (if you remember him from 2016, you know who he is), a little too late into the competition. If you were so certain his song sounded alike, you’d have either eliminated him in the heats or not accepted his song at all, which... maybe did sound like a Vampire Weekend song, I’ll let you judge.
I can’t be arsed to highlight anyone else because there was a lot to go after. Like, two young-bun A Dal acts that came from the same kidshow (different season though) and one did the song all by himself but couldn’t carry it quite as far despite his basic technotronic visuals, another was completely dependent on Caramel’s songwriting capabilities and fared WAY better than everyone else expected, tied-winning the heat with Joci, being the 3rd qualifier on the semi and beating Gergő Sz. during the superfinal vote-up by 4 points (and Feró’s endorsement lol). Yes the latter person I was talking about was Bogi Nagy. Have her song linked too if you want to listen to it. (I could have also talked about her sitting on a hula hoop and having a long extended projector dress to showcase her childhood pictures onto, but that’s just a song-saving gimmick in my opinion, and I don’t wanna waste my thoughts on her any longer tbh.) And USNK, those two that won X Faktor 2018, Soundcloud-rapped a song about HASHTAGS HASHTAGS HASHTAGS, gave a needlessly over-colourful stage show and took Leander’s spot of qualification to the semis through televoting (and additionally pissed me and borisbubbles off. Ya welcome for an indirect tag too!). Wow. But enough being a bitter Betty, I’ll have to let the bird fly until the next NF season and wait for some more eager names to cheer for, even if they don’t have an exciting “#háttérzaj” of nationalities. Until then, A Dal, my love...

You are living in a dream. You have to be.
The things you do with Sehun together made you wonder what your life could be. Does everybody else lives this way? Do they only have to worry about what to eat for dinner, or going to work in the morning, what to do on the weekends? Life seems so slow here.
You didn't have to deal with gruesome mafia business every day. It wasn’t that much of a deal to see dead bodies or blood before, because you were already trained to be numb about it, either in the prison or in the mafia. But now you can’t bear to think about some of the things you’ve seen or done. Plus, you don’t have to look at Baekhyun’s face and be reminded of your painful history anymore. Every second in front of him was excruciating. You recalled that there had never been a day you went to sleep peacefully, without the problem of insomnia or nightmares.
“Y/N? I’m back.” Turning around, you saw Sehun shutting the door behind him. His hands were busy with three bags of food and a tray of coffee when Sehun fumbled to hang up the jingling keys. When people first meet him, clumsiness is the last thing they would associate him with. Sehun’s defined features and tall height makes him stand out in the crowd too easily, and from the conversations you had in the gala, he left matching impressions to people. Confident, decisive, and a little arrogant.
You couldn't hold it in anymore and giggle. Sehun had finally managed to put everything back in place and shot you an annoyed look.
“Yah, if you are just gonna stay there and laugh, come help me with the food.”
You took the takeout bags from his hand and walked into the kitchen. Once again, its contents were way too heavy for two people to finish.
“Oh Sehun, you are going to make me fat one day! How can we even finish this one thing?” You pointed to the whole chicken when Sehun tapped your shoulder. Turning around, you almost squealed when Sehun pressed a cup of coffee to your lips.
“Three shots, vanilla milk, no sugar.” He repeated your coffee preference, and tapped your lips with the cup again, urging you to try. Closing your eyes, you took a sip and sighed in content.
“Is it good?”
Sehun’s voice sounded too close. You opened your eyes and realized he was less than a foot away from you. You could see each strand of his hair clearly, and distinguish each eyelash. The moment you locked eyes, you froze. The way he looked at you, like he often does,  gave confusing signals. Sometimes you wondered how much of your banters, conversations, and laughs were real. Were you still acting to be someone you are not? Or is this the real you? This just makes contacting Jongin harder for you every time. Thinking about the look of betrayal in Sehun’s eyes hurt you too much.  But despite how much of a dilemma you were in every day, you still text him about updates every week.
“I’m going to take a shower, ok?”
You waited until Sehun closed the bathroom door and took out your other phone. You sat on the bed and contemplated. This is a mission. You shook your head and convinced yourself. You can’t think otherwise.
“Jongin, I can’t-”
“Can’t what, Y/N?” You almost dropped your phone in shock, because instead of Jongin, it was Baekhyun's monotonic voice that reached your ears. You realized just then that it’s the first time you were having a conversation with him on the phone.
“What, Y/N? Cat got your tongue?”
Despite the statics on the phone, you could still hear the mocking tone in his voice clearly. You had imagined what Baekhyun would look like right now, probably the same as the day he came to see you in the hospital.
“You are supposed to meet Jongin in person to debrief every week.”
You tried to calm down your breathing. Because you knew exactly why you changed the plan. You told Jongin it would look suspicious to Sehun if you go out every week because you didn’t want your cover blown. Then it reduced to calls and later texts.
You were afraid.
“It’s been a month, Y/N. Where is the fucking USB?” You could sense how furious Baekhyun was even from the other end of the phone. You gripped on the bedsheet for support.
“I-it must be in his office because I can’t find it anywhere!”
“Don’t give me excuses, you know that’s not true.” Baekhyun paused for a second and chuckled darkly, “Are you living together now? I mean if you are getting comfortable with him, probably too comfortable,” he dragged the last two words longer than necessary, making you aware of what he’s thinking, “Why can’t you get the job done?”
You gripped the phone tightly, “Are you watching me?”
Baekhyun didn't answer.
“You still owe me for saving your life. Don’t forget who you are.”
-Flashback-
“You should go.”  The man before you coughed and tried to sit up, groaning at every move. You jolted awake from his sudden movement and winced at how uncomfortable the chair was. Glancing at the clock on the wall, you realized it has been 3 hours since you helped him home. You quickly grabbed two cushions on his couch and put it under his waist to support him. You didn’t budge and cut the old bandages that were already stained with blood.
“You are not nearly close to being recovered.” He raised a trembling hand trying to stop you, but you pushed it down gently.
“You don’t have any strength now, so just stay still.”
Sehun’s eyes were barely open a centimeter, but you could see the inquisition and silent judgment behind them. You scoffed inside, is he trying to read you when he’s one badly hurt?
Eventually, he chose to lie down and let you do your job. Securing the last bit of new bandages, you sighed in relief. At least this time red didn’t come through the gauze as fast as last time. You inspected his stomach area one more time and made sure everything was treated before moving on to the minor cuts and bruises on his face.
“Go to sleep, it’s only 5am, and you need to rest.” You pressed down an alcohol pad on a cut, Sehun hissed.
“Can’t...hurts too much.” He shook his head weakly. You popped two more painkillers out, but Sehun refused them.
“No, that one.” He pointed to a bottle with clear liquid in them. You picked it up and turned to check the label. Morphine Sulfate. Your eyes widened. How does he have Morphine stored in his house? You knew it’s strictly a prescription medicine. You turned to look at him, “How-”
“Just do it.”
You guessed a minor dose was probably fine. You never took notice until now how organized and professional his first-aid kit is. You tried not to care about little containers of different pills and solutions and fished for a new syringe in the kit.
“You seem to know what you are doing,” Sehun commented, seemingly casual.
You lifted one of your eyebrows when your hand nearly dropped the syringe. He is too smart and too observant for his own good. You realized that Sehun may have more to what he showed on the surface. Should you come up with a cover right now?
“I...am a med student.” You lowered your eyes and pretended to focus on the injection. He wouldn’t want to know why you were so fluent at this.
“First-hand experience, huh?”  You felt the increasing pace of your heart and panicked a little. Is he suspecting something now?
You pulled the syringe out and put a band-aid on.
“Yeah, you have no idea how much.” Unpleasant memories flashed back to your mind, you thought about your times stuck in the hospital under Baekhyun's orders. You’ve been injected with medicine so many times every day that you know exactly what to do even with your eyes closed.
“Do you want to stay here?” Sehun turned his head sideways and stared at you.
To be honest, Oh Sehun had surprised you more than you would think tonight. You froze and widened your eyes. Why would anyone ask a stranger to stay in their house? You opened your mouth, but no syllable came out. He chuckled weakly.
“You saved my life today, besides no normal med school student would go to a party like that,” he glanced you up and down, hands bloodied, dress ripped and stained with his blood. “And not be scared to death already by now.”
-End Flashback-
“Sorry, which one did you tell me you want?”
You and Sehun had gone furnish shopping because he suddenly thought his apartment was too bare and in need of some changes. He's been acting a lot more playful around you than usual, but you don't know if it means good or bad. You glanced at the different couches and was about to tell him that dark grey one looks nice when he spoke up.
“Umm, I think either that one or...this?” You lifted your eyebrows at the ones he was suggesting. One was an ugly mustard color, and the other was a weird emerald green. You were about to protest when his phone suddenly started ringing. Sehun’s face hardened at the caller ID. You were intrigued in an instant.  This must be important. Sehun sent you an apologetic smile and mouthed a word "work".
You nodded, and he took a few steps away from you. From your peripheral vision, Sehun stayed rather silent, humming in response to whatever the person on the other end was saying until he mentioned a specific name.
“Chanyeol-,” your ears perked at the familiar name. It’s been a long time since you’ve heard that name. You still shuddered at the interaction with the CEO of PK Enterprise, he is definitely not some ordinary businessman. Besides, you were sure Oh Sehun is tied to him in some ways. Just then you realized that you don't actually know a lot of things about the man you were living with.
“No, I don’t need you to remind me anymore.” Sehun’s lips were pursed, his tone was terse and cold, unlike the usual him.
This was a different man.
“I need some time off work, tell Xiumin to do it.”
Your ears perked. Why can Sehun talk like that to Chanyeol, like they know each other so well? And who’s Xiumin?
This one phone conversation raised so many questions in your brain, and there you thought Sehun was just a secretary or a close associative under Chanyeol. You sighed, knowing that there won’t be any breakthrough on the USB soon. You suddenly lost the appetite to shop and didn’t even protest when Sehun paid for the mustard couch. You pushed the cart forward mindlessly and didn’t notice Sehun’s frequent glances your way.
“What’s wrong?”
You broke out of your trance and shook your head slightly.
“No-”
“If you don’t like the couch, we can change-”
You plastered a smile on your face and pretended like nothing’s wrong.
“It’s fine, really. I guess I’m just a little hungry.”
You were worried that he would see through your mask, but he nodded like he bought your story. Sehun cocked his head and thought for a while,
“Ah! Let’s eat pasta today! There’s a great place in Itaewon. And we can get bingsu later!”
Sehun brought his car around and helped you in. You closed your eyes and pretended to be asleep. When did you start losing yourself little by little? You were getting more and more used to waking up to a table of food prepared by Sehun, drinking coffee in the morning, and buying groceries with him. Your everyday routine now was so simple, so domestic, but for some reason, you had fallen in love with it. You don’t think it would be easy for you just to leave it to return to the mafia. Somehow you had stopped considering your previous life as normality. Why do you crave being together with Sehun so much now?
----------------------
“Boss. I just sent the pictures.”
Baekhyun found himself clenching his fists, uncontrollable anger rising in him. You looked so happy with Oh Sehun together, like you belong there, next to him.
Baekhyun gently tugged his silver necklace. It’s still there. The diamond shined brightly as ever, and the metal was still cold enough to sting his hand. So why does he feel like losing you little by little? Baekhyun tightened his jaw, he won't let that happen.
“Give me Yixing. It’s time for him to come back.”

Tumblr media
summary; based off the song by 5sos, mark is an aspiring idol. you convince him to audition for SM, even if it meant leaving you behind. but could your love conquer it all?
- shitty summary i know but just try and enjoy this ok, this song gets me emo
- also lowkey tried to find a gif to fit the mood of the imagine but failed lmao
- first time attempting proper angst so yah sorry if it sucks
- word count: 2.2k
for a while we pretended,
that we'd never have to end it
but we knew we'd have to say goodbye
"hey Mark!" you exclaimed while wrapping your arms around Mark's torso. you were both standing outside the school gates, ready to walk home together. he smiled at you brightly, pulling you to his side while beginning to walk. you stayed like that for a while until you spoke up,
"how was your day? i didn't get to see you much" you pouted, causing him to look down at you.
"it was good! i was discussing some music stuff with my teacher that's all" he rubs the back of his neck, you sensed there was something more.
"mhm okay, have you thought about he audition yet?" you regretted asking because that question lead to Mark stopping you both in the middle of the sidewalk.
a few weeks ago you had suggested that Mark audition for SM entertainment in Korea. you knew he had the talent and skills to get into the company, you believed in him whole heartedly. but once you told Mark, he got really tense and couldn't understand why you'd potentially want him to leave you. it wasn't your intention to make it out that way, you just wanted what would be best for him, but he didn't understand. you had an argument about it, but decided to push it away, only for it to be resurfaced at this point in time.
"why do you care so much about that?" he sighed, not trying to show that he was actually getting quite irritated.
"i just want what's best for you" you bowed your head to look at your shoes, unable to make eye contact with him.
"i know you do, but i want to stay here and be with you and go to university together" he mumbled just loud enough for you to hear, trying to get you to look at him.
"but what if we don't even go to the same university, Mark? you can't keep adjusting your life choices so they align with mine." you sighed, afraid of his reaction.
"y/n, how can you say that? is it bad that i want to stay with you? that i actually want us to work?" he started getting even more irritated with you at this point.
"of course i want to be with you, more than anything. but we have different paths in life we want to take. this could be your last chance to show everyone how talented you are. i want you to evolve, even if it means i won't be there" you bit your lip after the last part, regretting your choice of words.
"so what? is this the end of us?" you looked him right in the eyes by now. his eyes were watery, you saw as one tear rushed down his cheek. you wiped it away slowly with your thumb before holding his hands in yours.
"this is not the end of us. i want you to figure out what you want, and i will support you. but i really want you to consider your options. if it's meant to be, nothing will come between us" you assured him, rubbing your thumb slightly along his palm. he nodded gently, before continuing to walk with you. you weren't sure of what the future held, but atleast you had him now.
you were crying at the airport,
when they finally closed the plane doors,
i could barely hold it all inside
he held you tightly. almost too tight, but you didn't care. he was leaving for korea. you both knew he would have been able to make it, and he did. you were beyond proud of him, and he was so thankful to have you support him.
"i'm going to miss you so much" you mumbled into his chest, letting the tears fall, staining his shirt.
"i'm going to miss you too babe, i promise i will make you proud" he softly ran his hands up and down the side of your arms to calm you down. this is what he wanted. this is what he decided. and you couldn't go against that. but why did it feel so painful to see him leave?
Mark didn't cry. he didn't want you to see him break down because he knew he would run back into your arms. as his flight was being called, you held onto his hand tighter than ever before.
"don't forget me, Mark Lee. or i swear i'll come and beat your ass" you joked behind tears, wiping them in frustration.
"i could never forget you even if i tried" he gave a small smile before kissing the back of your hand, pulling you up from the seats and walking to the boarding area.
you still held onto his hand, soaking up his presence for as long as you could. he didn't stop admiring you, even though you were a complete mess at this moment, he still thought you were breathtaking.
"babe, i have to go now. i'll update you on everything! come and visit when school finishes okay? remember, i love you, always and forever" (gosh i totally ripped this off one tree hill sorry my dudes)
you nodded softly, before kissing him. this kiss felt different. it was filled with more emotion than any other kiss you two had shared. as you pulled away, your hands finally detached, his smile faded as he turned his back towards you and boarded the plane. he didn't want to show you that he was upset. that was just him though. as soon as he took his seat on the plane, the tears couldn't stop flowing out. his heart ached at the thought of leaving you, but he knew what he had ahead of him. he knew who he wanted to be, and that's all you had wanted for him.
torn in two,
and i know i shouldn't tell you but
i just can't stop thinking of you
wherever you are
as weeks went on, Mark would update you on his journey in korea. he would send you multiple photos of him doing weird poses near different scenery. he also told you about some of the new friends he's made, as well as how busy his schedule is. you planned to visit him one day, but you were just beginning your own journey through university and it didn't seem ideal for you to go at this moment. you would always update Mark on how you were doing, with fitting in and the work load you would receive.
you laid in bed one night, staring up at your ceiling in your new dorm room. you had multiple stuffed animals lined up beside you, most of them being gifts from Mark. you took one into your arms gently and sighed. you missed him, a lot. he also missed you. you were unsure of how things would unfold, but you had hope that you would be reunited soon. before shutting your eyes, you visioned Mark’s arms being wrapped around your torso, before drifting off to sleep.
[ 3 months later ]
you were well suited into the university lifestyle. you had memorised your time tables and different activities you signed up for. you also made some new friends, one of your best friends as of now, named Renjun. you had met him while you were walking on the streets, looking for a nice place to eat at. he was sketching some trees near a park, and by chance, you happened to observe his drawings. he sat alone, different materials spread out in front of him. you had a spare donut from your little food trip, so you offered it to him, while starting up a conversation.
you and renjun had been inseparable by then. you told him almost everything, especially about Mark.
you and Mark had been talking less frequently, his training had taken up a large portion of his time, pushing you out of the picture.
"hey y/n, are you alright?" Renjun asked while spinning on his chair at his desk. you were both studying in his room, but it consisted mainly of Renjun blasting music while you scrolled through stuff on your phone.
"y-yeah, just thinking i guess" you shrugged, playing with your fingers.
"thinking about Mark?" he sighed, knowing the distance had finally gotten to you at this point. he walked over to your space on the floor and sat beside you.
"yeah, it's just that, i want to call him! and tell him about everything! but he's just so busy and i don't want to bother him anymore than i already do" you groan, putting your head into your hands, an uneasy feeling surfacing your stomach.
"don't say that, i'm sure he wants to call you just as much!" Renjun tried to cheer you up by patting your shoulder softly, maybe he was right.
"it's not that, i'm just scared. i'm scared that he might have lost feelings for me or just doesn't want to see me anymore!" you let out a sigh, unable to express your feelings any further.
"y/n, i want to be honest here. nothing lasts forever, and nothing really stays the same. but if you feel like you have done your part in the relationship, then that's the best you could do! and that should be enough" Renjun laid his hand gently on your shoulder, giving it a small squeeze.
you looked up at him and gave him a sorrow smile, your eyes almost running with tears.
"i guess we'll have to find out what happens next" you sniffle a bit before packing your stuff and heading for his door.
"good luck, you know i'm always here for you" he smiled at you nervously before opening the door for you to leave.
once you had arrived at your dorm room, you dropped your bag onto the floor and slumped your body into your bed. your finger hovered over Mark’s contact name, unsure if you were ready for the confrontation. you needed closure, you needed to set things straight. you needed to stop worrying.
after almost five rings, Mark finally picked up. you could hear some discussions in the background, assuming he was practicing.
"uh hey y/n, what's up?" he spoke, sounding surprised, as expected.
"we need to talk, now." you sternly demanded, not caring if he was busy.
"but i'm kinda busy at the moment, can we just do this another time?" he tried to hurry you along, which you found almost disrespectful.
"when will that be? another three months? i'm sick of it, Mark. i'm sick of the half assed replies, i'm sick of the miscommunication, i'm sick of this distance!" you begin getting aggravated , shuffling around your bed. you heard him move to a quieter area as the noise was blocked out.
"where is this all coming from? i am putting in effort !" he retorted back at you, with a slight touch of disgust in his voice.
"you really don't get it, do you? it's not even about effort anymore! it's about us. and our feelings. i don't even know how you feel about me anymore, and that's what's hurting the most" you sounded small at this point, your voice lowering.
"how about you stop blaming me for everything? i feel different okay? things are different between us right now, and it's both our faults" he was beginning to get agitated himself now.
"it is both our faults, it's our fault, thinking that this would work." you muttered, frustrated tearing now pouring from your eyes.
"what are you saying? you want to break up?" his voice now sounded fragile. as if one more harsh comment would absolutely shatter him.
"you suggested it. i guess that's been on your mind" you mumble, not caring if he heard you at this point.
"y/n, i think that would be ideal right now. you're busy, i'm busy. we don't have time anymore. it would be for the best" he sighed heavily, his breath projecting to your side of the call.
"fine. if that's how this really is going to go down, i'm over it. don't bother contacting me after this, goodbye mark" the last two words were almost projected in a hostile manner. you didn't intend for it to come out as aggressive, but your emotions were over bearing, it seemed like the right thing to say.
after you hung up the call, you tossed your phone to the side and stared at the ceiling. your tears had somehow stopped by then, you held the same stuffed animal in your arms from many nights ago.
"i'll still be thinking about you, wherever you are"
