Ghoul headcanons

WOOO! first post

-Swiss just carries Phantom around like a toddler. Like especially on tour when the poor bug was so tired. Even when he's big (I'll get into little space ghouls later)

-Dew likes smashing pumpkins no you can not argue.

-In my little world Aether and Sunny just retired and no they did not get sent back to the pit my poor soul can not do angst half the time.

-Sunny now has free time and is very close with Mist they are so cute together.

-Phantom can and will wear a dress and rock it (swiss loves it)

-People throw Swiss cheese at Swiss mainly dew but it's funny so it's fine

-Rain just sits at the bottom of the lake and sits for hours tell someone comes looking for him.

-Mario Kart is very serious within the pack and rain always wins

-All the ghoulettes have a girl's night and talk shit on the boys (in an affectionate way) and also figure out how to break them;)

-Mountain gets snowed in the greenhouse sometimes

So one thing I learned from listening to Malevolent and Deviser is that Harlan Guthrie really wanted an evil (morally grey??) disembodied voice to minipulate a sad sad memory loss suffering man covered in blood into brutally beating another person to a strawberry jam of brain matter.

Also kudos to Harlan for making characters who have done a slurry of really fucked up things but you can't really be mad at them for doing them??? God I sound insane.

this was inspired by the fact that i have hyperspecific headcanons for how the geometry of their heads and antennae . like every time i draw them i picture their shapes in my brain and rotate them . it's so fucked up /silly

also note that none of their face patterns are dented into their heads !!! the website just kinda fucks up and gets confused sometimes when merging shapes lmao all of these mfs have flat faces

sorry unparalleled innocence fans inno is not here again because i am Still trying to figure out its colors ( getting distracted and forgetting to ) . i might make a follow up post with its model if i ever get around to it ( and might model my ocs along with it )

LOOKS TO THE MOON

MEWNIE !!! a fairly normal looking iterator head . spherical shape . flat cylindrical earpieces with slots to support the antennae . doesn't get any more standard than that WEHBHJF

her antennae are very much standard too !! average height , average width , rectangular little things with singular yellow strips near the end . just an average old model during a time when the ancients were still in the middle of figuring things out

and also the circle mark on her forehead looks more like a crescent moon or a pearl in my design . which is very cool ( symbolism for both her name having "moon" in it and the fact that she's in the scholar passage )

SLIVER OF STRAW

ok . her design is also fairly standard but her antennae are a bit Strange . i figure this might be around the time the ancients are starting to experiment a little , but not as intensely as they do with the second gens

the rest of my iterator designs with antennae have sharp bends and are usually flattened prisms or extruded shapes , with the silly color patterns clear and visible on the side faces . sliver however . she's got ROUND !! almost like some sort of stretched out cylinder !!! AND her color patterns are on the top face and actually dented into the antennae , making it hard to spot them !!!! what a fucked up design . why is she like this /silly

nothing else of note to say tho so we're moving on :3c

CHASING WIND

WE'RE IN GEN 2 NOW GUYS !!! i actually Don't have a hyperspecific headcanon on what their antennae look like so i just eyeballed it based on how i usually draw them . they're certainly a weird shape . rectangular-ish prism thing that gets wider at the top with an ellipse cut out of it . and the color patterns are at the base of the antennae instead of near the top like they usually would be . they look like fucked up bug horns almost

you see the front of the antennae ? where the oval cutout doesnt reach ? yeah . that's not a modelling mistake . that's intentional . there's one little section where the top is nice and flat . what the fuck is up with these tennas /silly

i may give them a secondary pattern on their face later like suns' Lines On Face (/ref) if i feel like making that a signature design choice for gen 2 iterators . but for now all you get is Peculiar Antennae

NO SIGNIFICANT HARASSMENT

OH BOY . EASILY the one with the weirdest head shape . extruded rounded square for a head . screen face . no antennae at all . fucking Gamer Headphones . he was built WAY too different . built correctly ( fit for his purpose ) but also not ( breaks every single known iterator puppet design convention ) /silly j

on a more serious note , his earpieces are significantly thinner ( more flush with his head ) than average , and don't have the antenna notches !! that's the only reasonable comparison i can make tho because he looks SO Fucking Different

there are other little details that i feel i have to mention . like his screen is dented inwards a little . his 'mic' thing isn't touching his face but only by a slim margin . his fucked up eyeball isn't flat or dented in but actually extends out in the shape of a semicircle ish thing . yeah that's about it honestly

SEVEN RED SUNS

okay back to relative normalcy . except the shape of their antennae fucked me up SO bad that it was the sole reason i decided to model these fucks in the first place

they're almost triangular prisms but the outward facing triangle is like slanted inwards slightly . which makes the upright lateral faces weird right trapezoids instead of rectangles . but also they have extra joints at the base of their antennae which allow for more movement !! Thankfully those joints a pretty normal shape ( ordinary cuboid )

also another detail i want to mention is the Lines On Face . the lines bend at 90 degree angles . the left / right sides disappear below the earpieces but the bottom sides kinda just . Stop . after some point . idk that's all i have really

FIVE PEBBLES

AAAAND with gen 3 we've looped back to fairly standard looking !!! he looks just like his sister but with the colors swapped around , and longer thinner antennae . and the fuckass stripes on his face i guess . one of the newest models , yet with little to no thought put into customization , since his creators are getting tired of waiting

it's interesting to me how he's the only design without a symbol logo thing in the middle of his forehead . perhaps the ancients ran out of feasible forehead symbols ? or maybe just a staple of gen 3 iterators ? who knows . all i can do is speculate and make shit up

Chuuya knows I grew up in the mafia in America, so when mori brings up the idea of my promotion he's not the happiest abt it. Not bc he thinks I'd be bad at it, quite the opposite in fact, he knows I'd be great as an executive, but he just wants more for me. He wishes at least one of us could have a chance to experience a normal life for the first time. However neither of us really have a bad life currently, we're treated well enough and like the work, so there's nothing pressing us to leave except for his secret desire. And he'd much rather give that chance to me if he was ever given the opportunity, but he knows it doesn't matter bc I would never leave him and i *do* like the pm, and he feels the same way. So none of that really matters, and he gives a glowing review to ensure I'm promoted, bc at least then we can spend more time together.

This got long but I have more thoughts I don't wanna put in the tags. I'm unsure if chuuya is still tethered to the pm in the same way that he was recruited. But even if not, I don't think he would really have a reason to leave, he likes his job and he's not a grudge holder. However just bc of his personality I think even if he had to become the boss he wouldn't try to leave either, despite everything that happened with the sheep.

Chuuya takes care of everyone at his own expense, and I think being an executive is the perfect position for him. He is an excellent leader but having someone who gives *him* orders as well works out the best for him. He's too empathetic to be someone who has to make the kinds of sacrifices a mafia boss does.

What is their favourite song and why did you pick it?: I've never thought about this for her... Um. Hm. I'm listening to Beauty's Wicked Wiles by Masayoshi Soken right now. Maybe she'd like it. Or Equilibrium. With Equilibrium I think she'd specifically like it since it's fun for her to sing. Or Flow! I've been in an FFXIV mood recently...

What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?: She loves performing! Singing, acting, dancing, anytime she's on stage. What she hates to do.. Hm. I've yet to actually read POTO, so I fear saying something out of character... I do think she isn't the most fond of having to fight people for the company's sake. Likely gets through battles with gritted teeth, and a prayer and apology beforehand.

Gaia (LCB):

What do they do when they lose? Do they lose often?: Oh she's such a sore loser. Gets upset and dismissive and storms off. She views it as a moral failure upon herself, being bested by someone. Regarding if she loses often... I don't believe so. While she's cocky, she likely doesn't enter situations she can't win, and even if one, believes in her ability to turn things in her favor.

Pick their favourite flower, and then look up what it symbolises!: Ah, this one's a bit fun, since I actually know a bit about flowers. I think she'd like foxgloves, lillies, and hyacinths. Foxgloves have historically been used for medicinal purposes, while also being poisonous in some cases, which I think is befitting of Gaia- The duality of oneself. They also have a bit of spiritual significance, being associated with the Virgin Mary, but there isn't much of a connection to Gaia in that... Lillies I think she'd like not only for their appearance, but also since they're also associated with sapphic relationships, so it's a funny addition. Lillies are most known for being associated with purity and innocence, which isn't the most fitting of her- You could stretch it and say it fits her lovers, in that case? For hyacinths, they are sometimes used to symbolize jealousy, mourning, rebirth, and pride- All important themes to Gaia's character. Flower language is always a bit difficult to speak of in general terms, due to them being viewed differently in different cultures, as well as different colors meaning different things- So apologies for any vagueness within this.

What is their worst trait?: Her pride is her biggest downfall. She refuses assistance in all circumstances, and drives others away since she acts superior to them. It drives wedges between her and others, only leading to her loneliness, which then continues to exacerbate her rough demeanor.

Is their current design the first one?: In terms of the LCB version, yes! I designed her like... This week. She does have her Illegal Unovian appearance, however, which has been in existence since 2022/2023.

Ryne:

What motivates them?: Ryne truly wants to become her own person, detach herself from the role previously forced upon her, discover herself, overcome her past. She is also deeply motivated by her father and girlfriend, wanting to be the best she can for them, as well as provide for them whenever possible. She doesn't want to be defined by others anymore, bloom wants to control her own life. It's hard work, though, working through a lifetime of abuse- She's glad she has her father and Gaia by her side, at the very least.

What is their weirdest habit, and why do they have it?: Obsessively skin picks and compulsively prays at specific times when spiraling. Chess has OCD. On a lighter note, she's capable of completely swapping to an American accent, and will randomly do it in conversations to catch others off guard and laugh at their reactions.

What do you like most about the OC?: It's really nice to have an OC that truly strives to not be defined by her past and her trauma- To actively be working through it, to have ups and downs, to struggle, but still push through. I can truly only attribute that to Ryne within our system, of whom this OC is the sona of. Ryne's perseverance is truly something I admire. Also I really like her design :]

I finally have the energy to go into lil ghouls so I might as well!:D

here’s a idea of the ages I see when they regress from oldest to youngest!

-swiss: 9 to maybe 11

-aurora: 8 to 9 something like that (I’m very rough on this idea so this might change)

mountain: 6 to 7

-rain: 6 to 4

-phantom: 3 maybe 4

-dew: like six months to one year

maybe aether regresses haven’t thought much into it yet

Swiss doesn’t regress a lot Aurora doesn’t either. phantom and rain are little a lot more then Swiss and Aurora but rain is often the one to take care off phantom and aether takes care of Swiss when he does regress all tho it’s more off just making sure he doesn’t get himself in trouble he’s pretty good by himself. Aurora likes to be around Ifrit but mostly cumulus and cirrus and sunshine they give her girls nights and it’s so cute! Rain likes to have dew take care of him. And mountain likes to stay with dew when he’s little. Swiss takes care of phantom a lot too. Aether and mountain are dews main caregivers

I can go more into it with hcs and maybe lil ficlets but writing isn’t my thing so well see

It was really no problem! You weren't the only one who expressed to me that it was difficult to read. I don't care that much about the colors, they're just fun and look pretty. I care a lot more about people being able to read stuff lol.

I think I've found kind of the sweet spot for colors that look good in both dark and light mode. The purple I had before was just too dark, that's all. And I coulda kept the grey maybe or just darkened it a little perhaps, but I thought the red looked better. Well, it's kind of a rusty red, it has a lot of orange in it. I was kinda trying to go with blood but not too dark y'know?

ER anyway, thank you for bringing it to my attention! I want people to tell me if there's something like that going on, so I can fix it! Most of the time I don't even realize lol.

thinking about iterators ( again )

i have so many thoughts about iterators every day it's actually insane . i'm going to be dumping today's thoughts here

do you think the iterators do anything other than iterate ? i feel like some of them , after being abandoned by the ancients , would have hobbies of some sort . it seems hard to have hobbies when you're a stationary supercomputer megastructure though

does rain world technology work similarly to ours ? could an iterator string data together in specific ways to create things ? could they draw like that ? could they make music like that ? could iterators be capable of art , and would they be able to share it ?

they're able to create purposed organisms , and we know of at least one iterator who doesn't take their intended job very seriously ( nsh ) , so iterators coming together to make art is not too farfetched . it'd shouldn't be hard for them to compose songs , write literature , make drawings , etc. and it's kind of beautiful in a way

if they could draw , do you think they'd make pixel art ? art with equations like pieces made using desmos graphing calculator ? vector graphics ? it doesn't seem likely that they'd draw like we do , unless they somehow manage to code up an art program for themselves ( if that's even possible )

here comes the self indulgent bit . and the original thought that sprouted this train of thinking . if they could make music , do you think it'd be chiptune-esque ? 8-bit ? maybe something like gameboy music . maybe something like chipzel , danimal cannon , zef , fearofdark ... theoretically they should be able to produce any kind of music they want , but i wanna lean towards this just because

if you can't tell i'm listening to that kind of music right now . specifically this cover of rolling down the street in my katamari . i don't know the proper terminology for this kind of stuff , but seeing the waves on the side ... watching the notes flow on the midi display thing ... it's so mesmerizing . i can't help but think iterators would make stuff like this if they could
