lifis cleans up a bit in his act, and so i thought that would translate to his appearance too! it’s somewhat sloppy still, but there’s a surprising effort being made — precisely how i would describe lifis’ canon ending.

lifis turns over a new leaf, using his latent charisma to become a good statesman after leif gives him power; he atones for his past, ridding his domain of pirates — the exact problem he used to be, but he does not stay to revel in the glory. as soon as he’s done, he disappears from jugdral altogether, no longer the man who wants to keep power over others. he is not abusing it anymore but rather using it for the benefit of others and then abandoning it once he sees he has nothing more he can offer for them.

the thief’s decision to leave jugdral makes it feel like though he was intending to become a new man altogether, he had nothing to tie him back. he’s given up on his conquest for safy, leaving her in peace, and he never really had anyone. perne, the man he resents from his childhood, is also turning into a different man after the war. jugdral is no longer his home, and he must find it elsewhere. he must start anew.

new lands, new faces, new bonds. perhaps in this next land, he’ll commit to being a better man. perhaps in this next land, he will also do a better job at making genuine bonds with no ulterior motives. and perhaps, in this next land, he might have a future for himself that has someone who loves him genuinely with no empty promises or lies between them, but he will have to work for that, and he has a lot of work left to do.

anyway i honestly don’t think it’s reasonable to believe lifis got married at all canonically. he tries to atone for his mistakes, yes, but the minute he was done with that, he made a clean break from the life that leif apparently guaranteed him. if anything, that reads to me that lifis learns to feel guilt and also that he’s a bit avoidant of a typical, clean life with stability. marriage doesn’t necessarily equate that, but it shares some factors imo

now, on a more FUN side of the shenanigans, i’ll say 100% if the thracia crew was actually there for askr festivals, i feel like an easy way to trick lifis into participating in the bridal festival is to tell him safy is there for whatever reason and he’ll go through the pain of dressing up for it and everything, which in turn, gets shiva probably involved in that mess too. and i’ll be real, i’m totally here for that comedic trio being chaotic at a festival.

i was reviewing some stuff in fe4 for Reasons and i’ve pinned down where most of my jugdral muses lived based on canon evidence tho i won’t burden with explanations this time, just simple headcanons / explicitly stated facts

lene: spends majority of life in darna in yied after being left in a convent there

leif: born in leonster, moves when he’s three to a nearby village and then is later housed in alster under the royal family’s protection. once the king is executed, leif travels through various places, most notably spending some time in tahra. tahra is surrounded by imperial troops when he is twelve, forcing him to flee. he eventually arrives in the village of fiana ( located on the east coast of thracia ) that same year and spends the next chapter of his life there until he turns fifteen.

dew: born and “raised” in verdane, presumably around marpha

iuchar: early on lives in dozel in grannvale but occupies isaach’s capitol for a few years later on

tine: born in silesse, possibly moved to friege in grannvale for a short time before ultimately spending most of her time at alster in the manster district

febail: ambiguous birthplace but grows up in the manster district, specifically in a conote orphanage, before he becomes a traveling hitman

coirpre: spends infancy in a convent in darna (yied) but gets adopted by hannibal. gets moved to thracia and mostly lives in castle mease. debatably spends a decent amount of time in kapathogia and purple dragon mountain.

deimne: born and raised in isaach’s capitol, moved to tirnanog for a few years to live and train with oifey

lifis: born in a thief village, though its location is unknown. presumably somewhere along the border of the manster district and the kingdom of thracia though.
