New year, new Fandometrics!

The world bid farewell to 2023 and rang in 2024, welcoming the initial Steamboat Willie version of Mickey Mouse into the public domain in predictably interesting ways, including drawing comparisons between the original Mickey and Sonic the Hedgehog’s eye styles. Fans are halfway through the live-action Percy Jackson and the Olympians show, and the general consensus is “protect these children at all costs.” Kenna Jean Harris, the story lead of Luca and director of Ciao Alberto, confirmed that Luberto is canon, so congrats to those fish boys and everyone who ships them. The highly anticipated anime adaptation of beloved manga Dungeon Meshi has begun airing. And we’ve made some small changes to this year’s Fandometrics lists. This is Tumblr’s Week in Review.

Closed starter for @lencra Setting: The Stormlands, an Inn en route to Summerhall. Set after the wedding of Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen and Lady Lenora Lefford.

His familial duties led him south much to his displeasure, a tiresome and long journey that annoyed him endlessly. It was a trip he was willing to make for his sister's sake, however, as he was set to be the one to give her away on her wedding to her brooding, stormy lord. The inn presented a much-needed respite, another much-needed stop along the way.

The Knight of Ninestars had settled into a comfortable room, requesting to be given the most spacious one available. Twilight began to give way to a starry night out the window as he enjoyed a soothing bath. He planned to leave bright and early to continue the journey, so he went downstairs to meet with the maid to ask for some food and drink to be ready for him for the morning. That was when he spotted her.

Lenora Lefford.

Lenora, now a consort princess of the Crownlands. The last thing he'd told her when they said their goodbyes to each other was that she would be alright. That she had a good future ahead of her. Her family arranged for her to marry a fucking green dragon of all people, though, so he'd only been partially mistaken in what he last said to her.

Guy named Nicolas wins a lottery to go to a new world.

Proceeds to get his ass beat as a distraction for his friend to have a better life before he leaves.

I guess people may become different beings after going to a new world, so he turns into an axolotl person.

Ngl, I originally forgot why/how Percy got to the top of the Arch but remembered that he fell from it.

The way Annabeth nerds out about the arch was cool.

There was a certain energy that came with watching the sun rise, and Aryin could not for the life of her put it to words. mikayla wants to believe she's above proving herself to men, but unfortunately, that doesn't apply when it sounds like a challenge. with an indignant snort, she glances in percy's direction, her spear turning in her hand. “haven't you, like, been to actual hell?” she deadpans—but considering that, maybe he deserves a break. regardless, it doesn't matter, because her pride won't allow for anything else. she lets out a bored sigh, masking the apprehension she feels. “you've done this before anyway, right? i think annabeth's mentioned something about you two getting ares' shield from a... water park, or something.” the only reason she remembers in the first place is because it has to do with her mother; that's the same reason she's here in the first place, retrieving aphrodite's belt, as if that might earn her some attention, despite the goddess' handmaiden being the one to ask—because even when she wants help, apparently her mother can't bother to acknowledge mikayla's existence directly.

“so what's the worst that can happen? we get trapped in a stupid net?” she scoffs at the idea, likely too sure of herself for her own good. mikayla doesn't want to appear too eager to win her mother's approval, so she acts like it's percy's words that motivate her instead, poking the spearhead at the ground before them before stepping forward, allowing a few more steps before she turns back to look at him, eyebrows raised expectantly. “it's fine. nothing happened.”
