I'm sure a lot of us were expecting a pure Korean word for his name, right? But 'Eden'??? There's actually an explanation for that.

Let's first read an excerpt of Cale's thoughts:

What should I name the Dragon Half-Blood? I tried to think of names with good meanings, like Raon or Dodam. I thought about words that are pretty or cool among the pure Korean words. But does it matter to the Dragon Half-Blood? Raon and Dodam. The two dragons were named with the hopes of the children growing up. But what would be the point of saying them to a Dragon Half-Blood? To be cool? To be happy? To have fun? What's the point of telling the Dragon Half-Blood to be something? Identity. Identity is what bothered this guy. That's why he's constantly searching for his place. "Whether you're a Dragon Half-Blood. Whether you're my enemy. Whether you're a bone dragon." The Dragon Half-Blood came to Cale in various forms. Cale wanted to speak to the one who had lived for nearly a thousand years, the one who hadn't found himself for so long. "Whatever you are, you are you." Whether (Eden). A word used to list two or more things that make no difference which one is chosen. Whether you're a Dragon Half-Blood. Whether you're an enemy or not. Whether you're anything. "To me, you are you, to us, you are you. There is no difference."

이든 is pronounced as "ideun" in Korean. According to the Naver Korean-English dictionary, it is a postpositional particle used when it does not matter which one is chosen. Thus, it can be translated in English as the word "whether".

Interestingly, when the Hebrew word "Eden" is translated into Korean, it uses ideun 이든 too.

Cale also uses some clever wordplay here. If you add the Korean word for "what (무엇)" to the word "whether (이든)", it becomes "whatever/anything (무엇이든)". So Cale tells Eden that he can become anything because it did not matter to them who he was. Eden was just Eden to them. 🥰🥰🥰

It's a good day today because we finally have DHB's naming scene. As for what happens next chapter, I'm not sure. It can be more explanation about Eden's new status, or a wrap-up of what happened to Aipotu. Perhaps an explanation about the 1st Evil that was suddenly mentioned in today's chapter too.

모바일 기기를 듀얼 모니터로 쓰기

많은 분들이 모르는 팁입니다. 모바일 기기를 듀얼 모니터로 쓰는 방법이 있습니다. 물론 실제 모니터를 하나 더 두는 것이 좋지만 비용적인 부담이 있거나 잠깐씩 쓰고 싶을때는 이 방법도 유용합니다.

모니터를 쓸 수 있는 기기 : Windows, macOS 모니터로 쓸 수 있는 모바일 기기 : Android 기기, Android를 지원하는 Chromebook, iOS/iPadOS

※ 무선 연결 방식은 모바일 기기와 PC가 동일한 Wi-Fi 혹은 이더넷 네트워크로 연결되어 있어야 합니다. ※ Chromebook의 경우 Android를 지원하는 크롬북이어야 하며 크롬북의 Google Play에서 '이 기기는 지원하지 않습니다.'라는 문구가 뜬다면 해당 앱은 사용이 불가합니다. 또한 크롬북의 경우 어떤 형태의 제품(노트북, 스마트패드, 올인원, 박스, 스틱)이든 유선 방식은 지원하지 않습니다.

Twomon SE(유) - 만원의 가격으로 구입할 수 있는 유료 앱. 역시 Windows를 사용하는 PC에서만 사용이 가능합니다. 다만 아이패드의 경우 전압문제로 PC에서는 기기 인식이 잘 안되는 경우가 있고 안드로이드는 ADB 드라이버가 필요하다는 단점이 있습니다. (과거 이 모든 문제를 무선 방식으로 해결한 Twomon Air도 있었으나 언젠가 소리소문 없이 내려갔네요) 3. Duet Display(무/유) - 인지도는 관련 앱 중에서 가장 높고 홈페이지 상에 전세계 수천개 기업이 신뢰하는 앱이라고 홍보합니다. 다만 비쌉니다.. 1회성 결제 가격이 $199(약 20만원대)에 달합니다. 월별 구독 요금도 있는데 $4입니다. 하지만 macOS 버전을 지원한다는 점이 특징입니다. (아이패드는 이미 macOS의 보조 모니터로 쓰는 사이드카 기능이 있습니다만 안드로이드를 매킨토시와 쓴다면..)

특정한 기기에서 지원하는 방법 아래에 소개하는 방법은 지원하는 스마트패드와 PC에서만 사용이 가능합니다. 그리고 무료라는 특징이 있습니다. 1. Galaxy Second Screen - 지원하는 갤럭시 탭과 무선 화면 공유(Wireless Display) 기능을 하드웨어와 소프트웨어 차원에서 지원하는 Windows 10 20H1(2004) 이상의 운영체제를 사용하는 컴퓨터에서 사용 가능. 기본적으로는 삼성PC에서 원할이 작동하지만 타사 PC여도 하드웨어만 받처준다면 사용 가능하다고 합니다. 무선만 지원하며 유선 연결은 미지원 합니다. 저는 1번에서 소개한 SpaceDesk를 통해 갤럭시 폴드 펼침 상태로 Windows PC에 연결해 보았는데 잘 됩니다. (Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-9100T CPU @ 3.10GHz 3.10 GHz, Windows 11 Home 23H2) 무료에다가 무선 연결까지 됩니다!

물론 위에서 언급했듯 제대로된 작업을 하려면 싸구려 모니터라도 하나 사시는게 좋겠으나 어쩌다 한두번씩 듀얼모니터를 쓸일이 생기는 경우라면 이런 방식도 꽤 유용합니다. 다만 무선 연결의 경우 동영상 창을 가상의 모니터에 옮기면 동영상이 툭툭 끊기는 증상이 있으니 참고하세요.

목회자들을 포함해서 여전히 한국 교회안에 있는 많은 사람들은 "가나안 성도" 또는 "미션얼 처치"를 급조됐거나 곧 사라질 어떤 현상이나 운동으로 간주한다. 이에 대해 좀 더 적극적인 사람들은 이를 분석하고 대안을 찾아 새로운 것들을 만들어 가려고 노력한다. 물론 이런 시도들은 그 자체로 의미가 있다. 그러나 가장 중요한 것을 놓치고 있는 것 같은 느낌을 지울 수가 없다. "가나안"이든 "미션얼"이든 이것들은 어떤 현상정도가 아니라, 정체성에 관한 것이다.

이를 한 존재의 생애로 표현하자면, 어머니 태로부터 가장 신비로우며 존귀한 존재가 이 새상에서 태어나, 눈을 뜨고 소리를 듣고 젖을 먹으면서 그 존재는 본격적으로 자라가기 시작한다. 유아기를 거쳐 아동기로 그리고 청소년기를 넘어 성인으로 성장해 가는 것처럼, 한국 교회를 포함한 전 우주적 교회는 정체성 찾기를 통해 자라가고 있는 거다.

일반화 시킬 수는 없지만 예를 들면, 영국을 중심으로 한 유럽 교회들은 이런 내용안에서 아마 청년기 쯤에 온 것 같다. 호주나 북미 교회들은 청소년기 쯤, 그리고 한국 교회는 이제 막 자기 표현을 하고 무언가를 주도적으로 하려고 하는 아동기 쯤 되지 않나 싶다.

내 요점은 그러니까, 이 같은 조짐이나 현상은 없었던 것이 하늘에서 뚝 하고 떨어진 것이 아니라, 자라면서 성장통을 겪고 있는 자연스러움이라는 거다. 이 시기를 건너 뛰고 성인이 되는 법은 없단 말이다.

분석하고 진단하는 사람들은 열심히 그 일을 하면 된다. 또는 대안을 찾아 무언가를 시도해 보고 싶은 사람들도 진정성 있게 그런 일을 해 나가면 된다. 나는 이런 몸부림들이 자신이 누구인가에 대한 "정체성" 질문에 길을 보여 줄 수 있다고 믿고 있다.

노파심에서 마지막으로 한마디를 덧 붙이자면, 특히 이런 움직임들을 관망하거나, 폭력적 저 자세로 모니터링하는 사람들에게 한마디 하자면...

Éden (이든) — Sahaphap Jirochtikul — nasceu em Seul, Coreia do Sul, sendo descendente de tailandeses. Seus pais acabaram saindo da Tailândia por conta do trabalho, já que eram empregados de uma empresa sul-coreana e, após a conquista do visto de residência, não deixaram mais o país, construindo a família ali. No início, tudo poderia ser resumido como perfeito. A mãe e o pai tinham uma relação ótima entre si e com o filho e o dinheiro não era um problema para eles.

No entanto, quando Éden completou 7 anos, uma traição por parte do pai foi descoberta e, já decidida, a mãe iniciou o pedido de divórcio, o que resultou no sumiço do marido — o famoso “foi comprar cigarro”. Na cabeça de uma criança, nada do que havia acontecido fazia sentido e, sendo estabanado e desbocado desde pequeno, ele vivia questionando a mãe sobre o seu pai, a qual nunca sabia direito o que responder, pois também não sabia sobre o homem.

Ambos levaram a vida por 1 ano, sem grandes problemas, mas com um Éden cada vez mais magoado e triste. Várias vezes, a mãe o pegava chorando pelos cantos e ele sempre se recusava a falar o motivo. Durante as horas semanais com a psicóloga, ele se abria um pouco mais, mas ainda com medo de que mais pessoas ao seu redor sumissem. As coisas apenas começaram a melhorar quando o tio do garoto, irmão da sua mãe, foi morar com ambos.

O homem virou o confidente do pequeno Éden e continuou sendo durante a adolescência também. Ele ajudava o sobrinho com tudo: as paqueras, os estudos, a saúde, os esportes… E nunca pedia nada em troca, porque isso era “ser família”. Entretanto, quando o garoto completou 17 anos, uma frase de apenas 3 palavras fez com que ele voltasse a ter sete anos, sentindo-se pequeno, incapaz e solitário. “Seu tio morreu”. Foi tudo o que a sua mãe disse após buscá-lo na escola e levá-lo ao hospital. A forma? Suicídio. Só a partir daí, Éden descobriu que o tio era diagnosticado com TOC e depressão. E a culpa inundou o garoto.

Aos 27 anos, após se tornar enfermeiro, com especialização em enfermagem intensiva neonatal e pediátrica, o jovem descobriu um câncer no fígado. Uma parte do seu mundo caiu e se destruiu. Esse diagnóstico simplesmente não fazia sentido para si mesmo e ele se sentiu solitário mais uma vez, então, ele apenas engoliu e respirou fundo, sem contar para ninguém e fingindo que tudo estava completamente normal.
