Author’s Note: This was requested by a lovely anon. Tysm for the idea! I hope you don't mind that I wrote them as headcanons. I haven't had much time for full fics recently.

🌹The first time someone sees you with John you're collecting the laundry, a large basket at your hip piled high with all his unwashed shirts. "Have we got a new washerwoman in town, Charlie?" Curly asks, scratching his head as he sees you passing on the street.

"Don't look like any washerwoman I ever saw," Charlie says ogling you.

💌The second time, you're in the betting shop, nibbling on the end of a pencil as you think of a clever note to leave on John’s desk. Linda rolls her eyes as she complains, "Perfect, they've sent me another useless idiot who can't do simple maths." When you disappear, she assumes you quit. "Thanks be to Jesus for that," she mutters under her breath.

❤️ The third time your presence is much harder to miss, a sharp cry of pleasure erupting from the snug in the Garrison. "Has John got a whore in there?" Isaiah asked, turning to Finn with a wicked smirk. Their suspicions seemed to be confirmed when you left minutes later, money in hand and a smoldering kiss to send you on your way.

🌹 The mystery of your presence remains in the following days and soon Tommy becomes suspicious as well. “I knew he was spending too much time in Solomons’ territory,” he grumbles, pacing the floor of his office. “What if that dodgy fucker sent her here?"

"A spy?" Polly chuckles as she leans back in her chair.

"Why not use a pretty girl to turn his head?," Tommy reasoned with a huff of frustration. When she rolled her eyes in return he shouted, "Everyone knows John thinks with his cock!"

💌 The family meeting begins without John who appears twenty minutes late, stuffing his shirt into the back of his trousers. Running to the meeting from your arms is difficult enough, but now the entire family is boring holes into him, expecting an explanation. When they begin telling him of their suspicions, his mouth drops open.

"You being serious, Tom?" he asks. "All of you?" he looks around the room aghast. Slowly everyone nods. "Bloody hell..." his voice drops as removes his cap and drops into a chair crestfallen.

❤️ Polly begins to look worried, leaning forward at the table to ask, "John, if this girl is going to be trouble, we need to know."

"Always thinking the worst, ain't ya?" he answers bitterly. Then he shakes his head with a little laugh, which angers Arthur first.

"You fucking laughing at us? Finn and Isaiah saw you pay the little tart! What's that about, eh?" he grumbles, anger contorting his face.

"What the fuck did you call her?" John seethes, lunging for his brother. A scuffle breaks out between them which Tommy and Uncle Charlie have to stop before either of them can land a punch.

🌹 John straightens his clothes as he begins, "Yeah, she's my girl. But she ain't a whore and she ain't a spy for Alfie fucking Solomons either alright? Moved to Saltley two years ago with her mum. I had it checked out....'M not as stupid as everyone thinks." He sniffs and takes a look around the room to see disbelief still hanging in the air. "Why is that so hard for you to believe?"

Polly places a hand on his arm, "We're listening, go on."

💌John's eyes soften as he speaks of you. "She takes care of me, does the laundry and shopping, leaves me kind notes..." Eyes glazing slightly at the memory he turns to Arthur adding, "Sucks me dry, I swear to God. Yesterday I thought--"

"We believe you," Polly interjects with a firm nod. Turning to her other nephew she states, "Tommy, I think this item of business is closed."

❤️ You're invited to the next family dinner as a way to placate John, but also for the others to get to know you. When they do, they adore you instantly and John is rightfully vindicated. "Shouldn't have doubted me," John reminds them.

"I know. I was wrong to say you were only thinking with your cock," Tommy apologizes.

A WELL WATERED GARDEN:

During quarantine last year everyone somehow got into gardening. Maybe because you were more at home and saw that your garden needed some work or maybe because you finally had the time to work on your garden. Regardless, I think we all can agree, having a well kept garden requires lots of time and above all patience.

Just like everyone else, I too got into gardening and one of my favorite plants I got was a beautiful rose bush. I had heard different things about growing roses and was convinced I could do it. During the year I had maintained a nice garden but

when the winter storm hit ALL my plants died, expect one my rose bush. I convinced myself I wouldn't pull out the rose bush even though it looked dead. Im glad I didn't because I finally saw a little rose bud after 6 months.

There is a lot we can learn from this little rose bush. Last week I posted something about feeding our spirit and knowing what is good for our soul. Just like our spirit if we forget to water it or give it spiritual nourishment it will never grow. It also takes time for a flower to bloom and grow just like our spirit. A beautiful garden does not happen over night it requires time and patience just like us. And even when something as destructive as a winter storm, the plant survived because of its strong roots that kept it alive.

If we have roots firmly planted in our faith we can endure the strongest of storms, droughts and the winds of change. The Bible says, "The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." (Isaiah 58:11)🌱⚘🌷🌹

💖 Has your OC ever been in love, be it romantic or platonic or otherwise? Who with and did they ever express their feelings or keep it private? How long did these feelings persist / do they still feel this way?

as of now, he's had only one relationship - in which he was with his now manager, szarla, in year 12 and his first two years of uni. while the relationship was on fairly good terms and they got on well as friends, as romantic partners it wasn't the case; whether that was szarla being too loud and argumentative, or isaiah taking a while to warm up to the idea of being affectionate, something didn't quite work out.

💋 How affectionate are they with their friends? Their family? Their romantic partner(s) (if they have any)? Are they more physical or emotional when it comes to displaying their affection? Why?

he takes a bit of a while to be affectionate with newer friends due to general personal discomfort (i.e. he's terrified of coming across as weird, clingy, or a creep) - but when he warms up, he REALLY warms up.

when it comes to his affection, it's a mix of physical and emotional - but touch is his main love language; he's the type to let you rest on him during a long train ride home, to give people a forehead kiss while wishing them save travels, so on. he doesn't like to admit it, but he's an absolute sap.

he really likes calm and ambient music (such as something you'd hear on a "lofi beats to study to" video on youtube), anything honey flavoured or scented will always be met with a beaming smile, and he likes dogs

as mentioned earlier, he doesn't like loud and argumentative people all that much, and people who kick up a fuss over small things irritate him. he also doesn't like being around crowds; at best it will just make him uncomfortable and feel grimy, at worst it will make him actively anxious.

📙 What kind of subjects (of conversation, of discussion, in school or whatever) does your OC find interesting or engaging or that they can talk for hours about? What kind of stuff do they just find fun?

he really enjoys graphic novels, comic books and manga a lot, and almost studied illustration because of it. he and sophie tend to share a lot of manga/anime related trivia with each other, and in turn has an avenue to infodump about the latest thing he's read.

he also had a budding interest in visual effects makeup for a bit, but that never really came to anything save for fun halloween costumes and random facts.

she can make friends at a reasonable pace, and hasn't really made many enemies - at least, ones she's aware of anyway. she tends to keep to herself, but if she sees someone else is alone, she may go talk to them in case they're out of place as opposed to disliking company.

she hasn't really got a particular favourite person at the moment; she likes what she likes. however, once in a blue moon, someone will catch her eye - which could possibly be her favourite? idk

bobbie's veers into spoilers but generally she is optimistic in a "i'm trying to reassure myself things are okay but i know shit could fall apart at any moment' type way. she tends to be somewhat impulsive as a result of this mentality, sometimes in a "i don't know what else to do" way and sometimes in a "HAHA what could possibly go wrong" way.

isaiah can be a bit pessimistic sometimes, but he generally is a bit more of a realist and tries to strive for objectivity with his decisions.

💤 What was your OC like as a baby, a child and as a teen? (if your OC is a teen or a child, what will they be like as an adult?). How have they changed since then? What lessons have they learned and what things about their youth do they miss the most? Do they have any general regrets?

contrary to his adult self, isaiah was a very loud and talkative toddler/small child who would loudly try to befriend anyone he made eye contact with. nowadays he's a bit more withdrawn and anxious when meeting new people - unless he's had familiar people like bobbie, szarla or others vouch that they're cool.

bobbie, however, remained fairly consistent throughout her life. she had always been a fan about learning about people, but her new found ability to talk was only a recent occurrence. prior, she would mostly sit in the library and read anything and everything. she wasn't necessarily reclusive or awkward, but rather she felt that spending most of her time and energy trying to read people when they spoke indirectly was exhausting.
