These are just a couple of that I came up with on the spot. If you have any ideas, please share!

˗ˏˋ꒰ 🍒 ꒱ 𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐔 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐒𝐇𝐈 - another pair which is like day and night. Much like the day and night cycle though, they work seamlessly with one another and need each other to cooperate properly. Wakatoshi keeps the peace while Tendou keeps you on your toes. Quite the package dare I say!

Tendou keeps you happy and entertained. Well, as much as he can without freaking you out but he always somehow manages to do just that in the end. Sometimes it is intentional, other times it is not. It's just that kind of effect Tendou has on people and he can't really help it. You either like him or you don't.

Ushiwaka is the stable pillar of peace with a sprinkle of need deep inside him. He's not as touchy as Tendou is but he wishes he was. He fantasizes about holding you but you are usually left in his friends care so he's not in the picture.

When he is, he is awkward. Imposing, but he doesn't mean to be.

That is where the eccentric red head steps in to help his buddy. Unlike Ushiwaka, he actually does have the capacity for some emotional intelligence. Ushiwaka meanwhile is on par with a celery stick, Tendou knows this.

And Tendou can't just let his poor buddy to suffer like that now, can he?

The two of them have a long talk and come to a mutual agreement to share you amongst themselves. It is hectic and messy at first, but they will make it work. Both of them are set up with success and not many will dare to challenge them. Not with Tendou's monstrous reputation and Ushiwaka's imposing person.

I'd rate them a 6/10 on the danger scale. There's potential there for a higher score but since no one in their right mind will come close to you, all should be well. Unfortunately for you though, there are two obsessed fools joined to you by the hip and are not leaving any time soon.

˗ˏˋ꒰ 🍒 ꒱ 𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐘𝐀 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐊𝐀 - these two are like two peas in a pod, it's only natural that they get to share you!!! Both of them are attracted to you like magnets and have the mentality of "sharing is caring, but only with you because you're my best buddy!"

They are intense and there is no other word to describe it better. Neither one is shy about their affections towards you and are not against throwing hands if someone starts getting a little too chummy with you (which is, almost anyone really...) and their presence is beyond suffocating.

A solid 7/10 on the danger scale simply because you won't have anymore room to breathe.

˗ˏˋ꒰ 🍒 ꒱ This one is a bit of a shot in the dark and it has the potential to end up quite messily unless things are set straight from the get go. And who would that be?

Why, it is our beloved 𝐈𝐖𝐀𝐈𝐙𝐔𝐌𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐈𝐊𝐀𝐖𝐀 - my my, what a predicament!

Oikawa is too clingy for his own good which, in turn, makes Iwa so mad that he could punch him. The way in which he's always slobbering all over you makes his blood boil but he would rather nail his tongue on a wall than ever admit that fact out loud.

Oikawa knows better though. He knows damn well that his dear friend is fantasizing about not only brutally murdering him but about you too, and how could he not? The way you cheer them both on when they're playing would make anyone swoon but your overall attitude is just so attractive to them both that they can't help but to fall for you.

Iwaizumi is more subtle with you than Oikawa, promptly focusing on whether or not you've eaten. You haven't? Here, have his lunch. No, he's not hungry, be quiet. Here, take his jacket. If you catch a cold he will scold you.

Oikawa on the other hand is a shameless little bastard because, why shouldn't he be? He absolutely revels in your reactions but is always careful to never cross any lines which could land him in hot water. He's just a naturally touchy guy, it's not weird how often he holds you.

Although, it is a little strange how all of your guy friends started to avoid you once you befriended the pair.

On a scale, I'd give them a 9/10. Yes, it's that bad. The combination of Iwaizumi's brash attitude and Oikawa's calculative nature and charm there is literally no one they won't stomp over if they cross you, or them for that matter.

There is also the added danger of them being both naturally jealous individuals, which clashes badly on quite a few occasions. Both of them want to keep you and can't come up with a proper solution sometimes which leads to the air becoming much heavier than it ought to.

🍑 If you could make a connection between your favorite character and another work you care about (whether a crossover/fusion or a wonderfully “pretentious” literary reference) what would it be? How would it work?

So (these are nonsensical spoilers for u pin, don’t worry) Lion Ushiromiya was canonically captain of their high school badminton team, so. If Umineko takes place in 1986 then in the Haikyuu era 2020s Lion would be in their like, 60s or something. They’re the older, slightly grizzled coach of the girls’ badminton team at, oh, let’s say itachiyama. And who took up badminton in my niche sakusa/akaashi-in-Oxford fic? It’s sakusa. Lion passes the torch to him to be the new itachiyama badminton coach, or something. And thus I connect my two special interest blorbos…

(This is actually a Real Fic I have planned out in my head… one of Oikawa’s twin daughters (Kaori) goes away to school in Tokyo Skip and Loafer style and Sakusa is the Nao-chan figure. It’s a whole thing.)

🍒 What’s your favorite character dynamic to write? (Can be romantic or platonic, specific or general!)

Isi asked me this one too! I’m also gonna answer her 🍇 ask here.

My favorite character dynamic is something to the effect of “non-romance romance” or something I misleadingly (?) call “unusual romance”. This can look like a lot of different things! A lot of times it’ll be explicitly about aroace feelings (see: the sakusa/akaashi fic mentioned above) but not always. I just love when there are hard-to-categorize important relationships in things (sugimoto & asirpa, shima & mitsumi, I’d even call hinata & kageyama this) and I just like to bring that energy to almost any fic I write.

How about 🍇, but with an alternative version if you want: are there any themes or types of scenes/stories that you want to write/can’t stop writing a million different versions of?

Elaborating on the above:

A lot of times “unusual romances” take this specific shape of like… the idea of characters who have resigned themselves to this level of quiet disappointment with their romantic lives. They feel that they aren’t built for this idea of happily ever after romance, and that’s just who they are and what their life is meant to be, and that’s okay.

But maybe then they discover something about themselves, or find a connection with another person, and they actually do find a lot of meaning in it and it does fit with who they are as a person but it is also like… something they thought they might not ever have! But it’s also different than what they’d imagined, in a a way. A lot of times this isn’t even about aroace stuff, it’s just like… finding this sort of magic in your life that you’d given up on.

This is what almost every one of my fics is about at the core, honestly!! I write it over and over and over. Tapestry Hinata (and lowkey like, the whole tapestry polycule), my recent sakusa/kuroo, that oxford fic I can’t seem to shut up about in these answers, my ushioi, a planned ushisaku thing I’m going to write… idk this theme is just the gift that keeps on giving, to me.

Oikawa could not take his eyes off you, all dolled up in the satin dress that fit all your curves perfectly. You looked absolutely stunning. Currently, both of you were at his teammate’s birthday party in a club downtown. The party had been going on for about an hour. Both of you had a fantastic time being there.

Oikawa had to excuse himself while chatting with you at the booth. While he was gone, a brunette lady slid over the seat that was Oikawa’s before he left. You furrowed your eyebrows, trying to remember this woman. You had never seen her before.

The brunette smiled. “Hey, I’m Juliette,” she introduced herself without being asked. You never once heard the name Juliette before. Maybe she’s one of Oikawa’s new acquaintances that you didn’t know about. But she is so beautiful that it makes you kinda jealous if she’s close to Tooru.

You cleared your throat, accepting her handshake offer. “Nice to meet you, Juliette.” There was a pause before Juliette started speaking her mind.

“Tooru and I are best friends if you did not know. Both of us always hang out on the weekends,” she trailed off. Your eyebrows furrowing together, trying to piece the puzzles. What is her intention for telling you this? You are well aware of Oikawa’s activities during the weekend, but this is new.

You started to sense something wasn’t right. Perhaps, the brunette just wanted to make you jealous. Doesn’t Juliette know that Oikawa’s married? Does she not care about chasing over someone else’s husband? You confirmed your hunch by the way she talked about Oikawa. She was gushing over him, and that almost made you punch her in the face.

Juliette stared at you in the face. Maybe she found out that you were so good at hiding your feelings, especially jealousy. Her main purpose for coming here to talk to you was to make you jealous. Maybe you’ll give up on Oikawa, so she could have him. She was totally wrong. You will not give up on him, no matter what happens.

She eventually gave up, leaving you all alone in the booth. Juliette then went on her own to find Oikawa in the crowd. When she spotted the boy, she strutted over him, and she ensured you were watching her. Juliette then talked to Oikawa, leaning over him when he wasn’t listening to what she was saying.

The close gap was making you uncomfortable in your seat. What does this woman want from you? Jealousy is an ugly feeling, in your opinion. It’s so ugly that it makes you want to throw and kick stuff around you right now. The hideous feeling started to overwhelm you when Juliette began to have her hands all over Oikawa.

Her actions made him uncomfortable, especially he’s a married man. Oikawa cleared his throat awkwardly, “No, Juliette. I have a wife, can’t you see that?” He raised his voice higher when the woman would not stop having her hands on him. Oikawa glanced over at your booth, and you were walking away.
