001 — the beginning of an era !

y/n sat down at her vanity, gently removing her makeup from the day. with her busy schedule this past week, she’s barely had any time to take care of herself. she had a lot on her mind. from interviews, dance practices, mv shootings, and more, y/n was… to put it simply — drained. she loved her group, no doubt about it, but was extremely nervous for the release of their new mini album. they all worked their asses off to make it better than their debut. y/n finished removing her makeup and put on a face mask, enjoying the cold gel refreshing her tired skin. *ding!* the girl sighed as she reached over to grab her phone.

the initial shock that painted y/n’s face didn’t leave for a good five minutes after seeing those messages. this was a serious decision… if she does decide to take it up, it would be a great experience and help to make ALUR3 more known in the kpop world. on the other hand, it piles so much more on her plate. she didn’t want to be overworked.

y/n decided to ask her members what they think.

“oh, hi hyunjin oppa.” luna greets hyunjin.

“hey, luna.” he smiles, “congratulations on the comeback.”

“thanks.”

luna had stepped away after her hair and makeup was done. she assumed it was the same for hyunjin, seeing that he stood tall in a black suit which almost perfectly matched the one y/n was wearing.

“i didn’t know you liked banana milk aswell?” hyunjin asked, raising an eyebrow.

“there’s a lot you don’t know about me yet, oppa.”

“yet?” hyunjin asked curiously. he grabbed some coins from his pocket, happy he had just enough to take the last milk from the vending machine.

“unless you don’t want to get to know me more..?”

“uh- no! … that’s not what i meant!!” hyunjin spoke rapidly, trying to make the girl understand what she meant.

“relax oppa! i was just teasing you.” luna giggled.

“cute,” hyunjin mumbled to himself. he said it quietly, yet luna still heard it.

she flushed a shade of deep red, pretending not to hear it and looking away to hide her reddened face.

the two of them stood there in silence, the only thing heard was the slurping of banana milk from their cartons.

“hey… i just wanted to thank you for the other night.”

“it was no problem, hyunjin oppa.” luna spoke barely above a whisper. she smiled but her eyes were still locked on the ground.

“maybe.. maybe we could do it again?” the boy with a ego as high as the empire state building was clearly nervous. 

“sure, but it was pretty hard to convince ari unnie to let me leave the other night. apparently y/n was looking for me.”

“right.” hyunjin played with the hair on the nape of his neck nervously, all the possible consequences flashing through his mind.

“it’s fine jin oppa, don’t worry.” luna gently pulls hyunjin’s hands down from his neck, instead putting hers on his broad shoulders. “as long as we don’t get caught, everything can continue as normal. hopefully none of our members catch on.”

if anyone were to walk by, they would have thought the pair were together. luna smiled brightly up to hyunjin, while he had a straight face. he looked slightly uncomfortable, as luna slowly moved closer.

luna pulls the boy into a hug, which he hesitantly accepted.

you had just so happened to walk around the corner, almost dropping your phone at the sight of hyunjin and luna extremely... close.

“ah. there’s y/n unnie! see you later, oppa.” luna pulls away, winking at boy.

“hey unnie! is it time for the interview?” luna asked while looping her arm with yours. all you could do was nod slowly, not being able to get the image of hyunjin and luna hugging out of your head.

since when did her mc partner and younger member get so close?

ariel had arrived at stray kids dorms, and was waiting for someone to open the door. she knocked again, thinking no one heard her the first time.

the door was opened after a few knocks, but ariel did not expect to see who she did when she opened the door.

“ariel unnie?” luna had said shocked when she opened the door.

“luna???” “what are you doing here…” the elder girl had said while stepping inside.

“i was going to ask you the same thing.” luna said as she closed the door behind her member.

“luna, i was looking for you. i had a weird feeling you would be here.”

“how did you know ari?”

“i overheard that y/n saw you and hyunjin together at the vending machine the other day. ever since then i knew you had something going on with him.”

“right… i still have to figure that out.”

“well, that’s not important right now.” “why haven’t you been answering your texts?” “we have been texting you for HOURS.” ariel said with slight annoyance. she was starting to get mad.

“my phone had died. why? did something happen??”

“yes, luna. something did happen.”

the younger girl stayed quiet, opting for staring at the floor rather than her beloved member.

“we have been trying to contact you since 6. you promised to be back by then.” ariel said while taking in a deep breath. “y/n had pushed the practice to 6:30 hoping you would be back, but you weren’t. we practiced without you. and it was like hell. manager chae was annoyed, we were tired, and you weren’t there.”

“i-i’m sorry…” luna spoke though her voice was cracking.

“are you really?” “you know how much we love you, but seriously? we waited three hours and didn’t hear a single word from you. we were all worried, eden was about to cry seeing you weren’t back.”

again, the younger girl kept her stare on the ground.

“listen… what’s in the past is in the past. please gather your stuff and wait in the car outside. i’ll come in a few minutes.”

luna muttered out a small ‘okay’ while going to get her stuff.

about five minutes later, luna was out the door, going to the car just as she was told.

ariel and lee know sat in the living room of the stray kids dorm, talking.

“so why exactly are you here again?” “not that i mind it, of course..” lee know spoke nervously.

“i was trying to find luna, i thought she would be here.”

“luna was here? i thought i heard noises from hyunjins room but i assumed it was his video games.”

“ahh yeah she was with hyunjin.” “i’m sorry about that, even i was surprised when she opened the door.”

“don’t worry about it, ari.” the boy said while smiling at her.

ari. she liked the way her nickname sounded when lee know said it. it was different from the way her members said it. it sounded… endearing.

the two leaned closer, faces nearly touching.

ari nodded her head, brushing her lips over his.

008 — sweets for a friend !

“it was so weird, eden.”

“ah- don’t worry too much about it, y/n unnie!”

“it was out of the blue though…”

“look, it’s probably nothing.” “they were most likely just having small talk before the interview.”

“i didn’t know small talk included hugs and looking like you were going kiss.”

“yeah,,, that was weird but i’m sure luna wouldn’t try anything with hyunjin since she knows you and him don’t get along.”

“you’re right. it probably was a misunderstanding and from where i was standing looked like they were about to kiss.”

“i can ask luna about it later, if you want?”

“thank you eden. you’re so grown up now.. i can still remember when we were trainees and you would always follow me around”

“ahh unnie, don’t bring that uppp” the younger girl said while pouting.

“come on, let’s go have a movie night with everyone!” the elder said while sticking her hand out so eden could pull herself up from the dance practice floor.

the pair of two girls walked thru their large dorm, only to find luna baking something in the kitchen.

“hi guys!!” luna said while smiling. she was sitting on the counter mixing ingredients in a bowl.

“whatcha’ makin?” eden said and moved to sit on the stool at the counter.

“just some tarts, ari unnie just took them out of the oven.” “wanna help me decorate?”

“of course.” y/n said while standing between eden and luna.

she loved moments like these. baking was a hobby luna picked up when they were trainees. since then, every weekend she bakes treats for them.

ariel had just gotten off the phone and came to stand near her fellow members, to help decorate the tarts.

after about thirty minutes of fooling around and filling the tarts with a variety of jams, the girls were done. y/n had suggested that they go and watch a movie while eating the sweets. eden and ari had agreed, but luna couldn’t.

“sorry guys, one of my childhood friends is in seoul for a bit and i wanted to give these sweets to them!”

“ah. that’s fine luna, just be back before 6pm, please!”

“yeah, i will. i’m only taking a few tarts, the rest are in the pan on the stove cooling down! please help yourself.” luna said while grabbing her purse and running to the door.

she opened the door, but paused and turned around to see her three members waving goodbye to her. they were all like a family.

“love you guys!” luna said while smiling and stepping out into the hallway.

manager chae had already texted luna to tell her the driver was waiting outside the starship building. she put on her mask and went to the elevator, clicking the lobby button.

after a short ride, luna had arrived at her friends place.

she took a nervous breath, and knocked three times on the grey door.

the door swung open, to reveal her friend dressed in a casual outfit.

“oh, hi luna.”

“hey, hyunjin oppa.”

“why were you kissing her in the first place, hyung?”

“and?” “i don’t see a reason to.”

“i really don’t understand what drama you have with the poor girl, she is so sweet.”

“it doesn’t matter. i’m just annoyed you were with somebody who is in that group.” hyunjin spoke, his temper rising.

“oh my god, you’re so stupid.” “i know you were with luna. ariel came here to get her. she also told me about you two at music bank before the interview.”

“no it’s not. you’re a fucking hypocrite.” “i don’t know what the hell is up with you and that group. you can’t go around getting with girls. especially not ones who are in your mc partner’s group.”

“don’t fucking tell me what to do.” hyunjin said, his voice getting louder.

as ariel and luna arrived back at alur3’s dorms, they noticed a bright bouquet of flowers at their door. curiously, luna bent down to grab them.

“look ari unnie! there’s a note.”

“i wonder who it’s from..” ariel said while grabbing the note cautiously, which was taped onto the pink wrapping around the flowers.

“they are for y/n???” ari said, slightly surprised.

the two girls walked through the door, and were met by you sitting at the counter on your phone.

you were still in the clothes from dance practice earlier.

“there you two are!” you said while running up to them, engulfing them in a big hug.

“i’m so sorry for disappearing on you guys like that. my phone was dead. i promise it will never happen again.” luna said, about to cry.

“it’s okay luna, we’re just glad you’re safe.” you had said while holding the sobbing girl.

“where’s eden?” ari asked.

“oh she just fell asleep. she was scared to sleep alone since luna wasn’t there… so she’s in your bed unnie, if that’s okay?”

“aw yeah that’s fine, i hope she’s okay.” ariel said while grabbing some snacks for the three of them.

luna gave the big bouquet of flowers to you, mumbling something along the lines of ‘someone gave these to you’ while going to her room for a bath.

you took the flowers from her hands, inhaling the strong floral scent. i wonder who these are from… you thought.

you opened the card, nervousness filling your entire body.

“oh my god.” was the only thing you could say.
