i miss preening grian's wings.

it was a task that had to be done pretty much every day because we were in the desert and all that sand kept getting in between his feathers, he tried to play it off as being fine but i always felt so bad because i made him stay in the desert, and i could tell he was uncomfortable so i always made sure to preen them every night

it was always the only time we got us time, it was the only time me and gri got to relax and speak about our day, instead of planning attacks or defending ourselves and our base, it was a small routine that stuck around until the last couple days where there wasn't much time to do so

i miss the feel of his wings, i miss the hum of his voice as he lazily spoke to me about whatever he had got up to, whilst relaxing back into my touch until i had to remind him to sit forwards so i could actually continue on with preening

i miss the way his face blushed as he realised what he was doing and how he always tried to make a lame excuse his bird brain could stumble out that i always pretended to understand

i miss when he used to fall asleep midway through and i had to pick him up and bring him to bed, and how that was pretty much the only way i could get him to sleep

i miss my grian.
