cant remember bringing this up for a while so honestly i'll never be over the reiiteration that jean himself has a bleeding heart. he is going to be both blunt and honest with whoever hes speaking to, but in a way that he hopes will come to help them understand the situation but also does it so whoever he's speaking with actually understands the full situation and what that may entail despite the gruesome outcome.

#out of.#i know so many people respect erwins RTS speech bc its so important but #his honesty to the corps completely parallels what 15 year old jean was saying to the scouts in trost arc and that is. IMPORTANT TO ME #rusty honesty is the most lore accurate name for his theme bc jean is. at his very core. AWFUL at this when he starts off #esp as a scout bc ... so much of it gets held back. just not enough for marco to not see it :pray:#his first proper scout interaction with eren is something i always write as a big regret for him but i also think its good to say he was a #fifteen year old who was suddenly becoming his own and a lot of peoples therapists.#he gets so much better with all this. he GROWS #i was talking abt this with angel a second ago but it's just part of the reiner and jean parallel that makes me enjoy writing them the most #reiner originally was this massive older brother figure role following all he had learnt from marcel. but peoples trust in him snapped so #easily when the reveal took place and he then spent the rest of the series trying to gain it back #( the only character who really seemed to forgive him the most being jean )#whereas jean was the character everyone loved to be mad at / tease / not get too close to #into becoming someone the majority of the scouts trusted the most #one day i will write my meta explaining all these diff characters jean mirrors but ... i shall leave you with this for now

#ash rambles 💚#I'm the kind of person thats super particular about my self inserts #i need them to be lore accurate and have super fleshed out backstories. i aspire to create the characters i want to see in media #and they will always be their own characters before they are me #that being said. i have such a hard time making an s/i when there's no wiggle room #this new guy I'm crushing on.. the story is so fast paced #and he's really in love with another girl #i love him and all that. but it feels like there's no room for me. that just pisses me off! ugh!#i feel the same way about k.ili too though not to such a great extent #idk man. i just hate when this kind of thing doesnt work right #writing my inserts is my greatest passion and i truly am proud of some of my lore #I'll always care for them as characters more than as a vessel for me to kiss pretty characters and i know all my friends can agree that 90%#of what I've sent them is writing about my s/is and not my f/os LMAAAOOO #but yeah. it's so hard for me to figure out where my self insert goes in this movie #also um. i dont want to have an s/i just be a useless side character that just stands there. i know this might sound silly but #as a brown woman who didnt grow up with much representation and to this fucking day has not seen a single punjabi woman in the media i grew #up watching.. i dont want my characters to be useless #ugh sorry I'm rambling sorry for being so negative #anyhow. oh yeah saw blue beetle last night and one million thumbs up. going into having heard it’s very tokusatsu and comic booky made it one million times better. goofy and stupid in fun ways. i’m so glad we’ve looped back around to comic book movies being like comic books: confusing chronologically and catered to fans willing to put up with wildly specific nonsense. also heck of a great job making a movie about gentrification and colonization out of the chaos of blue beetle lore and corporate blandification i genuinely had fun

#like it’s not the BEST done story about gentrification and colonization. but it’s a very interesting attempt at doing one in the dc universe #also ADORED how they did ted’s old tech i love love love that it was chronologically accurate and cheesy in the best way #of COURSE his tech is outdated he was a superhero TWENTY-THIRTY YEARS AGO!!#when mcu stuff went back in time they just retconned it to be cool futuristic sci-fi stuff too. i ADORE the idea that a) there WERE #superheroes in the last and b) time still passes! them being there shaped the world and influences the superheroes we have now!!#and SO glad to see DC finally capitalizing on their legacy heroes <- the one thing that stands them out from marvel #yeah this was a mediocre movie to the average fan. i think comic book movies should be. fuck blockbuster everyone movies #cbms should be wildly specific and about characters no one’s ever heard of to tell fun stories with them #also love the minimal level of integration with the rest of the dc movie verse #jaime went to gotham university and there was that one name drop of bruce wayne in an ad but SO happy no obnoxious cameos.#this is just another corner of the universe! it’s a coherent WORLD but that doesn’t mean the same individuals need to show up everywhere.#loved it. i know it’s not a great movie but i had so much fun from the moment i saw the intro talking about actual lore #it was 100x improved by what i already knew about jaime reyes and i know that’s a bad thing for non-aware viewers but fuck it. stop catering #to the audience that refuses to read comic books or put up with their tropes. cater to the people who are already here and love it #thank youuuuuuuuuuuu <3 also give people from the cultures superheroes represent more money to tell those superheroes stories . it’s great

I am definitely not replaying Caradoc any time soon (definitely) but also today I gave up and made his parents in the character creator.

Oh the wiki is like the worst thing to go to its run by like 2 fans and not at all up to date and one of the least reliable ways to learn anything as a result of it not being official (also like no shade but I don't think they're even two fans/viewers who are super active or know the lore and everything all that well anyway)

There's very little official ksmp stuff to go to, the carrd hasn't been updated in a while and the lore recap was also kind of iffy especially when improv changes a lot of things about past lore as well sometimes

The best way to learn more sometimes honestly if you can't watch everything is if you can catch Jack's streams at any point ASK HIM THINGS IN CHAT he doesnt always respond to everything cause he doesnt always see everything but he is happy to answer things, if there's anything specific you wanna know I can also try to help ofc (the way I work is I can explain things when prompted specifically but just spilling Everything I'm not good at doing)

#Looking in the community discord lore discussion doesnt rly help much #You can ask in there but dont expect super good or accurate answers all the time LMFAO #I'm so biased against the discord im not really sorry #Because they try to connect dots that dont go together too much and they just go on about like #Clown this Branzy that. Her catchphrase is "Daiuchuu~" which Leo shortened to "Uchuu~", as in the story "Opera" Leo says his catchprase was meant to be "Daiuchuu~" but he shortened it.

Also it's implied he met her while he was in depresso shut-in mode during his second year and travelling the world, iirc!
