What's the creative processes behind your art? been listening since 2015 I've seen the evolution, what was the push toward darker beats?

I’ve always done dark beats. If you listen to the production on Dior Junts you would know.

Milk/Dream Bwoy was a concept album of light and dark. That’s why shit like Enzo and ain’t on shit is on dream Bwoy.

I liked DB but it felt rushed so I started to experiment more down that lane and now we here. Flacko inspire me 2 go more inna Memphis style lane on top of the no limit/cash money vibe I already mesh in my beats.

CONFESSIONS OF A DANCER ‘THE MOSIAH SOLO’ by Alaine Grant

This was written on Thursday night, September 7, 1988 after a particularly good rehearsal. I was so wound up and couldn’t sleep and decided to listen to the music for the Mosiah solo “one more time”.

At first I was just going to write something to think about while waiting in the wings for the gunshots. Once I started, however, the first part flowed as I thought about the movement sequence; and some of what I wrote suggested gestures I could try.

The funny thing is I never used it again while I was still struggling to put it all together – sequence, music, attack, but  I think the act of writing helped somehow to provide more than just motivation.

WAITING IN THE WINGS: Johnny is out there. How could dis be ‘appenin? Who gwine ‘elp me now wid de odder children? Lawd, please, please, do Lawd….

💥 Have a crate of beef patty and coco bread? Half of that is for him now. Some spice bun and cheese? Break that like five loaves and two fishes. Because everything’s being shared now.

💥 You’re not allowed to go to ANY party/dance/fete etc. without him because you act all the way up.

💥Shenseea comes on? He gives you one look and presses you against his front.

💥 Doesn’t stop you for whining and grinding but you ain’t going on your headtop around him. You start to go on your knees, head pressing against the ground; he snatches you before you could balance on your neck and stands you straight up.

🧊 You flirt with him in patois and sometimes he’ll try to decipher what you’re saying.

🧊 His sad, puppy dog eyes had you rushing to console him, telling him it was just a regular saying and that Jamaicans just love homecooked meals.

🧊Speaking of food. He’s never going to touch cold soba again after having some pigtail with rice and peas, gravy touching every inch of the dish.

🧊He’ll sit at the kitchen, tapping his foot, very happy about whatever you’re making.

🧊 He’s observant too and will bring any and everything to shorten the time it takes for the food to get on his plate.

🧊He’ll be on your back as you’re cheffing it up, reggae music blasting through the area.

🔮 After you and Shinso became a couple, group smoke sessions were never the same.
