No idea what the ettiquette is for things like this but I adore your brain esp with Sherlock and Mycroft. pLEASE share any of your thoughts/hopes/expectations for s&c Mycroft (and his + Sherlock’s dynamic) 🙏
I swearrrr all of yous in the Sh&Co fandom are so sweet!! 🥹
As for my thoughts/hopes/expectations, It usually comes up randomly in my head but I would say...
Tumblr media
Thoughts:
Mycroft hasn't been mentioned (except by the writer's that there isn't a voice actor for him yet) and this fits in with the surprise John and the audience will get when he is introduced. I'm excited for that but tbh I don't have any other thoughts, when he does appear DW I'll tag you in my post of thoughts :))
My hopes/expectations is that:
Mycroft is not slim. LISTENNNN LISTENNNN OKAYY, often hes portrayed as slim due to medical/mental issues which I still love btw (the approach to his character with these are some of the most powerful fics I have ever read) I just want a Mycroft that is a big boy and I hope he is.
Mycroft doesn't worry about Sherlock that often due to seeing him online with John now, he also follows the podcast, twitter account and is definitely on their patreon. That's why we haven't heard of him so far because there's no need for him to contact Sherlock. He's going to make a comment about the podcast and the detective career when he's introduced though.
Lestrade and Mycroft actually keep in touch quite often- not just due to Sherlock but cause of Lestrade being the DI and Mycroft being the government would mean they would cross paths more often than not. Especially true in hostage negotiations and/or terrorists attacks!! Lestrade would have to be present as it's all hands on deck and Mycroft may just be needed for 'cleanup' afterwards. They both could be introduced at the same time or within episode of each other. If not, they will know each other soon!!
Mycroft and Sherlock will do their iconic back and forth deduction but with both Mariana and John present. 👀
Mycroft doesn't drink alcohol nor consumes anything that wasn't made then tested - can't risk being intoxicated or poisoned when he could be called up at any moment, there's no time for resting. He does throw caution to the wind when he eats at Sherlock's though, hoping for a scene where they are having dinner together.
John will have direct contact with Mycroft just like Lestrade after they meet, this allows Mycroft to be a reoccurring character (FINGERS CROSSED MY GUYS!).
Mycroft is going to have a one on one conversation with John off the record about the case of The Greek Interpreter and John will definitely record it and then later plans to delete/censor it but Sherlock says not to and just publish it raw because why not. It be funny lol.
Further head-canons (some are also hoped or expected) because now I'm lost in the sauce and can't stop:
Mycroft has never worried about himself too much outside of work reasons, he was too busy taking care of Sherlock + the estate and handling incompetent politicians and global political leaders to ever care.
Sherlock was and is a danger to everything alive or objects - including himself!! This especially when he was a child doing any sort of experiment because often touch and tasting is the first thing done, so Mycroft aged like 20 years when Sherlock was a child in his 'i must grab and put this foreign thing in my mouth' phase. One time he wanted to touch and taste the insides of his bee plushie - it was just cotton tho (and a heart attack for Mycroft).
He is the reason Sherlock has expensive tastes and was unable to lean him off it due to having the exact palette as well. He's the reason Sherlock is spoiled about his groceries but don't say that to Mycroft because he did his best...not really but he likes his branded sweets okay.
Mycroft (as he is a big boy) needed suits that were custom made for him and up to his impeccable standards so he got them commissioned and had the designer he found to also create sensory friendly clothing for Sherlock. 🥹
Mycroft likes John Watson and Mariana a lot, they both love his brother and that's the only thing he could ask for.
Mycroft is a tank!! He is more than capable of neutralising someone if needed - whether hand to hand or by weapon/s - but just like how he isn't a detective, he isn't his own bodyguard nor hitman because he's lazy and that's why you have employees.
Mycroft thought that Sherlock and John are more than friends but gets even more confused when Mariana is there? Then decides it's none of his business really, he needs to focus on easing tensions between the King and the Prime Minister.
Mycroft and Sherlock not only had deduce-offs but also regularly fought one on one hand to hand combat for fun. Mycroft was scared asf tho when Sherlock started to have intense interests in swords, no thank you.
Mycroft unlike his behaviour at work being that of an ice man whose looks could kill, is awkward and shy when it comes to Sherlock. There's not much to talk about when you're siblings whose work requires the utmost confidentiality, can easily deduce what the other did and with one's work famously being published and the other's influence clear in every political news!!
Now that's all I have, I'm sure my brain will come up with some more stuff later on and i'll be sure to tag you in them from now on!!

Hi I love your blog 💕I would like to request plz and thank you Yanderes brahms heelshire, Norman bates and patrick bateman ( separately) with dense s/o that friendzone them PS: The s/o is madly in love with Stu 👀⚠️✌️
sure thing! i got reminded to get this done by the end of this week when walking on sunshine came on the radio on my way to class lol.
since you mentioned something about friendzoning and such, i wrote in a way where it could be interpreted that reader is more of a future S/O than something established if that’s alright!
and listen as much as we love these guys...stu would by far be the one of the easier ones to have a relationship with lol. well, not easy, but easier than this.
headcanons - Norman Bates, Brahms Heelshire, & Patrick Bateman with a dense (future) S/O (GN reader) aka the gaslight gatekeep girlboss special 🍽️
contains: *takes a deep breath* implied notsfw, unhealthy relationship dynamics/toxic behavior (gaslighting, possessiveness, etc.), reader is a captive in Brahms’ section, heavy hints of kidnapping/stalking in Patrick’s section
Norman Bates 🔪
☆ Despite being intense at times, Norman doesn’t mind the fact that you’re a bit oblivious. It does dishearten him when you don’t seem to recognize his little murmuring compliments and how prone he is to flash smiles at you as a sign that he’s smitten, but he’s also fairly amicable when he isn’t stuck in a dark recess of his mind. ☆ In all honesty, he would most likely be the nicest about you feigning ignorance, even when it’s for things like this. He has patience, and if you stick around and make him feel like he has time to get you to warm up to him, he doesn’t mind playing the long game. In a way, it makes the first time you finally pick up on his cues all the more special. ☆ ...However, it’s when other people get involved that his disposition might change. I don’t take Norman as overtly jealous, but when someone comes in and makes you laugh a little too hard or takes your eyes off of him a little too much, he goes cold. It feels like someone is trying to disrupt a thing in his life that he’s in no way ready to let go of. ☆ Suddenly, he’s much more upfront with you. Touching your back/hand while speaking, more alive in the way he speaks. He’s also turning a strange fire over towards the other person, quick to criticize them over little details and things they say, or starts suggesting they’re implying things that they aren’t in an attempt and make you shy away from them. If they’re sticking around, maybe staying at the motel for the evening, Norman or even Mother will take care of them then give their S/O a taste of their own medicine by acting like he has no idea what happened. So long as it keeps you by his side, even if you still don’t see how far he’d go for you.
Brahms Heelshire 🎭
☆ Before he revealed himself to you, your oblivious nature was actually appreciated. You blame noises on nothing, rarely see him should he sneak around in the open... It’s a dream for him to watch from a distance, and you’ve very well piqued his curiosity. ☆ After you get acquainted with the real Brahms, though, this is no longer a bonus. One moment, you’re thinking that the two of you are simply bantering back and forth, and the next Brahms is tense and insisting that what he’s said isn’t a joke. You’re lost on what the implications are, staring blankly as your brain shuffles through what you may have missed, and all the while he thinks it’s an attempt to string him along that’s going too far. ☆ He’s no stranger for making his advances more obvious if you’re a little slow to catch on, but he’s also not going to take anything he might perceive as rejection. If you let his comments roll off of you, he’ll keep on talking. If you look away from him, he’ll be in your face. He’d often hang over your head that he chose you for a reason, so you better start acting the part. Those are the rules. ☆ If you still aren’t getting what this nanny job entails, that’s fine. It’s not like the Manor gives you a chance to hide from it. If you try to run, he’ll be on you in a heartbeat, pushing you against the nearest wall with a hand over your mouth as he tells you just what he wants you to do for him since you can’t quite understand... And he’ll also let you know what he’ll do for you, his grip tightening on your shirt as he looks you up in down. If only you’d just let him.
Patrick Bateman 💼
☆ We had fun talking about how nice Norman would be. Now let’s talk about how not nice Patrick would be. ☆ He’s going to be the most direct if he feels you aren’t "getting” him or what he’s saying. My interpretation of what we saw in the movie is that half the time his dialogue mixes in with his internal thoughts, which is why sometimes people don’t catch some of the morbidities that come out of his mouth. If someone holds his interest, he wants them to understand these morbidities -- at least to a certain degree. ☆ If you deny his attempts to persuade you into whatever he might want, whether it’s a stop at his apartment or to accompany him to one of the many pretentious and “hot” places in town, he’s going to think you’re snubbing him and will proceed to snap like a twig. It makes it worse if he sees you often, meaning he has many tries to get something through and you feign from understanding every time. He’s always on the brink, but someone not playing these games in life in the exact way that he prefers them to is a sure way to get him over the edge. ☆ Him and Brahms both prefer a partner who “plays by the rules” -- but that never applies to themselves, of course. If the mask is going to slip, it’s going to be for you. He’s going to have you under his thumb sooner rather than later, and he doesn’t care how it happens. If anyone even hints kindness in your direction, he’s taking his urges out on them while on his way to you. You’re going to feel those deep brown eyes, void of any light or genuine affection, on the back of your neck. Even someone hazy with a dense state of mind could sense it. ☆ He might resort to following you home and showing you just how much he wants to be around you. “You really shouldn’t take this so lightly. I rarely let my business take me to this part of town.”

Analysis of klaviers need for control, esp as a point of similarity to big bro, sounds like 👀 a very interesting 👀 essay hehe
you're all essay-enablers--and i will absolutely take any excuse to overanalyze. this is so incredibly long and i am so sorry.
Okay! So! We're going to go for the comparison here as a primary point of focus because I feel that it's the best way to highlight everything I want to touch on. Klavier and Kristoph are both incredibly meticulous about maintaining control over the way they're perceived by others and also over the scenarios they find themselves in. With Klavier, you see this in his presentation of what's often termed the "rockstar facade"--the affected German (apologies to those who headcanon that it's genuine--with character analysis I am sticking with the canonical 'it's fake' interpretation), the excessive Gavinners branding, the overt flirtatiousness. He wants attention from the media and individuals alike, and ends up concealing his more serious attitude towards the law and justice behind this image.
Kristoph, on the other hand, is the picture of friendly professionalism--the "Coolest Defense In The West" persona. This is mainly observed towards the beginning of Turnabout Trump, as it's what lures the player into a false sense of security before his true nature is revealed. His outward appearance is neat and tidy; he's got minimalist, professional glasses paired with one of the more subdued suits worn in the series. He's prone to smiling, joking, projecting this benign, refined image--though even while he's doing this, he has a tendency to make cutting remarks (observed primarily directed at Apollo at the start of the case: "That screeching noise...is that your voice?" (4-1)) which increase in frequency as his grasp on the situation slips. Kristoph Gavin wants a different kind of attention than his brother--he wants to be seen as the ultimate legal figure; a top defense attorney; a man to whom 'defeat' in court is a foreign concept.
It's somewhat ironic, actually, that Kristoph Gavin is a defense attorney: usually it's the Ace Attorney prosecutors who are hung up on having perfect records. Taken in the wider scheme of AA4's theme of subverting expectations, however, this makes perfect sense.
Maintaining these images is something that takes a great deal of control over both oneself and one's situation. Klavier, of course, has his band and the nebulous concept of "fame"--he leans much more into the rockstar elements as something he can control than he does the prosecutorial elements (which, we might theorize, would be due to his first trial (where he thought he had all the information and full control over the situation) going sideways when Phoenix Wright's reaction to being caught with forged evidence wasn't that of a man who knew about the forged evidence), but that isn't to say he doesn't exert control over both. Klavier is well-informed about the circumstances of all of the cases he prosecutes--indeed, in Turnabout Corner, he actually provides evidence about the fact that vehicles with blocked exhaust pipes won't run, despite this being of absolutely no benefit to his case (and in fact being detrimental, allowing Apollo to come up with more theories that prolong the trial). In Turnabout Serenade, he has access to the most up-to-date evidence that actually contradicts a lot of Ema Skye's testimony--something that he only reveals after she's already presented her forensic findings to the court (possibly in a bid to maintain the arrogant rockstar persona, possibly because they don't really get along well, possibly a bit of both).
When Klavier gets thrown for a loop, such as after the disastrous concert in Turnabout Serenade, he falls back on trying to wrest control of the situation to maintain his image--so when the list of things that have gone wrong are 1) missing keys, 2) broken guitar case, 3) burnt guitar, 4) murder, and 5) missed cue during a song, the only thing that can be immediately addressed and brought back under control is the case of the missed cue. He's got the recording, he can analyze the mic inputs, and then there's one less thing that's throwing a wrench in his ability to be the put-together multi-platinum rockstar that he wants to be seen as. The keys aren't likely to be found without a significant amount of effort, the guitar case and guitar require consultation with someone else to fix, and the dead body at least isn't going anywhere (...or so one would assume).
We can contrast this with Kristoph's reaction to things very much not going his way--though Kristoph has significantly more high-stakes things go wrong, as well as much more of a major need to maintain control over not just situations, but people. It's not a stretch to say that everything in AA4 actually spiraled from Kristoph Gavin's attempt to exert control over Klavier Gavin by ensuring his own victory over him in Klavier's court debut. Kristoph's first disrupted plan, then, was when Zak Gramarye decided to replace him with Phoenix Wright, and he adapted by manipulating the situation so that Klavier would get Wright disbarred for presenting forged evidence. This actually would take care of two situations at once--if Kristoph wanted to be perceived as a star defense attorney, one would imagine Phoenix Wright would pose a threat (especially when he just "stole" Kristoph's client), and it would still cement Kristoph as a trusted source of information in Klavier's mind.
(some of this is bordering on conjecture, but it's not like any of this got expanded upon after AA4 soooo....)
Another example of Kristoph losing control of a situation and taking action to regain that control is the situation in the Borscht Bowl Club--he's got Wright right where he wants him (disbarred and depressed), but everything goes sideways when he recognizes Shadi Enigmar--Zak Gramarye--walking through the door to meet with Wright. I'm not going to pretend that we know exactly why Kristoph killed him (that is, of course, the Major Cliffhanger of the black Psyche-Locks), but I'd hazard a guess that at least part of it was that the most immediate solution to stopping the situation from getting any further out of hand (and destroying Kristoph's 'perfect defense attorney' image, because of course Gramarye would know that he was the only one who could have commissioned the forged diary page) would be to kill Gramarye and frame Phoenix. (Killing Phoenix Wright would have been sloppy--too many people to miss him, and he didn't (as far as Kristoph knew) have enough information to be credible on his own. Zak Gramarye/Shadi Enigmar, on the other hand, had been off the grid for seven years--and was more immediately dangerous).
Ultimately, both Gavin brothers carefully curate their images and are aware of this--they attempt to exercise control over their environments to maintain the persona they desire. However, Kristoph takes this to extremes, directing his controlling urges towards having power over individuals rather than just situations or his own demeanor. They share a desire to be respected and/or admired, though they want this from different audiences. However, where they differ is especially apparent with their attitudes in court--while Kristoph wants a perfect record, Klavier truly just wants to find the actual resolution.
...anyway, I think they're absolutely fascinating as characters and i wish we'd gotten more content following up on everything presented in aa4. I hope this was interesting to read!! and also that it actually makes sense and doesn't get too rambley--it is significantly later than I had intended to stay awake, lmao.
Thank you for the ask and the opportunity to break this down in informal essay format!
