Aikatsu Stars is cool but I have the hubris of a god and I think I can do better so I decided to rewrite everything about it lmao (this is for you @arabella-pink)
Tumblr media
Season 1
Main characters are Yume, Koharu, Rola, Mahiru, Ako, and Haruka Ruka (I can’t help it her wide eyes and cute character design has captured me)
Pre-Season 1 Yume is someone who had a decent amount of fame as a child star and lost it (idk how I came up with all this a week ago and forgot) and now is doing everything she can to regain popularity again
Yume and Koharu are still childhood friends they are a package deal and you cannot and will not separate them
Four Star Academy is a highly prestigious idol academy that’s super duper competitive- especially considering that you have to be the best of the best to be in S4
Speaking of S4, in Season 1, S4 only consists of Yozora, Tsubasa, and Yuzu
Before the school year in Season 1 started, Hime completely disappeared from the spotlight due to the pressure she has felt as the top idol (she’s the most favorited out of S4, every brand she promotes sells out in seconds, she is bigger than life itself, think of her as the Taylor Swift (popularity wise) of Aikatsu)
Yozora, Tsubasa, and Yuzu are the only ones who know where she is, but refuse to disclose, to the point that Moroboshi almost disbands S4 because of it
We find out where Hime is like,,, end of S1- beginning of S2 (Hime plays a bigger role in S2)
Erasing the whole dress-make system that Aikatsu had because I am sick of idol designers I want regular designers back please
For a while, Yume had left her old star life before seeing S4 performs (and being hit with the classic Aikatsu moment™ where she realizes that this is what she wants)
The only problem is… Yume’s not very talented in the idol field… she struggles with dancing and singing and practically has two left feet
So imagine everyone’s surprise (including Yume) when she absolutely kills her debut performance (this is where the magic rainbow power comes in)
The rainbow power is one of Aikatsu Stars’ biggest mysteries because??? What are you??? Where did you come from?? WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS AND WHY DO YOU TARGET RANDOM IDOLS??
In the rewrite, the rainbow power is something that is a “gift” from the Aikatsu System (which idk I might make another post about with my ideas) in which it amplifies abilities of idols: gives them the most beautiful voices and powerful auras to the point it overrides any other auras nearby; however, it does have its cons: it causes the idol to lose their voice (like in canon), become more fragile, and forget their memories the more they use the power
Anyways, Yume’s feeling great and then the partner performance thing comes and she’s paired with Rola and does absolutely horrendous
Even then, her confidence is still high because she proclaims Rola as her rival (who agrees but doesn’t really take it seriously)
Oh, I forgot to mention, Rola and Mahiru are prodigies from really rich families (*gasp* nepotism…) and have been child stars- they’re also rivals who are constantly at each other’s throats
Rola doesn’t really think Yume’s a threat so most of the time she’s quite dismissive of Yume, but Mahiru respects Yume a lot after her debut performance
Mahiru and Rola had planned to be in Flower Song Class together (and whoever won the selection would win their “little” rivalry) but Mahiru switches classes after seeing Yume’s performance (who has made it very clear that she’s going to go to Flower Song Class)
Also Flower Song Class has a reputation of pushing out the biggest top idols of their age (ex. Hotaru Yukino, Hime) and is a highly competitive class
Anyways, Yume and Rola make it to Flower Song (Yume’s power activates again), Mahiru and Koharu are in Moon Beauty, Ako is in Bird Theater, and Haruka Ruka is in Wind Dance
Rola and Mahiru have a big fight about how Mahiru is a coward and is backing out of their rivalry, blah blah blah some sapphic fighting idk guys they just have a big fight
Also Ako and Haruka Ruka are friends as well
Ako became an idol similar to canon,, she liked a member of M4 and wanted to get close to him (except its Kanata she likes and not Subaru because I like Kanata more)
She basically calculates and plans to trick him into liking her lmao (except it turns out Kanata knew the whole time and liked her for her true self)
Guys I swear I’ll come up with more stuff for Ako and Haruka Ruka I WILL I PROMISE IT'S BEEN A BUSY WEEK
I may pull a Bandai and abandon M4 because I do not know how they could impact the plot they’re just,,, standing there and looking pretty (I only have stupid headcanons)
Back to Yume, she finds out more about her power somehow and instead of trying to get rid of it,,, she uses it more to her advantage
Girl is DEAD set on being famous- she finds out a way to use the power frequently, which sets her at the top of her class and actually makes her popular with the general public (she probably got an album out i dunno)
She’s been warned by Moroboshi, who has seen how this power has hurt his own sister. But won’t stop, she can’t stop, because she’s climbing up and up. She’s made a name for herself, she’s made new friends… and she’s losing them even quicker than she made them
She can’t remember much about herself anymore: what songs she hums when she can’t sleep, the food her mother used to make for her when she was upset, the games that Koharu and Yume used to play when they were little. But it’s fine, it's perfectly fine because Yume is famous now. She has everything she wants.
Yume’s been thriving in Four Star’s competitive environment. Koharu, on the other hand… hasn’t been doing the best. Koharu has always been more of a designer than an idol, and she’s always behind everyone else. She doesn’t have many friends outside of Yume, and even Yume has been too busy to hang out with Koharu. The pressure and stress is too much, and she decides to leave Four Star Academy to be better. (*Episode 30 flashbacks*) Yume comes back to their dorm with all of Koharu’s things gone, and only some candy and a note left for Yume. It’s only then that Yume realizes all that she’s lost, that in the search for fame, she’s lost who she was, her friends, her family, everything, just to get her name to the top.
Yume struggles a lot with fame, where she barely gets an ounce of privacy, and the pressure is crumbling her (along with the guilt that this isn’t her, it’s the magic power). She’s been used by many people, who use her name to be more famous, and then immediately leave her.
Yume realizes why Hime left. Hime had a midas touch, everything she would touch would turn gold. However, what good is a midas touch if all you wanted was to wear silver jewelry? And Yume thinks of how lucky Hime is, to have taken her dignity and left the idol world.
A big part of Yume’s arc is how she isn’t idol-worthy. She doesn’t really have the star quality in her. Everyone around her is naturally talented and good at everything and Yume… isn’t. Everyone is sort of the chosen one… except Yume. Yume is a person who knows she isn’t special, but makes herself special. There will always be queens and princesses, but what about the girls without magic in their blood? They have to hold their heads high, as if they are the ones who are adorned with crowns (that’s a Six of Crows reference I love Six of Crows)
I also had an idea where Yume actually stole the magic power from someone but I also have NO idea how she would do that… guys this is still a work in progress and I’m sorry its so messy its so late and I didn’t get much sleep
Additional ideas I had that I didn’t know where to put
Koharu is basically a personification of Yume’s childhood and everything that makes Yume… well Yume, so her disappearing is just symbolism for how Yume has lost herself and her childhood
Mahiru and Rola are gay and they like each other in the rewrite because I think their dynamic is cool (they’re also lacy by Olivia Rodrigo coded you guys should listen)
FSA still puts an emphasis on individuality so students are encouraged to customize their uniforms as well as their school coords (so their Star Coords all have different silhouettes)
Hime is sort of someone who “haunts” the narrative in Season 1
Ako gets her own brand (that isn’t FuwaFuwa Dream nor Shiny Smile but a secret third thing (I don’t know yet))
Haruka Ruka may have a Pop Brand with a decora concept called “DECO●LOUR MY WORLD” but I don’t know yet
Koharu is also a cute type idol
Anyways the Season 2 post (if I ever make one we’ll see) will have Hime getting an SPR and Yume NOT getting an SPR but she gets Koharu back so I think that’s a fair trade
Also some songs for the rewrite would be The Lucky One (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift, making the bed by Olivia Rodrigo, You’re On Your Own Kid by Taylor Swift, and Castle’s Crumbling (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault) by Taylor Swift

I made a bunch of OC kids. Below the cut
Kurama’s kids!
Tumblr media
Momoka. Kurama’s oldest daughter who is kinda gyaru. She’s a sweet and smart girl who otherwise kinda fits the stereotypes. She mostly embraces her human heritage, but she’s not ashamed of her demon side either. She just loves human fashion and being cute. She can allow her fox ears to show and she often does it to accessorize. Her mother is Maya.
Tumblr media
Mikan. Momoka’s twin sister. Much more of a tomboy than her sister. She’s adventurous and loves photography. She embraces her demon heritage more than Momoka the moment she discovers it. She photographs the sights of Demon World. Her ears are always showing to prove her heritage.
Tumblr media
Sumire is a potential child for Yusuke and Kurama, born with assistance from the same technology that created Shura, but combining their genetics. As a kitsune, he is of the Spirit type, with powers to bind, summon, banish, ward or trap a spirit. He is quite shy and gentle to the surprise of both of his parents, who can’t exactly be called ‘gentle’.
Tumblr media
Kayano is, technically, Sumire’s half-sister! She was even created in a similar way. Her other parent would be Kuronue. As such she has both bat and kitsune heritage. She appears as a black and silver fox with wings. Her kitsune powers, influenced by Kuronue are of the Wind type. Giving her the power to create winds, cause tornadoes, and influence local weather patterns. This is also the element that manipulates ice and snow. She is very calm and level headed. Her name uses the kanji for “Flower” “Night” and “Field”.
Yusuke’s kids
Tumblr media
Hotaru is Yusuke and Keiko’s oldest child. She is an Aspiring Idol in the Idol Group called Prism. She is very energetic and optimistic. She obviously loves music and dancing. She’s quite a daddy’s girl.
Tumblr media
Raiden is pretty much as close to a full-blooded Mazoku as he possibly could be. He doesn’t need to eat human flesh but he gets stronger if he does. He moves to the demon world shortly after becoming a teenager where he really entrenches himself in demon culture. He fights a lot. He’s very independent. Sometimes he fights with his father or Shura, who is a good friend of his.
Kuwabara’s kids!
Tumblr media
Chuya is technically only Yukina’s daughter. She is the oldest member of the second generation because she was born several months after the series ended. However, Kuwabara took responsibility and essentially married Yukina to help raise her daughter so Chuya and Yukina wouldn’t suffer the stigma of being a single mother raising a child. She’s pretty confident in herself because of her loving parents.
Tumblr media
Hina is Kuwabara’s own daughter. Named after her grandmother she is pretty cheerful and naive due to how protected she has always been, by her parents and her brother.
Tumblr media
Haru is Hina’s twin brother. He’s very protective of her, similar to his Uncle Hiei. However he’s less violent. It’s possible that he’s got the same powers as his Ice Maiden Mother and Sisters but he doesn’t show it very often.
Hiei’s kids
Tumblr media
Noboru is Hiei and Mukuro’s oldest son. He’s very cynical because he knows his parents’ stories. He also oddly has very sharp teeth and almost claws on his hands. No one can quite figure out how he got them, but there are theories that they are from Hiei’s father but skipped a generation. He eats humans like his mother, so he doesn’t mind as they make it easier.
Tumblr media
Hiei’s daughter Shiomi is the embodiment of the perky goth. Cheerful and energetic and always friendly to everyone. She envies her cousins and friends for having grandparents, since she doesn’t have any. She takes it upon herself to try and find her grandfather, despite having no leads to go on except her and her father and brother’s traits. She’s a pretty powerful fire demon in her own right, so she’s not scared of going off on her own.
ShishiZuka
Tumblr media
Misumi is the second oldest of the second gen kids. She is the one who inspired others to use the birthing machine. She is no where near as vain as her parents although she likes her spotlight. Because of her, Suzuka made the Idol Group PRISM so she could be a star. She’s very much the kuudere type. She’s kinda a big sister/potential crush for Hotaru.
Koenma’s child
Tumblr media
Koenma and Botan’s daughter Ran is a shy and hardworking child. She loves doing the work of a princess. However, she also has moments of wanting to be a grim reaper like her mother. Spirit World needs a princess more than they need another reaper.

Silverleaf 12: Addressee Unknown
Our next chapter in the Silverleaf series! Thank you so much to Benjamin for sponsoring this, and if you enjoy, please be sure to let him (and me!) know! The full series is here. And thank you to everyone who helped with the ending!
What the human mind whirls out into an occasion varies across people and families and countries, and makes little sense to those who live outside of those imaginary lines that define so much of our lives.
For anyone outside of Silverleaf’s bubble, all the fuss over what amounted to a high school dance would have seemed silly, but it was more than that. The formal ball had been a part of the Silverleaf School for Girls since its inception, preparing the girls for an imagined life in high society. Some of the traditions were not even particularly relevant any longer, but that hardly mattered. If one does  something long enough, it seems right to do it, and wrong not to, and this is the way traditions are born throughout the world, however different they might be.
And Rei Hino hated society, and Rei Hino cared not for any tradition she thought interfered with the progress of women, and Rei Hino loved the ball and nurtured it in her own way, and all of these things could live together without the slightest confusion or alarm from Rei herself.
Rei looked down at the plans already assembled for the ball with a critical eye. She looked at nearly everything with a critical eye, and this was why she had been a talented journalist, and why Silverleaf had sought her out specifically to teach, but it did make her somewhat of a bear to work with in the party planning department.
“Why did we pick these centerpieces?” Rei scowled at the piece of paper that held the order. “I hope there’s time to change that, this won’t work for what we’re doing at all.”
It, like most things having to do with Rei, served as somewhat of a distraction. Rei had not had much of a social life since her grandfather had died--she would never admit that he had been most of her social life in the first place, mind, it was simply that the event had rocked her--and filling her hours as the sponsor of clubs, and planning the grand ball, and redoing the bulletin board in her classroom, all seemed like helpful and productive ways to fill her time.
Mina appeared at her side, as if by magic, as she always did.
“I didn’t know the centerpieces rich teenagers ignored all night meant so much to you.”
Mina was a constant needle to Rei, and she never understood it. Mina could be the kind of person who picked on anyone, that was true, but she seemed to particularly enjoy going after Rei. She tried not to rise to it.
She failed.
“It’s about the INSTITUTION we REPRESENT,” she said, wishing almost at once that she hadn’t reacted that way, the smile playing over Mina’s face more annoying than anything else, “and how it’s succeeded as, well, and educational center for girls, over the years,” her mind turned, thinking of how what she really meant was that it had been established for educating rich girls, but that wasn’t going to do anything to make Mina stop, “anyway, why do you care what I do?”
She crossed her arms, scowling, looking at Mina, who leaned lazily against a table.
“Nothing but intellectual curiosity,” she pointed at Rei and winked, “A long-held Silverleaf value.”
Mina looked at her with, yes, perhaps curiosity was the word, that gleaming strange smile she sometimes did. Mina was infuriating, Mina was confusing, Mina was so many things that Rei could not quite articulate, and much as she barely understood why the ball was so important to her, she barely understood why she could not break her eyes from Mina’s.
“Are you chaperoning again?” Rei was annoyed she had asked the second it came out of her mouth, and she put her hands on her hips, trying to suggest that she wished the answer would be no.
But Mina did not slip the dagger in, though she must have seen the space, simply stood across from Rei and looked her full in the face.
“Course I am. What else am I supposed to do, let you yell at all the girls all night?” She chuckled.
Rei did not reply, unsure of what to say for perhaps the first time in her life, or at least her recent memory.
“Don’t have a date though.” It hung in the air with a strange and wild vulnerability, and Mina almost shrank back from her own words, quickly throwing another sentence up next to it, trying to cover the bareness and boldness of her statement. “Too much time getting Haruka one, she needs it more than me.”
“Michiru has one for me.” It wasn’t true, at least not yet, but Rei knew Michiru could arrange it, and could not stop herself from saying it.
“All you lesbians outsource your matchmaking?” She gave a chuckle, and Mina was back to herself again, all joking and taunting, and Rei rose to the familiar comfort of it, wanting to breeze past that raw and terrifying vulnerability.
She scowled.
“You don’t know anything about me or how I identify, and it’s...it’s just wrong to gues at someone’s--”
Mina waved her hand. “Please, I majored in disaster lesbians.”
“I am not a disaster!”
“Of course not,” she shrugged, laughing, “you have your centerpieces and a date, and I mean, look at me. I don’t even have a dress.”
“Well,” Rei looked down angrily at her centerpiece, “don’t wear that short thing you wore last year, this is a formal event.”
“Oh, you noticed,” Mina waggled her eyebrows suggestively, but did not wait for a response, simply whirled around back toward the door she’d come though and called over her shoulder, “see you there with your great date!”
Rei’s eyes followed her out the door without meaning to, a niggling feeling that Mina’s talk about not having a date was less of a statement and more of a question.
Mina was a constant needle to Rei, in ways she did not understand, and what she understood least of all was the way she wished she had told Mina that her dance card was empty, too.
She furrowed her brow and looked back to her centerpieces, caught up in the wind of expectation once more.

Panic abounded.
The letter could be anywhere, and how could she have been so careless? Hotaru had lived her entire life on the razor’s edge of her own survival, and knew so well how important it was to keep all necessary items close and at hand, and the one time when she thought the undesired skills she had learned would come in handy, they failed her. She had lost something she suddenly considered more precious than any medication.
Hotaru had never been bullied, in the proper sense. Parents were more or less unlikely to allow their kid to pick on the terminally ill girl. But she wasn’t terminally ill anymore, as she reminded herself every morning in the mirror, still shocked by the truth of it, and she did not imagine there would be a lot of grace given to the strange new girl who had written a love letter to one of the most popular girls in school.
She thought of where she had been, combing over the halls and trying not to look crazed at the girls who passed her in the hallway, trying not to give any sign that anything was amiss.
What made you think about writing that letter anyway, Hotaru? Why would you ever write something like that down? Where someone else could find it?
But she knew why, if she could admit it to herself. Because she could not bring herself to say the words to her face, to confess the way she felt to Chibiusa.
The shame felt hot on her cheeks as she rushed to Ms. Tenoh’s office. She had been kind, hadn’t she? And if a teacher found the letter, they would have just kept it, wouldn’t they? Maybe she wouldn’t mind asking in the teacher’s lounge.
It was silly to think that Ms. Tenoh would have any of these allegiances to her, but she thought that anyway. Ms. Tenoh was like her, strange in this school, her edges unsanded.
Her mind turned as she dashed through the halls, still looking, still searching, to last night. To the glint in Chibiusa’s eye that Hotaru could almost mistake for fondness, but why would Chibiusa have been fond of her? They only had  a handful of classes together, and Hotaru was studious and quiet, unsure of how to live a life in the open after having been shut up in four white walls for so long.
Ms. Tenoh’s door was still open, the way it often was, but she was in her gym clothes now, stretching, and Hotaru looked up at the clock and noticed how close and looming the beginning of the day had become, how crowded the halls had been with girls in their starched skirts, the fruits and flowers of their perfumes pressing hard against each other.
“I--” the words stuck in her throat, “Ms. Tenoh, I dropped,” Hotaru wanted to throw up or cry or both, or better, to be someone else entirely, to be a bird flying away into the sun, the way she’d imagined when she was a child sitting in her hospital bed, “I dropped something important.”
“I didn’t see any--”
“I know,” Hotaru interrupted, afraid she would lose her nerve, “but maybe you could ask the teachers? It was,” she felt herself at the edge of tears, “it was a letter.”
Ms. Tenoh sat down across from her, leveling the height between them and looking at her with a gentleness that nearly infuriated Hotaru, bringing to mind immediately the way adults used to look at her when they thought she was doomed. When they had thought she was going to die.
“What’s going on?”
She said it without any prejudgement on what it might be, and her voice was kind, and for a moment Hotaru wanted to ask her if she knew what it was like to love a girl and not be able to say--and Hotaru was almost certain she did, for any girl who hadn’t assumed Ms. Tenoh was a lesbian would have been laughed out of school, whatever Ms. Hino had said about not making heteronormative gender policing assumptions--but the shame that came so hard as a teenager stopped her.
“Nothing.” she shook her head firmly. “Just, would you mind asking?”
Ms. Tenoh gave up, seeming to notice that Hotaru was immoveable on this particular topic.
“Sure,’ she nodded, standing up again and towering over Hotaru, “you better get to class.”
Hotaru nodded in return, not wanting to say anything more, and slipped quietly as a shadow out of Ms. Tenoh’s office, the chattering of the girls getting changed in the locker room behind her like a chorus of wild parrots.
Hotaru walked down the hall as quickly as she could, eyes averted from the other girls filing into their classrooms, when the delicate pop of Chibiusa’s voice caught her attention.
“Hotaru!” She waved and smiled brightly, heading down the hallway, already a little late for her class on the other end of the school.
Hotaru’s mood brightened for a moment, and she gave a soft smile and an awkward wave.
And then her eyes went to the girl next to her, and moved down. There, sticking out of a neat leather bag, was the edge of an envelope that Hotaru recognized immediately as her stationary. Her eyes darted back up to the girl carrying it, fluttering like a captured bird.
Ceres smiled at her in a dark and low way, and waved.
“Bye, Hotaru.”

What is the Land of Metal and the Village Hidden in the Silver
Aka I’m giving you a rundown because I keep mentioning them and I will finally be introducing Myra and Ria in chapter nine
Tumblr media
The Land of Metal & The Village Hidden in the Silver
The Land of Metal has been included in fanon before, if you Google it and there is a canonical Land of Iron but bear with me.
The Land of Metal isn’t so much apart of the Great Nations and is more a large island a days boat ride south of the Land of Wind. There are towns and villages and farms and lots of livestock and greenery making it quite the lovely holiday place. It’s “capital” is the Village Hidden in the Silver.
The land itself is rich in minerals perfect for creating weapons- Hence the land of metal, many weapons makers, mostly first time craftsmen of not only weaponry but jewellers come to the large island in search for the perfect mineral for their first creation.
The land is also rich in culture, while like the other nations they practice the Ninja arts and are known for their trading goods they are lovers of the arts often hosting productions of acting, dance and music, they even do travelling shows whenever they are able to.
This village is beautiful to put it plainly. Close to the seaside, gleaming with colours of all varieties. And as it’s name suggests is bountiful of silver.
The village and the land are run by the Ginkage (Silver Shadow), men who were strong and brave and first borns of their families.
The Ginkage and Family
Similarly the to how the Sand chooses their Kazekage the Ginkage’s are passed down by familial bonds. Typically it is the first born who is chosen and as many generations have passed it was often sons who became the Ginkage due to the fact that often sons were born first
The current Ginkage is Auryn, though his name means gold it has to do with his special constitution.
And to the surprise of the Land of Metal and Village Hidden in the Silver, Auryn’s first born was a daughter whom he named Myrana.
Myrana means wonderful peace- though the girl often goes by Myra which means beloved and she is next in line to be the Ginkage
Auryn goes on (with his wife of course) to have more children who do end up being boys (3) until his youngest child another daughter is born. They name her Nuria.
Nuria means light though like her older sister often goes by a nickname. She goes by Ria which means joy.
Unlike the other nations however the Ginkage’s want their children to grow and learn independently and often allows their children to live in the other hidden villages until they wish to return… however Nuria wasn’t so lucky in that department.
Those who live in the Village Hidden in the Silver have something special about them and only the other Kage’s are privy to the information. Unlike how the other nations have ANBU Black Ops… they have the Junchuriki forces.
This is where it gets real fan fiction lorey lol
Every member of the Ginkage family and many chosen babes are brought into the Junchuriki lifestyle though unlike the other nations they are respected and not shunned and have a good relationship with their beasts.
The Great Nations have the tailed beasts… the metal has the great beasts and other chakra beings.
Auryn houses the Great Beast of Gold
Myra houses the Great Beast of Metals
Ria houses the Great Beast of Flora (Nature)
And their brothers (Hotaru, Kaito and Itsuki) house Great Beasts (Fire, Water and Fauna respectively) as well.
From there it is seen many of the Forces elites have great beasts too, others have simply chakra deities etc. though there is not many they do all pack quite the punch.
Now as stated, the children of the Ginkage are often allowed to learn and live in other hidden villages while maintaining their high ranks even at a young age. The Metal take no questions in their training.
Also stated was the Nuria wasn’t quite given the same treatment. While Myra went to the Leaf, Ria was sent to the sand but the Kazekage made a condition. That she was to not leave until she was of age (or when she pleased after she was of age). He also stated it was because he wanted his son to have a friend… that did not happen but the Silver were never the wiser, the contract was signed. More details to come in chapters
Great Beasts
The Great Beasts are simply that. Great beast. Stranger and more powerful than the tailed beasts but are less known as the Land of Metal made deals with them early on.
They willingly possess and are caged by whomever’s body can host them without problems. So often during the sealing ceremonies the beast gets to chose its host.
This is far more peaceful than simply forcing it into a deal.
Great Beasts also take the forms of dragons. Water would be a serpent, earth a wyvern etc.
Seeing Red will focus on Myra and Ria the most in regards to their Great Beasts and home.
Myra (as seen in chapter seven) is Ginkage in the future, her lover undecided as of now
Ria considers herself both Metal and Sand kunoichi in the future and may be Gaara’s lover, is also undecided but possible
Unlike Tailed Beasts the Great beasts often grow, are reborn, die and live. They choose a peaceful life helping their mortals,
Myrana of the Silver
Myra- Metal. With her abilities as a Junchuriki she can manipulate all kinds of metal at her will, similarly to how her father could manipulate gold (her great-grandfather had silver). She can’t quite manipulate the natural minerals in the earth but she can feel them. Overall any kind of metal can be shaped by her. In Junchuriki form she often gains silver scales around her body.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nuria of the Silver
Ria- Flora (Nature). With her abilities as a Junchuriki she is arguably one of the more powerful ones. She can grow, manipulate, control and talk to all forms of Flora. She will find a way to make it grow whether in sand or in dirt there is always a way. She comes across as being a little nutty due to her lack of social skills and dislike of people- blame the former Kazekage for that- she was allowed to own a greenhouse to help grow and nurture medicinal herbs and other plants. When in Junchuriki form she often has green scales across her skin.

fanfic: knives, arguments and strawberry ice cream
Title: knives, arguments and strawberry ice cream Fandom: Gakuen Alice Pairing: Natsume Hyuuga x Mikan Sakura Length: 3.9k Summary: After a mission gone wrong, Mikan finds herself in an argument with the Black Cat that might just be about more than just their respective jobs. / GA-crew! AU, written for @ga-party‘s writing challenge, “ice cream parlor AU”
{ao3} , {ffn}
There's fire surrounding Mikan.
Now, if this were only a metaphor, it would be a good thing - This is Mikan Sakura: An agent extraordinaire, who fights with such passion that the air around her seems to burn with the ferocity of it. Unfortunately, Mikan's current fighting style can best be described as 'one legged lioness that just got run over by a truck' and the fire is, well, actual fire. She clutches her wounded leg and tries to make out shapes in the roaring flames. "Black Cat?!," she screams. "Black Cat, where are you?" There's no answer. Her current mission seems simple enough on paper. After she blew her cover, not in small part due to the Black Cat himself, her gang began assigning her covert operations. This is a retrieval one: Break in, grab some documents, destroy a hard drive and get out. Apparently, Natsume's gang had gotten a similar job because she'd run into him just a few minutes after breaking into the steel and glass skyscraper. They passed each other in the hallway and the carefully stoic expression she usually maintains during missions had given way to a smile. His face never changed but somewhere deep inside her, Mikan knew that he was happy to see her, too. Something had been born, between the Black Cat and her, during the time they spent together finishing the ice cream parlor job.
That something is new and precious and frightening and Hotaru Imai, her unmovable best friend, calls it "sexual tension". Mikan refuses to use that particular name but Natsume refuses to stop being a protagonist in her more R Rated dreams, so there's that. In hindsight though, Mikan can't say she's happy she crossed paths with Natsume that particular night. He is a pyromaniac, the kind of guy who uses explosives for just about anything, and just as she was about to finish up her own mission, the building had been rocked by an enormous blast centered two storeys above her. She'd told herself to leave, to simply allow Natsume to do his job, but when scores of guards ran past her, her body acted on its own. In less than a minute she was at the site of the explosion, fighting off guards with practiced efficiency. One stabbed her leg, a sharp, cold sort of pain she barely reacted to and as the smoke grew thicker, Mikan dispatched them all, ducking and whirling and kicking until her instincts told her there was no one else left to fight. Now she is alone in a flame-filled hallway, and there is still no sight of Natsume, the man she came to save. Still, she knows he's around, has seen guards she missed by an inch fall to an unseen opponent and flames part as a fighter moved through them with unimaginable ease. The Black Cat is here, that much is certain, but is he safe? She shakes her head, dispelling mental images of him choking to death on black smoke. Although "no casualties unless necessary" isn't a rule in her crew (not for lack of lobbying on her part), Mikan starts grabbing the guards she knocked unconscious, pulling them towards the building's staircase, where the smoke hasn't reached yet. It's arduous work and in her daze it takes her a few moments before she realizes that she isn't the only person pulling bodies to safety. The Black Cat is there, his dark clothes blending in with the smoke, and he’s working alongside her, rescuer now instead of opponent. Once they're done, a hand closes around her upper hand, squeezing tight before slipping down to grab her gloved hand. "This way," Natsume says, more command than request, and with her lungs beginning to burn, Mikan allows him to pull her towards safety.
They slip out of the building into a back alley, where he lets go immediately and whirls to face her.
"What," Natsume says through gritted teeth, "was that?" "That up there?," Mikan asks, leaning against a building wall to avoid putting any weight on her leg. "I have no idea. You were the one blowing up an entire floor and sicking the guards onto us." "Us?," Netsuke repeats in disbelief. His voice is hard, reminiscent of when he told her to leave all those months ago, after getting into a fight outside the ice cream parlor. "I wasn't sicking the guards onto us because there is no us. I was executing a plan that was going to drive security personnel towards me, so that some of my crew members could finish their work downstairs. Besides, what if you’d gotten knocked out or -" He stops himself and for a few seconds there is tense silence between them. Then, fast approaching sirens jolt both of them out of their argument. "This can wait," Natsume hisses with a quick glance towards her still bleeding leg. "I know a safe place close by. Come on." For the second time that night, Mikan follows him without argument.
They go from exchanging blows with enemies to exchanging blows with each other. She shouldn't have intervened. He should have signaled for her to stop. She should have left once she realized he was handling things. He should have told her he was planning to set off an explosion. She should have known he was going to blow something up. He should have - It goes on like this for a while. Mikan is loathe to admit that the pain in her leg is making her head spin and she can't help but meet his anger with her own. She would like to tell herself that they're just two agents frustrated that someone messed with their operations, but it's more than that. After all, she knows herself well enough to realize that she would not have run upstairs to help a stranger or even a casual acquaintance. But it's difficult to admit her own clouded judgment with him making her feel like little more than a child. Eventually, Mikan snaps. "Look, I get it. I messed up your operation, I'm sorry. It won't happen again. I just had to make sure..." She trails off.
If you've got nothing else, go with the truth, she thinks to herself before continuing. "There was fire everywhere. You could have been hurt, or worse. And I thought of losing you and it was...I was scared, because see even though I hate you, I really do, I also care about you, I...like you. Like like you. If that makes sense. I mean, it makes no sense to me but it's...that's how it is." Natsume's face stays carefully blank but Mikan sees a swirl of tumultuous emotion within the deep red of his eyes. Perhaps he'll understand, she thinks. Perhaps this attraction between them exists for him, too, perhaps this desire to protectholdlove is reciprocated. But Natsume's eyes narrow. "What right do you have," he asks, with a deadly kind of softness, "to mess with my job just because you can't be bothered to control whatever feelings you think you have? If you can't be a professional, fine, but at least screw up somewhere else. I don't need some fangirl tripping all over me." She blinks, for a second too stunned to answer. He looks at her, coolly. Right then, with her wearing the torn remains of her mission garb, looking ragged and beaten, she feels like there is a giant chasm between them, threatening to swallow up whatever feelings she has. Or, according to him, thinks she has. "I'm sorry," Mikan says. "I truly am. I'm sorry I messed up your plan and potentially risked your entire op. I'm sorry for how I helped you. But I'm not going to apologize for helping in the first place or for caring. If that makes me a fangirl, then fine. Call me that." She turns around, heading towards the exit. Natsume stays silent. Strange, how him not doing anything to stop her from leaving feels so monumentally, utterly wrong. "Thank you for letting me hide here, Black Cat," Mikan says as the door falls shut behind her. "I'll stay out of your way from now on."
This is Mikan Sakura: A passionate girl with a luminous smile. The kind of person who scoops up bugs to keep people from stepping on them, who tears up whenever cherry tree blossoms dance in the wind like rose colored rain. A person for whom kindness is an instinct, not just a characteristic.
This is also Mikan Sakura: A trained operative, who knows how to kill, maim and survive in more ways than she can count. A woman who doesn’t trust the lovely old lady in the apartment next to her, because every person can - and will be - a threat. A person who makes money stealing, observing and hurting others.
As she sits in front of the ice cream parlor where she first met Natsume, in a vague attempt to lead any potential pursuers away from her crew, Mikan realizes that around him, she let that first self overpower the second one. Kindness is as simple as breathing but what good did it do today? What form did it take? She wants to strangle herself for her foolishness and part of the reason why she hasn’t gone back to the apartment she shares with Hotaru is that she knows her best friend would chew her out, and for good reason.
Mikan sighs and hugs her legs with her arms, trying to keep herself warm. Her wound still hurts but she’s not worried about any lasting damage. She’ll bounce back from this physical injury. The emotional one, though… Above her, the stars are struggling to pierce through the constant clouds above Tokyo. If she closes her eyes, she can dream them up one by one, a hundred, a thousand lights watching over her.
There it is again, the foolishness, the naivete. The stars aren’t watching, they’re just balls of gas. She isn’t a girl sitting with her back to a wall, resting after a long day. She is an operative, exhausted from being chased by police sirens. But then, that’s not quite right either, is it? Because of course, she is both.
And she wants to be both, too, wants to carry her experiences behind her teeth like weapons and her softness in her face like an embrace for anyone who might need it. Perhaps there are even crews where both is possible, but hers sure isn’t one of them, never has been, never will be. But leaving Z isn’t an option either, because this horrible, bloody job is the one thing she knows how to do. This is her life.
And this crew is where Hotaru is, her best friend. They are together, side by side in every story, and she won’t change that just because meeting Natsume has made her want to indulge in her softer side even more than usual. Or, to be more truthful: He simply makes that softer side come out. It’s entirely beyond her control. When he teases her, pulls her proverbial pigtails, brings her popsicles while fighting at her side, he makes her feel....He makes her feel the kind of feelings that make her head spin.
The kind of feelings that now make her heart hurt, too.
His words were harsh and they stung, undeniably. To hear that the object of her unwilling affection doesn’t care about her isn’t exactly uplifting. To hear all that after running from a burning building is decidedly one of the worst evenings Mikan has ever had.
Knives can be knives, her first teacher had once taught her. Never more. She feels the truth of it now, with every stab of pain in her leg and every pulse of sorrow in her heart.
Sun chases away the darkness eventually. Mikan thinks she must make a peculiar picture, a lone brunette in torn clothing sitting on the ground in front of the ice cream parlor. At this point, she’s just inviting any crew who has a problem with Z to show up and start shooting. She tried her best to hide, scooted over until she was half covered by trash cans. Still, sometimes hiding isn’t enough.
This time however, it seems to be, because the first person who recognizes her isn’t an operative with a sniper rifle, isn’t even her former coworker from the ice cream parlor.
The first person who steps behind the trash can, huddling down to sit next to her, is Natsume.
“So,” he says levely. “You messed that fight up. Just making that clear, the whole not trusting me to do my job thing? Bad.”
Mikan nods mutely. Natsume sighs and scratches his dark head.
“But... I messed that argument up.”
The surprise must be evident on her face because Natsume turns away, seemingly...embarrassed?
“You’re not the only person who can apologize when they’re wrong,” he says gruffly. “I shouldn’t have called you a fangirl. I shouldn’t have criticised the fact that you care, like that’s not the greatest sign of strength a person in our business can show.”
“I… accept your apology,” Mikan says slowly. She turns to face him. He looks tired, like he hasn’t slept any more than she has. Still looks handsome though. Damn.
Natsume gazes back and forth between her and the trash.
“So…,” he says. “This your hideout? I mean, I’d heard about things at Z going downhill, but I didn’t think you’d have to sleep next to the ice cream parlor and a bunch of trash cans.”
“We had a wonderful place once,” Mikan says wistfully. “A whole floor dedicated to snacks, couches and video game consoles. But alas, the economy hit the crime business hard. You know how it is.”
“Maybe your gang just sucks,” Natsume says. “Or maybe, and this is another guess of mine, you decided to stay away from your hideout because bringing the police there would cause more trouble than bringing them here.”
Mikan blinks. He’s right, which means he not only guessed where she would be, he also guessed why she’d be there in the first place.
“Am I really that much of an open book?,” she ponders out loud.
The Black Cat shrugs. “Yeah, pretty much.”
Mikan sighs, and with a glance at her, he continues: “But it’s also easy for me to figure out where you might be, because…I’ve been thinking about you a lot these past weeks. Or months.”
“Oh?,” Mikan asks, confused. “What kind of thinking?”
“The kind of thinking where you imagine yourself kissing someone because to you, they’re the most beautiful thing you’ve seen in years.”
Mikan’s brain is busy trying to do the emotional equivalent of quantum physics to understand whether or not Natsume is saying what she thinks he’s saying. But before she has time to solve this particular equation, he continues, dispelling her rattling thoughts with his words.
“I’m not great at caring about things,” Natsume says. “Which isn’t to say that I don’t care. It just means that whenever I do, I overthink things. Like, ‘is this person who they say they are’ or ‘will they be a threat’ or ‘will they be in danger’ or-“
He shakes his head.
“That kind of stuff. But with you, I knew from the start. Yes, you are who you say you are. No, you won’t be a threat. And I used to think that you wouldn’t be in danger either, that you’d just kick danger’s ass. Tonight though…Tonight you risked yourself to help me and it was terrifying. Not just because it almost cost both of us our mission, simply because…”
For a while he pauses and Mikan looks at him, only looks at him, watches as the façade of the fighter in front of her is slowly stripped away.
“…Because it almost cost you me, right?,” she completes his sentence. Natsume nods tightly. His eyes meet hers, red and fierce and unyielding.
“Subterfuge is familiar,” Natsume says. “Lying is what we do. But I met you and I thought that you were like sunlight, the thing that dispels all shadows, and I wanted you to have the truth, all the truth I have to offer. You and your apron and those stupid ice cream cones – you have no idea how often I’ve dreamed up that image. Dreamed up you.”
Natsume swallows. Mikan, for her part, doesn’t dare breathe.
“I called your feelings imaginary not because I thought they were but because I feared they would be. But if they’re not, if you meant them, than I couldn’t just pretend that I’m not in love with you. Because it would have been a lie, and I told you, right? I wanted you to have the truth. So this is my truth: I’m in love with you. And I’m tired of pretending otherwise. ”
The truth. Funny, how a word can be so small yet fill her with so much happiness.
She’d felt so ridiculous after telling him about her feelings, like the worst agent in the world. Mikan knows she is skilled, her aim with a knife is unparalleled, even Hotaru says so. But her heart has control over everything she does. People have shunned her for that, criticized her for her refusal, or inability, to change. After his previous reaction, she expected Natsume to share their opinion. She certainly didn’t expect him to show her that he, too, lets his heart control his action from time to time.
Here he is, telling her that he shares her feelings, bearing his heart. And here she is, looking at him with no censure in her eyes.
Across the street, a runner passes them, her feet a pit-pat on the ground. Leaves rustle in the wind. The whole world is waking up and something within her, something she forcefully tried to bury just a few hours ago, is waking up along with it.
Mikan laughs. “You absolute idiot,” she says, “I mean honestly, you ass.”
It’s Natsume’s turn to look stunned. “I…-,” he starts. She cuts him off.
“There I was, stammering something about liking you, sounding like a preschooler confessing to her crush and you just go and have a whole speech with big words and metaphors and grand gestures and ohmygod, I’m not the fangirl.” Her delight is so overpowering it makes her giggle. “You’re the fangirl.”
And then she rushes forward, as if carried by the invisible wave of all she is feeling, and she’s kissing him, his lips scorching under hers.
He makes a startled sound, somewhere between surprise and groan, and his hands come up to rest on her hips. Natsume pushes her back, until she’s nestled snugly between him and the trash can behind her. She bites his bottom lip, playful yet demanding, and he opens his mouth to hers, lets her taste him, lets her breathe his breath.
Mikan reaches up, tangling her hands in his dark hair, feeling the hint of sweat at his temple. He smells like wildfire and sugar and they kiss again and again, his lips only ever leaving hers to brush against her cheek, her temple, and further down. When Natsume trails open-mouthed kisses down her neck, she can’t help but jerk back, barely suppressing a gasp.
He stops immediately, pulling away.
“Are you…Do you want me to stop?”
His earnest question makes Mikan smile.
“Can you keep a secret?,” she asks him teasingly. His hands on her hips tighten, pulling her closer until their foreheads are touching.
“I’ll take your secrets to the grave,” he promises.
She was joking but right then, there is no humor in his voice. Mikan lets her hand fall from his hair, trails it down his ear to rest it on the curve of his cheek. There’s the softest hint of stubble under her fingertips, almost as though between fighting in the skyscraper and coming for her, he hasn’t found the time to shave.
“It’s my tactical weakness: I’m ticklish.” Mikan tells him. “My enemies could use it against me.”
Natsume cracks a grin.
“As if you’d let them. Though, speaking for myself, I know I’ll certainly try.”
“Probably,” Mikan sighs, before admitting: “But then, we’re not enemies. Although we are from rival crews,” she reminds him.
“True,” Natsume says, scooting back slightly so he can look at her more clearly. “But we don’t have to be.”
Mikan’s eyes widen.
“Do you mean…”
“There’s a spot with Nova waiting for you,” Natsume says softly. “If you want it.”
Nova. The crew Natsume built himself, the crew who operates under the sigil of a single star, much like the Academy, their sworn enemy. There isn’t much information on them available, at least not in spaces Mikan has access to. Everyone knows the Black Cat is their leader. Everyone knows they’re efficient, secretive and choosy about the jobs they accept. Looking at Natsume and knowing what she knows about the way he works, Mikan also understands that they’re the tiniest bit flashy and, as strange as it is to use that word to describe a criminal organization, kind.
But Nova lacks one thing Mikan doesn’t want to lose: Hotaru.
On top of that, there’s doubt gnawing at her, a tiny voice whispering that he is asking her out of affection, not respect.
“I don’t want you to feel like you need to allow me into your crew just because you…like me, just because I like you,” Mikan says.
“I wanted to ask you before all this happened,” Natsume says without hesitation. “I wanted to ask you when we first met, after you fought alongside me right in front of this ice cream parlor. And it wasn’t because you were hot as hell, although, I will admit that you were. It was because you were damn good at what you do. Still are. A bit of a tactical klutz maybe but,” he winks. “We all have our weaknesses. Aside from me of course.”
She punches him in the shoulder for that.
“I have friends within Z,” Mikan says. “I can’t abandon them.”
“I’m not asking you to,” Natsume assures her. “All I’m saying is…” He nods towards the ice cream parlor. “This old place isn’t going to open anytime soon, and I’m sort of hungry. We have an ice cream machine at our hideout. You have ice cream making skills. It’s a match made in heaven.”
“Ha!,” Mikan says triumphantly. “I knew it! You only want me for my ice cream after all.”
Natsume smirks. “Well,” he drawls. “If we’re using ice cream as a clever metaphor for se-“
She punches him in the shoulder again, just for good measure, and he snickers.
So Natsume wants to take her to Nova’s hideout. He wants to bring an outsider into his crew’s space. They both know the amount of trust he’s putting into her, and she’s ridiculously touched that he’s offering this to her even after the messed up operation of the night before. Of course, Nova’s hideout is, in a way, enemy territory and if it were another agent offering to take her there, she would say no. Hell, she wouldn’t say anything, she would simply leave.
But the person looking at her is no other agent, it’s the Black Cat, it’s Natsume.
So Mikan just smiles.
“Let’s go,” she says, and offers him her hand.
