TAGGED BY: @honorheartedโโ ( thank you! )
TAGGING: Steal it from me! Anyone with a canon character or an oc! I would tag people but idk who would be interested in this dash game.
(Explanation below!)
I did all of this on mobile so I hope itโs all still readable. I just didnโt want to go through my suitcase and retrieve my laptop and wait for photoshop to run.
Hewlett: In my first watch of t.urn, I did not like Hewlett in the first season. I liked him a little more in the last episode of s1, but with the whole gravestone thing -- it just gave me a really negative impression of him. I thought he was really egotistical and selfish. It was mostly s2 & s3 that got me to soften towards Hewlett and he became oen of my favorite characters. I like all of the t.urn characters (well mostly, except maybe Arnold, Simcoe, or Abe at times) but i really softened towards Hewlett and Iโm a fan of Annlett anyways, so that very likely made me feel more fonder of Hewlett.ย
Hewlett had plenty of screen time, but with him being one of my faves, I will always welcome more screen time lmao. I think with how little we know of the real Edmund Hewlett and how t.urn made it their own vision, I think they had an easier time developing his character besides the others. (Even with Abe, the writers held somewhat of a tie to his historical counterpart, but obviously not much). So compared to the others, I think they had a better idea on what to do with Hewlett from the beginning and maybe Burn Gorman had a lot of say and a lot of ideas to put out there because i feel like he was really passionate about Hewlett. So, anyway, it was easier with Hewlett. I like his whole progression from how he became this guy most people would disagree and hate to a more likeable character towards the end. I liked his whole slight involvement in the spy ring becauseย enemy spy plots? Sign me up. Bit I liked, too, with that whole involvement, he still stayed to his loyalties even if what he was doing was the opposite of being loyal. I just found him to be a really complex character imo. I could go on and on here but this is already getting long.
Rogers:ย So Rogers didnโt get as favorable result for this as Hewlett, but if Iโm writing a character, usually that means i like their character or Iโm interested in them in some way. Rogers & Hewlett are complete opposites and writing both is a fun time, but I find it easier to write Hewlett and all of the flexibility he has. Rogers is a majorly violent character so I feel like with his characterization from t.urn and just how his character is, I get stuck in a box sometimes. But I do like writing both, they are both fun to explore, but like any muse: thereโs pros and cons to writing someone. Itโs not any of y rp partnersโ fault at all, itโs mostly just how T.urn wanted to portray him and my lack of ideas.
Rogers isnโt my favorite, but heโs fun to write. I think similar to my Hewlett section, the writers had less of an idea to do with him because we know more about him than we do of the real Edmund Hewlett of Setauket. Rogers was hardly involved in the revolution, he left after he gotย โfiredโ and lost his rangers (and not in the way t.urn depicted). He is more known from the French and Indian war and t.urn was close to the historical counterpart with a few twists (and the timeline is off), but I think after that, they didnโt have any ideas what to do with him. His wholeย โrevengeโ arc gets easily pushed to the side and forgotten. The only revenge we ever hear of him is with Andre, the Ben & Rogers feud is forgotten after the first season. I like his part in s3, but I think the writers shouldโve done more with his character.
Regardless, I do like to study Rogersโ character generally. I can associate more songs with him than I can with Hewlett, so I also like to figure that stuff out and find songs that match his vibe. I just kinda wish they had Rogers do more in the show, have two antagonistic violent characters running around to add more stress and drama fro the spy ring (and could be manipulated to go after one another since Simcoe & Rogers have their own grudge with one another, more so Rogers and his wounded pride. We see thsi in s3 a bit but idk they couldโve done more with Rogersโ hunt for vengeance to all that wronged him).

honorhearted asked :ย For Lydia: willow, sunflower For Hewlett: tulip, violet For Rogers: snapdragon, southernwood
Botanical Headcanons. / @honorheartedโโ -- accepting
Lydia: willow : ย how does your muse handle sadness ย & ย depression ?
ย ย ย ย I think I may have talked about this before but no such post is coming up for this topic? Okay, so, Lydia doesnโt entirely put herself into a new project right away, but thatโs the end goal most of the time. She sits with it, talks it out, and it sometimes depends on what is making her sad thatโll direct her actions, and then she does something about it. She doesnโt like to be stationary with her sadness, she doesnโt like to think about it or experience it, to listen to pity, and to be reminded of it. She doesnโt ignore it but she tries to keep it at bay.ย
ย ย ย ย I think that was one of the most influential reasons why she decided to get herself involved in the spy ring. She thought she was going to be a simple camp follower, and she sorta is anyway when intelligence isnโt coming in, but she instead got pulled into the spy ring. She wanted to do something about her sadness and she knew Laurence wouldnโt want her to spend the rest of her life being sad over his death, so she wanted to make him proud. Eventually, her drive and motivation to participate in the Patriot effort shifts a bit as she makes friends, enemies, connections, yโknow all of the canon t.urn events that come into play, but it will always have a connection to Laurence in some way.ย
ย ย ย ย So, basically, she will usually speak with her mother about it for comfort and then to her dad for extra support but also some more guidance, but in camp, I think she would keep a journal and write about it. She may have a few friends in the camp that she would speak to about it, but she doesnโt wish to add any stress to anyone else, so she takes it into her own hands. Itโs her sadness, itโs her duty to do something with it, and she instead uses it for โfuelโ in a way for her next action. Whatever that action is, it depends, but usually, itโs for distraction and progress.
Lydia: sunflower : ย what brings your muse the most joy in life ?ย
ย ย ย ย Itโs so cheesy and cliche but Lydia is already wanting me to write love, just in the general sense. Not only just a partner, a family member, or a friend, but to have that wholesome presence. With the war, itโs easy to focus on pain, so the little moments of love and hope give her the most joy. But other than that, I would say projects that she sees through. When she completes a goal. That can get her motivation up than dwell on the negativity.ย
Hewlett: tulip : ย how does your muse view people in general ?ย
ย ย ย ย For this, Iโm going to have to speak about two different parts in the t.urn timeline because s1 & s2 Hewlett sees people differently from later s3 Hewlett & s4.
ย ย ย ย Hewlett is gullible, we can see it with all of the events that go on in the first season alone. Hewlett sees the British Army as the โgoodโ guys and views them with rose-tinted glasses. He doesnโt expect any ill will from his peers and believes most of them are honorable people, or the people under his command are and he holds high expectations for them, maybe too high of an expectation over anyone. He sees them as having a similar, or exact, moral code as he does and from the get-go, expects that they all are good-natured in a gullible way. He doesnโt see how any of his men would wish to manipulate him and the โtroubledโ ones can be talked into shape. He thinks he can shape the men under his command. He sees the townspeople of Setauket that are Patriotic like little kids who need to learn a lesson, to put it simply. He thinks they can be easily dealt with and they are just toying with childish notions and a misunderstanding of their circumstances. Canโt they see why a country under British rule is good?
ย ย ย ย In s3 & s4, Hewlett sees the nasty underbelly of his own group. His whole capture, Simcoeโs whole โSpeedrun on how to make everyone in Setauket hate meโ in s3, and Andreโs whole dismissal of Hewlett and undermining of him. All of this shows him that the world isnโt black and white. He believes in his cause, but he doesnโt like the corruption within it, he can see both sides of the war as bad, so thatโs where it sort of leads him to work with Abe in those seasons (other than their mutual hatred of Simcoe anyway). He still doesnโt believe in the Patriot cause and as the British side is losing, heโs sort of like โLet them have the colonies, I need to figure out what I wantโ and doesnโt care so much about โreprimandingโ people as he does in the earlier seasons. Heโs tried to change people and it hasnโt worked out for him. His expectations are lower in s4 (and almost to a comedic sense of โWell Iโve seen people do worse than thatโ). I think in some regard he still holds high expectations but tbh for t.urn characters, I think the writers did a better job with Hewlettโs development. It felt realistic and interesting, but then, too, Iโm not sure how much Burn had a say in it or if it was all up to the writers. They also had an almost fresh slate with Hewlettโs character with some historical influences of the real-life figure and a combination of some other historical figures, so it was easier for his development.
Hewlett: violet : ย how does your muse respond to betrayal ?
ย ย ย ย We can kinda see this with the whole failed marriage between Anna & Hewlett, but generally, he doesnโt take it well. It will be worse if itโs someone he trusts, but any act of betrayal is taken personally. I think Hewlett puts almost too much of himself into his authority, it molds him, he doesnโt see it so much as a job and a duty but as something personal he has to do. Probably a lot of it has to do with his motivation to join the British Army and the war because of his parentโs financial downfall and how he wishes to do good for his own parents.
ย ย ย ย So, Hewlett may be in disbelief at first, but not long after he will be mad and really observe his past memories with whoever betrayed him. This only adds to his anger. He will be angry at himself for not seeing it earlier (again, his high expectations) and for the other person to stoop so low to result in betrayal. This is more s1 & s2, a little bit of s3 as well, but by s4 he is sadly more used to it by that point. He will be annoyed that he didnโt see it, but he will be less angry overall and more of an โOh well, thatโs another one for the pile.โ Itโll just serve his more negative view of people. He still holds onto hope, but I think the Hewlett we see in s1 & in s4 are very different in terms of their mindset. Weirdly in a way, his negative mindset motivates him to be the good in the world.
Rogers: snapdragon : ย is your muse merciful ?ย why or why not ?
ย ย ย ย I want to say no, but he is merciful in a way. Rogers has the least amount of moral code within my muses, but he does hold a moral code (even if itโs slim). He wonโt harm children, and while he will usually be less violent with women than he is with men, he will attack or kill a woman if need be. But children? No, he couldnโt. Generally, I donโt think he could and after being around Thomas, even if he didnโt talk to him much, it stuck in his mind and in his moral code. I canโt think of why specifically, but itโs probably because of the whole innocence of children and children usually have fewer ill intentions than adults do. He hasnโt experienced a child that wanted to betray, belittle, or harm him, so they are off his list. I think a lot of his moral code is built by experience. He has seen violence in men and women, adults, but never in children so far.
Rogers: southernwood : ย how seriously does your muse take themself ? ย do they prefer a solemn ย & ย intellectual atmosphere or do they delight in jokes ย & ย banter ?ย
ย ย ย ย I think I answered something similar to this? It seems familiar yet I canโt find anything in my posts about it, but he much prefers jokes and banter. He doesnโt mind deep, serious, even philosophical, conversation, but too much of that can become boring.ย
ย ย ย ย I think Rogers takes himself seriously to some degree. He has an ego and he hates to hear any semblance of an insult towards him, but he will make fun of himself. Itโs a rare moment, he doesnโt like introspection so much (as he likes to do that with other people), but he will admit to a flaw. Sort of like the scene where Rogers was going into all the people that wronged him and his purpose for working with Abe, and when Abe asks him what he was talking about, he doesnโt seem annoyed that Abe wasnโt listening and laughs. (Probably because itโs better if Abe doesnโt know anyway). That sort of thing and admitting something that isnโt that big of a deal to him is easier. Heโll admit that he has anger problems and a drinking problem, but he wonโt admit that heโs getting old and that his loyalty is only to himself because it doesnโt suit his ego. Itโs a very hypocritical answer, but I think itโs also a complex one.
ย ย ย ย So both I guess? It depends who it is with, but usually, I would say he likes jokes and banter more.

ย ย ย ย I have mentioned before that Robert Rogersโ whole โbrotherhoodโ and โloyaltyโ he seems to pride himself on with his men when he is in command of the Queenโs Rangers is just words. He is only loyal to himself and while he believes in brotherhood, itโs just an arrogant thought and heโs very self-preserving in the end. Itโs a way to win over trust, yes, but also a connection to his past in some way. Rogersโ talks about how he got screwed over a lot and betrayed, despite him being willing to betray others and forged his own meaning of loyalty, I think itโs also a reassurance. He sees betrayal and all of the people who wronged him as weaknesses and he isnโt fond of being weak at all in any measure. If his men are loyal to him, and only to him (hence instilling a distrust of redcoats), and having people around him at his command, heโs in his element and he has the upper hand. Sort of a whole power trip to sort of โproveโ himself I guess.ย
ย ย ย ย When Ben kills one of his men, he says itโs vengeance that heโs after (and in a physical sense, it is), but I think he sees it as a weakness. He takes it as a personal insult and again just shows heโs weak that one of his men got killed so easily, that he didnโt manage to kill every Patriot soldier he ambushed. His sense of โpowerโ is shaken because someone outsmarted him and if he couldnโt kill this lone dragoon and let him escape, how does that make him look? Not as remarkable as he likes to appear, both with the reputation he gained in the French & Indian war when the public loved and respected him to when his reputation crumbled to pieces with his debts and mistakes after the war.

For each โโญ๏ธโ I get, Iโll write a headcanon about our muses. / @anoseforrottenapplesโ -- accepting
ย ย ย ย Rogers and Mary: I feel like Mary & Rogers have a bit of a weird unnamed dynamic going on. They arenโt exactly friends but arenโt strictly enemies either (well until the one time Rogers basically threatens Abe in front of Mary), and they agree on a few things regarding Abe. Rogers is not the best marriage advisor, as we can see from his failed marriage, but I feel like they do get along on that level and Rogers did grow an unintended appreciation of the Woodhull family.ย
ย ย ย ย I can imagine that when Abe was away, maybe Mary mentioned something about dinner or Rogers was thinking of a woman's duties at the time and foraged some ingredients to add to her next meal. She didnโt have to use them but he basically just walks into their house being like โHere, you can use thisโ and walks back out to the cellar unless invited to stay in the home.
ย ย ย ย Lydia and Mary: ooo okay so Lydia used to be a seamstress. Maybe this is mentioned at some point and they both work on a sewing project together? Or they both have their own projects going and just converse while working on them? I can just imagine them collaborating and chatting about sewing lmao. Maybe Lydia makes some clothes for Thomas.ย

( ooc ): Finally put together a bio for Rogersโ werewolf verse (in his bio). Itโs still a wip and hastily written, but basically he came across a werewolf during the French & Indian war, got scratched and beat up by it, and now has a werewolf curse. Under the cut is his strengths, abilities, and weaknesses.
Strengths/Abilities: Rogers has a keen sense of smell and an extremely good tracking ability, which only benefits him as a Ranger.ย
He can travel great distances on foot for longer without tiring out as a human, but this only increases when he is in his werewolf form.ย
He naturally has a lot of strength from being a werewolf.ย
When in his werewolf form, his speed, strength, speed, and senses are only heightened.
Weaknesses: After transforming and engaging in his powers when in that form, with his age he easily gets sore. Generally, he does have the advantage of speed and strength in his human form, but it isnโt easy for the body to keep up with it after his transformation is over. He doesnโt have the healing ability some might think he would have with his fur, so when he transforms back into a human, he relies heavily on alcohol to numb that soreness a bit. This soreness and adaptability to being a human were easier in his youth, but as he has gotten older, itโs harder.ย
Not necessarily a weakness now, but Rogers can sometimes go through an โoverloadโ on his senses. This usually only occurred when he was younger and in the beginning stages of understanding his new powers, but can sort of come to play if he is in a huge battle (like on the battlefield).
Fire when in his werewolf form because of his fur, but also high-pitched noises. With his heightened senses, he can be sensitive to noises. This can be used more in his werewolf form, but also can be used in his human form.
Wolfbane is poisonous to him, werewolf form or not.
Tacos: itโs a good distraction tool (crack related)
Sweats easily.
In his werewolf form, itโs free game for all. He will attack anyone, even loved ones and allies. Once he has turned back to a human, he doesnโt remember anything but flashes of it cloud his dreams (which are generally really disoriented, to begin with). But even with these memories appearing in his dreams, he doesnโt believe they are real because they feel so disconnected from himself and strange. So he may find the dead body of someone he loves and will get a dream of him killing them, but he wonโt believe it because this werewolf curse already lays heavy on his psyche anyway. He wouldnโt be able to deal with it, so he would deflect.

anonymous asked : ๐, ๐, ๐ for Rogers
๐
๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐. -- accepting
๐ย :ย ย how much does my muse value companionship?ย do they constantly keep people around them,ย or do they prefer to be alone often?ย do they have or desire to have many friends?ย do they see every meeting as an opportunity to make a new friend?ย
ย ย ย ย I would say Rogers is more of an ambivert than a strictly introvert-extrovert person. He would much prefer to have people around him, but he doesnโt mind being on his own. He likes his own idea of companionship: a position where he is the leader and he has โloyal brothersโ under him, thinking their loyalty extends more than coin. It reminds him of his โgoldenโ years when he was younger in the previous war and reinforces the idea to him that he is a man that should be followed. Heโs skilled, respected, and almost General-like in his image of himself. It just gives him a reason to be the leader he sees himself as.ย
ย ย ย ย Though I donโt think Rogers ever has anyone close to him and he doesnโt allow anyone to, no matter what he might think. He thinks he has close friends, but he really doesnโt. He doesnโt realize that he closes himself off from others. I think he has a childhood best friend in his hometown, but they drifted apart and only occasionally meet for a drink when heโs in the area (which might be once a year). Rogers only thinks of himself most of the time and thinks of his image, his duty, and work, before making friendships. I think heโs quick to judge and doesnโt trust others easily from being wronged by so many in the past, which doesnโt help him with forming friendships. I think he does desire companionship but doesnโt view every opportunity as a means to make friends. He more uses people for company,ย for his own enjoyment, or for reinforcing his perception of himself. (Think his relationship with Abe, thatโs how most of his interactions are with his โcloseโ friends).
๐ย :ย ย which of the four seasons suits my muse best,ย and why?ย
ย ย ย ย I was going to say autumn for this with his preference for earthy tones and his habit of being in the wilderness so often, but for symbolism sake: winter. He so badly wants to be Spring, the creator of new beginnings, and to have such opportunities at his fingertips, but by the effects of his actions and outside sources, he kills off every single opportunity bit by bit. Winter a lot to me is loneliness, a focus on the self and oneโs inner world, and Rogers generally only thinks of himself. He once was autumn, slowly everything is dying around him, but by T.URN, he hardly gets to hold onto anything before it leaves his grip. He already starts off at a low point with his debt and being the laughing stock of the British side, the prisoner exchange, etc. So with winter and its icy touch, everything dying, I see that as a better symbolism for him. Rogers is very cold with his personality anyways, with his selfishness and greed, so it isnโt that far off.
๐ย :ย ย does my muse desire romance?ย is it something they would actively seek out,ย or prefer to happen moreย โย naturally?ย โย what is their love life like?ย do they have any exes or past flings,ย or crushes?ย
ย ย ย ย Rogers isnโt the hardest muse of mine to ship with but he isnโt the easiest either. Heโs one of my muses that has an indifferent feeling to it. He doesnโt get crushes easily when I have him interact with other muses, and he doesnโt flirt really or anything to allow such an interaction. Heโs all *shrugs* in terms of romantic shipping. Generally, with his divorce, I donโt think Rogers is looking for anything. He is far more focused on his own interests (and perhaps some guilt over his divorce?), to where romance isnโt something heโs pursuing. He wants revenge and already dealt with romance, he doesnโt see the appeal of it and feels too old for it. In T.URN, he very rarely will have a one-night stand to blow off steam and may enter a friends-with-benefits scenario, but as stated before, heโs far more interested in more important matters in his life.ย ย
ย ย ย ย I think for Rogers, a romance would start from a friendship and may be something thatโs sort of taken lightly. Like if it doesnโt work out, heโs not too invested but he has some company and companionship around. Itโs not really a slow burn so much as a slow process of easing into a romance dynamic.

SMART UNTIL INFECTED WITH STUPID
You think you're safe don't you? You are probably the responsible one in the group, perhaps even the mom friend. You are relatively smart but all it takes is one little thing to suck all your braincells out. It could be hanging around your fellow stupid friends, it could be being left alone, it could be having a bit too much fun. The stupid lives inside you and it just takes the right environment for it to show.

Tw: alcohol mention, alcohol addiction mention, war trauma mention
ย ย ย ย Iโll expand on this a little later because itโs late my time, but Iโm just thinking of how the war hardened Rogers. I donโt think anyone at any age is prepared for war and I did the math and he wouldโve been 25 when he first started fighting/serving the British side. 25 probably wasnโt young in 1700โฒs times, but Iโm just thinking generally, it does seem like a young age to be thrusted into war because during your 20โฒs you are trying to find yourself and figure out your life (more in the modern day than lifespan in he 1700โฒs, but still just wagering that into this).ย
ย ย ย ย In t.urn, we know of Rogersโ alcohol problem and I think I kinda have an idea where that mightโve originated from. He likely drank a lot before the war, but I think Rogersโ starting hitting it heavier and developed an addiction to it when he was in the war. I headcanon that at first he was queasy at the sight of blood and gore until eventually he desensitized to it the more he saw. With that and his friends dying, I think to deal with the trauma of war and just dealing with it in general, he took to the bottle. I think that started his addiction and it just got worse from there as his debts piled up, as his fame dwindled, his divorce, and eventually all of the betrayals and rough circumstances he deals with in t.urn, his drinking problem just got worse.

ย ย ย ย Anyway I think it's neat that t.urn added the small character study fact that Roger's trained his Rangers (before he got dismissed from being a commander of the Queen's Rangers) to not trust redcoats while they were aiding their side of the war. Idk just gives you more of an insight into Rogers' own brand of (dis)loyalty.

khirurg asked :ย which of your muses would be most likely to survive a zombie apocalypse?
Qโs for a multimuse! / @khirurgโโ -- accepting
ย ย ย ย Iโm not going to count my zombie apocalypse muses Zoey & Rochelle (L4D my beloved) because that would make answering this way too easy. I would say who could survive the longest on their own would be Rogers, Arala, or Sean. Rogers has the most survivalist skills out of all of my muses, but Arala has way more charm than him.ย
ย ย ย ย She would probably be the one to stock up on a ton of food and essentials and make trading deals, gaining her some friendships. She can be super charming so I feel like that will definitely help her survive, as well as her basic battle fighting skills.ย
ย ย ย ย Sean for a time was completely on his own after he got out of reform school and before he got into the VDLG. I believe he picked up some basic survival skills, but like Arala he has his charm on his side. I feel like he will be able to manipulate others easily or get into peopleโs good graces if he ever has to rely on someone else for supplies. Sean also doesnโt look threatening on the outside, so that can help a lot to gain peopleโs trust and then use them later on.
ย ย ย ย I would throw Evie & Jacob into this as well, but I feel like an argument would definitely hurt their teamwork and they may separate for a while. I think both of them could survive this scenario, but these three have much better chances.ย

ย ย ย ย Hey ! I'm Bambi (but I also go by Eden), she/her, 21, and this is my 18+ multifandom multimuse blog for n.sfw purposes ! (S.mut or any darker, potentially triggering content). Most of my focus is on the franchises Dragon Age & Red Dead Redemption 2, and historical time periods as well, but I have a few other muses that are from different fandoms. This blog is private, mutuals only & multi-ship, except for Jacob Frye ( who is single-ship ). This blog has existed since April 8, 2022 !
