Cozy, plz. You are killing me here. Absolutely floored by the Nyoka voice reveal vid.
I love Tia, I love Nyoka, I love Cecil, I love Emilio. The list is gonna grow as you share more.
Big dopamine rush when I see your work on my dash. It brightens up my day. Always proud of you.
(In reference to this) 💖DsdsfGdgdh

Thanks it was the most accurate depiction of my little vision 😭😭 I’d do more like it, but it’s veering a little too niche to be enjoyed outside of myself. So any future stuff like that is probably better off staying in the drafts, so to speak.
Why do so much when it’s easier to slap a still image over un-transcribed audio and call it a day? Sure would accomplish the same thing. I should be a corporate board member with an inflated salary so I can finally eat something outside of popcorn.
AS FOR OTHER CHARACTERS, aside from the one guy that’s still being revised (despite existing before Nyoka), the list will probably remain small 😩 I only really make characters if there’s a story I really wanna see (I mean no one else except @/oddberryshortcake the lorekeeper will see them, but still.)
still thank u for being proud of me let’s hope i don’t mess it up 💃

Can I request for a yan kuroo reacts if his feelings aren’t returned? Like darling isn’t rlly interesting or has some third senses telling them smt ain’t right. Also for any matchups how long should the request be? I kinda want a matchup too but i feel it might be too long (ㄒoㄒ)
i love tetsu so so much, but he’s literally sex on legs HAHA! he’s so unbelievably handsome i’m about to act up for him!
how would yandere!kuroo react if his feelings are one-sided?

honestly, i feel that yandere!kuroo would is a bit difficult to read, but i think he would be pretty smart in handling this ordeal.
i mean, this man is a chemistry nerd and the captain of one of the top volleyball teams in tokyo, he’s got to be at least a teeny bit people-smart, you know?
you would never understand kuroo’s feelings, that’s for sure. his face is always in a resting smirk so it seems that he doesn’t have a caring attitude, instead is a pompous and arrogant boy. you’re only partly right.
i feel that yandere!kuroo would lean towards being a narcissist (although oikawa would be more extreme) so he would be emotionally manipulative.
ultimately, you would be his darling through his sugar-coated words and empty promises.
but as for you personally, something would feel off about kuroo and your gut feelings just aren’t into him all that much because of how nonchalant he seems.
tetsurou would definitely catch on pretty quickly because he’s not stupid nor delusional; he knows how hesitant you were about accepting his feelings for you and he understands that you weren’t going to be obedient for him in any sort of way. this applies if you were to reject him directly, although he would be a bit more bitter towards you at first before concluding that you didn’t know any better.
contrast to yandere!nishinoya, kuroo would want someone completely obedient. it would fuel his ego greatly so when you begin to teeter away from kuroo’s grip on your wrist, he would already begin devising a plan to get you to stay despite the circumstances.
he would work on trying to have the school or surrounding people pity him. whether it’s anonymously spreading rumors or going as far as ruining your resume, kuroo will make it absolutely impossible for your social life to thrive.
statements such as “oh, tetsurou, i don’t understand how you can handle such a trash dump like y/n,” or “you’re an absolute saint for dating y/n, did you hear she just did _____?” are overwhelmingly common. and much to your dismay, kuroo secretly enjoys having so much positive attention on him that he may continue his plan.
kuroo’s scheme is to taint your reputation so much that your only cornerstone would be him and him alone. with a mighty hand, kuroo will act like your hero and will begin manipulating you with his cunning ways.
he won’t take away your freedom completely at first, but rather infiltrating your mind that you aren’t wanted in society so that you are totally dependent on him.
perhaps it wouldn’t seem effective at first, but this would slowly change your mind about kuroo (his plan) and all of a sudden, staying in the house knitting or drinking matcha with him in his grandparents’ tea room couldn’t be any worse than the glares you received left and right in the outside world.
it’s a very “trust the process” plan and kuroo has every intention to break you down so he can mold you into his helpless lover. at this point, your mind wouldn’t even be able to distinguish people’s emotions because of how hurt you are (from friends, family, co-workers, classmates, basically everyone in your life) so kuroo knows you will run to him for comfort and solace.
you will basically run to him whenever you need someone to rely on, out of your own will too (according to him)! such a perfect plan for the love of his life!
within a few years, kuroo has himself a lovely, obedient darling, fulfilling all of his dreams and fantasies and he didn’t even have to lay a finger! well, at least not physically...

hope you liked this! also for my matchup rules, i will put in more detail but for now, i think about 1 to 2 asks (please number them, for example :1/2, 2/2, etc. ) is a good number but if you think it’s too long to put in asks, feel free to message my main blog @dreamyjaems and i will answer privately there!
much love,
celeste <3

I have to begin this column by admitting that “Biden” (note: when in quotation marks, I refer to the “collective Biden”, not the clearly senile man) surprised me: it appears that my personal rule-of-thumb about US Presidents (each one is even worse than his predecessor) might not necessarily apply in “Biden’s” case. That is not to say that “Biden” won’t end up proving my rule of thumb as still applicable, just that what I am seeing right now is not what I feared or expected.
…
I think that both of these grossly oversimplify a probably much more complex and nuanced reality. In other words, “Biden” surprised many, if not most, Russians. That is very interesting by itself (neither Bush, nor Obama nor Trump ever surprised the Russians – who knew the score about all of them – in any meaningful way).
My strictly personal guess is that there is some very serious infighting currently taking place inside the US ruling class. Furthermore, that serious infighting is not about core principles or even strategy – it is a dispute over tactics only.
We have to keep in mind an old truism about outcomes: John F. Kennedy once said that “victory has a hundred fathers, but defeat is an orphan” and he was right. When any group seizes power and effectively controls its interests, all is well, and everybody is busy consuming the proverbial milk and honey. But when this group suffers a series of humiliating defeats, a typical cascade of events begins:
Finger pointing: everybody blames everybody else (but never himself/herself)
Hindsight wisdom: “if I had been in charge, this would not have happened!”
Infighting over quickly shrinking spoils of war
A collapse of the centralized center of authority/decision-making centers
Generation of subgroups, fighting each other over their sub-interests
In other words, following many years of extremely weak presidential administrations (since Clinton, imho), it is hardly a surprise that infighting would take place (in both parties, by the way). In fact, an apparently chaotic set of uncoordinated, or even contradictory, policies is what one should expect. And that is exactly what we have been observing since 1993 and this dynamic has been getting worse and worse with each passing year).
…
That being said, there are some observations which might be helpful when trying to at least (indirectly) identify who are the main groups fighting each other.
The hardcore, really nutty, russophobes are still here, especially in the US media which seems to be serving not so much “Biden” as much as some “crazies in the basement” kind of cabal. Next to the legacy ziomedia, there is an increasing number of US/NATO/UK military officials who are foaming at the mouth with threats, warnings, complaints and insults, all against Putin and Russia. This is important because:
The “Zone A” media has comprehensively and very effectively concealed the very real risks of war with Russia, China and Iran. And if this was mentioned, the presstitutes always stressed that the US has the “best military in the history of the galaxy” and that Uncle Sam will “kickass” anybody he chooses to. If the people of the USA were informed of the truth of the matter, they would freak out and demand that this path to war be immediately abandoned and replaced with a meaningful dialog.
US/NATO/UK authorities have talked themselves into a corner where they have only two outcomes left: they can do what the US always does, that is to “declare victory and leave”, or they can force Russia to protect her borders on land, air and sea and, thereby, face a major military humiliation delivered by Russia.
Truth be told, during the recent naval exercises UK and US officials made a lot of threats and promises to ignore Russian warnings, but in the end, they quietly packed and left. Smart choice, but it must have been painfully humiliating for them, which is very dangerous by itself.
…
There will be many more NATO exercises in the Black Sea in the future. Ditto for USN operations off the Chinese, Iranian or DPRK coasts. This (always explosive) combo of ignorance, arrogance and incompetence could result in a major war.
LAnother option is the terminally delusional UK government (supported by those Brits who still have phantom pains about their lost empire and, of course, by the largely irrelevant 3B+PU gang) might do something really stupid (say, like this) and trigger a war with the DPRK, Russia, China or Iran and then the US would have to move to defend/save a British Navy which is mostly a joke (at least by Russian or Chinese standards). The main problem here being that the USN is also in a terrible shape and cannot compete against Russian and Chinese standoff weapons (I mean that literally, there are currently no defenses against maneuvering hypersonic missiles! The only exception would be the Russian S-500). The latter two nations, by the way, have joined into an informal and unofficial military alliance for many years already; check out this article and video or this one for a recent update).
But opposite, de-escalatory developments are also taking place. First and foremost, “Biden” seemed to have “farmed out” the “Ukrainian dossier” to the Germans and washed Uncle Shmuel’s hands from it. If so, that was a very slick and smart move (which is something we have not witnessed from any administration in decades!). I highly recommend this translation of a most interesting article by arguably the best Ukraine specialist out there, Rostislav Ishchenko.
Ishchenko goes into a lot of interesting details and explains what “Biden” apparently just did. Frankly, the Germans richly deserve this full-spectrum mess and they will be dealing with the consequences of this disaster for a long time, possibly decades. In fact, the Germans are stuck: they want to be the Big European Leader? Let them. After all, the EU politicians, led by Germany, did all they could to create what is now often called “country 404” – a black hole in the heart of the European continent. Germany is the biggest economic power of the EU? Good, then let the Germans (and the rest of the EU) pay for the eventual reconstruction of the Ukraine (or of the successor-states resulting from the breakup of the country)! Russia simply cannot foot that bill, China most definitely won’t (especially after being cheated several times by the Ukies) and the USA has absolutely no reasons whatsoever to do so. I would even argue that chaos (social, economic, political, cultural. etc.) in Europe is probably seen by the US ruling class as highly desirable since it 1) weakens the EU as a competitor 2) justifies, however hypocritically and mistakenly, a “strong US presence” in Europe and 3) gives NATO a reason (however mistaken, misguided and even immoral) to exist
The US is protected from the fallout (immigrants, violence, extremism, etc.) of the Ukrainian disaster by distance, the Atlantic, a much stronger military (at least compared to anybody else in NATO). The US can print money in any way it wants and has no interests whatsoever in the (dying) Ukraine. If Ishchenko is right, and I agree with him, then there is somebody (possibly a group of somebodies) who is a lot smarter than anybody in the Trump Admin and who figured out that the Nazi-occuppied Ukraine should be an German/EU problem, not one for the US.
There is, of course, also the pessimistic analysis: the US is on the retreat everywhere, but only for the following reasons:
Regroup, reorganize, buy time to develop some kind of coherent strategy
Focus on each adversary separately and prioritize (divide et impera at least!)
Re-analyze, re-plan, re-design, re-develop, re-train, re-equip and re-test pretty much everything in the US armed forces (which have not been shaped by any rational force planning in decades)
Those who believe the strategic retreat theory (I am not personally discounting this version, but I do not see enough evidence – yet – to endorse it either) typically add that “the US only left Afghanistan to hand it over to the Taliban/al-Qaeda and unleash them against “soft underbelly of Russia”. Now, that is utter nonsense, if only because Russia does not have a common border with Afghanistan.
…
Coming back to “Biden’s” great retreat: if “Biden” is smart enough to hang the Ukraine on Germany, “he” is probably too smart to predicate the US foreign policy towards Russia predicated around the “soft underbelly” thingie. As for all the “fire and brimstone” threats of war against Russia, they are not impressing anybody as the Russians, the Chinese and the Iranians know that a confident and powerful country does not need to threaten anybody, if only because the actual capabilities of these country are a very telling “threat” by themselves. But when a former superpower is weak, confused and frightened, it will make many roaring statements about how it can defeat the entire planet if needed (after all, the US military is “the best military in the history of the galaxy”! If you doubt that, just listen to Toby Keith!). In other words, while in the West threats are an instrument of foreign policy, in Russia, and in the rest of Asia, they are inevitably seen as a sign of weakness, doubts and even fear.
Then there seems to be a long list of weapons systems, procurement plans and “defense” monies which have been pulled back, including the (truly awful) LCS and F-35. While it is true that the US is gradually phasing out fantastically expensive weapons systems and platforms which were also more or less useless, this show the ability to at least admit that all that talk about super-dooper US superweapons was just that, talk, and that in reality the US MIC is incapable of producing the kind of superb high quality systems which it used to produce in large quantities in the past (Arleigh Burke, F-15, Jumbo 747, the Willys Jeep, F-16, A-10, Los Angeles SSN, KH satellites, etc.). This is why the F-15X is designed to “augment” the F-35 feet (by itself a very smart move!).
Such an admission, even if indirect and only logically implied, might show a level of maturity, or courage, by “Biden” which his predecessors did not have.
Could it be that the folks at the Pentagon, who do know the reality of the situation (see here for a very good Moon of Alabama article about this), figured out that Clinton, Bush, Obama and Trump vastly over extended the Empire and now they need to regroup and “re-everything” to achieve a more sustainable “defense” posture?
Could it be that “Biden” will deliver what Trump promised, i.e. to end the useless (and unwinnable!) wars, stop caring too much about the agonizing EU, silently accept that Russia has no intentions (and no need!) whatsoever to attack anyone and focus on the biggest non-military threat out there: China. Maybe.
As far as I know, many (all?) simulations – by RAND and the US military – and command staff exercises have shown that the US would lose badly to both Russia or China. Could it be that “Biden” wants to put Russia and China on the backburner and “deal” with Iran first? The latest news on the US/Israel vs Iran front is not good, to say the least.
…
So what are we left with?
Frankly, I am not sure.
I think that there is very strong, even if only indirect, evidence which there is some very serious in-fighting taking place in the “Biden” administration and there is also strong, but also indirect, evidence that the military posture of the United States is undergoing what might end up being a major overhaul of the US armed forces.
If true, and that is a big “if”, this is neither good news nor bad news.
But this might be big news.
Why?
Because, objectively, the current US retreat on most fronts might be the “soft landing” (transition from Empire to “normal” country) many Trump voters were hoping for. Or it might not. If it is not, this might be a chaos-induced retreat, indicating that the US state is crumbling and has to urgently “simplify” things to try to survive, thereby generating a lot of factional infighting (at least one Russian observer specialized in “US studies”, Dmitrii Drobnitskii, believes to be the case: see the original article here, and its machine translation here). Finally, the state of decay of the US state might already be so advanced that we can consider it as profoundly dysfunctional and basically collapsing/collapsed. The first option (soft landing) is unlikely, yet highly desirable. The second option (chaos-induced retreat) is more likely, but much less desirable as it is only a single step back to then make several steps forward again. The last option (profoundly dysfunctional and basically collapsing/collapsed) is, alas, the most likely, and it is also, by far, the most perilous one.
For one thing, options #2 and #3 will make US actions very unpredictable and, therefore, potentially extremely dangerous. Unpredictable chaos can also quickly morph into a major war, or even several major ones, so the potential danger here is very real (even if totally unreported in Zone A). This, in turn, means that Russia, China, Iran, the DPRK, Venezuela or Cuba all have to keep their guard up and be ready for anything, even the unthinkable (which is often what total chaos generates).
Right now, the fact that the US has initiated a “great retreat” is undeniable. But the true reasons behind it, and its implications, remain quite obscure, at least to me.
I will conclude by asking you, the readers, for your opinion: do you think that the US is currently in a “contraction phase”? If yes, do you believe that this is a short-term only phenomenon, or will this retreat continue and, if yes, how far?

Extremes meet.
Shiva roams The Void quietly as it remains to be an icy landscape of freezing marsh. She’s rather bored, dangerously bored. The glimpse of two people armed in a tree catches her attention. The only two people crazy enough to approach her.
Shiva:Halt! Friend or foe? Hehe, kidding, since when do I have friends?
Jacquelyn:You have overstayed your welcome. Please leave quietly.
Carmine:Or not. I can use the exercise.
Shiva:Leave? I just got here and been trying to enjoy the masses. Well, when they ask questions that is. A girl like me expected a mountain of them.
Carmine:Nobody likes you.
Shiva:...Are you a man?
Carmine:W..wha-
Shiva:Because you got a real pair on you to casually speak to me. Then again I’ve been bored out of my mind so your arrogance is pretty refreshing. Feisty, aren’t ya?
Carmine:It’s called confidence.
Shiva:That’s just another word for delusional. So, are we just gonna talk? Going quietly was never an option. Be warned you two. I’m very amazed, the best you’ll ever see. You’ll die if you’re all talk.
Jacquelyn:Death doesn’t exist here.
Shiva:Oh but pain does. The kind that seeps into your bones and makes it ache. Like the way I can tell your hands are suffering, right.
Jacquelyn:Nothing I can’t handle with a little fire.
Shiva:Hmph. *looks at Carmine* Did you know scar tissue is more sensitive then regular tissue cells and skin cells?
Carmine:Is that your cute way of telling me you’re gonna slash my back?
Shiva:At least that Brain is clever, even if it is a little delusional.
Carmine:It also knows you’re in over your head.
Shiva smiles, rolling her eyes in the process at the statement. Her hands lift Summer’s shirt to reveal her scared torso to the women. The tip of Shiva’s pointer finger hardens ice that was in the air, then runs it along the exposed flesh. Shimmering blue blood begins to leak out of her body before the cut automatically healed itself. The blood froze within seconds, flaking away into the wind.
Jacquelyn:(That healing rate is nothing to snuff at.)
Carmine:Scare tactic?
Shiva:I’m just being fair. Don’t wanna hear any complaints. By the way, I think you’re the last person who wants any of this. Your best chance is probably that huge blade your lugging around, but you gotta get close. Sure you have a scythe but...I doubt you’re as good as your mother with it.
Carmine gritted her teeth and jumped off the tree. She didn’t get far before Jacquelyn grabbed her by the scarf and yanked her back onto the branch.
Jacquelyn:Hey! Ever heard of baiting!? If you’re this easy to temper then I’m shocked you’re alive in the first place.
Carmine:What’s a maiden scared of!? She’s out numbered and out skilled.
Shiva:She’s right. Ice versus everything else? Clearly your options are vast and varied. Put me in my place. I can’t kill you.
Jacquelyn:Despite my title and heritage, I’m not a fan of the cold. Getting frozen the moment we touch the ways doesn’t appeal to me.
Shiva:Hahaha is that your fear? Don’t be scared of the water hahaha! Fear me in general. The air, ground, long range, close, I could hit you right now. Tell you what, three attacks is all I need to get my point across. After that, decide how badly you want me gone.
Carmine:Only three?
Jacquelyn:Car-
Carmine:Believe me Jacquelyn, I know already.
Shiva pivots her left foot forward and a trail of ice races over the wetlands up the tree, encasing it in ice. Both Jacquelyn and Carmine jumped in opposite directions off of it in time. Shiva shifted her glance towards Jacquelyn. The maiden’s eyes glew intensely as she channeled flames between her hands, then launched a continuous blast at Shiva postition. Shiva couldn’t help but stand perfectly still as the fire rushed over her body. “Really? This is heat to you? In this weather?” Shiva blew her breath as if she wanted a burning candle silenced.
The breath cut right through the flames, freezings them and hitting Jacquelyn in the chest like an air canon; sending her flying backwards into the trees. Shiva turned to Carmine to see what the girl could possibly try. Unfortunately, it was a boring direct attack from midair. A blade swung horizontally at Shiva’s torso. Mixtures of slush and ice shot up from the ground to make a thick pillar of frozen defense. “Careful, that construct is harder than Atlas steel-” the blade cleaved right through the pillar like plywood. The attack continued on course, forcing Shiva to raise her right hand and catch the blade.
“With her hand!?” Carmine gasped. The ice went up Stamen and forced her to let go. Sadly, it meant her feet fell into the water. Her body had no chance to move before it was encased in ice up to her neck. Heat escaped her body by the second. Her skin, rapidly turning blue and burning worse than any flame ever could. Carmine couldn’t say a thing. All she could do is shiver violently.
Shiva shook her head, disappointed. “Well that didn’t take long but I suppose I didn’t keep my word. That was four moves instead of three.” She could see Carmine’s eyes widen and lose focus. “Going into shock? Maybe I should’ve told you temperatures like these, yeah it guarantees your aura is basically shit.” Her hand rubbed gently against Carmine’s face in integument. “Such a pretty color. Fun fact, the idea of cold doesn’t actually exist from a certain scientific point. The robot told me that. Atoms and molecules, there movement is determined by the amount of energy they have, or ‘heat.’ Touching ice is just those molecules taking the energy from your hand and adding it to the ice so they can move faster; making your molecules move slower. Cold is simply the absence of heat. Weird right? Just like how the color blue on a spectrum is hotter then red, yet people use to represent cooler things. You don’t hear any of this, do you?”
Carmine remained immobile. Still as a sculptor. It was only when Shiva pressed against Carmine’s face harder that it shattered into frozen roses. A very interesting surprise to say the least. Shiva turned back around to check Jacquelyn’s position. Also gone.
Shiva:Well well well, I guess I should’ve assumed as much. Fire to gain my attention. A clone to keep it later on. Ran away squeaky clean. Oh well... it was fun while it lasted.
xxxx
Jacquelyn:I’m shocked. I thought you were actually gonna fight her.
Carmine:I considered it. Apparently the power scale between worlds isn’t one to one. A world with constant magic, how irritating.
Jacquelyn:Maybe she’s just too much for you to handle? Though I’m sure her environment, the marsh and universe play a role in her power.
Carmine:I meant the body. It’s Summer’s. I didn’t realize how much it’s been through. Immense cold and clear physical damage from multiple points of entry at once. If I had that amount of abuse put on me, I think I’d just die instantly. Durable girl. Then I fought Nick and he took my hits like a champ, despite being by junior by nearly two years and far less experience. That world is just freaky. I don’t like it.
Jacquelyn:Imagine of that applies to your world. You’d be extra insane.
Carmine:...I wouldn’t be the one. So would...
Jacquelyn:Hmm?
Carmine:Nothing. It doesn’t matter anyways.

Your military based OCs inspire me to want to make one, but I'm nervous about that kind of stuff being inaccurate about facts D: How do you do it?
Hello!!Oh man, thank yoU ❤️. And YES, join the heist!I will put it under read more; since I wanna answer your question best to my ability, a.k.a extensively.
OKAY, SO, to answer your question: I’d gone through the same ordeal and it can be a struggle. I didn’t know much about the military except for the scarce tidbits you can find online, but, there are few ways you can educate yourself in that aspect:First of all, the very basics. What nationality your OC is, where will they serve, what were they like growing up and what made them join, etc; it might seem trivial at first, but trust me, it’s important. What I suggest doing is, if your OC happens to be, say, British, you can search up reputable British authors (preferably former soldiers or SoO) and pick books specifically describing combat maneuvers. Keep in mind, however, that those are largely made up scenarios inspired by real events; still, they provide valuable insight as to how specific groups operate (a bit of a hit or miss that one, but it’s better than nothing). Then there are authors, who, given their broad knowledge and experience, pile it all up and provide you a guide of sorts. Usually, there’s a thorough description of the inner structure, chain of command, the history behind the unit and the reason for its formation, preferred weapons and equipment, the selection process, and so on. I find these to be immeasurably valuable, especially once you are satisfied with your initial draft. Therefore; if you have an idea already in mind, go with it and then search up the bits and pieces of information online before you supplement it with additional literature. If you want to come up with a soldier from the eastern part of Europe, books detailing the Russian army will do for the most part (the post-soviet countries that is; the military structure’s been largely untouched since that period). The writers/titles I can suggest on top of my mind are:Supervivencia - “CCCP Red Army Special Forces Spetsnaz”Viktor Suvorov - “Spetsnaz”Mark Galeotti - “Spetsnaz - Russia’s Special Forces”William H. Burgess - “Inside Spetsnaz: Soviet Special Operations”For British SAS, I’ve found John Wiseman’s “The SAS Survival Handbook” to be of great use (he has a really extensive bibliography for that very purpose tbf)If we’re talking about hired guns, a.k.a Soldiers of Fortune and all corporate manners of mercs, my two hot takes:Peter W. Singer - “The Private Military Industry and Iraq: What have we learned and where to next?”Christop Kinsey - “Corporate Soldiers and International Security, The Rise of Private Military Companies (2006)”The third option, which can be either a very frustrating experience or a goldmine; join forums where retired soldiers and vets offer their fair share of experience. If you do, keep in mind that people who join these are folks aspiring to become recruits one day; so having me prep a thread in there and explain as to why I did was met with various reactions at the time. Few members seemed weirded out, while others were delighted to see I wanted to be precise in my fiction and were very eager to help. I have compiled a massive doc for personal use thanks to’em, and the experience altogether was very satisfying; everyone was super kind and pleasant to deal with. Lastly; I can offer a bit of a small trivia that might help get you started:- There is a cultural gap between East and West, and that, too, affects the military structure and people’s view on it. I find West to be extremely formal, as they treat the army as a separate way of life. It’s a completely different take in the East; the army is actually viewed favorably upon (same applies to Poland, though we’re right in the center we used to be part of the Soviet Union. You could say we have this weird mixture of both mindsets intertwined together).
Oddly enough, this also seems to affect how the soldiers themselves tend to behave? It’s a weird statement, I know, but I happen to see Russian/Ukrainian/Polish soldiers much more easy-going and open to discuss the cons and pros behind their job. Westerners usually skip the subject altogether or give very vague answers (especially if they’re part SoF)- Not every special force soldier is a black belt.CQC (Close Quarter Combat) adds up to around 25-36 hours per the whole training course, therefore it boils down to pure essentials and bare grind. Soldiers are taught how to tackle down their opponent quickly and efficiently; it’s all about speed. There’s no such thing as self-defense techniques; that’s the kind of unrealistic horseshit you get from Hollywood movies. Additionally, there are no secret techniques regarding hand-to-hand combat. Krav Maga, despite the popular opinion, is not that special. It’s neither good nor bad, but nothing sets it apart. If you happen to get a hold of a SoF, they will admit that the best techniques stem from… MMA.
I’m dead serious; hear me out.MMA, in all fairness, is a system that compiles the best moves of all available techniques out there. A combination of MMA and BJJ (especially the latter) seems to be favored by a wide variety of Western forces due to its effectiveness. As far as you are concerned, you want to tackle your opponent down the moment you see them (speaking strictly of unarmed combat) - render them vulnerable. For some cool trivia; look up the involvement of Gracie Brothers and Delta Force (and the logos for both; Delta Operators and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu School )Keeping that in mind, it’s worth noting that CQC can be referred to combat that takes place at 100 meters or less; so gunfights are in!- Special Operation Forces are very, VERY quirky people! I noticed everyone has this belief that operators tend to be serious, no-nonsense people that fear nothing and no one.Let me tell you, that’s an exaggerated statement. During my time at the forums, I’ve met a handful of people that claimed to be SoF and few even provided actual proof. Regardless, some of them asked me very throughout questions about the nature of my fic (good morning I want to RP a realistic soldier, huge fan thanx) and apologized in advance in case I found all the attention overwhelming. I asked whether or not a trait like that is common amongst their colleagues, to which they replied that it depends on the person more or less, but it’s not an isolated occurrence! Normally you want to figure out your surroundings and adjust well enough, adapt so to speak; if you can learn something new, they’re all in for it - it may come in handy sooner or later. And they really do grasp stuff quick, fuck me.In general, they are polite, quiet and laid back people. There were one or two cases of somewhat “arrogant” fellows I’ve had to deal with, but it was nothing too drastic IMO.- Soldiers who claim to fear nothing and no one. Doesn’t happen; unrealistic af. In fact, there was this one interview, where a Blackwater executive admitted to having turned down so many potential employees exactly because of that. A man who thinks himself fearless is not only delusional but becomes a liability to himself and his own unit. In fact, most recruitment officers are in favor of hiring already married soldiers; these men will always take fewer risks and make for a more compelling fighting force in the end.- Whether an ordinary ground troop or all-out skilled SoF, no man can singlehandedly cause havoc or prevent it. Another Hollywood trope so to speak; one-man army. It simply doesn’t happen.
-RPing/writing about soldiers includes, besides occasional gunfights, figuring out basic medical terminology and educating yourself about respective procedures for each sustained injury.- SoF soldiers usually excel at two roles; a single special forces operator can be both a remarkable marksman and a field medic.- Humor is essential - it helps elevate pressure in between skirmishes.
- PTSD doesn’t always boil down to sheer anxiety and sleep insomnia. A PTSD can well enough turn into an OCD of sorts; looking out of a window for hours on end despite having no reason to do so, counting your possessions, hoarding objects of no importance. It can be very personal or right at your face- Some individuals find themselves unable to retire early; the bond between them and their unit, the belief of doing something good (or of putting themselves to better use out there) and constant adrenaline rush are too appealing of an option to refuse. IMO it’s completely normal if you consider the following: those people had worked together for a couple of months and under extremely hazardous circumstances.
Danger brings people together, it’s only natural; all of you want to survive and help one another while doing so, having formed a prior bond.
All in all, everyone’s different and everything can influence your OC’s choices and decisions, hence why I feel having come up with their backstory, such as nationality and alike, shortens the process significantly; you know where to look at and for what.
Hope you’ve found my lil wall of text useful! In case you’re in need of literature for that exact purpose, feel free to shoot me a message!

Triumph’s Tribulations Chapter Four (Mostly work safe?)
It’s work safe, except Lezard still has a vibe there that might be troublesome or triggering to some. Still no sign of anything sexual outright happening to ANY of the characters. :p
It was insanity at it’s worst, that flimsy grasp for reassurance not able to bury the thinly veiled menace of his words. The intention that was both a threat and a promise, that warped feeling not so much love OR lust, but instead this overpowering desire to dominate. That twisted need inside him, it was to Creation’s misfortune that there was only one heart that this man sought to possess. That it beat with unease within her was an unfortunate fact, Lenneth feeling those flickers of fear turn to outright panic, the woman unable to stop, heedless of the way those thick vines bit into her very skin, the Goddess desperate to free herself.
“No….No….” It was a cadence meant to be soothing, the expressed concern something that could not reach through to her. Lenneth fought against her restraints, that blind panic resulting in bruises, more of her cracked armor fracturing apart, to reveal the plain white dress worn beneath it. She was being stripped of all her defenses in the moment, her sword already lost gone, her strength in it’s last faded reserves and the gear that had shielded her, bit by bit eroded away by this world. By its efforts to deliver her to him.
Trussed up all tight and secure, the Goddess could only bite back a whimper, this world’s attempts neither subtle nor kind. This mindless entity that was Lezard’s attempt at Creation, was a beast that could not be reasoned with, no matter what Lenneth tried. She couldn’t understand it, not this world, and not her own lack of ability, this tired deity unable to reach within for a power that should have been there. A Creator in her own right, combating this place and its maker shouldn’t have been that difficult, and certainly not to this extreme!
Bruised and battered by this world, by its attempts to subdue her, the tired Goddess had been challenged in a way she hadn’t thought possible. Had it been HER arrogance that had led to such overconfidence? Had she let it blind her to the point she had not only misjudged the situation but Lezard, of just what he was capable of, the man not only grasping hold of the power of God, but fast understanding just how to use and manipulate it against her?
It was insane all the same, Lenneth understanding that even with Odin’s stolen power inside him, Lezard at best should have been her equal, and not her better.
“How...” Her pride made her bite her tongue, Lenneth unable to admit to the weakness, nor to acknowledge out loud to him the confusion it caused her. Why couldn’t she make this place heel, why did even these vines, thick though they were, refuse to give way, this world and it’s oddities, refusing to acknowledge the power inherited inside her?
She hadn’t a clue, her frustrations added to the panic experienced. That wild fear, and her lack of true knowledge, made Lenneth feel more and more like the sixth level Goddess she had once been, and not the Ruler of Creation that she had in fact become.
Vision full of the man, the usurper before her, Lenneth tried to mask the shaking that her body was doing, with those continued efforts to break free.
“You are HURTING yourself with that effort.” He was frowning at her, the chiding tsk of his voice much like an exasperated parent to a child. “Lenneth...”
“The only one hurting me is YOU!” She shot back, and the trembles vibrated through her, making the vines rattle in response. “Damn you, stop this!”
“This world is only reinstating a simple but undeniable fact.” He was drifting within reach of her, an already wary Goddess on high alert for another of the God’s attempt to steal from her. What form would it take this time? A touch of her hair, her cheek? Or would his daring make him bolder, a kiss or worse forced on her?
“You are MINE.” There was a finality to that statement, a knowing grimness that birth forth new dread within the pit of her stomach. “Now and forever.” added Lezard, reaching an eager hand towards her. The vines tightened even further, trying to hold Lenneth absolutely still for their master, and it was either give in or be hurt, and already she was finding it difficult to breathe.
“Never.” She managed to gasp it out, even with the vines squeezing her in place. “I’ll never be yours!”
“You’ve not fallen enough if you can still cling to that belief.” Lezard was calm as he answered, those fingers of his caressing over the vines rather than touch on Lenneth directly. That thick green foliage practically rippled in response, the world itself pleased by its’ Lord’s attention. It made Lenneth shake with revulsion, those ripples that weren’t outright unpleasant, the vines heeding some unspoken command to loosen its strangle hold upon her.
“It does beg the question though...” Continued Lezard in that calm tone. “What will be that final push, that breaking point, that gets you to accept the inevitable...”
“Nothing. Absolutely nothing.” spat Lenneth. “So long as that inevitable’s outcome is an eternity spent with YOU.”
“You say that now...” cautioned Lezard. “When your strength has not yet been completely exhausted. You’ll sing a different tune when it and all your hope, your delusions of escape have been abandoned.”
“YOU are the delusional one!” Lenneth shook her head no, the vines quivering as though in warning. “Always and forever, you are MAD, that sickness inside you trying to warp everything around you.” She felt the fierceness of her words, of her belief, translate into the expression of her face, Lenneth’s eyes flashing with a glare, her lips twisted with that snarl. “Love itself is not a sin, but what you do in the name of it IS! You blasphemy against that emotion as much as you do against God!”
“Then let my soul be blackened with the sin of loving you.” His hand lifted up from the vine, the leather texture of his glove suddenly on her cheek. She tried to throw it off, but the vine’s reaction was immediate, tightening to the point she could no longer move. It couldn’t stop her from glaring, anymore than she could keep him from emitting that crazed sounding laughter.
“Lenneth, ah Lenneth...” Again that chiding tone, amusement glinting in those dark eyes of his. “What exactly is the objection? The thought of being dominated so thoroughly by the one who has always been the most devoted to you? Or is it the fact that I was once the man, the being, you thought so beneath you?” He leaned into her, breathed in deeply of that scent and fear, while wearing that odd smile on his face. “You thought me lower than a snake...not worth the time nor the effort to put down. A mistake yes, but not the worst you’ve ever made.”
“What do you mean by THAT?”
A casual shrug of his shoulders, the laughter in his eyes giving way to a barely suppressed anger. “I’m not the first human to sin in the name of loving you.”
She almost said the name then, almost cried out in protest, thoughts of Lucian filling her head. Of the earnest blue of his eyes, the lopsided grin, a love inside him that had never died, that had followed him to the grave and beyond. Such a love that had wrought its own heartache and devastation, a world destroyed, and still she had forgiven him.
“He acted without true knowledge.”
“His ignorance is no excuse. He let himself be used, manipulated, for his own selfish desires.” Lezard drew an exaggerated breath.”Ah but you mean to tell me that it is somehow different? When both outcomes are the same? In that we are no different...”
“You are nothing like him!” protested Lenneth.
“I’m BETTER.” Lezard countered with a smirk. “In every sense of it, and do you know why? Hmm, Lenneth? Can you possibly guess? It is because, when I act out of love, it is for the woman before me, and not the memory of a love, a life lost.”
“He didn’t see you for you...Lenneth, he didn’t love you, but instead loved the person he thought he could make you be! That child, that one life in a string of hosts that housed you for a good millennia.” His lip curled then. “Did it make you happy to be called by her name? To be the ghost given flesh for his desires?”
Her hesitation in answering was telling to them both, Lezard the voice that spoke of the uncertainties that had only whispered faintly inside her. It had never sat well with her, the name and Lucian’s insistence, and yet Lenneth had tried to look past that stubborn cleaving that they had both done to the child. A girl name Platina, who had lived and died a tragic life, whose chance for more had been stolen the moment Odin had had need of the Goddess who had slumbered within her.
They weren’t the same. Lenneth knew that, she and Platina both their own separate entities. But the feelings were there, the memories of that 14 year short life, and all of the other hosts before it, every last one that Lenneth had slumbered through helping to shape the Goddess’ humanity. Her kindness and caring, her sympathy and her empathy, those very feelings that the Gods had tried to seal away, Odin himself having deemed it too dangerous for any of the three who governed over fate to retain. He hadn’t been able to outright destroy those memories, but the God had been able to make them forget. Both Lenneth and Hrist, and Odin would have done the same to Silmeria had the youngest of the Valkyries remained in his control.
Those slivers of human empathy had been seen as a curse, a poison infesting those Odin would have remained his loyal dogs. Judge, jury, and executioner, Odin had twisted the express purpose of the three Goddesses whose right it was to govern over fate in order to seize a ruthless, total control over Creation. The God Odin had abused all, every last law and sanction, manipulating souls, pitting entire realms against one another, all for his own warped amusement.
He had been a tyrant left unchecked, a pitiless God who had cared only for more and more power, and the means to wield it. Lezard wasn’t much better, his concern not for the world and its people, but for what his own selfish heart desired. It made Lenneth all the more desperate, not for herself, but for Creation, for the many who existed within it’s nine realms. Both the present and the future, Lezard’s actions of the past in danger of destroying it all, lives lost to the chaos of a God who cared even less than Odin had.
There wasn’t time enough to argue with him in full, nor did Lenneth have any true desire to, her desperation and despair making her ignore his taunts. His insipid mockery, his blunt insinuations that what she had had with Lucian wasn’t in any way real. The Goddess had turned inward, trying to gather the power that drifted just out of her reach, as she again gave an impressive heave of her arms and that of her legs.
Her restraints immediately went to tighten, those vines an extension of this worlds’ whims, and though Lenneth could reason with neither, she could however make her point. In a fit that was more than just desperate, it was determined, Lenneth feeling the protesting whine of the world as the green shackling her to the column gave way.
As she bodily tore free of it, Lenneth’s fist found its way to Lezard’s jaw. Its’ violent impact had his face turning, a breath blowing out of him, the man made momentarily staggered by the attack. She wanted to follow it up with more violence, but there was a stronger instinct screaming inside her, that need pushing her legs to run from and not to her tormentor.
With every step away from him that she took, the ground itself rumbled, the marble of this place’s floor turning jagged and ripping apart. It was his world at work again, and it was a Creation that was made angry by Lenneth’s insolence.
Every step was made to be a struggle, things grabbing at her, the marble beneath her running feet crumbling apart. Lezard himself had taken to the air, laughing wildly as he floated about, yet another verbal jab offered her in the most silken of tones.
“The truth hurts, doesn’t it, Lenneth…?!” A downright euphoric sound from him, the man purring. “Just keep on trying to delude yourself about Lucian and his true feelings for you for as long as you can. It won’t make the pain any less, none of YOUR lies will!”
Those words pierced their way inside her to find and strike at her heart, Lenneth’s foot then slipping, casting her down into the cavernous hole that the world had torn open before her. It was darker than anything she had ever before born witness to, Lenneth free falling through an inky blackness that had filtered away all light and warmth and even that of sound. Not even Lezard’s mad laughter could reach her here, though the memory of his words, that taunting insinuation stayed with her.

The Heavens continued its’ upheaval, violated by the ever worsening tremors and the darkening blight upon its skies. They had been without sun for days, a cold frost in the air that had helped to freeze and destroy all of the floral and fauna that had lent Asgard its’ unparalleled beauty. It was still a sight to behold, but not for any of the famed shining magnificence it had once retained, this realm dying a slow, torturous death. Not even the Gods as they were had the power to stop it, Yggsdrasil in too steady a decline, carrying with it the nine realms utter destruction upon it’s withering limbs and roots.
She could only stare out in helpless fury, watching as the decay continued it’s spread. Would Asgard be the first of the nine realms to fall? Would anything, anyone, stand a chance of surviving then? Freya had no answers, just more and more questions and that desperate feeling.
She didn’t like that panic inside her. That unwanted feeling had no right to the familiarity with which it assaulted her with, that terror alight in her blood, and it still didn’t outdo the overwhelming despair that had plagued her since Odin had first been taken. The Goddess, the first lady of the Heavens, refused to so much as think the thought that would consider her Lord and her lover dead. Her heart wouldn’t survive otherwise, Freya hanging on to that slim hope that the rightful ruling God of Creation could still be recovered. Downright stubborn with that unsubstantiated claim, Freya prayed for Yggdrasil as much as she did for Odin.
She couldn’t stave off it’s ruin indefinitely. Not even as the Goddess supreme of all things fertile, Freya trying to use the power inherent within her to keep some part of the great world tree alive and blooming. It resulted in a few pathetic looking shrubs with a warped limbs and sparse sprouts, but the blonde haired Goddess chose to believe that any sign of life no matter how shriveled, was still one of hope.
“Any news?” At least her voice maintained the illusion of her once indomitable strength. The ripple of divine energy behind her had signaled the God’s arrival.
“Nothing promising.” Came the deep rumble of disgust. It sounded like the storm itself, that voice holding thunder to it. Freya knew if she was to turn to glance the God’s way, she’d see the equally powerful sight of a lightning ablaze in the storm God’s eyes.
“The einherjar continue their search.” He continued. “More than half have been lost, some killed in duty’s line, but even more infected by the madness running rampant through the world.”
“So not even our einherjar are entirely protected from that sickness.” Freya murmured, then shook her head no.
“If they had a more direct hand guiding them...If a Valkyrie…”
“Thor, NO!” Freya blazed with her anger. “That option is no longer for us.”
“Why?” challenged the bearded storm God, Thor. “Because Silmeria and Hrist both betrayed us? There is no guarantee that Lenneth will do the same.”
“I’ll not give her that chance.” A stubborn Freya retorted. “Not with these odds...not when already two of the three Goddesses who are meant to govern over fate chose to align themselves with those inferior races.” She was the golden Goddess, meant to be the ultimate in sculpted beauty, but that scowl on her face lessened Freya’s appeal.
“But Lenneth….”
“You think the most sympathetic of the three will chose any different?” interrupted Freya with a mean scoff. “When the coldest of the three, when Hrist herself sided with our enemies?”
“Then what do you propose we do!?” demanded Thor, one hand on his hip, while the other waved about with his fervent agitation. “Freya, we are LOSING here. Not just our home, but soon our very lives. This world won’t survive without an action taken.”
“One Valkyrie will not change the fate of an entire world. Only the Lord Creator can.”
“Then awaken Lenneth to FIND him!” Thor roared with his frustration. “This world...WE need Lord Odin. We need him, or we need that of the one who inherited his power.”
“Don’t!” The snarl was so unlike her, Freya anything but the calm and gentle lady of the realm. “Don’t you even dare imply that Lord Odin is anything but…”
He was surprisingly subdued in the face of her anger. “We’ve no word for too long.” Thor took a step closer to the Goddess and laid a gentle hand on her shoulder in show of solidarity. “Freya, I want our King back as much as you. We ALL do. But the signs all point more and more that that is not to be. We can’t wallow in grief, we can’t let sadness and despair consume us...So long as we still live, we stand a chance, small though it may be, of saving the world that HE created.”
She was tempted to shrug free of that hand, Freya hardly taking any comfort from what Thor was saying. Her heart already so broken was having it’s pieces shattered ever more at the thought that perhaps all that was left of Odin, was the Creation that he had ruled over.
“I...” A shaky breath escaped her, a moment of genuine weakness expressed. “I’m not ready to let him go...”
“Not many are.” Came the rumble of agreement. “But neither are they ready to follow our Lord and his world into destruction. Freya please...reconsider...Lenneth...”
She needed a time that they did not have, this world and it’s many realms ever closer to ruin. Even a single hour might prove costly, Freya not able to take the luxury of even a true minute to consider closely what must be done.
“Have the einherjar continue their search for the two remaining divine treasures...” She hesitated a beat. “Summon Frei...we’ll need my sister’s power if we are going to awaken Lenneth.”
“Yes, my lady.” Thor gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze, but already the divine energy that was his power rippled over her, the God of Thunder shifting between here and there with his ether. Freya was left to stand alone at the base of the withering World Tree, her own doubts and insecurities making the Goddess second guess things still where the Valkyrie Lenneth was concerned.
==
The dawn of the new day had ushered in an overcast kind of atmosphere, that of the bleakness of a Creation whose days were still numbered matched well by the darkened gray skies, and the sudden chill born in the air. It was too cold for it to be natural, not in this region of Midgard, these nameless woods a forest that bordered the edge of a total of three different nations. As much as things had changed over time, some things had still remained the same, Gerabellum, Villnore and Artolia retaining their names if not all of their sovereign superiority.
They and their long storied history was just one of the many, so much there that he didn’t yet know, and a great deal more that must be learned in so short a time. The Lord of the Undead chafed at the constraints place upon him, every minute—nay every second, a precious commodity he could not afford to waste. None of them could, every being from the mortal humans, to the ageless undead, and even to that of the seemingly eternal, the Gods themselves, all faced this crisis. This world that was ending, Creation dying a slow, struggling death, and not even the fabled Ragnarok had been lauded as being as final as what was happening NOW.
This world and its people all doomed, there would be no rebirth found in this ruin. Not without the proper power in place, and as much as it chafed Brahms to admit to it, Odin had served a purpose. Tyrant though he may have been, cruel and cold, and ever so self serving, that God had kept the world from falling into this complete a chaos.
Though Odin was no more, the power that he had wielded was still out there. That an unworthy hand had laid claim to it, didn’t much bother the vampire king. That foolish mortal who had named himself God, could be supplanted, the control of Creation pried free of his uncaring hands. They just needed the tools to seize it, along with the right means to host it.
He cast a surreptitious glance at one of his companions, the archer who did his best to underplay the most unusual of his features. He kept his ears hidden, but there was no mistaking what he was, that green colored hair a blatant giveaway to the elven blood within him. What was less obvious, was the side of him that was human, Rufus this rare mix of breed, that was so decidedly special. His gender made him doubly so, the only male of his kind to have been born to the elves in centuries. In a race that was predominantly female, and ones that shunned contact of any kind with those not of their village, Rufus birth was in of itself a planned anomaly.
Created with the sole intention of being Odin’s spare, Rufus had had a great many freedoms stripped of him. His life hadn’t been his, his body meant as a back up for a day that might never have come. His soul had existed as only the battery in which to fuel and keep the body alive, the half elf’s mind, his very sense of being, had been seen as just a this disposable nuisance, treated no better than that of an animal.
That very existence that the elf had so many reasons to hate, would have served well as a host to Brahms’ plan. If he hadn’t already died, Rufus now a soul manifested through the remnants of Silmeria’s faded power. There was no changing what been done, the lone vessel suited to inheriting Odin’s power lost to them all. It might have been enough of a deterrent to lose all hope for the world, but Brahms had seized upon an idea, the chance borne on the wings of a Goddess, Lenneth, who had inadvertently paved the way for a revelation or two. One part of the three who governed over fate, it made a kind of wicked sense that the Valkyries might hold the possibility of containing the power of Creation within them.
The notion now alive in his head, it didn’t much matter that Brahms did not understand the hows and the whys of such a possibility. The vampire was confident he would soon figure it out, together with the help of the Valkyrie he intended to seat upon Creation’s throne. The Lord of the Undead couldn’t imagine a more fitting Goddess to rule, Silmeria this kind and compassionate a being, and one who had always been ever so eager towards righting Odin’s many wrongs.
Of course to do that, she had to be found, Silmeria and her sister, Hrist, caught up in a sovereign’s rite that had been so carelessly cast. Lezard hadn’t much cared about the outcome, anymore than he had for any other part of this world, content to lead the realms into an upheaval with or without the Valkyries. But the three couldn’t be destroyed that easily, the very essence of the Goddesses sent out out into the nameless ether that was this Creation’s heart and its’ soul. Although as to what shape and situation they both were in, even Brahms could not say, no true guess hazard. He could barely divine their location, the faint energy that seemed to be flitting around two distinct locations.
One roughly north of the forest that he now currently tread through, it was still a matter of time and distance before Brahms and his companions could close in one the first of the two missing Valkyries. He burned with impatience all the same, so much needing to be done, and so much wanting to be said, the woman, the Goddess one Brahms has owed so much to. There was a loyalty pledged to one another, a life sheltered within a soul’s embrace, Silmeria having SAVED Brahms and he her. There was a thanks to be given, and deeper feelings to explore, none of it yet having had the true chance the vampire King awakening just at the Valkyrie had been abducted for the FIRST time.
The rage that taking had inspired had paled in comparison to the startling desperation that had also birthed inside him. Made vulnerable by it in more ways than one, Brahms had soon fallen prey to to the very power that he had tried to protect Silmeria from. Caught up in that enchantment, the vampire, the rightful Lord of all the Undead, had been reduced to nothing more than a power source exploited by the Aesir, by Odin’s own ruthless hand.
Awake and aware and left to do nothing more than bear silent witness to Odin’s foul misdeeds, Brahms had come too close to spending out eternity locked inside that crystal. If not for Alicia, if not for her bold trespass into the heavens, Brahms might have still been trapped at this very second and wouldn’t that have been ironic, that he, one who had spent a millennia fighting against the Gods, against their uncaring ways and downright selfish antics, would have then been that which saved those cruel beings from this world’s ruin.
That he was powerful was fact, Brahms bearing a strength that had been steadily built upon through out the course of Creation’s history. Such was the magnificence of the Lord of the Undead that the vampire King was deemed to be on par with any one of the four divine treasures. It wasn’t a strength strong enough to save the entire world, but then the Gods would have gladly sacrificed the other eight realms of people, so as to save their own blasted hides. That was the difference between them, Brahms a monster, but one that would see law and order and above all fair justice mete out. The people deserved no less, Creation a place meant for all.
Silmeria had shared in his ideals, the Valkyrie the one Goddess who had actively took note of the wrongness of Odin’s rule. Of the wars incited in his name, the souls killed and culled for his amusement, whole realms manipulated, just about everything and everyone a chess piece on a board which had followed only Odin’s own whims, the God had been downright fanatical in HIS quest to rule forever. He had been a tyrant, but more than that, Odin had been a coward, the fabled Ragnarok the end he had sought to avoid at all costs.
To keep his own life extended, Odin had violated the many laws of nature, had broke with the forbidden taboos, and yet still he had died. Murdered for the very power within him, the God had met a pitiable end at the hands of a human no less. That mage had both done the world a great favor and damned it all to destruction, this Lezard just one more villain in need of being put down. Then and only then, might the world not only be saved, but seen to prosper under a truly benevolent hand’s rule.
Silmeria was that hand, Brahms was sure of it. The one being deemed worthy, it was this reason that destiny had thrown them all in together, Alicia, Rufus, and even Hrist, all having a part to play. The path before them just waiting for the one to forge it, the pieces all coming together under the vampire’s guidance.
Determined to see Silmeria made the new Lord God of all Creation, Brahms would be her sword and her shield, his very life offered up in servitude to her. It was the least he could do, a great many favors owed, Brahms owing a gratitude to her that might never be able to be repaid in full. He’d spend eternity trying, and if that gave him the excuse needed to linger in her presence even a bit longer, than so be it.

To Be Continued…
This chapter is so short compared to the others. @_@ Ah well, at least we finally got the first Brahms narrative, and we checked in on the Gods in Asgard a bit!
I can’t remember if I mentioned pacing worries yet in any of my author’s notes...Basically the Lezard Lenneth side is supposed to be more slow going than that of the rest of the cast. But I an endlessly worrying that the rest of the characters will reach a certain spot long before the LezaLenne side is ready...ERG.
I was looking at a map of the game’s Midgard, so I hope I gave them enough of a believable distance to traverse to find the first of the Valkyrie sisters…:o
I feel like I had more to say but it has already slipped my mind….I want to try and write a little every day, so that I can update my various stories more often. Get back into the discipline I had for writing, before pain derailed me so badly. Fingers crossed for luck in that regard!
Okay, like four hours later, and I am glad I didn’t post before proofreading. I ended up going over the Brahms POV (Which had a lot of typos and random missing words) and realized I must have been either really tired and or rushed to finish before leaving for my appointment. I’ve since not only proof read, but fleshed out the Brahms segment, so it ended up being a lot longer. The word count went up by around a thousand more words!

United States colleges resuming this fall are putting senior faculty in danger
Galloway reveals his frustration with US universities that are preparing to reopen for in-person classes this fall, amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
Having in-person classes will also put numerous older teachers and senior university professors members at threat of infection, states Galloway.
Visit Company Expert’s homepage for more stories
United States university presidents and chancellors, enough already.
It’s time to end the consensual hallucination between university leadership, parents, and trainees that in-person classes will resume in the fall. The bold declarations from presidents and provosts are symptomatic of the infections that also pester American leadership and business: exceptionalism that has morphed into arrogance and an idolatry of cash that supplants regard for the commonwealth.
Scott Galloway.
Courtesy of Scott Galloway.
These statements strike a similar tone to a CEO in the middle of a devastating profits call who demonstrates near-delusional optimism so investors don’t sell shares. The declarations could be translated as: “Parents, please send in your deposits. Nothing wrong here, nope, all great!” A combination of self-aggrandizement and elitism has encouraged American universities that our services deserve indebting generations of young people, and now risking ending up being agents of spread.
Scott Galloway.
The story
The US COVID-19 story is: The infection abates in the summertime, returns in the fall (peak likely not as extreme) as we start administering a recently discovered vaccine, and we’re back to our lives before year end. Nevertheless, it appears COVID-19 didn’t get the memo with our proposed timeline and is indifferent to our optimism.
While universities have a nobler objective than film theaters, professional sports, restaurants, and choir practice, the infection grows similarly in a lecture on Aristotle as in a movie theater, bar, or basketball court.
The highest denominator
While the virus continues to rage, our class are just as safe as our weakest links.
See below, my home house state of Florida:
Scott Galloway.
” Distancing” … have you satisfied young individuals?
Off school
My fourth year at UCLA, I was Interfraternity Council President (not on my LinkedIn profile). As king of the jarheads, I was privy to the tragedy that unfurled every week from the accident of youth, alcohol, and newly found liberty. In the very same year, a Lambda Chi lost consciousness from drinking on the roofing of his fraternity, rolled off into the driveway, and was discovered the next morning in a coma. Our IFC VP (a Phi Kap) got s– y intoxicated at a celebration in Malibu, decided to take a Jet Ski out at 2 a.m., and washed up 5 days later on. Our treasurer (Sigma Chi) hanged himself after his girlfriend declined his marital relationship proposition. Yep, however today’s youth will certainly use masks and keep six feet from each other off school.
Gen Z is without a doubt the age group most likely to be asymptomatic. They are also probably to feel immortal and defy health care guidance. Both physically and psychologically, young individuals are most likely to be super-spreaders.
Letting trainees gather in rooms permanently sealed for temperature control, regardless of masks and distancing procedures, plays like the opening scene of “Contagion 2.” We don’t have innovation yet to sanitize sealed air, or air distributed through a building. Air purifiers aren’t approximately the task
I flew up from Florida to New York City on Wednesday. That day, Governor Cuomo purchased all tourists from Florida to self-isolate, and I’m complying. If this order had been provided simply 8 weeks from now, I would have to miss out on the first class. Twenty-two million trainees enlist in college in the United States every year. Numerous thousands of professors and administrators would be connecting with them on campus. Do the mathematics on the intricacy and the dangers: travel, exposure, sealed air, close proximity.
What I believe will happen
In the next 6 weeks, after getting deposits/tuition, more universities will start announcing they are moving to all online courses for fall.
Parents and students may still decide to send their kids back to school, and make their own choices worrying the threats they can endure with a hybrid experience– online knowing while living on or near campus.
Scott Galloway. The majority of universities will make it through, many will not. This numeration is overdue and a reflection of how intoxicated universities have become on exclusivity and the Rolex-ification of schools, forgetting we’re public servants not luxury brand names.
An awful thing to waste
A crisis is a horrible thing to waste, and there is a huge opportunity.
By leveraging innovation, universities can open a massive boost in the ROI of public universities, which educate two-thirds of university trainees.
Foster parents and citizens
We ‘d like to believe every fall we, professors and administrators, end up being parents (OK, maybe foster parents) to the 22 million students who return to campus each September.
Yet it’s not our parental concern that ought to result in higher openness and management, but our citizenship. American universities are a location where appealing youth can find their success, and fantastic minds find facts that make the world a much better location through research study. When it concerns infection rates, universities are the opponent of R0, not its representative.
We are all tired from this crisis, and the requirement for a go back to typical is powerful. We need to check our optimism, and reembrace our other superpower: empathy. We must ensure that healthy 19- year-olds don’t pass the infection to a more susceptible population.
There isn’t a democracy, Central Bank, heart-lung transplant team, big-tech firm, or kid band that hasn’t been led by a United States university alum. United States universities have actually endured and flourished for centuries. We must play a crucial function, as we constantly have, in detaining, not making it possible for, the greatest health crisis of our age.

Honey, this is what I want to ask to you all the time while I”m doing an argument with a child like you?
Did we watch the same movies from the start and did you even pay attention to the details? I held a lot of my arguments/points and still do this time because unlike your double standards, I don’t want to condemn Thor entirely.
First off honey, let’s start with your statements:
Yeah Thor used to be a prick but he grew out of it and being arrogant is nothing compared to what Loki has done. I 😍 Loki, I really do but from Thor’s point of view, he’s been betrayed multiple times by him. You’re using a gif of one of his worst betreyal, pushing Thor on this stupid mission knowing it would end badly and could lead to a war so Thor wouldn’t be 👑. Sure, it’s a good thing Thor didn’t became 👑 then bc he was immature but Loki just wanted the throne for himself, he didn’t care for the well being of Asgard.
Pushing Thor? Ah, darling, you can’t push the person’s own faults to another person. Thor was totally thinking to invading Jotunheim at that time, with or without Loki’s words. Loki just say what Thor exactly thinking at that time and Thor approves of that. Thor is that really helpless and innocent so he never has “bad thoughts/intentions” in your eyes, doesn’t it?
Let me educated you first, if Thor is really good, he wouldn’t think to risk his own friends lives just because he wanted to have good fight or slaughtering people he deemed as inferior/monster. He really didn’t care about his own friends’s lives, and that’s what his whole point for the development in the Thor 1. Thor’s own bad traits was what put him into what he’s into.
Oh, and I’m not even mentioning that he’s now fall back into his old trait doesn’t it? He’s now too much indulged in his own self-ego. His most of behaviors in Ragnarok shows that. And if you want to deny this, you can’t since Russo Brothers confirming it themselves, therefore like it or not, this is canon.
Thor is extremely self-centric and arrogant, his arrogance and hot-headed traits will surely ruined the kingdom. Loki’s “betrayal” is totally the right thing to do at that time. He understands his own brother’s bad traits by living under his shadow for 1000 years.
And Loki’s “betrayal” is the right thing to do especially at that time, and he wasn’t wrong. He didn’t care for the well-being of Asgard? Well, according to the Thor 1 screenwriters’s confirmation, he does have a care (however small) about the kingdom’s walfare, and that’s why regardless if you want to keep your repeatedly delusional argument “but Loki is doing that for his own selfishness”:
“The thing that made Loki so close to our heart as a villain was that if you looked at the events of Thor from his perspective, he was the hero. He was the one who was saving the kingdom from his hotheaded brother who wasn't ready to his credit. "
Thor invaded planets? He killed people for fun? Again you’re interpreting 5 min battle scenes to which we have no background. He enjoy battles alright, but the only things he kill try to kill him first in what we 👀… In the movies… That actually happen… On the screen… Not in your head or in fanfictions.
Don’t make excuse. This is the face he made when he about to slaughtered Frost Giant, He enjoys that a lot and that’s happen directly on screen. This is not your fanfiction where you can think that “OH, But thor never kill people for fun”. He did kill frost giants both for fun because he loves battle a lot and also because he want to make Frost Giant in their “place”. Either way, that’s not good intentions.

The only things he kill try to kill him first? No, the frost giant army didn’t make move to kill him first, they just stood there only prepared to defend their area until Thor killed one of them. Laufey even allowed him to go first Frost Giant army aren’t the same group as those frost giant intruders. Just because they looks the same to you doesn’t mean they’re the same group of individuals.
If you can’t understand this simple thing, that’s mean you’re really just a child who can only comprehend the simple child story with the “white” hero and “black” villain. Marvel movies aren’t suited for you. You see? They now even go further into the direction of gray morality, in which the villain do have points and their ‘heroes’ are all having faults.
You can watch Titanic, that’s the perfect movie for a mind like you, so you don’t have to think too hard, bad for naive mind like you.
Also ah, do I have to give some fact about the Sakaarians guards case?
Odin isn’t a saint but he still raised Loki for 1500 years and he is loki’s father, even Loki acknowledged that in infinity war. What Loki did was a despicable thing to do to the person who raised him no matter what kind of 👑 Odin was. And Loki participated in his “colonialism” just as much if you 👀 it that way.
So does Thor, who participated in his colonialism just as much as Loki, if not, more than Loki himself considering he’s the one who did the most battle in the past, and that’s why he’s considered as the golden child, darling. And in IW, he admitted that he’s done so many battle in which accidentally furthering Odin’s colonialism and do you know what his reaction seeing Odin’s deeds? He never questioning/condemning it unlike T’Challa.
There’s a huge difference between real sincere hero like T’Challa and more of a self-proclaimed hero like Thor. So try again.
Loki wanted the throne, he was more than happy to take his father’s place in Thor 1 and pretended to be ⚰️ in Thor 2 just so he could throw old Odin on 🌍 and take the throne. But you’re right, he just wanted to be Thor’s equal, he doesn’t care about being 👑 and doesn’t like being worshipped and having servant give him wine while he watch a play about himself.
Do you need your ears and eyes get checked? Or you’re just really ignoring on what Loki said directly right in front of your face? 🙄Or it’s because you’re too blind in you extreme Thor’s worship?
Oh, wait, I know the answer. You have deaf ears just like Thor and blind eyes just like Odin.
Also, of course he was happy to get revenge on the “father” who lied to him for 1000 years and treated him as rejected son also giving him false hope for so long time, locked him as a stolen relic, immediately sentences him in prison for eternity where he can’t have contact with anyone as soon as Loki starts to continuing his path of colonialism, while still giving Thor whom deeds are just bad as him a three-day light “punishment” aka second chance to fix himself.
Yes honey, being a king, worshiped, and having servant giving him wine aren’t really his true goal/motivations kid (and don’t forget that he says thank you to that servant and also still prospering Asgard city well until Thor coming).

Sorry that Loki’s personality isn’t like Thor, the direct explicit extremely expressive straight-forward macho muscle guy who you can easily understand with just some limited brain skills. Thor loves being worshiped because he has massive healthy self-esteem, unlike Loki who suffers horrible self-esteem.
Yup, self-validation is actually his actual goal, which keep trampled by both Thor and Odin over and over until he died. Of course his inferiority caused him to be more “obedient” brother to Thor again in the end. Yikes!!! Prove that his actual goal isn’t to be king since he just let Thor being king without any kind of defiance like in the first movie, just a simple resignation.
Let’s agree on this, we don’t know anything about their lives before Thor 1 except that Thor was slightly arrogant, Loki feel disdain for his dumb brother and Loki stabbed Thor when he was 8 years old. What are these hundred of years of bad treatment that Thor inflicted to his brother? What did he do? Which scene are you referencing?
And don’t forget about the extremely famous “get help” habit, honey, in which Thor throwing Loki away like a bowling ball to the “enemy”. You’re not experiences amnesia about it, don’t you? What are these hundred years of bad treatment that Thor inflicted to his brother? Told him to know his place, degrading Loki’s ability throughout the movies, etc. so many. Oh, and did I mention that he did all of that in couple of hours?
Tolerating such a person who restrain your right to give opinions as a person being must be extremely painful. I’m surprised that Loki is extremely tolerant and snapped so late. Loki is a very tolerant brother.
Being obedient and accepting his electrocution punishment??? Loki really is a helpless 👶 to you isn’t he? Like he would ever be obedient. How do you accept an electrocution? Enlighten me? You mean he could have just stop being electrocuted if he wanted? Must be a masochist then. But again, didn’t he let Thor be electrocuted over and over ? Wasn’t he about to leave Thor on Sakaar, therefore condemning Asgard to be destroyed by Hela just so he could leave alone with the ship? You say he tried to save him but I’ve cleared that point already, he could have prevented all that if he had told the grandmaster that he was Thor’s brother but he didn’t so he wouldn’t lose his precious place on sakaar.
Loki wasn’t trying to rescue Thor, he just wanted Thor’s help so he could have a 🌍 all for himself. There was a lot of other way to save Thor that didn’t include Loki ruling over Sakaar.
Aw..so sweet. Aren’t you think Thor is really that helpless?
Nope, he was trying to rescue Thor from Hela, since he views Hela to be more dangerous than the Grandmaster, that’s why he keeps Thor on Sakaar. Sure it’s not a “good” method like you want, but sure as hell it’s not completely only for himself. You’re not “cleared”, there’s contradictory things in your statements.
If he admit that Thor is his “brother”, Thor would immediately blow up his cover with his uncontrollable mouth, therefore would blow up his planning. Thor is impulsive and abrasive guy who do everything direct, in which he learns that not all of his direct method work, so he learn to be more methodical like Loki, also learns to manipulating people for his own goal.
And Loki did asking Thor to join him remember? In which Thor just throwing things as a response?
Also..how it’s entirely Loki’s fault that Grandmaster electrocutes Thor? He obviously can’t control someone who can execute him with sticks as soon as he disobey his orders anytime. And did you expect him to have all the rights/controls? Please be logical instead of drowning in Thor’s perspectives only. His position obviously wasn’t that secure, and that’s the reason on why Grandmaster still threatening him and Valkyrie with “jokes” about “light” execution.
And why maintaining his position is a bad method (sure it wasn’t direct method, but it’s very methodical and smart)? His goal was to thrown over Grandmaster from his position, backstabbing him from the behind, and basically like what Valkyrie did in the half of the film.
His method would results in what just ends up as same as what Sakaarians Revolutionary led to, and would just as succeed if Thor joining him up before. His position is also useful and benefited Thor’s own escape hugely. Thor’s earlier method before he learn to be more manipulating or methodical is totally useless. So, sure keep complaining honey.
For some education, the difference between Thor’s electrocution and Loki’s electrocution? Thor doing that directly, willingly, and the electrocution he gave to Loki is a prolonged pain for hours non-stop. Thor’s electrocution isn’t prolonged, and Loki wasn’t the one in control or had the will, unlike Thor who completely in control.
Did I mention that Thor could stop electrocuting him and then knock him unconscious afterwards instead of keep Loki electrocuted for hours? He could have use this way (which would just results the same) or any other ways instead of the one he used but he chose that anyway. Why?
What small request did Thor kept neglecting?
Oh dear, this is totally confirming that you lack in skill of paying attention to details.
Let me explain to you here, kid.
How about I brought you this famous moment:
See, Thor keep his intentionally deaf ears to this Loki’s small harmless request, such as when Loki asking Thor to just not to do it. Of course Thor being Thor, he never care about Loki’s feelings, and not even the small one like this. No wonder Loki ends up being doesn’t care about Thor’s feelings either. 😁
Thor think fondly of humans, he said they were so “petty and tiny” with the most adorable 😁 on his face. Also he’s 😍 with Jane, who is human and he has great respect for her. Loki think humans are ants compared to his greatness.
The most adorable face? So his handsome and so-called “adorable” face distracting you to see the expression in his eyes? He thoughts human as ridiculous beings by degrading them as “petty”. He says that really explicitly or are you just denying it because of your delusion?
Do you know the definition of petty?
“ of secondary or lesser importance, rank, or scale; minor.”
Regardless if Thor want to protect humans, Thor never think human as equal, just a more inferior race he needs to save because yes, he loves the idea of “protecting” someone inferior than he is and he does loves the idea of being liked/worshiped by them. That’s why he enjoy being a famous person in earth.
Did I mention how boastful he is even when he’s being asked even if the question is in different topic?
My original point keeps standing. You don’t confused him with Steve Rogers who totally 100% sincere with “We don’t trade lives”. Thor isn’t Steve Rogers, sweetie.
Also, you can just say that you love being degrading as a lesser being by the person you idolized and you think that the person is completely right in doing that, so you justify him a lot. As for me, I never think or justifying it as the right mindset.
You keep finding way in which Thor is bad but you don’t have any argument for all the wrong things Loki did bc Thor is just as bad right? But everything Loki did actually happened on screen, there’s evidence when everything you said of Thor is just your interpretation or things that you invented.
No, you’re the one here who keep finding the way or inventing something your delusions made to make Loki as bad by twisting things and making false assumptions and interpretations that defying canon a lot because you don’t have any argument for all the wrong things Thor did because to you, Loki is totally bad without a single redeeming qualities.
Ah, everything Thor did as bad also happened on screen, just not shown as much as Loki directly, but they did shown that both implicitly and explicitly. As for the explicit, he’s mostly doing that with cool music accompanying him making naive viewers such as you blind to his wrongdoing even though it happened right in front of your eyes, in which you did because you’re keep making excuse about his actions and downgrading the bad things he did.
I didn’t discredit the fact that Loki saved Jane and Thor, but that’s the only thing he did that wasn’t for himself in this movie. And yeah, a sacrifice has a lot less impact when you know, you don’t actually sacrifice yourself. “Hey, did you forget I pretended to die for you”…it just doesn’t work.
Girl, everything in what you said before and now extremely discrediting the fact that Loki did succeed in saving Thor’s life or actually did get injured while doing that. It’s definitely not Loki’s fault that he survives that wound like what you want, so you can stop blaming him for surviving.
Isn’t it nice that your current statement is just showing how much you downgrading and discrediting?
Ah, I got some information for you. The actual creator such as Kevin Feige and Tom Hiddleston aka the creator definitely aren’t in board with your delusions that Loki just doing everything for himself. Also did you even watch Tom’s interview of Infinity War?

Why am I even arguing with you? You’re completely delusional and you’re incapable of making your own argument so you just keep twisting mine. Stop acting like I’m the 👶 when you write like a 5 years old. You 😍 2 characters that don’t exist in the MCU, one is an innocent neglected 👶 that never did anything wrong in his life and the other is a mad pretentious murderous diabolical psychopath. So enjoy your own personnal version of the MCU if you want but maybe try 👀 the movies next time?
I’m the one who should ask this actually.
Why I’m even arguing with a 3 years old child with such a black-and-white perspective who are extremely-biased and extremely ignorant of their hero deeds but 100% condemning the other for his deeds even though the hero you worshiped with such honey-moon eyes are never innocent from the start. That’s called as hypocrisy at it finest.
Your opinion is nothing but a delusion, building imaginations of two characters where one of them is the perfect hero who never did bad things and one of them is totally “evil” person. It’s a shame that a girl like you still hold such child illusion like that (Oh wait, you’re barely an adult, you’re merely just a child try to prove yourself an adult).
Enjoy your own personal delusion of characters. I’m still kind enough to not break child delusion bubble further than this.
😲… just 😲…did we even 👀 the same movies? You’re completely inventing stuff, interpreting everything in a way that make Loki a poor innocent victim while Thor is some kind of abusive mad 👑.
You’re the one here completely inventing stuffs, sweetie, making Thor as some kind of a completely poor innocent saint who never killed thousands of people before while Loki as completely stereotype bad guy (even though he’s not). You’re here starting things first by doing so many unfair double standards and nasty justification.
Thor’s last words to Loki vs. Loki’s last words to Thor

Iran prevails over the USA, twice, but this is far from over
[this analysis was written for the Unz Review]
An Iranian official has announced that the UK-flagged tanker Stena Impero was free to leave. Remember the Stena Impero? This is the tanker the IRGC arrested after the Empire committed an act of piracy on the high seas and seized the Iranian tanker Grace 1. Col Cassad posted a good summary of this info-battle, blow by blow (corrected machine translation):
Britain, at the instigation of the US, seizes the Iranian tanker Grace 1 and demands from Iran guarantees that it in any case does not go to Syria.
Iran, in response, captures the British tanker Stena Impero and says it will not retreat until the British releases Grace 1. British ships that guarded merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz were warned that they would be destroyed if they interfered with the IRGC’s actions.
After 2 months, Britain officially releases Grace 1, which is renamed Adrian Darya 1. It raised the Iranian flag and changed the crew.
The British government says the tanker is released under Iran’s obligations not to unload the tanker at the Syrian port of Banias or anywhere else in Syria. Iran denies this.
The US officially requires Britain and Gibraltar to arrest Adrian Darya 1 and not let him into Syria, as it violates the sanctions regime. Britain and Gibraltar refuse the US.
Adrian Darya 1 reaches the coast of Syria and after a few days on the beam of Banias, unloads its cargo in Syria. The Iranian government says it has not made any commitments to anyone.
After Adrian Darya 1 left Syria, Iran announced that it was ready to release the British tanker. The goal has been achieved.
This is truly an amazing series of steps, really!
The USA is the undisputed maritime hyper-power, not only because of its huge fleet, but because of its network of bases all over the planet (700-1000 depending on how you count) and, possibly even more importantly, a network of so-called “allies”, “friends”, “partners” and “willing coalition members” (aka de facto US colonies) worldwide. In comparison, Iran is a tiny dwarf, at least in maritime terms. But, as the US expression goes, “it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog” which decides the outcome.
And then there is the (provisional) outcome of the Houthi strike on the Saudi oil installations. The Saudis appeared to be pushing for war against Iran, as did Pompeo, but Trump apparently decided otherwise:
youtube
Some have focused on the fact that Trump said that it was “easy” to attack Iran. Others have ridiculed Trump for his silly bragging about how US military gear would operate in spite of the dismal failure of both US cruise missile attacks (on Syria) and the Patriot SAMs (in the KSA). But all that bragging is simply obligatory verbal flag-waving; this is what the current political culture in the USA demands from all politicians. But I think that the key part of his comments is when he says that to simply attack would be “easy” (at least for him it would) but that this would not show strength. I also notice that Trump referred to those who predicted that he would start a war and said that they were wrong about him. Trump also acknowledged that a lot of people are happy that he does not strike (while others deplored that, of course, beginning with the entire US pseudo-liberal & pseudo-Left media and politicians). The one exception has been, again, Tulsi Gabbard who posted this after Trump declared that the US was “locked and loaded”:
youtube
Whatever may be the case, this time again, Trump seemed to have taken a last minute decision to scrap the attack the Neocons have been dreaming about for decades.
I think that I made my opinion about Trump pretty clear, yet I also have to repeat that all these “climbdowns” by Trump are, just by themselves, a good enough reason to justify a vote for Trump. Simply put; since Trump came to power we saw a lot of hubris, nonsense, ignorance and stupidity. But we did NOT see a war, especially not a major one. I will never be able to prove that, but I strongly believe that if Hillary had won, the Middle-East would have already exploded (most likely after a US attempt at imposing a no-fly zone over Syria).
We are also very lucky that, at least in this case, the rapid every four year Presidential election in the USA contributes to keep Trump (and his Neocon masters) in check: Trump probably figured out that a blockade of Venezuela or, even more so, a strike on Iran would severely compromise his chances of being re-elected, especially since neither theater offers the US any exit strategy.
Still, following these immensely embarrassing defeats, Trump and his advisors had to come up with something “manly” (which they confuse with “macho”) and make some loud statements about sending more forces to the Persian Gulf and beefing up the Saudi air defenses. This will change nothing. Iran is already the most over-sanctioned country on the planet and we have seen what US air defense can, and cannot do. Truth be told, this is all about face-saving and I don’t mind any face-saving inanities as long as they make it possible to avoid a real shooting war.
Still, the closer we get to the next US election, the more Trump should not only carefully filter what he says, he would be well advised to give some clear and strict instructions to his entire Administration about what they can say and what they cannot say. Of course, in the case of a rabid megalomaniac like Pompeo, no such “talking points” will be enough: Trump needs to fire this psychopath ASAP and appoint a real diplomat as Secretary of State. After all, Pompeo belongs in the same padded room as Bolton.
Now if we look at the situation from the Iranian point of view, it is most interesting. First, for context, I recommend the recent articles posted by Iranian analysts on the blog, especially the following ones:
“War Gaming the Persian Gulf Conflict” by Black Archer Williams
“Karbala, The Path of Most Resistance” by Mansoureh Tadjik
“Resistance report: Syrian Army takes the initiative in Idlib while Washington blames its failures on Iran again” by Aram Mirzaei
I also recommend my recent interview with Professor Marandi.
I recommend all these Iranian voices because they are so totally absent from the political discussions on the Middle-East, at least in western media. Williams, Tadjik, Mirzaei and Marandi are very different people, they also have different point of views and focuses of interest, but when you read them you realize how confident and determined Iranians are. I am in contact with Iranians abroad and in Iran and all of them, with no exception, share that calm determination. It seems that, just like Russians, Iranians most certainly don’t want war, but they are ready for it.
The Iranian preferred strategy is also clear: just the way Hezbollah keeps Israel in check so will the Houthis with the KSA. The Houthis, who are now in a very strong negotiation position, have offered to stop striking the KSA if the Saudis do likewise. Now, the Saudis, just like the Israelis, are too weak to accept any such offer, that is paradoxical but true: if the Saudis officially took the deal, that would “seal” their defeat in the eyes of their own public opinion. Having said that, I can’t believe that the Saudis believe their own propaganda about war against Iran. No matter how delusional and arrogant the Saudi leaders are, surely they must realize what a war against Iran would mean for the House of Saud (although when I read this I wonder)! It is one thing to murder defenseless Shias in the KSA, Bahrain or Yemen and quite another to take on “the country which trained Hezbollah”.
Speaking of delusional behavior, the Europeans finally did fall in line behind their AngloZionist overlords and agreed to blame Iran for the attack under what I call the “Skripal rules of evidence” aka “highly likely“. The more things change, the more they remain the same I suppose…
It is pretty clear that all the members of the Axis of Kindness (USA, KSA, Israel) are in deep trouble on the internal front: Trump is busy with the “Zelensky vs Biden” scandal, especially now since the Dems are opening impeachment procedures, the latest elections failed to deliver the result Bibi wanted, as for the Saudis, after pushing for war they now have to settle for more sanctions and radars, hardly a winning combination.
The Saudis are too weak, clueless and obese (physically and mentally) to get anything done by themselves. But the USA and Israel are now in a dire need to show some kind of “victory” over, well, somebody. Anybody will do. Thus the US have just denied visas 10 members of the Russian delegation to the United Nations (thereby violating yet another US obligation under international law, but nobody in the US cares about such minor trivialities as international law); and just to show how amazingly powerful the Empire is, the Iranian delegation to the UN received the same “punished bad boys” treatment: truly, a triumph worthy of a superpower! Last minute update: the US is now revoking Iranian student visas and denying entry to Venezuelan diplomats.
This “war of visas” is the US equivalent of the “war on statues” the Ukrainians, Balts and the Poles have been waging to try to distract their population from the comprador policies of their governments.
As for the Israelis, I now expect the Israelis to strike some empty building in Syria (or even in Gaza!).
Conclusion: facts don’t really matter anymore, and neither does logic
Ten years ago Chris Hedges wrote a book called “Empire of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle ” and, a full decade later, this title is still an extremely accurate diagnostic. What Hedges politely called the “end of literacy” can be observed in all its facets, listening to US political and military leaders. While most of them are, indeed, morally bankrupt and even psychopaths, it is their level of ignorance and incompetence which is the most amazing. First, the Russians spoke of “non-agreement-capable” “partners” but eventually Putin quipped that it was hard to work with “people who confuse Austria and Australia“. This all, by the way, applies as much to the Obama Administration as it does to the Trump Administration: their common motto could have been “illusions über alles” or something similar. Once a political culture fully enters into the realm of illusions and delusions the end is near because no real-world problem ever gets tackled: it only gets obfuscated, denied and drowned into an ocean of triumphalist back-slapping and other forms of self-worship.
Post scriptum: the US goes crazy but Trump just might survive after all
So the Dems decided to try to impeach Trump. While I always expected the Neocons to treat Trump as the “disposable President” which they would try to use to do all the stuff they don’t want to be blamed for directly, and then toss him away once they squeezed him for everything he could give them, I am still appalled by the nerve, the arrogance and the total dishonesty of the Dems (see my rant here).
My gut feeling is that Trump just might beat this one for the very same reason he won the first time around: because the other side is even worse (except Tulsi Gabbard, of course).
Of course, an attack on Iran would be a welcome distraction à la “wag the dog” and Trump might be tempted. Hopefully, the Dems will self-destruct fast enough for Trump not to have to consider this.

Carl Jung and Alcoholics Anonymous: is a Theistic Psychopathology Feasible?
In a letter to Carl Jung that was recently made public on the Web, Bill Wilson, founder of A.A., reminds Jung of a conversation that Jung had 30 years before with one of his patients who was an alcoholic: “That conversation between you was to become the first link in the chain of events that led to the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous”. Wilson specifies further: “My recollection of his account of that conversation is this: First of all, you frankly told him of his hopelessness, so far as any further medical or psychiatric treatment might be concerned. … When he then asked you if there was any other hope, you told him that there might be, provided he could become the subject of a spiritual or religious experience - in short, a genuine conversion. You pointed out how such an experience, if brought about, might remotivate him when nothing else could.”
Jung confirms in his answer to Wilson that the conversation was “adequately reported” by his patient. We can conclude from this, as well as other autobiographical data, that Jung was a deeply religious man, that he had undergone religious conversion, and that he obtained motivation or strength from his personal relationship with God. At the same time, Jung’s letter reveals his lifelong preoccupation with keeping his relationship with God from appearing openly in his practice, lectures, and writings. He was focused on the ambitious work of constructing new psychological knowledge that can appear as scientific, and this cannot be based on merely personal or subjective experience, either his own or that of a visionary or mystic. He had to be careful not to have his psychiatric practice be based on religion or his own religious conversion.
About that conversation with his alcoholic patient, Jung informs Bill Wilson that “I could not tell him everything…In those days I had to be exceedingly careful of what I said.” Jung was concerned of his reputation and did not want being misunderstood or misreported. In his letter, Jung reveals that at that time he did not feel comfortable saying the following to his patient: “His craving for alcohol was the equivalent of … the spiritual thirst of our being for wholeness, expressed … as the union with God.”
Jung shares his conviction that “the evil principle prevailing in this world leads the unrecognized spiritual need into perdition, if it is not counteracted by a real religious insight”. Jung saw “real religious insight” as involving a personal and meaningful relationship with God. Jung states that “these are the reasons why I could not give a full and sufficient explanation to Roland H. but I am risking it with you”.
It is noteworthy that Jung ends his letter to Bill Wilson with this statement:
“Alcohol in Latin is “spiritus” and you use the same word for the highest religious experience as well as for the most depraving poison. The helpful formula therefore is: spiritus contra spiritum.”
This title in Latin encapsulates Jung’s theistic psychiatry and scientific dualism. He is acknowledging thereby the existence of spiritual good and evil that is powerfully active in the mind of individuals. God’s angelic forces of good (“spiritus”) battle the devil’s infernal forces of evil (spirit alcohol). In this view, the human mind is a battleground between societies of good spirits and hoards of evil spirits that exist in the collective unconscious of humanity. This would lead to the conclusion that mental alcoholism is a spiritual disease caused by evil psychic forces in the collective unconscious that have attacked an individual and are holding him or her as a mental prisoner.
The first two steps of the 12-step program are the most critical, which is why they are placed in rank 1 and 2. It is declared that nothing can succeed in the other steps without these first two. There is the warning that the tragic long painful failure of the alcoholic man and woman will continue if the first two steps are not completed. The first step is to declare psychological bankruptcy or failure. This must come after years of seeing one’s life break apart at the seams despite our desperate attempts to control our mental sickness. We must admit defeat to ourselves. We must see that we are completely hopeless trying to solve our problem by ourselves. That is step 1. Nothing goes without it. To admit hopelessness, and to actually mean it, is to give up delusional arrogance and obsessive self-pride. Now there is room for step 2.
Step 2 is to replace the self that is at the helm of our mind, with God being at the helm. This is the confession and admission of the existence of a “Higher Power”, higher than one’s own power. The quote below from the official A.A. guidebook shows up various types of mental conflicts that new AA members have regularly experienced in the form of rebelling against faith, invocation, and reliance on God. It is asserted that nearly everyone has a culture of religion from childhood but many have in their adult life departed from that “childish” idea of God. This constitutes an intellectual rejection of God. Others experience an emotional rejection because God wouldn’t do what they asked Him for, or worse, God did not protect their loved ones from disaster and early death [2].
The guidebook asserts that all this psychological resistance is just that, resistance. It does not present an actual obstacle that prevents the solution. With practice and group support the new members gain courage in dethroning themselves from their delusional status of self-power, and this internal action allows God into their thinking and emoting. Now help is given on a daily basis through affective strength and self-confidence that relies on God. The process of psychopathological recovery has begun and continues endlessly.
The official A.A. Guide points to the ineffectiveness of traditional religious interventions with alcoholics. They insist that these have no power over the sickness. In contrast to this, a personal relationship with God does have the power to heal the mental and spiritual sickness of the alcoholic victim.
To clergymen, doctors, friends, and families, the alcoholic who means well and tries hard is a heartbreaking riddle. To most A.A.’s, he is not. There are too many of us who have been just like him, and have found the riddle’s answer. This answer has to do with the quality of faith rather than its quantity. This has been our blind spot. We supposed we had humility when really we hadn’t. We supposed we had been serious about religious practices when, upon honest appraisal, we found we had been only superficial. Or, going to the other extreme, we had wallowed in emotionalism and had mistaken it for true religious feeling. In both cases, we had been asking something for nothing. The fact was we really hadn’t cleaned house so that the grace of God could enter us and expel the obsession. In no deep or meaningful sense had we ever taken stock of ourselves, made amends to those we had harmed, or freely given to any other human being without any demand for reward. We had not even prayed rightly. We had always said, “Grant me my wishes” instead of “Thy will be done.” The love of God and man we understood not at all. Therefore we remained self-deceived, and so incapable of receiving enough grace to restore us to sanity.
Therefore, Step Two is the rallying point for all of us. Whether agnostic, atheist, or former believer, we can stand together on this Step. True humility and an open mind can lead us to faith, and every A.A. meeting is an assurance that God will restore us to sanity if we rightly relate ourselves to Him.
Jung describes “faith” or religious belief as a psychological process that goes through two phases of development. First, in the initial phase, people believe that they are “saved” because of their faith and the strength of their self-confidence in that belief. This initial phase is a superficial state that does not penetrate into the interior levels of personality structure from where we derive our motivations and emotions. This initial phase is immature and selfcentered because people do not yet have the deep capacity for mutual love or respect for others. They are still focused exclusively on gaining dominance over everyone else for the sake of selfgain and self-supremacy. A.A. follows the universal principle that every human being is born with the mental predisposition to do all things for the sake of self, and if not for the sake of self, then for the sake of others who are allied to self, thus ultimately for the sake of self. This selfishness is unhealthy and injurious to the individual’s psychological well-being and functioning. Selfishness is also destructive of society and community, thus of the entire human race.
The A.A. guidebook asserts that those who are motivated to leave this self-injurious and self-limiting phase behind can enter the “inner chamber” in their mind, initiating a sincere relationship with God. The influence of God in the individual’s mind challenges and confronts the self-centered and self-serving focus. The person then experiences a spiritual battle or psychological conflict in the form of the temptation to act contrary to spiritual principles for the sake of satisfying some selfish love or interest. This is the level of the psychological and spiritual battle that the alcoholic faces daily. This is where the A.A. group and community values and rationales need to be acquired and practiced.
In 1937 Jung wrote: “People sometimes call me a religious leader. I am not that. I have no message, no mission; only an attempt to understand. We are philosophers in the old sense of the word, lovers of wisdom. That avoids the sometimes questionable company of some who offer a religion”.
In 1999 Anthony Storr, a well-known Jung interpreter, wrote: “Analytical psychology does not aim at curing neurotic symptoms, but at bringing about a change in the patient's attitude to him or herself, and therefore to life in general. This new attitude can be described as 'religious', but it has nothing to do with creeds or conventional forms of worship. Analytical psychology is not a religion, but can be described as a prolegomenon to religion or religion in statu nascendi.”
A 2005 book published by the American Psychological Association makes this statement about Jung: “Personality development and psychopathology cannot be seen in purely secular terms, and no longer can psychotherapy be considered a purely secular pursuit. … Within the Jungian perspective, the removal of symptoms as a final goal of therapy is an incomplete approach. The symptom is a wakeup call from the Self to greater consciousness.” (L. Corbett & M. Stein, Contemporary Jungian approaches to spiritually oriented psychotherapy).
In 1999, Shamdasani [3] a well-known Jungian commentator wrote this: “Given the significance of religion in people's lives, it followed that a psychology that failed to consider religious phenomena did not deserve to be called a psychology. Thus the psychology of religion was not simply a regional or peripheral domain, but was essential to the possibility of a general psychology. Thus Jung did not approach the topic of religion with a pre-established definition of psychology. Rather, the study of religious phenomena was one of the critical issues that helped define Jung's concept of psychology.”

Visit for more related articles at Acta Psychopathologica The reputed success in rehabilitating so-called “hopeless” alcoholics through the Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) program depends in large measure to convincing the members of the group or community that they are totally helpless in changing themselves through their own efforts, but that God can do it when they give themselves and their lives over to God. This theistic approach and method may influence future theory and practice in psychopathology and psychiatry, as this aspect of Carl Jung’s psychology [1] becomes the focus of attention.

Homosexuality: He is ‘stupid’ and an ‘idiot’ – Foh Amoaning blasts UN expert for gay comments
According to the law lecturer, the UN expert has no right to “insult” the Speaker of Parliament, adding that Ghana as a country cannot be forced to accept gay rights.
United Nation’s Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights, Philip Alston, has been described as “stupid” and “an idiot” following his remarks on gay rights in Ghana.
This is according to senior lecturer at the Ghana School of Law, Moses Foh Amoaning, who believes the UN expert should not even be responded to.

The lecturer was incensed by comments made by Mr. Alston who described Speaker of Parliament Prof. Aaron Mike Ocquaye as “delusional” for his anti-gay stance.
Delivering a speech following a fact-finding visit to Ghana, Mr. Alston said: “I believe that if he (Speaker of Parliament) thinks there is not a very significant proportion of gay people in Ghana, he is deluding himself. You cannot wish away a physical fact. The percentage of gay people in any population is significant.”
However, the UN expert seems to have drawn the ire of some Ghanaians, including the Ghana School of Law lecturer.
In an interview with Accra-based Starr FM, Mr. Amoaning described Mr. Alston as “stupid”, “an idiot” and a “bigot” for making such statements.
According to him, the UN expert has no right to “insult” the Speaker of Parliament, adding that Ghana as a country cannot be forced to accept gay rights.

In a lengthy rant, he said: “My dear how would I respond to this idiot? “He is so bigoted and to be honest very stupid. I mean every word of it.”
The law lecturer and ant-gay campaigner added: “Do you understand the word delusion… to be deluded? Do you understand that word? You tell me, you are a journalist, what is the meaning of deluded? “You sit there for a Caucasian to call the speaker of your parliament deluded and you are fine with it my dear. When I say he is an idiot…look, I intentionally used that word because I wanted to provoke you, because you see he doesn’t provoke you because the language is coming from a white person so you don’t see anything wrong with it. “I am sick and tired of this arrogant bigotry being thrown around by Europeans and because we ourselves are not thinking through these things, we allow them to insult us… poke down upon us and to say anything they like… even Ghanaian journalists don’t seem to appreciate what is happening.”
The issue of gay rights has been on the discussion table in recent years, but it appears most Ghanaians are still against it being legalized in the country.

The First 15 points of The New Establishment Generation.
The New Establishment Generation.
1.No judge may serve more than 10 years in the supreme court. All US Supreme court opinions are subject to academic review. Antonin Scalia has voiced criticism of law school electives when in fact the threat he feels from young law students applying theory early reduces the grandiosity he makes presenting law in limited scopes, narrow glances and conservative judicial activism(ie McCutcheon v FEC, Citizens United v FEC)
2.Prior to Supreme Court opinions, Law schools are requested to submit faculty per curiam opinions and Appeals/District Courts likewise encouraged to present Opinion on cases. Intrajudicial review has a duty to raise concensus by which State and US Supreme Court cannot venture outside expected precedents lower courts would be promptly overturned for exercising.
3.Journalists reviewing/recycling the term ' me generation”, “selfie generation' or any similar accusation of narcissism are hereby denounced as reputable sources. The outcome of these misguiding trope labels applied to young people result in a) feelings of obligation to serve in unofficial wars, 2) to neglect their owed duty to call for term limits for a congress of aging narcissists representing only themselves and their re election lobby's interest.
4.Term Limits are now a litmus and legally binding contract for any candidate seeking office. No thanks to a conservative activist supreme court; no matter their official leans, the 22nd Amendment sufficiently provided for a norm of limitations for sitting Legislators and White House officials. We see this ageism in persons like Elizabeth Porter who reduced the gun dialog down to 'do your homework and don't bother me”. The Congresspersons took a sworn oath to protect the people from threats foreign and domestic and they are failing.By lack of term limits we see arrogance reeking out of the doors of our legislative houses. The days great orators by their own personal camera are not the days best reformers. The first lobbyist is the incumbent themselves.
I’m suggesting the protective measures of two terms in each house of congress, a total of 26 years total service, a lowering of voting age to 15, a lowering of congress access age to 19. It is by a protective notion of wanting candidates that will willfully vacate office to do other things these measures are such. Also, that candidates are more aligned to education interests and not lobby interests. Long term donations have a strong association to candidate influence and so the appearance of corruption without term limits has been a neglected artifact in the Supreme Court evaluation.
House term 9 yrs, Senate term 6yrs. The two year cycle is a money drain and congress must be held to their own performance stats.
5.In as long as NRA will turn a blind eye to circumvention of federal law , aspire slavery and through their evangelical base distort gun rights a christian/protestant policy, the NRA and its industry will be considered a baseless faction disservicing the 2nd amendment more than representing it. They’re white privilege mongers. This does not stand to dismiss concealed carry and if assault weapons were ever to be legal, additional licensing was necessary.
6.The republican party is found negligent and culpable for the costs of all gun deaths relating from the expiration of the assault weapons ban. We additionally call for police harboring and collaborating false statements to exonerate murderers behind a badge to be charged for accessory to murder and obstruction of justice.
7.The killing of a man need no greater than semi automatic capability in the reason of self defense. All mechanisms of automatic fire, or greater expiring of ammunition than one trigger pull per bullet is prohibited . Semi automatic weapons have been on the market for awhile , including rifles. The recent choice to appeal a military style carbine has been highly specialized to illegal modifications even though military recruits are also trained only for single round shooting. Automatic and modified semiautomatic weapons are frivolity measures explicitly unlike purposes of self defense.
8. No legitimate christian could ever have blessed AR-15s in the presence of Jesus under his teachings. The militancy of white radicalized gun idolators raises a cult alert about conservative politics and delusional expressions more similar to Sharia law than unlike. When a shooter entered Youtube headquarters in what is presumed confrontation of banning DIY gun videos the reality of fringe NRA militancy groups was manifested. If the political link is factual it is but a wider example of conservatives being unfit to have guns due to their death threat tendencies for political reasons. They’re taking as much offense to gun control as extreme Muslims to heckling Mohammed is an absolute parallel. The conservative message divides themselves from willing christian martyrs. The narrow gate in christianity is the only gate; to school christian post on Trumps adulterous exemptions.
9.Money is not speech. However in the time that it continues to be so , money cannot be divided from speech. Stock ownership is a political and business association that need not have divided its influence from the stock itself. In the creation of PACs and unfortunately then sPACS, transparency was decreased as for stock holders being aware what funding was going to political purposes. Goldman Sachs has just been called upon by its shareholders to release its lobbying budget.. Unitarian Universalist Association representing 1000 religion organizations seems to be proving that when a company is allowed to perform corporate political speech, it doesn't see its own association to its shareholders to be a sufficient basis of representing shared interest. Corporate speech is not entitled freedom from, or anonymous association.
10.The first six points are the focus of for debate.
11.A fetus is inert property of the mother up to birth and only until a successful birth is a fetus actually assured survival noting birth injuries like cerebral palsy, erbs palsy , ischemia. There is no creationist providence to its opposition to abortion due to first :a) birth -beginning-life is the official start of life in creationism b)only since 1910 have premature birth babies been consistently viable. Christianity is not a rabbinical reform religion . c) the antiabortion lobby function as a female harassment lobby posturing only against nonrepublicans. d) the creationist republican lobby does not support life for it finds healthcare more appealing as a profit agenda, not a social well-being agenda. e) the creationist republican lobby doesn't respect life in its pollution and deregulation policies that allow industry to spoil water sources and poorly dispose of wastes. f) the republican creationist agenda doesn't support life because “texas” (business regulation absence).
12.No state is legitimately entitled to hold closed primaries for they feature only the attention of republicans and democrats. Ballot access has been largely inhibiting to any additional parties where money , not policy, is the limiting feature in the market place of ideas. Elections need not only be reformed but assuring the end of the monopoly by the democrat-republican trust. It's really a shame the country United States broke from; England , is doing better for Democracy than this country is. For a country of 65 million people, they have 12 parties. By that ratio , there should be 58 accessible and electable parties. We define the republican and democrat umbrellas of thought too large to be serviced, too profitable to be effectively translated to reasonable public interest, and too spent on protecting the legitimacy of their antipopulist behaviors.
13. We redact Congress's constitutional right to manage its order and affairs and issue a need of a New Constitutional convention recognizing that government's enabled to organize themselves without term limits will become corrupt.
14. We announce a retirement of the American republic flag and pledge for expectation of even monotheism and a loyal appeasement to the wealthy to be unconstitutional division from representation. Instead a new flag and pledge steering away from eurocentrism and white creationist racism; assuring a “Liberal Democracy” system will be drafted.
15. Single payer healthcare shall be the policy in that congress’s role to regulate and cost contain have failed by all other measures. Democrats individually are damned for extending an olive branch to the republican party during the healthcare debate. Managed care didn’t manage and its certainly not an adequate system to run government either. The airfare alone is reckless. Net Neutrality is guaranteed and synonymous in protecting the market place of ideas.

Minnesota Sports Talk Radio Is Somehow Much, Much Worse than in Philly
I take back everything I’ve ever said about the state of Philadelphia sports talk radio after listening to two days worth of “content” from the Minnesota sports talk station 1500 ESPN, namely the Judd and Mackey show, a paint by numbers sports talk show with EXTREME HOSTS Phil Mackey and Judd Zulgad.
I almost want to rip Mackey more and leave Zulgad alone, because that poor bastard has probably already gotten so much shit in his life with a name like that I don’t want pile on. I don’t need Judd reading this and showing up to my house with a hunting rifle, shovel and box of lime. Judd Zulgad is an ALL-TIME terrible name. Just say it out loud to yourself…it offends the senses. Judd Zulgad. JUDD Zulgad. Judd ZULGAD. JUDD ZULGAD. It even looks terrible typing it out. Yuck. I’ve never seen a picture of Judd, but with a name like that there is absolutely no way he doesn’t smell like spoiled gravy at all times.
Their show is really something to listen to. Where else can you hear nuggets such as “hey, did you know Philadelphia actually THREW SNOWBALLS at Santa?!” And “Veteran’s Stadium had a jail in it?!” AND AND AND “THEY LIKE TO DRINK ALCOHOL DURING GAMES?!” AND “THEY’RE GOING TO BOO VIKINGS FANS IF THEY WEAR VIKINGS JERSEYS?” Their insight into the mind of a Philadelphia sports fan is truly impressive….I’ve never heard or seen those pearls of wisdom mentioned anywhere before listening to the Mackey & Judd Show.
It’s also at this point I should mention I tweeted them a Coggin story yesterday and they read the entire thing on air (so I guess they’re not all that bad). They understood the joke. Their fans, though, have been sharing it on Facebook for the past two days AS IF IT WERE A REAL GUIDE ON HOW TO SURVIVE AN ATTACK BY AN EAGLES FAN. You hayseed rubes…this city would eat you alive.
However, here’s an example of what you can expect to hear from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. everyday with Phil and the Judd man:
The difference between #Vikings fans and #Eagles fans is pretty simple: Self awareness.

There is no way I’m transcribing the entire 2:20 of verbal diarrhea spewed over their airwaves, but here’s a lovely little snippet for you to chew on:
Mackey: Can I rant for a minute? One thing I’ll say about Minnesota sports fan, we’re pretty self aware. Would you agree? We know where our teams stand, we know its been a bad run lately. We’re not delusional. We don’t thump our chests for titles won 50 years ago. We’re self aware in that we’re pretty embarrassed by the state of Minnesota sports in general in the past 25 years. Is that fair to say?
Zulgad: Hmmhmm…hmmmhmmm…I think it’s definitely fair.
Mackey: Philadelphia fans, on the other hand, if I could create a Ross Perot-like chart of bravado vs. actual success of Philadelphia sports team and compare it to Boston or New York, the gap is pretty embarrassing. The lack of self awareness is pretty embarrassing. Outside of one World Series win by the Phillies 10 years ago, Philadelphia hasn’t been championship relevant in decades, yet they chirp like Patriots fans, like Yankees fans.
It goes on, but you get it. First of all….ROSS PEROT?! Mackman, can I call you Mackman? Great. You couldn’t think of a more TOPICAL or TIMELY reference than Ross Perot? You could have said Trump! Or any other politician within the past two decades and it would have been more topical than Ross Perot. Could you not think of any “gridlock” jokes on the fly? Did I miss you making Dan Quayle potato spelling zingers later on in the show?
But to focus more on the content of his statement…has anybody you’ve ever known thumped their chests and bragged about the NFL Championship the Eagles won in 1960? Am I missing something? Is that a point people think we hold up as football fans? It’s a nice little footprint in franchise history, nothing more.
Jesus Christ, Mackman, we’re quite aware of the embarrassing nature of our sports landscape in Philadelphia. This is Philadelphia. Embarrassment is part of our nature. But, this is also EXACTLY why we’re so jacked up about this team reaching the NFC Championship game. Do you not get that? You’re not getting Philadelphia fans calling into your station and being braggadocious about the Eagles because we’re not self aware about our sports franchises. You’re getting people from Philadelphia calling into your podunk sports talk station and giving you a hard time because we’re acutely aware of the state of our sports in this city. NOBODY THOUGHT WE HAD A CHANCE TO GET HERE. WE’RE ALL FIRED UP.
No Wentz, no Hicks, no Sproles, no Peters. It’s not arrogance. It’s being insanely surprised and PUMPED that for the first time in a long time we actually have a bright future for this franchise.
And sure, Philadelphia may compare itself to New York or Boston on occasion, but we’ll never compare ourselves to Minnesota. What’s there to compare? The weather sucks and you have a few lakes up there. Hell, we have lakes. Lakes are overrated.
Go Eagles.
