The double standard in the fandom with blaming all sorts of shit on All Might and praising Aizawa for being the «best teacher ever» never falls to astound me.

How is being super apathetic, using manipulation tactics and lies on students, and being generally very uninterested in them so much better than All Might?

He doesn’t want the kids in the war any more than Aizawa does, and still all I see is «Aizawa never wanted the kids to fight and now he’d watching them die waaah» and «All Might really sent these kids to war huh???» from the same people like what

All Might spends a lot of time on Izuku ofc, but how is that different than what Aizawa does for Shinsou?

All Might is great at cheering on all the kids. He took the time to really see and understand Bakugo.

He tries to be there for Shouto with the family issues.

Your little fanon version of secretly supersoft Aizawa isn’t real, and neither is All Might the Terrible.

They’re both flawed characters who’s doing their best, but one of them is a stereotypical hot tired man, so nobody bats an eye at him.

also, don’t get me fucking started on the fact that Aizawa never seemed to notice anything is off about Shouto.

People always includes it in fics, but he never ever mentions it.

As a teacher, it should be pretty obvious that something was wrong, and even if he obviously couldn’t take Shouto out of Endevours house, he could have done SOMETHING.

Talked to him. Anything.

And I know he is traumatized. I get it. But so is All Might. And Present Mic. And Midnight.

Everyone handles trauma differently, but if your refusal to deal with it affects your ability to be compassionate and ignore your own prejudice (like how he treated Izuku vs Shinsou based on his own experience when he had no idea how hard Izuku worked or what he had been trough) maybe you should’t be a teacher.

Again, the fact that he didn’t react to how Izuku clearly had very little control over his quirk and how he kept hurting himself???

I just think he is a very flawed character, and not half as great a teacher as the fandom wants him to be.

With the recent vent, bro, I feel you there. You first don't feel safe in a server thats for anyone because the kids there bully you for your age, calling you all sorts of terrible shit (welcome to why my age is "adult" now) so you go to an adult only server, hoping ✨finally✨ you have a safe space, only for kids to violate it and access the server when they shouldn't in the first place.

Oh, thank you for your empathy and understanding! I'm sorry you've had to deal with this too. Glad to know I'm not the only one, though. Us adults are really in the trenches here.

I sat down to write a more in-depth response and was going to go with my typical "Oh I haven't been bullied, it's not that bad" shtick I normally do. But if I'm being honest with myself, that's not true at all. I have to start admitting that I've been a target for tons of dumb crap as well. I just rarely talk about it since it's all been more private drama on Discord, not anything public.

A lot of younger folk, both kids and younger adults alike, have lied to me and about me a surprising amount over the past 3 years I've been a part of the TMNT fandom. It's been multiple instances. Usually it's due to me being a mod or setting a boundary with them. Sometimes I'm even just standing there. They do this when they don't get their way or they mess up and point fingers. I have adult friends who have gone through similar experiences. It's really fucked up, and I hope one of these days it stops, because I'm tired of it.

It's part of the reason why I don't interact with kids on a personal level and will only be in adult servers now. Sadly I've found it's not exclusively a kid problem either, it's an issue of maturity that extends to some adults too. Very disappointing, from my perspective. But eh, there's always gonna be shitty folk around, that's how it goes.

Regarding kids getting into adult spaces and lying about their ages, yeah it really sucks. It's unsafe for them. And it doesn't just affect the kid, but also everyone else there too. It definitely feels very disturbing to know what a minor saw that they shouldn't have seen, and it weighs heavily on my mind. Even though it's out of my control, it's a horrible feeling. And it does make me feel unsafe and paranoid. I just want my own kid-free space, man.

And yeah, I feel ya. I wish I could be more secretive about my age too. Unfortunately, I doubt I could hide it well. I talk a little too white millennial to come off as any younger than I am. Easier to just disclose it. Besides, it makes it easier to find folks my age in the fandom, which I desperately need. But for you adults who don't want to say your age, definitely do it! It ain't worth the trouble.

In any case, I hope things get better for all of us adults who are not doing anything wrong and just minding our own business, regardless of who's around us. We deserve better treatment.

I finally created my horrible little drow woman for my evil/Mintharamancer playthrough, she’s a wild magic sorcerer with many things wrong with her. here’s a few facts about her:

Her name translates roughly to “young sister” and so naturally I decided she’s the youngest of a lot of sisters. every time I think about her backstory I add another older sister. she currently has seven.

I decided she was going to be a Vandree because I wanted her to be noble but from a much lesser house than the Baenre’s, and their recent rise in power makes sense for why she has so many sisters. and then I looked at the Vandree wiki page and realised that Minthara’s first girlfriend (the one she poisoned and held in her arms as she died) was a Vandree. I’m sure Minthara will act very normally when she discovers which house she’s from.

She is a regular Tav. however, she keeps saying durge lines for reasons I am unsure of. okay so it’s probably just a bug but it is entirely in character for her to be running around going “pave my path with corpses 🥰 build my castle with bones 😍” so I’m embracing it.

A new king

Now that Mooney was out of the picture there was a new person to take her place. The new king just so happened to be her little umbrella boy. Good for him in Harled's book. The woman looked out for the girls she took under her wing, but Fish always mistreated the guys. Though she knew how things ran on the streets, the new guy didn't. Penguin was going to have to learn that just because he was king didn't make him untouchable.

It started out with a little vandalizing, some neon spray paint outside the Iceberg Lounge. A cartoony penguin that wore a golden crown and cane with the words DONT DROP YOUR CROWN in big bold lettering along with red HaHaHa! in the shape of a crescent with the playing card shapes of a red diamond and black spade to make a grinning clown face. That was Harls signature look when in costume at the circus, a harlequin clown in red and black with his performance consisting of cardtricks and trying to sabotage the other performers. The mischievous jester, both when performing and out on the streets.

Thievery was the next step. Stealing from Penguin, both from the club and the man's personal finances. Harls would intercept deliveries of food and alcohol, taking the delivery truck for a joyride and leaving it someplace Penguin's men would find it. When he took large sums of money he would give it back, though usually in the form of random expensive things. Like a six-foot tall ice statue of an emperor penguin and three hundred pounds of swedish fish candies.

Beating down Penguin's hired hands was more challenging than the rest of his self-assigned tasks, but only by a little. Zsasz letting it slide as they were friends and Harls not intending any lasting harm to Penguin's goons plays dumb when Oswald questions him about how the others got beaten up. This all was in good fun in causing some trouble for Oswald.

The last step was to get into the club and Harled had just the thing. He arrived to the Iceburg Lounge in his harlequin costume, the one he used a little of Penguin's stolen money to upgrade to finer material and made the design a little more slutty than what he usually wore in the circus ring. Tight shorts over torn fishnet stockings, faux leather corset under a croptop jacket, a ruffle lace half skirt and knee high boots. His outfit was all red, black and white with strips and playing card symbols as the pattern. He arrived at the back entrance that the employees used and Zsasz let him right in. A high-five exchanged between the teen and the hitman before they went their separate ways in the club, Victor going to meet with Oswald up in the VIP section and Harls going out to the main floor.

The jester fit right in despite being in utterly ridiculous attire compared to the finely dressed men and women of the criminal elite and high society. Easily blending in as if he was a hired performer to entertain the club goers. Wise-cracking jokes and taking over the card table where the gambling was happening, Blackjack was the game and Harls inserted himself as dealer. With his skilled slide of hand he made it seem like everyone at the table was going to win big. Making them think they were on a lucky winning streak until he was able to bait the gamblers to go all in. That was when the cards turned and Harls made them lose everything, there was close to a million dollars on the table lost. The look on their faces were priceless, Harled cackled at how angry one mobster was that the man was red as a tomato. Harls mocked the man for his loss and threw the cards he had hidden up his sleeve at the man's face, revealing that this loss was all his control. This caused an uproar in the club, the angry gamblers now wanting to kill the clown for cheating them out of all their money.

hi friends, i have finally made my way actually back home in my apartment, and am still absolutely fucking reeling from this weekend AH

the revolver show was so much fun my goodness. the crowd was so enjoyable and i very much added to the nonsense. learned some new faces i had never seen before, yelled for my bois, tried to avoid an anxiety attack in a death match (i'm not very good with them and i forgot it was on the card or i would have peaced out for it), but all in all an incredible show

BUT BUT. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING

AFTER ALMOST TWO YEARS, WE GOT HIM. i was able to give him the drawing, which he immediately recognized and said "so YOU'RE the one who's been making all these" and i almost combusted. told him i had been waiting years for this moment and HE SAID HE HAD BEEN SAVING THE ARTS FOR YEARS LIKE. I'M GONNA CRY AGAIN THINKING ABOUT IT. he was so sweet, absolutely loved the drawing, and gia said she had a frame all ready for it. gia was also the cutest bean i adore her so much. we screamed the old lady chocolate voice from spongebob together, and i mentioned that it was my birthday and she hoped i was having the best day i cri ; ;

AND BEY. HE WAS SO EXCITED FOR THE STICKER I CAN'T. his whole face lit up when i handed it to him and he said he was gonna message me after seeing it on twitter asking for one AH. and he ended up sharing it on insta stories, which i found out the next day and cried. gotta make him one just for him next time it was so cute

also said hi to alan my beloved during intermission (literally finished a sketch of him during it to give him lol) which was after the deathmatch so bless him once again for being the cure to my anxiety. i hadn't gotten to see him wrestle yet so that was really nice to cross off finally

but yeah this was. top birthday so far. not really sure how we could honestly top it LOL, but such an amazing time. survived flying for the first time, got to cross another state off with ohio (also technically north carolina too as i had a layover in charlotte but fuck that airport), and got to see a show for a company i hadn't yet. would absolutely do it again in a heartbeat ~

The sound of the voice has the young child's antennae perking straight up. While his hearing is good, he had not detected the approach of another sapient being. Much too focused on the strange, otherwise alien sounds all around him. Dex would have scolded him for not being present enough, but... Dex was not here. It was only him.

Slowly, Zaxaria turns. On his person he holds a simple messenger bag, the clothes on his back, but nothing more to show for his midnight hunt. Slowly, his head tilts to the side. He understands the language for the most part, Dex had taught it to him for some time before sending him away, but he can't place the name of what it's called. Nor can he quite place the name Jedi Order, either.

Still, faintly glowing pink eyes settle on the emblem. That, it seems, inspires at least some familiarity.

Suitinrix, the planet that housed Idavians and Saffa alike, had had its borders closed for some time. Before Zaxaria himself was born. There were no visitors from outside worlds permitted. Zaxaria knew why, vaguely. It was because of the ongoing war between Idavay and Safin. And while there were many intricacies in relation to that, the young prince did not exactly understand all of that. He only knew that until he had come to this planet, the only flora and fauna he had seen outside his planets' had been in books.

Zax returns the smile, showing off sharp teeth with the front two jaggedly broken off. Slowly, he speaks, voice accented but understandable.

"hallo...." Nervous, but hopeful. "i am so like, i am looking for like... for something you can eat. i am like, awake at the night and sleep at the day. there is a word for this, yes, but i can't remember it right now."

His tail twitches, then curls up around himself. With no other comfort to turn to, the child hugs it while the fluffy end flicks and twitches.

"maybe you do... have little snack?"

"Danny Johnson alias Jed Oelsen, Ghostface, master of the shroud stealth ability, journalist and killer in service of the Entity." Krampus spoke, his dark vibrating voice echoing through the hallways of the RPD. Huffing and loud snorts came from the horned face, ears twitching slightly.

His hooves made a loud, clacking sound as he walked forward, snowflakes landing in his paths as the cold stare of goat eyes met the mask.

Danny really should find a better place to relax.

He froze up at the main desk, slowly bringing his gaze to the left as the soft clacks of hooves made their way towards him. He couldn't recognize the voice, not well anyways. Closest he could imagine as to who this could be was the Nemesis, but even then, it could barely speak. And then Krampus made his appearance and Danny hesitantly scooted back away in his chair, hand on his knife.

This thing knew who he was, not much of a surprise sure but it sounded so oddly confident and accusatory that it made him a little twitchy. As much as he was an absolute menace to survivors and even some killers, there wasn't much he could do against those with supernatural strength and ability. Steadying him, Danny acknowledged the other.

"Who's here to give me such a great introduction if I may ask?"

name/nicknames: lynne

fandoms: mostly the king’s avatar these days, though i lurk and read fic in others

two shots: i’m assuming this is a two part fic. i don’t think i’ve ever written any of those, at least not deliberately. I do have a two chapter fic but the chapter break was added specifically to integrate my big bang artist’s piece into the fic, it wasn’t originally by design.

fic - Five Times Yu Wenzhou Gets Stuff Thrown At His Head and the One Time He (Finally) Catches Something

most popular multi-chapter fic: haha well i write almost exclusively one-shots so there’s not much to choose from. 

and anyway, metrics are a finicky thing.

by kudos, Dressed for Sin (Shadowhunters) is the most popular. But that’s just because it’s the biggest fandom i’ve written multi-chapter fic in. By relative popularity within the fandom, this one would probably be pretty low on the list. But it’s one of my favorites because i got to write one of my favorite tropes: alternate first meetings.

Since it’s the end of the year i can indulge in a little navel gazing and say that my most popular fics overall were in leverage fandom, probably due to the size of the fandom at the time and writing What Fandom Wanted (ot3 with a focus on eliot, getting together fic with feelings).

If I was going to list my Most Popular (TM) fic based on my vibes for relative fandom popularity I’d probably say the de-aged ywz fic. I wouldn’t say it’s a popular fic overall, but in terms of what i’ve written, i feel like it’s the multi-chapter that’s gotten the deepest engagement. lol maybe because it’s the longest.

fic - Means of Transportation

lol that was a lot of words for someone who has written prob less than 10 multi-chapter fics but the year is ending and is there a better time to be self-indulgent?

actual worst part of writing: when i know exactly what i want but i just can’t get the words right. either because i don’t know exactly how to shape the plot or because the vibes are off or because i just can’t wrangle the dialogue or characterization. knowing what i want and being unable to get there is incredibly frustrating.

how do you choose your titles: I cry.

(okay, i actually do have a document where i keep snippets of lyrics and poetry but tbh they rarely come in handy. a lot of times i just blindly google lyrics to songs on my spotify playlists and hope for the best. my favorite is when i can snip a piece of narrative or dialogue to use as a title but oof the stars really have to align for that to work)

do you outline?: if the fic is longer than a scene or two, yes. it’s very helpful to know where the story is going. i also color code my outlines as I write (green, orange, red for written, in progress, and haven’t started writing yet) so i can get a quick view of where i am.

sometimes my outlines start as rambles and end up as real writing and then i can copy-paste that part of the outline into the actual fic and that is very satisfying.

callouts @ me: write that stupid, self-indulgent, silly idea!! it doesn’t have to be good, it doesn’t have to be a complete idea, it doesn’t have to be anything but fun. also, don’t feel bad about writing fifty thousand fics for the same pairing, you’re not here to be well-rounded, you’re here to have fun.

best writing traits: when i’m determined and in the midst of a project, i can be very good at sitting down regularly and doing 500 words of writing a day. which is wonderful for making progress. also i often get compliments about my characterization and humor in my fic, which i work very hard at.

spicy tangential opinion: i’m sure i have many of them but as usual, when i am asked to list them, they all *poof* into thin air. I have a not-so-spicy opinion that I hate 97% of epithets I come across and would like to throw “the smaller male” into the sun.
