"Maybe..." Randall murmured, still perplexed by Renfield's reaction-all the time he'd known the little guy, he'd been friendly to everyone, even people who didn't like him. Minnie constantly scooted him and the other strays away, but Renfield adamantly rubbed up against her legs when she was out on the sidewalk, undeterred by her dislike for him. So for him to just randomly get all worked up about someone he'd never met before was just...odd.
Still, he tried to brush it off-he also didn't miss the way Emily put on a smile and tried to laugh it off, a part of his heart sensing she was a little hurt by this response. Hoping to make her feel better about it, he said, "I'm sure he's just having an off day; don't take it too personally. I've had cats crawl all over me one day and want nothing to do with me the next, it's just how they are. Renny will probably be back later-maybe he'll be in a better mood by then."
"Since when did you get two lunchbreaks, Randy?"
"Just having a little something extra, Dave," Randall groaned, pausing to grab a napkin as he finished his sandwich, just as one of his coworkers had come downstairs for a smoke break-Dave was one of the more irritating coworkers he had to put up with on a daily basis; he insisted he was just an easy-going guy who liked a good joke, but his jokes were often hurtful and very seldom funny. Considering his idea of comedy was calling Randall "Randy" (which he had never gone by, even as a boy, and couldn't hardly stand as a nickname), it told him a lot about Dave's sense of humor (or lack thereof).
"And can I help you find anything, beautiful?" Dave asked, having noticed Emily and put on a smile, leaning up against the counter, his cigarette tucked behind his ear. "Maybe a date for Friday night? Pretty flower like you shouldn't have to hang out with a real weed like ol' Randy here."

It was more than just a rough case for you and the rest of the team. A little girl was held hostage and of course your superhero of boyfriend, Luke, decided to go up to the unsub without any backup. He only had his gun, but at least he put on his kevlar. You had a weird feeling in your stomach as soon as Luke said that he was going in. You were yelling at him to not do it, to wait for the rest of the team to arrive, but he just ignored it. You were in one of the SUV's with Tara, Matt and Spencer. Spencer, your other lover boy, took one of your hands in his, rubbing his thumb softly over the back of your hand. "He's gonna be fine", he whispered, but you only shook your head. You knew that this was probably not going to happen. The pit in your stomach only grew when you heard Emily didn't get an answer from Luke when she asked him to update her.
As soon as Matt parked the SUV, you jumped out of the car, running towards the house you knew Luke was in. Spencer wasn't fast enough to grab your arm and hold you back, so he began to run after you. But before you could even enter the house, you saw your boyfriend casually walking out with the little girl in his arms. You stopped in your tracks, causing Spencer to bump into you. You were frozen as you looked at Luke, tears of anger and relief brimming in your eyes. Spencer took a turn to walk back to the cars where Luke already informed the paramedics about the condition of the girl. Once she was in the ambulance with her parents, Emily started to lecture him about how he can't just walk into houses without any backup and all that stuff.
You were still standing on your spot, not moving a single muscle, you didn't even jump when you felt a hand on your shoulder. "Y/N? Come on, let's go back to the station", you heard Tara say as she began to slowly walk you back to the cars. Spencer was talking to Luke but you ignored them, trying to focus on Tara's hand which had moved from your shoulder to your lower back. She sat you in the back of the car and moved in beside you. "Hey, look at me", she said softly. You slowly moved your head so you could look at her. "Luke is safe, he's fine. He only has some scratches, nothing too bad", Tara tried to assure you, but it didn't work. She didn't know the dynamic of your relationship with the two men.You were Luke's, and Spencer's too, but mostly Luke's. You depended on him when you weren't at work, he always took care of you, making sure you're okay, he always knew what he had to do and you just couldn't lose him. It's not like it would be easier for you to lose Spencer, it definitely wasn't, but it was different with Luke.
The moment you saw that Spencer and Luke walked towards the car you were currently sitting in, you opened the door and got out of it, walking to the other one to drive back with your other teammates. Of course Luke took notice of that and turned to you “Y/N?“, he called out your name but you only ignored him. He jogged the last few meters which were between the two of you before he carefully grabbed your arm. “Love… please let me explain it. I just wanted to save her and that’s what I did. I’m fine, nothing happened to me besides a few scratches. I just did my job, just like you would’ve done your-“ you interrupted him. “Don’t you dare say this! I wouldn’t have done this and you know that. I wouldn’t have risked my life without any backup nearby because I do care about you and Spencer. I think about you before I make a single step into an unsubs house. I think about what I’m doing before I let my actions take over“, tears already streamed down your face and Luke tried to wipe them away but you only slapped his hand away, “I can’t lose you Luke. I can’t live without you, I don’t know how to function when you’re not there. I’m yours Luke and you know that. Yes, I’m Spencer’s too, but you, you own me Luke and if you would be dead, I wouldn’t be myself anymore. Do you have any idea how I felt when you didn’t answer Emily? How I kept thinking about finding you half dead? I bet you didn’t and now please let me go.“
Luke slowly loosened his grip on your arm, which was enough for you to pull it away and finally get into the car to drive back to the police station.
~
That was a few hours ago, now you were on your way back to Quantico. You would usually sit with your boyfriends but you couldn’t. Not right now. Spencer was talking to Luke like nothing had happened, like he just couldn’t have died in there. You slightly shook your head as you continued to read the book in your hand. It was one you got from Spencer to your last birthday. As soon as you landed and were cleared to directly go home, you didn't wait a second to walk to your car, sadly you drove together with Spencer and Luke as Garcia informed you about the case, telling you to directly drive to the jet. You opened the car door and sat down in your usual seat as you waited for the two men to get to the car. You were sitting on the passenger seat as Luke got behind the wheel and Spencer onto the seat behind you. Luke started the engine as you looked out the window, trying to ignore the cut deep tension. "Y/N?", Spencer asked. You only hummed in response, not having the strength to answer him. You just wanted to get home, take a bath and go to bed, but that wasn't what was happening. You noticed the small signs that meant that your mind was slowly drifting away, into a place you didn't want it to be, not right now. Your fidgety hands, your unfocused eyes, the rubbing of your thighs and the slight squirming were all signs that you started to slip into your subspace. And of course did your boyfriends take notice of this and that was the reason why Spencer decided to speak and why Luke decided to carefully put a hand on your thigh, testing if he could touch you and when you didn't flinch away, he completely put his large hand on your body, slowly rubbing his thumb over your clothes. "Can you tell me what's going on in your pretty little mind, my love?", Luke asked this time. You slowly turned your head towards him and nodded. "I-I thought that I lost you today and… and I can't lose you. I need you", you mumbled as tears began to roll down your cheeks again. Luke smiled sadly as he finally noticed how much his actions affected you. He gently grabbed one of your hands and squeezed it. "I'm here sweetheart and I won't go okay? When we get home we're gonna take care of you, making sure you are all relaxed and show you how much we love you. How does that sound baby?", Luke asked you again. You nodded slightly, a small smile making its way on your face. "Both of you?", you asked, your voice so quiet the two men had trouble understanding you. Spencer put one of his hands on your shoulder, gently squeezing it. "Yes, both of us", Spencer confirmed your question.
Once Luke parked the car, you opened the door, getting out of your seat while you grabbed your back. But you weren't long on your feet as you saw Spencer walking towards you and picking you up. His hands underneath your thighs as you wrapped your arms around him, hiding your face in his neck.
As soon as you were inside your shared apartment you looked up a bit, immediately spotting your mint colored collar with the little heart shaped ring. You loosened one of your hands from Spencer's jacket and tried to grab it but you were too far away causing you to whimper. You wanted to feel the soft leather and the cold of the metal around your neck. The way it fit you perfectly, not too tight and not too loose, giving you the perfect amount of pressure. But not only that, it also let you know that Luke and Spencer were still there, still your boyfriends, still your dom's, but most importantly, still alive.
Spencer heard your whimper and looked at you, following your gaze as he saw that you were looking behind him. As he saw what you were looking at he smiled. "You want to wear it sweetheart?", he asked sweetly. You nodded, "yes please." He walked up to the drawer where your collar laid on top, he took it in his hands and went over to the kitchen where he sat you down on the counter. He loosened his grip on you once he was sure that you were sitting properly but you had other plans, your grip tightened around his neck, not wanting to lose the contact. A small whine escaped your mouth, tears threatening to fall down your cheeks, as Spencer removed your arms around his neck. "I know Baby, I know", he whispered as he caressed your cheek, leaving a quick kiss on your lips.
One of Spencer's hands gently pushed away your hair, knowing that it would get caught in the collar otherwise. His lips left a trail of kisses from the corner of your lips down to your neck, sucking softly, leaving a small mark right underneath your ear. You moaned quietly, already being overly sensitive. Spencer smirked as he finally put the collar around your neck, carefully securing it. Once he was satisfied with the fit of it, he put your hair back down. You were relaxing more and more, all worries slowly leaving your mind.
Spencer picked you up again, carrying you into the large bedroom in your apartment. You had your eyes closed but as soon as Spencer stepped into the room, you had the typical smell of candles in your nose which caused you to open your eyes. The only light in the room were the few candles which Luke put on while Spencer was occupied with you. They put the bedroom in a nice dim light, perfect for what the two men had planned. As soon as Spencer put you back down on your feet again, Luke wrapped his arms around you, leaning his forehead against the back of your head. You closed your eyes again, savoring the moment and the heat which radiated off Luke. He was already only wearing his boxers, knowing that any other clothing would be in the way.
In the meantime Spencer also put off all his clothes except his briefs. He was going over to the bed, sitting on the end of it. Luke carefully guided you over, stopping when you were standing between Spencer's legs. They both began to undress you at the same time, Luke helping you out your dress shirt and your bra while Spencer was struggling to open the small button on your pants. He finally got it open and slid the pants down your legs, immediately taking your panties with it. He threw them away once you stepped out of them.
Spencer pushed himself further up on the bed, sitting against the headboard. He motioned for you to come and lay between his legs, your back against his chest. You did what he asked you to do. "You alright sweetheart? You ready for us to make you feel good?", Luke asked as he climbed on the bed too, finding his place between your legs, head first on his stomach, placing both of his arms underneath your thighs. You nodded but you felt Luke squeezing your thighs one time, knowing what that meant, you gave him a vocal answer "mhm, yes please". You weren't able to say much more, your mind already clouded.
This was enough for Luke to leave kisses all over your inner thighs, casually sucking on overly sensitive spots, causing you to let out small moans and whispers. Spencer on the other hand was occupied with gently massaging your boobs, twisting both your nipples from time to time while leaving wet kisses along your jaw and neck. Your eyes were closed, your head leaning against Spencer's chest. Your back arched when you felt Luke's tongue licking one long stripe along your folds, a loud moan leaving your mouth.
"Luke, please", you moaned again as he began to softly suck on your clit. "Please what Sweetheart? You gotta use your words", he mocked as he continued to suck on your clit. "Please, I need your fingers", you whimpered and as soon as the words left your mouth, you could feel one of Luke's fingers teasing you.
Spencer continued to play with your nipples and leaving marks all over your upper body, at least the parts he could reach from his position. You were a moaning mess, not able to form a complete sentence and thought. The only thing on your mind were the two men who were currently giving their all to make you feel loved and appreciated. You always loved to feel Luke's fingers inside, it was one of the best feelings ever. His fingers weren't as long as Spencer's but they were thicker which meant that 2 of Luke's fingers were stretching you as much as 3 of Spencer's.
Luke noticed how close you were, clenching around his fingers, he sped up his pace, careful not to overwhelm you. His fingers and Spencer's hands which were still all over your upper body were enough to send you over the edge. The orgasm made you shake, your thighs clenching together, your back arched and your head pressed even more against Spencer's chest. Luke and Spencer kept praising you, telling you how good you were for them, telling you how much they love you.
It took a few minutes until you calmed down enough to open your eyes again. You loved the sight in front of you. Luke had put a shirt on, smiling down at you as he opened his arms. Spencer slowly let go of you when he was sure that you wouldn't collapse back into his body. You didn't trust your body, or more like, your legs, enough to properly carry you yet, so you decided to crawl over to him. Once you reached him, Luke took you into his arms, pressing you against his chest as you let out a quiet sigh.
You were coming down from your high, coming back down to earth which Luke took notice of, so he decided to free you from your collar. But what he didn't know was that you wanted to keep it on. Grabbing his arm at a speed, he didn't expect, you shook your head. "I-I wanna keep it on please", you said as you looked at him with puppy eyes. "Of course my love, anything you want", he replied, looking behind you to see that Spencer was getting off the bed, walking towards the closet to pull out a shirt for himself and new clothes for you.
He came over to Luke and you, once he pulled his shirt over his head. He carefully placed one of Luke's shirts over your body as the other man in the room helped you up on your feet which made it easier for Spencer to slip the fresh panties up your legs. Once the two men were satisfied, they laid back down on the back with you in the middle. Feeling both of their heartbeats it didn't take you long to fall asleep.

Kipo x Reader Part 2
Summary: Kipo is finally able to turn you back into a human along with her mom. Season 3 final episode with two different endings.
Warnings: Light cursing? Spoiler if you haven't watched Season 3.
Tumblr media
After capturing Scarlemagne and retuning to the Timbercats forest, Kipo immediately started working on a way to deal with Emelia and to turn you and her mother back to normal. It was lonely inside your head, it was just you and your panther, if this was what it was like for Song for all those years it must have been terrible. It also sucked to be so close yet so far from Kipo. At least you got to watch Lio question Kipo about your relationship and laugh at how much she blushed and went over some details of what had happened in the last months. It did sadden you however, where after talking about a memory with you, she started crying. You wanted to just turn into a human and hug the crap out of her.
You were stuck as a panther all through Kipo trying to make HMUFA and would try to go everywhere you could with her. Most days were boring since you weren't allowed inside the Timbercat's home and some days Kipo couldn't come and visit you and tell you about her day. It had been a few days since you've seen Kipo but when she turns up she's not alone. Following Kipo is her father and your friends. She seemed to be holding this small pink dart and was walking slowly, making sure not to drop it. You knew from how careful she was with it that it was very important and stepped back to let her go to her mom first. You watched as Kipo hugged her mom's finger and stuck the dart into it, taking it out once it was half way empty. You watched for a few seconds in silence before you watched, in shock, as Song slowly turned back into a human and got to meet Kipo as a human for the first time in years. You were smiling so wide at the happiness that was radiating off of Kipo and her family.
You almost forgot that Kipo still had half the dart left but remembered when she walked up to you. You're heart was beating out of your chest, you were about to be able to hug Kipo again, hold her, kiss her, love her. Sadly, you would lose the mute side of you but you didn't have an anchor or anything so it wasn't the big of a loss. You leaned down as Kipo got closer and held your paw to her. Seeing her up close made you realize that she had been crying, tears of happiness of course. You flinched a little as she stuck the needle into your skin but froze as she took it out. There was another second of intense silence before you felt weird and felt yourself start to shrink.
After a couple of seconds you were almost eye level with Kipo, you are taller than her. You look down at yourself for a couple seconds in shock before looking back up at Kipo, who had the biggest smile on her face and even more tears running down her face. "Kipo..." You whisper, your voice cracking some after not using it for a while. Kipo immediately launches into your arms and you spin her around some holding her just as tightly. You put Kipo back down and put your hands on her cheeks with a big grin before pulling her into a kiss. You almost forget anyone else is there until you hear Lio clear his throat. You pull back with a blush in your face and turn to look at your friends and Kipo's parent with a smile. You walk up to them with Kipo still wrapped around you and greet everyone. "It's great to talk to you guys again.
*Boop Boop Time Skip*
"Kipo! You gotta get up!" Lio yells as he held Song close to him. "Emilia's lost it!" You yell in concern as you watch the mute version of Emilia hold a building over her head. "We gotta do something!" Benson says in concern. You hear some rummaging and look to over to Lio and Song just in time to see Scarlemagne take off in his flamingo car. "What is he doing?" You ask in concern as you watch him get closer and closer to Emeila. "Holy..." Your eyes get big as you watch Scarlemagne hit Emilia causing her to fall and for him to go flying through the sky.
You notice that Kipo is slowly waking up and run to her as she changes back to normal. You help her stand and watch as Mute Emilia runs away. "Where... Where's Scarlemagne?" Kipo asks after she catches her breath. You watch as Lio and Song look over to where smoke was coming from the ground. "No." Kipo says as she collapses into your side and puts her hand over her mouth. Lio reaches out and outs a comforting hand on her shoulder. "It'll be fine, me and Song will go check on him. You guys should probably go deal with Emilia." You nod your head as Kipo turns into a Mute again and let's you, Benson, and Wolf hop on.
"There she is." You say and point towards a cowering Mute Emilia. You all hop off of Kipo and let her turn back to normal. Kipo takes the last dart from Wolf and walks up to Mute Emilia. You debate silently whether or not to follow Kipo as she walks up to Mute Emilia.
(I'm being extra so there is two ends depending on what you do. I'm also not writing in Hugo's death or the flash forwards because I feel like I'm making this run on too much😅.)
You don't follow Kipo:
You stand with Wolf and Benson with your arms crossed. "I guess it's over after this... huh." You say as you all stare ahead and watch Kipo interact with Mute Emilia. "Yeah it's been a crazy ride." "Seriously." Wolf said agreeing with Benson. "What are you guys gonna do after this?" You say looking over to Benson and Wolf. Benson shrugs, "Probably do something with Troy, maybe take a vacation." "Yeah I could dig that." You all stand in silent as you watch Kipo turn Emilia back to normal. Then you all run up as you watch Kipo push Emilia, causing her to fall into a kid like goo. "Holy..." You say as you stand behind Kipo. "It's over... it's officially over." She says as she leans back into you, exhaustion finally seeming to set in. You turn her around to wrap your arms around her and hug her. You give her a kiss on the side of her head before speaking. "After checking on Hugo, you and I are going on a long vacation... Or sleeping for a week straight." You feel Kipo chuckle against your collar bone before nodding her head. "I'm good with either as long as I'm with you."
You follow Kipo:
You follow behind Kipo a little, taking time to take in how big Emilia's mute form actually is. "And to think... She turned into what she wanted to get rid of just to take you out." You say thinking out loud. "She definitely got desperate." Kipo doesn't respond and has a quick conversation with Mute Emilia before finally pricking her finger with the dart. You watch as Emilia slowly turns back to normal and sits on the ground. You make sure to stand next to Kipo to seem more intimidating in case Emilia tried something. "Why did you change me back?" Emilia asks with some confusion in her voice. "No one deserves to be stuck like that." Kipo sticks out her hand to Emilia. "You've been stuck in the dark for a long time Emili, but you have a choice. You can stay there or fight through it."
You watch as Emilia seemingly thinks for a minute, weighing her choices. You watch warily as Emilia grabs Kipo's hand. Something about this doesn't feel right to you. You watch in slow motion as Kipo pulls Emilia up, only for her to lunge at Kipo with a piece of glass. Your body goes into immediate protection mode and you push yourself in front of Kipo. As Emilia stabs you, you punch her across the face. Emilia flails for a moment, off balance, before falling back and over the edge. You let out a breath of relief before feeling an intense pain in your stomach. You look down to see a large glass shard sticking out of your stomach with blood coming out fast.
You stumble back a little and start to fall as Kipo catches you and lowers you to the ground. "No no no no." Kipo says as she cradles the upper half of your body. You hear Wolf, Benson, Dave, and Mandu run up. "Oh no..." You wince as Kipo puts pressure on your wound, mumbling like crazy to herself in worry. "Ow... Kipo. Kipo stop!" You say as you grab her hand away from your wound. "It's okay, everything will be okay." You say trying to reassure her. You knew you were too far away to get help from anyone and were losing to much blood to make any sort of journey. "It's not okay! It's over we won! You can't give up now!" Kipo says as she's sobbing. You put one of your hands on Kipo's cheek and cringe a little when you see blood on your hand.
"You're right we did it, we won. And I couldn't be any more prouder of you." Kipo leans down and puts her forehead against yours. "It's not fair I just got you back, I can't lose you again. Especially not permanently." You close your eyes tightly trying not to let any tears spill over. You look over to see Benson hugging Dave and Wolf hugging Mandu. "You'll be okay, maybe not immediately but one day. You still have our friends by your side and I'll be watching over you. I promise." Kipo just shakes her head not wanting to respond. You can feel yourself slipping away and hate it. It wasn't supposed to end like this, after all the work you did, why couldn't you get a happy ending. "I love you so much. All of you. I am so glad I got to meet such amazing people and to fall in love with one of them." You pull Kipo's head away from yours to look into her eyes one more time. "I love you so much." You say as the world around you blurs and you close your eyes for the final time.
Lio and Song watch as Kipo in Jaguar form walk up to the building there at, kneeling next to Hugo. They watch as her friends slide off her back and are confused when they don't see you. Before they could open there mouths and ask, they watch as Kipo turns back to human form and is carrying you in her arms, tears still streaming down her face. "Oh no."

Canon and OC; Deigo x OC, Klaus x OC platonic
*as always I do not own any part of the canon characters or show. I am merely writing my own adaptation to the storyline. Nor do I own any gifs/gif credit.
**I do own all things related to the OCs and additional story elements. And apologies, I couldn't find any "young" gifs of them, but they are all meant to be young adults to show age in this fic.

On a typical sunny day in 1989 a girl was born under extraordinary circumstances - her mother beginning the day not pregnant and ending it with a newborn girl. Reginald Hargreaves was unable to purchase their gift from God, but as fate would have she would still become linked to the obsessive billionaire through Klaus, his disappointing Number Four.
One fateful night in her bar thrust the two into each other's life and they soon became close friends, their tragic pasts a common denominator. Emily tried to aid her friend and his family in thwarting the apocalypse, but her life ultimately lost when the shit inevitably hit the fan.
This is not that story.
Our story takes place five years after the Hargreaves family jumped back in time after unsuccessfully saving the world; bringing with them all the knowledge gained from their first chance at life.
-----
"I'm telling you Diego. We can do this," Klaus said pleadingly to his brother. "She said if she had only gotten out a few years earlier, she would have had a better chance at life. We can give her that chance."
Diego stopped just outside his room. He eyed Klaus as he begged for him to agree.
"Please Diego. She is...was my friend," he corrected himself. This time travel thing was hard to get used to. "I owe it to her to at least try."
It was true that Emily had been as good a friend as someone could to Klaus back then. He'd beena raging drug addict who brought nothing but chaos. There weren't many people who could handle something like that. She'd been one of the few; even managing to get him into rehab a few times.
Not that it had mattered. Klaus had a standing bed there back then and the staff a running pool on how short his next break would last.
But it had been obvious she at least cared for him. And that was more than Diego could say for himself. Klaus was his brother and he had given two shits at the time if he lived or died.
"Fine," he finally agreed.
"Yes!" Klaus said quietly, but triumphantly.
With his second time around, he wanted to get it right. Make amends for his previous infractions.
Starting with this.
"But we do this my way. You got it," he said definitively, getting close enough to stop Klaus' little victory dance. He wanted to make sure his brother understood just how serious he was.
"Got it," Klaus said with a mock salute. "If I remember correctly, right around now would be the 'Halloween lockdowns' as Em liked to call it," Klaus said with a small smirk Diego's way.
His brother looked at him confused "Lockdowns? Where is she? A prison?"
Oh, that's right. He doesn't know.
It had taken Klaus awhile to pull what nuggets she had revealed of her past. He knew, without a doubt, Diego hadn't gotten shit out of her. The few times they'd met his brother was partial to being an asshole to anyone who even remotely took Klaus' side and she had been no different.
"She's at a religious boarding school," Klaus explained quickly. "A real scared straight kinda one. From what she told me though, the night before Halloween the nuns do one final sweep of the grounds, leaving the front door unlocked."
"Pfft. Morons," Diego huffed, the fact that he was speaking of godly women lost to him completely. "So it's a dash and grab. Easy."
"Yeeaa...about that," Klaus began tentatively. Diego had only just agreed to spring Emily from Hell.
"What?" Diego asked lowly. He knew he shouldn't have gotten his hope up so easily. Nothing was ever so cut and dry with Klaus.
"She's also, sort of, kinda in her own lockdown. We may need Five to help us too," he added reluctantly. "Which is fine," he quickly continued, keeping Diego from immediately changing his mind. "Ever since we got back Five has really been a team player. I'm sure if our little heist idea came from you he'd be on board. A hundred percent."
Diego couldn't take this shit with Klaus a second go 'round. He wanted to break Emily out of school? Fine. He needed Diego's help? Also, peachy fuckinf keen. But if he insisted on keeping secrets along the way then Diego would walk his happy ass on out the door and Klaus could go fuck himself.
He grabbed hold of his brother, who flinched more from shock than fear, and drug him into his room, away from listening ears. He tossed his brother onto his bed as gently as he could. Klaus watched as he pulled his desk chair over, sitting on it backward and leaning against it.
"Before I ask Five anything you are gonna spill your guts and give me all the Intel you have on Emily. Otherwise, I'm out and you're on your own."
Klaus groaned with Diego's ultimatum. "Fine," he grumbled. "I'll tell you everything. But you have to swear you'll get Five to help no matter what," he countered holding up his pinky.
"What are you, six?"
"Nothing is more binding than a pinky swear," Klaus said, wiggling his fingers enticingly.
"You never quit do you?"
"Nope," Klaus said with a satisfied grin.
"Jesus Christ." Diego sighed with a roll of his eyes, but nevertheless he linked pinkies with his brother.
"No matter what," Klaus reiterated.
"No matter what," Diego reluctantly agreed before immediately letting go of him.
"Good," Klaus said clapping his hands together and rubbing them conspiratorially. "Now. What do I know about Emily?" he asked himself, feigning an attempt to really dig deep into his thoughts. "Em, Em, Em."
"I'm losing my patience Klaus."
"Alright, fine," Klaus said with an exasperated sigh. Nothing much had changed with Diego this time around - he was still far too serious for his own good. "I know she was one of the few dad couldn't buy, obviously. I deduced that one myself," he admitted proudly.
Diego rolled his eyes and sighed. Even without drugs Klaus' mind still ran a million miles a minute. "Focus," he said keeping his brother on track.
"Right," he replied forcing himself back to their present storytelling session. "She was unbuyable. Her parents were religious and pure," he said mockingly, throwing up the the scouting sign of three fingers. "When Em didn't fit it to their perfect life, they shipped her off and forgot about her. To St. Christopher's School for the Misguided to be exact."
"You mean that old school convent on the outskirts of the city?"
"That's the one," Klaus said in agreement. "She's been there..." he checked his wrist as if a watch sat upon it. "Twelve years now," he added looking back to Diego.
"Twelve years?! What the Hell Klaus?? I thought she was just sent there."
"Yea. When she was six," Klaus said with a snort. "That was after all the exercisims failed," he added nonchalantly.
"Exorcisms!?" Diego was beginning to regret his decision to help. "Look. I don't know what kind of "school" you're taking me to, but how do we know Emily even wants to break out?" he asked in a half-hearted attempt to back out.
"Because she makes it out on her own after another three years anyway. But she always said if she'd got out just a few years earlier she'd have gone farther in life. Between you and me, I thought she turned out just fine the way she was," he added leaning in conspiratorially.
"I don't know about that. She was friends with you."
"Hey! Unfair!" Klaus said feigning offense. "Trust me," he continued, shrugging off the insult. "Once Five is on board, everything will be fine," he said reassuringly, but with little affect. "Then it really will be a dash and grab. Five will just do his little time warp thingie and..." He sucked air through his teeth and gestured for in-and-out. "We'll have Em out and free as a bird in no time," he added with a sigh and a smile.
Diego stared at him, only reacting when his wide grin faded. His mind had already been made up, but it was sti fun to see him sweat. He promptly grabbed him up and pulled toward the hallway - and all the way to Five's room.
------
"Klaus has something he wants to ask you," he said pushing past their brother when he answered the door.
"And what might that be?" he asked, confusion evident on his face as he shut the door behind them.
Once through the threshold doego released his grip on Klaus and took solace off in the corner, waiting to see how well he did with Five. Their brother would be a much tougher sell. He'd never even met Emily.
"Well," Klaus began with a nervous laugh, glancing back to Diego hoping to get some backup. His brother simply urged him on. Klaus sighed and his entire being deflated with his refusal.
"Klaus, what the hell is going on? I don't have time for another one of your ridiculous pranks," Five complained impatiently.
"I need your help rescuing a friend," he admitted freely, turning back to Five.
Five laughed freely at his request. "No," he said letting his facial expressions fall flat. "The last time I tried to help you I ended up having to warp out of police custody."
"But you did get out," Klaus cut in trying to avoid a retelling of their most recent mishap.
"And I had to be the one to explain it all to dad. Alone," he added with rising anger.
Klaus grimaced. "Yea. Sorry about that. I wish I could have been there, really, but something important came up. Real now-or-never type stuff."
"What? Like avoiding the inevitable end of the world? Because last I remember we've already fixed that problem and I can't think of anything more "now-or-never"," he threw back at him.
He knew Five was right. "I guess when you put it like that, I could have made it," he admitted almost sheepishly.
Five merely scowled at his admission.
"But this is different," he added quickly, pushing past Five when he went to kick them out of his room. Klaus shut the door and leaned on it for added security he would finish hearing him out.
"How so?"
Klaus' smile returned. His interest was piqued. "Because we...are gonna..."
Diego rolled his eyes. His sales pitch was quickly dying. "Because you're gonna have me," he stepping forward.
"Not that I don't doubt yoir abilities, but how does that any different? Other than your presence of course."
Their brother's smile widened. "Yes!" he exclaimed before Diego could answer, outstreching his arms toward him and crossing to be by his side. "Because Diego here is an extra set of eyes and ears," he added, cradling his shoulders and endearingly placing his hand on his chest.
Diego glared at Klaus. "Because I will make sure Klaus doesn't screw anything up this time," he answerd shaking himself free.
Five remained silent, considering Klaus 'mission'. He had become anxious lately to do more than just train and follow daddy's orders - even if it was what they all agreed to before their jump back. Not that he would ever admit that to Klaus, but he supposed it could be worth it of Diego was on board.
Klaus stated expectantly and his brother who eyed the two of them. "Say I help you. What is your grand plan to save...who exactly?"
Klaus smiled widely at Diego, ecstatic that things might actually go his way for once.
"Emily," Diego answered, ignoring Klaus.
"Emily?" Five asked surprised with a slight laugh. "You mean the bartender psychic?"
"Telepathic," Klaus corrected him. "But yes. Her. So will you help me? Please?"
Diego rolled his eyes at the duo. "Just say yes already. I can't take much more of this," he added exasperated, dropping down onto the chair at Five's desk.
"Alright fine," he finally agreed.
Klaus began to shower his brother with thabks. He sure hadn't been as appreciative of Diego's allegiance. He huffed to hide his offense. "Klaus!" He pointed at his wrist when he had his brother's attention.
"Oh right. So. Now that I have the best two brothers on board..."
"Klaus," Diego warned.
"Alright, alright. Stop getting your panties in a bunch."
Diego jumped up ready to strangle him.
"Hey! Calm down!" Five intervened. "Don't make me regret helping you," he scolded his brothers. "Now," he continued once the two had parted ways. "When and how are we supposed to save Emily? And from what?"
"I'm glad you asked," Klaus responded slyly before repeating the plan to Five
------
"There it is," Klaus whispered to his brothers, pointing out their entry point.
They crouched hidden among the bushes just outside the point of no return. A nun came out of the front door, followed by two others, and just as Klas said left the door open. Diego huffed quietly to himself and rolled his eyes. Klaus smiled widely.
"Okay," Five said shifting his jacket and bit and readying to jump. "Where is her room?" he asked staring at the building.
It was your typical, old-school convent turned boarding opp. The layout would be easy to figure out.
Klaus shut his eyes and mimicked going over a map with his fingers. "It should be, if memory serves me right, last one on the left, second floor," he said opening his eyes and looking toward the building too. "She always said one of the only good things she remembered about this place were the sunsets," he said quietly to himself with a sad sigh. "West side," he added.
And just like that Five was gone.
-----
He reappeared with a small pop in a girl's room. She was sound asleep, her back to where Five now stood. He crept to her bed and gently tried waking her.
"Emily," he whispered. "Emily wake up."
The girl began to stir, turning toward him. The sight of a boy by her bed had to be a dream. She rubbed her eyes and yawned, sitting up to wake up further. The realization that he was real hit her. Her eyes grew wide in terror and she screamed.
Five quickly covered her mouth. "Emily, please."
She quieted her screams realizing who he was and the fear in her eyes grew to confusion. She mumbled something into his hand.
"What?" he whispered, uncovering her mouth.
"I'm not Emily," she managed to stammer out quietly.
