With a nod, he finished drying off, tossing the towel into a nearby chair. Whether Sam had donned them because subconsciously he knew Bucky would come for him tonight or because he just wanted to feel close to the other man, Sam couldn’t say for sure. HTP Fic Recs: Hidden Gems

Have you, like me, devoured everything in the Hydra Trash Party AO3 tag and are desperate for more? Well you may be in luck.

In honor of CATWS's 10th anniversary I’ve decided, yet again, to make a new rec list so that these gems don't get buried in my overwhelmingly extensive original rec list. This list features HTP and HTP-adjacent fics that are NOT tagged as HTP (either because the author didn't know the label existed or didn't believe it applied to their fic), making them particularly hard to find, and I think, deserving of more attention.

Many of these fics don’t have much, if any, explicit noncon, but noncon is often implied or referenced and they’re all rife with other types of dehumanization and abuse so the usual HTP warnings still apply. Read tags carefully etc.

The Making of the Winter Soldier [series] by CluckU & Mumble_Bee Relationship: Hydra Agents/WS, Zola/WS Words: 13,700

There are a small, precious collection of things he knows for certain each time he wakes in his chair: He is a weapon. A soldier. An asset. He is being molded into the Fist of Hydra. He must prove himself. Failure is not an option.

This was the point where he suspected people felt fear, especially staring into those unfocused cold eyes. He only felt a twisted fascination.

i'm gonna answer this in good faith -

the origin is from back in 2022 when i was super into HTP and was ALSO watching a fuckton of TFATWS over and over again and was fixated on our little baby bird, Torres

i asked everyone to send me fic requests (i do the whole smut writing thing) and @sparklingbinjuice was like: IDEA 💡

(this is first fic on AO3 in the Rumlow/ Torres tag - if you go to check it out, you should DEFINITELY mind the warnings, pretty much anything to do with Rumlow should and usually does fall under Dead Dove Do Not Eat territory)

anyway, much later (in 2024), i watched What If...? and fell hard for Secretary Bucky and attack dog Rumlow and thought that Bucky could use an intern (Torres)

this new influx may or may not be my fault tbh though it's also WILD to me that it's filling the tags so rapidly, i don't think anyone was expecting that - but the above is the origin as far as i'm (and the starting of the AO3 tag) is concerned

but in general and to answer your question as simply as possible:

it's because we thought it would be hot 🤷
