Pelipper Mail - Birthday Gifts for Polaris!!!!

A rather large package arrives. opening it reveals a bunch of gifts.

[The first is a rather large cake in a brown box. It. Looks cursed to say the very least.

The icing is menacingly red and clumpy and written on the top in blue is "Happy birth" with the rest of the word smudged off in travel. On top of the cake are the number candles 36. Pink sprinkles have been put atop it to make it look less menacing. Upon slicing and eating the cake you would find it actually was perfectly cooked and mixed, the decoration had just gone awry.

The first proper present is a landyard with a bunch of hisuian pokemon on it, and some keychains and badges already attached to it.

The second is a thick set of pink gloves with purple accents, and a matching pink gas mask, custom made to fit polaris.

The third is a bunch of Pochacco from Sanrio merch. Including a bracelet, a fluffy hat, and a plushie, along with a bunch of trinkets from a familiar arcade.

The fourth is some books, a book of poems, written in ancient Sinnohian, a childrens book about two cyndaquil going on adventures and a book on enamourus.

The fifth is a bunch of johtoian candy and parischu themed beanie with big blue spikes.

first of all, the cake made me laugh. congrats i am now a decade older. oh my. it tasted wonderful, despite its appearance.

Beedrill: The lanyard is lovely and very cute. I've put my keys on them, and as such will never lose them again. It's a very thoughtful gift. The keychains and pins are very sweet as well.

Casey: The gloves are very nice. I was thinking about buying a pair for myself and you beat me to it, so thank you very much. The pink gas mask is also very cool, and I'm sure it'll do me well when we inevitably introduce the stunky line to the sanctuary haha.

Tari: I remember your sanrio critters. You made Delta Kuromi i think. Pochacco is a very cute little character. I think you picked well for me. I'm wearing the bracelet on my lanyard, as I fear it would snap on my working hands. The plushie and the hat are very very soft and nice. And the arcade trinkets are wonderful, they will go straight on the shelf once im home

Delta: I've never seen nor heard of this book of poems. It's incredible Delta. And the cyndaquil book- I had a very similar one growing up. It's gone now of course but- You act like you aren't good at giving gifts but you are very adept. And the Enamorus book is also wonderful. They will give me wonderful things to read on the plane home. And of course a secret other thing. I shouldn't be surprised haha.

Sprite: Hello, my wonderful, loving son. I miss you so much. The beanie is very cute. There is a pachirisu litter who came into the sanctuary. They are named after stars. One of them is very sweet and a bit too comfortable with people. Will you laugh at me if I come home with her? She comes to my window and she makes me smile. I hope I can play video games with you soon.

And for all of you: I love you all so much, and I miss you dearly. I'm trying to come home as soon as I can, but I barely have the energy to get out of bed, let along push my wheelchair without- him. Bird gently pushes open a door to what must be Polaris' room. The lights are off, and Skie quickly turns the light switch on.

Polaris grumbles from their bed, and Skie snorts, gently ushering Bird over to go properly wake up Polaris. Bird trots over to the bed, gently and shyly nudging at Polaris to get up. They sit up, rubbing their eyes and murmuring something unintelligible to Bird, who gives them a shy smile, and points to Skie.

(Polaris doesn't look well. Their hair is messy and tangled, and there are obvious tear streaks on their face.)

Skie counts to three, and xe and Bird break out in what seems to be a rendition of Happy Birthday in Ancient Sinnohian. Polaris' eyes go wide as they realize what's happening, and a small smile crosses their face. As the song ends, Skie brings the cake over to Polaris' lap, and Polaris lets Bird blow out the candles for them. Skie turns and gives a big grin and thumbs up to the camera.

okie i need to talk about my dream kitchen

genuine since i-could-stand cook. professionally done prep, line, baking, and even a teeny bit of recipe development, i have a lot to say

i need my kitchen to be a place where i get to talk to people as i cook, and those people are not cooking. not like open concept, i would want a separate living and dining room, but like if there was a party happening....... id want to be able to pull aside my besties..... wait idk maybe i do want open concept.

fuck. okay. idk how much of an audience i want as i cook but i know i want at least a close friend or two to be able to sit around and chat as im finishing off a meal for us.

idk why but i dont love breakfast bars? the stools are always a lil too high&swiveling to get into smoothly, and im a tall person who loves a spinny chair so it's weird that that bugs me. but i like a breakfast nook!! our kitchen growing up had a mid hight half moon table up against the wall opposite the main counter space, and since it was a small room and just about the same hight, that table was basically a big prep counter.

i cant live without a dishwasher. not worth elaborating.

spice rack should be visible!! it should be one row!! it should be massive!!! i want just like one wall to be covered in rows of 2in deep wooden shelves with a 1cm rounded lip to keep jars/other small things in place while being very visible. each row could be a little but further apart so that some rows are for short bottles and then some are for taller ones like olive oil. this would also be more visually fun than keeping the distance the same, and i naturally order my bottles by size anyways. size/type of bottles but also with regards to type of flavor! i keep all my warm spices in one clump, which is next to the spicy spice clump, leading into the earthy spice clump, and then the herbs. vanilla goes by the warm spices, olive oil and s&p are at the far right end after the herbs, and all my spice blends & wildcard types (msg &lemon pepper) are on the top shelf.

trash and recycling belong under the sink, in one of those smooth fancy pull out cabinets. for compost, (which, i dont compost currently but this is ny dream kitchen, i dream what i want) a large clear container on the counter so that i am more likely to empty it in my immediate cooking clean up. something sturdy& easy to clean but still pretty enough to leave out on the counter.

BIG WINDOWS. why would i want to look at a wall when i could look outside? put a window in the sightline of main work area.

i think for overall layout, having a big central island with a stove and sink might be what works best for me. not huge! wait lemme add a visual.

cause honestly? if we're talking dream dream kitchen, its gunna have to be round. and if i said fuck it, no one can talk to me while im cooking, it would be a rounded triangle. i need to be able to get to everything quickly and see where everything is. baristas especially know that you want to set everything in a triangle cause then!! because then!!!!!! no matter where you are, the place you need to go to next, is right next to you. this is beautiful to me. and it should be slightly rounded because geometry/physics/bubbles has proven that a circle/sphere is the most efficient route around something, and being a line cook with adhd has means that i will basically drift race my way around a kitchen. i need my ideal routes!!! and i need to have sharp corners eliminated because i will run into them and i am tired of having bruises on my hips!!!

i know! i know! rounded room means rounded appliances, which don't exist. but my dream kitchen will not be limited by your farmhouse sink.

i'm not sure what kinda counter i'd want. i have a soft spot for granite, and it is heat safe, but my brain now links a nice stainless steel surface to the kitchen so hard that i think it'd feel odd at this point not to work with that as my backdrop.

she's so sexy but she's so sexy it's distracting. great for the bathroom right off the kitchen, not for a counter where i need to focus on the knife in my hand.

god i love tigers eye so much. again, its far too interesting for a work surface but i love how it feels like an aquarium?? and the way tigers eye glows, especially when you have blue and gold together like this, it feels like more of a window than a wall.

yeah the stainless is calling to me... i wish i could have a wood counter but i need her to be heat-safe and meat-safe.

hanging pots n pans rack i think. ideally i would have pot and pans that are so stunning (and have removable handles i guess?) that they can double as serving dishes too. there's these like camping kinda pans i think that have handles that clamp onto the main bit of the pan. i just really want some nicely shaped carbon steel cookware, and also a good dutch oven with a sweet design.

brooke sheilds has a little shelf above her stove, right below the range, stealing that idea which isnt even originally hers anyway. i used to have a stove that had a more flat wide top bump bit and we used that as a little salt pepper and oil shelf, its very handy.

idk maybe im just really missing the house i grew up in.

I’ve had a succulent for six months and I have not watered it nor cared for it and it’s still alive so…

I have my notes on my phone and in it are about 807 entries ranging from random shit like a single word “zoo” with no context or explanation. Entire novels that I was writing and gave up on the last chapter, also conversations with no context between characters that I made up that have no names. Also, recipes for stupid things like Mac and cheese balls, ideas for artwork/stories/products. Essentially nothing is finished. I also have around 10 sketchbooks that have never been completed.

All of them but the ones that are like brown and then transition to blueish greenish at the edges at trippy and cool.

It’s name is Chicky and it’s actually I think supposed to be a stuffed duck, but I was 2 so I called it Chicky. Fun fact, my mom and everyone would ask me if Chicky was a a boy or a girl because I would call it he and she interchangeably and usually just Chicky. And my response would always be. “It’s just Chicky” and then they would ask “but is it a boy or girl?” And my three year old self was just like “??? Are you not paying attention? It’s a Chicky” so yeah I was fighting gender normatively at a young age, I was a pretty woke 3 year old.

I’m hella picky about nice pens but I don’t care how they look just how they write.

Fourth of July a couple years ago with my cousins. My aunts house is on a lake and the sky is super clear and we could see satellites orbiting. First time I’ve ever seen satellites. Super cool.

Spring break when I finally got back home from college I took a heavy dose of Benadryl because of allergies and I woke up in my own bed feeling soft and sleepy and I had not responsibilities at the moment and it was great.

I like the aesthetic of record players but I do not have the patience to actually go out and buy one, pull out a record, and put it on to listen to the music. 1) because I’m all about instant gratification bc I have like no self control so if I can play it in two seconds on my phone then why would I go through all the trouble of a record and 2) I rarely like all the songs from an album. My music taste is all over the place so even if I like a band I like maybe 3 of there songs and they’d be from different albums.

I collected coke cans and bottles. Like any special/old/limited edition coke cans or bottles I would keep them. I have a whole shelf in my closet. I now collect mugs.

Yes, and not to be mainstream but Edgar Allen Poe is my bro and according to my grandma we’re related to him through his cousin. But in middle school I had a really awesome English teacher who was obsessed with him and I basically know “The Raven” “Tell Tale Heart” “The cask of Amontillado” and “Annabelle Lee” memorized because of her.
