Essay!!
edit after 1000+ words: I'm so sorry oh my fucking god. I didn't realize how many thoughts I had. I had so many. So fucking many. This got so long. You don't need to read it all. Jesus Christ. Thank you for asking. I had fun.
I'm glad you asked, I nearly wrote my 20+ page senior seminar paper on this topic so, while I have none of the sources together or any super strong body paragraphs, an overview should be ezpz laimon shqueez-ee.
Brief personal context: I finished 2/3 of my undergrad in the Philosophy program at a small liberal arts college, then switched to Creative writing for reasons that will become apparent. I was raised by intellectual dickheads who rely heavily on clever rhetoric to "win" conversations (yes, even with literal toddlers), so I have an unyielding spite for Academia in general. It will come through so judge my bias accordingly.
This video by a really solid video essaying, "Knowing Better" explores a common cultural narrative he calls "The Standard American History Myth"
Think "Abraham Lincoln ended Slavery" and "Martin Luther King Jr. ended Racism" and "Obama ended Racism AGAIN" all of which are extremely common implications (and frequently explicit claims) made in most US public schools. No I do not have a study to back that up. Yes it's probably hyperbolic.
Basically, because the bureaucracies in charge of lesson plans in our public schools (assuming you're from the US, sorry if wrong) all share super similar incentive structures (good test scores, don't encourage gang violence, actively destroy children's creative spirit), huge swaths of misinformation get proliferated into the public consciousness. The already-euphemistic "Trail of Tears" being understood as "merely aggressive relocation of indigenous folk" becomes commonplace, it becomes impolite to suggest that the genocide was, in fact, a genocide. A phenomena we're seeing right now with Gaza and have been seeing with our colonial regime over the Imperial Periphery for actual centuries.
I argue that Academic Philosophy suffers a similar sickness.
In my courses, I took class after class after class talking about the same 20 or so European guys who were overwhelmingly framed as "Important figures with Important thoughts about Important things" with little to no acknowledgement of their particular cultural context.
Very pointedly, with little to no acknowledgement of their particular cultural context... when it made them look bad.
I did not learn Aristotle was staunchly pro-slavery (notably using nearly identical arguments to the US Confederacy) until nearly 2 years into my degree, and by then I was surrounded by white cishet guys insisting that "He's the Father of Philosophy, [deadname]" (I wasn't out to these jamokes, naturally).
Sidebar: is Aristotle or Socrates the father of philosophy? Plato isn't, too broad, but I've seen both A & S called the patriarch and I've long since gotten lost. Petition to change it to Hegel, cement our collective deathwish.
I googled Heidegger and actually did a spit take. My main man was wavery on a whole bunch of stuff he really did not need to be. Nazi stuff. Heidegger was a Nazi.
Now, a frequent rebuttal I got from my professors was that, in effect, I'm grandstanding! My critiques are sweeping, performative. What, do I want us to *gasp*... burn their books?!
Plainly, no. Kant being so pro-colonialism he made nose-charts (note: can't source this :( I distinctly remember a professor showing us them) on some nasal phrenology shit isn't just an opportunity for easy dunking (altho it is that too), it's a huge, foundational problem with his perspective on ethics. Like really, really, really big issue.
In fact, once you start digging through the lives and cultural contexts of ANY big name thinker, you realize several extremely funny things:
Irregularly bigoted in at least one (1) direction. Usually more.
A guy
A guy we'd probably call "white" nowadays*
A guy we'd probably call "white" nowadays who had the money and free time to write a lot
A guy we'd probably call "white" nowadays who happens to position himself ways provocative to recent political movements
Fun game: see how many of the "big names" (and even more niche favs) of yours last to the end of this list. Most of em? Yeah.
This is because "Academic Philosophy" is lowkey an oxymoron. Not that study of philosophical texts itself is useless; Ursula K LeGuin's "Those who walk away from Omelas" taught me more in sidebar summary than any full text Plato ever wrote.
The issue is that our cultural definition of "philosophy" has been MASSIVELY narrowed to a very specific range of weird abstractions or artistic movements. No, not even Existentialism is safe. I love you Wittgenstein, you were right. The Tractatus does suck balls and ass (not to yuck a yum) but you didn't escape the event horizon of Philosophy.
Taking a given class, I frequently bounced thousands of years in between these poorly introduced dickheads. You do a week on Kant then a week on Aristotle then a week on your professor's work then a week on a cyberpunk author. You'll jump from Augustine to Hume like these two were riding the train to work next to Foucault. Insanity.
It's fine to juxtapose ideas you like in a class, obviously, but that's just it: these teachers aren't. Not really, they're slapdashedly throwing lesson plans together and using syllabi they got off the internet because they haven't slept in a month. No explanation of the differences, no time to explore the faults in their perspectives, just dead-eyed stares at flickering overhead fluorescence.
There's a huge pressure to teach names that admin can recognize, to focus on "Real, Published Thinkers" as if academic publication does not VERY aggressively select against uncomfortable truths. Y'know. Basically the primary goal of philosophy. Loving wisdom despite its burden.
This got disorganized. I'm too tired to reorganize or even edit it. Apogolies for typos, I hope they're not too major. And, if you did read this, I hope it made some sort of sense. I love Philosophy (outside of college) a LOT, it's just so painful to see it get bastardized so badly.
Anything is philosophy, to me, any single damn thing. Some more than others, I bet, but really anything. If you tried to make it true and tried to teach me something about anything, that's philosophy.
Not like truth lives in a book anyways, right?
*strictly speaking, e.g. ancient Athenians did not have "whiteness" in the modern sense. They did, however, have a rigid class system with an ethnically diverse slave-class, so one can reasonably extrapolate many "Citizens" enjoyed privileges based on their ethnicity & class. White Supremacy may be a modern stupidity but its constituent parts are not.

Smart Home Integration: Syncing Your AV System with Home Automation
When setting up a 7.1 surround sound ceiling speaker placement, you'll want to ensure your entire smart home is perfectly integrated to take full advantage of your new audiovisual system. Syncing your home theater components with smart devices and automation allows for seamless control and enhanced functionality throughout your home. In this blog post, we'll discuss how to connect your AV setup to the rest of your smart home for unified control and experience.

Connect Your Components
The first step is connecting all of your smart home and AV devices to your home network. This includes running Ethernet cables to connect components like receivers, streaming devices, and smart hubs directly. For wireless devices, ensure they are on the same WiFi network. Take inventory of all compatible devices and check that they support the same connection protocols like WiFi, Zigbee, Bluetooth, etc. Test that all devices can communicate and be seen by one another on the network before proceeding.
Setup Control hub/smart panel
Most modern smart homes utilize a central control system like a smart speaker, touchpanel, or dedicated home automation hub. These act as the command center to operate all connected devices with voice commands or on-screen controls. Setup involves programming the hub to "discover" all networked components during initial setup. Make sure your AV receiver and any streaming devices are added and visible within the hub's app or on-screen interface. This allows unified control of music, videos, lighting, security and more from one location.
Integrate With Scenes and Routines
Once all devices are connected and visible to the control hub, you can begin integrating them into custom scenes and routines. For example, create a "Movie Time" scene that automatically adjusts lighting to low levels, lowers window shades, switches input on the AV receiver to the Blu-ray player and mutes undesirable devices on start. Or a "Good Morning" routine that slowly increases smart lights, starts brewing coffee and queues up your favorite Spotify station through surround sound. Tying AV and smart devices together streamlines home automation.
Sync Home Theater With Smart Speaker Zones
If you have multiple smart speakers set up in different rooms as part of whole home audio, explore ways to sync them with your theater system during video playback. Some wireless speaker systems allow you to group all speakers into a single "zone" that mirrors the output of your main speakers. Assign the home theater receiver as the default audio source so movies, shows and games soundtrack your entire home seamlessly. Voice control through speakers lets you easily pause, skip or change volume without leaving your seat.
Connect With Smart TV & Streaming
Most new smart TVs directly support integration with popular home automation hubs and voice assistants. Look for capabilities like launching apps, switching inputs, adjusting volume and powering on/off the TV using voice or hub commands. Streaming media players are similarly controllable when connected to the same network. Ensure your TV and any streaming devices show up within your home automation ecosystem for end-to-end syncing of content and devices across different rooms. Advanced functionality may include initiating playback via multi-room audio groups when a show is launched.
Security & Automation Opportunities
Tying security cameras and sensors into AV automation opens new smart home capabilities. Trigger recorder playback of an event on TV startup. Get alerts over speakers when doors/windows are opened. Start an outdoor movie when motion is detected after dark. Route doorbell camera feed to TV during a ring. Link security with scenes - trigger "Away" mode lowering volume while illuminating exterior when alarm is set. Similarly integrate energy automation, lowering A/C temps before starting the projector to pre-cool sensitive rooms. The possibilities are endless with full system integration!
Conclusion
A fully synchronized smart home brings your entire AV and security system under unified control for enhanced convenience and functionality. With proper planning and setup, discreetly operate lighting, content playback, temperature and more through simple voice commands from your main viewing seat. Trigger automated scenes synchronized to media for enhanced home theater experiences. Connect all devices to a central smart hub for whole-home integration of audio, video, cameras and more. A little elbow grease upfront ensures seamless control and endless opportunities for smart home automation enhancements to your entertainment system down the road.
Home Automation System Planning
Now that the basics of AV integration are covered, it's important to take time planning your ideal smart home automation system before purchasing additional devices. Here are some factors to consider:
Budget
Set realistic budget parameters based on the size and scope of your desired system. Smart home tech can get pricey, so prioritize essentials and build out gradually over time. Estimate costs for compatible hubs, sensors, switches, cameras and other components.
Floorplan and Layout
Map out your home on paper, noting room functions, existing hardware, and desired levels of control per space. Identify target areas for automation like lighting, HVAC, appliances, lock/gates. Consider future expansion like outdoor spaces, garages or properties.
Protocols and Standard
Research which protocols your preferred devices use - Zigbee, Z-Wave, WiFi, Bluetooth are common. Mixing standards can cause issues, so choose a universal solution or keep brands consistent if possible.
App and Control Preferences
Decide how you want to operate the system - voice, smartphone, dedicated touchpanel etc. Check app feature sets and compatibility with preferred assistants/systems. Hardwired controls are still useful backups.
Expandability and Future-Proofing
Look for open, modular systems that allow adding new categories of devices down the line. Consider how your needs or home may change over time. Upgrades should be simple with the right infrastructure in place from the start.
Security and Data Privacy
Evaluate security features, end-to-end encryption, remote access controls and data usage policies. Understand how information is collected, stored and potentially shared with manufacturers or third parties for privacy-minded setups.
With a bit of forethought into these areas, you'll be well equipped to start designing and building out the ideal whole-home automation ecosystem customized exactly to your lifestyle and property. Proper planning pays dividends with a seamless, expandable experience for years to come.
Smart Home Integration: Stage 2
Now that the foundation of interconnected AV equipment and home automation is in place, it's time to take things to the next level. Here are some advanced integration features to explore as you expand your smart home:
Multiroom Audio For Whole Home Theater
Group audio zones to fill your entire home with perfectly synchronized soundtrack. Configure outdoor speakers to extend movie night into the backyard. Streaming multiroom expands music throughout every room. Voice control lets you conduct the experience from anywhere.
Light Shows Synced To Content
Integrate smart lights, bulbs and strips with media playback for immersive experiences. Set LED accent lights to pulse in rhythm to the bass. Program routines to slowly illuminate before scenes and dim during dialogue for cinematic feel. Synchronize effects to live concerts streamed over speakers.
Crestron / Control4 Whole Home Control
Upgrade to premium automation with unified interfaces and flawless interoperability. Commercial-grade control systems deliver AV switching, lighting, security, shades and more from capacitive touch screens or mobile apps. Integrate advanced features like automatic scene recognition based on what's playing.
Home Theater PC Integration
Connect a media server PC to your network for centralized playback, storage and streaming access from any screen. Launch movies, music and more with universal remote or voice anywhere in the home. Sync photos as ambient art displays coordinated to tunes through speakers.
Smart Home Theater Automations
Fine tune immersive experiences with responsive, condition-based automations. Trigger scenes adapting to real-time triggers like sunset, alarm states or thermostat settings. Kick back movie night under the stars with outdoor screen that lowers automatically after dark.
The possibilities are endless once all facets of your smart home are finely orchestrated together. An automated luxury theater became attainable without sacrificing fun or convenience at any budget level. Your vision starts to unfold as seamless home entertainment experiences emerge from intelligent integration. Exciting innovations continue pushing the boundaries - stay tuned for even more innovative ways to bring your entire smart property to life!

Wasn't originally going to put my 2 cents in here, but guess that idea failed.
AI is nothing more than a learning algorithm that requires imput in order to process and "decide" what is needed for a particular outcome. It is deeply biased because the information it pulls is also typically deeply biased, and it can not discern between copyrighted material or otherwise because it's not intelligent at all. On top of this, the methods that the "AI" uses are largely unknown to the programmers unless you backlog everything it screens and find the common demominator between each piece of information. Meaning a person programs the AI, and the AI receives information and forms a ditrectory that still has to be checked by experts in whatever field someone is using AI for.
Ex: the AI algorithm that was able to develop a way to detect lung cancer in people wasn't actually detecting lung cancer or reading the differences between healthy or cancerous lungs. It was judging its detection based entirely on the date of manufacture of the CT machines whose images were fed into the algorithm. It is biased because its not even LOOKING for cancer. It's looking for how old the machine is because the older it is, the algorithm determined it was more likely to pick up cancer. You understand how that is not a good thing yes? Lets move on.
AI doesn't know or learn anything without imput, and that imput is both biased [mainly because a lot of our records are biased, but also because the programmers aren't aware of or accounting for those biases] and not accurate.
For AI art to be made, it requires imput from human artist's works in order to determine what "art" is in the first place. For an ethical use of AI to occur, those artists must be compensated appropriately, willingly contribute their art, or the art must be public domain. If that isn't occurring, the artwork and the labor used to create that art is by definition being stolen.
This is not exclusive to visual art either. Writing and animation are also affected by AI in this way.
But AI is not an appropriate tool that can make anything without extensive adjustments. So you get books about foraging berries that confuse nightshade for blueberries "written" by someone who used an AI algorithm to make a quick buck. You also probably get someone dead.
Who would be held responsible for the death of someone who read false information in their AI foraging book "written" by John Smith? It's not going to be the AI. It will probably be John Smith, the human person who is not a biased computer program, pretending that he knows jack shit about berries because he used an unregulated computer program to write a book about them instead of studying the differences between nightshade and blueberries.
This leads to the real world impact of AI in industry.
AI is biased, and it does not "learn" in the same way people do. It doesn't understand theme or plot structuring, it doesnt understand anatomy or color theory. All it can do is copy and slightly rearrange something so that it looks like something else. But you know what big corporations like Netflix or Disney see? Free labor.
Except it's not. It's bad at what it does, and whatever AI makes needs to be heavily edited before it's even resembling something palatable to most human people.
So what do these big studios do? They fire all their writers, all their actors and animators and artists, get an AI program to do a shit job at making a story, and then hire those same people back as temp workers to *fix* the heaping shit that the AI "created"
There are also other deeply unethical uses of AI that we are currently seeing with the sagaftra and writers guild strikes. AI being used to replicate an actors voice or face or musicians music. Under the pretense that that actor not be compensated for the use of their LITERAL VOICE or FACE in media long after they have died, hell not even when they are alive. That's partly why the strikes started in the first place.
It's not a matter of whether or not AI art is "art." It's a matter of AI being used ethically. Currently, there are no regulations on AI algorithms in the US and many other countries across the world.
AI is also just inefficient in a vast majority of categories. There is a reason that we have captcha tests asking us to pick out pictures of lighthouses. It's because AI can not differentiate a lighthouse from a stripy candycane, even one that is shaped like a lighthouse. Because it fundementally only receives the information given to it.
And it will use all that information whilst unable to diffrentiate with any degree of expertise and end up giving completely innacurate information.
A person putting in keywords to a computer to replicate art *using* art lifted off the internet is not equivalent to the years or even decades another person spent learning how to manually create art in whatever medium they chose. It's just not. I'm honestly concerned that anyone thinks it is.
That's like making a cabin out of linkin logs and then claiming you're an architect.
Are AI alrgithms neat? Sure. Are they functional enough to stand on their own to the same degree that educated humans can on any given subject? Absolutely not.
AI can be a valuable *tool* but it's not regulated and nor is it efficient enough to be used exclusively to determine or create anything of value without extensive oversight from educated humans.
And as of current, it is being used in deeply unethical ways, which is a full fucking stop for just about anyone who is directly affected and impacted by its use.
Economic anxiety has a way of bringing out reactionary sentiment in anyone if they're not careful.
It is deeply, deeply frustrating to watch it play out in front of me in leftist spaces such that self-proclaimed leftists are using actual, literal fascist arguments about Real Art vs. Fake Art and Real Labor vs. Lazy Button-Pushing.
These things don't become any less bad when you SAY your enemy is "some rich techbro" while calling broke disabled hobbyists "evil soulless automatons".
The central logic doesn't become true when you SAY you're targeting an inhuman machine while you screech obscenities about a great replacement at its operator.
When you say one minute "there is no unskilled labor, only undervalued skills", it doesn't magically absolve you of saying "nooo, you were supposed to automate away the BAD and DEMEANING jobs with no financial safety net for the workers, not THIS one I consider RESPECTABLE" in the next breath; it only makes you a fucking hypocrite.
"Fair use for me but not for thee" is not a rational position to prevent plagiarism and forgery; it's just a means to codify an ingroup and an outgroup.
"Degenerate art" is always, ALWAYS reactionary and proto-fascist thing to believe in, even if you wrap it up in other fancy words because you know "degenerate" is a Bad Word. "There is Good Art that makes society better and Bad Art, if you can even CALL it Art at all, that will rot our brains and turn us all into mindless drones if it's allowed to survive" cannot be made into anything but a reactionary position! Period! End of!
"Lazy button-pushers" are EXACTLY what corporations want you to think ANY automation operator is, so they can take credit away from those employees and criminally underpay them. They said the same damned thing about digital artists back in the early days of Photoshop. They say the same thing about overworked VFX artists today. You are DIRECTLY helping them make it worse with this argument.
The same old fucking trick of making you uncertain of your financial future so you lash out at other victims of the system because you "can't take the risk" of coming together to fight the actual enemy? Is working a FUCKING treat on way too many people who pride themselves on Not Being Like That - and it's even worse because a lot of the time pointing this out will get nothing but denial because maintaining pride in a leftist, progressive, pro-labor, pro-human Identity is more important to way too many people than ACTUALLY identifying the root of reactionary sentiment and the strategies used to spread it.
It makes me genuinely feel like I've fallen into a Fox News convention, hearing all these blatantly reactionary arguments and actively self-defeating strategies to Protect Labor.

Check Temperature Of Cpu And Gpu
Real Temp is a temperature monitoring program designed for all Intel single Core, Dual Core, Quad Core and Core i7 processors. Each core on these processors has a digital thermal sensor (DTS) that reports temperature data relative to TJMax which is the safe maximum operating core temperature for the CPU. As your CPU heats up, your Distance to TJMax will decrease. If it reaches zero, your processor will start to thermal throttle or slow down so maximizing your distance away from TJMax will help your computer run at full speed and more reliably too.

Whumptober Day 14
Heat Exhaustion → part of the MT-RK900
Whumptober Masterlist | 14/31 of RK900 short stories ↳ on Ao3
Tags: Post-Pacifist Best Ending x Heat Stroke
{Character sheet + bonus art here, and here. }
“We were hoping it’d be you.” The AX700 giggles as he opens the supply box. He tips his head curiously.
“You’re Dr Anderson aren’t you?” The human smiles through her pain as he very gently cleans the graze on her knee with water and some wadded gauze. He nods.
“Our friend is a nurse at Detroit Metro.” The AX700 explains with a grin, taking a seat on the spare chair in the humid First Aid tent.
“She’s always talking about you.” The human rolls her eyes though her smile indicates she isn’t as annoyed as she projects.
“Her name is Molly.” The android pipes up, opening her palm to display a photo. “She thinks you’re pretty cool.”
“It’s pretty cool you’re here, actually.” The human points out as he disinfects the graze and applies a wound dressing securely. “Didn’t think music festivals were your thing.”
“I volunteered.” He says, and both of them grin.
“Ohhh okay your teeth are so cool.” The human laughs, clapping her hands together.
“Yeah, no wonder Molly has a crush on you!” The AX700 adds with a teasing smile. He doesn’t quite know what to say to that so he defers to his programming.
Please be careful, and change the dressing after twenty-four hours.” Ronan instructs, and she nods attentively. “If you’re unsure, please feel free to phone the nurse hotline and initiate a video chat so they can demonstrate the correct method for you.”
“Okie-dokie!” She declares cheerfully. “Thanks doc!”
He returns their enthusiastic waves as they exit the tent.
WARNING
>>Core temperature UNSTABLE
He presses his lips into a thin line, brows creasing. The RK900 was crafted for the arctic tundra, and not with Michigan summers in mind. The music festival seemed a fun idea, a break from his usual environment at Jericho and Detroit Metro and far less intense. It certainly surprised his superiors when he volunteered for the event, and in hindsight he can see why.
The weather is beautiful, the sky cloudless and the sun shining brightly. In turn the temperature is higher than what he’s accustomed to and the tent set up to the far side of the crowd isn’t well ventilated. Ronan frowns, feeling his stress levels rise as his body attempts to redirect the building heat. He feels his chest rise and fall, ventilating his biocomponents in an effort to cool his system.
“You’re not looking so good, buddy.” Andrew, one of the EMTs from Detroit Metro and his colleague for the day, comments as he re-enters the tent. “Your hair is going white.”
Is it? Ronan’s frown deepens, knowing it’s a sign his stress levels are peaking. The human steps forward and makes to place his wrist on his brow before halting mid-action.
“Err- no that’s not quite right. What’s your core temp?” He asks instead, guiding Ronan to sit down.
“Too high.” He grimaces, and the man shakes his head.
“Okay strip off your top uniform layer and I’ll grab you an iced drink.” The man orders sternly before exiting the tent. Ronan clumsily unbuttons his double-breasted uniform, leaning forward to ease it from his shoulders. The vinyl apron is too long for the gesture and so he has to stand to remove it completely. He stands too quickly; his system lurches as his gyroscope fails to balance him properly and he finds himself sprawled on the ground, face pressed to the grass.
“Ronan! Shit hang on-” Andrew curses, dropping to his knees and very gently coaxing him to lie flat on his back. “You’re burning up buddy, I’m going to have to open your chest up okay?”
Ronan manages to nod weakly as the human quickly divests him of his upper clothing and presses at the side seam to open his chest hatch. The sound of his internal fan whirring fills the tent and Andrew leaves his side briefly to pull back the entrance flaps to help more air flow inside. Androids have no gag reflex, no swallowing motions to push liquids down their throat, so Andrew simply uncaps the chilled thirium and tips it into his mouth. The effect is immediate and he feels his temperature slowly lower into something manageable.
“Never thought I’d be giving first aid to a first responder, yet here we are.” Andrew chuckles as Ronan sits up unaided, taking the second offered bottle and finishing that as well.
“I apologise.” He fights down the rising feeling of shame. “I have not experienced temperatures this high ever in my life.”
“And you were made for the North Pole.” Andrew snorts back a laugh, clapping him on the shoulder. “You can’t wear your uniform, it’s too heavy, but I can’t exactly let you just treat people half naked. I’ll get you a shirt from the merch stand.”
“Thank you Andrew. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.”
“Are you kidding me?” He laughs brightly, pausing in the entrance of the tent. “This is the most exciting thing that’s happened today.”
It’s still too warm in the tent, so after his colleague leaves, Ronan exits the tent too. The temperature outside is lower than inside, and though he’s closed his chest hatch there’s at least enough of a breeze to cool his body now he’s no longer wearing the full uniform.
“Hey um, doc?” It’s the human with the grazed knee he treated earlier, and her AX700 friend.
“Yes?” He blinks down at them, noting their flushed faces and fidgety behaviour. The heat must be getting to everyone.
“Can we get a selfie for the social?” The AX700 asks as the human waves her phone.
“We want to show our friends who helped me!”
“Oh. Um. Sure?” Ronan blinks in surprise, a little taken aback. He’s not one for photographs, he’s still unsure of his rather sharp smile no matter how much Simon and Connor reassure him. He leans down a little to compensate for the large height difference.
“Say cheese!” He says ‘cheese’ and she presses the button rapidly to take a few photos and he hopes his sharp teeth don’t frighten whoever views the photo online.
“Thanks doc, you’re the best!” She giggles, eyeing him from head to toe. He gives them a little wave as they slip back into the crowd.
“So they only had a medium left and you’re absolutely not a medium but it’s better than nothing.” Andrew declares, tossing him the shirt. “Damn, look at you.” He grins, shaking his head as Ronan slips the shirt over his head and tries to tug it down. It pulls tightly across his chest and finishes well above his navel. “Internet’s gonna have a field day.”
Well, no he hopes not because he’d rather no one know he fell prey to heat exhaustion though he knows Connor will find out because he cannot ever keep secrets from his brother. Connor will be kind about it, he thinks, even if he’ll fuss for a little while.
“Tell you what.” Andrew ducks inside the tent to drag out two chairs. “We’ll sit out here and stay cool and only go inside if there’s someone to treat.”
“A capital idea.” Ronan smiles gratefully.
*~*
North shoves the tablet close enough it almost touches his nose.
“Have you seen these?”
“Um-” Simon blinks, his optics adjusting to the screen. He feels his cheeks heat as he finds himself looking at photos of Ronan at the music festival dressed in too small a shirt, uniform peeled down to sit low on his hips- clearly candids taken by various festival attendees. “I guess I have now?”
“Damn, do you think you could convince Ronan to do a charity calendar? We’d make bank!” North laughs as Simon squawks in protest. “Come on, look the internet’s eating him up! One charity calendar and we’d fund Jericho’s outreach programs in no time! We should get him to hold puppies! Or kittens! People love half naked men holding baby animals!”
“NORTH!”

CSGO RANKED ACCOUNT CORSAIR
CSGO Ranked Accounts Corsair Settings:
Weapons are one of the most critical in-game elements for shooter players. CSGO Ranked Accounts is no exception, because players use different weapons in various situations to achieve success. But it is not enough to choose the right rifle; you also need to set your crosshair correctly, doing this will be a great advantage over your competitors.
In CSGO Ranked Accounts, you can customize your crosshair in several different ways:
Settings
Console / Configuration
Plus sign replacement maps
All options have their advantages and disadvantages. In this article, we will consider the pros and cons of each option.
Changing Your Plus Sign via Settings
The easiest way to customize your crosshair is to do it using the settings. Developers can make your image in a variety of colors, sizes, dynamic styles, etc. Allows you to replace it with. Follow this path to find out:
Open the CS: GO app
Choose Game Settings
Choose the plus sign
Change the Plus Sign via Settings
You can upgrade your crosshair with different features and see the result in the preview window above the settings. You can change the preview map and share or import your new crosshair. Easy to customize through settings:
Plus Style: - choose from five different plus sign presets with options predefined by the developers.
Central Point: the small dot in the center of vision helps someone aim.
Length: the indicator of the length of your crosshair, from 0.1 (small) to 10 (large).
Thickness: index of how wide the vision will be from 0.1 (thin) to 6 (very wide).
Space: thanks to this feature, you can choose how close the lines of sight will be to each other. The score is -5 (very close) and 5 (very far).
Outline: black outline around the plus sign. You can turn it on or off and choose from an index between 0 (thin) and 3 (wide).
Red / Green / Blue: color indexes, play with these features to find the best color for you. Change from 0 to 250.
Alpha: this is the index of the transparency of the plus sign, you can turn it on and off. Change the alpha value from 0 (invisible) to 255 (clearly visible).
Split Distance: you can adjust the dynamic viewing magnification with this indicator. It starts from 0 (minimum) to 16 (too large).
Internal Split Alpha: with this parameter you can change the transparency of the interior of your dynamic crosshair. It starts from 0 (invisible) to 1 (clearly visible).
Outer Split Alpha - with this parameter you can change the transparency of the outer part of your dynamic crosshair. It starts from 0 (invisible) to 1 (clearly visible)
Split Aspect Ratio - options that allow you to change the partition size between the inner and outer parts of your dynamic crosshair. It starts with 0 (undivided) and 1 (maximum value of the split dimension).
T Style: select the terrorist style of the crosshair, it will delete the top line of the sight.
Weapon Spacebar displayed: with this feature your crosshair will be dynamic according to the weapon you are currently using.
You can customize your crosshair in many different ways to enjoy various results, but there is only one way to upgrade your CS: GO inventory. Find the most popular CS: GO skins at the best prices on the DMarket Marketplace.
Replace Crosshair with Console and CFG
For those who want to deeply customize their in-game settings, CS: GO has a developer console and cfg files. The console offers the possibility to change a large number of settings, including vision adjustment. To use the console, open it by pressing ~; If nothing happens after pressing the button, enable the console in the game settings.
Select Game Settings and select yes in the Enable Developer Console section.
We have prepared a few commands to help you understand the basic idea of this option. If you want to find all CS: GO plus console commands, visit our powerful guide Full CS: GO Console Commands List.
Crosshair Console Commands:
cl_crosshairstyle 1 - static default style
cl_crosshairstyle 3 - classic plus with dynamic features
cl_crosshaircolor 0 - red
cl_crosshairsize 0.5 - the size of the plus sign
cl_crosshairgap 1 - the size of the central cavity. Add your own value to make it bigger or smaller
cl_crosshairdot 1 - for the middle of the plus sign. With this command and cl_crosshairsize 0, there will be a plus sign on the screen
plus console commands
Another way to change the view is to add specific commands to the game file configuration. The instruction is here:
CREATE A TXT FILE
Add console commands to your txt file
Save your txt file as autoexec.cfg
Save .cfg files to your folder
Program Files\Steam\userdata[your Steam ID]\730\local\cfg\
or in some cases -
Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg
Find out more information about config files and autoexe.cfg in our simple guide How to create CFG in CS:GO.
Here’s an example of the difference between console and cfg commands:
Console command cl_crosshairstyle 1
CFG command cl_crosshairstyle “1”
Config of a Professional Player (Astralis - Xyp9x):

cl_crosshaircolor_r “250”;
cl_crosshaircolor_g “250”;
cl_crosshairdot “0”;
cl_crosshair_t “0”;
cl_crosshairgap “-1”;
We collected the cfg and console commands of the most PRO CS:GO players.
Crosshair Changer Maps
The last way to change the opinion is done with plus signs. There are maps that allow you to try lots of different sights directly in the game.
This is the most popular map to change views - crashz ‘Crosshair Generator v3
Here you can download Crashz ‘Crosshair Generator v3.
The player is equipped with an extensive list of professional cyber athletes. Any settings can be checked immediately in any game, on any map, against any opponent.
To choose any scope or change its settings, you must first arm your virtual hero. After choosing a weapon, shoot with the desired sight or modification.
Your vision will change immediately. Try to shoot targets at any map and determine if this scope is right for you. After leaving the map, the last used opinion remains the board.
Default CS: GO Plus Indicator
The standard CS: GO viewing angle has a big cross with a dot in the middle. When shooting, the image changes dynamically and shows the estimated projectile spread area. There are two ways to load a default CS: GO plus sign

The Snow in Winter Chapter 4
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader, Matt Murdock x Reader (a small part)
Summary: When you wake up in a dark room with no memory of who you are the Avengers come to your aid as you try to adjust to your new life with them.
word count: 1,830
warnings: Fighting/violence,
Masterlist | series masterlist
I woke up the next morning feeling better than I felt since coming here. For the first time in months, I felt hope that I would be ok. I dressed in an outfit I borrowed from Wanda since I didn't have any clothes of my own, and I had only been wearing the shirts and pants provided by Mr. Stark. A week ago Wanda gave me the outfit for me to wear when I was feeling better. Today felt like that day.
I opened the door stepping into the hall and turned towards the kitchen where I could already hear the voices of other people. Slowly I pushed myself forward examining the faces as I stepped into the kitchen. Three people stood chatting and laughing around the island. That laughter stopped as soon as they saw me.
“Um...hi,” I said. No one moved.
The woman I now remembered from when I first woke up here smiled and walked toward me. “Hi, Y/N right? Tony told us you decided to go through with the memory restoration. I’m Natasha.” She now stood in front of me. “Can you understand me?” She asked hesitantly.
I nodded. “I’m Y/N.”
“Clint.” said one of the men raising a hand. “This is Sam.” He gestured towards the other man. He nodded to me in greeting.
Just then, Tony strolled into the kitchen clapped a hand on my back making me jump. “Looks like our resident snow queen is feeling better!” He poured himself a cup of coffee and turned around examining me. “You think you’re feeling well enough to show us what you can do?”
Panic twisted my stomach into a knot. I didn’t even know what I could do. There’s only one way to find out. A voice in the back of my head whispered. So I fixed Tony with what I hoped was a confident smile and nodded.
“Great! Meet me in the gym in 15 minutes.” Tony smiled.
“Ok, but I don’t-” I started to say but he was gone before I could finish. I turned to Natasha. “I don’t know where the gym is.” She laughed and led me down the hall towards the elevator. “Do you know where Wanda is?” I asked as I walked with her.
“She’ll most likely be down there already,” Natasha said looking at me. She eyed the dress I was wearing. “And is that one of her dresses?”
I smiled sheepishly. “Yeah, she gave it to me because I don’t have any clothes of my own. She said we could shop for some of my own clothes once I start to feel better.” I hoped today could be that day, I was getting tired of wearing sweatpants every day.
We walked the rest of the way in silence until we got to two large doors. “Here’s the gym the change rooms are on the other side. Good luck.”
I watched as she walked away. She was small like me but I could tell she was strong. Her movements were graceful and confident, there was no hesitation in her step at all and I hoped I could get to that point. Instead, I tiptoed around the place like a child trying not to get in trouble for being out of bed at night.
Facing the doors again I took one steadying breath before pushing open the doors. I instantly found Wanda off to the left. Her hands glowed red as she practiced her movements. Off in the distance, I saw Steve sparring with Bucky. The way they moved looked almost like a dance. They were both very large, muscular men but they moved with a grace I didn’t expect from either of them. As I watched the exchange it was apparent that neither of them was able to land a hit on the other, both seemed equally matched with each other.
“Y/N?” Wanda touched my arm and I looked at her. “I’m glad to see you’re feeling better.” she smiled at me as she pulled me into a hug.
I hugged back tightly. “I haven’t felt like this in so long. Tony wants to see what I can do.” My stomach twisted again, I didn’t know what to expect and panic began to rise in my throat.
Wanda hugged me again, “You’ll be great. Come on I’ll help you get ready.” She led me across the room past weights and various exercise machines. As we walked I heard Tony’s voice over the speakers.
“Cap, Barnes. Wrap it up. Miss Elsa here is going to give us a demonstration.” “Why does he call me Elsa?” I asked as I stepped into a workout jumpsuit I found sitting on the bench in the change room. The material was lightweight but felt sturdy enough.
Wanda laughed, “She’s a character in a movie who has similar powers as you.”
“Hmm,” I tied my hair back into a loose ponytail and zipped the jumpsuit up to my neck examining myself in the mirror. I was amazed at how form fitting it was, everything else I had tried on in the past was too big.
I walked back out into the gym with Wanda beside me and saw, to my amazement, that all the equipment had been removed. I scanned the room not knowing what they were expecting me to do. Was I supposed to just run around shooting ice from my fingers? I felt Wanda place a hand on my shoulder and I looked at her.
“Don’t worry you’ll be fine and I’ll be right up there.”
I followed her finger to a viewing room which, to my shock, was filled with people. Apparently, this wasn’t going to be a private showing. She gave me one last look of encouragement before walking toward the door.
I took a deep breath and walked out into the middle of the floor bracing myself for whatever was going to happen. I felt a tingle in my fingers and looked down to see frost covering my hands up to my forearms. The sound of panels opening in the floor made me look up and I saw dozens of robots climb up from the holes surrounding me. One more look up to the viewing room I saw Wanda, we locked eyes, and she gave me a nod. Then looking back at the robots around me I instinctively sank into a half crouch and it started.
Half of them surged towards me and I ducked, rolling to the side. My instincts fully taking over. Everything was a blur but I kept moving. A robotic hand closed around my upper arm and I grabbed at it freezing it instantly. I pulled my arm away and the hand shattered. Cool, I smiled as I moved on to the next one. I didn’t know how long this went on, I threw icicles, and I froze whatever I could get my hands on. I even threw a few punches but they just kept coming. A few were able to land a few blows but not enough to knock me down.
As soon as I cut one down another took its place, and after a while, I could feel the ache in my muscles, my movements slowed and they began to overpower me. One jumped on my back and brought me to my knees, another punched my cheek, I spat blood and punched back but I was too slow and I felt a kick to my stomach. After that, I could feel them pile up on top of me. The weight grew with each robot and became suffocating. I squeezed my eyes shut and curled into a tight ball. My short breaths coming out in clouds as the air grew colder and colder. I felt a surge of power build in my chest, the pressure continued to grow until it suddenly blasted out of me in the form of shards of ice shredding everything within a three-foot radius.
I stayed like that, curled up on the floor for a few more seconds waiting for another attack but nothing else came. I sat up and looked around, sparks flew from various parts lying on the floor, ice slowly melted into puddles on the floor. I looked up at the viewing window as I got to my feet. “Um...sorry.” I looked around at the destruction again and winced as the pain in my side slowly became apparent.
---------------
“Is this really a good idea Tony?” Bucky heard Steve ask as he stood with his arms crossed staring out the window into the gym. “She looks like she can barely stand, I mean look at her!”
“I agree, it looks like she could use some extra meat on her bones but we don’t know exactly what she can do. Don’t you think that’s important information if she’s going to be staying here?”
“I spoke to her last night,” Bucky spoke up. “I don’t think she even knows what she can do.”
“Oh, a little late night rendezvous?” Tony laughed and winked at Bucky who only scowled at him. “Well anyway, now’s her chance to learn something about herself.” Tony tapped a few keys and started a program. “Let the games begin.”
Panels in the floor opened and at least three dozen robots surrounded the girl. “Woah Tony! Don’t you think this is a bit much?!” Steve exclaimed. Bucky tensed as he saw the number of robots, each one had at least a foot on her and he agreed with Steve, she looked so fragile compared to them.
“Relax Rogers! She’ll be fine. The jumpsuit will record all her vitals as soon as she’s in trouble I’ll turn it off.” Tony stood in front of a monitor that indeed had readings of her temperature, heart rate and many others that Bucky didn’t care to understand.
Bucky was just about to join Steve in the protest when he saw her fighting. At that point, everyone had come to the gym to watch and all stared in amazement as she fought off each threat.
The fighting went on for almost an hour and a half and with each new attack, Bucky wanted nothing more than to go down there and fight them with her. A protective rage began to grow in his chest as each minute passed. He resorted to pacing the length of the viewing room his eyes never leaving her image on a large screen. As soon as he saw her get taken down he marched back up to the window. “Shut it down.” He growled.
“Not yet.” Tony looked at the monitor then back to the window. “Her core temp is -100 degrees and dropping.” The amazement was apparent in his voice.
Before Bucky could do it himself there was an explosion of ice sending the shards outwards in all directions shattering into a thousand pieces.
“Holy shit…” Steve was the first to speak. “What the hell did they do to her over there?”
