Not only do I think it should be normal to bring your friends on dates, but I think that it should be a cultural norm for each party involved to bring a friend on their side to advocate for their best interests and to provide support. These entities should be known as arbitrators and would serve an additional function of demonstrating what their courting associate’s nature around other people with whom they are close is like for the courted individual on the opposite side of the negotiation to witness. The arbitrator may also endeavor to act in a manner that will bring to the forefront positive attributes of the courter for consideration of the courted.
