What’s your unpopular opinion about Scream?

Oh, you hate me, is that it? You want people to hate me?

Well, I'm not entirely sure what would constitute an unpopular opinion, but let's see...

I don't think Sidney is the face of the franchise, that's the Ghostface role, and I don't think we need to bring Sidney back again.

I find Sam & Tara's story (their story together) more compelling than Sidney's.

I think Stu is a boring character and the idea of bringing him back and making him a cult leader is stupid, like Stu.

The singing scene in 2 was good and cute actually. #justiceforderek

Chad can absolutely do one. He's boring. He has no personality. People just like him cause his actor is hot. That alone is not enough to carry a character!

The Scream series is not some incredible subversive meta on the horror trope. The first one may have been, but the rest are not, and that's okay. A movie does not have to deconstruct everything in order for it to be enjoyed. You can enjoy objectively bad movies, you can enjoy a movie that's exactly the same as a hundred others. Not everything has to be special and unique.

Death Note AU where hbomberguy makes a five hour long video about youtuber Light Yagami that's initially completely unrelated to the murders (Light would probably plagiarize or have really unhinged right-wing political takes if he was on youtube)

but halfway through he reveals that while researching he stumbled upon evidence that Light might be behind the Kira murders, and then spends like fourty minutes explaining the concept of a shinigami, an hour explaining how he thinks Light used one to commit murders, and then another hour explaining Light's ideology and why the concept of criminals being inherently evil is flawed

He finishes the video by addressing Light directly and telling him that he (Hbomberguy) had his name legally changed before uploading the video, to something that only he knows, making it impossible for Light to kill him

In the subway scene, we see Sam holding Tara close and kind of guiding her through the busy station. I consider this as a hidden sister moment. Have you seen or noticed anymore of those hidden sister moments?

A great moment that's been pointed out to me before!

@scream4567 noticed that they were holding hands in the bodega scene. I've mentioned multiple times about Tara bumping into Sam during the phonecall in 6, and she then puts an arm in front of her and pushes her back as the hooded stranger walks past. And in 5 we have that "Sam it hurts" moment as Sam drags Tara to the lift.

I don't think there's anything left that's not been discussed at this point, we've all gone over these movies with a fine-toothed comb lol.

everytime i see amaury the chocolate smith I'm consumed thinking about how funny it would be for him to make a really bad chocolate house out of hershey bars like a kid would make, but all the video production values are the same and he's still got that winning smile

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.
