Deltarune but the Kris is self-aware

Deltarune but Kris is sentient. I mean, actually sentient. They're just as much of an outsider as the player, completely aware they're in a game, who their creator is, the fact that they won't know the rest of the plot until it gets released, living an unfinished existence.

The Soul, the person playing, doesn't matter. If Kris doesn't want to move, they'll stay where they want and do whatever. Despite having Susie, or Ralsei, or Noelle, Kris is lonely. Kris doesn't like repeating conversations with NPCs since they already know the script by heart(no pun intended). If anything, that makes them feel more alone and reminds them that they're the only sentient thing around aside from the player. They've completely fallen out with the Kris they're supposed to be in the story.

They've been woken up by Toriel opening the curtains to let the sun in so many times that they've become used to it. They know nothing will happen if they choose not to get out of bed because there isn't anything scripted, but eventually they do once sleeping gets boring. Time doesn't change unless story progression is made.

Nothing changes unless Kris ultimately makes the decision for it too. But, even then, all the change that is happening only occurs because someone already thought it out and wrote it previously. Nothing Kris does matters.

Kris knows nothing about the Player or players as they’re incapable of communicating with them due to game limitations and their own shortcomings. The player, while having very little control of Kris normally, can still close the game. Kris hates this. Why? Because when the game is off, Kris is off. It’s like dying and being brought back right after, completely shocks Kris’ system. Sometimes this is how whoever is playing regains control of the reigns so they can play the game properly.

of course, in return, Kris will begin making different calls in combat, choosing other dialogue, etc. and ruining the player’s run as a “fuck you”.

Switch 2 ->

MK World looks cool, sucks looks default mode is battle-royaley? it seems doesnt matter if you come in first a few times, if you come in last the last race you instantly get a worse placement than the person who came like, 8th the whole time. A fan in the dock- sounds cool wow the C button is for Skype 2 Kinect for Switch. Cause that ended well Tomtom for your BOTW/TOTK. weird. the QR feature is cool. Sucks its arbitrarily locked behind switch2. same with the maps feature, but i dont like that one, so i dont care about it.

Okay that basketball game looks cool. eldenring, unsuprising. split fiction. unsuprising. ignoring the fact that im suprised hogworts wasnt on switch1, but how would mouse controls add NEW ways to play, unless like, its controls the PC version doesnt have? (Ya know, seeing that anon ask thing dealing with the game master's "guild leader" made me remember that I was wanting to make a Housamo OC that fit the guild leader role until the actual one was released. But I could never figure out how to make them since no info has been revealed about them. Hell, there might not even BE a guild leader for the GMs. I always invisioned them as someone like jevil from deltarune though for some reason. Just chaotic and insane, while also being locked up out of fear from the other GMs.

Anyways, it's good to see you mun! I hope you're doing alright! Honestly, I'm glad you've had this long rest. It's good to rest your bones every once in a while~. Unless you like cracking bones... I don't know where I was going with this lol. Either way, yeah, good to see ya again!)

On the subject of a Game Masters guildmaster OC, I don't have a problem with it tbh--the problem there was more like. . .besides the lack of notice or discussion on the matter, it just had such a. . .idk. No offense to the person who sent the ask, but it felt forced? And kinda like they didn't know what they were talking about? Like I don't expect people to know every little detail of the game because I sure don't. But it felt like they may not have had been up to date with the story or aware of the lore in question so to speak??? Am I making sense without pointing out the issues I percieved?

Idk maybe I'm being unnecessarily critical of it because it aggrivated me a little bit because it felt like it was shoved at me like that without asking me if I was on board to begin with.

Rambling about lore and theories about a GM gm under the cut

Idkidk. I don't have a problem with the idea of such an OC ofc but I feel like you'd need to really think that kind of thing through, y'know? Like really be on top of the lore for it to work. Idk if they'd be chaotic--I can see them being like. Crazy and morally ambiguous? Because they've sent out Bertro, Curren, and the other kid(probably Alice but we don't know that for sure) to study like human advancement potential through means of War/Violence, Education, and uuh whatever the last one that "Isaac" is supposed to be studying through the Invaders, idr if we know off the top of my head. And that kinda suggests that they had part in their creation as Genius Record Collectors and all, and running the game kinda suggests they may have had something to do eith the experiments in Chiyoda that Arc was part of. . .someone chaotic probably wouldn't have records being kept of everything like they are. :|a Like, what's happening doesn't seem random enough to be run by a chaotic person to me. And a chaotic person would surely not lock away the exceptions for being too powerful/game-ruining, right? They'd let them run around and have op kaiju type battles or something lmao. But that's just my perspective. It'd be a hard OC to make/work with, I think, just because of how little we know like you said. At the same time we know so much that it's just as hard to like. Work something out with all the details we do have.

Tbh I noticed we don't have a Rep for Utopia yet and Curren and Bertro both have robots and they're like manufactured children so I kinda imagine they might be the rep for Utopia? At the same time, someone from the advanced future probably wouldn't want to study evolution/advancement from an angle of the past--how would that benefit the future which already has everything figured out, y'know? And we know that the Exception Solomon is the one that's making the Gates and all work(I think that was the end of Chapter 11. . .I may be remembering what I've read about 12. . .) which is why MC now has to unlock all the Exceptions to get to him--so surely he has something to do with all of this. And the Game came after the Gates did, so the Game is just being used for the convenience of the Reps, right???? And it's somrthing separate that's like. Conveniently in line with what they're trying to do which could also mean it's somrthing that's made/run by someone with a Pillar/who knows/knew what they were trying to accomplish and remembers what's already happened and all and i'm making myself dizzy trying to theorize like this lmao. . . .

But uh. Yeah. Idk. An OC like that would be difficult to make but like more power to people who do really go in and try and make that kind of thing, tbh lol

Anyway, it's good to see everyone, and hopefully i'll be back on top of things soon. I got distracted in the middle of coming to answer things again and ended up spending several hours reading Alice's character and date quests and i'm feeling scatterbrained again lol i keep inconveniencing myself. When the HECK did you all get here??? I think just last summer I was happily floating about in the 50′s. Anyways, to anyone I have not said hello, hello! Hope you enjoy your stay, and I am sincerely sorry if you expected Quality Original Content, or even just regularly scheduled other people’s content. Sadly, neither of these things tend to happen here. 

Amount I sleep: During the school year it’s usually anywhere between 30 minutes and 6 hours (DON’T EVEN START BUBBLES YOU HAVE NO RIGHT), usually landing in the 3/4 hour ranges if I’m smart about it, but now that I am on Unofficial Break, it’s usually at least around 6 hours (except today was 3 because Avatar is an excellent show and the weirdos in this house have regularly scheduled breakfast at 9-something every morning). Sadly my sleep schedule can only be forced to tolerate normalcy for so long before careening back in the other direction, so we’ll see if this is just a blip or if we’re back to normal mid-Atlantic Ocean hours!

Lucky number(s): I wouldn’t say these are necessarily favorite numbers, but I do like 2 and 9. But come to think of it, second attempts at Official Things do tend to go better for me than first attempts, so maybe there’s some merit there after all! Dream Job: Don’t think I’m really cut out for dreaming anymore, haha (unless you are a theoretical future employer in which case I am Extremely Full of Ambition and Passion). The bed-adjacent metaphor has been made, and not to brag, but I can sleep on pretty much any surface. Currently studying my Not Favorite aspect of STEM (was there ever a favorite or did I just like being good at things sometimes) and learning how to People™ properly (and also learning a gazillion convoluted drug names like what the heck dude, did you just fall asleep on your typewriter coming up with these), so I’ll take whatever place hires me and pays me enough not to depend on my parents for everything, I suppose. In an ideal world, that would entail a job where I could make friends, and even more importantly, a job where my shortcomings would not cause Massive and Irreparable Harm, but I don’t think this line of work really meshes with that last one, so I guess I’ll either have to get my shit together™ extremely soon or fake my death, adopt an alias, and flee to a completely new place with no ties whatsoever before trying to get another, less high stakes job. 

(Though I guess, less cynically, I like helping people well enough? And stories are fun! Maybe there could’ve been something with that. Not that there still can’t be, mind, but there’s still a long way to go between Here and There)

Apparently as early as the 17th century, you could guess that a child would have a shortened life span if their foreheads tasted salty. Yes, there is a specific reason, and yes, you may already know what it is, and thankfully no, that life span projection no longer holds true, assuming access to Modern Medicine! 

Favourite Authors: Okay I have not read enough various books of enough various authors to be able to answer this, so I’m just gonna go with a few books instead. They are not necessarily all-time favorites, but I enjoyed reading them very much at the time and more often than not go back to them for comfort reads: The Martian, any of first three Harry Potter books, and The Rise of Kiyoshi. (That last one’s not really a comfort read but I am drowning in Loving Kiyoshi juice so here we are)

Favourite Animal Noises: Certain kinds of birds (UNLESS it’s some ungodly hour of the morning and you’re trying to sleep)? Ooh, and crickets!

Current WIP(s):

May I direct you to my WIP Masterpost that I updated today just for this ask game (and also because I’ve been meaning to for over a year, thanks for the added motivation)

Genre/Category:

Fanfiction is kind of its own genre, right? I really liked when that post went around, arguing that fic is a character-centric genre, and that’s why some people start reading fic and never go back (they’ve found their preferred genre) and others find it boring and underwhelming.

Within that, I write a lot of introspection/character studies, some angst or fluff depending on my mood, and occasional soulmate AUs, usually with (at least some) platonic soulmates (stripes of fate is kind of the exception). Also I’m an absolute sucker for (and therefore write as much as I can of) outside perspectives on canon

Fandom/Interests:

many and none. I kind of bop in and out of fandoms. Harry Potter is probably the one constant.

I've written mostly within DCMK and Harry Potter, but I surprised myself by writing a Dragonriders of Pern fic for purimgifts. (I've been meaning to write up a short post reflecting on my ideas for that piece and how they evolved into what actually got published, because I think it was an interesting process)

on the other hand, I'll read just about anything that I've vaguely enjoyed the source material for: MCU, miraculous ladybug, undertale and/or deltarune (which are absolutely not the same despite many similarities in character design and y'know, having the same creator), omgcp, 17776 (sometimes. does that whole story just feel like a fever dream to anyone else?), wtnv, and sometimes even fandoms I've had no experience with the source material, like @davetheshady wrote such a wonderful crossover that I was sure I would love the Dresden Files based on the fanfiction and it's probably a good thing I read her fic first because I just cannot stand Harry Dresden as the narrator even if I otherwise like the world the books are set in. Reading things in another order might have meant I didn't give her fic the chance it deserved out of spite against Jim Butcher and that would be a tragedy (Julie is still my favorite fictional character ever and that's going to be hard to change)

Also I’m a math nerd, but that tends to stay confined to my main blog unless someone starts writing Flatland fic... ...........Actually that sounds kinda fun, I’d need to reread it.

on this one? numbered writing prompts, my own writing (responses to prompts and in general), writing advice (sometimes tagged by category, if I remember to) usually on whatever I'm currently having trouble with, conversations with other writeblrs, anything else that seems relevant to writing, and tag games like this. Also, occasionally, tangential replies to my own posts that might be less writing related (example: I posted a photo of books I'd been using to write fanfiction with, and then a few weeks later reblogged the post with a screenshot of Amazon trying to sell me another book, very related to the one on top of the stack and complain "how dare Amazon advertise directly to me something I absolutely need". I have since ordered that book because my self control only lasts until my wife says “yeah sure get it”)
