an: i want angst so bad my heart aches for it. filler for the sakusa alphabet I'm doing. been reading too much sakuatsu and now they are all I can think about

he's amazing, wonderful, beautiful, extraordinary- just everything good. every single thing about him is just miraculous. and it hurts, hurts so bad knowing the man you love will never love you...

you catch yourself just staring- no, admiring him sometimes. the way his hair softly swings against his forehead as he works, the way his eyebrows slowly crinkle when he thinks, the way his lips pout a little when the teacher doesn't pick his hand because he knows, he knows the answer. the way he hums the song you've heard on the radio way too many times and your sick of it, but coming from his lips you wish you could hear it again.

the way he is is all you want. all you crave. and all you can't have

and you think he can't see you. he can't see how you brush your hand against his shoulder when you walk past him in class. the way you're always the first to ask how he is when he feels a bit sad that day. the way you are, he knows. and he knows it's wrong to let you hope that something might happen. he knows, oh how he knows. he's just not ready to break your heart.

'you deserve more than him' is what he believes, he knows that he will never amount to the expectations you have of him. how can he love you if he can't even love himself? but you don't have any expectations of him, all you see is all you want.

it was way past your curfew and you definitely weren't meant to be this far from your house this late. your parents weren't home and nobody checked upon you, so who cares.

the reason why you were near the city centre on a friday night, alone? who knows.

you were in the park just above the river, head resting on the cold green grass. the chilly air swiping right under your nose, but you didn't care, as long you’re breathing, right?

the night sky looked clear tonight. you didn't know the faintest thing about the stars but they always look so beautiful to you, you liked the idea of a possibility, worlds beyond stars.

maybe there was a world where the man you love, loves you back.

you pulled your arms out of your zip-up and took it off, folding it and placing it behind your head, so you could get a better view of the sky. you closed your eyes for a second and a few more to admire the atmosphere. how could a world so wild hold so much peace?

you wished you could stay in this moment for an eternity, allowing the winds to sweep you away, taking you on adventures with the clouds, and making promises with the stars. you felt the hair on your arm stand up, but you didn't care. you liked the way the wind blew announcing its presence, the way the moonlight lit up your face, smiling on you from above.

your peaceful aura was interrupted by footsteps heading your way, you frantically searched for your keys.

"if you're gonna kill me at least make it quick and painless"

"if i was to kill you i would've done it by now"

you turned your head to confirm that the voice you heard wasn't just an illusion of your mind.

"tsukishima? what are you doing here"

"well i haven't got a penny... or a cookie for that matter, you know what forget it"

you mentally dug your head underground, why were you so awkward when it came to talking to the people you wanted to talk to the most.

"no, it's cool actually"

You guys lay still for a few seconds but it felt like years flew by, him by your side laying together in silence. he consumed all your thoughts, every moment spent with him replayed itself like a movie, over and over and over again.

"y/n?"

"mmhm"

he came closer and placed his hand on your chin, slowly turning it to get a good look at your face. you guys were placed like that for longer than time could measure, you felt as though you were floating through space. he let you go and went back to his original positioning with both of his hands placed behind his head.

your hands were physically shaking as you patted down the place his hands were lingering on just a few seconds before. you tried to calm yourself down trying to create a legible sentence.

"I like you"
