00QAD heacanon

Alex was saved in the nick of time, but still had to leave, and being angry at the people and the system ended up dropping off the radar and turning his skills to trying to find information to expose the corrupt and nefarious deeds of the government. But Danny, believing he was gone set out on his own mission of revenge, learning to code, and getting swept up into 6 as a way of keeping him "silent" and "under control". But he still has a purpose he keeps hidden, planning to rise through the ranks and get access to everything he can, and he eventually gets promoted to the Quartermaster position.

As Q, he finds himself pitted against an unknown hacker that is trying to crack his system, and they end up testing each other repeatedly, the hacker trying to gain access, and q-branch trying to track him down, until Q think he's found an opening and the hacker expresses his anger at being torn from the one he loved, from the life he could and should have had, and he won't stop until the government pays... and the gears are turning.... Q finds a way to reach out and offer an alliance, not yet realising who it is

So, I was captain for team villain this year, and I'm probably the youngest captain there ever was lmao. I tried my best and I hope I did ok.

But here's basically how my leadership went throughout fest

I also made a prompt table. The "art challenges" one and surprise surprise, it's difficult. But when I made it, each square had a goal in mind.

Black and White only: the goal was to strengthen your sense for light and shadow.

As of writing this, I'm recovering from a cold. I'm very tired, constantly sleeping at some ungodly hour.

I feel like I've improved a lot in terms of art. i pushed myself in terms of quality, but I am really tired.

007 Fest - 00QAD Chat Night Prompts/Headcannons

Since Saturday July 29th was @00qad-fandom Chat Night, I thought I'd post and share some of my ideas and headcanons that were inspired by that night (yes I know I'm posting this 2 days later and on the last day of fest, I've been busy unfortunately).

Hacker AU! Where Danny stumbles into Hacker!Alex at a nightclub and Alex was trying to break into the servers the club had in the back room. They almost get caught but Danny saves Alex 

Alex goes into hiding but is saved last minute but Danny doesn’t know this. He gets really into what Alex was doing and decides that since no one is listening to him he’ll take up his mantle and become a hacker. Either he eventually becomes Q OR Q finds him one day and is like - you are my new R. Eventually, Danny starts running Q Branch and running double oh missions and meets James. Alex has been on a multi year long undercover mission with Alec and has been telling Alec all about Danny.One day, they all come back to Q Branch at the same time and all realize they like the same person and Danny is kinda freaking out but Alex, James, and Alec are all like… eh at least one of us will be with you at all times this is good actually. 

Super soldier!Alex meeting Civilian!Danny and Danny teaching him all about the normal world when James and Q are sent to track Alex down and bring him back but end up faking his death and bringing him back as normal Q-branch technician Alex and Danny becomes an Agent instead with Alex as his and James’ “Support Analyst”

In similar vein - Black Widow!Alex who breaks from training but is lost and Danny finds him and then Q and James get involved because Alex is a known threat but they know better after getting to know him and boom Alex defects and becomes an Agent with Danny as his Q-branch support because he only listens and trusts Danny, James, or Q

Some others I thought of after the chat:

Q-Branch Analyst! Alex defects and has to fake his death after meeting Civilian!Danny. Danny then decides that he wants to understand more of Alex's previous world and root out what happened in Q-Branch and joins it. Eventually he becomes Q and succeeds in getting rid of all the corruption in the Branch (and MI6) that led to Alex's (supposed) death. Only after this is done does Alex feel safe to come back. James is the one that helped him hide all those years ago.

Vet!Alex who met a very concerned Danny at his veterinary practice after Danny comes across a mama cat and her 3 kittens. Alex knows another couple (Q + James) that would love to adopt some kittens and he introduces them all.

Assassin!Q who targets Alex, but is thrown off after seeing Danny and realizing that Danny is his long lost twin? brother? doppelganger? and instead gets curious and eventually realizes that he can't kill Alex bc it will hurt Danny. James is Q's support agent and just shrugs and goes along with it all.

First Fest, Days 5-6-7-8

Due to the inevitable and unavoidable (work, chores, life) as well as the enjoyable and indulgent (rock concert, long nap), a few daily posts were missed. Catching up...

Day 5

Shout out to the 00QAD fandom for a delightful community and an amazing universe. Seeing this post reminded me of my first weeks in the Bond-and-related fandom, how welcoming everyone was. @3nigm4art was one of the first to show me around and provide links, and now they lead the Fest team I'm thrilled to be part of 🎶❤️

Day 6

Discovered as I wandered nostalgically around Discord that July 6 is my ten-month anniversary of joining the fandom. Especially now there is (still) so much to discover! Fest-wise this was my quietest day yet.

Day 007

With the first watch party for The Hour, a good day to talk about Ben Whishaw. Discovering his past work and enjoying the new has been a fantastic branch of my fandom experience. He's talented, inspiring, and just dreamy. There, I said it.

Same for Daniel Craig. He really is such a joy to look at. I mean watch. All right, both. Bond, Benoit, and Belvedere, his exploits are a gift.

Day 8

Readalong has made Saturday night into a favorite time of my week. There is something very, very special about stories read aloud, both listening and reading have been such fun. The commentary and time spent chatting are delightful and recommendations are a bonus. Turns out several of the regular readers are authors of some of my favorite fics - I'm glad I got involved in readalong before I realized that, otherwise I might have been tongue-tied. They are the epitome of my experience, though, wonderfully friendly and interesting. I love knowing their aural voices as well as their written ones.

That night, Alex felt hypersensitive - not in a bad and overwhelming way, but his senses were definitely amplified.

From the kitchen came the familiar noises of Danny making some kind of snack - something involving the microwave if the tiny beeps were anything to go by - and of Q opening a can of wet food for the cats, that purred happily.

Alex's fingers tentatively stole down his thigh and slipped down its side to snatch up James' hand, eyes fixed down - hiding from the other's inquiring gaze - as he brought it closer to his face to inspect it; Alex thumbed a caress across the middle of his palm, the whorls of his fingertips swiping over the thick callouses on James' hand.

A rough hand.  

A gentle hand.

Alex slotted their fingers together, noticing how thicker James' were when compared to his own - shorter, though: he would have said clumsy, hadn't he known how dexterous those fingers could be.

"Satisfied?" James inquired in a soft tone of voice.

Never judging.

Alex's fingers bent at the knuckles and closed over James', the pads skimming over the joints swollen by too many fist fights "You have beautiful hands"

Tanned.

Strong.  

Deadly.  

"And sooo talented!"

Alex rolled his eyes at Q's cheeky remark but he revelled into James' deep chuckle, in the way it made his shoulders shake.

Q leaned over "I'm sorry, I couldn't resist" he apologised with a grin that Alex still felt on his lips when the younger man kissed him.

"Don't worry, we all know you have your head in the gutter" he teased, smiling when that prompted another chuckle from the older man: was it ridiculous that he loved James' laugh so much?

"I have an healthy appetite" Q retorted, nose up in the air but his facial muscles tugged up the corners of his lips.

"Only for sex" Danny chimed in, plopping himself down right into James' lap with a bowl of popcorn balanced on his knees "Because your appetite for food? It goes poof! as soon as you get your hands on some piece of tech"

"It's still an appetite" Q shrugged, stealing a handful of warm - almost hot - kernels from the bowl "So, what are we watching?" It wasn't his turn to pick but even if it had been, Q was more interested in James' free hand loosely holding his own and pillowing his head on the other's shoulders, eyelids already drooping even as he lazily ate his popcorn.

"Ocean's 8!"

"I mean, James is the only one who's gonna enjoy the eye candy" Q pointed out to Danny.

"I'm not complaining"

"We know" Alex drawled but he wasn't really upset by the remark; it had taken him a while to learn to be confident in their relationship and to trust James when he said that he loved them and didn't want anyone else, that he was happy with them and didn't feel like there was some thing missing from his life - be the variety his player ways had gotten him used to or women.

Danny shook his head "You men of little faith: I've got us strictly gays covered"

James grinned as he felt Q perk up a little against his side, his attention clearly snatched by Danny's words.

"Who?"

"You'll see"

"You're no fun!"

"Shush and watch the movie"

The bickering faded as the first scenes rolled in and the story grabbed his lovers' attentions, their intent focus broken from time to time by murmured comments; Alex knew it wouldn't last: once the plot thickened and the action started in earnest, they would start to offer suggestion, sarcasm and cheering words according to which characters would be on screen - it was entertaining , seeing them so involved in something fictional.  

"Oh. My. God"

"Yep"

Alex focused once again on the screen, curious to understand what had prompted such a reaction out of Q and chuckled when he saw the actor currently owning the scene.

"You're so thirsty" James chided, words immediately followed by a loud smooch to Q's curls.  

"You fucked in every continent, you really can't comment on his thirsty I am"

"Oceania and the poles are actually missing from my check list"

"Only Antarctica is a continent, James" Alex offered.

"Which pole is Antarctica?" Danny asked.

"The South one" Alex answered and taking advantage of the moment of distraction, he leaned over and he took Danny's left hand with his free one; it would make it a little harder for his lover to eat his popcorn but it settled Alex.

Now they were all connected.

Alex: Why not?

Danny: A certain someone who shall remain nameless makes porno noises when they eat ice cream.

Danny: Alex's birthday, he wants to go to Marine ices

Bond chuckles: Oh god, the kids party! all those outraged mothers.

Alex (Sheepishly): I'm sorry I embarrassed you.

Bond wrapping his arms around Alex's waist: Oh love no! embarrassed, never embarrassed, maddeningly turned on definitely.

Danny and Q nod furiously:

Danny (putting his coat on): Right I'm off to the shops any request?

Q: Nothing with nuts.

Bond: Chocolate fudge sauce and whipped cream.

Alex in a small quiet voice: Caramel sauce?

Q, Danny, and Bond: Absolutely!

This year was the first year I’ve participated in Fest since M branch was still a thing, and I have enjoyed immensely getting to know this fandom again. I hope that we all remain friends and would love to keep chatting 007 Fandom with you all throughout the rest of this year!
