OVERVIEW. Following a period of sporadic incursions and large movements of people, demographic and economic changes in the 8th century B.C. lead to overseas colonization, spreading Greek language and culture across the Mediterranean and Black seas. Communities throughout the Greek world evolve into city-states, laying the foundations for democracy. Literature, science, and the arts flourish for several centuries, and new genres of artistic and intellectual expression evolve.

KEY EVENTS.

ca. 776 B.C. The Olympic games are founded. Held once every four years, the games honor Olympian Zeus. A list of victors from this year to 217 A.D., drawn up by the historian Julius Africanus, has been preserved for us by Eusebius. 750 B.C. The Greeks begin to venture overseas and establish colonies in southern Italy and Sicily. I love them. What's not to love. It's everything you love about harringrove and more. Sadly I haven't come across too many longform fem!harringrove fics, though I may no be looking in the right places.

Steve already has such a female coded story arch. I've talked about this before, but he is (quite accidentally on the Duffers part) a subversion of the Queen Bee story trope. Haughty rich bitch, gets humbled, dethroned and either "gets just deserts" or "gets redeemed "learns from their mistakes". Which is why he was PRIMED to slide right into the "Princess & The Bad Boy" trope with Billy. Our bodies were ready. Joe was ready. But alas, the Duffers - they were not ready. But yeah, fem!Steve is super easy to imagine right down to the "everyone thinks I'm just a slutty bimbo, but there's so much more to me" angst fest, set to the backdrop of negligent hopeless parents who think presents are a substitute for actual parenting.

Fem!billy is my favorite to imagine. Not only because she'd be a knockout (seriously, my dream woman) but because of all the ways it would (and wouldn't) change the plot, the character, and our perception of the character. I've talked about this before too, but I earnestly believe that a "Billie Hargrove" would have survived on the show. She'd be allowed to be a victim (which she is), she'd be allowed to be messy, and fans would be allowed to celebrate her. She'd treated to the slytherin effect. Which is to say that she wouldn't be universally loved, but she would be embraced by a large subset of the culture and championed by the narrative as a face for the "othered community". A bad ass with a heart of gold just waiting for the power of friendship and healing cock to thaw her anti-social ice queen persona. Every edge lord and lady could safely find their representation in her, and Netflix would happily invent new ways to take their money for the privilege, season after season.

If she and Steve were both girls, they'd end up reluctant frenemies, and then best friends by the season finale with a heaping dose of queerbait in between. How to play LaDS; How the gatcha/pity system works?

Sooooo 😅😅😅 Considering I entered this realm with the exact same thought and had never played a game like this before in my life, I feel very unqualified to answer this question lol. I am 1000% still learning. So if anyone would like to guide us in this area, we'd be eternally grateful 🙏

How many diamonds would I need to make a 10 pull?

The diamonds question, I can do. If you don't have extra wishes on your hands, a 10 pull will run you 1500 diamonds (because each individual pull costs 150 diamonds). I hoard my diamonds like crazy so that, whenever there's a wishing event, I'm locked and loaded so I can get me that special 5-star memory~

How to upgrade memories and get materials for them?

This is kinda dependent on what kind of LaDS player you are. If you're a P2P/pay-to-play player, I'm assuming this is where the "pay" part comes in. The in-game shop sells various bundled packages for resources like stamina, wishes, diamonds, wish bottles, etc. you're a F2P/free-to-play player (like me~), you can still upgrade memories and protocores. It just takes more time, effort, grinding, and strategic choices. Personally, I adhere to the following F2P strat religiously to earn every diamond, wish, etc. possible:

Basics:

Consistently complete your "Daily Agenda" tasks every day

Consistently pick up your free "Daily Free Pack" rewards

Consistently complete your "Weekly Agenda" tasks every week

Consistently pick up your "Weekly Free Pack" rewards

Consistently pick up your daily "Check In" rewards

Consistently complete the "Weekly Agenda" for the Quality Time feature

Log in at noon and early evening to get the "Supply" stamina drops

Make sure to do the "Claim & Send" stamina thing under the in-game Friends menu

Grinding:

Grind through the levels of the in-game battle modes and try to get as many 3 star victories as possible (Bounty Hunt, Core Hunt, Hunter Contest, Deepspace Trials, Training, Abyssal Chaos, etc.)

Grind through the in-game achievements (plus the secret in-game achievements)

Extras:

Stay on the lookout for verified codes you can redeem in-game for diamonds, wishes, stamina, etc. (I get my info on codes from the official discord server. There's a specific channel just for that)

Whenever there's an in-game survey, take the time to fill it out and submit it. They'll usually give you rewards as an appreciation gift.

Maximize on any in-game events that give you rewards or perks

Max out the "Playtime" games Chocolate currency yields each week so you can cash them in for more "Bottles of Wishes", gold, wishes, or other materials

General Advice:

When you're leveling up/upgrading/ascending memories for combat stuff, you want to prioritize your highest rarity memories since they'll be your strongest hitters. (Don't be like me and dump all your resources into awakening a random 3-star memory for literally no reason before realizing this is how it works rofl)

Spend your Wishing Well Stardust currency wisely, again prioritizing ranking up your higher rarity memories

Don't forget to hit up the "Heartsand Shop" when upgrading your memories. You might have extra Memory Heartsand you can cash in for resources

When leveling up memories and stuff for challenges, I personally complete all of my daily/weekly tasks first before starting that. That way, I don't have to do a back and forth of leveling up, gathering more resources, leveling, gathering, etc.

Yesterday I got informed about some old gossip people told about me years ago in neopets.

The goddamn neopets dot com.

A virtual pets game that some adults take too seriously.

Take a sit while I tell you and old story and I hope you get a good laugh as I did.

So neopets has been running since 1999 to this day. There are two currencies: neopoints and neochash. Neopoints are the main currency, they can be earned by playing games, doing quests, random events, selling items and many other ways. Neocash are purchased with actual money and can only be used in a specific store to buy clothing for your pets. Think about this as neocash can buy awesome skins, but everything else runs under neopoints keeping the game "fair".

As any other game, users build the economy and the market based on supply and demand. Shady tricks to make your way into the rare items exist such as scamming, hacking rich accounts, taking advantage of glitches and straight up black markets.

In my early years playing there I made a friend who made his path to richness by reselling items and playing games. The problem is that this guy loved to give polemic opinions and talked without filters so he quickly became a despictable person for some users. People tried to hack his account and stalked him on his social media, luckily none of that worked. Tired of all this drama he decided to take a break from neopets but before that he asked me to take care of some of his most expensive items so even if his account was compromised on his hiatus they would be safe on mine.

I doubt a little because while I was always aware of the drama surrounding him, he was always kind to me and our friendship was not so public so it was unlikely that my account would become the new target for hackers. What I didn't thought through was how suspicious our transaccion would look like at the eyes of the staff.

The next day both accounts were frozen. Imagine little Rommy all sad because I loved my ugly pets so much and my little account that I had worked for sevenish years. I submitted a ticket explaining how I never cheated and provided all possible evidence. Neopets customer service is well known for being slow and inefficient, so I just waited and waited and waited.

People quickly noticed my friends account was frozen and somehow they found out about me, not entirely but they knew there was another user in the formula.

What is the juicy gossip?

People said that I was some kind of celebrity influencer offering sexual services in exchange for items and neopoints. I was frozen because my friend was a client of mine...

I haven't laugh so hard like this in a while. Do you know what is even worse? I was a minor when this happened.

Whatever they knew about me it was very little and probably they were just trolling because it was a popular thing to do back then ¯_( ͡• ͜ʖ ͡•)_/¯

Speaking of my side account. I have a confession to add to the story. The usernames of both accounts are fairly similar so I would be easy to tell it was me. Remember neocash? Neocash has a different economy system based on item trading. If you want an item, you offer your items, find a trader and agree a fair deal.

I got into neocash trading before my main was frozen, but I became really good at it in my time using my side account. So while strangers shit talked about me I was taking advantage of a glitch.

To summarize it, neocash could be bought from the neopets website or by redeeming physical cards that could be found in stores such as Walmart. Cards were available in a couple countries outside USA and due to actual currency convertion it could be cheaper to get foreing card codes rather than buy them from the website. Keep in mind that 1000 neocash equals $10 USD in regular price. Of course getting cheaper cards is not against the rules and it's still a common practice.

The glitch would not recognize what currency was used to buy the card and would assume that the amount was in USD. Let's set an example, if I remember correctly, someone told me that 1000 neocash would cost 10,000 CLP, the glitch would reedem for the amount of 10,000 USD. I'm not saying that Chilean cards would do that, I'm not even sure if they were sold in Chile but this is the most dramatic scenary I can think of.

I had a lot of neocash for dirt cheap. I'm pretty sure more people knew about this but neopets was a messy place (it still is) that recently had took multi language support away, so I can see why non native English speakers were mad and unwilling to repport their glitchy cards.

Anyway, if those trolls were aware of my neocash trades back then (because most trades are done in a public forum) I could't blame them for thinking I was a hoe selling its body for real money to waste on a game lol.

At the end, it took a year but I had my account back. I continue to play neopets with no consequences from those days.
