As you know, we have been spending the last week driving the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse RS. While we’ll have to wait until 2022 to get the refreshed Traverse , we figured it was a good idea to take those current edition out for a rewrite.

A: This is an interesting question once we not only observed the same shifting problems as you did, but found the particular nine-speed automatic gearbox to operate in a different way than in other vehicles. In the XT5, we had no complaints, but in the particular Traverse, we did notice the calibration to be a bit rough throughout the edges. Downshifts did in fact have got longer delays than in other programs. Here’s to hoping these calibration issues will be addressed when the Navigate receives its mid-cycle refresh.
