Blog No 118A  Out of Darkness

BLOG NO 118A                     13th September 2020                         OUT OF DARKNESS

Yesterday I was listening to a discussion on God.Tv between Ward Simpson, CEO of God.TV. John Kilpatrick, Pastor of Church of the Presence in the US and 3 other known prophetic voices. It made an impact on me as the prophecy being discussed was given on 19th December 2019, just before Christmas when one would expect a message of Hope and Joy and Celebration. However this message spoke of a Darkness that was coming which would degenerate into Gross Darkness,’  Obviously at that time we had no idea that 2020 would bring a worldwide pandemic which would affect, in some way, every person on this earth. Little did we know what this would entail :isolation, panic, hundreds of thousands of victims and deaths from Covid 19.

However, the prophecy went on to say that God would send His angels, ministering Spirits to help His people to overcome this deepest darkness that the world has ever seen. I guess that at the time no one would have foreseen the extent of this pandemic. But take heart. As they discussed this situation they all insisted that God is calling His people to be overcomers – ‘If My people, who are called by my Name (the church) will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land.’.2Chronicles7 v 14

Never before has there been such a need for intercession for the nations. We are not alone. Throughout Scriptures God is showing us a way out ‘The Lord is My strength and my shield. My heart trusted in Him and I am helped’. Psalm 28 7-8.. ‘When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.’ Psalm 61 v 2   .I think that most of us have been overwhelmed during the past few months through sickness, fear, loneliness, isolation etc. but thank God that we have Jesus, our Rock to turn to in times of trouble. As it says in Isaiah59.v 16 He (the Lord) was amazed to see that no one intervened (interceded) to help the oppressed’ NLT.

However, we hold on to the promises in the Word ‘He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the Kingdom of the Son on His love’ Colossians 1 v 13. And also in 1 Peter 2 v 9..’But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light’.

So it’s up to us to intercede for the nations, to pray to the Father to bring us out of darkness into His glorious light. In the words of a song which we sang this morning ‘who the Son sets free Oh is free indeed. I’m a child of God yes I am’.

I thank God that He led me to start a special group for intercession again Covid 19, meeting every week to pray for all who are sick, who have lost loved ones, for our Government and to set us free from the darkness.                                                (527)
