Title: The Wedge

Rated: PG-13

Characters: Ace and 2D

Summary: Murdoc's been sent to prison on a handful of charges, leaving 2D in charge of the band. Murdoc has also called on the help of his old buddy, Ace Copular, to stand in as bassist while Murdoc serves his sentence. While 2D has some newfound sovereignty, he's also scared of what'll inevitably happen when Murdoc returns and finds that he's been snuggling up to their temporary band member.

It's a 2DAce fic I'm just kind of writing with no real outline to it. It won't be too terribly long but here's the first chapter anyway.

2d and ace roadtrip across america is basically them visiting gaudy roadside attractions, 24/7 diners, and different malls. They lose their minds when they enter the mall of america and because they're famous world known muscians they have no qualms about blowing money on any and everything.

2d takes pics of their trip with a polaroid and hangs them on his wall. Ace has pics of them together at different rest stops on his cellphone (one of them of just 2d staring off at the sunset as gis phone's home screen.).

I feel like they'd also stay at the shittiest of hotels 100% because neither of them do research prior to booking a night.

Noodle-

She is a sort of care taker herself so when she met you, she felt understood. 

You two spend so much time together that falling in love was bound to happen. 

Old Married couple energy but Cool Old Married Couple

Loves your cooking and will not be shy about letting you know.

You and her are always clung to each other.

LOVES when you do her hair.

She loves you so much and feels like she’ll always be taken care of and in turn, will take care of you. Even when you are a actual old couple.

Russel-

Kind of man to take knitting lessons with you. (He did)

Loves being doted on and doting on you.

He is the cook and you’re the cleaner.

The only time Russel sings is when it’s in the kitchen with you while you’re doing dishes and he’s finishing dinner

Is surprised when you and him started dating.

You take care of him after he runs from his vandalism scenes, scraped knees, scratches on his arms and such.

Will sometimes take you for granted but the second you leave, he starts calling for you. (Poor boy)

2D-

Thinks he is the luckiest man on earth (and he is. Know your worth)

You make him a peppermint tea before he wakes up.

You just sit beside him and fiddle with his hair til he wakes up

He is pretty much your shadow. Always directly behind or beside you.

Is your number one helper. 

Pretty much your husband (on all levels except legal)

Writes you little love songs and will melt if you sing them with him

You’re his muse and he’s your artist.

Murdoc-

Was avoidant about your disposition at the start but he warmed up to you after a many quiet car rides from when you came to pick his drunk self up.

He makes your coffee because he is not a morning person but by the time he gets done clanging around the Winnebagos kitchenette, you’re up.

You and him take the romance movie cliche tub bath while drinking wine. (He was down to bump uglies but he got distracted making bubble beards with you. His was the best, he doesn’t care what you say)

Will immediately think he’s fucked up if you use his actual name

You and him have the same vibe as that retiree couple on vacay 

Despite your differences, you and him are the best match for each other.

Murdoc:

He'd know it's coming up but definitely left it till last minute, due to stress from the band

Absolutely freaks out when the date comes around

Definitely asks the band what to do but everytime 2D gave a suggestion you'd just hear Murdoc snap at him "Shut up face ache! Shit idea!" Even if it was a good idea.

Eventually thinks of an idea and goes stargazing with you

Holding you close to him as he leaves light kisses on your face telling you how much he loves you and how much you've helped him

Definitely going back to Kong studios and staying in his winnebago for the night

2D/Stuart pot:

He thought Valentine's Day was in March. Until noodle and Russel have to tell him actually February 14th.

He's so lost on what to get you like literally searching what you would like and what to do for you to show he loves you

He ended getting your favourite chocolates and flowers and taking you out to a restaurant

He ends up looking like 13 year old on a first date 😹

It's very cute though because he's tried for you

If you do something for him as well he'd melt literally won't let you go for the whole night and next morning

Ace:

Literally asks the gang what to do and they give him the most stupid responses. "I don't understand you guys sometimes" he'll respond after hearing their suggestions that was "Shoplifting at a gas station" or "take em to the dump"

He ends up getting you flowers and a ride on his motorcycle (HEAVY HC THAT HE HAS ONE LIKE THE LEATHER JACKET AND MOTORCYCLE 🛐🛐🛐)

Just loving how close you are to him how you're holding onto him

Like you can't look at me and tell me this man doesn't like seeing the sunset on his motorcycle honestly his favourite thing

You both end up at a beach as you and him walk across the peer (like an old couple 🤭) just loving the sunset as he has his arm wrapped around your waist

You both end up back at your place.

•Surprisingly, he is such a sweetheart about comforting you during this time.

•As soon as he sees the signs, he puts towels down in his Winniebago and almost forces you into resting.

•Everything you could possibly need or want is always next to you, if it's not, Murdoc is jumping up to get it for you.

•He absolutely will not fall asleep next to you with clothes on.

•If you get cramps, he's more than happy to help. He read somewhere that sex helps with cramps, so if you're down, he has never been afraid of blood.

•Murdoc acts almost as if you are too fragile for you to do anything.

•For example, he will literally begin to bathe and feed you.

•Tones down the arguments as much as he possibly can, he knows it's not a fun week for you and he wants to make it as bearable as possible.

Stuart '2D' Pot

•Super sweet about it.

•Anything you want, or he thinks you would want, is on your bedside table within a few moments.

•Cramps? You're in luck. Stu has a wide variety of painkillers.

•During this time, he likes to refer to you as his 'little juice box'.

•You are always his top priority, but when it comes to this week, you're his only priority.

•He is constantly checking in on you, making sure you're okay and not in any pain or discomfort.

•If you get cramps, he's next to you in an instant, softly rubbing circles on your abdomen.

•Breakfast will be served in bed all week, however, every other meal he wants you to get out of bed for.

•At the start of the week, he asks you what you need and want so he doesn't have to go on late night runs to the store.

•He's more than happy to go to the store at any moment for you though.

Noodle

•Your periods tend to sync.

•Which means, cuddling in bed, holding each other while crying because of your pains.

•She will ask her band mates to get anything you two could possibly need, oh and a mountain of chocolate.

•She will fake cry if Katsu lays on you and not her.

•So many kisses during this time, she knows it's hard for the both of you.

•Always makes sure you're hydrated and eating well, especially during this week.

Ace Copular

•He's not grossed out, just confused.

•Bleeding for that long without dying shouldn't be physically possible.

•He may not understand it but he's more than willing to help you though it.

•He will run you hot baths and put candles all around it, he might even put some rose petals in the water.

•He makes sure you feel loved.

•If you ask for something, he's gone, and he's not coming back until he has exactly what you asked for.

•He gets scared when you get cramps, he still only has the bare minimum of knowledge, and seeing you toss and turn in pain freaks him out.
