Note
that post about 1-A being scared of 3-E?? pls THAT WAS SO AMAZING. ALSO THE FACT THAT YOU KNOW IT TERMS OF SHEER PHYSICAL ABILITIES LIKE RUNNING, CLIMBING TREES, ETC. ONLY FEW IN 1-A ARE ADEPT AT THAT. LIKE BAKUGOU, TENYA, MIDORIYA (not even todoroki). they rely on their quirks too much
wHILE on the other hand we've 3-E? they don't walk on roads, no luv that's for peasants, they jump from one roof to the other, that episode where they scaled that huge hill (rock?) to get the antidote??
if 3-E were to be given quirks, imagine the power they'll hold
ALSO THAT BIT WERE BAKUGOU GETS SHREDDED BY 3-E?? i can imagine the pin drop silence that follows his threat and then slowly 3-E gathers around him (karma is leading the pack you can't convince me otherwise) with the most obnoxious smiles on their faces LIKE WOHOO ANOTHER ASSASSINATION
i am sorry if i ranted too much-
YOU. YOU GET ME
YEAH!
Because yes, 1A does physical work and yes they’re good at fighting but these guys? These guys have done nothing but combat training. They were trained in the freaking WILDERNESS not some big fancy school where all their needs were met.
And look. Look. Like I said, there is a stigma against quirkless, and I’m willing to bet MOST of the group have internalized it. Hell, Izuku himself probably has. He wanted to be a hero but was only capable of doing so when he got a quirk. They definitely think 3E are helpless. Maybe they heard stories from the other 3 classes if they’re there and don’t really wanna spend time around a bunch of ‘no-good delinquents’
3E would treat 1A with such contempt, relying so much on their quirks. Where’s the guns? Where’s the blades? Where’s the twenty step plan in how to extract yourself?
These guys would jump out the windows of top story buildings to practice their landing technique, would absolutely try to kill each other to make sure the other is on their game. Have no problem breaking other peoples bones and slitting throats.
TLDR: Bakugou would have the fear of god put into him

Just going to vomit this up here: Exalted Help
I’m not at all sure what I’m looking for here. I’d like to get into an Exalted 3E game, but these days I have an easier time making characters for Chuubo or Fate games. D&D 5th edition is about the most complex I’ve gotten to play.
I’d like to get this concept off the ground, he’s the first character I played in any Exalted game and I want to get him working for 3E. Right now, I think all I need is 1 Charm, 2-3 Merit Points, and 5 BP to spend.
Name: Wild Falcon/Phoenix Concept: Wayward pugilist youth trying to become the best fighter.
Caste: Dawn Caste Anima: A crimson and white bird of prey with violet feathers at the end.
Intimacies:
“I need to be the best fighter” (Defining Principle)
“Dying is easy. Killing is easy. That don’t impress me.” (Major Principle)
Iron Comb (My Mentor/God, Major)
“I wish to have a place in this world” (Minor Principle)
Bullies (Contempt, Minor)
Birds (Affinity, Minor)
Assume Brawl, Dodge, Athletics, and Thrown stay in, though Thrown is more for disabling gambits than for actual attacks. I imagine Falcon fights like a bird would fight if a bird had supernatural fighting prowess. It’s been awhile since I’ve looked at this sheet, so I’m not 100% on what I was thinking.

Genesis 38
Note the distinct appellations of Tamar as זנה harlot and as קדשׁ holy (prostitute).
Lace is one of the possible readings for a portion of Judah's security.  Perhaps it was a wire bracelet, possibly an embroidered medallion.
1 And it happened at that time that Judah descended from his kin, and he bent to a man, an Adullamite, and his name was Xirah [Mr Burns]. 3d 4B 16 12 וַיַּרְא־שָׁ֧ם יְהוּדָ֛ה בַּת־אִ֥ישׁ כְּנַעֲנִ֖י וּשְׁמ֣וֹ שׁ֑וּעַ וַיִּקָּחֶ֖הָ וַיָּבֹ֥א אֵלֶֽיהָ 2 And Judah saw there the daughter of a Canaanite man, and his name was Crying for Help [Shuah]. And he took her and came to her. 3 And she became pregnant and gave birth to a son, and he called his name Er [Roused]. 3e 4B 7 7 וַתַּ֥הַר ע֖וֹד וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּ֑ן וַתִּקְרָ֥א אֶת־שְׁמ֖וֹ אוֹנָֽן 4 And she became pregnant yet again, and she gave birth to a son, and she called his name Cavil [Onan]. 3e 4B 8 8 וַתֹּ֤סֶף עוֹד֙ וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּ֔ן וַתִּקְרָ֥א אֶת־שְׁמ֖וֹ שֵׁלָ֑ה וְהָיָ֥ה בִכְזִ֖יב בְּלִדְתָּ֥הּ אֹתֽוֹ 5 And she added yet again, and she gave birth to a son, and she called his name Shelah [Ease]. And it was in Kezib that she gave birth to him. 6 And took Judah a wife for Er, his firstborn, and her name was Tamar [Palm-tree]. 3c 4B 13 4 וַיְהִ֗י עֵ֚ר בְּכ֣וֹר יְהוּדָ֔ה רַ֖ע בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיְמִתֵ֖הוּ יְהוָֽה 7 And Er the firstborn of Judah was evil in the eyes of Yahweh, and Yahweh put him to death. 8 And said Judah to Cavil, Go to the wife of your brother and combine with her, and raise up seed for your brother. 9 And Cavil knew that the seed would not be his, and so it was when he came to the wife of his brother, that he impaired earthward, lest he give seed for his brother. 10 And it was an irritation in the eyes of Yahweh, what he did, and he put him to death also. 11 And Judah said to Tamar, his daughter-in-law, Settle as widow in the house of your father, until Shelah my son grows up. (For he said, Lest he die also, he, as his brothers.) And Tamar went and settled in the house of her father. 12 And the days increased and the daughter of Crying for Help, the wife of Judah, died, and Judah was comforted, and he went up to the shearers of his flock, he and Xirah, his associate, the Adullamite, to Timnah. 13 And it was told to Tamar, saying, Behold, your husband's father is going up to Timnah to shear his flock. 14 And she put aside the garments of her widowhood from over her, and she covered herself with a blanket, and she languished, and she sat in a visible door, that was on the way to Timnah, for she saw that Shelah was grown and she was not given to him for a wife. 15 When Judah saw her, he reckoned her as a prostitute, for she had covered her face. 16 And he bent to her by the way, and said, Take care, if you will. Let me come to you. (For he did not know that she was his daughter-in-law.) And she said, What do you give me when you come to me? 3e 4C 29 12 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר אָנֹכִ֛י אֲשַׁלַּ֥ח גְּדִֽי־עִזִּ֖ים מִן־הַצֹּ֑אן וַתֹּ֕אמֶר אִם־תִּתֵּ֥ן עֵרָב֖וֹן עַ֥ד שָׁלְחֶֽךָ 17 And he said, I myself will send out a male kid of the she-goats from the flock. And she said, If you will give surety until you send. 18 And he said, What is the surety that I will give to you? And she said, Your seal and your lace and your rod that is in your hand. And he gave to her, and he came to her, and she became pregnant for him. 19 And she arose, and she went, and put aside her blanket from over her, and put on the garments of her widowhood. 20 And Judah sent a male kid of the she-goats by the hand of his associate, the Adullamite, to receive his surety from the hand of the woman, but he did not find her. 21 And he asked everyone of the place, saying, Where is the holy prostitute, she who was visible over the way?And they said, There was no holy prostitute here. 22 And he returned to Judah and said, I did not find her, and moreover, everyone of the place says, There was no holy prostitute here. 23 And Judah said, Let her take for herself lest we be held in contempt. Upon you a breach, and may his name be acclaimed, Breach [Pharets]. 3e 4B 26 7 וְאַחַר֙ יָצָ֣א אָחִ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־יָד֖וֹ הַשָּׁנִ֑י וַיִּקְרָ֥א שְׁמ֖וֹ זָֽרַח 30 And afterwards his brother emerged that had on his hand the scarlet, and may his name be acclaimed, Sunrise [Zerax]. 3e 4B 15 7

Psalms 31
1 For the leader. Proverbs 23
It is a source of manifold misconceptions that [Torah] is customarily translated "Law" ... George F Moore, Judaism in the First Centuries of the Christian Era, cited in William Morrow, An Introduction to Biblical Law. This is to say that when we have read the canonical text itself, even closely, we are only at the beginning of the journey, and we may not even be there. If we have read only in translation or without history or without culture, we may not even be on the field of play, even if we consider ourselves expert. I bring to my work all my prejudice. Perhaps I will grow. Part of my prejudice is in my desire not to read some of the verses of this chapter of Proverbs. Some I like. Some I despise. Some I try to rephrase. Some I leave as obtuse as possible to undermine the readings that were shoved down my throat. The violence against me I knew. The violence I do to others, I may be only vaguely aware of. But though I must follow at times what others have determined is legitimate violence, I cannot justify it. Will the stroke of a cane save a child from Sheol?  JB here has it wrong anyway. The proverb reads in the KJV you will deliver his soul from hell. A preposterous imposition of later prejudice onto the text. How can it be read that some adult can, by beating up a child, deliver its soul? Only G-d delivers anything from Sheol - whatever that is supposed to mean. So how do I deal with this one? First, I recognize that sceptre, that symbol of governance (the shepherd's staff) and belonging, can also be rendered as rod. I have never used it for this gloss. I have used rod / branch both for מטה. So the proverb is about governance of a youth. It is not about corporal punishment. Second, what is the verb? Its form is תכנו. There is no doubt that tradition has this combination of letters as derived from נכה, a doubly weak verb that loses its letters when conjugated, especially when a pronoun followsand a nun gets added for ease of pronunciation. I wonder if I could derive it from כון the hollow verb meaning prepare or establish. I could go against tradition here. Psalms 89 will do as an example where תכן refers to God establishing the heavens. Governance is vital, and avoidance of betrayal an aspect of trust. But what power will yield such a result? Not violence. And even this limited writer eventually resorts to imponderable questions (verse 29). With respect to wine and women, the writer, clearly a male, deals with addiction and self-harm. He gets this part right, but perhaps he does not realize that the advice of verses 13-14 leads directly to this deadly and destructive result of verse 35. Do we? Pascal's wager is in verse 18. Curious, eh?  In this chapter there are 4 tri-cola, 5, 7, 31, 35. We have seen very few in the later chapters of Proverbs. Some to come in chapters 24 and 25 then none till chapter 30.

Proverbs 18
This is more than awkward. The JB and REB make these make sense. It may be that the Proverbs are supposed to teach me more flexibility in my language. But if that, then are my concordance rules nonsense?
These are really perplexing. E.g. verse 1 JB: Who lives by himself follows his own whim, he is angered by advice of any kind. REB: A solitary person pursues his own desires; he quarrels with every sound policy. KJV: Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom. One day, I may return here to this chapter. But this is it for the moment. The problem is keeping the English as terse as the Hebrew. Perhaps it is a style thing...

Proverbs 12
I never thought Proverbs would be fun. So far it is a respite from prose, and a challenge to wit. The human / earthling אדם, (adam) is in view here with its fourfold repetition. The root of the righteous will not be moved, but it will give...
1 One who loves a warning loves knowledge, but one hating correction is a brute. 2 ~ One who is good draws forth acceptance from Yahweh, but a schemer he condemns. 3 A human will not be established by wickedness, for the root of the righteous will not be moved. 4 A woman of ability, a crown of her husband, but like rottenness into his bones, one that makes shame. 5 The considerations of the righteous, judgment, the margins of the wicked, deceit. 6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the mouth of the upright delivers them. 7 Overturned are the wicked and there is no them, but the house of the righteous will stand. 8 For the mouth of its insight each will be praised, but a perverse heart will be held in contempt. 9 B Better disgraced and have a servant, than to glorify oneself and lack bread. 10 A righteous one knows the integrity of its beast, but the compassion of the wicked is vicious. 11 One who serves its own ground is satisfied with bread, but one pursuing those who are empty is lacking in heart. 12 Wickedness finds attractive the fortress of evils, but the root of the righteous will give. 13 By the transgression of lips, a thought, trapped, but a righteous one will emerge from trouble. 14 From the fruit of my mouth each is satisfied with good, and the reward of the hands of a human will return to it. 3e 4B 7 8 דֶּ֣רֶךְ אֱ֭וִיל יָשָׁ֣ר בְּעֵינָ֑יו וְשֹׁמֵ֖עַ לְעֵצָ֣ה חָכָֽם 15 B The way of the obstinate is upright in its own eyes, but one who hears advice is wise. 16 The obstinate in the day will know its grief, but the crafty covers disgrace. 17 The respiration of faithfulness will make righteousness evident, but a witness to falsehoods, deceit. 18 B There is speaking rashly like the stabbing of a sword, but the tongue of the shrewd is healing. 19 The lip of truth will be established for ever, and ever momentary is a false tongue. 20 g Deceit, in the heart of those who plough evil. but to the counselors of peace, gladness. 21 There is no opportunity for one who is righteous for any mischief, but the wicked are filled with evil. 22 An abomination to Yahweh, false lips, but those doing faithfulness he favours. 23 A crafty human covers knowledge, and the heart of dullards proclaims foolishness. 24 The hand of the decisive rules, but the deceitful will be in forced service. 25 Anxiety in the heart of each makes it prostrate itself, but a good word makes it glad. 26 A surplus from its shepherd, a righteous one, and the way of the wicked makes them wander. 27 Deceit fails to set in motion its hunt, but the value of human esteem is decisive. 28 In a path of righteousness, life, and the way of her pathway, no death. 3e 4B 8 9
