3D workshop Results

-This is the results of the 3D workshop I had done, I really enjoyed making this project.

What went well?

-The best part of this work shop was that we had all the choices we could make and had lots of fun upgrading/Developing my work as I continued to work on this.

Another reason I really like it was that I was able to create a story behind the bird I made as I was making the bird house and the bird slowly developing together.

The reason behind the experiment?

- The main reason I decided to do this was because, I was able to connect through the work with my own history, I came to the UK when I was 11 and had to get used to living in this place and just after 2/half a year I had to move again to the current place I am living, Just like me birds have to go to new places depending on the seasons and have to make a new home every time they move and have to use anything they have around them.

Learning how to use this cutting machine. When we want to cut the object we need to use this black plastic object to help us (it can protect our fingers!)

Plaster Casting

-need a mould

-the plaster is manufactured as a dry powder and is mixed with water 

-fresh plaster is poured into the mould and creating a copy

-the plaster change from liquid to solid is a heat reaction

-sets within an hour 

-if you dry too much it will brown, crumble and burn

3D Workshop with Isabel and Helen.

This workshop was super fun. It was nice to engage with a fun and playful 3D project after such an intense 5 week narrative project. I created Amy by emphasising her legs and eyebrows, of course, it is uncanny!

Tracking debris - the final post

Deadline is near and this is time for some thoughts. 

Whiteout help of some people this project wouldn't exist. The person who helped me almost entire with the code was Pawel Stepnowski, who dedicated his time for it and eventually end up in the hospital (not because of the project). But i realized it is good to have friends who can always help but this project become too complicated and too much time consuming for a person who has a full time job. So the conclusions for future - hire the person who do programming as you cant always control the other person who help you just ‘in the name of friendship’.

Other thing is - it was hard to predict when is something is going to work or not - most of the time it wouldn't. It was really frustrating, and sometimes it would need few hours to figure out that the thing responsible for error was a wire or sometimes unknown reason ( for example problems with rebooting RPI  that it would take sometimes over an hour to reboot). 

But overall it was  pleasant journey and i’m glad that i gain some knowledge about RPI, how to connect devices, how to run simple codes, how to weld or solder and build simple things in 3dworkshop. And whiteout a long list of people this project wouldn't be possible.

+ cool pieces of art

+ can cut complex and precise shapes

+ it's reliable and can be repeated with minimal effort

+ can be quicker than cutting something by hand (depends on the design)
