oh my god and another thing that's wild about the ghostfacers episode??? it's literally the only time we ever hear about death echoes. the other ghost variations are sad enough, people who have such traumatic deaths they don't realize theyre dead for years, people who turn vengeful and are eventually reduced to bloodthirsty monsters, people who become basically comatose after death
but we only hear about ghosts who relive their own deaths again and again ONCE and it's during this one-off comedy filler episode about amateur ghost hunters. what the fuck was up with that

3x13, Ghostfacers!
Critical theory: A meta perspective on Sam and Dean. Dean’s intelligence + problem solving ability. Gay love.
Discussion question(s): Less a question and more a discussion point. I want to encourage you to start thinking about Sam and Dean being written as characters in a TV show, and holding both that version and the “real” version in your head at the same time.
Discussion:
Gay love can pierce through the veil of death and save the day.
Even during the writer’s strike, in this shorter season, they put this in. Much love.
It was like a TV show in the TV show. A genre shift. It makes you see how silly it is. Because they’re acting. They don’t talk like people.
[I love that we see that they swear.] They always swear, we just don’t get to see it. Of course they swear! They deserve it. Dean deserves at least one fuck every episode.
[Meta. I don’t want to say “Sam and Dean as characters vs. them as real people” because. They’re characters in both. However it’s like. How they look to the outside. The rocking up in their car music blaring. The swearing. The conversations in the corner. etc. I love it.]
[Problem solving. Dean is stressed, he goes back to their evidence, says, okay, this is what we know. And then solves the problem—the guy is scared and has a bomb shelter.] People say that Sam is the smart one. But when it comes down to it, Dean solves problems. And he did it while protecting the people they were with. He solves problems at a fast pace, while looking after people. Even when Sam was taken, and Dean obviously cares a lot about him and he didn’t know if Sam was okay, Dean made sure the kids were safe. It’s not that Sam isn’t smart, duh, it’s just. Dean is smart too.
Notes: Iga is dead.

Okay, so since these are the last two images in my camera roll, just in case something happens to me overnight, this guy is not to blame.
