Google Pixel 4a leak floodgates have apparently opened, and we fear it might get the same treatment as the Pixel 4, launched in October last year. After appearing in concept renders, live images, and a detailed hands-on video, the Pixel 4a has now appeared on billboards — though there is some question about whether these are actually mock-ups. The leaked images appear to show official marketing material for the Pixel 4a, giving us yet another glimpse at its design. The alleged Pixel 4a billboard mockups depict the upcoming mid-range phone from Google in black and white colour options, but more importantly, they also spill the beans on its price.

The latest Pixel 4a leak comes courtesy of Evan Blass aka @evleaks, and it shows a familiar design that we’ve already seen in previous leaks as well. The white variant appears to feature a contrasting orange power button, much like the colour scheme on the standard Pixel 4. The grey variant, on the other hand, shows a squircle camera module with a single camera lens and an LED flash, as well as the white power button. The front, with its minimal bezels and hole-punch camera, looks identical to what we’ve seen in previous leaks.

More importantly, the images also reveal the Pixel 4a’s alleged price – $399 (roughly Rs. 29,500). It is worth noting here that the Pixel 3a also made its debut at the same asking price last year. The Pixel 4a will reportedly pack a 5.81-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) display with a pixel density of 441ppi and a hole-punch.

The upcoming Google phone is said to draw power from the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, while a 3,080mAh battery will keep the lights on. Google Pixel 4a was expected to go official at I/O 2020, but the cancellation of Google’s annual conference over the coronavirus situation has cast clouds of uncertainty regarding the Pixel 4a’s launch date.

Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact

The successor to the Xperia XZ1 Compact is Sony’s latest phone to squeeze in high-end smartphone features in a small form factor. It may only have a 5-inch display, but the Xperia XZ2 Compact still has the most powerful mobile chip you can currently get, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.

It also has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of onboard storage, and a 2,870 mAh battery. In addition, it has IP68 dust and water resistance and a 19MP rear camera with Sony’s Motion Eye technology, which is supposed to capture photos a couple of seconds before the user actually takes the photo for better visuals. Slow motion video at 960fps is still available but now has been upgraded to 1080p resolution and the camera natively supports HDR video recording for richer colors and more details. The 3D Creator app Sony implemented last year for creating 3D model scans has also been improved to support this phone’s 5MP front-facing camera.

It may only have a 2.45-inch display, but the Atom has been given the highest IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, which means not only does this phone fit nearly anywhere, it should be able to take a lot of abuse. You could even wear it comfortably on your arm as you run. In fact, Unihertz is selling optional running, biking and body clips for the Atom so it can be securely placed on your body or your bike.

The phone uses an unnamed octa-core 2Ghz processor, and the Atom still crams in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. It also has a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing camera, and a 2,000mAh battery. It even has a USB Type-C port, a headphone jack, and a fingerprint scanner, along with a programmable key on the side that can be set to quickly launch an app, take a quick picture and more. The Atom’s Kickstarter campaign is already fully funded and the phone is now shipping out to those orders. The phone is scheduled for release to everyone else sometime before the end of 2018.

Rumors about a new Palm phone have been popping up for months on the internet, and the company behind this venture has finally officially announced the new Palm phone (yes, it’s just called Palm). This phone is designed to be a secondary device to your main smartphone. The startup that now owns the Palm IP bought it in 2017 from TCL, who helped this new company design and make this phone. This startup believes the Palm will be perfect for people who want to go to places where having a normal or big-screen smartphone is less convenient.
