[4t2] Sixam (Skybox & Ocean Floor)

Alright, after a long hiatus I'm finally back with an update! ^^

Remember the 4t2 sixam skybox I was working last year... but wasn't quite happy about it being "high" in the sky... with all those objects being too gigantic? Well I tried to fix it, but still tried to keep the original TS4 vibe... so yeah, let me know what you think!

Is there something you'd change as well? I'd love to have some feedback on that.

By the way, I also made a matching SC4 map for Sixam, to match the rocky vibe TS4 Sixam has. I think it's closest I could get with those annoying SC4 sculpting tool, lol.

Update!!!

I just came across early images of how Sixam originally looked like. For some reason EA decided to change Sixam and make it more "matt" at some point in an update.

I decided to add back the highlights as I think it looks much cooler and gives more of a out-of-this-world feeling. I've also managed to fix the planet's shape to be more spherical, yayy!! Below you can see Sixam before and after the glow up. ^^

To be honest, I don't know why EA changed Sixam in the first place? As I've had it much brighter in memory as well! But didn't think much of it when I first made this skybox out of the screenshots from my game.

This creator just recreated Oasis Springs, Windenburg and Forgotten Hollow from The Sims 4 in The Sims 2 and I think it's so cool???

Way 2 Sexy

Damien has everything going for him, especially his bed abilities. Damien is too sexy to have to deal with a female sim as a lover. The only lover he really needs is his baby mama and he just wants to woohoo with all the rest of them. Actually who wouldn't want to woohoo with Damien considering everything he has to offer He is well versed in every skill except cooking and even then not one female sim complains after leaving his home. The sexiness can keep you coming back for more every single time.

Creating a custom 'hood and releasing it for download is not hard and not a big deal at all, but since I was doing it for the very first time, of course it wasn't all smooth sailing- hence the wait. I had to recreate it 3 times lmao, due to not knowing all the facts (silly me) but it was all in good fun honestly and I'm super happy it's finally shareable! 🐸

Sooo, this 'hood is completely clean, no characters and no stealth 'hoods or anything. It was created using the Baskerville terrain which, of course, is included. You can play it using your own defaults, but here are the ones I use that you can see in the preview pics:

The folder with the 'hood (N025) goes to your 'Neighborhoods' folder in the Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection (or just The Sims 2)/Neighborhoods 🐛 I debated whether I should include a folder with all the custom neighborhood deco you need, but I figured that probably most of you already have all the CC needed since the buildings and houses I used have been in the community for years! So instead I have made a CC list (under the cut) so you can easily download and/or check if you already have the needed deco. 🦓

There is also a folder with 10 residential lots created just for this 'hood to match its vibe and the aesthetic. They have all been cleaned, compressed and the little CC they have is included and the preview pics are under the cut. 🦔 But, just in case, download these build mode sets (in case you don't already have them):

I don't normally make objects, but I needed these for story purposes. They are from TS4's expansion pack Get Famous and are supposed to be props. I adjusted the sizes of the bow, stern, and mast to fit the TS2 grids better. Not perfect, but good enough. The balustrade is a two-tile item on one square. I wanted to make it a fence, but that's out of the my skill set and I liked it being big.

Found in Decor->Statues with the TS4 descriptions. Everything costs $2000 each. Wood prices are outrageous. The bow and stern are upwards of 14k polys. It only comes in the one color. Neighborhood view compatible. Files are compressed.

Shop Local Pt II - 40 Service Signs

Hi everyone! I'm very excited to share the next batch of signs with you! These are service signs for hospitals, police stations and banks, and they also include my very first 4t2 conversion! Previews, details, swatches and download below (this is a pretty lengthy post)!

This is a continuation of a request for business signs from @gold33 (you can find Part I here, and an Add-On for Part I here). I wanted to use a different mesh for these (I love MogHughson's mesh, but it didn't feel right with these types of signs), which turned into four different meshes for the sake of variety.

First are the hospital signs. I fell in love with this mesh by Bakie, and it was exactly what I wanted, so I decided to try converting it. Lo and behold, it worked!

You get nine of these: Bloom Institute of Wellness, Country Care General Hospital, Sacred Spleen Memorial Hospital, Riverblossom Hills Hospital, Belladonna Cove Hospital, Desiderata Valley Hospital, Veronaville Hospital, Pleasantview Hospital, and Strangetown Medical Research (because who knows what the hell they're up to in a Strangetown hospital).

The police station signs use @tenlittlepandas' conversion of the GTW To Serve and Protect Sign. I included all the neighborhoods, plus a generic version that just reads Police Station for your custom hoods (I forgot to include it in the swatch, but it uses the same color scheme as the one previewed below).

For the bank signs, I used @honeywellsdownloads' 3t2 Library Sign conversion. There are four designs. The logos and wood (including the colored backgrounds) technically mix and match, but they work best matched up as shown in the swatch below.

And then finally, for a little more variety, I made coordinating signs for all of the above on Honeywell's 3t2 Pool Sign mesh. These are really versatile since they can be used on the ground or on rooftops.

All meshes are included, along with numbered swatches. Everything is sorted into folders so you can easily keep just what you like. If I messed anything up, please let me know! I didn't have any problems with the new sign, but since it's my first conversion I'm nervous I could have unknowingly borked something anyway. XP

Part III will be the last round of shop signs. I'm seriously considering putting these on the pool sign mesh since the mapping is significantly less of a nightmare, and I like the versatility of the pool sign. On the other hand, I started with MogHughson's mesh and I like things to match. XD So if anyone has any preference one way or the other, please let me know!

2024 Simming Goals

I didn't do very well on my Simming Goals last year but with a new PC and an empty game folder, I have a newfound sense of motivation and well...not much choice!

Make a Website to share my mods & creations, tutorials, mod lists, gameplay guides/rules, etc.

Make a Sims 2 CC Finds Tumblr Blog where I can reblog CC I come across. I will most likely unfollow some CC creators on this blog and follow them on the CC Finds blog instead so I can more easily find new mods specifically in my main feed. My content which is mostly mods will continue to be shared here.

Re-do my Sims 2 Downloads folder completely following my own advice.

Grow my YouTube Channel: Aiming to upload a minimum of 1 video per month. I plan to focus more on mod tutorials and showcases as this is where I am most knowledgeable and passionate. I need to decide what I want to do in terms of gameplay because I am currently unsure, I would very much like to at least finish Season 1 of Opening Valley, then maybe switch to streaming for Let's Plays or even not do them at all.

Create and Release more Sims 2 Mods: I will likely create several new mods during my journey of rebuilding my downloads folder, and I will also revise a bunch of mods I made but never shared and share them!

Improve my Patreon and give people more potential reasons to want to support me financially

Talk in my Discord much more, hopefully at least once a day

Reduce the number of accounts I follow on Twitter/X and start using it more again

Share more little 'nuggets of knowledge' and tips and tricks in the form of blog posts and potentially YouTube Shorts

Start playing a new Sims 2 neighborhood, maybe Pleasantview

What’s your favourite sims death? I would have to say...probably flies. Never had it happen in my game (naturally), tho

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? 4t2 maxis match conversions, because it's gross and ugly :p No, but for real, I like all cc. People put a lot of time and love into what they create/convert/retexture/recolor. I think that should be recognized.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? No...who does that?

4. Do you use move objects? Yes, kind of have to sometimes!

5. Favorite mod? I had to go into my main save for this one haha. I'd say...all the anti-corruption mods. And to piggy back off of brandinotbroke, ACR! The rest I could probably live without if I could ever sort my folder. Oh, also, one mod I'd really like to give a try is Story Progression by LazyDuchess.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? First purchased was Christmas 2005. My parents gifted me Sims 2 and then my birthday a month later I got University, I believe. I should show you all the video of me opening it and running off to play haha. First played was, I wanna say Urbz! and Bustin' Out. We would rent those from the video store.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? Alive. I recently found out my IRL BFF pronounces it as Living. I've known her almost 20 years and feel like I don't know her anymore 😅

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? Rhiannon, one of my model sims, but all 4 of my models are my favorite. I really should put Rhiannon as a townie in my uberhood. She deserves a life outside of posing.

9. Have you made a simself? Yes, like 18 years ago lol. Ended up corrupting the hood trying to move me with my 10 same face kids to a new neighborhood. I've really enjoyed the premade sims ever since.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Brandinotbroke gave the best answer haha. I honestly don't know what kit EA can come up with next

4to2 Sixam Skybox ... still a work in progress :)

Ever played TS4 and visited the secret alien world of Sixam and wanted it so badly for TS2? Well, I've got something for you then. ^^

I've been working on this little side-project these past few days, lol. It's still not perfect, as I've just noticed that the sky texture is not quite seamless, and I'd still have to do the snowy textures and all for winter, but it's... at least getting somewhere! :)
